Item lists are done. Character bio's are done. Pretty much everything is done! Sweet. :) - - - - - - - - - - - - + 1.1: Introduction + - - - - - - - - - - - - Hi there! My (contributor) name is Estoy Loco and this is my fifth full FAQ/Walkthrough. I've been making these since last summer and would like to think I'm becoming better and better with each one. Monkey Island 2 was actually the third Monkey Island game I played. I first gained knowledge of the series only about two or three years ago, when I picked up Escape from Monkey Island for my Playstation 2. I became so absorbed by the hilarious storyline and fun gameplay I had to try the others. So far, the only Monkey Island game I haven't played and completed is Curse of Monkey Island. So, with that said, please enjoy my guide for Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - + 1.2: Our Story So Far + - - - - - - - - - - - - - - After defeating LeChuck in the first game, Guybrush Threepwood gained much fame and fortune. However, just like with any other big find or story, people eventually stop believing it and start to question the person who claims to have done that thing. So, to regain his former glory, Guybrush sets out to discover the greatest treasure of all time, the treasure of Big Whoop. What death-defying feats and peril-filled obstacles will Guybrush have to overcome this time? If you wanna figure out, play it already dammit! - - - - - - - - - - + 1.3: Controls + - - - - - - - - - - Obviously, Monkey Island 2 is a POINT AND CLICK adventure. But what you may not know is that you can use a few different keys to speed things up. Here are a list of them and descriptions as to what they do. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - | SPACE BAR | Pauses Game | - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - | LETTER C | Automatically Select "Close" | - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - | LETTER G | Automatically Select "Give" | - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - | LETTER L | Automatically Select "Look" | - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - | LETTER O | Automatically Select "Open" | - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - | LETTER P | Automatically Select "Pick Up" | - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - | LETTER S | Automatically Select "Push" | - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - | LETTER T | Automatically Select "Talk To" | - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - | LETTER U | Automatically Select "Use" | - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - | LETTER Y | Automatically Select "Pull" | - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - + 1.4: More 'bout Me/Contact Info + - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Well, usually people don't care too much about who writes these guides, but if you're reading this right now, then I guess you're one of the select few who do. :) My real name is Alex and I live in the US. Specifically, in the state of Minnesota. I've been writing guides since last summer and this is the fifth guide I've written. With each guide I write, I like to think I'm getting better and better. Well, if I were you, I would play on the harder mode no matter what(since you have me to help you. :) But If you don't want to be continually looking at this guide, then you should probably play on easy. The number of adventure games you've played in the past is also a factor. If you've played games like these before, you might know what to do better than someone who hasn't. So, if you think you are a skilled adventure gamer and aren't afraid of a challenge, then play on the hard mode. If not, play on easy. - - - - - - - - - - - + 2.1: Easy Mode + - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - | Monkey 2 Lite | - - - - - - - - - "I've never played an adventure game before. I'm scared." PROLOGUE Our game starts out with Guybrush hanging from a rope in a large hole carrying a treasure chest. Elaine comes down, seemingly unsuprised. Guybrush decides to tell her what happened since they're just "hangin around". "Well, it all started on Scabb Island." ...ooh! Dancing monkeys! The game will open with Guybrush telling two other pirates his LeChuck evaporating story. Hmm.. they don't seem too interested, eh? Me thinks that Guybrush has been telling this story a little TOO much. He'll tell them that he's actually on a new adventure, looking for the biggest treasure of them all. Of course, he didn't know there wasn't any treasure on Scabb Island, so he's going to try and get a ship to go looking elsewhere. =========================================================================== Part 1: The Largo Embargo 2.1a =========================================================================== As soon as you have control of Guybrush, head across the bridge. A man named Largo(read: this parts name) will tell you that you can't pass without paying a "small fee". Take a look at your inventory. Hmmm... I wonder what he'll charge? You know, you'd think he'd be satisfied with maybe one or two of the tiara's, but NO! He's gotta go and take everything! Asshole! No matter which choice you pick, Largo LaGrande will shake you CLEAN. Without a cent to your name, what can you possibly do? Well, there's an entire game to be played yet, so I guess that money didn't mean much... Go over to the sign and pick up the shovel on it. Then, head farther into town. Head into the cartographer's house (second building) and choose the second option. You'll intorduce yourself as Guybrush and he'll introduce himself as Wally B. Feed. Ask him about Scabb Island, Big Whoop, and anything else. He'll eventually tell you that he is pretty sure that Big Whoop is buried on "Inky Island" and that four men buried it there. He'll also inform you that the people split the map up into four pieces... Interesting... Once you're done talking to Wally, press the "pick up" button and wait for Wally to set his monacle down. The second he does, quickly click on it and if you were fast enough, it should end up in your inventory. Also, pick up a piece of paper from the pile of paper. To the right of Wally's shop is the woodworker's place. Pick up the hammer and take some nails. You'll need these a little later on. Head back out to town and up farther into the city. Wake up the three sleeping guys and talk to them. Listen to their long, boring story and when the guy with the wooden leg asks you to get some wood polish, you need to ask him to give you some money for it. He'll give you a little cash. If you try to talk to the clothing guy, he won't understaned a word you say unless you pick the last choice. Then, he tells you you can't pick up any clothes without a ticket. Head back to the main part of town and go down into the hatch. Talk to the bartender and eventually Largo will come down. He'll spit onto the wall. Use your paper with the spit on the wall(if you can't do this now, try doing it after you talk to the voodoo lady which is what you're gonna do in a bit). We've done about all we can right now in Woodtick, so head off onto the island map. From there, go into the swamp area. Use the coffin and row down to the skull shack. Head into the darkness to meet the voodoo lady, which you have actually already met if you played the first Monkey Island. Talk to her about Largo. Once the topic about making a Largo voodoo doll comes up, ask her what ingredients you need and tell her you'll get them. She'll give you a shopping list describing what you need. Go back to town and head back to the kitchen. Talk to him and eventually he'll hire you as a chef. You'll get a bunch of money for this. Inside the kitchen, pick up the knife. Then, walk through the open window back out to Woodtick. Then, go to the large ship outside in town (the only area in town you haven't been to yet). Turns out this guy's got a bit of an alligator problem... Well, he will soon anyway! You can either use the knife to cut the rope or just untie it. After the innkeeper skidaddles, head up to the "private" room. Inside the room, pick up the nice new shirt on the bed. Then, pick up Largo's lice-infested toupet on the dresser. Right as you try to leave... whoops. Hey wait! Largo already has hair! That wasn't a merkin, was it? (look up merkin if you're a little confused by that). After being kicked out, pick up the cheese squigglies in the alligator's bowl. Then, head back out. Exit the International House of Mojo for now and head to the cemetary. We're gonna put that picture of a shovel to very good use! Walk up to the graves up on the hill. Find the tombstone with the LaGrande name on it. Then, use your shovel on the grave. Guybrush will express his fellings on the subject, but ends up going through with it anyway(I imagine because getting off of Scabb is pretty damn important to him). Guybrush will pull out a bone. Guess what? You already have all ingredients needed to make the voodoo doll! Head back to the International House of Mojo and talk to the voodoo lady. Give her each of the items and she'll quick whip up the doll in her juju bag. However, since the ingredients weren't "optimum specimens", she'll inform you that you have to get really close to him. So, where do you think we could go that would end up making us really close to him? If you guessed his hotel room, give yourself a pri... no... well, a pat on the back then. Yeah, it's a shitty prize, but I can't exactly send you someth... *closes mouth* Back in Woodtick, you can pick up the can of wood polish for the peg-leg guy if you want. Then, go put some on his pegleg. He'll be grateful, but he won't have anything to give you. Oh well. At least you have some nice useless wood polish, eh? Head to the inn. The second you walk into Largo's room, quickly use the pins in the voodoo doll. He's already here, so you need to do things FAST! Eventually, Guybrush will get his beard stolen(well, it's LeChuck's beard, but Guybrush is in possession of it...). Things don't look too good, eh? Guybrush will explain to the voodoo lady what happened, and she confirms that LeChuck can be brought back by using his beard alone. She'll give Guybrush a useful book and away you'll go. Head down to the peninsula and enter Captain Dreads ship. Bet you weren't quite expecting that, eh? Now that Largo is gone and you have a good amount of money, you'll easily be able to use the ship. =========================================================================== Part 2: Four Map Pieces 2.1b =========================================================================== You'll get a cutscene showing LeChuck's hidden Caribbean fortress. Well well well, looks like old Chuck is back! He mentions to the voodoo-laiden person that he needs a very special doll made for him... care to take any guesses? When you get control of Guybrush, you'll be sailing across the Caribbean on Captain Dread's ship, if you can even call it that... Pick up the parrot chow and head in. Ask old Dread what you're choices of islands are, and you'll come across a shocking revelation: Elaine is the govenor of nearby Booty Island! Head to Phatt Island first though. We