GOTHIC III: Forsaken Gods, enhanced edition 2.01 NOTE: This walkthrough was created while playing the enhanced game version 2.01. Some things that happens do not occur in earlier game versions. SILDEN: First Inner compound (Anog's area). The hero awakens in a room. Anog is beside him. He is the ruler of the village. He gives an overview of the situation and assigns the first quest: Obtain 5 letters of recommendation from the villagers. Then Anog leaves the room. TIP: In game version 2.01, instead picklocking a chest with a left click, then opening it and taking the items, when your picklocking skill is high enough you can just right-click and automatically take everything from the chest. If it's a red lock chest, you have to left click. Pick up all you can find in the room, especially the sword and 3 packs of weapons. Pick-lock and loot the 3 chests. Equip the hero with the sword and the ring you found in the chests. Armors, amulets, weapons, ... As you can steal and loot so much, money is not a big issue in the game. Just remember who is selling the best items and buy them when you are fit enough to use them. TIP: If you plan on using the cheat console, if you want y, you have to hit z on the U.S. keyboard. If you want z, hit y on the U.S. keyboard. See the end of this walkthrough for information on activating the cheat console. If you want an _ hold down Shift and hit / . If you want an hold down Shift and hit \ . i.e. it's BIG TIP: The best and precise way of entering cheats; before even starting the game, create a text file and type all the commands you desire, then save the file. Then start the game, AltTab to desktop, open the text file and highlight the cheat you want, then copy it. AltTab back into the game, open the cheat console and paste the cheat and hit Enter. BIG CHEAT! Several times in this walkthrough you'll be escorting an individual or a group of individuals to a certain town. Before starting on the journey, in most instances, you can avoid encounters with enemies and animals by making yourself invisible; invisibilitz on a U.S. keyboard, then just walk on past enemies. Just make sure your followers are close to you. Go down the outside steps and go around to the right. There's an Innos shrine (will be useful to increase life, mana, endurance, and learn new spells by using your learning points). Speak to Gerbrand ( goto BlackSmith ), the blacksmith, to get information on the situation. He can train you, including sword sharpening, and he is a trader. You can loot his house (it's safest to become invisible before trying this) if he's not inside, including the weapon Krush Splitter. But you're likely to be seen and he attacks. Then you'll have to start over. In front of the smith is Anog's house. Read the book on the shelf for Ancestor Knowledge. If Anog is not there, you can loot the house, including the heavy chest and a normal one (for the heavy chest, you have to come back after you have learned the lock pick II skill). Second Inner compound. Passing through the Inner compound gate, go inside the house with 2 wheels above the main entrance. Inside you can find a chest and some food in a wheelbarrow and on shelves. Leave the house. Near/in the house facing you, there is Kunz ( goto Kunz ). Besides trading weapons, he is looking for "THE Inn". Inside the house with skulls over the door, there is a stand book providing an Alchemy bonus. There's an old chest. Inside/near the house below Kunz's, you find Nisin ( goto Nisin ). He explains that his moral was very low but he is feeling good again since last night. Later, you'll understand that both Kunz and Nisin were referring to Isabelle, the Innkeeper's wife. Nisin sells potions and recipes that are not very great, because you'll never lack these potions in the game. Third Inner compound (Inn area). Going further down, you enter a third Inner compound that is larger than the first two. The first house NW contains nothing interesting. The next house south has a large chest. If anybody is outside, they'll probably see you, SAVE, then sneak and rob it. Next, just west, there is an Inn. Near the entrance a Trader has protective and magic items. Nearby, Isabelle ( goto Antons_wife ) refuses to speak at this time. She's usually only here during the daytime. Inside the Inn, Anton ( goto Anton ) talk on all always top option, he needs your help to collect rent from Barnabas. There's also a merchant. DON'T bother anything here at the Inn. Outside, go up the steps, on the side of the Inn, to the second floor. There's some food on the table. In the field in back of the Inn, Tahbert ( Silden_Shepherd_02 ) is guarding the cows but won't talk at this time. Just south of the Inn is the laboratory of Cornelius ( goto Cornelius ). He believes himself to be an alchemist. Talk always top option. He'll give you a quest. You can sneak/loot his chest. Going further west, past campers, there is a storehouse. Outside there, two hunters won't speak. There's also a trader. Inside the storehouse, there is a metal chest. By the door is a Bundle of weapons. Outside, up the steps on the side, a bundle of weapons in the doorway. Outside, don't pick up any Bread crumbs. Later, they'll lead you to a quest NPC. Fourth Inner compound (Fighting pit and Fishers' huts). Back east to the Kunz Inner compound, at the central campfire, go SW and enter the fourth Inner compound. The fight pit is a good place to acquire strength, but you'll not do any fighting there till much later. For now, in the pit, there's 2 side tunnels where a metal chest, bundle of weapons, food and a large sword can be found. Meryl ( goto Meryl ) sharpening his weapon near the fight pit, gives a quest. West of the grind wheel, on the lake side, there is a hut with a chest to sneak/loot. The next fisher's hut, birds on the roof, is Oelk's ( goto Oswald ). He needs your help. There's a chest to sneak/loot. A small shed to the south has several tools. The next hut, just east, is the Fisherman, talk. Inside is a chest to sneak/loot. Just due east, Jurgen ( goto Silden_Shepherd_01 ), gives you a quest, choose the second option "I say that today....". Inside the house, close to Jurgen, there is a trader selling magic. DON'T loot the chest. The next shack is Barnabas ( goto Barnabas ). DON'T talk to him at this time. QUESTS. The 5 recommendation letters for Anog. Anog had asked you to collect recommendation letters, at least 5. It is possible to get all 7 letters: Cornelius, Jurgen, Meryl, Dylan, Boris, Oelk, and Anton. Those will be done shortly. TIP: Be sure you have gotten all the quests before giving the 5 recommendation letters, otherwise 6 and 7 are no longer available (you could miss the Boris one in Geldern), you'll be guided to that one shortly. Cornelius ( goto Cornelius ) wants 5 fire nettles (1 recommendation letter). The nettles are taken from the stomachs of scavengers. Agree to this quest. Go out the second NW gate. Forward and slightly left are the scavengers. Kill them for meat and 5 undigested fire nettles. In other areas, scavengers have eggs. On the spot, there is a flameberry. Back east to the standing stones is a Teleport Stone. SIDE MISSION: If you don't cheat with the god command, wait till you're very strong. Leaving out the first NW gate of Silden, turning right you'll see a short footbridge. Cross the foot bridge, head directly northeast to the second woodpile, then north to a rebel camp. Continue ENE to the left of the tall standing rock to another camp, then NE to a third camp and cross a foot bridge to a large rebel camp where everyone is hostile towards you. Lots if fighting and several chests. Take the nettles to Cornelius across from the Inn. You get a recommendation letter. He will teach you alchemy, including making permanent potions. Eliminate Tahbert's cows (1 recommendation letter). Jurgen, the shepherd, is worried that Tahbert is taking his profit away. He suspects the use of magic to give good appearance to bad meat. He asks you to kill Tahbert's cows. Accept. If you want to kill the cows (actually not all are necessary, just kill them until you get a screen message). You can do it in two basic ways, use the kill cheat on each cow name (even in daylight), or wait till late at night when Tahbert is asleep. When you kill a cow, preferably with a bow while in hiding so no one sees you, hopefully, the cows will run away outside of town. If they are far