The Cold War ends and so does the dominance of hair metal in the music scene. In the 80's, many alternative sports started began to take hold in certain social groups. Sports like skateboarding, snowboarding, and in-line skating started to gain some momentum during this period. The 90's saw the mainstreaming of these x-treme sports. In modernity, we have whole channels and publications dedicated to these once underground sports. Rollerblade Racer is an early contributor to the mainstreaming of in-line skating. This is why this otherwise terrible NES game by Radiance Software and Designer Software and their publisher, Hi- Tech is worthy of a guide. Of course, I'm doing you folks a favor. This is a dialogue guide. I played the game so you do not have to. This is all story without the rotten filler. I suppose Hi-Tech saw what other NES developers had done with games like Skate or Die, 720, Ski or Die, or Heavy Shreddin', and figured they could cash in on the x-treme sports market. Barring Skate or Die, all those previously mentioned games are terrible. I guess Hi-Tech felt compelled to copy this feature too. Spare yourselves, I beg you! This game is the worst of all the extreme sport titles on the NES. Worse than even Skate or Die 2 or even Heavy Shreddin'. According to GameFAQs, this is only 1 of 2 games with the official 'Rollerblade' title. No wonder they waited 10 years from this game to release the next on mobile phones. ******************************************************************************* Part 1. Lace Up Those Skates!