have things to do there. When you arrive at Phatt Island, you'll notice that there's a wanted poster of you up. The guard will immediately recognize you, and no matter which option you choose, you'll get arrested. Turns out Govenor Phatt wants a word or two with you. Funny, you wouldn't think he'd even be able to talk... A bell will ring everytime a few shots of food are intaked by him. After talking to him a bit, you'll soon realize that the reason this fatty can live such a life of luxury is because he's going to sell YOU to LeChuck! ... how the heck does LeChuck have money again? Anyway, continue talking to tubby, and eventually you'll be taken away by that barbarian-esque guard that took you here in the first place. Choose how you want to say "I'll be back" to Gov. Phatt, and you'll soon find yourself standing in a jail cell. Judging by the condition of the guy sitting next to you, it must be a pretty hard life here... Open the rock hard mattress and pick up the stick. You can throw the stick for Walt to go fetch, but he always goes right back to the key. Notice the dead guy next to you? Use the stick on his tibia. After a failed attempt at flipping the bone into his pocket, pick up the bone and use it on Walt He'll come over, salivate a bit, and trade you the key for the bone. Use the key on the cell door and pick up the manilla envelope on the shelf. After opening it, everything you had will come spilling out into Guybrush's pocket. Fun! Okay, now you got all yer crap back. Head outside of the cell and go in the alley next to the library. A small, illegal gambling operation has been set up here. Talk to the operator and have him explain to you how the game works. No matter which option you pick, you'll win each time. Play three times to get all three prizes! Well, the only thing you really actually need here is the invitation to Gov. Marley's Mardi Gras party, but still... It probably wouldn't hurt to get the sixty pieces of eight. Once you're done here, head to the island map and walk to the waterfall. There will be a huge hole in the waterfall, so head on in. Walk through the large number of corridors and head to the nice little cottage on the hill overlooking the sea. Walk inside and open the trap door. Hmm.. Looks like no one's home. Guybrush will forget that he's standing on the door when he opens it, so he'll fall down it. Check out the skeleton taking a bath. Grab your FIRST MAP PIECE out of his boney grip! Yes! Your first piece! Squeeze out of the hole in the wall and head back through the cave and through the corridors back to the dried up waterfall. Head back to town and enter Dread's ship. Have him take you to Booty Island. You'll get a cutscene depicting LeChuck's disatisfaction with Guybrush getting a piece of the map. He tells Largo to stop Guybrush at any cost, but what could HE possibly do? On Booty Island, enter the small shop to the left. This is actually "The Booty Boutique" with a ton of stuff you can buy in it. Notice anything out of the ordinary? To the left of the shopkeep is a piece of the map! Try to pick it up and he'll tell you that it's a measily 100 pieces of eight! Buy it of course! Some of the other things you can buy here are the hub cap, beware of parrot sign, pirate hat, old saw, feather pen, ship's horn and rock 'n roll collector's plate. Once you've had your jollies here, head back out to town. Go inside the costume shop. Present your invitation to Elaine's party to the owner and he'll get you your costume. I half-expected Guybrush to say, "Nice purple dress." but he didn't. Oh well. Pick up the costume and exit the store. Enter Stan's Previously Owned Coffins. Wow. Looks like this guy took a few too many No-Doz this morning, eh? Ask him to show you what it's like being in one of his old coffins. Quickly nail the thing shut. Pick up the key to the crypts that's sitting on the large scale model of a tomb- stone. You can smash the register open, but there won't be anything inside. Head out to the map and go to the mansion. This is where the big Mardi Gras party is located! A guy in a LeChuck costume will be waiting to check your invitation and see if you're in costume. Show him the invitation and then Guybrush will go change. The guy will let you in. Cross the small bit of path and go over the natural bridge. Head toward the mansion and enter. None of the party-goers will actually respond to anything you say to them(probably jealous of your super-fly costume) so just take the piece of map. When you leave, the dog will notice that you have something of Elaine's and will bark loudly. Eventually, the guy will throw a rake at you, knock out a bunch of Guybrush's teeth, and you'll be lead up to go see Elaine. Tell her all of the mushiest lines and eventually she'll... throw the map out the window. *shrug* Guybrush will head downstairs. Looks like the two lovebirds finally decided to get a room. Go back outside. The map piece will land on the ground. Pick it up and leave the mansion. Guybrush will get rid of that dress while he's in the woods(and all this time I thought he'd continue wearing it...). Go back to Dread's ship and head to Scabb Island. You'll get another cutscene. More with LeChuck and Largo... On Scabb, head to the cemetary. There is only one actual crypt labeled "crypt", so use the key on that one. Open up Rapp Scallions tomb and take the map piece. Sweet! You've got the entire map in your hands now! Now all we need to do is take the map pieces to a cartographer. Go see Wally in Woodtick. Incase you took his monacle earlier, give it back to him. Then, give him one of the pieces of the map. Guybrush will automatically give him the other three. Looks like you'll have to do something for Wally. Head over to the IHOM and get Wally's love potion. While you're getting his stuff, the voodoo lady will suddenly feel "a disturbance in the Force". Nice little reference there LucasArts... Well, looks like Wally is in trouble and we have to go rescue him. Leave the IHOM and go back to Wally's shop. Read the hastily scratched message. All it says is, "LeChuck". I wonder what that could possibly mean? I don't know if Guybrush would have gone looking for Wally, but since he has his map... Head back to the swamp. Remember that crate? Well, open it up and hop inside and prepare yourself for a wild ride! =========================================================================== Part 3: LeChuck's Fortress 2.1c =========================================================================== "In the small crate of voodoo supplies that would be his home for the next five days and nights, Guybrush is forced to eat bat lungs and eel bladders to stay alive." I like that quote. Anyway, once you arrive at LeChuck's fortress, Guybrush will appear to be just fine. I guess eel bladders are more nutritious than I figured. Walk to your right and go up the stairs to the passage. Head to the far right tunnel and go through the corridors. You'll come to a dungeon-like area with a single jail cell. Look inside and you'll soon discover Wally is in there! Ask him about the map and he'll tell you that LeChuck took it away, but luckily he managed to memorize the whole thing! Offer to break down the door. Wally will then tell you to go get the key instead(great idea!). Head back to where the shitload of signs are. Take the right tunnel down from the signs and head right. You'll come to an impenetrable door. Simply open it, and take the jail cell key. It's sitting to the right of the throne. A cage will drop down over Guybrush! LeChuck will come limping in and soon you'll find yourself hanging out with Wally over a tub of acid. After that needlessly long explanation, ask Wally if he has any bright ideas. Apparently, this is such an embarassing method of escaping, you have to close your eyes while Wally gets you out of there. Soon enough, LeChuck will come barging in and will ask Largo to find you. You'll find yourself in a pitch black room. All you can tell about this room is that there are a lot of boxes and crates around. Light up a match and you'll discover the room is full of... well... stuff that you shouldn't be lighting a match around. LeChuck's fortress will go poof and you'll be rocketed out into the blue yonder. =========================================================================== Part 4: Dinky Island 2.1d =========================================================================== You'll end up, somehow, on Dinky Island. You'll immediately notice a talking parrot and a strange machine. Turns out this machine is actually a still. Go to the right and talk to Herman. He'll be spouting some crazy mumbo-jumbo as usual. Ask him why he's here and he'll tell you that he's teaching Neo-existentialist Cartesian Zen Taoism. To nobody. Eventually, he'll teach you a little of it. He'll ask you what color a tree is that falls when noone is around to hear it. You'll have to cycle through every color until the option 'all colors?' comes up, and then choose that to get it right! Pick up the crowbar sitting on the beach. Use it on the crate by the bird to get three crackers. Give the bird one of them. He'll say, "Head due east from the pond to the dinosaur.". Okay then, lets go there. Head to the left and enter the path. Follow the path to the right. See that box? Take the rope and use the crowbar on it. Pick up dynamite. Then, take the east paths twice to reach the dinosaur. The bird will come flying in and perch itself on the fake dino. Give him another cracker and he'll give you the second clue. "Head north from the dinosaur to the pile of rocks.". Head north twice. The bird will come flying in once again and sit on the rocks. Give him your last cracker. "Head due east from the rocks to the X.". We're almost there! Take the path to the right. You'll come to a rather large X. Herman will come waltzing in and tell you there was a shortcut here all along. Ass... Well, there's no use being mad now that we're at the treasure! Use your shovel on the big X. Once you hit cement, use a match on the dynamite and throw it into the hole. The blast will be so loud that Elaine will be able to hear it all the way on Booty Island! After the blast, you'll be standing on a tiny ledge and the treasure will be sitting on a tiny ledge. Combine the crowbar and rope to create the crowbar 'n' rope. Swing over to Big Whoop by using the crowbar 'n' rope with the twisted metal rods above you. Look familiar yet? Elaine will show up "about three days later". Obviously this is exactly where we left off when Guybrush began his story at the beginning of the game. Elaine will complain about the length of the story and then Guybrush's rope will break! As soon as you have control of Guybrush, find the lightswitch on the wall and use it. Three guesses as to who's down here with you. LeChuck will drop a bombshell by saying that you're... ..................................................................... .............brothers! Eek! LeChuck will then whip out a voodoo doll of you and start to twist Guybrush into all sorts of strange shapes and such. Instead of sending you to another dimension though, LeChuck only sends you to.. another room. One