enough away outside, no one should notice you killing them. Meryl wants an amulet (yields 2 recommendation letters, one is from Dylan). TIP: Use the Silden and Geldern teleport stones, when you have both, to travel between the 2 cities. Meryl, the thief and merchant, was requested by Anog to beat some Orcs, but they are getting stronger and he needs an amulet to defeat them. He asks you to get the amulet from Dylan in Geldern. Go out the NW exit and to the right is a stone circle, get the teleport stone if not already. Back inside Silden, go to the warehouse west of the Inn. Go out the west exit, DON'T pick up any bread you see. They are for a later quest. Cross over the long bridge, forward towards the light green tree, and bear slightly left through a dark tunnel with scavengers and wolves. Now instead of going to Geldern right now, you should go to Montera and pick up a teleport stone, to make a later quest much easier. Continue on and just past some Bison, don't harm them. Stay left and continue the road a long way to Trelis, following the signs. A few critters along the way. At Trelis, go through the entrance to the right of the small bridge. Go over to the left of the big doorway and down into the cellar. Get the teleport stone. Back outside, go over left and out the same SE entrance. Go down across the small arched bridge. Stay left and out the SE gate. Continue the road due east to Montera, following the signs. Fight some Schrats, then you come to an old farm on the left side. Kill all opposition and search the farm. Behind the shrine, there's an unnamed chest you can open. Head due north along the cliff side and water. You eventually come to a cave on your right. You had better wait till later for this cave, or turn god mode on. SAVE before going inside. Sometimes the game crashes at a certain location in the cave. In there are many skeletons and chests. One tunnel is dark so you'll need some form of light. Once you've had enough of the cave, go outside and head left back along the cliff side to the abandoned farm. On the road, continue up due east towards a tower. Stay left and eventually enter Montera. Up the steps, go left past a well box to a tall stone building. In there, only take the teleport stone. There's another skeleton infested cave system, somewhat west of Montera. The easiest way there is to cheat: first become invisible; invisibilitz then goto Out_Skeleton_Bow . Once you maybe survive that one, become visible again; invisibilitz , then teleport back to Silden. Once again across the long bridge past the warehouse. Go towards the light green tree and left through the dark tunnel. Just past the harmless Bison, go right at the Geldern sign. At Geldern you enter the north gate. DON'T talk to anyone. Go forward to the roasting spit and go right. Find and speak to a frightened Dylan ( goto Eberhard ). He asks you to stop Meryl from sending thieves against him. Accept the deal. At the south gate, check out the treasury under the main building to the right of the gate. Now go out Geldern's south gate, a little to the SW is a teleport stone on a rock near a chest. Nearby is Boris. Speak to him and tell him you'll hunt the bison for him. Follow the road south towards Trelis. Cross a bridge, then on the left you'll see the Crazy Bison. Kill them for the screen message, and take their meat. Heading back north, roast the meat at the Orc Camp. Return to Boris for his recommendation letter. Teleport back to Silden and speak to Meryl ( goto Meryl ) and he agrees if you can get the amulet. Teleport back to Geldern and again speak to Dylan ( goto Eberhard ) for the recommendation letter and the amulet. Return to Silden, give the amulet to Meryl for his recommendation letter. He's a trader with lockpicks and teaches thief skills. TIP: As soon as possible, after acquiring the "faster learning skill, spend 20 + 5 LP to raise your thief ability and learn "pick difficult locks" (lock pick II). This allows you to open nearly all chests. For the very small remaining number (mainly the large chests), you can use the spell scrolls that you will collect by looting. Help Oelk to stop seagull noise (1 recommendation letter). In a fisher hut, Oelk ( goto Oswald ) is angry because, overnight, someone puts bread crumbs on his roof. Seagulls come to eat the crumbs and make an awful noise. Agree to help. ( goto Crazy_Birdman ) Follow the bread crumbs, past the warehouse, and across the long SW bridge. Forward to the green tree and right between the rocks. You arrive at a crazy Bird-Man. Talk and beat him or give 500 gold. Loot his 5 chests. From the Bird-Man, go NW through the trees, kill 3 wolves and loot a metal chest, and a normal chest. Just uphill to the west, there's a wooden enclosure around a mine entrance. Outside are 3 chests. In the mine there's a couple of Ripper Beasts, pickaxe, metal chest, an amulet, and 4 gold veins to mine. Report to Oelk ( goto Oswald ) for your letter. Barnabas has not paid Anton. Inside the Inn, Anton complains that Barnabas has not paid for his room and he had a good time with his wife. Agree to his quests. Barnabas is near the campfire at the east end of Silden in the fisher section. He will suggest that you take his side, but DON'T accept his offer. Tell him "Enough talk! I've decided..." Knock him down, when he wakes up, talk again to get the gold. Return to the Inn and report to Anton to get your letter. Go fetch Inog in Geldern. Return to Anog ( goto ep_Anog ) and give him 5 recommendation letters. You receive a new quest to bring his brother Inog from Geldern. Teleport to Geldern, you arrive just outside the gate. Before entering, there's an often overlooked side mission. SAVE right here! West of Geldern, near the wall, is a small camp with 3 huge Ogres and a chest or two. SW of the camp and up an embankment is an area surrounded by wood planks. Some chests outside. Inside the cave are many bandits and a bandit leader. There's several chests, gold, sulphur, and ore veins to mine. Exit the cave and head back west to Geldern' gate and enter. Find Inog in the main castle building ( goto ep_Inog ). Before he will return with you, he gives you 4 quests: collect taxes, destroy an Orc camp, protect a caravan, and discover what happened to his spy, learn about Clovis, don't miss any dialogue options. These quests will be done later. Return to Silden. **From here to the end of this walkthrough, you won't be guided to explore and find items, etc. You can explore to see what lies around. Fighting in the pit. Near the grinding wheel, Meryl will stop you and you get his tax. Nearby, ask Obert ( goto Silden_ArenaGuy ) to let you duel in the pit. Talk to him after each fight, and wait for each opponent to wake up before talking to Obert again. Pick up their weapons and rob them before they wake up. Sometimes Obert goes inside the house just west of the grinding wheel. Bring Anton's wife to Anog. This quest is available once Inog has given his 4 quests in Geldern. Talk to Anog till he says Anton is suspected of helping Orcs. You have to talk to Isabelle ( goto Antons_Wife ), sometimes she's at a campfire in front of the Inn, and bring her to Anog for questioning. Anog always first says "Where is my brother", talk to him again. He tells you to come back later. Go to the Inn, speak to Anton, then collect his tax. Go to Cornelius' shack, in front of the Inn, and get his tax. From the fighting pit, at the east end of the camp talk to Barnabas, knock him out, when he wakes up, talk again to collect his tax. Go back to Anog. He confirms the suspicion and you are required to kill Anton. Go back to the Inn and SAVE. You have to perform a killing blow; after knocking someone out, with their name showing, hold down right mouse button and hold down left button at the same time to deal the fatal blow. Talk to Anton, say "Anton, I've returned to this land.... knock him out and do the killing blow. If you accidentally hit any citizens, they attack, you have to just knock out any attackers. Report to Anog, he asks you to escort Isabelle back. Talk to her and she runs ahead of you. Once she stops, talk to her. Take care of the 2 side quests in Geldern. 1. Family wants player to beat the miner. Talk to the man named Father ( goto GeldernFamily_Father ) in or near his house above the fighting arena. Go past the blacksmith and approach the nearby miner leader to start a fight. Knock him out and his pals. Don't let any of them get away. Careful not to hit any citizens, or you'll have to knock them out too. Talk to the Father again. 