Escape Velocity Nova Pirate Mission Guide Version 1.0 by SS4Rocky (ss4rocky@hotmail.com) Table of Contents: 1) Introduction 2) Who are the Pirates? 3) Mission Guide 4) Copyright information 5) Credits 1) Introduction: For those of you who don't know, Escape Velocity Nova is the 3rd incarnation of Ambrosia Software's brilliant Escape Velocity. Escape Velocity is set in the future where Space ships dominant the Galaxy. You start as a lonely Pilot of a weak shuttle. After increasing your skills (and after buying a decent spacecraft) you will have to decide which government to fight for. 2) Who Are the Pirates?? The pirates are the people who, for no reason, fire upon you until they disable you and then rob you. This storyline, although called the Pirate missions doesn't really revolve around pirates. The pirate mission string is the shortest in the game. 3) Mission Guide Mission 1: The first mission begins in the bar on Viking when you met Olaf, your uncle. Olaf asks you to pick up some cargo from the Sol system and return it to Viking. You will then be sent on 3 more missions, the first two are cargo missions, first to Misfire, and then to Spacedock III. The third mission sends you to Codec in the Codehaven system, to pick up 480,000 credits and re-open the Association of Free Traders. Mission 2: You are now sent to the Rebel Space station; Rebel II located in the Koria System. The Rebels will then send you to Merrol in the Aldebaran system and make you do food drop missions. These missions are simple, But you can't get scanned by the Federation. Keep doing the food drop missions available from the Mission BBS on Merrol but every time you return, check in the bar and you may recieve the Equipment drop missions. Follow the same procedure with the equipment drops (including checking the Bar) until the Rebels ask you to rescue one of their agents. Mission 3: After you've done quite a few Rebel missions you then need to head to the bar on Viking, Olaf will send you to pick up Blind Charlie from Dunroamin in the Journey's End. When you bring him back you'll be sent to Lotus in the Serenity system to pickup Svan. When you bring him back you need to pick up Ferret and Dizzy from Boral I in the Arcturus system. When you arrive you are told to head to the Shipyard. When you do, you find out what all the People are for when Olaf gives you an extremely powerful Pirate Carrier named the Unrelenting. Mission 4: Now you get to take the Unrelenting on it's maiden voyage, You need to go to the Aral system and investigate disappearences of Association ships. When you get there you'll see a large number of disabled Association Ships. You need to land on the planet. When you do you'll then decide to see the Rebels on Rebel II. Mission 5: You'll now need to set a trap so fly back to the Aral system and land again. Now A fllet will jump in, followed by a Manticore. You need to disable and board the Manticore. When you do you'll have to fly to Harbour in the Scheall system. It is located to the east of Koria. When you land you'll then talk before needing to head over to Rebel I. Mission 6: This mission took me a long time to get because you need to keep jumping in and out and landing on Rebel I. Eventually, you'll need to go destroy Mcgowan. It's time to kick some butt. You need to go to Scheall. When you arrive, you'll find a huge fleet defending Harbor, you have 2 options: 1. Destroy the fleet 2. Charge for Harbor. Either way can work but since you're in an extremely powerful ship, you might as well try the first way. I sent my escorts out and orded them to defend me as I charged into the middle of the enemy fleet, guns blazing. I didn't find this that hard. When you lans you'll kill McGowan. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!! You have now completed on of the 6 main Escape Velocity Nova Missions. 4) Copyright Information This Guide cannot be reproduce by anyone without my Permission. 5) Credits: Special thanks to: Ambrosia Software for Making this fabulous game and also to the Webboard at Ambrosia for all the help the people their gave me when playing through the game. 4) Copyright Information This Guide cannot be reproduce by anyone without my Permission. 5) Credits: Special thanks to: Ambrosia Software for Making this fabulous game and also to the Webboard at Ambrosia for all the help the people their gave me when playing through the game.
