Introduction **itdn** This game was made in Japan and has never seen the shores of the old U. S. of A. This game is very similar to Advance Wars, and personally I'd go as far as call it a prequel. Controls **ctrl** Control Pad- Up is up. Down is down. Left is left. Right is right. A - Selects options in the menu. B - Brings up the in game menu, and selects certain menu choices, also cancels if you're moving a unit as long as the unit hasn't ended their turn. Select - Changes selection in certain menus, and brings cursor back to HQ. Start - Starts game and confirms in certain menus, has no function in-game. General Ideas & Tips **gi&t** - Swarm! Swarm! Swarm! When you have the funds to really tear things up, do it. Especially if you can make a few of the big guns in one fell swoop. If you can keep the boarder well secured with out loosing ground victory maybe within your grasp. - Liberation purposes *Health* 1 20 times to liberate said building 2 10 times to liberate said building 3 7 times to liberate said building 4 5 times to liberate said building 5 4 times to liberate said building 6 4 times to liberate said building 7 3 times to liberate said building 8 3 times to liberate said building 9 3 times to liberate said building 10 2 times to liberate said building - Never send in an infantry to do a tanks work, if it was you on the field, would you want to go against a tank? I think not. - Defense is your friend learn this chart, it goes from best to worse in defense. No leader won a war with out a good eye for defense. Mountains Cities Woods Plains and Beaches Road & Ocean - Orange star ALWAYS goes first, use this knowledge from a tactical standpoint. Yea its nice to go first, but what do you really know about what your opponent is going to do? You got to wait, while if you were to go second you have that tactical advantage. - Use units against them selves on down. Special cases do apply. For example, do you want to use a Transport unit on a Tank B? I think not.. But you would want to use the Tank B on the Transport unit, or even a Tank B on another Tank B. Any higher (Tank A) will more than likely be suicide. Can you use a Fighter Plane against another Fighter Plane? No. Units **aunt** Man - G 1000 R. Launcher - G 2000 Health 10 Health 10 Speed 3 Speed 2 Fuel 99 Fuel 70 Ammo 9 Ammo 3 These are the ants at the picnic, cheap to make too go with the men till your filthy rich to make the rocket launcher, they maybe slow, but common, they got rockets! If you want the extra fire power go with the Rocket Launcher, if not go with the faster unit to cover more ground. These units are only effective against them selves because they'd get slaughtered against anything else. These are the boys that will take down any building and make it on your side, the Rocket Launcher people however can not take down the enemy HQ. so keep that in mind while you employ your tactics. Tank A - G 16000 Tank B - G 6000 Health 10 Health 10 Speed 6 Speed 5 Fuel 70 Fuel 30 Ammo 6 Ammo 3 The bread and butter of my army is Tank A, boy o boy can they take a beating and keep on going. If you can't afford them, go for Tank B not nearly as much fun when you see an army of them coming through, but effective none the less. They are effective against many if not all of the ground units, not so well for the aerial & naval units. Transport - G 4200 Supply - G 3000 Health 10 Health 10 Speed 6 Speed 5 Fuel 70 Fuel 60 Ammo 4 Ammo 0 Well what can I say, these units make things easier for you. Transport units are there to transport 1, let me repeat that 1, infantry unit where ever, far faster than the infantry units them selves. Once an infantry unit boards the Transport, both the infantry unit and the transport units turn is over. When releasing the held unit, the transport units turn is over as well. Supply vehicles re-supply you units with fuel and ammo for your units. Though they can't hurt anyone. Transport are effective against infantry units, but other than that, I wouldn't put them up against much of anything, because they'd turn into shrapnel in no time. Trying to defeat an avian unit with the transport is like suicide, but can be done. Naval units are of course a no no. Missile A - G 13000 Missile B - G 5500 Health 10 Health 10 Speed 4 Speed 5 Fuel 50 Fuel 30 Ammo 5 Ammo 3 If your not a close quarters combat sort of person then these are the units for you. They have a diamond sort of attack range, below I place the Missile B's attack range, Missile A has a range that is twice this I do believe. They are effective against various ground units and even some naval units, as long as they are within range. They can not attack aerial units. I recommend a few to help keep the foe at bay. X X X X B X X X X Anti-Air Tank - G 5500 Land Rover - G 11000 Health 10 Health 10 Speed 5 Speed 4 Fuel 50 Fuel 50 Ammo 4 Ammo 5 If you couldn't tell these are the units to take down those nasty aerial units. With the land rover being the more efficient one, pretty good units to use. These particular units are effective only against AERIAL units, nothing else, do not deploy unless there are aerial units around. F.Plane - G 20000 Copter - G 4000 Health 10 Health 10 Speed 8 Speed 6 Fuel 99 Fuel 60 Ammo 5 Ammo 4 These two particular units are needed by