Closing Statement Part 1: Introduction Hiya all! This is my first attempt at a FAQ, so bear with me if it sucks.... Now this FAQ could be more in depth, featuring things like the storyline, and dialouge from the game, but since the copy I own is a japanese rom, your SOL if youre lookin for that sort of stuff....Sorry. I will try to add to this FAQ as much as possible, and make it the best FAQ out there for all you samurai pizza cats lovers! Now, to the rest of my FAQ. I hope you enjoy it! Part 2: Disclaimer This FAQ is copyrighted by HunterOfn00bs(Brett Light) On September 15th, 2001. This FAQ may not be used on any websites besides GameFAQs.com without my permission. All violators of the before statement are punishable by law, and will be. Please I don't mean to sound like a jerk, but ask me before you use this. Also, all characters, info and other things about this game are copyrighted by RPGE INC., 1988. Part 3: FAQ Here I will answer some frequently asked questions about this game, if I should add more stuff to it, just tell me, and I'll add them when I have time. Thanks! Q: What do all the bars on the screen mean? A: The hearts are your health, the little meter with the solid red bar is your ninpo meter, and the big bar with lots of little lines is your helper meter. Q: Ninpo? WTF? A: Ninpo is the special attacks powers of each of the cats. Every character has three different ninpo attacks, and they can be used by pressing UP+A. They can only be used though until the ninpo meter runs out. Q: AHHHHHHH! My ninpo is gone and I'm almost to a boss! What do I do?!?!? A: Don't panic, you can find ninpo refill items laying around in some levels, and you can sometimes get them by killing these freaky white and green flying thingies that drop items. You can also find health and helper refill items in the same ways. Q: Why can I only use one of my three ninpo attacks? A: Because you have not fond the ninpo powerups yet. There funny little items with a japanese mark on them, you can't miss them. When you pick one up, it will upgrade your ninpo power to the next attack. Sorry, but you can only use one of the three attacks at one time. Q: What are helpers, and what do they do? A: There supporting characters in the game with special abilities that, well, HELP. You can access them by pressing start at any time and selecting one. They can punch through rocks, swim super fast, drill through things, and even fly! They also have there very own separate ninpo attacks, but there only able to be used until the helper meter runs out, which it can also be refilled by finding helper refill items, which I have already explained how to find them. Q: Which character is really the best? A: Well, that's all a matter of opinion. Even though you can have a favorite cat if you want, all the cats are useful in different situations, and it's up to you to choose which one does which thing at what time. Well, that's all the questions I could think up at the moment. Remember to tell me if you think of any more for me to add! Now onto the next section.... Part 4: Secrets/Hints/Tips/Assorted Things Ok, here I will try to post you some tips and secrets to help you beat this game easily. These aren't codes, and I don't know of any Game Genie codes, so please don't ask me about them. Sorry. If you think of any other tips, remember to tell me!!! Well then, here we go! Secrets: 1.There are many secret areas in this game. Go find them, they carry some extremely good items in them! 2. If you use your most powerful ninpo attacks on a boss, it doesn't matter where you stand, it will always hit them, even if it doesn't look like it. Hints: 1.Remember those secret areas I talked about? Well, almost every secret area is only accessible by using your helper abilities, so remember to keep your helper meter filled at all times! Tips: 1.Only one tip for this section, but it's a good one. All items on screen will regenerate if you go off the screen the item was on, and then go back onto it. It also means those freaky looking item dropping bird thingies will regenerate as well. That's all for this section of the FAQ! I hope it was useful, but onto the next section! Section 5: Walkthrough Here's the part we have all been waiting for, the walkthrough!!! This is where I will tell you all the best things to do to beat each stage, and become a Samurai Pizza Cats Champion! I'll tell you the best characters to use, the best ninpo attacks, and I'll rate the difficulty of each level on a scale of 1-5, one being easiest, 2 being easy, 3 being medium, 4 being hard, and 5 being insane. Now the recommended character part is hard, because I don't know there names.....