I chose this game to start with because I am a very big fan of the Command & Conquer series and I think that this is the best Command & Conquer game yet. This is the early stages of this faq and is not very complete and lacks alot of details that I have yet to discover. Over time this quide will get bigger and bigger just bear with me through these rough early stages. I would love to hear your opinion about this guide and any hints or tips you would like to see put into this guide. Send them all to my e-mail which is listed above. ------------------------------------------------------------- 1.2) Copyright Stuff ------------------------------------------------------------- This is simple. Don't steal my work. You may not put this faq or any part of it for that matter on any electronic media such as CD's other than the internet without my permission. You may not sell this faq in anyway shape or form. I am in no way affiliated with Westwood Studios or it's parent company. I do this faq on my own will without pay or endorsment from Westwood Studios. The Command & Conquer series is a copyright of Westwood Studios. They own it and can do whatever they want with it. ------------------------------------------------------------- 1.3) About Game ------------------------------------------------------------- Command & Conquer Renegade is a First Person Shoot and a Strategy Game. It is a FPS because you are in 1st person view mode all the time, even though you can change to third person view mode, and you shooting things. Its a Strategy Game because Renegade is not a game where you can just kill everything and expect to accomplish the mission. You have to think about things like "whats the best way to go" and things like this. Out of 100 I would give Renegade a 85 because some of the AI in parts of the game are downright stupid. They see you yet they will not attack. The other reason I gave it an 85 is because I wanted to see more viechles. ------------------------------------------------------------ 1.4) System Requirments ------------------------------------------------------------ Command & Conquer Renegade does take a workhorse machine to work smoothly. I am going to list the minimum requirments and then the recommended requirments based on my opinion. I will list future updates here in the next few versions that I will release. =========================================================== 2) Single Player Walkthrough =========================================================== This guide it written for the Soldier difficulty. There are some differences in each version but if you read carefully you should be able to get the basic idea of each mission from this guide and be able to complete it. ----------------------------------------------------------- 2.1) Mission 1 - The Scorpion Hunters ----------------------------------------------------------- This is the very first and therefore the easiest mission in the game. After the intro video you are dropped from a chopper and you are equiped with a Silenced Pistol and an Auto Rifle. Get accuainted with your Auto Rifle as you will use it alot in the next few missions. In the area where you were dropped run around a bit and collect all the items you can, then follow the two guys in front of you. There is a sniper posted up on the rock in front of you. Take him out before procceding. When he is dispossed of, move foward and you will see and number of NOD soldiers posted up high in the rocks. Try to find something to hide behind like a rock nearby and pick off the soldiers with your Auto Rifle. Once all the guards are dead, an engi will repair a medium tank for you and a demo man will blow the reckage out of your way. Proceed through the newly opened path and you will see a few NOD soldiers around, just shoot at them using the tanksgun and they will be dead before you know it. There will be a NOD Transport chopper that will try and drop reinforcments. Just take a few shots at it and it will fall from the sky. There is also a NOD Harvester that you can destroy if you want to but it is not nessesary. Continue to follow the dirt path and you shortly will come to the NOD base. All you have to do here is shoot every NOD tank and infantry you see. You will then see and Ion Cannon blast destroy the NOD base. Which is the end of Mission 1. ------------------------------------------------------------ 2.2) Mission 2 - Rescue and Retribution ------------------------------------------------------------ In this mission you have to locate the NOD detention center and rescue the prisoners. This mission is longer than the first but is still a very easy mission to complete. Start off by running along the beach and you will see a crashed and blow to bits GDI chopper. Walk along the beach a bit farther and you will see a ladder going up the wall of the cliff. Climb it. A GDI guard will talk to you. Do what he says and follow him. He will lead you into the detroyed GDI base and you will then see 2 prisoners with 2 NOD goons gaurding them. Take out the 2 NOD gaurds and one of the prisoners will tell you that the commanding officer went the path behind and to the left of them. Go down that path and you will see 2 NOD gaurds shooting at someone in a shack. Kill the 2 NOD gaurds and go inside the shack to find the prisoners commanding officer and complete that objective. Make sure you talk to the commander as he will give you an Ion Cannon Beacon which is a very powerfull weapon and should not be wasted on anything but a building. Keep walking down that path and you will recieve another objective telling you to kill a NOD commander in a tower. Killing NOD commanders is a big help to