Bug's Bunny's Birthday Blowout Boss FAQ Copyright Kemco 1990 Written By Brian P. Sulpher E-mail: briansulpher@hotmail.com Version 1.8 Dates Written: January 4th to January 5th, 2002 I dedicate this to the memory of my Uncle Gary. You always had a joke, you always threw work my way, and you always had a twinkle in your eyes that touched us all. The whole Sulpher Clan misses you, and know that you are gone, but definitely not forgotten. Also for Gail, who now has to soldier on without her soul mate. Remember that I live in the same city, I am always willing to help you out, and that the whole family is at your disposal for any help that you might need. Just take it one day at a time, and remember that we love you all very much (even Brittany). Also, for Cougar, Howler, and Koonce. I miss you, and I hope you are living it up in the afterlife as you did in this world. You will always be in my memories, and you will never be forgotten. ----------- Version 1.0 ----------- -submitted guide on 5 of January, 2003 ----------- Version 1.1 ----------- -submitted on January 18th, 2003 -Updated Round 5-4 Boss info (Foghorn Leghorn can hurt you). ----------- Version 1.5 ----------- -submitted on June 9th, 2004 -altered the format to make it read a little bit smoother ----------- Version 1.7 ----------- -Submitted guide on March 28th, 2005 -I added in Honestgamers as a site allowed to use my FAQs -further tweaked the format ----------- Version 1.8 ----------- -Submitted guide on June 22nd, 2005 -I added in Retronintendo as a site allowed to use my FAQs -Altered the format to make it easier on the eyes of the reader ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------Table Of Contents-------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1) Introduction 2) World One 3) World Two 4) World Three 5) World Four 6) World Five 7) World Six 8) Final Word ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- -----------------------------------Introduction----------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1) This game is a tough old challenge for old and new generations of gamers alike. What has happened to make this game exist that the Bugs Bunny has turned 50, and his fan club want to throw him a party! They send an invitation to his house, telling him where the party will be, and so he sets off to the party. However, the other Looney Tunes characters are not that happy about the situation, and they decide to stop Bugs Bunny through any method possible. This guide will give sure-fire methods of taking on the Looney Tunes in the each level so you have an easier time reaching your party! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------World One------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2) Rounds 1-1 to 1-4 will have their Bosses covered here. o-----------o | Round 1-1 | o-----------o The first level throws Daffy Duck in your way. Daffy will attack Bugs Bunny by running back and forth along the ground in a rapid manner. Each hit from Daffy Duck will remove one fourth of a heart (the heart will turn white, then black, then empty, and then it disappears completely). Daffy Duck is invulnerable to your mallet attacks, so you need to jump into carrots to gather them for yourself, and then use the resulting solid Warner Brothers symbols as ledges to reach the Giant Carrot above the Rabbit Season sign to get into your balloon to reach the next Round. o-----------o | Round 1-2 | o-----------o You arrive in this room in the top-right corner, and all you will see when you arrive is a single bush closer to the right side of the room than the left side of the room. Jump down to the ground, and then go near the bush to reveal that Tweety Bird is hiding behind the bush! Each hit from Tweety will remove quarter of a heart. Tweety will attack by walking out from behind the bush a little, and then throw a tomato at Bugs Bunny before quickly retreating to the safety of the bush. What Bugs Bunny needs to do is to walk toward the bush to bait Tweety Bird out, and then go backwards a little before quickly turning and swinging his mallet at the same time. This will not only knock Tweety backwards, but it will also prevent a Tomato being thrown in your direction. Three hits will do it here. o-----------o | Round 1-3 | o-----------o Daffy Duck returns once more, and this time you have a moving platform to ride above him so you can reach the Giant Carrot. Grab the four regular carrots as you go across on the moving platform, and then jump up to touch the Giant Carrot to leave the Round. Keep in mind that Daffy Duck can not be hurt, and he will remove quarter heart per touch on you. o-----------o | Round 1-4 | o-----------o Wile E. Coyote greets you while clutching his knife and fork. He will attack you with three different methods of attack: 1) Wile E. Coyote will walk at you, 2) Wile E. Coyote will jump in large leaping arcs (up to three in a row!), and 3) Wile E. Coyote will start stabbing in a methodical fashion in an attempt to slice and dice you (kind of like O.J Simpson... ALLEGEDLY!). Anyway, each hit from Wile E. Coyote will remove a quarter of a heart per hit on all three attacks. To kill Wile E. Coyote, you can simply hit him three times in a row (probably taking some damage as you do so), or you can try to jump over the attacks as they come at you, at which point you will turn in mid-air to swing your mallet to hit him. Congratulations on finishing World One! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------World Two------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3) Rounds 2-1 to 2-4 will have their Bosses covered here. o-----------o | Round 2-1 | o-----------o Daffy Duck is back, and this time you actually have to work a little bit to get to the Giant Carrot. The usual rules of no hurting Daffy Duck whatsoever, and the removal of one quarter of a heart per hit. Head left from the chimney you came through to jump over Daffy, then wait at the seesaw till Daffy Approaches, and then jump him so he goes off the wall so he starts back to the right. Now you need to hit the higher part of the seesaw to launch yourself into the air, land on the brick, jump up to the higher ledge, and then collect the carrots before getting the Giant Carrot to leave the level. o-----------o | Round 2-2 | o-----------o This room contains only a cloud on the ground closer to the right side of the room instead of the left side of the room. Tweety Bird is of course hiding behind this cloud, and you will need to use the same tactics as before (bait Tweety out, run away quickly, and then turn and swing mallet). Three hits will send Tweety packing. The usual rules of a quarter heart removed per hit. o-----------o | Round 2-3 | o-----------o This room has no Boss for you to tangle with, so just use your mallet to bust through the impressive amount of rock blocks in your path. Bust through the bottom left or extreme right set of rock blocks to reach the Giant Carrot quickly so you can leave this Round behind. o-----------o | Round 2-4 | o-----------o Yosamite Sam, the roughest toughest hombre to ever lock horns with a rabbit awaits you here. He has three attacks: 1) his favourite way to attack is to shoot corks at you fairly rapidly (each one will remove one whole heart from your life meter!), 2) walking into you (removes one quarter of a heart), and 3) jumps into you (removes one quarter of a heart). Your job is to jump down beside him so you hit him as you fall in to the room for a free hit. Next you will need to use a jumping attack for the next two hits. Keep in mind that making contact with his body as you attack will not be a big deal because he will only damage you for one quarter of a heart. If you use the jumping mallet swing, you will get the hit in, take the body damage instead of the cork damage, and then get ready to leap into the air to land the third hit. Take the Giant Carrot to leave World Two behind you! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- -----------------------------------World Three------------------------------ ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4) Rounds 3-1 to 3-4 will have their Bosses covered here. o-----------o | Round 3-1 | o-----------o Daffy Duck is once again ready to greet Bugs Bunny when he arrives to find his Big Carrot. This is a really simple one to do, so follow these directions closely (not really needed to follow closely, but anyway): Jump from your platform to the rock ledge above you to the right, and then hop from there to the rock ledge further right to get your Giant Carrot. Daffy can not be harmed as usual, and he does remove quarter of a heart in the usual fashion as well. o-----------o | Round 3-2 | o-----------o Elmer Fudd appears to try and get the Wascally Wabbit in this Round. Elmer has two methods of attack: 1) Shooting a net to trap Bugs for a short period of time (lessened when you wiggle back and forth repeatedly), and 2) walking into Bugs. Both of these attacks remove one quarter of a heart each. To beat Elmer, wait for him to shoot a net, jump it, and as you are landing from the jump you will swing your mallet to thump Elmer. Do this three times to make short work out of the inept hunter. o-----------o | Round 3-3 | o-----------o Daffy Duck has returned again! It is too bad you can not wallop this guy so he would not return, but his Boss Rooms are rather simple, so I guess we can not complain about. The usual rules of one quarter heart removed per hit and Daffy is invulnerable to your attacks apply. The easiest room yet as Bugs Bunny just needs to walk off the oil drum, and then hold LEFT on the D-Pad to get your Giant Carrot to finish the Round. o-----------o | Round 3-4 | o-----------o Sylvester the Cat's Son guards the end of World Three while riding his trusty... SKATEBOARD?!? Anyway, He will move back and forth slowly between the two walls, and your job is to hit him three times (big surprise there). If he hits Bugs, you will one quarter of a heart. Jump him as he gets close to you, turn in the air, and hit him from behind with your mallet as he passes by. Do this three times and you will have defeated him! However, Sylvester will take exception to this, and he will join the fray quickly to avenge his Son! He too will do the same back and forth action of his Son, but if he touches you, you will lose one whole heart (OUCH!). Go about defeating Sylvester in the same manner with the jump and hit technique for the required three hits. This will get you out of World Three, and onto World Four! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- -----------------------------------World Four------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 5) Rounds 4-1 to 4-4 will have their Bosses covered here. o-----------o | Round 4-1 | o-----------o After making your way through the first cave of the World, you will arrive to learn that Rabbit Season is indeed on. Once again Daffy Duck has returned with his usual effects of removing one quarter heart per hit and his invulnerability. He will have a few rock ledges above him, which you need to hop across to reach the Giant Carrot to finish the Round. o-----------o | Round 4-2 | o-----------o You will arrive in a room with four platforms (one occupied by the pipe you came in through), and two rock formations that can hide things (just guess at who the Boss is). Yes, the one and only Tweety Bird has returned to torment you with tomato throwing abilities. Tweety will remove one quarter heart per hit, and he will hide till you draw near, at which point it charges out to attack. Go near to the right rock formation to draw Tweety out, go back one step, turn, and then swing. Hit Tweety Bird three times to end this Round. o-----------o | Round 4-3 | o-----------o Daffy Duck is back again! To beat this incarnation of Daffy Duck, jump him as he charges you, jump onto the Rabbit Season sign, and then hop up to the Giant Carrot. The usual rules of quarter heart removed per hit and Daffy is invulnerable. o-----------o | Round 4-4 | o-----------o Pepe Le Pew is the final guardian of World 4! He will make use of his most special technique, the poisonous Stink Spray (it removes one whole heart with each hit!). Pepe will also remove a quarter heart each time his body touches you. To beat this stinky old skunk, you will need to hide behind the rock formations of the room so the stink clouds will not hit you, and when Pepe goes past, jump up from behind your cover, swing your mallet into him, and then go behind cover before Pepe can get his slow to fire butt into play. Three hits will send the lovesick Skunk back to France where he can try to get a lady skunk (although he will likely find a cat for that...). ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- -----------------------------------World Five------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 6) Rounds 5-1 to 5-4 will have their Bosses covered here. o-----------o | Round 5-1 | o-----------o Daffy Duck appearing should not be of any shock to you, and here he is like his good old punctual self. The usual rules of Daffy is invulnerable and he removes one quarter of a heart per hit still apply. Wait till Daffy Duck charges at the tree stump you came through, jump over him, head left, and then hop onto the block on the far right. Now you just need to hop across the blocks going left till you reach the ledge by the left wall with the Giant Carrot to end the round! o-----------o | Round 5-2 | o-----------o Elmer Fudd returns to torment you on this Round! Elmer has two methods of attack: 1) Shooting a net to trap Bugs for a short period of time, and 2) walking into Bugs. Both of these attacks remove one quarter of a heart each. To beat Elmer Fudd, you as the Wascally Wabbit should jump the net shot at you, swing your mallet as you fall down from the jump to hit Elmer, and then repeat two more times to put Elmer out of the hunting racket for this Round. Remember to wiggle back and forth quickly to break free of the net quickly. o-----------o | Round 5-3 | o-----------o When you arrive in this room, you will see spikes on the floor, as well as a few platforms (one of which has the Giant Carrot!) with no Boss in sight. However, Daffy Duck will be to the right, guarding a trove of carrots (collect them if you wish). Whenever you are done here, grab the easily accessible Giant Carrot, and head off to the next round. The usual Daffy Duck rules apply with him being invulnerable to your attacks, and he will remove one quarter heart per hit. o-----------o | Round 5-4 | o-----------o You will enter this room to see that both Foghorn and Leghorn (BOY, I say Boy! It is Foghorn Leghorn son!), and one of his arch-nemesis’s in The Chickenhawk! The Chickenhawk will remove one quarter of a heart for each hit he puts on you, and Foghorn Leghorn will not harm you unless you walk into his side for one quarter of a heart damage (you can stand on his head with no penalty to your health)! To win in this room, all you need to do is jump down through the carrot, jump off of Foghorn Leghorn to the now present WB logo, and then hop up to the ledge above where the Chickenhawk awaits. Once on the ledge just above the Chickenhawk, just swing your mallet into the helpless Chickenhawk for three quick hits, and he will fall off the screen quickly. Foghorn Leghorn will quickly die after the Chickenhawk falls away. Another quick note for this fight is that if you stand on Foghorn Leghorn and then swing your mallet, Foghorn will quickly move back to right underneath the WB logo. After finishing these two off, you have just one more World to go! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------World Six------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 7) Rounds 6-1 to 6-4 will have their Bosses covered here. o-----------o | Round 6-1 | o-----------o Daffy Duck is still looking to get Bugs Bunny during Rabbit Season yet again! The usual rules for Daffy Duck still apply with one quarter of heart removed per hit, and Daffy is invulnerable to all attacks. The easiest, fastest and safest way to do it is to jump up to touch the two carrots above you, jump onto the resulting WB logos, and then hop across the top two platforms to land on the Rabbit Season sign before jumping up to the next ledge for the Giant Carrot collection. o-----------o | Round 6-2 | o-----------o Elmer Fudd has returned for one more attempt to get that Wascally Wabbit! Elmer has two methods of attack: 1) Shooting a net to trap Bugs for a short period of time, and 2) walking into Bugs. Both of these attacks remove one quarter of a heart each. Remember that if you get netted by Elmer’s attacks, quickly wiggle LEFT and RIGHT alternately to break loose faster than waiting for the net to let go. To finally stop the frequent Elmer attacks, attack Elmer using the following method to beat him easily: Wait for Elmer to shoot a net at Bugs, jump the net, swing your mallet as you are falling down while in range of Elmer, and then repeat two more times to move onto the next Round. o-----------o | Round 6-3 | o-----------o Daffy Duck sure is persistent isn't he? Anyway, Rabbit Season is open for business again, and you can not harm Daffy Duck as usual. Daffy will also remove one quarter of heart per hit he puts on you. This room requires the most work of all the Daffy Duck rooms, and that is not surprising considering this is the LAST time you have to fight him (YES!). Start by getting Daffy Duck moving on his platform, wait till he has to be heading right when you jump up to his level, and then jump up to collect the two carrots above you. Now you need to hop up to the WB logos, jump right to hit the carrot in the air (do this when Daffy is heading to the left), and then run off the platform to the right. Now head back to the left side of the platform (you are still below it), and then hop up onto the platform before hopping to the WB logo. Now hop right to the next WB logo, and then hop across to the ledge on the right with the Giant Carrot to end the Round! o-----------o | Round 6-4 | o-----------o The Tasmanian Devil is the final foe you will face on your path to the Birthday Bash being thrown by your fan club in your honour! You will appear through the vase, and the Tasmanian Devil will be below you. The Tasmanian Devil appears to have taken up football waiting for you to arrive at this nice Mansion, and his attacks will remove one whole heart from your life meter (touching will remove one quarter heart only). How do you take down the toughest Looney Tune of them all? You need to hit the footballs thrown at you back at the Tazmanian Devil for six hits to send him packing. Sounds simple enough, but the footballs move quite fast as well as a football hit at him can be blocked by the next one he throws (more likely to happen when he has sped up from a few hits). The Tazmanian Devil also hoofs it back and forth across the room quite fast himself. After six hits, you will have succeeded in winning the game, so a hearty Congratulations to yourself for a job well done! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------Final Word-------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 8) As is the usual, this walkthrough is copyright property of Brian P. A great game that few have played, and even fewer have mastered. A game that might have been aimed at small children, but it requires the dedicated effort of someone who has a mind a little older than that. Do not take this game lightly, or you will fail rather miserably in your efforts. I am glad that you chose this guide, and Gary, I will miss you a lot man as you were a great man who loved life and your family! Here's hoping you are still cracking those jokes, still smirking those smiles, and still being the great man in the afterlife that you were in the real life, giving a ray of sunshine to those who may need... where ever you may be now.