*Anime Style Sweatdrops* So I'm going by looks...I think I can find there names, and if I do, I'll add them.... Bout 1: The aliens attack Difficulty: 1 (Easiest) Recommended Character: White Pizza Cat Ok then, this level is easy, with a capital E. It's like the first level in most video games, built to teach you the basics of the game. Use the white pizza cat, because he is the basic character for the game, while the other two regular cats are more complicated to use, fight through til the end, and watch out for the exploding enemies. Make sure to power up your ninpo all the way, and near the end of the level, you will be in a section with a heart item in it, and there's a rock blocking your progress. Just change to the pizza cat helper the wearing red and blue, and looks kinda chunky (He's really big) And then have him punch the rocks out of the way. Now to make him do this, you must stand right next to the rock, then hit the arrow button the facing towards the rock and the punch button at the same time. After that change back to the white cat, and proceed to the end, making sure ninpo is fully charged with the meter filled up. Boss: See boss FAQ, Section 8 Bout 2: *Doesn't know levels name*....*Sweatdrops* Difficulty: 2 (Easy) Recommended Character: Blue Pizza Cat This is an easy level to, but then again, all the levels in this game have a relatively small difficulty level. Make your way to the end, and make sure your ninpo meters are filled up, and fully charged. About a little through the level, you will see some water. Change into the water helper cat, and swim down into this secret area. It's better to go this way, you can pick up a full healing item, and skip over the hardest parts of the normal level. Make sure your fully charged for this boss battle, it's difficult if you're a new player... Boss: Once again, check Boss FAQ, Section 8 Bout 3: It looks like a spaceship of some kind or something...... Difficulty: 3 (Medium) Recommended Character: White Pizza Cat This is a good level to test your skills and reflexes you have learned so far. Watch out for spikes though, they kill...literally. Towards the end, make sure your fully charged, because this next boss is harder than anything else you've faced so far. To get to the end of the level, you have to use the flying helper, so make sure the helper meter is completely filled up, or you won't make it, even though falling off a cliff doesn't kill you. Remember to watch out for the boss, he's pretty hard. Boss: BOSS FAQ!!!! Quit looking here.... Bout 4: It looks like a garden of some kind..... Difficulty: 4(Hard) Recommended Character: Pink Pizza Cat This level is quite a shock for those of you who found this game easy up to this point...Make sure you get fully charged on your ninpo very quickly, because the pink cat's strongest ninpo is really powerful. There's a few sections that you need the rock punching cat for, but don't use up your helpers to much. Watch out for the spinning tornado looking enemies, they hurt a lot, and take three hits to beat, so don't get ambushed by more than one of them, it means trouble. Boss: STOP LOOKING HERE!!!!! Go to Boss FAQ..... Bout 5: Funny Rat Guy's Lair Difficulty: 5! (Insane) Recommended Character: Pink Pizza Cat If the last level was easy for you, welcome to reality punk. This level truly deserves to be called insane, so this is the last bout I'm going to write in this FAQ for a while, I need time to recover....Get fully charged really quick, and at the part where you have to drill, then punch through a rock, make sure to only drill a little bit, and save a few blocks standing there, so the rock punching guy has somewhere to stand while punching the rock. Try as hard as you can to keep from getting ambushed by the green bug enemies and by the jumping enemies and other things, and make sure to stay at full health, at all times. You'll see why when you get to the boss, he was the only boss in the whole game that managed to actually kill me, so be careful. Boss: I swear to god, quit reading this or I'll hurt you! Bout 6: Haunted looking woods thing Difficulty: 4 (Hard) Recommended Character: Pink Pizza Cat What's new to talk about? Get fully charged quickly, as you will be ambushed often in this level, and I mean VERY often, like 5 or 6 enemies at one time coming at you from two different directions about every other screen. Keep your health as full as possible, and make sure to keep your helpers ready if you need some assistance. This level can be difficult, but it's nothing compared to bout 5, and I mean nothing... Boss: I said I would hurt you! *Hits with a ball bat* Bout 7: Final Bout Difficulty: 4 (Hard) Recommended Character: Blue Pizza Cat, or Pink Ok, this game is just screwy. The fifth bout is much more difficult than the final bout is, and the final boss is absolutely nothing compared to the 5th one. Make sure to become fully charged ASAP!!! Keep your health filled up as much as you can, and try to make sure your helpers don't run out or get busted up, it will make this level much easier. Watch out for the final boss, he's not nearly as hard as the 5th boss, but he's just plain EVIL...... Boss: *Continues beating reader with bat* There we go! You have managed to beat Samurai Pizza Cats! Congratulations!!!! I have found that this game doesn't have much replay value at all, even though you can play it again if you like! Remember my tips and help, and live long and prosper!!! I hope my FAQ was helpful, thanks for reading! But now, to the next section.... Part 6: Mini Review Well, here I shall write a mini, or unofficial review for Samurai Pizza Cats! I know some of our opinions will be different about this game, but I think my opinion is what matters at the moment, because you know, this is MY FAQ....Well here we go! Gameplay: 9/10 This game has some of the most original gameplay ideas that the action genre has ever seen, and it was one of the first games to introduce team based gameplay, and it did a really good job of it. But there are a few glitches that could be worked out. Story: 7/10 I really think that this game does have a really spiffy story, but really I'm just guessing on this one, because my copy of the game is a japanese rom, so I can't read most of the text, which kinda sucks. But the way the bosses and levels are leads me to believe that this game has a very diverse storyline, full of a few twists and turns. If I could actually READ the text, this would have got a higher rating. Control: 8/10 This game does a really good job of this, with really tight control. The attacks are all easy to execute, and jumping and moving and turning aren't hard to do. There's only one thing keeping this score from being perfect, and that's that sometimes your character will dash unexpectedly, and uncontrollably, and sometimes making you run off of edges and stuff without being able to stop your character before it's to late. Graphics: 8/10 The graphics are real basic for a late 1980's NES game, but they get the job done just fine. The levels, characters, and enemies are all very nice looking, with lots of attention to detail, and all the attacks are very well animated. The only bad point on graphics is that they can get kind of grainy and choppy at times. This game does have awseome cinema scenes at the end of each level, which further enhance the game. Sound: 10/10!!! This game has some seriously groovin anime tunes, and the sound effects are great. They do a good job of enhancing the gameplay, while not becoming annoying or distracting to the gamer, which is all anybody wants in game music. Difficulty: 6/10 The only weak point this game has is it's difficulty. Most levels are really easy, and all the levels are easy if you know what your doing, but this game is hard to get good at, because of the extremely steep learning curve. I say this because lets say your fighting through bout 3, where the enemies are stupid, you aren't ambushed, and the boss is to easy. But then you go to bout 4, and there only one item laying around, you have to balance your helpers, your ambushed by 5 to 6 enemies at a time, and the boss will kill unexperienced players once or twice before they finally beat him. So the difficulty is the only real faulty point of this game. Replay Value: 7/10 Another slightly weak point in this game is that there is no real replay value. There's not any secret levels or characters to unlock, and the storyline doesn't change at all the second time around, plus during your second time playing there's no fun in it because you don't have to figure things out like you did the first time around, and that really takes something out of the game. Style: 9/10 This game is very innovative, with it's team based gameplay, exciting action, and groovin tunes. It also had cinemas, which were rare for games back then. The music and level design, not to mention the characters and enemies, all do a good job of enhancing the game, and adding to the atmosphere of the situation represented in the storyline. This is a very stylish game, and I like it for that. Overall: 9/10 This is an interesting game, and even though it can be a little tough on new gamers, it's worth taking a look