that's not too far away either. LeChuck will soon send you to yet another room. Pick up the treasure of Big Whoop. LeChuck will show up again(keep in mind he'll do this a lot when you're trying to do stuff down here) and he'll send you to another room. Again. Enter the room with all the boxes of root beer. There's also a box with a balloon in it. Pick it up if you so wish. When LeChuck comes in, you can try to use some root beer on him, but it won't work. Probably because he has an actual body. Head down to the First Aid room. The skeletons of Guybrush's parents will be here...somehow. This is a little strange, no? Pick up Dad's remains. Then, pick up the syringe and surgical gloves over in the area with the large "FIRST AID" sign up. Next, head into the room with the >>ELEVATOR to the left of it. Fill the gloves and balloon with helium if you wanna. Guybrush will inhale the helium and say various pop-culture references in his pip-squeek voice! (Too bad you can't actually hear him..). But whichever one you use, be sure to fill it back up! Once you're done with that, use the coin-return slot on the grog machine a few times. When LeChuck comes in, pull his underwear! Now, go out in the corridors and wait for LeChuck to come out once again. This time, give him your clean hankie. He'll give it back to you in a different form to say the least. Now that you have his soiled undies, head to the elevator. Once inside, quickly use the lever to shut the door on LeChuck. Pick up the crispy beard bits and open the door. You'll wind up in... Melee Island! Cool! On the side of the building will be a poster for the circus. You may or may not have the circus tickets, but if you do... well, you can't go to it anyway, so I guess they're still useless. Well, while you're up here away from Chuck, you might as well make the most of it. Put the crispy beard bits, underwear, skull and hankie with the juju bag. Now all we need is a doll. Go to the room with all the boxes in it again. Open the box with the dolls and take one out. Put the doll in the juju bag and Guybrush will shake it up. Out will pop a doll that looks the same and has the same name, but now has a ton of voodoo powers. Wait for LeChuck to show up again. When he does, quickly use the syringe with the kewpie doll. Then, follow him. The only choice that will actually hurt LeChuck enough to sort of defeat him is the "I wonder what would happen if I tore the leg off this thing?" choice. Then, what appears to be Walt will come in and take his arm... what the heck? o_O Then, some really strange stuff happens. And I mean STRANGE! Luckily, Elaine makes a bit of sense out of it after a while. Well, congrats. You've beaten Monkey Island 2. But you've actually only completed the easy mode. The hard mode is...well, harder. I suggest you try that one next if you don't have anything else you're dying to play. :) ________ ______ __ /_ __/ /_ ___ / ____/___ ____/ / / / / __ \/ _ \ / __/ / __ \/ __ / / / / / / / __/ / /___/ / / / /_/ / /_/ /_/ /_/\___/ /_____/_/ /_/\__,_/ - - - - - - - - - - - + 2.2: Hard Mode + - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - | Monkey Island 2 | - - - - - - - - - - "I want it all! Either way, expect a few pretty difficult puzzles! But hey, that's why I'm here, right? After the story is over, pick up the shovel on the sign. Then, make your way down the bridge when a guy named Largo will stop you. He'll shake you clean of all the treasure you've got! I hope Guybrush has a savings account... If you go into the woodsmith's shop, you'll notice that you can't take the hammer and nails without him getting pissed off. Well, we'll just have to get rid of him. But first... ...head into Wally the cartographer's shop. Talk to him about Scabb and Big Whoop. Then, when he puts his monacle down, grab it and take a piece of paper while you're at it. Head up to the ship in the distance and talk to the men of low moral fiber. You might remember them from the first game. After a very long and boring story, the one with a missing leg will ask you to go get him some polish for his wooden leg. Say you will, but you need the money for it first. Bid farewell to them and go see the woodsmith. Buy the wood polish from him and go back to the men of low moral fiber. Rub some polish on the guys peg-leg and he'll give you a piece of eight for you trouble. While you're here, pick up the bucket that's to the left of the three guys. You'll have to pick the first choice about a hundred times before the guy lets you have it. Next, walk down the hatch of the ship that looks like it's directly across from the woodsmith's shop. Head down and talk to the barkeeper. Hmm.. it would seem that the barkeeper and the woodsmith are somehow telepathically linked(they both want to make Largo voodoo dools). After a while, Largo will come down and spit on the wall. Use your piece of paper to wipe up some of Largo's spit. Then, talk to the barkeeper again. Ask for a grog. He won't give you any, but will offer you some near-grog. Too bad though, because he just sold the last of it to "Kate", whoever that is. However, if you ever get an I.D., he says, you can have some grog. Head outside the bar and enter it again, this time through an open window. Through the window, you'll end up in the kitchen. Pick up the knife. Now, head out of Woodtick and to the world map. Go back to the beach where Bart and Fink(the two pirates you were talking to at the beginning of the game) are and pick up the stick. Head back out again and this time go to the swamp. Fill the bucket up with swamp water and you'll get a bucket of mud. While were here, get in the coffin and make your way over to the International House of Mojo. Have the voodoo lady explain a few things for you. Well, right now you have his spit, but don't bother giving it to her yet. Wait until you have all four. After she's done talking to you, look at the piece of string sitting on the table and take some of it. Head back up to Woodtick. Now, enter the only ship you haven't been to yet here. This is the hotel. See that cute little alligator? Well, we need to set him free in order to gain access to the hotel's only room. Use your newly-aquired knife on the alligator's rope. The innkeeper will go chasing after him, leaving the place unguarded. When both of them are gone, pick up some of the Cheese Squigglies in the little guy's bowl. Then head upstairs. Place the bucket 'o mud on the door and take the toupee. Hide behind the dressing curtain. :D Head out back to Woodtick and up to where the three guys are sitting on the ledge. You'll witness Largo talking to Mad Marty, the owner and operator of the cleaners here in Woodtick. Largo will tell you to tell Marty he'll be back to pick "it" up or else. What is "it" anyway? Before talking to Marty, see that little box next to the guys with no moral whatever? Open it and place some cheese squigglies in it. Place the stick in the box. Then, combine the stick and the string and place this stick/string combination on the box. When the rat comes to have a nibble, pull the box shut! Open the box and take the rat. Go back to Largo's room in the hotel. Once inside, shut the door. Take the laundry claim ticket that's taped to the back and head back to Marty's. Eventually, Largo's "laundry" will come and you'll get it. With the rat in hand, go back inside the window in the bar. Place the rat in the vichyssoise. Exit via the window and enter the bar using the normal entrance. Talk to the barkeep about the stew. See ya later, Bernard. When the cook asks you if you want a job, say yes. You'll get a weeks pay upfront! Leave the bar and head to the cemetary. We only need to get one more ingredient for the Largo voodoo doll! Head for the graves up on the hill and find the one that has the "LaGrande" name on it. Dig! The lightnings a nice touch, no? Head back to the voodoo lady and give her the ingredients. She'll quickly whip you up a voodoo doll in her juju bag and also give you a few pins. Go back to Woodtick and, specifically, Largo's room. Quickly use the pins with the doll! "Take that, you stumpy little dim-witted toad!" Bye bye Largo... but before he goes, Guybrush just HAS to tell him a litle bit about how he killed LeChuck. Whoops... You'll automatically be at the voodoo lady's place. She'll explain that what Largo said is true! If you ask for some protection, she'll tell you that LeChuck's voodoo is just as strong as hers! Thankfully, she says that there is a way to get out of this predicament. She'll give you the book, "Big Whoop: Unclaimed Bonanza or Myth?" and you'll be on your way. Head down to the peninsula on the bottom left hand corner of the island. Head inside the houseboat and talk to Captain Dread about chartering a ship. He says he can't now because a while ago he lost his "lucky necklace"... What a dumbass! Here you are with actualy money trying to... ...okay, maybe I got a little off track there. Anyway, I guess we'll just have to give him a "necklace". Give it to him and then hand over 20 pieces of eight. =========================================================================== Part 2: Four Map Pieces 2.2b =========================================================================== You'll start this chapter of the story off with a cutscene showing off LeChuck's old fortress somewhere in the Caribbean. LeChuck has been resurrected! Looks like you're really in for a ride now. Luckily, both Largo and LeChuck think you're still on Scabb Island. Looks like you're safe... for now. When you first get control of Guybrush, pick up the bag of parrot chow sitting near the doorway. Then, head inside the ship and talk to Captain Dread. Ask him what your choices are and select Phatt Island from the map. The first thing you'll notice when you get to Phatt Island is that there is a wanted poster up on the wall with your picture and name on it. Even luckier, there just happens to be a very big guard sitting there looking at the poster when you come walking up! It doesn't matter which option you choose, because either way, you're going to be taking a visit to Gov. Phatt. All right, show of hands... how many of you thought Govenor Phatt would be... A: Skinny? B: Fat? or C: Pleasantly Inbetween? Yeah, I thought so. Govenor Phatt is so damn fat that while he's talking to you, three streams of liquidy foot will go shooting down his throat. He's become so greedy that he wants to sell.. you! To LeChuck! Damn, his followers must have been having a bakesale while he was dead or something... that is, unless they offered him a single piece of eight or something. No matter which replies you choose, the same outcome will occur. Although you can make some pretty funny comments and replies. Well, looks like you're goin' to jail! Pick up your mattress. Then, pick up the stick under it. You can play fetch with Walt with it, but that won't do any good. So, use it to get one of the skeleton's bones. Then, lure Walt over with the bone. After he runs off, pick up the small key and free yourself. On the shelf, pick up both the manila and gorilla envelopes. Inside the manila envelope will be all of your taken things. Inside the gorilla envelope