Sulpher E-mail: briansulpher@hotmail.com Version 2.6 Dates Written: November 20th, 2003 I dedicate this to my brother Michael. You really did like this game as I did. It just took me a lot longer to realize how cool this game really is. Thanks for your patience, the help, and for being a good dude most of the time. Also, for Cougar. I miss you, and I hope you are living it up in the afterlife as you did in this world. You will always be in my memories, and you will never be forgotten. Also, In memory of Howler and Koonce. You two never had a good start in your lives, but you had a good time when you spent your time at my house. It was oh so unfortunate that you both had your already tragic lives cut short, but I can only hope that I helped make your life a more enjoyable experience. You too will be missed, but not forgotten. ----------- Version 1.0 ----------- -Submitted FAQ on 20th of November, 2002 ----------- Version 2.0 ----------- -Submitted FAQ on 6th of July, 2003 -Altered format -Checked spelling and grammar ----------- Version 2.5 ----------- -Submitted FAQ on 15th of July, 2003 -Altered format to make it easier on the eyes ----------- Version 2.6 ----------- -Submitted guide on 30th of October, 2005 -I added in Retronintendo and Honestgamers as sites allowed to use my FAQs -Altered the format to make it easier on the eyes of the reader ----------- Version 2.7 ----------- -Submitted guide on 9th of September, 2007 -Added in how to pin an opponent -Altered the format slightly ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- -----------------------------Table Of Contents------------------------------ ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1) Introduction 2) Wrestler Bios 3) Movesets 4) Match Rules 5) Muscle Training 6) Strategies 7) Final Word ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------Introduction--------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1) "Hello! ....And welcome to the Tecmo World Wrestling extravaganza. I'm your announcer Tom Talker coming to you live from the magnificent Tecmo Coliseum. The Mega-Event is about to begin where the TWW Title Crown is on the line. Who will win and become the new champion of Tecmo World Wrestling? Just think, you could be sitting on top of the world wearing the TWW Champion Belt! Go for it!" These are the words Tom Talker greets you with. This is your mission, your goal, your DESIRE. To be the absolute best that there is, and to hoard this fact over all the others who would be crowned champion as well. So go fight through the other nine competitors to become champion, but be wary because this is wrestling, and things do not always occur as they would in real life... ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------Wrestler Bios-------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2) This section will give a quick run-down of what each characters name is, their nickname, place of origin, Height, Weight, and their best techniques to use on their opposition. o--------------o | Akira Dragon | o--------------o Nickname : The Samurai Place of Origin: Japan Height : 6 feet, 3 inches Weight : 231 pounds Best Techniques: Back Brain Kick & German Suplex o----------o | El Tigre | o----------o Nickname : Striker Place of Origin: Mexico Height : 6 feet Weight : 242 pounds Best Techniques: Back Drop & Northern Right Suplex o------------o | Pat Gordon | o------------o Nickname : Greek Warrior Place of Origin: Greece Height : 6 feet, 5 inches Weight : 282 pounds Best Techniques: Back Drop & Power Slam o----------o | Rex Beat | o----------o Nickname : British Star Place of Origin: Britain Height : 6 feet, 2 inches Weight : 286 pounds Best Techniques: Power Bomb & Death Drop o------------o | Jackie Lee | o------------o Nickname : Kung-Fu Master Place of Origin: Hong Kong Height : 5 feet, 11 inches Weight : 264 pounds Best Techniques: German Suplex & Power Slam o--------------o | Boris Chekov | o--------------o Nickname : The Siberian Machine Place of Origin: U.S.S.R. --------------------------------Match Rules--------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4) This section will list the rules of the match that should be followed, or you might end up disqualified. a) To win, you must pin your opponent for a three count or they must be disqualified (see the following Match Rules for disqualifying actions). b) Each match lasts for a maximum of seven minutes. If no winner is decided upon within the time limit, the match is called a draw, with no winner being awarded. c) If a wrestler is outside of the ring for a twenty count, they will be disqualified. d) If both wrestlers are outside of the ring for a twenty count, the result of the match is a draw, with no winner being awarded. e) If a wrestler is on the tope rope for five seconds, they will be disqualified. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------Muscle Training------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 5) This section will explain what this is, what effect it has, and the various exercises you can perform. o---------------------------------------o | What Muscle Training Is & It's Effect | o---------------------------------------o This allows your attacks to do more damage. You can increase your attack power by a total of seven times your beginning power level. How this is achieved will be explained further down this section. o------------------------------------o | Exercise To Perform & How To Do So | o------------------------------------o You get your choice of doing Squats, Push-Ups, or Sit-Ups (they are all have the same effect on your strength, so do not fret over which one to pick). Once you enter your training session, get ready for some Button mashing mayhem! Press the A Button as fast as you can to train your muscles. The meter to measure your progress is located on the top of the screen, and looks like the following: +---------------------------------------------------------------+ | | | POWER O O O O O O O | | +--+ | | PUSH >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> TIME |10| | | +--+ | | | +---------------------------------------------------------------+ Power gets filled up one circle at a time, as you do one full Push meter. It helps you to have a Turbo Controller, but barring that, a good manual round will win you a couple circles of power. Every time you lose, you lose one circle of power, but you have the option of training some more, so you can win it back, and then add onto your already trained muscles for even more power! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------Strategies---------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 6) This section will list some strategies to keep in mind while you quest towards the Tecmo World Wrestling Title Belt! a) Try to wear your opponent down with submissions when they are down on the mat. This will make your efforts to get them hurt that much faster and it comes with minimal risk of being counterattacked than with the higher risk moves. b) Try to use a move that is easy to pull off like a Piledriver. You can use this one anywhere in the ring (as opposed to the Back Brain Buster), and it does a fair amount of damage. c) If an opponent is giving you lots of trouble, try to get them counted out on the outside of the ring. Grapple with them, and knock them down at about a 17 count to get the win (a little underhanded, but a win is a win). Just be careful that they do not get you counted out instead! d) If you struggle with your opponents, a good strategy at the start is to purposely lose at the beginning so you can raise your POWER through Muscle Training. You can fill yourself up so you can cruise through your opposition. Thgis is dependent upon ebing able to gain a lot in muscle training, as you do drop some muscle power as a penalty for losing a match. e) After you beat the last opponent, you will receive your Belt, but you are in for one more match with a mystery opponent... ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------Final Word----------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 7) As is the usual, this walkthrough is copyright property of Brian P. This is easily the best NES wrestling game around. Good graphics, wide array of moves (most with their proper names), and interesting looking characters make this a fun romp. I hope you enjoy the game as much as I do, and remember that the specialty moves are a lot of fun to use, but some characters have far more useful and powerful moves than others.
