WALKTHROUGH I. FOREWARD Lemmings Revolution is a puzzle game. This FAQ/Walkthrough assumes that you have read the manual, understand the interface and know about the different lemming types. The games saves progress after each level automatically and there is only one save game, so NEVER choose to start a new game unless you want to lose all of your progress. I recommend making a copy of the save file at the 25, 50 & 75% marks. I chose to include the broken level (see BUG) in that to keep it simple. When you start a new game, the first thing you see is a sequence of circles arranged in columns with arrows pointing to the right until the last column marks the finish line. Each circle represents a level and unlocks access to new levels when completed. They are arranged in columns. The first column has three circles, the second has four and so on until the last one has fourteen. This FAQ handles each column in turn from top to bottom. I identify levels in the format 1:3 so that 1 means the first column and 3 means the third level in that column. When you put the mouse pointer over a circle, the top left of the screen shows important information including the number of lemmings you have, the number you must save, the time limit and the level name. There are 102 levels, of which it is possible to play 101. When you begin a level, always pause first and have a look around. There is no difference between saving the minimum required number of lemmings and saving the maximum number possible. Meet the requirement and let the rest die. II. BUG This game, out-of-the-box, has a bug and there is no version number available to reference. One level ("High Dive") does not load and crashes the game. There is a patch for the game, but it's so old it is virtually impossible to find. Remember that you can finish the game without having to complete every level because of the way you can select levels to play. I had a copy of the patch to use and I chose not to do so until after completing all other levels of the game. I don't know if the patch would change the way any of the levels play out. The patch is essentially a "patch.box" file dated June 26, 2000 that you copy into the lemmings directory to replace the original file dated April 14, 2000. I found when I tried it that the patch DOES NOT fix the problem and the level still does not load. III. WALKTHROUGH Level 1:1 "Just Climb" 10 Lemmings : Save 1, 5:00 This is tutorial level difficulty. All you need to do is set each lemming to climb and you'll save all ten. Level 1:2 "Just Float" 10 Lemmings : Save 1, 5:00 This is also of tutorial level difficulty. All you need to do is set each lemming to float and you'll save all ten. Level 1:3 "Just Bomb" 20 Lemmings : Save 10, 5:00 This is very easy too. All you need to do is set one lemming to blow up for each floor level and you'll save the rest. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Level 2:1 "Just Block" 30 Lemmings : Save 15, 5:00 You have lemmings coming out of the gate going in both directions. Pause and rotate to the right so you have a better view of the top platform. Set the first lemming to block when it is between the two supports on the right side of the top platform. This will ensure that all of the lemmings are going the same way and that you have adequate spacing between them. The first lemming to reach the left platform should be set to block after taking a few steps. Following the path going right, they will pass over the central platform and need a third blocker at the right platform. Heading left again, they will need a fourth and final blocker on the lower left platform. Now you're set to fast forward until they all reach the balloon. Nuke the four blockers to finish the level. Level 2:2 "Just Build" 20 Lemmings : Save 10, 5:00 Here's yet another easy level. You only need to build two staircases to save all the lemmings. Scroll left around the level to locate the two pits. You need staircases going up and to the left. Start each one at about the third line out on the floor from the left side of the pit. That's all there is to it. Level 2:3 "Just Mine" 20 Lemmings : Save 10, 5:00 All you need to do here is to set one lemming to dig down for each of the two floors. Fast forward and finish. Level 2:4 "Just Bash" 10 Lemmings : Save 10, 5:00 Again, you are heading left. There are two staircases up to walls marked with arrows pointing left. When at the top of these staircases, set one lemming to bash. Fast forward to speed things up. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Level 3:1 "Just Dig" 20 Lemmings : Save 10, 5:00 This is still tutorial. There are four levels, each with floors showing arrows down. Just have a lemming dig through each floor. As long as you don't dig holes directly under the previous holes, you'll save them all. Level 3:2 "Introducing - Water Lemmings" 20 Lemmings : Save 10, 5:00 Water lemmings walk on top of water, so you need to fill the pools. Set the first lemming to block after taking a few steps to ensure all lemmings head the same way. Have one block a few steps into the left platform. Have one block a few steps into the next platform. Fast forward until all lemmings have reached the balloon and nuke the blockers. Level 3:3 "Block and Bomb" 20 Lemmings : Save 10, 10:00 Set the first lemming to block so they all head left. Have the next lemming bomb a hole somewhere on the left half of the left side of this platform. Set a blocker on the second level down. Have a lemming bomb this level and set a blocker on the right side of the third platform down. Do another bomb and set a blocker on the left side of the fourth platform down. They'll all make it out and you can nuke the blockers. Level 3:4 "Bash and Mine" 20 Lemmings : Save 10, 10:00 Extremely easy. Just bash through the walls and mine through the floors where the arrows are. Level 3:5 "Sometimes up..sometimes down" 100 Lemmings : Save 50, 3:00 Here's the first real puzzle. Face the side with the water lemming gate. There are five platforms and from top to bottom I'll name them one through five. There are three key locations to note: right side 2, left side 3 and right side 4. The challenge here is that there are regular lemmings going up (due to reversed gravity) and water lemmings going down. You need to alternate on setting blockers as follows. Water right 2 (top). Regular right 4 (bottom). Water left 3 (top). Regular left 3 (bottom). Water right 4 (top). Regular right 2 (bottom). Fast forward to make your quota but time will run out before they're all saved. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Level 4:1 "Bash and Dig" 20 Lemmings : Save 10, 5:00 Here's another very easy level. As the title suggests, just bash and dig at the walls and floors with red arrows. Lemmings are starting out going in both directions, so you have two sides to take care of, but there is plenty of time and spare "jobs" for your lemmings in case you botch a few attempts. Level 4:2 "Float and Climb" 10 Lemmings : Save 6, 10:00 This level is a joke it's so easy. Position your view so you can see both gates. As each lemming comes out, set it to float. When you've finished here, pick either side and set each of the five there to climb so that they climb the wall heading in their original direction. Thus, those in the left pit should climb left and those in the right pit climb right. You'll finish with tons of time to spare. Level 4:3 "Build and Block" 20 Lemmings : Save 10, 5:00 Ok, this one is fairly easy, but I had some interface issues with it. Set the first lemming to block after taking a few steps. From this point, you're going to see points on the floor for each platform where the lines normally drawn were skipped. These are your cues. Set a blocker about two lines after each of these "gaps". Once your lemmings are contained, set one to build a staircase up to the next platform, starting at the gap-line farther from the platform. For the last level, follow the same rule but continue the staircase up with a second builder when the first finishes. Nuke your blockers when the rest are saved. Level 4:4 "Seafood Sarnie" 25 Lemmings : Save 20, 10:00 Set the second lemming out of the gate to block after taking a few steps. When the first lemming is over the last rivet before the pool, build stairs. Once he finishes, set your blocker to bomb. When your original lemming reaches the pool that has been emptied by the other lemmings passing through the red beams, set him to block just on the left side of the seam. That will keep your lemmings safe from the crab. Build stairs up and to the right starting at the third rivet from the seam. Bash through the wall. Near the platform in this next area is a seam on the floor. Count six rivets to the left of the seam and build a double-height staircase from there up to the platform. Bash through the raised section. Begin a double-height staircase up to the final platform starting from above the middle red arrow. Nuke the blocker when the others are safe. Level 4:5 "A Long and Lonely Road" 30 Lemmings : Save 20, 10:00 You have water lemmings on this level. At each wall with arrows, just bash through and at each pool of water, start the stairway up from the center point. When you reach the tall natural staircase, set a blocker near the top. Note the two wood-like circles in the ground under this staircase. Use the left one as a reference and consider that the right side of the slope up from ground level. At about two thirds up that slope, build a triple height stairway headed left. Bash through the wall and begin a double height stairway from the peak right before the edge. When you get to the area near the balloon, build a double height stairway starting over the leftmost rivet. Nuke the blocker when the rest are saved. Level 4:6 "Lems at Loggerheads" 10 Lemmings : Save 5, 10:00 Set the first lemming to climb. When he reaches the top, set him to float. Over to the right, when he drops down he is above a line on the floor. After he turns around, start a stairway at the next line over to the right. When he finishes, just set all of the other lemmings to climb. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Level 5:1 "The Abyss" 15 Lemmings : Save 10, 10:00 First, prepare to set each lemming out of the gate to Float. As soon as you have set the first eight, pause the game and locate the first lemming, who is now approaching a gap under the first platform. Set this first lemming to block. Resume setting lemmings out of the gate to Float. When that is done, pause. Locate the fourth rivet out to the left from the edge of the platform just above and to the right of where your lemmings are penned in. You want a lemming over this point. You may want to unpause briefly to let them move a little and then pause again. Set this lemming to build a staircase up to that platform. As soon as your first lemmings set foot on the platform, pause again. Prepare to set each lemming approaching the wall to climb. As soon as you've set them all, you just need to wait until they've boarded the balloon and then nuke the blocker. Level 5:2 "Kriss Kross" 30 Lemmings : Save 20, 5:00 You have regular lemmings on the left headed right and water lemmings on the right headed left. The water lemmings can take care of themselves, but the regular ones need your help. From the regular gate, there is a platform to the right they will drop to first. Place a blocker on either end of this platform to keep them contained. Now look down to the water tank over a bashable wall with arrows pointed to the right. Left of that are a higher and lower platform. You want to set a blocker on the left of this platform when the first water lemmings are reaching this point. Now they will be headed to the breakable wall. Have a water lemming bash through the wall. Now note the series of platforms that lead down to the right side you are just reaching. That is the path your regular lemmings will take. When the leading water lemming reaches a point to the right of the last platform (it need not be as far right as the metal flooring) set him to block. Pause to make it easier and set the right side regular lemming blocker to bomb. Now you just wait for them all to escape and nuke the blockers. Level 5:3 "Sergeant Bash" 20 Lemmings : Save 10, 10:00 First up, ignore the trap in the first area. It won't kill many lemmings and you'll easily rescue enough to clear the level. Just bash through the two walls marked with arrows to enter the staircase area. Note the metal in the ground beneath. Looking at the vertical beams, note the space between the last two and trace that up the screen to the natural staircase. Pick a lemming headed up at this point and set him to mine. He'll eventually break through to the balloon and all of your surviving lemmings will be saved. Level 5:4 "The Crowded House" 10 Lemmings : Save 5, 10:00 After the first lemming takes a few steps, dig down about halfway and then pause. Be careful to select the digging lemming and set him to bash. After bashing for a short distance, be carefult to select the same lemming and set him back to dig. To either side of the area there is a bashable wall. Take a moment to watch your lemming move. Identify a straggler that stands apart from the crowd. First, choose a lemming in the group ahead of the straggler and have him start bashing through the right side wall. When all of the lemmings are to the left of the straggler, set him to block. When the basher has just finished with the wall, set him to build stairs. You'll need triple-height stairs to reach the platform on the top right of this next area. Once there, have your lemming dig down through