will be an organ and a banana. Leave the jail and head right. Go to the small dock and talk to the fisherman fishing on it. Keep talking to him until he offers to make a wager. If you can catch a bigger fish than he can, than he'll give you his pole. Well, I know you don't actually have a fishing pole, but accept anyway. Go into the library and open the model lighthouse. Take the lens. We need to get two books here, "Great Shipwrecks of Our Century" and "The Joy of Hex". The first can be found under C-D "Disaster". You can only get one book at a time, so tell Guybrush to remember that one and go get it from the librarian. You'll have to get a library card first, though. It's pretty easy to get one thankfully. Just tell her some information. With your new temporary library card, you can check out four books at a time, which is all you'll need. After getting Great Shipwrecks, go look for The Joy of Hex in the card catalog under P-Q-R "Recipe". It's near the middle. Then, get that book. You can still get one more book if you want to, but we already have all of the necessary ones. Leave the library and enter the alley right next to it. You'll see a guy operating a small gambling operation and a guy betting. Once the guy gets his winnings and goes, quickly follow him into another alley. You'll see him talk to a shut door, and all of a sudden a huge hand will come out an opening at the top. Now I'll explain how this thing works. Once the guy leaves, go up and talk to the guy behind the door. Ask him what the winning number will be. You have to do this right three times. For example... if he says, "If this is three" and his hand has five fingers up, the answer will automatically be five no matter what. It all depends on how many fingers he has up the first time. With the winning number, go back to the guy running the wheel and choose the winning number. You'll have to do this three times if you want to get all three prizes. When you're done, head to the path on this island. Go back to Govenor Phatt's mansion. Open the gate and head inside. Go up and talk to the guard that's... guarding the staircase. Tell him that there's a fire in the kitchen and head upstairs. Use "Big Whoop: Unclaimed Bonanza or Myth?" with "Famous Pirate Quotes". You'll get that book but lose the Big Whoop book. Oh well. With your brand new book, go back to Dread's ship. Head down to Booty Island. Talk to Augustus DeWatt(the old as hell guy next to the cannon) for a bit of info on Booty Island and him. Then, talk to Kate Capsize, the chick in green trying to sell something. Get one of her leaflets and then enter The Booty Boutique(it's the really small, shack-like store that's to the left of your ship). In the Booty Boutique, talk to the owner. Notice that thing to the left of him? Yep, it's a piece of the map to Big Whoop. If you try to buy it, he'll tell you that it's six MILLION pieces of eight! After he tells you that, talk to him again and ask him if he accepts visa's. Then talk to him about trade-ins. He'll tell you there's one thing he might accept as a trade-in for the map, and that's the figurehead of the Mad Monkey. After talking to him about that, there's a bunch of stuff in here that you CAN buy, but doesn't have any actual purpose. The only things you're gonna wanna actually buy are(obviously) the map piece, the sign, the horn, the mirror and the saw. To get the mirror, put the bag of parrot chow on the hook that the sign you bought was sitting on. After doing all that there is to do for now in the Booty Boutique, head over to the costume shop. Show the owner your invitation to Elaine's party and he'll give you your complementary costume. If you look carefully, you might notice one of the stars of Sam and Max in here... Pick up the dress and head out. Now you're gonna want to make a quick trip to Scabb Island. Go to Woodtick and head down to the bar. Hey look! JoJo is finally here to perform! Anyway, the barkeep will(with very good reason) fire you. But there really isn't a grudge held by either party. Ask him for a grog. Now that you have an I.D. (temporary library card) you can get as many drinks as you want! You'll want one of each drink. After getting your drinks, place the banana on the metronome. This will cause JoJo to become completely mesmorized. Then, take JoJo. The barkeep will become noticeably peeved, but won't do anything to stop you. Now go back to Booty Island. In town, go all the way to the right until you happen across a spitting contest. Blow the horn you got in the Booty Boutique and quickly move the flags. This will make it actually possible to win this contest. Before talking to the guy running it, use some of the green drink with your crazy straw. Then, talk to the guy running it(the spitmaster). Pick whichever name you want and then pick as many spitting noises as you want. However, once you pick, "ptooie!", Guybrush will spit. To win, you also need to spit when the wind is blowing the hardest. You'll notice this whenever the woman in the far right of the crowd's sash sways. Once you win, you'll get a nice plaque. A plaque... hmm... what good is a dumb plaque? Well, you can get 6000 pieces of eight for it if you do this next thing correctly! Go to the Booty Boutique and talk to the antique dealer. Show it to him and try to say the best sounding things about the plaque to him. Eventually, you'll get the money from him. With 6000 pieces of eight, you could charter a ship from Kate and get the Mad Monkey's figurehead! Make sure you read the book and write down the coordinates(they're 34N 89W if you're that lazy :P). Then, talk to Kate and charter her ship. Dive down and grab the monkey head. Then, head over to the anchor and tug on it. You'll get reeled up, monkey head in...pants. Back at Booty Island, give the monkey head to the antique dealer. Woot! You got your first map piece! After that exciting ordeal, head to the island map and walk over to the small strucure that's just in front of the governor's mansion. When I first saw him here, I was pretty suprised... until he took that mask off. :P Put on your dress and show him the invitation and you'll be let in. Walk through the path and up to the mansion. Before going in, head to the left side of the building. See that trash can? Push it. A chef will come running out, knife flailing. Run away as fast as you can and try to get around to the kitchen before the chef doesn. Inside the kitchen will be a fish that you need to take. One thing I just discovered is that you can actually chase the chef rather than he chase you! Kinda funny. Head inside the mansion. There will be a lot of party guests in here but none will bother talking to you. The map section is sitting on a bulletin board to the left over the fire place. Just walk right up and take it. Guess everyone else is just too busy partying... When you walk out with the map, the dog(affectionately named Guybrush) will sniff you, knowing that you have something of Elaine's on you. The gardener will become extremely suspicious and after a bit of talking, will lead you up to the governor herself! For some reason, I don't think Elaine is that suprised at seeing Guybrush here, although it is kinda funny to watch him grovel at her feet. To progress, you'll have to pick the most dramatic, most loving, most corny as hell responses as you can. If you pick the others, you'll just have to keep trying. Of course, Guybrush goes and blows the whole thing by asking for the map at the end, causing Elaine to throw the map out the window in a tsunami of anger. Head out to the fron of the mansion and try to pick up the map. When you try to go after it, it just barely evades your grasp and is carried off by the wind. The map will land on a cliff. To get it, we're gonna need a fishing pole. Back to Phatt Island! You'll get a cutscene showing LeChuck getting very very... indifferent about you finding only one piece of the map. We'll show him... eventually. On Phatt Island, the first thing you're going to want to do is put Kate's leaflet over your face on the wanted poster. This will keep safe from the strangely loyal Phatt Island Police Force. Then, go show the fisherman your "catch". He'll have no choice but to give you his fishing rod! Next, go to the path that leads to the island map. You'll see... uh oh... Captain Kate come up. I guess it isn't just Guybrush that has all the bad luck, eh? Walk right back into town. Enter the jail and take Kate's envelope. I guess karma IS real! Hehehe. Inside will be a bottle of near grog. If you remember correctly, you have the key to the cell door here. Well, if you're feeling nice, go ahead and let Kate out. Guybrush will at first be afraid that Kate is going to pummel him down. But it turns out that she doesn't even realize that you were the one that framed her! Although she might pretty soon... Now that you have the fishing pole, head back to Booty Island and walk over to the cliff that it landed on. Then, walk to the cliff edge and use the fishing pole on the map. Guybrush's luck comes back to haunt him when a seagull comes and takes the map. Luckily, you'll get a birdseye view of where the map goes, a large tree in the northern section of the island. However, don't go here yet. To get to the top of the tree, we need another item. Head back to Elaine's mansion and climb the stairs to her room. Take the old oar that's sitting on the wall. Come back down and take Guybrush too (geez, can't stop stealing from poor Elaine...). Head to the tree and use both the stick and oar to get up the tree. When Guybrush uses the oar, though, it'll break and he'll start having a pretty weird dream.. he'll write down some of it, and soon he'll wake up. Pick up the broken oar. Head back to Scabb and use your saw on the peg-leg guy's peg leg. Then, go inside the woodsmith's and take his hammer and nails. Go back to Booty and enter Stan's Previously Owned Coffins. Eventually, he'll show you what it's like to be in one of his coffins. Use the nails and hammer on the coffin and take the crypt key that's on the large fake tombstone. Go to Scabb again and get your broken oar fixed at the woodsmiths. Now, go to the cemetary and open the only crypt actually labeled "crypt" with the crypt key. Open Rapp Scallion's coffin and pick up some of the ashes. Now, head down to the International House of Mojo and look on the wall for the bottle of Ash-2-Life. Pick it up and head back to the crypt. Use the ash-2-life on the ashes in the coffin. Talk to Rapp, and eventually he'll give you his key to his Weenie Hut to see if the burners are still on. Head to the beach and enter the weenie hut. Turn off the burners and go back and talk to Rapp again. Now you'll get another piece of the map! Now that you have a reinforced oar, head back to the big tree and use the stick and oar on the tree. This time, Guybrush won't fall. Eventually, Guybrush will start to automatically move the stick and oar. At the top, use Guybrush(the dog) with the stack of maps. Remember how he can sniff out anything of Elaine's? Well, he can get that map too! Then, when you have the
piece of map, go out and move to the hut in the distance. Pick up the
telescope.