far. The copter is a infantry carrier, the F.Plane or Fighter Plane is very useful against ground units and wiping the ground clean of them as well as naval units. Against other aerial units it would get ripped apart. The copter is more or less a soldier in the air. Booth can be shot up, by anti-aerial units. Plane A - G 22000 Plane B - G 15000 Health 10 Health 10 Speed 10 Speed 10 Fuel 99 Fuel 99 Ammo 5 Ammo 4 These aerial units are good. Plane A is what makes up the most of my aerial units. Though not much is different between the two units. All around good unit, only bad part about these particular units, is that they can get slaughtered by anti-aerial tanks. Ship - G 28800 Destroyer - G 18500 Health 10 Health 10 Speed 6 Speed 5 Fuel 99 Fuel 99 Ammo 6 Ammo 6 The only two naval units in the game. The Destroyer is also the carrier unit of the water world. It can hold two units at any one time and it expensive to make compared to the other ship. The Battleship is the iron fist in the water, it has good defense and can take on anything, but at a range. Walkthrough **wkth** Press Start to start the game, and then you have two options: Start Game or Game Options. Game Options: Orangestar Bluemoon >Player Player Computer >Computer Animate B.G.M. >On >Type A Off Type B Off Computer IQ 200 ALL SET >IQ 100 > - is the default option. Player/Computer defines who's what. If you want to be Bluemoon, switch the two. Animate is the animation in the game. B.G.M. is background music, I usually have the sound off when I play games, so I can listen to what I want. Computer IQ is the difficulty of game play. ALL SET is to end the options. Its highlighted blue when you first enter the screen, a.k.a your cursor. For this walkthrough I will be cover things from both standpoints. In some levels not everyone has the same advantage. In game menu consist of (from left to right): Make: Allows you to make 1 unit of your choice for a price, each unit will be displayed both in their corresponding sections and in the Unit section. Units Currently Out: Which units you have and their status. Status: Shows how much money both sides have and have spent, neutral buildings, enemy and your buildings. When you press down, you will get a screen that shows all units currently on the field, both yours and the enemy's. Funds: This option allows your buildings to heal/re-fuel/re-ammonize your units very use full, doesn't heal them completely however. End Turn: Pretty self explanatory. Misc.: Goes into 3 different menus, the first one goes to the game options only animation, b.g.m are adjustable now. The second one goes to the save file, here it asks you if you want to save or continue. When you save you have to hold the reset button while turning your system off. The third option is SURRENDER, but since we wont need that option we prolly wont come in this much except to save. You start off with 11000 gold. So go ahead and make some people, you can make the people at the G spots up on the map near the base and the one O spot in the right hand corner of the base, as well as the base it`s self. When you make a unit you can't move it that same turn. In order to move a unit simply place the cursor over whom ever and press the A button, the unit will begin to flash. Move that unit where ever you may wish. Don't like where you put that particular unit, hit B. After you have decided where you want that particular unit press A, then it will clarify you decision in which case you'd hit A again. No two units can occupy the same space, but they can become one unit combing their health so 6+1=7 but the down side is that if the second unit didn`t attack or move, then it wont be able to do so till next round.You also can not move through enemy units with any unit. When climbing over a mountain or going threw the woods or a stream it hinders the infantries speed reducing it by 2. If you have a transport unit and have someone on board it will have 2 options when your done moving first one is the release of a unit if you have on in it can not be released by forest or mountains, the second one is confirming the movement. When you have a infantry unit approach a neutral building or enemy, it takes time to liberate that particular building, namely how much heath that particular unit has. So we need a strategy to win. The first general uses a lot of Men and Carriers at first to try to get to the center. So we need to do the same, start out by making about 4 infantry units and a tank to back those boys up. Try to use a lot of money on everything that way you will have more units out to work with. You will get more cash come the next turn. Come the next turn we need to send a unit over the mountain, if you made an infantry unit appear on the building unit send him over the mountain, he will be pretty close to a building, send the tank following if your following me. Rinse and repeat, also when you get more money on the following turns, don't be afraid to spend more to make a more powerful army. If you have like 10 Tank B's and are making about 17000 per round, I think its time to seize production of that model and bring in the Tank A. Now I don't know what the CPU is going do so that's all I can help with. The thing we want to do though is try to get as