2. Arena fights. Fight the novice in the arena. Find Derex at the arena below to request a fight. Enter the arena and knock out first opponent. Take his weapon and rob him before he wakes up. Wait till he leaves the arena. Talk to Derex for the second fight. Enter the arena and knock out, take weapon and rob before he wakes up. Wait till he leaves the arena. Talk to Derex for the final fight. Enter arena and knock out, take weapon and rob him before he wakes up. Go to the NE end of town, find Dylan and get his tax. Talk to Derex to collect. Now continue Inog's 4 quests. 1. Destroy the Orc camp closest to Geldern. Leave Geldern through the south gate and get taxes from Boris. On down the road till you find the Orc camp on your right. They might be fighting off some animals so start using you bow on the Orcs while they are occupied. If necessary, lead them back north to Boris for his help. Remember, any Orc you knock out, you have to do the killing blow on them before they wake up. When the last Orc is dead, enter Geldern and report to Inog. 2. Find the missing spy. The spy is in Trelis, so teleport there. NOTE: After freeing him, you'll have to escort him to Geldern. Make sure the Trelis to Geldern road has no enemies. In the eastern part of the large Orc compound, if you go past the fighting arena from the wrong direction, Steiner ( Trelis_ArenaGuy ) the Arena boss won't let you pass. Talk to him for arena fights. Get the 3 fights, knocking out, taking weapons and robbing before each wakes up. Wait for each one to leave the ring before getting another fight, talking to Steiner after each fight. One of your opponents was Lewis ( Trelis_ArenaWarrior ). He's a trainer. Now for Clovis the prisoner: from the arena, go a short way SW to find the guarded house where Clovis is being held prisoner. Move up to the center where the guard challenges you. After a bit of talk, bribe the guard. Go inside and get Clovis to follow you. Straight ahead NE, turn left and left again to cross the arched bridge. Then right and north and go left before another bridge. Head west past the temple and out the NW gate. Head due north on the road to Geldern. Talk with Inog. 3. Get at least 1000 in taxes and pay Anog (Maybe you've already collected all of them). Get taxes from two people in Geldern, Dylan on the west side of town, and Boris just out the south gate. In Silden, Anton at the Inn was first, that leaves Meryl in the fishing area at the sharpening stones near the fighting pit, Barnabas is further at the east end near a campfire knock him out again and collect when he wakes up, and Cornelius in his laboratory just south of the Inn. Go talk to Anog to hand over all the taxes. Teleport to Geldern and speak with Inog. 4. Report to the merchants and escort them. After making sure the road between Geldern and Silden is free of opponents, talk to Hamlar in the house that's west of Geldern's southern gate. Start following Hamlar as he runs to Silden. When you near the point where the road turns north, you'll get ambushed by Orcs. Let them start fighting the traders, then hit them with ranged attacks. After you follow Hamlar through the cave near Silden, he stops. Talk to him and he'll continue on his own. Now report back to Inog in Geldern. Finally, you'll need to do 2 missions dealing with a Black Mage. 1. Get information about the Black Mage. Talk to Clovis, in a side room, just outside Inog's room. Go to Trelis and look around the castle for the 3 named Orcs. Garan ( Trelis_Orc_Boss_01 ) stands guard next to the large house that's along the south side of the castle. Approach him to get some information on the Black Mage. Sylvester and Nicholas are guarding the gates and small bridges. Rudolph is probably in or near Ogit's house. Talk to all of them as many times as you can. Then return to Geldern and report what you learned to Inog. 2. Deal with the Black Mage. Return to Trelis. Now SAVE. Here you have 2 choices. A. Find that the Black Mage is in the house that Garan is guarding. Talk to the Mage to turn him hostile, then quickly unleash a constant flurry of blows on him so he can't hit you with his magic attacks or heal himself. When he goes down, quickly do the killing blow. You'll then probably have to knock out Garan, plus maybe an elite mercenary. B. If you want an easier fight, use the bed in Thorus' house to sleep until midnight, then go to the doorway and watch the Black Mage until he walks away. Follow him to the cave he sleeps in. After he goes to bed, run to him and attack good and fast, or hang back and Fireball him. After he's dead, by either method, return to Geldern and talk to Inog. He'll start following you. Go out Geldern's northern gate, then talk to the Mystic Wanderer to get the "Mystic Wanderer's wanted armor pieces" quest. You'll do that later. Continue on until you meet a pack of wolves near where the road turns north. Help Inog kill them. Now finish escorting him to Silden. After you arrive, talk to Anog two or three times. Mystic Wanderer's wanted armor pieces. You should finish this mission to get XP and a unique armor suit, before trying to find Gorn. There are three pieces that the Mystic Wanderer wants. NOTE: There's a different-looking item that's also called "wanderer piece" in a chest in Vengard, but it has nothing to do with this mission. Also in Vengard, there's a teleport stone, lying beside the shrine in the temple. Wanderer Piece Locations: In enhanced edition 2.01 they are labeled "Rare metal". Make sure you get them in the order listed, 1, 3, then 2. 1 *In Silden at the warehouse, west from the Inn, cross the long bridge, follow the road to the green tree, slightly left go through the dark tunnel. Continue on the road, just past the harmless Bison, find the Geldern road sign on the right, turn right and continue west to an Ironstim on the right. Enter the mine. In the first room are 3 huge Minecrawlers to kill. On the table is the "Rare metal" package ( goto Mystic_Wanderer_piece_01 ). In the second chamber is an ancient stone tablet on a big rock. Find it in inventory, click it for ancient knowledge. 3 *Okara: there's a teleport stone to left of entrance. Enter mine, go down tunnel a very short way, hang sharp left and uphill to the chamber where the Water Mage is. Get the package on small table ( goto Mystic_Wanderer_piece_03 ). Read books and 3 stone tablets. In the mine are veins to pick. On down in the mine more books and chests. 2 *Trelis: From the upper compound, go out the SE exit, down across the arched bridge, go out the SE gate. Uphill to the abandoned temple. To left of old temple, go uphill to NE, DON'T talk to the Mystic Wanderer if he's there. Enter cave to minecrawler room ( goto Mystic_Wanderer_piece_02 ) on a table. Also pick up Kalom's Chalice for another quest. Make sure that package number 2 is the final one you find. Now that you have all three "Rare metal" packages, check inventory to make sure. The Mystic wanderer should be hanging around outside the cave. If not, check the other 2 cave entrances. Tell him "I have them", and you get big XP and a unique armor set called "End Game Armor", that includes a helmet ( give GFG_End_Game_Armor_01 ). Equip the new armor. There's 3 chests nearby. Uphill to SE is a cave with 2 chests. If things go badly, before you complete the transaction, you'll have to cheat to find him; goto Mystic_wonderer To the west from Trelis is Nemora. Fight a couple of Orcs at the entrance. To the right of the entrance, go uphill towards the bones. Directly down from the bones is a chest containing a teleport stone. Turn right, head west, watch out for the 2 Ripper Beasts. Go left downhill to a couple of orcs. On down to the platform, another Orc. On a crate on the lumber pile is another teleport stone. Finding Gorn Missions. Having escorted Inog, talk to Anog to get a quest about stopping raids on the caravans. Go to Trelis' upper castle courtyard and find Thorus in or near his house in the NW corner. Talk to him for big XP and Silden reputation points. He will give a quest concerning Osch. And another about regiments for Kan. Osch's Missions. Osch is near the NE corner of the castle courtyard. Talk to him. Supply the camp with potions and weapons. Kosar is in the large Orc