Attacks *************** I'll start by explaining the attacks. All attacks fall into one of four categories - Fire, Phys (physical), Pow (power/lightning), or Ven (venom). All monsters have powerful shields against some of these attacks, but most of them have one particularly underdeveloped shield you can exploit by attacking them with a spell of that type. Example: A monster with a powerful Phys shield but a weak Ven shield should be attacked with a Ven type spell. These spells are: *Ven Spells* *Phys Spells* Ven - Ve Na Hu Ra Na Boulder - Ph Ra Na Spear - Ph Ol Mi Ra Axor - Ph Ra St Razor - Ph Ol Ra Bommeraxe - Ph Na Hu *Pow Spells* *Fire Spells* Lightning Fire Ball - Fi St Mi Ra Dispell - Po Hu Na St Fire Ring - Fi Ol Na Ra St Repellent - Po Ol Mi St Na Fire Spray - Fi Ol Hu Na Ra Psychic - Po Ra Ol Hu St Fire Storm - Fi Ra Na Ol Hu Death Ring - Po St Ra Mi St There are five other weapons you can use to kill the enemy. They are: Staff of Power What it Does - Fires a level 1 Pow spell. Costs no mana to use How to get it - You have to buy the walking stick in the Town. It automatically turns into the Staff of Power when you get the power tablet by defeating the Marsh Serpent in the Wilderness Staff of Mayhem What it Does - Fires a level 1 Ven spell. Costs no mana. How to get it - It's found in a treasure chest in the Castle. Staff of Knell What it Does - Fires a level 1 Phys spell. Costs no mana. How to get it - It's found in a treasure chest in the Dungeons. Staff of Blayze What it does - Fires a level 1 Fire spell. Costs no mana. How to get it - It's found in a treasure chest in the Castle. Ring of Hale What it does - Fires a level 2 Fire spell. Costs no mana. How to get it - It's found in a treasure chest in the Castle. There are also four shield spells you'll need, to protect you from attacks of these four types. They are Ven Shield - Ve Ra Na Mi St Phys Shield - Ph Ra Na Ra Hu Pow Shield - Po Ra Na St Ra Fire Shield - Fi Ra Na Hu Ra 3. Monster List *************** How to Use this Monster List ********** Monster's Name here Attacks - The spells/abilities this monster uses to kill you Levels Seen - Where you can find this monster (Town, Wilderness, Lake, Forest, Caves, Dungeon, Castle, or Tower) Weaknesses - What spell types are best for killing this monster Movement - How this monster moves and dodges your attacks Appearance - What the monster looks like Notes - Any info that would help you kill this monster ********** Abadon Attacks - Any offensive spell Levels Seen - Tower Weaknesses - None (except the Ultimate Potion) Movement - Flys above you back and forth, up and down a bit Appearance - A man twice your size, clad in white, flying Notes - The big evil wizard himself. The Ultimate Potion hurts him if you use it in battle, but I'm not sure if the Ultimate Potion is required afterwards or not. Use any powerful spell to destroy him (but don't alternate spells, destroy one of his shields and whack away with that spell type) , or any of the staves or the Ring of Hale. You'll need high shields, so I'd recommend using the Amulet of Sheeld before the battle. With a bit of luck, you can take him down. ********** Devils Attacks - Fire Balls Levels Seen - Forest, Caves, Dungeon, Castle, Tower Weaknesses - Unknown Movement - Flying in small circles Appearance - Small, red, legless demons flying around Notes - I'd recommend using a Spear spell to hit them in midair, or a Phys spell against them when they're near the ground. ********** Eye-Balls Attacks - Fire Balls Levels Seen - Caves, Dungeon, Castle, Tower Weaknesses - Unknown Movement - Slowly hovers over the floor, back and forth Appearance - Large floating eyeballs Notes - Their attacks are nearly impossible to dodge, but fortunately, they can't dodge yours. Kill them quickly, with rapid attacks. ********** Gargoyles Attacks - Fire Balls Levels Seen - Lake, Caves, Castle, Tower (not sure) Weaknesses - Phys Movement - Quickly flying in large, oval-ish patterns Appearance - Large, Green, Winged beasts Notes - These guys are tough! Use spear against them when they're in midair, or Fire Spray while walking underneath them. They're Fire attacks aren't too hard to dodge (except in the Lake level, where you fight from a small rock) as long as you keep moving, but avoid touching them when they fly downwards. ********** Ghosts Attacks - Lightning (weak) Levels Seen - Lake, Caves, Dungeon (not sure), Castle Weaknesses - Pow Movement - Slow, circular flight Appearance - white blobs with black eyes, floating in midair Notes - You see a lot of these guys in the lake level. Use the Staff of Power against these guys, and don't worry too much about their attacks, they're weak. ********** Giant Spider Attacks - Poisonous touch Levels Seen - Caves, Dungeons, Castle (not sure), Tower Weaknesses - Unknown Movement - Slowly walking in one direction Appearance - Large black spiders on the ground Notes - They don't attack, but touching them removes health and poisons you. They also can't walk backwards, so you can just fly over them. ********** Golems Attacks - Boulder Levels Seen - Caves Weaknesses - Unknown Movement - Slowly pacing back and forth Appearance - Walking Stone Statues Notes - They're