Introduction -= -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Major League is, as you would guess, a baseball game for the Famicom. If you played one baseball game, you've played them all, but this one is a slight bit more involving. The only bit of customization you get is that you need to set up your starting lineup, as well as what players you want on the bench that can step in as needed. It is not much, but it certainly adds a new element to this title that is not found in similar games. Other than that, the gameplay is the same (though your players seem to be a bit smarter, in that they will actually run towards a fly ball before the screen scrolls over to them). Overview -= -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= ========== Game Modes ========== 1P VS COM: Play a regular game against the computer. 1P VS 2P: Play a regular game against another human player. WATCH: Watch the computer play a game on its own. BATTING: This is a homerun derby mode, where you can set the amount of balls pitched to you. COLOR: Adjusts the color scheme (press B to change). ======== Pre-Game ======== After you select your team, you will go to a screen where you will see your players. On the left side is the starting nine batters (the starting pitcher will be in the last position automatically). On the right side is your bench area. You can have a maximum of five players active on the bench (their names are in white at the top of the list). The other players can not be used at all in the game unless they are moved onto the active bench (this includes pitchers). You are given four extra pitchers (投), 5-6 relief batters, and 1-2 backup catchers (捕). You can only have one catcher in the game at once, so you can only substitute your current catcher for another one.