camp that's between Montera and Gotha. You could go straight to Kosar deliver the goods for XP, but that's not the best way. Teleport to Montera. From the west gate, go down the road that leads NE. You'll see an Orc named Viet. Talk to him to get the mission "Thorus wants to inspect the weapons and potions". Go to Thorus in Trelis. He immediately gives a new quest, if not already. "Kan needs more Orcs", you'll do that later. Let Thorus inspect the weapons. Teleport back to Montera and head NE down the road past Viet. Deliver the goods to Kosar ( goto Kosar ) standing near the road. Continue on down the road, past paladins, to the spiral tower just outside Gotha. In the tower ground floor is a chest with a teleport stone. Go on uphill to Gotha and enter the abandoned blacksmith shop on the right and get another teleport stone, there's 2 chests. Now teleport back to Montera. Side missions in Montera. Selling of potion. From Montera's west gate, go to the farm just NW across the road. Vikram is in the western-most shack in the farm area ( goto Montera_MadAlchemist ). Talk to him, he wants to sell a potion to either Gorn in Gotha or Thorus in Trelis, tell him "Very well. I shall be off". Go straight to Thorus who gives a mission about Kan's regiment, if not already. You'll do that later. Finish talking on everything. Telling Thorus about the alchemist' potion, he swears to have Vikram killed. Return to Vikram and get training. Beat the Orc Shaman. Up first steps into Montera, then on the SE end, go down through the small arched doorway in the wall. Continue down south to the main road. Go left, SE past the glowing cave, and continue the road, killing all enemies, until you approach a camp of Renegade Orcs. Pick all the Mana plants before getting there. Talk to the Orc ( goto ShamanOrc1 ) who'll give you a mission. In the cave are 2 Shadowbeasts and 2 large Lizards. Return to Montera, approach the white clothed shaman Thomosch ( Orc_Shaman_Boss ), in the area near the west gate and talk, tell him "Hmm. Very well...". Accept his deal to get the "Player accepted shaman offer to bring back his Orcs" mission. Go back to the mission-giving Orc ( goto ShamanOrc1 ), killing all enemies along the way, and talk to him to get all 4 of them to follow you back due north towards Montera, up the short south path and through the small arched doorway. Walk to the white dressed shaman and wait for the Orcs to stop following you. Talk to the Shaman to get the Shaman's Artifact necklace. Now back to the main mission. Report back to Osch in the upper courtyard of Trelis. Recover the ancient artifact from the minecrawler caves. You may have already picked up the Cor Kalom device in one of the wanderer piece caves. Tell him "It is done" to give it to Osch. KAN'S MISSIONS. Take the regiment to Kan. Thorus gave you this mission after you finished "Ask Thorus to stop raids on Geldern". Look in the big double guarded house near Osch to find Ogit and Erhag. Talk to each one to get them to follow you. Get up on the castle's west wall, find Urbanus and get him to follow. Sometimes Urbanus is somewhere else in the courtyard. With all three of them following, go out the courtyard' SE gate, down the small curved bridge, and out the SE gate. Continue the road through many Schrats. Continue uphill to the east. Continue the road to left of an old tower and on to Montera. Go up to the castle courtyard and enter the main building. Talk to Kan to deliver the followers. Take prisoner to Gabriel. Talk to Kan again to get the Gabriel mission. Wait for Galin (version 2.01) to walk in, then talk to him to get him to follow you. He wants you to first take him to his wife, tell him "Alright, we'll find...". The wife is in Gotha. Exit Montera at the west gate, then turn NE and go along the road until you reach Gotha' huge rebel camp. First visit the prisoner' wife, go to the winding tower. Turn north and pick up all the sacks of wheat by the tower. Continue up to the first house on the left and talk to the prisoner Galin. Then talk to the wife. Talk to Galin. Give wheat to the wife. Talk to Galin. Give gold to the wife. Galin tells about a special sword. Talk to Galin and take him away. Go down to Gabriel in the small camp opposite the tower. Talk to him to deliver Galin. Gabriel declines the truce offer and sends back gold in return for the prisoner. You now have Galin' key to his chest in a Troll cave SW along the road from Montera' west gate. You'll do that later. Now do Side Missions in Gotha. In the big sunken pit area talk to Ulva ( ep_MourningLady ), tell her "It would be an honor..." to accept a mission to find her husbands treasure. Go down to the winding tower, turn right to the rebel camp. Find Lennard on the west end of the camp ( goto Lennard ) and talk to him about Ulva' dead husband. The treasure is close to a bridge near Faring. Go to the east end of the rebel camp, then continue along the road towards Faring. When you come near a waterfall and some wild boars, look near them for the Mourning Lady' Chest. Empty it. Straight ahead speak with the Thief ( goto Faring_Thief_01 ), at the small camp next to the road. Talk to him, choose the last option "Very well, I shall accept this task".*** In order to gain information he wants, you need to talk to special named merchants in various towns. After you do, return to the Thief and tell him about the merchants. Now for a teleport stone in Vengard. Continue on the road to Vengard. Cross the long wood bridge and enter Vengard. Go straight to a campfire, then left and continue uphill to the Temple. Inside by the big shrine is a teleport stone. Return to Ulva in Gotha at the deep pit area ( goto ep_MourningLady ) and hand over the treasure. Hunter tells player to kill the beast. At a small enclosed camp, a short way west from Gotha. To get there, go west through the rebel camp and out the main gate. Turn right and follow the cliff side a good way. Right after you agree to help Rollan ( ep_Gotha_Mage_02 ), some game versions have three big lizards showing up. Hang back if you need to while fighting them, but don't let them kill Rollan. In game version 2.01 just enter the cave and keep to the left and kill 3 beasts. Now Rollan will train you. He gives you 1 of 3 keys. Pick up all 5 wheat sacks in the camp. Look for people who will give you the other two. They're both mages. One is in Gotha, in the castle courtyard, approach Tavin ( ep_Gotha_Mage_01 ) and get his key. Morgan ( ep_Faring_Mage_01 ) is in Faring' castle courtyard. Get the final key. To find Rollan' chest, go down to the large stone bridge outside Faring, then do a sharp right turn and go back west along the sloping terrain, past some Rhinos, you'll find Rollan' chest; Mage_Chest and open it with your three keys or if you can pick difficult locks, or use an open locks scroll or spell. Kill the Ugly people in Cape Dun. Vaingard ( goto Vaingard ) in Gotha gives this mission. He's around the entrance to the big sunken pit. Teleport to Montera, enter town and up first steps, go right to the SE end and go out the small south archway exit through the wall. Forward to main road and head left, SE, following the signs to eventually arrive at an intersection of signs. Follow the Cape Dun sign downhill and find Theo ( goto Trelis_FattuOrc ) waiting at a sign. Agree to his request and he will follow you. Lead him due SW down the road and into Cape Dun. Part way through town, at the roasting spit, tell Theo to wait. Head on up through town to a guard outside the warehouse. In there on the left is a teleport stone on a shelf. DON'T bother anything else. Go back through town to the roasting spit and get Theo to follow you again. To the right of the roasting spit, find the path that leads down to the beech. Lead him on down to the Swampweed Shack. Go to it and talk to Theo. He gives you a key. His special chest is in a Montera castle tower. You'll do that later. Continue to the west end of the beach and fight some lurkers at a cave entrance. In the cave, go around left past a couple of campfires to reach some wooden ramps that lead down to the ugly men' camp area. Look all around the area for chests you can safely rob. DON'T harm the pigs. Speak with the Renegade Leader ( goto Ugly_leader ) to get a quest to kill Vaingard. Agree to kill Vaingard for twice the reward. Without attacking anyone in the cave, return to Gotha and talk