Okay, now we just need one more piece of map! Head to Phatt Island and walk
to the waterfall. There should be a path that leads up to the top. Go
there and use JoJo with the pump. The "monkey wrench" will cause the
waterfall to turn off, revealing a large hole. Walk in and move through the
numerous corridors until you come out on a beach near a small cottage.
Walk up the path to the cottage.

Inside this cottage will be one of the four members of the original Big
Whoop crew! Talk to him and take him up on his offer of a drinking contest.
When he brings you your cup of grog and leaves to get his, quickly empty
your cup into the tree and put the near grog in. This will be a pretty
one-sided contest, seeing as this stuff is deadly enough to take the old
man down in one glass!

With the old man out of the picture, you'll have to figure out how to
get the piece of map yourself. First, look on the wall for the mirror
hanger. Put your mirror on it. Then, go outside and open the window. Then,
put the telescope in the statue's hand. You'll see a beam of light go inside
the house and bounce off the mirror, landing on a spot on the left wall.
Go inside and press the spot on the wall where the light landed. You'll
go falling down into a small room with a skeleton in a bath tub. See that
in his hand? That's the final piece of map! Grab it and go through
the small opening. Then, go through the corridors back to the main area
of the island.

We have all four pieces of the map, but we still don't know what to make
of it! I guess we'll need to go see a cartographer. Head down to Scabb and
go see Wally in Woodtick. Remember though, you took his monacle a long
time ago. Luckily, the lighthouse lens is the same perscription as the
monacle was! Give it to him and then give him a piece of the map. He'll
tell you that he can put it together pretty quick, but you'll have to do
a small errand for him.