many neutral buildings as possible. If you can get most of them then continue to press forward, don't be afraid to lose a few men in the process. Keep a steady wave of troops coming, tanks as well, you wanna try to push him back, if you go light on the weaponry then he will push you back, if a infantry unit gets low, have it fall back, its far better to have it fall back than to get the crap kicked outta it. Any buildings in your position will replenish ammo and fuel, combining your units is the only way to heal em, so keep that in mind while you have your fun. Try not to have an infantry unit attack an armored unit, in my opinion, its suicide. jus don't.. When your ready to attack someone you want to get your attacking unit next to that which you wish to attack, then it will be the first option, if your next to an enemy and are on a building, attack is the first option while liberating the building is the second option. Attacking a unit is pretty simplistic but the terrain can make or break things from the best defense terrain to the worst here it is.. If you keep the assault up and are doing good and are rolling in the dough, then you should be able to buy some new Tank As or a Missile As which ever you prefer, wither it's a strategy you came up with or my personal fave, swarming then bringing in the big guns, and keep pushing him back, then you can kick his arse and take victory. This strategy applies to both because they is no advances on either side. If your playing as the Bluemoon, deploy tons of infantry. When you get enough cash for either team send out the big guns. So on the first turn we want to make infantry units as well as transport units. The following turn load up the transport units and make some more infantry units at any remaining places. Which should bring us to our next turn, deploy the transport units as far as they can and liberate some neutral buildings. Do this till you have about 4-5 neutral buildings in your possession. Then you will probably have enough money to start making some good units. You can also release some big guns at any time, towards your enemy anyways to try to keep them under control. When defending try to split your forces up into two parts, have one head off for the north (if Bluemoon) or the south (if Orangestar), and also left (Bluemoon) or right (Orangestar). Keep producing units and splitting the group up, specially if your Bluemoon, you have got to get in and get as many neutral buildings and get some stronger units too, such as Tanks or even Missile launchers. If at any point one side is getting weaker than the other, focus your troops on that point. At about turn 8 I had 21 infantry units 3 Tank A's and 2 Transporters with the Orangestar and slowly go defeating the enemy. Just keep things up and you should be able to defeat the CPU. Both sides are equal so no need for special tactics. You start with 8k instead of the usual 11k. Both teams are on islands and have the same amount of neutral buildings. So the strategy for this level will be acquire all the buildings on your island, and some on the other if not all. So we begin this level by simply by making 3 infantry units at the deploy and the base and I also made a copter. For these are the transportation units in this game, and it will be vital to make a few. As well as anti-air craft vehicles. Your enemy will probably be making infantry by the dozens and copters. When the next round comes around go ahead and board you copter, and have someone begin to get a neutral building. I also recommend to make another copter and placing the last infantry unit on it, only to make 3 more infantry units. When the third turn comes around take the loaded copters and go as far as you can with your units, stay inland though don't go to the other island just yet. It would be suicide because of lack of defense. With two copters running around on your base you should be fine. Also start saving up for some anti-air crafter destroyers, they will be very useful. By the 4th turn you should have 2 more buildings under your control, next round we would have another 4 more under our control. I have about 9 infantry units 2 copters and an Anti-air tank. Continue to do this for a couple of more rounds till you have liberated all the neutral cities on your island. Save money to make new aerial units. Well by about the 5th or 6th round, I don't know what the enemy will be doing so all I can do is give advice. Anyway continue to get more troops, try to get a good aerial fleet going, that way you can move in and smash the foe to pieces. They wont hold back for long. So try to get a good ground defense in too as well as a good aerial, other wise might as well hand over the island to them. But in order to do this efficiently try to make a better aerial defense by either making stronger ships, or even anti-aerial tanks. Bring in few land defenses unless needed, 5-10 tanks should be enough to defend the island, they wont get there unless your aerial units fail you, I also suggest around 5-10 aerial units around your island alone, along with about 5 anti-aerial units. Then make even more aerial units to swoop in for the kill and slowly take over by sending over strong aerial units and demolish their units while having your