to Vaingard to get him to attack you. After knocking him down, quickly do the killing blow. Return to the ugly men' cave, beneath Cape Dun, and talk to the Renegade leader ( goto Ugly_leader ) to collect your reward. Now back to the main quest. The chest that Galin spoke of is in a cave with a black troll. If you can't handle such a beast, wait till later before going after the sword. To find the cave ( goto BlackTroll ), or head SW along the road that leads away from Montera' west gate until you get near some tall stone ruins. Go just past the ruins on your right, then NW to a wooden watchtower, then head north to a cave. Kill the troll, then use Galin' key ( It_Key_kan_prisoner ) on the chest to get the powerful Heartstopper sword ( give GFG_Weapons_1H_Swords_05 ) dmg 125, required strength 200 and skill required SwordFighter II. The nameless sword (game versions before 2.0 and 2.01) requires the Master of Two Blades skill to equip, but you can get around that detail. Although a Master sword is not available in game versions 2.0 and 2.01 gameplay, you'll have to cheat to get it ( give It_1H_MasterSword_01 ) and equip it, then equip the Nameless Sword (note that it should replace the Master Sword instead of equipping along with it). Game versions earlier than 2.0-2.01, a Master Sword might be found in Vengard. The two chests on top of the guard tower that's somewhat south of the castle contain a Master Sword and 2 Inquisitor swords. There's another Master Sword plus three more magic blades in the chest in the small room under the stairs that lead to the tower. If the Master Sword was not found, you'll have to cheat to get it ( give It_1H_MasterSword_01 ). Return to Kan in Montera and tell him the bad news about the truce offer. Kan wants you to find 3 sets of armor and swords. Then he gives another quest to speak with Ogit about an artifact. Teleport to Cape Dun. At the SW end of town, find Soma ( goto Fritz ) the smith, up small steps near the warehouse. Talk to him for a quest to find 0 Magic Ore. There's at least 10 of them in the warehouse. If you get caught steeling, knock out an attacker and finish picking up all ore pieces. You probably have to knock out more than one person. Give the ore pieces to Soma for the armor and sword sets. Now return to Montera. After entering the castle courtyard, turn left and go up the steps onto the castle wall. Left again and up the first flight of stairs you come to. Look left to the floor before the next set of stairs to see 2 chests. The one in the back is Theo' that has some powerful weapons. Now back down to the courtyard and return to Kan. Since you've finished the Regiment for Kan, talk to him to get a mission about Ogit, if not already. Ogit is down near the well box and is dressed in white. Talk to him. Talk again if necessary to get a mission to speak to Urbanus about an artifact. Urbanus is on guard duty to the left of the west gate. Talk to him more than once if needed to get a quest to get permission for Urbanus to leave his post. Return to the castle and talk to Kan. You have to find a replacement for Urbanus. You are also instructed to take everything to Thorus. Talk to Arthur for replacement. General Omert, in the courtyard, has information. In Cape Dun on the SW end of town, in the big warehouse, speak with Arthur ( Moritz ). He tells about Morg being a perfect replacement. Talk again. Go up the steep path to the fighting arena and speak to Morg and have him follow you. Check often to make sure he's still following you. Leave town at the NE exit and make your way along the roads to Montera. At the top of the steep north path, at the road signs, go left past the Bison. Continue the road due west. You soon run into several Schrats. When you reach Montera, notify Kan that you have a replacement for Urbanus. Lead Morg down to Urbanus, and tell Morg to take over guard duty. Now talk to Urbanus and he will lead you to the bandit camp, far down the SE road, then south of the road where it turns sharply east. There's 3 bandits to fight. Help urbanus kill them, then search them to find Ogit' amulet. Make sure it's in your inventory. If you didn't find the amulet, use the cheat give ep_Ogit_artifact. Back in Montera, talk to Ogit. Go speak with Kan to give him the amulet. He should already have given you orders to take armor and Gabriel' message to Thorus. Check your missions log to be sure. Go to Trelis and talk with Thorus and hand over the items. After that, say "It is done". Make sure all topics are discussed. Now SAVE. Finally talk to Osch and he asks you 2 important questions. 1. You really should choose the first response, about how the Orcs have been behaving and the humans are at fault. This blames the rebels for the war. You get a lot more missions and you'll always end up supporting Gorn and the rebels in the end anyway. Blaming the Orcs will not be covered in this walkthrough because it's less than a page. At this point, you've received a letter to deliver to Gorn, but he won't appear in the game till much later. Now it's time for the Trelis Side Missions: From Osch, go out the nearby gate and go around left, then go directly north to the distant house on the hill. You might have to wait for Geoff ( Trelis_Father ) to arrive up the hill from Trelis. Talk to mother ( Trelis_Mother ) in the house. Talk to Hunfrid ( Trelis_YoungerSon ). Now SAVE! Talk to Geoff about buying one of his sons, then choose either son: 1. Choosing the Elder son Ebert ( Trelis_ElderSon ) takes you to the old city area behind Trelis. Follow Ebert along as he runs down the hill and into a nearby cave to some bandits. Kill everyone who attacks, then loot the cave. 2. Choosing the younger son Hunfrid ( Trelis_YoungerSon ), he leads you to the forest where Orcs hide the chests. Talk to Hunfrid and tell him to go back home. Check out the chests. Now back to the main mission "The Orcs are well behaved/Blaming the Rebels": take Thorus' Peace note to Gorn. TIP: Before you go any further, there's a certain chest you'll want to unlock, or alternately, make sure you have at least 5000 gold to spare. Go to Gotha. If you've explored the two side tunnels in the big sunken pit area in Gotha village, you'll have found a guarded jail cell in the tunnel immediately behind Ulva. Near that cell is a locked chest labeled "Prisoner' Chest". Depending on the choice you're going to be making soon, you might greatly benefit from unlocking that chest now. To do so, you'll need the Pick Difficult Locks ability, or use Errol's Key (or use an Open Locks scroll on it). One final alternative, cheat ( give It_Key_Hero_chest ). Game versions before 2.01, Errol' key is in Vengard. In the large two-story building that's directly east of the town' west gate, go up to the second floor and loot the chest to get the key. After you unlock the chest, you can get a few items from it. Better yet, if you refuse to buy a freedom pass for 5000 gold later on, you'll be able to get all of your confiscated inventory items back from the chest right away instead of having to wait. Go to Gotha' castle courtyard and talk to Errol. After he walks off to deliver the message, IMMEDIATELY SAVE and note the numbered save slot. Now wait until Errol returns and talks to you again, tell him "I understand..." to buy the pass. Report to Raik ( goto Gunther ) at the camp. He's near the west end of the rebel camp just outside of town. Talk to him. Now inform some others: Bran ( Lorenz ), Ian ( Lothar ), Lazarus, Linhart, and Lennard in the rebel camp. They're all in the west part of the camp, so they should be easy to find. Talking to each one gets 1250 XP. Finally report back to Raik for 15000 XP and 500 gold. Kill Lazarus. Instead of waiting for Lazarus to meet with the Orcs, you can talk to him at any time to get him to turn hostile. Knock him out, deliver the killing blow, then report to Raik ( goto Gunther ). Dragon Bones Missions. Get the ancient artifact before Thorus does. The chest of dragon bones is the one labeled "Hashishin" that's at the end of one of the snapper infested tunnels on the sloping path leading up to Faring. FARING. Khalil upstairs over the Inn in Faring village, Kazus in Faring castle courtyard, Gerrel ( Faring_Merchant_01 ), and Khadim (guarded house in Faring), Hamlar ( Hamlar or ep_Hamlar ) and Dylan ( Eberhard ) in Geldern, Hubertus in the Vengard castle courtyard, Meryl in