Head down to the Internation House of Mojo and pick up his love bomb. While
you're being handed the items though, the voodoo lady will have a vision of
Wally being taken! Head back to Wally's office and look at the scratchings
in the desk. Uh-oh... this can't be good. To get to LeChuck's, go back
to the swamp. See the crate here? Open it and hop inside.

===========================================================================
Part 3: LeChuck's Fortress 2.2c
===========================================================================

"In the small crate of voodoo supplies that would be his home for the
next five days and nights, Guybrush is forced to eat bat lungs and
                        eel bladders to stay alive."

Gotta love that quote.... anyway, once you're here, take a walk to the right
and go through the doorway up the stairs. Enter this area. Head straight
to the right and go down to the cell. Look inside and you'll see Wally!
Talk to him for a bit and eventually you'll go looking for the key.

Head back to the area with the huge number of signs. Go down the right
tunnel closest to the signs. Then, whip out the spit encrusted paper that
Guybrush wrote those song lyrics on. To get to the key, we'll need to look
at this closely. See those skeletons on the wall? If the first lyric matches
up with the skeleton on the wall, push it and you'll come to a new area.
Do this for every lyric in the song, and you'll eventually come to the
huge door. Open it(I know, anti-climatic) and try to take the key. Things
just can never be as easy as they could be eh?