the floor. After dropping down, wait until he changes direction. Dig down about a third of the way - you will be roughly in line with the top of the pool on the left of this area. Set this lemming to bash. After bashing a short distance to the left, set him to dig down again another third of the way - you will be roughly in line with the bottom of the pool. Set him to bash again and let him break through to the final stretch of this level. Rotate around to a clear view of the balloon. There is a platform to reach and another pool in the way. When this advance lemming reaches the metal marking the right side, begin building a staircase. Set your blocker to bomb and just wait for them all to reach the balloon. Level 5:5 "One Way Ticket" 50 Lemmings : Save 40, 8:00 First, you need to dig through the floor about midway. Once you've broken through, you should find that you have the first batch of lemmings in clusters. Set one of the lemmings in the first cluster to climb. Wait for the second cluster to reach the same spot and set one of them to climb. Note the spacing between 1 & 2 and then set a third lemming to climb with abou the same spacing. As they start climbing the wall with the lever on top, set the three climbers to float so they can safely make it down the other side. As #1 reaches the left side of what was the pool, build stairs. As # 2 is about halfway along the level ground left of that former pool, set him to block. After #3 is turned around, wait until he reaches the wall again and set him to bash. Just before you set #3, #1 should just have finished the stairs, so immediately pause after setting #3 and rotate the map to see #1. Set #1 to mine down to the right. Just as #1 reaches the bottom, set him to bash. When he reaches the thin floor, set him to dig. Look over to the natural staircase #1 is approaching next. There is a spot where the ground almost breaks through the stairs. Count two or three steps to the left. When #1 has turned around and is descending at this point, set him to build stairs. You'll need triple-height stairs to reach the next platform. At the seam, build stairs up to the next platform and it should just reach. Bash through the wall. Note the rivets in the floor around the next area where stairs are needed. To the right of that obstacle are two rivets and a partial third. Where the fourth would have been is the place to start building stairs. Once you get #1 up to the thin floor, set him to block. Now set both blockers, #1 and #2, to bomb. Now you just need to wait for your lemmings to reach the balloon. Level 5:6 "Swings Both Ways" 20 Lemmings : Save 16, 10:00 First, rotate around to the other side of the level. Fast forward until the lemmings are nearing the gap here and set a blocker on each side. Now focus on the water lemmings and bash through the wall on the left side. Look at the platform with the pool of water. Set the first lemming across to float and the second to block. Set the third lemming to float. Set a blocker on the right edge of the pool platform to keep the water lemmings contained. Return to the first lemming and start building stairs as soon as he reaches the top of the natural stairs on the right side of the acid. Pause andNow for the tricky part. You've got lemming one building stairs up and to the left over the acid all the way to the gap-side. You need to have lemming three building stairs up and to the right, but he's going to stop short when he hits the stairs built by one. When this happens, have three bash through the wall on his side to slow him down. When one is climbing his stairs and is on the stair just before the one directly over the last stair built by three, pause and set him to bash. You will now have both one and three on the left side. Three will make it back to the stairs first. When he is just reaching the peak of the stairs from the left side, build more stairs. This will fill the gap. Most likely, he stops right after doing so. Regardless, you need to build stairs from this peak all the way to the right gap-side. Once you've done this, set the regular lemming blocker to bomb and save those lemmings. In order to save the water lemmings, you need to build stairs up and to the left. You need to start at about one fourth of the way up the left side natural stairs. Once completed, you can bash through the stairs a few steps up and to the right from where the two sets of stairs cross. Now you can set the right-side blocker to bomb and the water lemmings will head this way and be saved. You will have saved the minimum 16 required, so nuke the remaining blockers. Level 5:7 "Wandering Free" 20 Lemmings : Save 10, 10:00 Set the first lemming to float and, after a few steps, the second to block. Starting from between the last and second to last rivet, build stairs up to the right. From above the third to last arrow down, begin mining down to the right. As soon as the lemming breaks through the side, build stairs up to the right. Bash through the wall and build stairs over the water. In this next area, there are three platforms. Dig down in the first half of the top level. Dig down in the second half of the middle level. Dig down just at the right side of the second support beam from the left. Your lemming will float down. Wait until he is going from the right side toward the left. When he crosses the first seam and is over the first rivet, build stairs up to the left. The top stair should be in place under the gap in the third level to catch the falling lemmings. Bash through the wall, build stairs over the water and bash through the next wall. Bomb the blocker and save the lemmings. You've reached the 25% complete mark. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Level 6:1 "The Iron Curtain" 30 Lemmings : Save 20, 10:00 Set the first lemming to float. Set the third lemming to block on the left side of the first platform. Set the second lemming to block on the left side of the third platform. Wait until your first lemming is on the right side of the lowest level heading to the left. When he reaches the top of the natural stairs, build stairs up to the left until he turns around by running into the bottom of the third platform. Set him to climb. At the top of the three level area to the right, have him dig down through the first two levels and mine down through the third. Bash through the wall on the left. When he returns to the peak of the stairs you build earlier, build stairs again to turn him around. Bash through the wall on the right side now to reach the balloon. Bomb the blocker on the first platform and save the lemmings. Level 6:2 "Make Mine A Large One" 30 Lemmings : Save 25, 5:00 Start the first lemming building stairs from above the second to last rivet. Set the second lemming to block after a few steps. Have the first lemming continue building stairs to reach the right side and set him to climb. When he is on the top of the next area heading left and is directly over the metal block, mine down to the left. This is the hardest part of the level because you have to set him to bash to the left when he has mined down to a point just above where your stairs meet this area. In my game, he mined down seven times. Once you clear this part, the rest of the level is easy. When he has turned around and is again over the metal block, mine down to the right and he will break through to the upper of two platforms leading to the balloon. Just bomb your blocker and wait for your lemmings to escape. Level 6:3 "Now You're Stalking" 50 Lemmings : Save 49, 6:00 Set your first lemming to climb and float. After taking a few steps, set your second lemming to dig straight down. As soon as he breaks through, you'll have three lemmings on the lower level and one will head left. Set that one to block. Pause and return your attention to the first lemming. He should now be on the top platform in the right side of this level. Build stairs up and to the right so he doesn't just fall to the balloon and escape. Note the area with two bashable walls. You need to have your lemming dig straight down when he is directly over the line in the floor that marks the spot on the rightmost side of the space between the bashable walls. He will dig down and then climb right back out. Build stairs from the end of the metal floor to the right. When the lemming has turned around and is above the second mark from the left near the natural stairs, build stairs up to the platform. From above the leftmost mark on this platform, build stairs up the the next platform. Let the lemming float down, climb up and over and fall into the space between bashable walls. Bash through the left wall. Wait until he climbs out of this area again and has returned to the topmost platform you'd reached. Build stairs up and to the left for the final platform before the balloon. As soon as you've set him to do this, you can have any of the other lemmings bash through the right wall. When they've all reached the balloon, nuke the blocker. Level 6:4 "Escape to Victory" 45 Lemmings : Save 40, 8:00 Have your first lemming start building stairs up to the first platform on the right. Have your second lemming bash through the base of those stairs. As soon as your first lemming can reach the platform, have him bash to break out of stair building mode. Watch for the first of your main batch of lemmings to turn around so you can start mining down the left where the balloon is. When the lemming on the platform reaches the first or second gap over the area with the pool, mine down and let him die. The boxing enemies on their way will fall down here and you'll be able to just wait while your lemmings escape. Level 6:5 "Lets Play 'Catch'" 10 Lemmings : Save 5, 5:00 This one may take a few tries even known how to do it. First, take a moment to look at the wall to the right side of the starting area and the logs beyond that. Notice how the logs go up and down in height. The second peak is a key point. Now to begin - Set the first four lemmings to climb. Prepare to set them to bomb. When the first lemming reaches the center of that second peak, set him to bomb. About a third of the way between the center of this log and the next, the second should be set to bomb. About two thirds of the way, set the third to bomb. When the fourth is atop the center of the log right after the key point, set him to bomb. For what should happen, you need to look at the one and only gap among the logs. Each bomb makes a hole down and to the right. The end result is that a lemming heading this way should fall a short distance from the upper logs to about halfway into the lower logs and take a step or two before falling a second time into the lower area. Once you've bombed out that way, set a lemming to climb and float. Wait until he reaches the lower level and turns around. As soon as he is on the ground level, build stairs. These stairs should peak under the point where lemmings will be falling. Set the rest of the lemmings to climb and they should be saved. Level 6:6 "2 Sides to Every Story" 50 Lemmings : Save 40, 10:00 Focus first on the water lemmings at the top of the level. When the first one has turned around and is at the far left of the platform, set him to block. Pause and look at the regular lemmings. You need four of them out of the gate to travel upside down. They will head to the right on the first platform and drop to the second. One should already be there. Set this one to block after taking a few steps. With three other lemmings out to walk upside down, set the next one out of the gate to block and contain the rest that will appear. Back to that second platform, the lemmings will head left and drop up to the third platform. Set a blocker here to turn the remaining two to the right so they will fall up to the fourth platform. Set one more blocker here to send the last one to the left. He will fall up to the ceiling and continue to the rings that flip him back to normal. Bash through both walls so that the water lemmings will be saved and then pause. Look at the current platform. On the far left, just at the edge is a line in the floor. The next one over is where you will want to begin building stairs. This should take you just over the head of the blocker and drop your lemming onto the next platform. If you do get turned around, wait until your lemming is under one of the bashed walls and try to build stairs to turn back. When you reach that next platform, you will want to turn around. On the left side, build stairs up to the underside of another platform and turn around. Your lemming will head to the right and drop down to a small platform. At the far right side, build stairs up to the next platform. Your lemming will proceed and drop down to the metal floor. After turning around at the metal wall, your lemming will drop down to the very bottom of the level. The left side is blocked and your lemming will turn and head to the bashable wall. Go ahead and bash through this one, but start to build stairs over the balloon so your regular lemming isn't saved yet. When you've crossed the balloon, you can bash to break your lemming out of stairs mode and keep going right to bash through the final wall. All of the regular lemmings will now be saved, so nuke the blockers to finish. Level 6:7 "Wood You Believe It? 50 Lemmings : Save 45, 5:00 First, set a blocker for the regular lemmings. I chose the spot where the line in the floor was skipped, but it really doesn't matter as long as they are contained. Turn your attention to the water lemmings. Set the first lemming to block so that they don't escape yet. On the left side of the pool, start building stairs up and to the left beginning from the metal. Note the lever farther to the left. One lemming needs to reach this point. Letting one by, set the second lemming headed left to block. After the lever-lemming has flipped the switch, set him to block. You should now have the pool draining and a stairway that peaks roughly below the edge of the lower of the two platforms above. In the pool, you need to build stairs up to the right side. Begin them between the third and fourth floor rivets from the left side. This will be a double-height stairway. The water lemming that was blocking to prevent early escape can now be set to bomb. Turning back to the regular lemmings, set any of them to dig down. They will drop to the lower of the two platforms. When they reach the right side, they should fall safely to the stairs. After all of the lemmings have been saved, nuke the blockers. Level 6:8 "Wheelbarrows of Doom" 100 Lemmings: Save 98, 4:00 Pause when the second lemming is dead center over the log shaped support under the floor and set him to block. Set the first lemming to float and climb. Fast forward and your lemming will go all the way to the right and hit the first switch up above that drains the acid pool. After he is turned around and drops to the lowest of the metal platforms, build stairs across to the platform that runs to the bashable wall. Bash through the wall. Using the leftmost log shaped support as a guide, build stairs up to the left starting from just to the left of that log. The stairs will span the gap and your lemming will turn around. Looking at the floor nearer the emptied acid pool, note how the topmost natural stair is thinner than the floor your lemming is currently on. From the last of the floor, begin a stairway up to the acid pool. You may need to go double height to reach that pool. Once you have, set your blocker lemming to bomb and fast forward to save your lemmings. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Level 7:1 "Designed with love" 99 Lemmings : Save 85, 10:00 Wait until the third lemming is just appearing and pause. Set the second lemming to block. Set the first lemming to float. Rotate around to the right where you can see on the upper level a laser tripwire and a set of un-inversion rings. Roughly midway between these two, look straight down to the ground level. There is a pattern on the ground with subtle changes in color. You should be looking at approximately the center of a patch bordered by two thicker bands of darker green. This is a crucial point to locate. In the foreground, there is a wooden post. When rotating the view, the post passes the center of the screen at about this point. From this point, you need to have your lemming build triple-height stairs. They will rise up to the right and get him in at the relatively narrow gap between the next platform and the log platform above. This platform is level for a distance to the right and then slopes down. From the last point on the right where it is level, build stairs up to the next platform. From the right edge, build stairs to a longer platform that has a laser tripwire. This will lower the water in the pool. At the far right, begin building double-height stairs to span the gap to the platform where the balloon is. Rotate the map so you have a clear egde-on view of where the stairs will be over the leftmost edge of the log platform. Pause as soon as this gap is covered. Set the lemming to bash so that he breaks out of building stairs and falls to the log platform. The metal blockade will turn him around and you need to pause immediately and set him to build stairs. The first set of stairs will be aborted when nearing the existing stairs, but will be only one or two away from covering the gap to those existing stairs. Wait until your lemming returns to this peak and build stairs again. When the gap is covered, he will cross over to the first set of stairs and continue heading to the left until he floats down and falls into the drained pool. The laser tripwire here will open up the balloon area. You can now set your blocker to bomb and fast forward until your lemmings have escaped. Nuke the last one to end the level. Level 7:2 "Penelope Lem Stop" 32 Lemmings : Save 32, 6:00 Look only at the upper lemming gate. Set the first lemming to mine immediately. Set both lemmings from here to float. From this point, you are only working with the first lemming. He will be turned around and go through inversion rings. As soon as he is upright again on the wooden platform, mine down. Begin bashing through the bashable wall. Count five bashes. Visually, it is when he has just cleared the first red arrow. Mine again. Set him to climb. At his point, that second lemming will have hit a switch that opens up the way for this first lemming. When he climbs up, he will hit a switch that lowers the platform that all of the others have reached. All the lemmings will now be saved. Level 7:3 "How do we get up there!" 50 Lemmings : Save 50, 4:00 First, note that time is very tight on this level. I've actually saved all 50 lemmings and failed the level because there wasn't a second left. Set your first lemming to climb. He will go over the metal block. When he falls off the other side, set him immediately to mine. When he gets near the wall, dig straight down. When you have gone down to just below the wall, bash across. As a visual cue, I positioned the mouse pointer at the right level and waited until my lemming was completely in the box. Keep bashing until there is just room to build stairs out. Break out of bashing mode by building stairs. Turn your attention back to the main group. Pause when a cluster of lemmings is over the rivet just right of the seam. Set any of them to build stairs. Return to your first lemming. He will climb out of the trench. When he reaches the center of the left side of the acid pool, build triple height stairs up. When he has completed the third set, he should be completely over the platform. Dig straight down to destroy a few stairs. Pause and return to the main group at the trench. Have any of them build stairs up to the right to exit the trench. Back to the first lemming, when he has turned around, begin building stairs just before the third rivet from the wall. They'll need to be double height. Fast forward and your lemmings are saved. Level 7:4 "There's only one way down" 25 Lemmings : Save 10, 5:00 This one is very easy. Set the first lemming to block after a few steps. When the second lemming reaches the breakable floor, mine down. Fast forward to save them and then nuke the blocker. Level 7:5 "What a fantastic pair of birds" 20 Lemmings : Save 20, 5:00 First, wait until your second lemming is out and pause. Set the release rate up to maximum. Have the first lemming dig straight down, but after he digs four times stop him by telling him to build stairs. As soon as the last lemming is out of the gate, set him to mine. When he turns around and is under the seam in the roof left of the starting point, mine again. As soon as he breaks through, build stairs over the gap. As soon as he reaches the wall, bash through. Begin mining immediately. When you are near the bottom, bash across. When you are over the bird to the right of the balloon, set the lemming to mine and pause. Return to the main group contained in that mini-trench. Locate a lemming on the right side that has turned around. You may need to unpause and pause a few times. Set this lemming to build stairs. Fast forward to finish. Level 7:6 "The lone ranger" 100 Lemmings: Save 90, 10:00 The main set of lemmings will take a longer route through teleporters. Set the first lemming to float and to build stairs. This will turn him around. He will fall down to the bottom of the level and eventually turn around. Look at the floor approaching the "cliff". Start building stairs at the seam. You won't finish before the others arrive, but you can save one by setting him to float. The last part is setting lemmings to bomb through the walls. For each wall, count nine rivets to the right. That is the point at which to set a lemming to bomb. When you have cleared all the walls, fast forward to finish. Level 7:7 "Swarthy seadogs!" 100 Lemmings: Save 99, 10:00 Wait until the second lemming is out and pause. Set the release rate to maximum. Set the first lemming to dig straight down. After he digs four times, set him to build stairs. When the last lemming is out, set him to mine, float and climb. As soon as he is turned around, pause. Locate a lemming in the main group who is on the right side of the mini-trench and is headed left. Have that lemming build stairs. Your lemmings will soon be safe in the drained pool with your active lemming dropping down to the second platform. Directly below the metal edge is a line in the floor of that second platform. Count five lines to the left. At five, mine down to turn around. Between four and three, begin building stairs up. Let your active lemming drop down to the floor and approach the lever. Mine down shortly before the lever to turn around. Like before, count out lines from the edge of the previous platform. At about six, build double height stairs. On approaching the mine before the lever, build stairs over both. When the lever is cleared, return to the main group and pause when they are about center and headed left. Pick one in the middle to build stairs up to the left. Fast forward to finish. Level 7:8 "Build 'em up ...then bring em down" 50 Lemmings : Save 45, 10:00 When your first lemming reaches the edge, dig straight down. Set the second lemming to block. Set a blocker on the other edge of this area. Dig down to the level at which the horizontal seam is on the first metal pillar. For each piller, build stairs. If your stairs end just as you get over the piller, that's good. Most often, you'll need to break out of building stairs by digging straight down when you are safely over the pillar. When you reach the non-metal platform right before the sloped area, make note of the space between the third and fourth rivets from the top of the last metal pillar. At the right edge of this non-metal pillar, dig down to that level and then build stairs across. Bomb the right blocker and fast forward to finish. Level 7:9 "Love train boogie" 25 Lemmings : Save 25, 10:00 Despite the clock, there is no time to spare in this level. Set the first lemming to immediately build stairs to get turned around. Set him to climb and float. As soon as he is up the wall and on breakable ground, dig down. As soon as he returns and is standing on the metal pillar, begin building stairs and bash as soon as they span the gap. From this point, there are a series of walls to bash and pools to build stairs over. When building stairs, don't start early and make sure to bash as soon as they span the pool. You want to shave off as much time as you can. Eventually, you will reach the meaningless lever and fall down into the larger open area. After getting turned around and passing over the balloon, dig down and bash through that wall. You will only have four stairs to use to turn lemmings around to save them, so if you get through this wall too late, you'll have to start again. By doing as I've said here, I was able to break through in time and only needed to turn around my active lemming. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Level 8:1 "Bounce around the world!" 50 Lemmings : Save 46, 5:00 Rotate the map so that you can see both starting gates and on the right side the balloon is partially visible. We'll designate these two sides as left and right. After a few steps, set the first left lemming to block. After a few steps set the third right lemming to block and then set one and two to float. Set two to dig down through the first breakable floor. Set one to dig down at about three lines out in the second breakable floor. When two is below the midpoint of the central metal platform, begin building triple height stairs. When completed, they peak near the hole dug by one. Bomb the left side blocker and fast forward to save the lemmings. Nuke the blocker to finish. Level 8:2 "Lock In" 14 Lemmings : Save 11, 10:00 Pause immediately and set the right side gate to max and the left gate to minimum release rate. Unpause and set the first water lemming to bomb. Set the remaining three water lemmings to float. Turn your attention to the upper metal wall left of the balloon. Directly below that, count three lines in the floor to the left. You will note that there is a darker streak in the ground beneath this point. Start building stairs here. When the third lemming gets here, also have him build stairs. When the first one finishes the first set, begin building the second set of stairs and count eight, then pause immediately and set him to bomb. Get the third lemming building stairs again and turn your attention to number two, who is now near the acid pit. Have two build stairs up until he turns around. Three should be heading in on the right side of the acid pit and should also build stairs over it, coming in under the stairs built by two and turning around. As three reaches the original set of stairs and the platform, count five rivets from the right side and build stairs up to the wall. When he turns around and reaches the base of the stairs, build stairs up to the balloon. Meanwhile, monitor two and ensure that stairs from the right side completely span the acid pit and reach those from the left side. You should now have a safe path in both directions. Wait until the main batch is just turning around at the left side and set the leader to bomb. The resulting hole will be at about the center of the platform and