Silden. Even if you haven't met any qualified merchants, you'll be able to tell him about Hamlar in Geldern. After you talk to Dylan ( Eberhard ), who's somewhere on the west side of Geldern, you can get paid for info on him too. Another is Hubertus ( Hubertus ) in Vengard's castle courtyard. TIP: You might not be able to tell about him till after you return from Faring to Vengard after escorting his wife to do shopping. From the Thief, cross the big stone bridge, turn left and go uphill towards town. Past a campfire, enter the cave on the right. Take the right branch to 4 scavengers and a teleport stone. The Hashishin' chest requires a special key. Exit the cave and continue up to town. Faring. Around the first house on the right, talk with Tila, tell her "Very well...." to accept her mission to kill her husband Gerrell. He can be found near the west end of the castle courtyard. When you talk to him, tell him "Very well.... " agreeing to kill Tila and her friend. Leave the castle and head down to the village. You should see the culprit on the path. Talk to turn him hostile. Knock him out and perform the killing blow. Go on down and do the same to Tila, then go back up and report to Gerrell. In the castle courtyard, talk to the blacksmith Kendl ( Dirk ). He gives 5 separate "key" missions: Bring Khadim' key to Kendl. ( It_Key_Dirk ) Bring Khalif' key to Kendl. ( It_Key_Khalif ) Bring Khalil' key to Kendl. ( It_Key_Khalil ) Bring Kazus' key to Kendl. ( It_Key_Kazus ) Bring Khaif' key to Kendl. ( It_Key_Khaif ) NOTE: You can wait till you find all 5 keys before giving them to Kendl. Khadim' key: Khadim is the guy in the guarded house on the west side of the castle courtyard. Talk to the 2 guards on everything. Nearby, talk with 2 woman Girl and Floy. Go back and tell the 2 guards about the women. Go talk to the 2 woman again. Tell about a client. Lead them to the 2 guards. If the 2 guards keep interrupting you, lead them away somewhere and kill them. Now go get the key from Khadim. Khalif' key: Look for the key near his shop down in the village. Behind his shop, slowly go down the path to the creature infested area. Past a short fence section is a wheelbarrow with the key on it. You might be able to get it without any attackers. Khalil' key: While still in the village, go up the stairs to the top floor of the large Inn. Talk to Jenell ( Harem_Suspect03 ) and give her some meat in exchange for the key. Kazus' key: Down in the village, you'll find an unlocked "Kazus' Chest" next to the shop at the SE end. Khaif' key: Go down the path from Faring and straight on past the bridge. Kill the Trolls, one of them has the key. Go give the 5 keys to Kendl and he makes a key for the Hashishin' chest. Leave town and part way down the path and enter the cave. Take the right hand tunnel, get all 5 bones from the chest. TIP: If a Troglodyte attacks, kill it and check it for an Undigested Fire Nettle. 5 are needed for a later quest. ( give It_Plant_UndigestedFireNettle_Troglodyte ). Pick up 2 pickaxes and a shovel. If you talked to all the merchants in Faring, stop by the thief on the other side of the long stone bridge. You should have the option about all five merchants in town. Then talk again to complete the mission. Return to Gotha and give the dragon bones to Raik ( goto Gunther ). He'll offer you training. The remainder of this path is the same as in the second part of the REFUSAL path. So Restore to where you did the IMMEDIATELY SAVE. When Errol returns, tell him "I don't approve....." Refusing to buy a freedom pass. After landing in jail, do the REFUSAL below. REFUSAL: Report to Ignatius the Alchemist. After landing in jail, talk to Errol as he returns 2 different times. Leave the jail cell and reclaim all your confiscated items from the nearby chest if you unlocked it earlier. If you didn't, you'll have to do several missions to get the chest key from Garik, just outside of Gotha. Equip weapons and spells as before. Go to the castle courtyard, find Ignatius ( goto Ignatius ) and talk to him. He wants 12 healing plants ( It_Plant_Health ). There are a lot of them growing around Gotha, if you didn't already pick them. TIP: if you didn't pre-open the prison chest, now is a good time to go find some loot and sell it so you can buy some lockpicks ( give It_Key_Lockpick 50 ) gives you 50 lockpicks. Once you have 12 or more healing plants, give them to Ignatius. Now he wants mana plants ( give It_Plant_Mana ). Ignatius wants 12 mana plants. There's some near the east end of the Rebel comp, and several more in the large field east of that. Some are near Garik and his men, be sure you talk to Garik ( goto Garik ). Tell him "I don't have any weapons". Some mana plants are farther east near a few goblins. Once you have 12 or more, give them to Ignatius. Now you need the price of your freedom. Return to Garik and talk to him again. You have enough except for 1 more Coin. Find Gero in the west end of the rebel camp ( goto Gero ). Talk to him and get the coin you need. No other coin will work in this quest. Now you should have 11 coins. Return to the castle courtyard. In the room, next to the courtyard exit, give the coins to Ignatius. Return to Garik and talk. You have to deliver an amulet to Gothard ( goto Gothard ) near the west end of the rebel camp near a roasting spit. Then return to Garik. NOTE: If you couldn't open the prison chest, you may want to spend the gold on equipment right away. Follow the road from Gotha to Faring, and look for Garik' chest ( goto Garik_Chest ) by an old wagon just before entering Faring. Empty the chest, then look on the ground next to it to find Garik' shield, if it wasn't in the chest. This is the ONLY one that will work in this quest. Return to Garik and report. His bow is in the chest, near the east end of the rebel camp and across the road from the tower at Gabriel' camp where you delivered the prisoner. Take the bow back to Garik. Now you must train his recruits. If you have nothing better, equip the rusty sword Garik gave you. Enter the nearby arena and only knock out the Trainee, and pick up his weapon. Report to Garik. Train all remaining recruits, reporting to Garik after each. After training the last recruit, Garik gives you a key to the prison chest. Go get your items from the chest and try to arrange everything the way it was before you were arrested. Now go to the castle courtyard and talk to Errol and get him to let you in. Inside, go to the right, enter Gorn' building and talk to him a couple of times to give him Garik' message. Then return to Garik to get some XP. Return to Gorn again. Kan has gone to Okara to kill the water mage, so that's where you need to go. NOTE: Until you kill Kan, all Orcs in the game will be hostile to you. You could use that knowledge to lure Orcs out of towns like Montera and Trelis 1 or 2 at a time for combat XP and items. In the tunnel leading to the water mage's cave, you'll encounter 2 Orc Masters. Kill them quickly as possible, then go help the water mage kill Kan and take his inventory. The quest is finished. Get training from the water mage. Read the 4 large stone tablets. Now return to Gorn and talk on all. Now Quick SAVE F5. Some game versions allow you to