Well, here you are, dangling above a vat of acid facing impending doom.
What can you do? Well, as soon as LeChuck leaves, talk to Wally. This doesn't
help you at all, it just can result in some pretty funny stuff. When you
want to get outta here, slurp up some of your green drink with the crazy
straw. We need to spit out that candle... Try to hit that shield on your
right. The spit should go flying over. This'll most likely take a few tries,
but you should get it in time.

Now, you and Wally will be in a completely dark room. Strike one of your
matches to put a little light on the situation. Guybrush = butterfingers.

===========================================================================
Part 4: Dinky Island 2.2d
===========================================================================

By some strange twist of fate, you manage to fly all the way to Dinky
Island. Walk to the right and pick up the martini glass and crowbar. Then,
if you want, you can experience one of the most messed up things in
adventure gaming. If you try to get Herman to teach you a bit of his
philosophy, you'll eventually have to answer what the color is of a tree
that falls in the forest when no one is around to hear it. There are
probably fifty different colors you'll have to cycle through to get to the
correct answer(all colors), so only talk to Herman about that if you're...
insane.

Fill the martini glass with ocean water and use the full glass with the
still. You'll get a martini glass of clean water. Then, use your crowbar
on the barrel near the parrot. You'll get one cracker. Give it to the
parrot and he'll tell you to go east to the dinosaur from the pond. There
is also a bottle on the beach somewhere that you need to pick up and break
on a rock.

Head into the jungle and go left. Keep going and eventually you'll come
across a bag that's tied to a tree. Use your broken bottle to cut it
down and you'll get a bag of cracker mix. Mix the distilled water with the
cracker mix and you'll get two more crackers. Head back to the first area
of the jungle you came into and go north to the pond. There will be a
briefcase here tied in a rope. Pick up the rope and use your crowbar on the
box. Pick up the dynamite inside. Now, follow the parrots directions and
head east. You'll come to a dinosaur. The parrot will perch itself on
top of the dino and you'll need to give him another cracker.

This time, he'll tell you to head north to the pile of rocks. Go there
and give him your last cracker. He'll tell you to go east to the bix x.
Follow his final direction and you'll come to a huge x. Herman will come
walking in and tell you there was a shortcut here all the time(-_-). Use
your shovel on the x and eventually you'll come to cement. Use one of the
matches you got from Wally's love bomb with the dynamite and throw
the dynamite into the hole.

You'll be sitting on a tiny ledge, just a few feet away from the treasure!
Combien your rope and crowbar and throw it at the jagged metal rods near
the ceiling of this area. You'll go swinging over to the treasure but the
ledge with the treasure will collapse! Thankfully, Guybrush grabs the
treasure in time. Elaine will come, and you'll be way back to where you were
at the beginning of the game.

Unfortunately, that rope has finally had enough. It'll snap and you'll go
falling. You'll go crashing down into another unlit room(haven't we had enough
of
these yet?). Look around the wall for a lightswitch and once you flip it,
guess who's here with you?

After the shocking revelation and the stabbings, head right a few times
to the first aid room. Take your fathers skull, the hypodermic syringe(in
the drawer) and the two gloves in the garbage.

Then, head into the room with all the boxes. Pick up the root bear in one,
the balloon in the other, and the kewpie doll in another. Then, head into
the room with the grog machine. Fill the gloves and balloon with helium.
Then, use the coin return slot on the grog machine. Eventually, LeChuck will
come in and bend over to pick up the coins. Take his underwear! He'll really
zap you good for that one.

Next, walk around until he comes to see you again. Give him the clean white
hankie. He'll blow his nose and give it back to you, then of course zap you.

Head to the elevator. Quickly shut the door on LeChuck. His beard will
eventually detach, so pick it up. Once you arrive at... Melee Island?! Wow..

Well, now that you're here, put dad's skull, LeChuck's beard, the used
hankie, the underwear and the kewpie doll in the juju bag. Guybrush will
shake it up and it will form... another generic kewpie doll. This doll,
however, will be BRIMMING with power!

Go back down and wait for LeChuck to show up again. Quickly use the
syringe with the doll. This will sort of bring LeChuck to his knees...kinda.
Follow him into another room and say "what would happen if I pulled this
things leg off?". Then, some really crazy stuff will happen. Luckily,
Elaine manages to make a bit of sense of it...

Congratulations! You've completed Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge the
way it was supposed to be! On the difficult mode! Yay!

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

- - - - - - - - - - - - -
+ Guybrush Threepwood +
- - - - - - - - - - - - -

The main character of the Monkey Island series. After the last game, he
reveled in the fame and fortune he obtained from defeating the ghost pirate
LeChuck. It's been a while since that happened though, and people have
started to no longer believe it. So now, Guybrush has devised a plot to
obtain the greatest treasure of all time, Big Whoop.

Albeit a little whacky, Guybrush is mostly a level-headed guy who can
get through most any predicament with ease(with a little help from you,
of course). He is in love with Elaine Marley, but sometimes it doesn't
seem like the feeling is mutual.

- - - - - - - - - -
+ Elaine Marley +
- - - - - - - - - -

Elaine is the love of Guybrush's life, but the same thing can't be said
when switched around. Elaine mostly thinks that Guybrush is...well, an
idiot. After she moved away without saying a word to Guybrush, you would
think he could of got the message. Poor Elaine...

Elaine is definitely a more stable person than Guybrush, but she still
has a bit of a crazy side to her. She definitely doesn't get into as many
  crazy things as Guybrush, though.

- - - - - - - - - - -
+ Herman Toothrot +
- - - - - - - - - - -

Herman is always "rotting" away on some island somewhere. He has never
fully recovered from his amnesia, so he still doesn't really know who he
is or much else for that matter. In MI2, Herman hangs out on Dinky Island,
where he is a practicing philosopher.

- - - - - - - - - -
+ Wally B. Feed +
- - - - - - - - - -

Wally is a cartographer on Scabb Island. He claims that he fits right in
with everyone else on Scabb Island... do you think so? I don't. He is also
a very knowledgeable guy, so make sure you ask him tons of questions.

- - - - - - - -
+ Bartender +
- - - - - - - -

Always one to uphold the law, the bartender refuses to serve Guybrush
anything until he has his library card. He is also a huge pansy who lets
Largo push him around and take his money(just like everyone else on the
  island).

- - - - - -
+ Bart +
- - - - - -

One of the pirates Guybrush is talking to at the beginning of the game.
  I guess he's a good guy because he's sterilizing Fink's eye-cotton.

- - - - - -
+ Fink +
- - - - - -

He's got an eyepatch. I guess that's cool. Plus, he also knows a bunch
of pirate and pirate-related songs. Even better, right?

- - - - - - - -
+ Innkeeper +
- - - - - - - -

Well, this guy kinda sucks because he doesn't give you a room... but you
can't blame him, I mean Largo DOES kinda have everyone on this island
in a bind. Meh, oh well.