near the peak over the acid pit. Lemmings headed right will reach the balloon. Some of the lemmings will be headed to the left. Sometimes they will be turned around at the point where the left stairs rise over the right stairs. If so, great. If not, pause as the stragglers reach the peak and have one build stairs up to the left. Repeat on several passes until the stairs reach the platform and force them to turn around. You should have plenty of time to do this. Level 8:3 "Under and Up" 60 Lemmings : Save 48, 5:00 This one is much easier than it looks. Count out to the space between five and six rivets left of the teleporter. Build double height stairs. While you are doing this, a couple of lemmings will get through and trigger the wall below, which also drains the acid pool. The stairs will get your lemmings to the pool. On the right side, note the square and the rivet at its bottom left. Count two rivets out and build stairs up to the platform with the teleporter. Your lemmings will now be going to the area below. After they drop down to the floor, get all the way left and turn around, you need to build stairs up to the teleporter. Start from beneath the right edge of the L shaped metal. Fast forward to finish. Level 8:4 "Nice shootin tex!" 50 Lemmings : Save 42, 4:00 First, look at the upper platform and locate the spot between the fifth and sixth rivets from the breakable floor on the right. When the first lemming is at this point, pause and set him to bomb. This will partially break the floor on the far right side. Very shortly after this, the first lemming on the lower level will reach the right side of the metal spot in the floor. Pause and set him to build stairs. Next, locate a lemming on the upper level who is at the far right of the breakable floor. Pause and set him to block. Return your attention to the stairway lemming and set him to build the second and third sets of stairs. Pause and locate the lead lemming on the lower level. He's approaching the water and you need to set him to block. Return your attention to the stairway lemming and build stairs up until you can build only one more time. At this point, your stairs rise over a platform that is currently inset into the background near a counter that reads 5. Set your stair lemming to block when he is done building. Look at the upper level and the metal wall on the right side. Look at the rivets on the roof and locate the space between the right edge of that wall and the first rivet in the roof. Look straight down to where that intersects your stairs. When a lemming is descending the stairs at this point, build the last stairs up and to the left. You can now bomb the blocker at the top of the stairs. The stairs should still reach to the platform. Five lemmings must fall to trigger the platform at the top of the stairs. Set any of these five to float. Now you can bomb the blocker over the breakable floor. Fast forward to save the required number of lemmings and nuke to finish. Level 8:5 "Water way to go." 30 Lemmings : Save 25, 10:00 Focus first on the regular lemmings and bash through the wall. Locate the space between the third and fourth rivet to the right of the raised level you need to reach. Start building stairs here. When the first of your lemmings turned around has passed to the right of where lemmings arrive by un-inversion, block. Move your attention to the regular balloon. As soon as the first lemming has dropped down to this final area, let him take a step and then block. When the next lemming has just turned around here, set the blocker to bomb and pause. Turn your attention to the water lemmings. The advance lemming should be about halfway over the platform. Set him to block. Return to the regular lemmings and bash through the wall. Set the first lemming through the wall to climb. Turn back to the water lemmings and fast forward. The trap will not reach them before the platform opens and they drop to their balloon area. After you have met the quota for this level, nuke to finish. Level 8:6 "Quick as you can!" 101 Lemmings: Save 96, 4:00 Pay attention to the left lemming gate. There will be only two lemmings coming from here. After the first takes a step, set him to block. After the second has fallen halfway down, set him to float. Turn your attention to the main batch. Set the first one to climb as a stalling tactic. Watch for your active lemming to reach the breakable floor and mine down. Watch for the first of your main batch to reach the thin wall on the middle platform and bash through as another way of delaying them from reaching the pool. After your active lemming flips the switch, have him dig straight down to prevent him from switching it back. Set the lemming gate to maximum release rate. Build double stairs up from the middle of the drained pool. Fast forward to save your quota. Nuke to finish. Level 8:7 "Watch out! Evil about!" 50 Lemmings : Save 45, 6:00 When the first lemming reaches the right side edge, block. When the leading lemming has passed to the left of the entry point, build stairs up. Take your time at this point. What you want is one lemming blocking to the left of the entry point with one active lemming to the left of this blocker. When you are set up like this, have the active lemming bash through the wall and immediately build stairs across the gap. As soon as he turns around, build back the other way. Repeat back to the left. Repeat to the right. Repeat to the left. Bash through the wall and immediately build stairs to the balloon. Bomb the left side blocker. This will take out the base of your stairs, so build stairs up again starting from the middle of the double-plank section of floor (where a line has been skipped). If it looks like your stairs will reach the wall, bash to break out of building mode. Fast forward to save your lemmings and nuke to finish. Level 8:8 "Take Her to Warp Speed, Captain" 25 Lemmings : Save 12, 8:00 Have the first lemming mine down through the breakable floor. After the first lemming hits the switch to the left side, the wall will close behind him. The next lemming will hit the switch on the lower platform and close the floor while opening the wall on the right. At five rivets out from the end, build stairs up. At the last line in the floor before the purple obstacle, mine down to the right. This takes your lemmings to the middle platform. On the lower platform, you want one active lemming on the left, one blocker on the left and one blocker on the right. When I did it, the timing was very close, so I'm not indicating a particular sequence here. Have the active lemming bash through the wall on the left and then immediately build stairs. After the stairs cross over the stange device below (not sure what it does), mine and drop down. After a step or two, mine down into the lower passage. When the trap is on the right side of this area, have a lemming build stairs out over the left blocker. They should all clear this area with time to spare before the trap can get them. Nuke the blockers to finish. Level 8:9 "Bridges" 53 Lemmings : Save 48, 3:30 Set the first regular lemming to block and set the regular release rate
to maximum. Set one of the acid-proof lemmings to climb. He will climb over the obstacle with left pointing arrows. As soon as he falls down to the ground on the other side, mine down. He will hit the metal and turn around. He will flip the lever that drains the acid. Have him bash through the arrow obstacle. In my game, one of the other two lemmings did not descend with the acid level, leaving only one to handle. Assuming that both descend, you want the lever flipped so that there is a path over the yellow pool and you want one lemming set to block so that the lever isn't switched back - but only block after the active lemming is climbing out the left side. As the active lemming descends the slope, about midway you need him to build stairs up so that the regular lemmings don't fall to their deaths. After this, you can bomb the regular blocker. As they start to make their way down the stairs, have the leader block. Fast forward to save the lemmings and nuke to finish. Level 8:10 "Walk the plank or join the crew?" 100 Lemmings: Save 75, 15:00 Focus on the lower lemmings first. Set the first lemming out to block. Set the second lemming to climb and float. Turn to the upper lemmings and set the first one to block. Return to your active lemming. After he has fallen to the ground, build stairs over the pool. As soon as they cover the gap, bash to break out of building. Bash at the base of the steps up to make a tunnel under the portal. Fast forward to when he is about to break through at the left side and have him build stairs all the way up to the metal wall. Locate the point between the last two rivets on the balloon platform. When the active lemming is directly below this point, build stairs up to the metal platform. It should line up as a turn-around point. The active lemming is a climber and will get up on this platform and go through the gate. On the other side, build stairs up over the gap and bash through the wall. The lower bunch of lemmings will make their way up to the stairways. Just a little to the right of the midpoint of the upper gap, build stairs up to the left. Keep the builder going past the balloon. If needed, bash through behind the builder to save the other lemmings. The builder will continue beyond the balloon and hit the laser tripwire that gets the enemy below to stop flipping the switch back and forth. He will leave it with the wall on the upper level open. Bomb the blocker to free the remaining lemmings and let them escape to the balloon. Nuke to finish. You've reached the 50% complete mark. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Level 9:1 "Bamboo Maze" 50 Lemmings : Save 48, 5:00 This is a very easy level. First, there is only one way to go, so dig down through both breakable floors to the metal floor. Then bash left to the lever. One of your lemmings will trigger the trap on the right with the counter. This lemming needs to get to the lever below. I chose to go to the right, down, left and down. The other two active lemmings can then break through the wall on the right, dig down to avoid the teleporter and dig down again to the final area that leads straight to the balloon. Finally, have any of the main batch of lemmings dig down so they can escape. Nuke to finish. Level 9:2 "Can't Get There From Here" 50 Lemmings : Save 49, 6:00 First, position the cursor so that the left side is in line with the right side of the entry gate. When the first lemming is at the yellow dot in the center of the cursor, mine down. Two lemmings will turn around before the first lemming breaks through to the lower area. Set those two to climb. Timing here is very tight and can make this level very frustrating. Position the cursor so that the left side is in line with the edge of the upper level and trace this down to the ground. Have the first lemming mine down here. Unfortunately, the next lemming is too close and will just keep going. Have him mine also after taking a few steps, but before getting too close to the metal to turn around. Meanwhile, your climber lemmings need to be handled. When the first of them (A) reaches the middle of the area bordered by metal walls, dig straight down. If you've missed this, have the second (B) do it. If (A), when the second one has turned around and is in this pit, set both to bash. They will go in opposite directions, but that is ok. If (B), when the first lemming has turned around and is in the pit, mine down and have the digger bash when the miner hits the wall, then bash through the uneven ground on the right side. When either one has just turned around on the right side, mine down. They will reach the next area and begin climbing up the long wall. When the first one is at about the midpoint of the metal wall on the right, set him to bomb. Ideally, the second climber will pass through this gap on the first try. If not, you need to set him to float and then mine down to the right at the bottom so he turns around at the metal - and remember that you need ground above him to do this since he climbs. Once through the hole in the wall, your lemming will hit the laser tripwire and lower the water level. After turning around and passing back through the laser, mine down. He will break through the floor and drop down to the lower level. Mine again. When you have gone down at least as far as the ground, bash. Now you can have one of the other lemmings build stairs out to the left and again at about the fourth rivet from the left of the pool. Level 9:3 "Lemmings Four the Drop" 4 Lemmings : Save 4, 5:00 Look at the balloon. Going to the right from there, we'll number the lemmings as one through four. One starts out heading right. Have him dig down through the floor. At the right edge of the platform, build stairs up to the side of the next platform. One will turn around and be saved. When Two is heading left, dig down. At the left edge of the platform, build stairs up to the next platform. Two will throw the lever on the way to the balloon. When Three is heading right, set him to dig and to float. At the right edge of the platform, build double height stairs up to the floor. When I did it, he hit the floor and built several steps in the opposite direction. He MUST be heading left. On the left edge of the platform, build stairs up to the next platform. Repeat to the next platform. Now Three has reached the starting point of Two and has a clear path to safety. When Four is heading left, have him dig down. Fast forward to finish. Level 9:4 "Booby trap. 50 Lemmings : Save 