take everything in Gorn' room, including robbing the 2 chests. If he attacks, restore F9. You have to find Lee. Go to Vengard and talk to Theodor, guarding the castle entrance. Now find Marc and find out about an artifact. Marc is in Ardea, so go there. ARDEA. First do side missions around and in Ardea. Kill the Orcs. You have to talk with Martel. Teleport to Montera. Go out the south exit, the small archway in the wall. Forward to the main road and turn left. Follow the Ardea road sign. Cross a long footbridge and continue the road due NE to the camp on the right ( goto. KapDun_Hunter_01 ). Before talking, kill all the scavengers just west. Tell Martel "It shall be done" to help, 3 Orcs attack. Help kill them, then talk to Martel. He's a trainer. Search the dead Orcs. Just due north is a cave, bloodflies, friendly warriors, chests. Continue the road east to a road sign for Ardea, then SE past some Bison to more road signs. Go left and follow the Ardea sign. Continue the road past an old camp and follow the sign to Ardea and enter. Fight Corrado. Go through town and out the east gate. Go a short distance to find Corrado, but DON'T talk. First take off all your protective equipment and unselect your weapons. Now talk to Corrado and agree to his request. When he attacks, don't fight back. When you wake up and he gives you an ordinary sword. Put all your gear and weapons back on and heal up. Now knock Corrado out and take his inventory including what he stole from you. Save Orcs from the Paladins. Go back through town and out the NW gate. Go left and downhill to the small Orc camp. Talk to Olis, tell him "I shall take up your task". Help kill the paladins that appear. Search them. Talk to Olis again and agree. Repeat the same process with 3 more waves of paladins, talking to Olis after each. Olis is a trainer. There's a chest in each shack. At the far SE cliff is a chest. Defeat Pranksters. Back in town, go out the east gate. Follow the road to the lighthouse, three chests inside. Up first steps and find a teleport stone by the bench. At the top of the tower, talk to Gustav, tell him "I understand". Back down and head NE to find a large sloping rock, then NE from it to find Ekhard and his pranksters. Approach and start fighting. Knock all out and do killing blow on each. Look around the camp for any chests or items. Report back to Gustav and get a Truth Spell scroll added to the Magic section of inventory. It's needed for a husband cheating mission. Put the scroll in one of the number quick slots. Go down the tower and speak to Solviq and agree. Go back to town and look for Rosswald but Quick SAVE before talking to him. Walk to him and talk. After the conversation is over, quickly use the Truth scroll on his Name' to get a confession. DON'T attack, just run back to the lighthouse, report to Solviq. You get an amulet that you can wear. Now back to the main quest. Go back to town, just inside the gate, to the right enter Marc' house. Talk and he mentions an artifact. Report back to the gate guard Theodor in Vengard. Talk and he wants all artifacts from Ardea. Teleport to Ardea and first talk to Marc. Find Severin and bring him to Ardea. Go out the NW exit, turn right and find Severin by a tree or nearby, perhaps just inside town ( goto Severin ). Talk to get his artifact ring and get him to follow you around. Report back to Marc near the east gate. Conz' house is by the NW gate. In there is a teleport stone on the table. Talk to Conz, he wants you to stop a dueling Asdis. He's in the south part of town. Talk to him so that he attacks, knock him out and do the killing blow. Report back to Conz near the NW gate. Sindri ( goto Werner ), a big guy dressed in an apron, wants you to buy his artifact for 1000, or knock him out and take it. Hildur the blacksmith wants the artifact from a cave. It's in Reddock. Go out the NW gate, continue past the middle rock and just left of the sloped ground, to a campfire. South downhill and around west to the entrance steps to Reddock. Fight wolves in the first area. On the left at a wood shed, get a teleport stone, if not already, near a chest. Continue on to the main cave area. The Hungry Troglodytes each have an Undigested Fire Nettle. There are 5 of them for a quest later on. These particular 5 are probably only available in game version 2.0 and 2.01. Make sure you search all 5 Troglodytes. ( give It_Plant_UndigestedFireNettle_Troglodyte ). At the cave floor is a Fire Golem and a regular Golem, and finish off the snappers, then check the table in the blacksmith area to find Hildur' necklace. There's a chest and a basket. The east tunnel leads to a lot of valuable items and a chest containing another Reddock teleport stone. Notice the blocked tunnel. It was open in the original Gothic III, but the other side is still be open. Go back outside. At the top of the steps, head NW to an old wagon with tools and valuables scattered around. Nearby is a cave that is the other side of the blocked tunnel in Reddock. SAVE before entering the cave. First you see a chest and an Undead High Priest. On down in left hand tunnel is a big dragon and many skeletons. There's a chest and a basket. The east tunnel leads to valuable items and a chest containing another Reddock teleport stone. Surviving this side venture, report back to Hildur ( goto Ulrich ) the blacksmith in Ardea. Upstairs in a house near the east gate, Segfried wants a tame wolf, and gives you a Tame Animal Scroll, put it in a quick slot. At the NW gate SAVE, then go out and turn right. Go to the wolves and cast the scroll on a wolf name. Quickly go back in the gate with the wolf following. Go to the east gate and upstairs to Segfried. He gives you his artifact. Teleport to Vengard, talk to Theodor, he wants to know if Ebolt is guarding the captured scouts. Now for a side mission. Teleport to Cape Dun and go up to the very top level. Talk to Tabor ( goto KapDun to get your first fight in the arena. Knock him out, wait for him to wake up, then talk to Tabor. Do the same actions for all fights. The last fighter is a trader. Now back to the main quest. Go down the path and exit out the NE gate. Continue on to a cabin on the left. Talk to Ebolt. Teleport to Vengard and speak with Theodor at the castle entrance. Now return to Ebolt near Cap Dun ( goto Ebolt ). Talk till he agrees to let the warriors go. Talk to the warriors till you find the one who'll let you ask him to follow you, and all 3 of them will follow. Make your way back to Vengard on foot. Go up the steep path and stay left, past some Bison, to an intersection with several signs. Soon you'll go past a Goblin cave on your left, so watch out for them. Go right, past the Vengard sign and past some glowing crystals. At the Ardea road sign, go right and down a steep winding path, past a big Ogre, and on down NE to Vengard. At the castle, go up the stairs leading to Theodor' post and talk to him. Now you need 15 raw meat. You've probably been roasting all the raw meat. You might have to go out and kill a few animals. TIP: If you haven't thoroughly looted Vengard, you can find lots of raw meat in the big 2-story INN near the NE end of town. Once you have 15 raw meat, give them to Theodor. Now he wants 20 wheat sacks. You should already have 5 wheat sacks from Rollan' camp west of Gotha, and 5 left over from the Gotha quest. To easily find the rest in Vengard, use the cheat; goto It_WheatSack . Repeat the goto WheatSack cheat until you find all three bunches or do it the hard way and look around Vengard for light-brown sacks called "wheat sacks". There's at least 5 of them next to the large building just east from the west gate. There's 8 more near the wide steps below the blacksmith. There's 7 just east from the paladins and behind the wood barricade. You should now have as many as 30 if you didn't pick them up and sell them earlier while exploring towns. If you don't have enough, use the cheat: give It_WheatSack xx , the xx is whatever amount you need. Give 20 wheat sacks to Theodor. Now that you're allowed into the castle courtyard, before talking to Lee, it's time for the side missions. Talk to Hubertus in the castle courtyard, he wants you to take his wife shopping in Faring. Nearby, talk to the wife and get her to follow you. Leave through the west gate, then cross the nearby bridge and turn right. Have the wife wait near the bridge while you go west along the road looking for enemies. There might be a couple of Ogres . After you kill them, go back and get the wife to follow you. You'll arrive at a huge stone bridge leading to Faring. Before going across, Quick Save F5, then talk to the Thief ( goto Faring_Thief_01 ) on the left at a small campfire. Choose the last option "Very well, I shall accept this task". You'll need to find and talk to special named merchants in various towns. After you do, return to the Thief and tell him about the Merchants. From the Thief, cross the big stone bridge, turn left and uphill towards Town. Just past the campfire, at the cave entrance on the right, tell the wife to wait. Enter the cave and take the right hand tunnel. Fight scavengers and pick up the teleport stone. Back a little and hang a right into the other tunnel to have a look around. Back outside, tell the wife to follow you. Go on up to Faring village. After you go up the steps to the castle courtyard, turn left and move around near the steps and talk to the wife. You receive XP and gold. Talk to the wife again. She wants booze. She'll follow you around until you can find her 10 bottles of booze. Check with Gerell and