you because NOD will not longer be able to send re-inforcements to that area. You will shortly come to a big road like path with a NOD light taking moving around on it. Don't worry about the tank, it will not shoot you. Just go around to the front of the tower and climb the ladder inside. Look around and you will see the NOD commander and he is probably shooting at you about now. Kill him before he wastes to much of your health. Get out of the tower and look to your left down the path. You will see what looks like an entry way to something except it's blocked off. Go down there and pickup the armor to replenish what you lost in the fight with the NOD commander. Then go back to the tower and continue going straight down the path. You will recieve a message saying that there are turrets in the next area and that you will be dropped some C4. Continue down the path and there will be a few NOD gaurds in the area. Dispose of them. Once your in the area with the turrets, pick up the C4 that the cargo plane dropped you and place one on each of the two turrets. Get out of range and then blow'em up. you will recieve another message telling you that you are being sent a medium tank. Woohoo, now the fun begins. To get to the tank you can either slide down the hill or take the path to the right. Get in the tank and move in the direction of that barn looking house and kill the guard there using the gun on the tank. Follow the path around and you will see 2 cargo trucks. Destroy both and under one will have 4 packs of C4. Collect all of them and head into the mine. There are a few NOD gaurds in the mine. You can shoot them, or run over them with the tank. When you get to the end of the mine you will recieve a message saying there there is a NOD light tank up ahead. Don't worry, these are very easy to beat. Once your out of the mine look to your left and you will see the NOD tank. Just shoot at it until its scrap metal. There are also some NOD gun emplacements up on the rock mounds. One shot from your tank and those are gone as well. There should be three of them. On 2 of the rock mounds theres armor and health. Pick them up if you need them. Move around in the area till you see the bridge that is blocked by barb wire and wooden barriers. You won't be able to take your tank over those so you will have to cross on foor. Collect the items on the bridge if you need them. Walk up the path and you will come to a fork in the road so to speak. Go to the left and you will recieve ordes to rescue some Clergy from a chruch. Continue left and you will get to the church. Dispose of the NOD troups that are outside and then go around the back of the smaller house type building. Look through the window and shoot the NOD officer inside. That will rescue one woman. Then enter the church and shoot the 3 NOD gaurds inside. That will rescue the rest of the Clergy. Follow the Clergy outside and kill the 2 NOD flame thrower dudes that show up. Then once the Clergy is out of danger and your re-inforcments have arrived, go back into the church and to where those 3 NOD gaurds were. Turn yourself to face the entrance of the church and go to the right, you will see some stairs going up. Go up them and collect the flame thowers that are up there then climb the ladder that is there. Once your up the ladder jump over the railing onto the lower part of the roof of the church and collect the snipe rifle that is there. The use the sniper to kill the NOD commander in the tower up the hill and to kill the NOD gaurds coming down the hill. Go up that hill and kill any remaing NOD troups up there and then go into the tower and climb up. Collect the red security card and then continue on. You will see another tower up on another hill. Go up into it and collect the armor that is there if you need it. Get out of the tower and then take the path that is below you. You will be told to take out the Hand of NOD that is ahead. Don't worry this is very easy also. Kill any guards you come across. Place a C4 on the SAM site that is next to the Hand of NOD and blow it to bits. Next enter the Hand and just take your time and explore BEFORE you blow it up. If you make it to the basement, there is alot of ammo and other things to collect there. Once you done exploring get back to where you entered the hand and walk straight into that little plaque on the wall type thingy and take on of the doors on either side of it. You will come to an area with windows and a big ramp. Kill any gaurds in here if there are some and go down the ramp. Be carefull around the windows. NOD choppers may take some pot shots at you. Enter the door that is at the bottom of the ramp. You will enter a room with 3 NOD gaurds, kill them and enter the door they were guarding. Kill the engi in here and place a C4 on the panel on the wall. Stand back and blow it. Objective clear. Hand of NOD destroyed. Continue up the path and you will reach the NOD communications center and the detention center. You will recieve a secondary objective to infiltrate the communications center and destroy it, plus to hack into the mainframe computer and get some important information on the Brotherhood of NOD. Go into the communications center, just keep going through doors and you will enter a dark room with a green computer terminal and then what looks like some mainframe computers behind it. Go up to the terminal and download the info. Then find the Master Control Terminal. Set some C4 on it and blow that communications center sky high. After that get out of the Com station and go to the detention center. Touch the panel on the wall next to the entrance and walk in. Primary Objective complete. Good job soldier.