46, 8:00 Set the first lemming to climb and to float. Pause and immediately set the release rate to maximum. Unpause and wait until the leading lemming is heading left and is just to the left of the last lemming. Set that leading lemming to block. Turn your attention to the climber. Beyond the breakable floor is a breakable wall. Bash through that. Fast forward and he will turn around and flip the switch that opens the way for the other lemmings. Fast forward to the end as they pass through the portal and reach the balloon. Level 9:5 "Hit 'N' Run" 11 Lemmings : Save 10, 10:00 Note the first line in the floor to the right of the accelerator. Have the first lemming build stairs upon reaching this point. This will bypass the first lever which releases an enemy. After all lemmings have dropped to the floor beyond the stairs, have the last lemming mine down three strokes and then bash. This will delay him while the others get into position. When this lemming has just bashed through the last section of wall before the pit, build stairs and he will turn around. Fast forward until he is upside down on the roof and headed to the un-inversion rings. Have him mine down two strokes and then bash. Just to be safe, set him to climb as well. Right around those un-inversion rings, he will hit something and resume normal movement, passing beyond the rings. He will flip the switch that opens the way for the others to escape. Have him block. After the other ten are safe, nuke to finish. Level 9:6 "The high dive" 40 Lemmings : Save 20, 5:00 BUG : This level does not load. Even after applying the only patch I could find, the level crashes the game when it is being loaded. Level 9:7 "Battle o' Lemmuckburn" 50 Lemmings : Save 43, 10:00 Pause immediately and set the release rate to minimum. Focus on the breakable ground to the right of the starting area. Have the first lemming mine for three strikes and then bash. Have the sixth lemming out of the gate block after a few steps and set the release rate to maximum. You have five lemmings in the lower area. At about the midpoint of this area, set one mining down in each direction. When the right side miner is down far enough, bash right. Set a blocker somewhere along his mine to keep the others out. When the left side miner is near the bottom of the breakable ground, bash left. Set a blocker somewhere along the bottom half of his mine. You now have a left side basher who will be useful later, a lemming trapped between two blockers in the middle, and a right side basher that is heading for the pool area. Set this right side lemming to float. When he reaches the edge before the drop to the pool, build triple height stairs. He will fall down to the right side of the pool. Bash through the wall and he will be killed by the enemy there. Wait until that enemy drowns in the pool. Turn your attention to the left side lemming. After the enemy below has flipped the switch to the right so that the pool is drained, have this lemming dig down so that he comes down to the right of that lever and dig down to his death and the impending death of that enemy. Turn your attention to the lemming in the middle. Set this lemming to float and climb. Bomb the right side blocker. At about three steps up the long stairs, mine through. When he reaches the next bashable wall on the right side of the pool, bash through. He will flip a switch that brings out the floor on the left side of the pool so the other lemmings won't die from the fall. Bomb the blocker at the main batch of lemmings. Watch your active lemming again and as soon as he begins to climb the wall on the right, pause and set him to bomb. He will blow a hole in the thin section of wall up above. Look at the drain on the right side of the pool and note the space between the first and second rivets to the left of that drain. Have a lemming build stairs from this point to the right side. Set any lemming approching the wall on the right to climb. Look at the metal wall on the right side of this section of ground and the one down below to the left of that wall. Using these as a guide, have that climber mine down to the right from the midpoint between the walls. He will hit the right side wall and turn around. When he reaches the surface, mine down to the left. At the same level as the floor, bash through. You're almost there now. When the main batch of lemmings is crossing the peak of those two mines, set the last one to build stairs and have him bash when the stairs cover the gap. Fast forward to save the required number of lemmings and nuke to finish. Level 9:8 "Feeling Gravity's Pull" 66 Lemmings : Save 50, 6:00 First, note that there is a central column with the main group of lemmings and that the left and right sides are mirrored. Wait until the second lemming on the left side is on the third platform from the top and set him to block. Mirror this on the right side. Turn to the central column and set the release rate to maximum. Pause when the partial floors move out and have a lemming at one side of the main group dig down. Turn back to the two active mirror lemmings and have both mine down. When they drop to the lower floor approaching the gap, build stairs after two steps. They will span the gap and then cross over. Have both bash through the breakable walls until they are halfway across the breakable floor and then dig down. Set them both to climb. We'll now name them Left and Right. Ignore Left one for now. Have Right bash through the breakable wall and immediately build stairs to the inversion rings. Now it is Left's turn to bash through that wall and build stairs. When Right has been un-inverted, build double height stairs from the right side of that platform all the way to the metal wall. Next it is Left's turn to build those stairs. As Right turns around, note the metal floor above and begin building stairs from under the space between the left and center rivets. Do the same for Left when he gets there. When Right becomes inverted and reaches the edge, build stairs to the metal wall. Do the same for Left as he gets there. After Right flips the lever, dig down and set him to bomb. Do the same for Left when he flips his lever. You will have saved the required fifty lemmings. Nuke to finish. Level 9:9 "It's a hard life" 50 Lemmings : Save 45, 7:00 First, turn to the side with the balloon. After a few steps, set the first lemming to block and to bomb. Set the first lemming turned around to bash through the wall. Turn to the other lemmings. Set the second lemming to block and the first lemming to dig down and float. Fast forward until the floater lemming is on the ground and has turned around. From directly below the fourth rivet from the edge of the left side metal floor, build double height stairs. You will get turned around a few times, but that is OK. Meanwhile, that basher will have hit the metal wall and turned around. Pause and note the circle in the bashable ground above. Position the pointer so that the top of the cosshairs is just in line with the leftmost portion of the grey color. When the lemming reaches the yellow dot in the pointer, set him to mine down. You can ignore him from this point as he will be killed by the trap. Returning to your other active lemming, when he has just turned around at the wall at the top of the stairs, build more stairs up to the left. About midway across the gap, just mine down. As he approaches the turnaround point at the base of the natural stairs, Build stairs up. Now, note the bottom end of the mine and the vertical edge beneath and to the left of it. Note the distance from the vertical edge to the edge of the mine. It should be about the same as the right side of the + shaped pointer. Line the bottom of the pointer up with the right side of the metal in the ground. Directly beneath the right edge of the pointer is a slightly darker coloration in the floor. Line the bottom of the pointer up with that. When your active lemming reaches the yellow dot in the pointer, build stairs up until they meet the mine. You may be turned around a few times, but that is OK. After being turned around at the top of the mine, build stairs over the gap. Bomb the blocker at the main group of lemmings and fast forward to finish. Level 9:10 "Waste not...want not. part 1" 10 Lemmings : Save 10, 10:00 Set the first lemming out to climb and float. After the second lemming is out, set the release rate to maximum. Turn right to the area just beyond the lever. Note the left edge of the wooden platform above. When your lemming is under this point, mine down to turn around. Turn left to the next platform down. This is the only hard part to the level. You need to mine down such that your lemming turns around. Mine too soon and you climb over the wall, too late and you fall down. Note the seam in the metal floor above. Count five rivets to the left. I started mining from just right of the point directly below the fifth rivet. I had to replay the level several times to get beyond this point. Once you do, it's easy. As soon as your climber lemming is headed right and is under the wall above, dig straight down. He will walk through the laser tripwire. I'm not sure that's strictly necessary, but it worked for me. When that lemming has just been inverted, dig through the double level platform. After being un-inverted, he will climb over a metal wall and drop down to a wooden platform. Build stairs up to the right to reach the area with the other laser tripwire. As soon as the stairs reach that bashable wall, bash through. As soon as that lemming passes through the tripwire, dig straight down to reach the balloon. Now watch for the other nine lemmings coming along that wooden platform and headed for the stairs. The one advance lemming should mine at about the third step up so that they fall safely down to reach the balloon. Fast forward to finish. Level 9:11 "Ouch me head" 50 Lemmings : Save 50, 5:00 After a few steps onto the breakable ground, have the first lemming dig for four strokes, then pause and build stairs. Set the release rate to maximum. Have the lemming that got past the pit begin building stairs from just slightly to the right of the last line in the breakable floor before the edge. He will drop down to the first metal pillar. Build stairs from here. As soon as he has finished the last step, dig straight down and pause when he reaches the ground so you can set him to build one last set of stairs. Once he finishes those stairs, the path is ready. Pause and look at the pit full of lemmings. Locate a lemming on the right side of the pit that is headed left. Have that lemming build stairs. Fast forward to finish. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Level 10:1 "Topsy Turvy" 100 Lemmings: Save 98, 10:00 Note the patch of breakable ground on the lowest level. From between the first and second rivet on the right, build stairs up. This will be a turnaround point. Pause as soon as your builder is facing left and build more stairs to reach the left side platform. Your lemming will become inverted. Dig through the breakable ceiling. Wait until you are at the section of ceiling under the lower floor of the pool above and dig. Note the un-inversion rings and the breakable wall to the right of them. Count out to the space between the eighth and ninth rivets and set the first lemming here to bomb and then to climb. He will break through, opening the way for the next lemming. At the edge before the pool, build stairs. At the base of those stairs, build stairs to the right. Wait until this lemming has passed the lever before letting one of the main batch of lemmings build stairs to get out. Your advance lemming needs to build stairs over the inversion rings on the way down and then dig through the two sets of stairs used to get up to this platform from the ground. After that, fast forward to finish. Level 10:2 "The Legend of Smelly Belly" 15 Lemmings : Save 15, 10:00 The first area will only allow five lemmings out at a time. Begin by building stairs from between the first and second rivets to the left of the seam in the floor. After reaching the next platform, build stairs beginning from the center of that first segment of floor that runs from the edge to the seam. Set all five lemmings to float. Be wary of an interface problem where lemmings on the opposite side of the map are sometimes selected. Once the stairs reach the metal wall that can be climbed to the top area, set all five lemmings to climb. The builder will be ahead of the others, so in that upper area have him build stairs until they catch up and dig down when the first one is just behind him. Have the last of the five to climb the right side ledge build stairs up to the right to the upper tripwire. This releases the next five. Set these five to float. Have the leader dig through the long stairs up and set them all to climb. Focus on your original lemming and at the left edge have him build stairs up to turn around, then dig through to drop down to the ground. As the second group of five is jumping off the middle level ledge, have the last build stairs up to the lower tripwire. This releases the last five and you can set them all to climb. Have the first of these dig through the first staircase. Have your tripwire lemming build stairs at the edge of the platform to turn around and dig down to escape. Level 10:3 "Where's Carol Vorderlem?" 