other traders in both the castle courtyard and village if you don't already have enough. Back down the path from the courtyard, there's some bottles in an old wheelbarrow. When you have enough, give them to the wife for XP and gold. Talk to the wife again. She wants to shop for armor. The Nordmarian armor is a cheap package of armor. Tell her to wait, then give her a potion. In game version 2.01, Kendl the smith is the only source for the armor package. Trade with him to buy it.. In game version 2.0 and earlier, there might even be 2 of them on the counter in Khalif' shop down in the village, probably in earlier versions of the game. If you've already taken and sold them, buy one back. If you sold them in another town, use the cheat ( give It_Armor_Faring ), the package is in your miscellaneous section. DON'T talk to the wife yet. Now to speak with some merchants, and be sure to trade with them. Kazus in Faring castle courtyard, Gerrel ( Faring_Merchant_01 ), and Khadim (guarded house in Faring), Khalil at the Inn in Faring village, Hamlar ( goto Hamlar or ep_Hamlar ) and Dylan ( goto eberhard ) in Geldern, Hubertus in the Vengard castle courtyard, you've already talked to him, Meryl in Silden. After talking to all the merchants, return to the Faring castle courtyard. Talk to the wife to hand over the package of armor for XP and gold. Be sure you've talked to all merchants in the courtyard and down in the village. Then talk to the wife again and tell her you'll take her away. Go down and exit the village, back across the bridge, go left and return to the Vengard castle courtyard. Near the campfire at Hubertus, talk to the wife to finish the mission. You might have to tell her to wait, give her a potion, then tell her you'll take her away. Now visit the Thief at the end of the stone bridge that leads to Faring ( goto Faring_Thief_01 ). You might be able to tell him about all 5 merchants in Faring. After conversation ends, talk again to complete the mission and get a huge experience boost. Back in Vengard, before going up the steps to the castle courtyard, on the left talk to Jacob on everything. He wants 5 booze. Talk to all traders till you have 5 bottles, then give them to Jacob. Go south from Vengard' SW gate till you find Ubel ( goto Vangard_Rohbar_2 ). Talk to him and he eventually attacks. Kill him. At the doorway to the left of the Vengard throne room doorway, talk to Egidius ( goto Egidius ). He wants a recipe from Cornelius in Silden ( goto Cornelius ) inside the house in front of the INN. Get it and return to Egidius. Talk to Egidius and he wants 5 undigested fire nettles from Troglodytes. You may already have them. If not, leave Vengard' SW gate, follow the road due south until you come withing sight of a circle of standing stones. North from there is the entrance to a cave that contains Troglodyte and Lurkers. The Troglodytes are non-hostile until you attack, so first destroy the lurkers, than kill the Troglodytes and search them. Troglodytes are very fast and tough. If they have no fire nettles, you're likely playing version 2.0 or later ( give It_Plant_UndigestedFireNettle_Troglodyte 10 ). SW from the stone circle is a cave, several chests, many zombies, and an Undead Mage. Just east from the circle, in a hole, is an Ogre and a chest. Return to Egidius in Vengard to get potions and training. You can eat extra undigested fire nettles for permanent hunting skill increases. Talk to Lee ( goto Lee ). He wants you to talk to Hanz the paladin general. He's in the paladin camp a short way north from the west gate ( goto Vangard_Paladin_General_01 ). Talk on all, then back to Lee and talk. Hanz again. Then Lee once more. In game versions 2.0 and earlier, talk to him to get the rescue 3 paladins from Cape Dun. After that's done, talk to Hanz, then report to Lee. The Paladins are held in the guarded building on the higher ground next to the fight arena. First you have to fight in the arena. If you already did the arena fights, you have to get past the guards. Finally, get the paladins to follow you. Leave Cape Dun and return to Vengard by the previous route. Take them to Hanz' camp for an attribute boost and XP. Since you talked to Lee after talking to Hanz, talk to Hanz again about preparing the troops. You should find Immanuel ( goto Vangard_Fire_Mage_02 ) at the top of the tower above Lee' throne room. Talk to him on everything. Now travel to Gotha. From the spiraling tower, just south of Gotha, head straight east to find Lee and his men. Talk to Lee to get the entire group to follow you, then lead them to Errol in Gotha's castle courtyard. Talk to Errol to deliver your followers. Talk to Gorn in his room in the main castle area. You have to find Osch. In Trelis, go east from the Orc compound to find the entrance to a large old temple. It's guarded by Orcs, you must get past them. Finally, use a torch and explore the temple passages to find two more guards. Past them you'll find Osch ( goto Osch sometimes it's goto Hector ). Talk to him. Now you have to bring Milten back to Osch. Go to the fancy temple building on the west side of Trelis' Orc compound. In game version 2.01 all doorways are guarded. Choose the doorway with only one guard and the fewest Orcs nearby. Use a spell or fight the guard, knock him out, then do the killing movement. Look behind the fancy altar for some stairs leading down to the cave, then move along until you encounter the guards. Get past them as best you can, then talk to Milten to get him to follow you. Go back past the guard you killed, then make your way back to the SE gate. Exit and go uphill to the old temple. Get past the guards as before. Lead Milten into Osch' room, talk to Milten for XP. Now talk to Osch to get him and Milten to follow you. Leave the temple, go right and down to the road. Follow it due north and east to Montera. From there, head NE to Gotha. Lead your followers into Gorn' room and talk to him on all. Go outside and talk to Milten on everything possible. With the whole army following, start following Milten. He'll lead you down to the rebel camp, then around to Rollan' enclosed camp west of town. When Milten stops in Rollan' camp, wait to make sure everyone who's following you catches up. Now Quick SAVE F5 before following Milten inside the nearby cave. After finishing off the last of the warriors that attack at the main cave entrance, move slowly over to the up-sloping right branch. The summoner and several other mages are up there, and they can kill you quickly if you're not careful. Equip your best fire and cold resistance items, then hang back and use ranged attacks (like fireball) on the mages to get your army after them. Stay in the back during the battle, and don't hesitate to sprint down the cave' entry tunnel for cover when your health gets low. Be sure you deliver the killing blow on the Summoner. Loot him for some magic items, the Eye of Innos amulet, and a special map. Find Milten, where you fought the first summoner warriors, and talk to him for a mission to kill the beast. Before doing anything else, spend what learning points you have on powering up your ranged attacks. Check your Documents section and read the Old World Map. It has red lines drawn around Trelis, Nemora, Okara, and Reddock, so those are the places to check. WARNING: Orcs are now hostile, and the ones in Trelis will attack if you go there. Sometimes you'll find the beast in Reddock, down on the cave' main floor. Move slowly down the sloping path that leads to the main floor. Enter the east tunnel and go up, looking for opportunities to sneak-attack the beast before it sees you. Keep hitting it with ranged attacks and retreating until you kill it. Then once you enter the main chamber, many Troglodytes appear. Quickly teleport to Vengard. Go to the castle throne room. Talk to Lee. If Milten is missing, use the cheat: spawn Milten. Talk to Milten, then talk to Gorn. Then sit on the throne. THE END. After the end credits, you appear back in the game. You can continue playing and pick up side quests and explore. You might encounter Thorus, who didn't escape after all. He's coming back from the SW edge of the map, to his house in Trelis. You can cheat with: goto Thorus to see him fighting two giant beasts. You can even kill him with the cheat: kill but it doesn't have any effect. CHEAT CONSOLE. To activate the cheat console: 1) save, then exit.