- - - - - - - - -
+ Voodoo Lady +
- - - - - - -- -

No matter how you look at it, Guybrush just couldn't make it through any
of his adventures without the all-seeing eye of the voodoo lady. Even
though she refuses to reveal her name, she is still one of Guybrushes
  best companions during his adventures.

- - - - - - - - - - -
+ Largo LaGrande +
- - - - - - - - - - -

The asshole who's terrorizing Scabb Island. In reality, he's a weak puny
man, but because he was once the Ghost Pirate LeChuck's right hand man,
everyone on Scabb is extremely intimidated by him.

- - - - - - - - - - -
+ Woodshop Owner +
- - - - - - - - - - -

Like everyone else on Scabb, this guy hates Largo with a passion. He's
just trying to earn an honest living like everyone else! However, he is
kinda stingy on hard mode. The guy can't even give you a single nail!
  Sheesh!

- - - - - - - -
+ Mad Marty +
- - - - - - - -

If there was every anyone in the world who lived up to their nickname, it
wouldn't be Mad Marty. Maybe a few hundred years ago, but definitely not
now. He owns and runs the cleaners in Woodtick.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
+ Men of Low Moral Fiber +
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

If you played the first Monkey Island, you'll remember these guys as the
ones who tried to sell you some PTA Minutes, claiming they were a map.
Well, this time around, they're performance artists rather than con
artists. Although I think they might be using their title a little bit
  loosely.

- - - - - - - - - -
+ Captain Dread +
- - - - - - - - - -

Obviously of Jamaican origin, Captain Dread seems to be the kind of guy
who just doesn't really care too much about anything. Everything's okay,
  mon.

- - - - - - - - -
+ Gov. Phatt +
- - - - - - - - -

Probably the most obese man in the Caribbean, Governor Phatt's personality
is reflected on by his appearance(he's an ass). How anyone could possibly
take orders from this guy is beyond me, personally. Of course, it would
be pretty hard to overTHROW him, get it? Huh? Eh you don't care.

- - - - - -
+ Walt +
- - - - - -

The cute little pup that holds the keys to your freedom on Phatt Island.
  I think he's a Beagle.

- - - - - - - - - - - -
+ Gambling Operator +
- - - - - - - - - - - -

If you're playing on easy mode, then this guy is awesome. The game is
basically rigged so that you win each time. But if you play on the
hard mode, then it turns out he's actually running a rigged game! So,
depending on which mode you play, this guy can either be cool or a
  bastard.

- - - - - - -
+ Bernard +
- - - - - - -

He's the cook at the Woodtick bar/restaurant. Since he wouldn't even
give you the time of day, I guess you can't really feel bad about getting
  him fired, eh?

- - - - - - - -
+ Fisherman +
- - - - - - - -

This guy sits on the dock on Phatt Island all day trying to catch the
mutated sealife that lives around it. He's also pretty damn cocky, which
makes it all the more sweeter when you win the wager.

- - - - - - - -
+ Librarian +
- - - - - - - -

For the most part, she's a typical librarian who's always telling people
to shut the damn hell up. But once you see her get you a book....

- - - - - - -
+ Ralphie +
- - - - - - -

He's the little member of the Gambler's Club that you follow to learn
how to get the winning numbers on the game in Phatt Island. Doesn't he
look a bit young to be gambling?

- - - - - - - - - - -
+ Augusts DeWaat +
- - - - - - - - - - -

He's the Mardi Gras-crazy former governor of Booty Island. He says he
quit being governor because he never got to party... I wonder if thats
  true?

- - - - - - - - - -
+ Kate Capsize +
- - - - - - - - - -

You can find Kate on Booty Island trying to charter her ship. She's
also a former alcoholic. Well, I'm not completely sure about that, but
hey, why else would you drink what is basically alcohol-free beer?

She's also supposed to be beautiful, but pixels just don't do it for me.

- - - - - - - - - - - - -
+ Costume Shop Owner +
- - - - - - - - - - - - -

He owns the costume shop. Not much of a personality here. Then again, does
  he need one?

- - - - - - - - - - - - - -
+ Booty Boutique Owner +
- - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Owns the Booty Boutique on Booty Island. Apparently has a thing for rare
  boats. Also sells mostly junk.

- - - - - - - - -
+ Spitmaster +
- - - - - - - - -

He's the guy who runs the spitting contests on Booty Island. He's extremely
enthusiastic about what he does, which leads me to believe he isn't in the
  greatest mental health.

- - - - - - - -
+ Gardener +
- - - - - - - -

This guy is kind of an ass, but wouldn't you be too if you had to rake
the worlds biggest lawn all day? He's extremely loyal to the governor
  as well.

- - - - - - - -
+ Guybrush +
- - - - - - - -

This cute little bloodhound(is that what he is? not sure...) was named
after the main character of this game. He has an extremely sensitive nose
and can somehow sniff out anything that belongs to Elaine.

                             Section 4: Item List
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

This is a list of every item in the game(except for certain items... don't
expect to find every book in the library here!). I've also listed their
uses and descriptions to help you even more. There are two different lists
of items here. One list, the easy mode item list, has items found on both
the easy and hard modes. The second list, the hard mode item list, only
has items on it that can be found and used on the hard mode.

To quickly find an item you may be looking for, hit control-F (apple-F for
us Mac users) and type in the name of what you're looking for.

says here there were four pirates: Rapp Scallion(the cook),
Young Lindy(the cabin boy)... Mister Rogers(the first mate),
and Captain--Good Heavens! Captain Marley! (Wonder if there's
any relation?) They buried their treasure along with plenty
of-- -- uh, oh-- -- booby traps on a place believed to be
called Inky Island. They made a map which they divided into
four pieces, each man taking one. Rapp Scallion later opened
the Steamin' Weenie Hut on Scabb Island. It was a huge
success but fell into disrepair after Rapp was killed in a
flash fire. Young Lindy drifted aimlessly, down on his luck
until he mysteriously came into money while panhandling on
Booty Island. He used the cash to bankroll an advertising firm
which failed after its gross mishandling of the Gangrene 'n'
Honey account. Mister Rogers retired off the coast of Phatt
Island. He marketed homemade contest grog brewed in a
bathtub until his recent disappearance. Captain Marley
vanished while sailing in the America's Cup race. His boat
               was leading at the time.

First and foremost, I would like to thank CJayC for creating GameFAQs.com,
the world's greatest video game information resource. Second, I would like
to thank LucasArts for making some of the greatest adventure games of all
time(even though I swore to hate them forever after hearing they cancelled
Sam and Max 2).

Also, I would like to thank you for choosing this walkthrough as your guide
through this great game. As long as there are people who are willing to read
my guides, I'll keep making them.