10 Lemmings : Save 4, 20:00 The goal here is to hit all four laser tripwires and then send four lemmings to the un-inversion rings located directly above the balloon. Start by setting the first lemming to float. Have the second lemming dig down after a few steps. Have your floater lemming build stairs over the inversion rings. Turn back to your digger and have him bash. When your floater is in the center of his area and headed left, build stairs up to the wall. Your basher will break through into the tripwire area and three lemmings will become trapped there. You will have at least two lemmings remaining in the tunnel. Assuming only two, have one bash left and one dig down toward the next level. Set your floater lemming to climb and have him bash through the upper arrow wall to free the three lemmings there. Have your digger bash. It doesn't matter which way he goes as long as he reaches the tripwire on that side. When the upper level basher has reached the left side tripwire, bash (if needed) to the right to fall down the pit to the lower level and bash in the opposite direction from the lower level lemming. Meanwhile, have your climber lemming bash through the lower arrow wall to open the way for the lemming that is or will be in there. When the area over the balloon is clear after hitting all four tripwires, have one of your lemmings dig down through the stairs to the inversion rings. Fast forward to finish. Level 10:4 "Use the Force Lem..." 100 Lemmings: Save 99, 3:45 Set the first two lemmings to float. Look at the floor below for the triggered walls. Just to the outside of these points, have the third and fourth lemmings dig straight down. Set the release rate to maximum. When the right side floater is heading left, set him to climb. When the left side floater reaches the metal wall in the floor, build stairs up to reach the lever. After the climber gets out, drops down and flips the switch, you reach the one hard part of this level. On the lower level, locate the leading lemming heading left and set him to block. Over several attempts I simply could not do this because of the interface and I got lucky in having all but one of the lemmings heading in the right direction when the lever was flipped. When your climber is at the far left ledge, build stairs to the main stairways. Fast forward to save your lemmings and nuke the blocker to finish. Level 10:5 "Scale that wall...." 50 Lemmings : Save 46, 5:00 Set the first lemming to float and climb. Set the second lemming to block while on the right end of the platform that will be opened later. Have the first lemming build stairs starting from above the second and third rivets left of the seam. In the main group, when two lemmings are to the left side, set the third one to block while standing on the left end of the platform that will be opened later. Continue the stairs up so that the original lemming flips the switch and opens the big wall. When he is at the right edge, build stairs. Pause and switch to the left side where your other two lemmings are now inverted. Set the first of the two to block. Your original lemming will reach the top of the pillar over the pool. Have him build stairs. The inverted lemming will be approaching the edge and should build stairs over to reach the lever. That will open the gate near the enemy and give your original lemming time to climb the wall, which he will be starting to do about now. After he flips the last lever, the platform under the main group opens and they fall to the area with the balloon. This knocks the blockers out of that mode and you should now have saved the required number of lemmings. I chose to nuke and finish, but if you really want to you can save the original lemming. He will be coming along the passage at the very bottom of the level and just needs to bash through the wall. Level 10:6 "Going in all directions" 50 Lemmings : Save 44, 3:15 After the first lemming appears, pause and set the release rate to the minimum. After the fourth lemming appears and takes a few steps, set him to block. Pause and set the release rate to maximum and the second lemming to float and climb. Have the first lemming build stairs at the edge. The stairs will just barely span the gap in time for the third lemming. Have the third lemming build stairs at the next edge and set him to climb. When the first lemming is climbing the second stairs, set him to block just behind the builder. The lower lemming should build double stairs up at the right edge. The climber will make it to the thin floor above. Set him to block and bomb at the left side of the thin floor. When the lower lemming is heading left, build stairs from where the next rivet would be if the platform were a bit longer. When he turns around, build stairs immediately. Pause and bomb both blockers. If your builder gets turned around, just set him to block after he climbs the metal wall at the left of this area. Fast forward to save the required number of lemmings and then nuke to finish. Level 10:7 "Rocket Science." 50 Lemmings : Save 30, 5:30 Set one of the lemmings to climb and we'll call him One. After the others start to turn around, set one to climb and we'll call him Two. At the midpoint of the left side platform, have One build stairs up and form a turnaround point. At just left of the middle of the three rivet section of floor approaching the laser tripwire, have Two build stairs over the tripwire. The moment One has reached the bottom of the stairs he just built, pause and have him mine down. Just as One is about to break through, set him to bomb. At the middle of the empty pool, have Two build double height stairs. Somewhere near the wall, have Two mine down four strokes and then bash a tunnel under the wall. Pause and find any lemming from the main group that is headed left and is just left of the right side wall, roughly over that rightmost rivet. Have that lemming build double height stairs to reach the mine. Have any lemming coming down the stairs One built build stairs over the mine. Two should be on the right side of the wall by now. Build stairs to break out of bashing and turn around. Build stairs under the wall to turn around. Build stairs up to the floor. Have Two bash through the wall. Fast forward to finish. Level 10:8 "Time is of the essence!" 50 Lemmings : Save 48, 3:20 At ground level, set the second lemming to block and then after the third lemming is left of where the others drop, have him block too. Have the first lemming build stairs just before the right edge of each platform. When you get to the one beneath the tiny platform, Allow slightly more room - about one step - and build double height. He will reach the upper platform and drop down to the lower platform. Begin building stairs at the right edge all the way to the balloon. When starting to build the second set of stairs, bomb the right side blocker to free the main batch of lemmings. After the main batch has moved on, bomb the other blocker. Finish that long staircase and fast forward to finish. Level 10:9 "Odd Jobs." 100 Lemmings: Save 99, 6:00 Set the first lemming to climb and float. Turn your attention to the right where the natural stairs head up to the left. Fast forward until your lemming reaches the midpoint between these stairs and the edge, using the darker color in the floor at this midpoint as a marker. At that point, mine down to the metal wall to turn around. Now turn your attention to the far left and the metal floor over the pool. Starting above the leftmost rivet, mine down to the metal wall. After turning around, mine down to the pool. At the top of the natural stairs, bash through. At about the midpoint of the hollow area, dig down. At the top of the next natural stairs, bash through. Now pause and locate a lemming in the main batch that is at the left and just turned around. Have that lemming mine down to the right through the arrow floor. Fast forward to finish. Level 10:10 "Reduce and Simmer" 20 Lemmings : Save 16, 10:00 Set the release rate to the minimum. Look at the left edge of the rightmost wooden platform above. From beneath this point, have the first lemming build stairs. After a few steps, have the second lemming dig four times and build stairs. Set the first lemming to climb. His stairs should stop just at the wall and he will climb right away. If he gets turned around, just mine down in the area between the lever on the left and the pit with your lemmings and build stairs to turn around. At the top area, go a distance and mine down, building stairs to turn around. Trace your stairs to the top and have your lemmings mine down to the left from that point. Now release the main group by pausing, locating one on the left side who just turned right and build stairs. As they make their way up, have any one of them build stairs over the turnaround mine. Fast forward to finish. Level 10:11 "Waste not...want not.part2" 10 Lemmings : Save 10, 10:00 Set the first lemming to climb and float. Look at the area to the right and note the edge your lemming will be approaching. Position the pointer directly over the fourth rivet from the end and move it right the width of the yellow dot. Set the lemming to mine at this point. When he has turned around and is just about to step up to ground level, bash. That will slow him down and he will be somewhere between the last and second to last lemmings in the main group. On the approach to the switchable walls, have him build stairs starting at the midpoint between the seam and the next rivet. The stairs will lead up to the metal floor and he will turn around. He will turn back at the mine and climb over the top wall, proceeding to the laser tripwire. He will climb over the bashable wall and drop to the balloon area. As soon as he lands, mine to turn around. Fast forward to finish. Level 10:12 "Touch the ground turn around." 20 Lemmings : Save 19, 1:35 Pause and set the release rate to maximum. As soon as they are all out and on the ground, pause and set the second to last to block, then to bomb. Note the natural stairs to the left. As soon as the last lemming has just gotten onto this stair, begin building your long stairway up to the balloon. If you don't slip up and let him take more than one step during the entire stairway, he will finish just above the ground and be saved, followed shortly after by the main group. You've reached the 75% complete mark. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Level 11:1 "Which Switch is Which?" 50 Lemmings : Save 48, 4:00 Pause and set the release rate to the minimum. Set the first and second lemmings to climb and float. Turn to the right and fast forward until the first lemming drops to the ground. Mine here for four strokes and pause. Turn to the other side where your lemming is approaching a lever. Before he reaches the lever, set him to block. Turn back to the miner. As soon as he mines enough to have an overhang on the right side, build stairs to turn around. Find a lemming in the main group headed left and set him to climb and float. Now, I'm not 100% clear on the sequence, so here's what each one needs to do. The right side lemming needs to build stairs at the left edge to the wall and then build stairs over his mine to reach the balloon. The left side lemming needs to turn around at the blocker and bash through the wall. On the lower level, he needs to build stairs at the right edge to turn around and build stairs at the left edge to turn around and flip the switch. That will open the right side wall for the main group and they will escape. Nuke to finish. Level 11:2 "When Two Tribes go to War" 20 Lemmings : Save 18, 10:00 Focus on the acid lemmings. Set the first one to block in the middle of the platform. Set the second one to float. Set the third one to block on the left end of the platform. After the floater turns around, set him to climb. When he reaches the ledge, have him bash through. As soon as he bashes the last section of wall, build double stairs up. Turn to the passage on the right side, noting the first seam in the ceiling. Starting anywhere to the right of that seam, mine down until there is an overhang and build stairs to turn around. When headed left and directly under the seam, mine down and pause. Turn to the water lemmings. Have one begin bashing to the right. Turn back to the miner. When his reaches the point under the arrow wall, he is lower than the approaching tunnel. Build stairs and turn around. When the acid lemming has turned back to the left, build stairs over the long mine. A short distance later, begin another mine. Have any water lemming build stairs over the turnaround mine to reach the balloon. After all water lemmings are to the right of the acid lemming, you can build stairs to have him stop mining. As he approaches the stairs over the turnaround mine, bash through and turn around. Build stairs over the latest mine and bash through the arrow wall. Turn to the first area and notice the vertical wall above the stairway. Build stairs up to the left wall from beneath this wall. When your lemming has turned around and finished climbing the right side stairs, bomb the right blocker. As your lemming approaches the turnaround mine, build stairs over. He will turn around. Approaching the last mine he dug, mine through the stairs. Fast forward to save your lemmings and nuke to finish. Level 11:3 "Bash Street Kids" 70 Lemmings : Save 64, 10:00 Set the first water lemming to block. Set the first acid lemming to climb. Set a blocker in the left of the acid lemming area with one lemming to the left. As the first acid lemming nears the gap, build stairs. Bash through the wall. After he reaches the laser tripwire, set the blocked in acid lemming to dig down, float and climb when he is headed right. He will trigger the next tripwire and all the flooring is in place. Set a water lemming to block and bomb at the thin arrow wall. Save all the water lemmings. Bomb the water lemming blocker and set an acid lemming to climb. When the acid lemming is at the stairs over the gap, dig down. Set an acid lemming to block and bomb at the wall. Fast forward to save your lemmings and nuke to finish. Level 11:4 "Let's get those fingers moving" 15 Lemmings : Save 12, 5:00 Set the first lemming to float. After a short distance, set the second lemming to mine. After the third lemming turns around and reaches ground level, mine to the left. After your floater turns around, begin building triple height stairs from above the third rivet to the right of the seam. On the way down, build stairs to the right from directly above the seam. Pause at this point and set all of your lemmings to climb. Once the first lemming begins climbing, have any lemming build stairs over the right side mine. Fast forward to finish. Level 11:5 "Something Fishy!" 