I guess it was bound to happen eventually, as I grew up watching their films with my brother on our local independent station in the 80s and 90s. Even as we got older we never grew tired of their antics. It wasn't until recently that I re-discovered the Stooges, and this game was part of that. I remember my brother getting this game on his birthday many years ago and playing it for everyone. I don't know if he ever beat the game, but from my experience it can be somewhat difficult. One part of the more difficult segments of this game is the trivia section, which I found frustrating until I did some research. Looking at this game's FAQ section, I figured I could spare other gamers from the same frustration I had by making a guide that covers these questions and provides the answers. "You mean you actually played through this game several times and found EVERY SINGLE question?" Okay, okay, I cheated a bit. I used a hex editor and ROM to find the questions, which, luckily for hex-impaired folks like myself, were put into the ROM as regular ASCII text. A simple copy and paste followed by a bit of cleanup and that was that. I did have to play through the game some and do quite a bit of research to make sure I had the correct answers, but they're all here. Also, just for fun, for some of the questions I put in some "additional info" that provides more facts about the Q&As and gives insight into the life and times of the Three Stooges. Is there a lot of information to cover? Why, soitenly! =========================================================== 4. The Questions and Answers These questions are listed in the order they were listed in the ROM data. When you answer these questions in-game, hold down the proper direction for the answer and press A to confirm. Whenever Curly hears "Pop Goes the Weasel", he gets riled up and beats up whoever is in his way, which is why it's important to stop the music before he moiders ya! ---------------------------------------------------------- Q: Curly goes crazy after seeing a mouse, better feed him... A) Cheese B) Fruit C) Rat poison A: A) Cheese ADDITIONAL INFO: "Moe, Larry, the Cheese!" This classic scene can be found in the short film "Horses' Collars". ---------------------------------------------------------- Q: Moe, Curly and Shemp appeared in only one film together: A) "Fright Night" B) "Hugs and Mugs" C) "Hold That Lion" A: C) "Hold That Lion" ADDITIONAL INFO: This short was made after Curly had his stroke. A) 1958 B) 1947 C) 1971 A: A) 1958 ADDITIONAL INFO: I can't help but find this question misleading. If it's talking about when the Stooges shorts first entered syndication then the answer is correct. If it's talking about their first live appearance then the answer is wrong. The Stooges' first live television appearance was on the Ed Wynn Show back around 1947/1948. ---------------------------------------------------------- Q: In what year did the Stooges finish their last film? A) 1967 B) 1969 C) 1965 A: C) 1965 ADDITIONAL INFO: Another misleading question. Technically their last film was "Kook's Tour", which was actually supposed to be a pilot for a television series that had the guys spending their retirement traveling the world. It wound up becoming a film when Larry suffered a stroke while filming and they had to edit together what footage they had to make it a film. In terms of being an actual "Three Stooges" film, then the answer above is correct, as 1965 is when "The Outlaws Is Coming" was released. ---------------------------------------------------------- Q: What type of dogs were Curly's favorite? A) 1942 B) 1949 C) 1963 A: B) 1949 ADDITIONAL INFO: The pilot was called "Jerks of All Trades" and was not picked up by any networks. A) Hot Shot Insecticide B) Simoniz Car Wax C) Dickies Slacks A: A) Hot Shot Insecticide ADDITIONAL INFO: This was a new one to me. Anyone have more information about this? ---------------------------------------------------------- Q: What rock group had Moe haircuts? A) The Stoogephones B) The Turtles C) The Beatles A: C) The Beatles ADDITIONAL INFO: Ok, this one is pretty obvious. In the film you see Larry running to the radio store, getting a radio that plays "Pop Goes the Weasel", and then returning before Curly gets knocked out. The mini-game requires you to play out this scene yourself by controlling Larry and getting him to the store and back before the end of six rounds. What you don't see in the game, however, is that after he gets back, the radio changes songs. Curly is suddenly in trouble again and Moe smashes the radio over Larry's head in frustration! ---------------------------------------------------------- Q: What was the stadium named in "Three Little Pigskins"? A) Filmore stadium B) Kilmore stadium C) Gilmore stadium A: C) Gilmore stadium ADDITIONAL INFO: The Los Angeles Gilmore Stadium was built in 1934 and used mostly for American football games (two of which were All-Star games).