at, especially if you can find an english cartridge or rom. If you were ever a fan of the SPC, I suggest you go out and buy this game immediately, if you don't already own it. All fans, and even casual gamers, will not be dissapointed. Trust me. That's all for the review! I think I may post it seperately on GameFAQs sometime soon, so stay tuned! Now to the next section.... Part 7: Special Thanks! Hey, if you help me with this FAQ, or with anything, I will thank you here! If I post your name here, you really deserve some kind of thank you, because you helped me a lot. I would like to thank god for letting me live through the first 13 years of my life in relative peacefulness, and for giving me my FAQ writing abilities! I would also like to ask him to bless the lives of all of the innocent people who were injured or killed in the world trade center and pentagon bombings, and to make americas retaliation swift and accurate. I would like to thank my family for letting me use the PC as much as I do without much complaint, and for not picking on me much because I like to use the PC. I would like to thank CjayC for creating GameFAQs. com, because until I found GameFAQs I thought there was no place on earth where I could discuss games with other gamers, other people like me, which is a releif to me. I would like to thank all my friends for everything they have other done for me, and all the help they will hopefully have to give to my stupid self in the future. I would like to thank RPGE INC. For making this video game, you guys did a great job! I would like to thank whoever wrote the Samurai Pizza Cats anime, I'm sorry I don't know your name, but thanks for making this great thing known as SPC! And finally, last but not least, I would like to thank my idols and greatest inspirations, Nobou Umeatesu and Akira Torimiyra. Nobou, keep up your good music writing work, I wanna see some good tunes in FFX! And Akira, thank you for creating DBZ and other animes, and being an inspiration to all anime lovers everywhere!!! That's all for my special thanks section! If I missed you, and you deserve to be in there, please tell me! Now to the next section.... Part 8: Character Guide/Boss FAQ Well, this is self explanatory! I'll describe the different characters, and then do the boss FAQ!!!! Characters: White Pizza Cat: Looks: 7/10 Attacks: 8/10 Ninpo: 8/10 Speed: 7/10 Overall: 8/10 What can I say? He's the average character in this game. He has good speed, attacks, and specials, but nothing to astounding. He's a good character to use while getting used to the game. Blue Pizza Cat: Looks: 9/10 Attacks: 8/10 Ninpo: 9/10 Speed: 10/10 Overall: 9/10 He's the real speed demon character in this game, but his attacks aren't to strong. He has great specials, but you need to know how to use them effectively for them to be useful. Pink Pizza Cat: Looks:9/10 Attacks:9/10 Ninpo:10/10 Speed:9/10 Overall: 10/10 She's the very best character in the game. She's not quite as fast as the blue cat, but she has the best attacks and the games most devastating ninpo attacks. Now to the boss FAQ! Boss one: Penguin Alien thingy Difficulty:1 At the beginning of the fight, just use your strongest ninpo attack twice, then jump up and hit him in the chest a couple of times, and he's done. Boss Two: FLYING FISH THING!!! AHHHHHHH! Difficulty:2 Well, use your best ninpo attacks twice at the beginning, and then hit it when it comes into range to knock it away from you. It's an easy battle. Boss Three: FLYING PIG!!!!!!! AHHHHHHHH! Difficulty:2 Ok, just remember that you should always use your strongest ninpo attack twice at the start of EVERY boss battle, because I'll have to type a lot less. Remember to dispose of the little pigs quickly, as there a big annoyance. Boss Four: Funny Hopping Old Guy Difficulty: 4 I hope you remember what I said, because I'm not saying it again. Hit him whenever he comes down towards the ground, and stay out of the way of the falling things. Boss Five: Old Rat Guy Difficulty: Off the charts Lots and lots of ninpo in this battle. Try to dodge all of his projectile attacks, and remember that you can only hurt him by hitting him in the head. Boss Six: I dunno what this thing is..... Difficulty: 4 He isn't to hard. Just use your ninpo, and then dodge attacks and hit him a couple of times after dodging. He'll go down soon enough. Boss Seven: Final Boss Difficulty: 4 Use your ninpo, and stay healed. Make sure to dodge as many attacks as possible, and hit him whenever you can. It can become difficult if you have low health. That's all for the Character Guide/Boss FAQ! On to the next section...