50 Lemmings : Save 49, 5:00 Pause and set the release rate to maximum for the box you are looking at. Set all five lemmings to float. As the reach the left side, bash. Locate the fourth step from the top above. Build stairs to the left from the left edge of this step. Down below, build stairs to the right from directly beneath the right edge of the metal wall. Those stairs should extend over the natural stairway. Up above, set a lemming to climb and have him bash left at the top. In that upper area, locate the double-width section of floor and build stairs up to the left from the left line of that section. When the lemmings begin to reach the tunnel, have any one of them mine starting from just left of the entrance. Fast forward to finish. Level 11:6 "T is for Teamwork" 2 Lemmings : Save 2, 10:00 Set both lemmings to climb and float. Call them Right and Left. After passing the wall that will close, have Right build stairs. When Left is at the lever, build stairs up. When he turns around and reaches the same point, build stairs and bash once you clear the gap. When Left is on the small platform and over the right rivet, build stairs. When Right climbs out of the pool, bash through the first layer of wall and then mine. When Right is approaching the natural stairs, build stairs over the tiny gap in the floor and bash once clear. At this same time, have Left bash through the wall. The timing between Left and Right can be very tight from this point, so watch them closely. When Right has just been inverted, dig through to be un-inverted. Have Right build stairs over the tiny gap and bash once cleared to reach the teleporter. After Left has been through the teleporter, build stairs at the edge. Build again to delay until Right hits the tripwire that opens the wall. Have left bash to continue once the wall is open. Have Right build stairs from the edge to the wall and then build stairs under the floor to turn around. Just after Left has been accelerated, Dig down to the platform right of the tripwire. Fast forward to finish. Level 11:7 "Don't Let them out!" 50 Lemmings : Save 40, 5:00 Pause and set the release rate to the minimum. At the edge, set the second lemming to build stairs. Have the first lemming dig down to the water. Have the third lemming block at the base of the stairs. Have the fifth lemming block after taking a few steps. Once the enemies below have drowned, bomb the right blocker to release lemming number four. When he gets to the lever, have him mine down seven strokes and then bash. Bomb the blocker at the main group and set the release rate to maximum. Once the tunnel extends a short distance beyond the wall, build stairs to stop. Have any lemming build stairs there to place a step up. Set any lemming at that point to block and bomb. Build stairs out through that hole. Fast forward and then nuke to finish. Level 11:8 "Speedy Gonzalez" 53 Lemmings : Save 52, 4:00 There are three boxes releasing lemmings in this level. You start facing one I'll call Box Three. Ignore this one entirely. To the left a short distance is Box Two. Set the first lemming here to block when he is on the retractable floor over the metal floor. Your active lemming will be the only other one from Box Two. Turn left to Box One. This is your main group. Set the leader to block when he is to the right of the entry point. Look at the ground below. Note the first line to the right of the metal floor. Have your active lemming build double height stairs from this point. He will flip the lever. Bomb the main group blocker now. Look down to the drained pool. Locate the midpoint between the second and third rivets and then move right by the width of the yellow dot in the pointer. From exactly this point, build stairs left. Look at the path below. Turn all the way right to where one step in the natural stairs is too high and would serve as a wall. Fast forward and have the first lemming here mine down from this last step at the wall. He will just break through to the balloon area with his last stroke. Fast forward to finish. Level 11:9 "Goonies" 50 Lemmings : Save 48, 3:45 When the first lemming is at the edge, build stairs and set the second lemming to block. Upon placing the fourth step, have the first lemming mine to proceed. Starting from under the metal wall, build stairs up to the breakable ground. Immediately upon turning around, pause and build stairs up to the metal wall. About four steps from the wall, when your lemming is about one step below the floor level, build stairs up to the right. He will stop one or two steps from the wall. Build stairs again to force completion of the stairs. Bash through the wall. After passing over the retractable wall, dig down. At this point, have any lemming in the main group build stairs over the blocker. Turn back to the active lemming and all the way to the right end of the passage. Note the small metal wall lower in the ground. From above the midpoint, mine down. Fast forward to save your lemmings and nuke to finish. Level 11:10 "Lemming be thy name..." 60 Lemmings : Save 51, 5:00 There are two boxes in this level releasing lemmings. Ignore the one directly over the balloon. Turn to the other and set any two lemmings to float and climb. The rest will die. Turn right beyond the arrow wall and look at the natural stairs. There is the ground at the wall, stairs up, a landing and more stairs up. The sixth stair up from the landing is slightly longer than the others. Have the first lemming start mining at that point. Have the other lemming mine just behind that. When the second lemming drops to the ground below with the teleporter, have him block where he lands. Fast forward and then nuke to finish. Level 11:11 "'Tanks' a Lot" 76 Lemmings : Save 76, 4:00 Ignore the water lemmings and focus on the one regular lemmings. Ignore the trap, it is only a distraction. Fast forward until your lemming is on the natural stairs and the trap has broken through. About halfway between the last remaining steps on either side of this gap, build stairs. At the top of the natural stairs, build stairs. Build stairs again, but bash as soon as they cover the gap to the ledge. Set your lemming to climb and float. As soon as he triggers the laser tripwire, build stairs to turn around. Back down on the ledge, build stairs starting from above the left rivet. Fast forward to finish. Level 11:12 "Two Laps Finale" 50 Lemmings : Save 50, 6:15 This is a tricky level that makes use of an exception to the rules. Pause and set the release rate to the minimum. Above the last rivet, build stairs. At the base of the stairs, have the second lemming block. Set the release rate to maximum. Set the builder to float. As soon as the floater lands, build stairs over the gap. Note the retractable wall and the three lines in the floor to the left of it. From the middle line, build stairs up until your lemming turns around. Wait until he turns around at the wall and is climbing the stairs at a point above the peak of the lower stairs that span the gap. Mine down at that point. He will go through the teleporter and descend the natural stairs. From the last step before the floor, build stairs up to the balloon. As you finish, you will have only one bomb and one stairs left. Set the blocker to bomb. At the moment before he explodes, he will be selectable again. Pause and set him to build stairs. Fast forward to finish with all lemmings saved. Level 11:13 "The Diving Board" 100 Lemmings: Save 98, 5:00 Have two water lemmings block to keep the water lemmings contained. Have the last regular lemming build stairs when he is just to the right of the tunnel. The stairs will just finish at the metal wall. Immediately after turning around, build stairs up to the area with the lever. Once the lever is flipped, bomb the left side blocker to free the water lemmings. Look at the bashable wall under the left end of the pool. Have your regular lemming bash through here. Fast forward and then nuke to finish. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Level 12:1 "Green with Envy" 15 Lemmings : Save 15, 10:00 This level is confusing at first, but it isn't so bad overall. There are three paths: left, right and down. Each path leads to a teleporter to the balloon. Each path has obstacles that only one type of lemming can pass, but a tripwire will cover those obstacles. Each path will only admit five lemmings. When I did this, I think there was a bug and it under-counted my lemmings, allowing six through one gate, but here is the solution. I believe that this is the correct sequence, but watch your lemmings closely. Have the first regular lemming dig down four times and build stairs to contain your regular lemmings. Set the first water lemming to climb, so he can get over that pit. Set the second water lemming to mine as soon as he arrives to turn around the other four water lemmings. Set the second acid lemming to dig straight down. Set the third acid lemming to mine as soon as he arrives. Set the next acid lemming to climb after he turns around. Set the last acid lemming to mine after he turns around. Have the leading water lemming on the left bash through the wall before the pool. Have the climber water lemming build stairs over the mines and pit to take the right side path. Bash or mine those stairs so the acid lemmings don't escape yet. Have the left side acid lemming build stairs up to the upper level, starting from the fourth rivet out from the wall. Stop and review your situation. The left side path is closed and you have essentially rescued four water lemmings and one acid lemming. There are five regular lemmings contained in a pit. There are two acid lemmings contained between mines. There is third acid lemming in the acid pit below. There is one acid lemming and one water lemming taking the right path. Set the acid pit lemming to climb when he is headed right. Set the right path acid lemming to build stairs to the upper level with the acid pool and tripwire, starting from beneath the seam. Have the water lemming bash through those stairs to take the lower level path with the water pools and tripwires. Now you have two paths open to any lemming type. The right path will accept three more and the down path will accept two more. Have the acid lemmings build stairs to make their way to the right path. Have one regular lemmming who is headed right set to climb and take that same path. Have any other regular lemming dig down. Fast forward to finish. Level 12:2 "Anger, Hate, Love" 50 Lemmings : Save 40, 5:00 Set the release rate to the minimum. Set the first lemming to climb and float. When he reaches the top of the wall, build stairs. Turn to the left and when the second lemming reaches the edge, build stairs. At the same time, have the third lemming build stairs to delay him (may not be necessary). Have the first lemming build again. As soon as he places the fourth step, set him to bomb. Set any lemming headed right to climb and float. When he reaches the top of the stairs, set him to bomb. Set another lemming to climb and float. Put the top of the pointer at the top of the stairs. When this one falls to the yellow dot, set him to bomb. Set a third lemming to climb and float. He will flip the switch. Set a fourth lemming to climb and float. When he is beside the fourth rivet from the top, set him to bomb. This will break the stairs at the top leaving only one step on the metal wall. Locate the midpoint between the box and the right side wall. The ground is darker at that point. Locate the left edge of that darker ground. Build stairs up from here. Set the release rate to maximum after you complete the stairs and lemmings are reaching the platform safely. Fast forward to finish. Level 12:3 "All In..." 51 Lemmings : Save 51, 5:00 Turn to the right where there is a lever below the end of the path. When the first lemming has turned around and is on the second step up, mine. There are some lemmings to the right. Have the last of these dig down just right of the wall and set him to float. He will flip the switch and turn around. Set him to climb. Have any lemming bash through the left side wall. Have the climber bash through the next breakable wall and build stairs at the edge to the gap in the arrow wall. Meanwhile, the one lemming below is approaching the pool. Build stairs from the last line in the floor to turn around and have him bash through the arrow wall (as a backup in case the climber fails). The climber's stairs should end just clearing the gap so that he drops onto the arrow wall. Build double stairs starting from the second line from the end. On the second set, bash as soon as it clears the gap to the teleport platform. Fast forward to finish with all lemmings saved. Level 12:4 "LEMTRIS" 50 Lemmings : Save 50, 3:00 This is a very simple but difficult level. Pause is disabled and the only thing you do is set each lemming to float. Don't even try to rotate the view - it only makes it harder. Once you set all fifty to float, fast forward to finish. Level 12:5 "No clues ...hee hee hee hee!" 50 Lemmings : Save 40, 10:00 First, start from the middle of the floor at the faded line and build stairs up to the left wall. Bash through to the next area. On the metal floor, you need the following arrangement from left to right : lemming one, blocker one, lemming two, blocker two, lemming three, blocker three. Have lemming one mine down at the wall and then bash through the wall to release your enemies. After they have both passed under blocker one, bomb him. When lemming two reaches the fourth step from the top, mine down. As soon as he breaks through, build stairs to turn around, with at least one stair placed to cover the gap. Look at the cliff face he will be approaching that is keeping the enemies contained. From five lines out mine down to free them. After they fall down and hit the laser tripwire, bomb blocker two. Have lemming three build stairs over the mine to reach the balloon. Bomb blocker three. Fast forward to finish. Level 12:6 "Last one to the top....." 30 Lemmings : Save 29, 5:00 Set the release rate to the minimum. Have the second lemming bash at the base of the stairs. Turn right to the acceleration gate. Build stairs starting from between the second and third rivet after the gate. Turn back to the main group. At the left end, have the leading lemming dig down two strokes and then bash. The main group is now contained. Have the active lemming build double height stairs from above the fifth rivet at the next metal floor. Now both dangerous areas are covered. Build stairs three times starting at the last rivet to turn around. Set him to float. At the small tunnel, build stairs to turn around.