attacks are easy to dodge unless they're in numbers. Just use an attack that hits them from a distance, and you should be fine. ********** Knights Attacks - None, but they hurt you if you touch them Levels Seen - Castle Weaknesses - Pow Movement - Walking back and forth, at the same pace you walk Appearance - The same size as you, but dressed in armor Notes - I just avoid these guys. They're easy enough to dodge, and they don't appear frequently. But if you're bent on killing them, use lightning attacks. ********** Marsh Serpent Attacks - Venom Levels Seen - Wilderness Weaknesses - Fire Movement - None Appearance - A large Serpent, wrapped up in the swamp Notes - You only see this monster once, at the end of the Wilderness level. Be sure to have a strong Ven shield before fighting this guy and an Anti-Ven potion for after the fight. Their Ven attack is thrown in an arc and hits your head. Run back and forth to help dodge their attacks. I'd recommend using Fire Ring or Fire Ball against this monster. ********** Medusa Statue Attacks - Venom Levels Seen - Caves Weaknesses - Pow or Phys Movement - None Appearance - A woman's face carved in a rock wall. Notes - Her attack is the same as the Marsh serpent, but she's less vulnerable than it. You have to fly up and attack it (preferably with the Staff of Power), or use an attack that can hit her from below. ********** Old Lady Attacks - Health drain Levels Seen - Caves Weaknesses - None Movement - None Appearance - Old lady in a rocking chair Notes - DO NOT KILL HER! She only appears in one chamber in the Caves, and she's your ticket out of that level. When you're her chamber, your health will drop until you die. To prevent this, use the Three Gold Charms you've hopefully attained (you get one by meeting the baby dragon in the Caves if you have the dragons egg, and get the other two in the Maze of Doom in the Caves) to make her young, and she'll give you the Vial of Wind and transport you to the Dungeons. ********** Poison Mushroom Attacks - Ven Levels Seen - Forest Weaknesses - Pow Movement - None Appearance - A large, yellow and green mushroom\ Notes - This monster appears near the beginning of the forest. It shoots a Ven attack in an arc hitting you in the head. The Staff of Power is good for defeating this monster. Anti-Ven potion will be helpful, too. ********** Sphinx Attacks - Fire Ball/Fire Spray Levels Seen - Castle Weaknesses - Pow or Phys Movement - None Appearance - A red, flaming sphinx Notes - You'll only see him once, near the end of the Castle, at the end of the fire bridge. His Fire ball attack is launched in an arc and hits you in the head. Just run back and forth and hit him with a Pow or Phys attack. Beating him gets you the Vial of Fire. ********** Skeletons Attacks - None, but they hurt you if you touch them Levels Seen - Caves Weaknesses - Unknown Movement - Pacing back and forth across the floor Appearance - Large Skeletons carrying swords Notes - Keep your distance from these guys and blast 'em with ranged spells. ********** Snakes Attacks - Venom Levels Seen - Forest Weaknesses - None Movement - None Appearance - Small snakes, coiled up on the ground Notes - These guys aren't really enemies, but you'll have to worry about them. They appear only outside the large house at the end of the Forest. There are three, each one guarding a door. Before you can enter the doors, you have to answer their riddles. Get it right and you can pass. Get it wrong and you die. ********** Tentacles Attacks - Poisonous strike (instant death on contact) Levels Seen - Forest, Caves Weaknesses - None Movement - Stuck in place, moving up and down slightly Appearance - Spiked vines, sticking out of the ground Notes - These aren't too dangerous. They kill instantly when you touch them, and are indestructible. They move up and down out of the floor. Fortunately, they're stuck in the ground. Just fly over them. ********** Townsfolk Attacks - Phys (axor, razor, boomeraxe) Levels Seen - Town, Wilderness, Lake, Forest, Caves Weaknesses - Pow Movement - Walking back and forth Appearance - The same size as Paul, but dressed differently. Notes - Not technically enemies, but they can be. You can talk to them, get items from them, and so on. But don't attack them, or they'll attack you. If you do accidently kill one, be sure to search the corpse for food or money. ********** Warriors Attacks - Phys (axor, razor, boomeraxe) Levels Seen - All but Castle and Tower Weaknesses - Pow Movement - Walking back and forth Appearance - Any townsfolk Notes - They look exactly like ordinary townsfolk, except they attack you. The staff of power is very useful for taking these guys down. Also, be sure to search their corpses after killing these guys. They sometimes have food or money. ********** Wug Attack - Club (instant death on contact) Levels Seen - Forest, Caves, Dungeon, Castle, Tower (not sure) Weaknesses - Pow Movement - Walking back and forth Appearance - Large cavemen with big clubs Notes - These guys can be dangerous. Attack them from a distance with lightning. Watch out for their club. If it hits you, you die. Fortunately, you don't see these guys too frequently. They usually guard treasure chests. 4.
