The first Mega Man game I can remember playing is Mega Man 2 on the NES. The first Robot Master I can remember fighting is Wood Man, which makes him one of my favorite Robot Masters. Mega Man has always been my favorite video game icon since I was a kid. I own every American released Classic Mega Man and Mega Man X game. I don't really play the other series' though. ============================================================================== --------------------------------About This FAQ-------------------------------- ============================================================================== I decided to write this FAQ for anyone who hasn't been into Mega Man for very long and wants to better themselfs at fighting the Robot Masters with only the Mega Buster. I hope this guide helps you! I have covered all the Robot Master Battles from Mega Man's 1 - 10, Mega Man & Bass. The Stardroids from Mega Man V, the Mega Man Killers, the Doc Robots from Mega Man 3, and Bonus Battles against Mega Man Himself, Dark Man, and Fake Man I hope this guide helps you out! As a downfall though, the weapons weren't too great and the Robot Masters were all easy for the most part. It was also the first to have Beat the bird in it as well. It also tryed something new with Rush Coil, which I though was interesting, but the original was still better. It was also the first to have a ninth Robot Master. For a Strategy on how to fight Dark Man with the Mega Buster, look in the Bonus Battles Section. ------Stone Man------ Difficulty: 3/10 Power Stone----- 4 Collision------- 6 Pile of stones-- 0 (You can run or slide through him) Very easy fight. Stone Man has 2 Attacks, one he uses when you are far away, the other he uses when you are close to him. He use's Power Stone when you are far away, this causes two Stones to circle outward from Stone Man for a short distance, after he does that he will jump at you, slide under him to avoid him If he is too close to you and you are forced to go into the stones, then try to go into the middle of the two, otherwise just ignore them. When you are close to him, he will just jump around and when he jumps high enough, he will crumble into a pile of rocks, you can't hurt him during that time, so take that time to charge up the Mega Buster. Video Link... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=97Cygiyg8Wc Stone Man's Fight is from 0:01 - 0:39 ------Gravity Man------ Difficulty: 4/10 Buster Shot-- 4 Collision---- 5 Also not hard. You just have be be accurate at shooting. You can only shoot Gravity Man as he switch's the gravity. Try to stay about halfway across the room and slide to avoid the shots he fires at you. Prepare Charged Shots as you wait for him to switch Gravity and hit him when he does swtich it. As long as you are accurate he shouldn't be hard. Video Link... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=97Cygiyg8Wc Gravity Man's Fight is from 0:40 - 1:15 ------Crystal Man------ Difficulty: 5/10 Crystal Eye---- 3 Crystal Shard-- 4 Collision------ 5 Crystal Man is probably one of the more difficult Robot Masters in Mega Man 5, thats not saying much though, because he is still not that hard. When the fight starts he will jump high and release 4 small crystals that will bounce around the room try to jump somewhere around the middle of the 4, that way you can jump over 2, then slide away from them. After that he will jump around a bit and occassionally do a short jump and fire 1 Crystal Type Projectile, just Slide away from it or jump over it. Video Link... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=97Cygiyg8Wc Crystal Man's Fight is from 1:16 - 1:56 ------Napalm Man------ Difficulty: 5/10 Missile------ 5 Napalm Bomb-- 4 Collision---- 5 Napalm Man's Attacks can be triggered by how far away you far, if you are a little less than half a screen away from him he will shoot 3 Missiles at you, just jump over them one at a time to avoid them, if you are any closer than that, he will fire 2 Napalm Bombs into the air at an Arc, just slide away from them to dodge them. After he does one of the two attacks he will jump at you, either slide under him or away from him and repeate. Video Link... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=97Cygiyg8Wc Napalm Man's Fight is from 1:57 - 2:26 ------Gyro Man------ Difficulty: 4/10 Gyro Attack-- 6 Collision---- 5 Gyro Man, like most of the other Mega Man 5 Robot Masters, isn't hard. He will either throw of Gyro Blade at you, just jump over it or slide under it to avoid it, or he fly into the clouds and throw a Gyro Blade at you from where he flew up at, you can't slide under the ones that he throws at you from up there, so just jump over it and and slide away because he will try to land on you. Repeate and he shouldn't take too long to kill. Video Link... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=97Cygiyg8Wc Gyro Man's Fight is from 2:27 - 3:06 ------Star Man------ Difficulty: 2/10 Star Crash-- 4 Collision--- 5 Star Man is probably the easiest shield weilding boss in the entire classic series. Simply all he will do is put on Star Crash and jump at you, so either slide under him if he jumps high or jump over him if he jumps low and charge up the Mega Buster until he throw's the shield at you (Which travels slowly) and hit him with the charged shot, easy. Video Link... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=97Cygiyg8Wc Star Man's Fight is from 3:07 - 3:54 ------Wave Man------ Difficulty: 4/10 Harpoon----- 4 Water Wave-- 3 Collision--- 5 Wave Man has a simple random pattern. First he will make a small burst of water come up from the ground, just jump up and right or left as he puts his arm cannon down to the ground and you should avoid it, after that he will shoot a slow moving Harpoon at you and then jump at you, jump over the harpoon and slide under him or away from him. Try to stay about 1 Mega Man Distance away from him and half the time you won't even have to jump to avoid the Water Wave, still jump though just in case. Video Link... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=97Cygiyg8Wc Wave Man's Fight is from 3:55 - 4:25 ------Charge Man------ Difficulty: 6/10 Fireballs-- 4 Collision-- 5 Charge Man is probably the most difficult Robot Master in Mega Man 5. At the beginning of the fight he will charge at you, jumping over him may be a bit awkward at times, but it isn't too bad, jump over him, hit him, and slide away. Now he will run around for a second before either charging at you again or firing some fireballs into the air that will fall down in a set of 3 and in random places, do you best to avoid them. You also can't harm Charge Man while he is Charging at you or shooting the fireballs. Video Link... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=97Cygiyg8Wc Charge Man's Fight is from 4:26 - 5:05 ============================================================================== --------------------------------BONUS BATTLE!--------------------------------- ============================================================================== Here we will cover some Extra Robot's that I always considered 9th Robot Masters. Basically it's just Mega Man, Dark Man, and Fake Man. To See the strategy's for Mega Man and/or Fake Man then check out my guide on the Mega Man 1 or Mega Man 9 FAQ Page. ------Dark Man------ Difficulty: 6/10 Barrier------ 6 Buster Shot-- 6 Collision---- 5 Dark Man is special to me, I honestly feel like he was the first hidden ninth Robot Master, even though most don't consider him to be one, I do. When the fight starts he will summon a barrier around him that will go in and back out over and over again until he fires it off. Try to shoot at Dark Man as his barrier is going in towards him, and jump over it when he fires it off. Slide under him or away from him when he jumps, and slide under his shots when he fires at you. More than anything though, you will be paying most attention to his barrier thoughout most of the fight so that you know when to shoot.