From the right edge of the sixth wooden stair, build stairs up to reach the laser tripwire. Have any lemming build stairs up to the right. When they reach the turnaround stairs, have the leader mine. Fast forward to finish. Level 12:7 "The Long and Winding Road" 20 Lemmings : Save 5, 5:00 Set the first ten lemmings to float and then pause. Locate the leading inverted lemming. Set him to mine and the next one to block. As soon as the miner breaks through, have him build stairs. The stairs will just cover the gap. After a few steps, dig straight up. At the right end of the floor before the un-inversion rings, dig again. Bomb the blocker and fast forward to finish. Level 12:8 "Just you wait" 100 Lemmings: Save 98, 4:10 Set the second lemming to block directly under the right flap of the box. Set the fourth lemming to block directly under the left flap. Set the Left and Right active lemmings to float. As soon as Right drops down one step, dig straight down. When Right reaches the ground in the area approaching the teleporter, note the small step up. As soon as Right takes that step, build stairs three times. This will lead up to the teleporter area and turn Right around. Set him to climb. Locate the bashable wall that is right of the two teleporters. When Right reaches this point, bash through. Now turn to Left and when he is headed right, set him to climb. Turn to where Right dug down. When Left is above the left rivet before this, build stairs. When he is done, bomb the right blocker to free the main group. Fast forward and then nuke to finish. Level 12:9 "Turn on! Tune in! Switch on!" 100 Lemmings: Save 94, 3:45 Set the release rate on both lemming boxes to the minimum. Look at the breakable ground between them. Have the first lemming from the left mine down through this. Look left to the other breakable ground. When a lemming reaches the metal ground on the left side, block. When the next one turns around and is one rivet to the right, mine. Turn back to the first area. Set the two leading lemmings to climb. Skip the next lemming and set the fourth one to block at the bottom of that mine. Have the third lemming build stairs from between the second and third rivet up to the next area. Turn back to the other mine. As soon as the first lemmings set foot on the metal floor and the leader has taken one step from the wall, block. Set the release rate to maximum on both boxes. Turn back to the other area and locate the bashable ground in the metal passage. When your stairway lemming reaches this point, bash through. Look at your inverted climbers. There is a ledge followed by a ceiling with a lever. At the second rivet on that ceiling, have the first lemming block. The other will drop to the ledge. Build stairs there. Fast forward until the bashing lemming has flipped the first lever and is centered over the breakable ground. Dig down. Wait until he flips the lever and is again centered over the breakable ground. Dig again. He will flip the third lever. Bash through the wall and set him to float and climb. As soon as he is inverted and on the ceiling, pause. Set the blocker holding the main group to bomb. The inverted lemming will proceed to flip four switches. Each one opens one platform and closes the last. Your lemmings will arrive safely at the other end and a drained pool. From the second rivet, build stairs out to the balloon. As soon as you save your lemmings, nuke to finish. Level 12:10 "My friend the end" 50 Lemmings : Save 49, 3:30 Set the first lemming to float. Set the second lemming to float and climb. Set the third lemming to float. Pause as soon as the first lemming has turned around at the left side and build stairs. Turn right and locate the one lemming up above. Set him to float. Turn right to the lever he will be approaching. Note the seam to the left of the lever. Build stairs from that point. Watch the lemming coming through the teleporter below and to the right. Set him to build stairs as soon as he is on the ground. Have the upper lemming bash after placing the ninth step. When the lower lemming has turned around and is on the third step, build stairs up to the teleporter. Turn to the other end of this teleporter. Just left of the midpoint of the last two rivets, build stairs and dig down after placing the ninth. Turn left to look at the other lemming who is now headed left toward the switch he had just flipped. Have him block and bomb. Set the release rate to maximum. When the other lemming is just dropping to the ground after climbing the wall, have any lemming from the main group build stairs at the top of their stairs. Let your active lemming take one step and build stairs. When he is in the final area approaching the bashable wall, build stairs over that wall from under the left rivet of the low part of the ceiling. Note the metal in the ground up ahead. Build double stairs from the right edge up to the balloon. Fast forward to finish. Level 12:11 "My finest moment" 50 Lemmings : Save 49, 3:00 Halfway between the right side of the counter and the line in the floor to the right of that you need to have the third lemming dig. This will contain the other lemmings. Pause and immediately set the release rate to maximum and watch the first lemming. Note the gap under the floor. Locate the lines above it that are immediately to the left and right of that gap. Have the first lemming mine from the left side heading left. Have the second lemming turn around and mine from the right side heading right. Watch until the first lemming breaks through and takes one more stroke. Set him to build stairs and pause. Your second lemming should now be at the same height as the pit. Have him bash to the right to release the lemmings there. The first lemming will complete the stairs and drop to the platform. Locate the small support beam at the far left of the platform. From above the right edge, mine down. Turn left and bash through the wall there. Finally, build stairs over the pool. Fast forward to finish. Level 12:12 "Mission Impossible" 20 Lemmings : Save 20, 2:00 This is an easy one. Turn to where you see all four balloons. From the top left going clockwise, we'll number them One through Four. Begin with One and set the first lemming to dig down after taking a step. In Two, have the first lemming build stairs starting from above the fifth rivet. In Three, bash through the first pillar. In Four, set a lemming headed left to climb. When he reaches the top of the first pillar, dig down. In One, your digger should be low enough to bash left all the way to the open area, so bash. In Two, build stairs from the last line before the edge and Two is done. In Three, bash through the second pillar and Three is done. In Four, dig down when the climber is on the second pillar. Build stairs from above the fourth rivet left of the seam and Four is done. In One, bash through the last wall and build stairs from over the seam. Fast forward to finish. Level 12:13 "Race Against Time" 45 Lemmings : Save 45, 3:00 The timing here is tight and I finished with no time to spare. First, set the falling lemming to float and climb. At the last rivet before the edge, build stairs. Turn left to the main batch. Set the leader to float and climb. Note the metal in the ground. I'll call it the metal compass. From directly above east, have the second lemming dig down. Turn your attention back to the builder. Directly above the second to last rivet in the floor before the wall, build stairs. When he turns around and is on the lowest step, build stairs. Turn back to your digger and have him build stairs to stop when he is directly right of the uppermost rivet in the compass. Have any lemming there facing left mine once to form a turnaround for the climber that is heading back. Turn to the balloon area. Beneath the lowest step, mine down to turn around. Above the northeast rivet, mine down to the left. Turn your attention back to the pit. Your climber should just be climbing out. Have any lemming in the pit facing right mine down. Set the release rate to maximum. Turn to the balloon area. Note the metal block in the ground before the broken stairs. Directly above the left edge, build stairs. Fast forward to finish (barely). Level 12:14 "It's Going to Take Time" 100 Lemmings: Save 99, 10:00 Set the release rate to the minimum. Have the first lemming build stairs at the right edge. Have the second lemming build stairs at the left edge. When the first lemming finishes, he will be side by side with the third lemming. Set them both to climb and float. Set the first lemming to turn around on the right side and reach the edge to block. Set the release rate to maximum. Turn right to the retractable wall near the pool. When your two lemmings reach the right edge of the metal floor here, have one build stairs and immediately pause and set the other to mine. The miner will turn around when he hits the metal wall. After passing over the metal floor at the retractable wall about one step beyond the left edge, mine down. Turn slightly left and you will see the pool above to the left. At around the same time, you will need to set the upper lemming to build stairs at the left edge of the drain to turn him around and you will need to have the other lemming dig down on that thin wall he will climb. From this point, you need to watch them both because the exact sequence can vary between attempts at completing this level. The lower lemming needs to bash through the thicker walls and dig down the thin walls. The sole exception will be the thicker arrow right wall which you will skip over at this time to keep the lemmings contained. While you manage that lower lemming, the upper lemming needs to do the following. Having turned around at the second pool by building those stairs, he will head left to the arrow left walls. Bash through only the right wall and leave the other intact for now. He will head right again. Midway between the fourth and fifth rivet from the wall, build stairs. Next he will be in that second pool again. Midway between the second and third rivets to the right of the seam, build stairs. This will get him out of the pool without flipping the switch back. Bash through the two arrow walls that surround the lever. Look at the wall up ahead. Counting the rivet at the edge as the first, locate the space between the fifth and sixth rivets and build stairs there. For some reason, the lemming always turns around here. Let him go all the way back to the arrow wall and bash through. As he approaches the metal wall, build stairs to turn around. At about this time, the lower lemming will have turned around at the blocker and is on the way back up. Watch for him to reach the first pool and have him build stairs starting from between the second and third rivet left of the drain, counting the rivet at the left corner of the drain as the first. At exactly 4:00, have any lemming in the main group bash through the arrow wall. Meanwhile, the upper lemming will continue forward to the stairs he built. At the left edge of the metal floor in the next area, build stairs and then bash through the wall at the higher level. Before the next wall, dig straight down. At this point, you need to ensure that there is an overhang on the left. You need one of your lemmings to climb out of the right side of the pit, turn around, fall back in and mine left at the bottom of the pit to create that overhang. The other lemming can bash right to finish the path to the balloon. Fast forward to rescue your lemmings while the trap is out of the way. Nuke the blocker to finish. Having completed every level other than the one that crashes the game, it is very disappointing not to see any kind of ending whatsoever. Even so... Congratulations! You've reached the 100% complete mark.