own units try to liberate their buildings. To bring down your foe, your going to want a fleet of about 10-20 aerial units to attack, yea it maybe a bit of an over kill, but what if something goes wrong in you attack? Anyways when you decide to attack your foes island go for the tip of the island which is either north or south of the base. that's probably a good place to begin the assault. If the enemy has the island guarded well near your island (right down the diagonal) prop up a few Missile A's. This very well maybe the hardest level yet, and maybe my strategy just makes it so that the enemy can get stronger, maybe not. I don't know. If you want to try making a few infantry units and sending them over A.S.A.P. then you could try that. Another tactic could be to try to lure the enemy to the north or the south (away from the base) and try to have a sneak unit come in on the base. Drop off the infantry unit near their base or on it, and surround the base with aerial units, and hope that you last long enough to achieve victory. Also try placing aerial units on the deploy bases and destroying all possible foes, bringing in new units to merge the old and the new. Just keep at it though and you bring this dog fight to an end. Its going to be very vital that we get to the neutral places in the center of the level for either or, that way we can have a place to restore our units.. You start out with 99999 gold, so go hog wild (believe me, it will go fast.)s. To start this level out, begin by making 2 Destroyers, expensive, I know, or 2 choppers, preferably the helicopters. After the construction of the two ships make 2 transports, 2 men, and 2 things to try to back up your men, your choice. Next turn your going to want to have the infantry units board the transports or the choppers. If you made a tanks to use or something else, go ahead and board those too if you plan on taking the tanks over seas. Make some more infantry units as well as aerial units if you want. By the third round the destroyers should be completely loaded and ready to shove off in the next round of play, if you went that route.. By now you should have some more infantry units to try to get as many of the neutral buildings on the island your on. You should also start considering making a defense for the island, be it naval or aerial or both. By the fifth round the enemy will make a move for the islands, its important to get there or destroy all that oppose you. Continue to try to get all the islands between the two main ones. Once things are established on the islands, your going to want an armada. Both aerial and naval units. Begin by attacking the enemies island at its closest possible point to your own. That is probably the weakest in defense against your foes. Once you have done so continue with an on slaught of aerial units and ground units, continue to bring in more Tank A's from the sea. All you need to do is keep pushing and don't give in and victory will be yours. Between level 1 and this level there is no real differences except now your attacking in more of an upside down U than a horizontal line and instead of 11k you have 4k.. Bluemoon can't snuff out Orangestar, at least not out right.. Orangestar starts out with 19000 while Bluemoon starts out with 24000. So the strategy here is simple occupy the center island, stuff on your own island really isn't that important, I mean sure you will have to attack the usually jet or something but nothing big. Be sure to make a home security just in case though. So begin by sending some units over to the island A.S.A.P. Helicopter, ship what ever, jus do it. That should probably take a few turns. Also by about the third turn your enemy will begin to send people to the island, so you have got to hurry and get troops over. Once you get your groove on, then you should be able to purchase more than one destroyer, do so. Even a couple of Battle ships will work. Get some heavy artillery on that island to dominate it, before its to late. When you do take over most of the island, if not all, the enemy will still shoot you from the coast-line of the base. Take them out with either the navy or the aerial units. Swarm them, you should be rolling in the dough. Keep up the onslaught and you will have victory in you hands! But Bluemoon has a big cash flow going in their way. We need to put an end to that, so send infantry units in to liberate the towns on the outskirts of the mountainous wall. Your going to want to send in some tanks to block off the two passages that could send in more tanks to the outskirts. While if your Bluemoon, go ahead and make some units and send them in to snuff out Orangestar, but don't dawdle to much or it could be your downfall with 24000, trying to clear out Orangestar shouldn`t be a problem. Orangestar should make some infantry units you start out with only 4000 gold in the first round. Come the second round you should send out you infantry to the Bluemoon buildings to the east and south. Make four more infantry on the next round and send half of that squad south and the rest east. Then don't make anything. If you feel you should make more infantry, do so but try to save up for bigger and better things. About round four the enemy beings to send in the heavy artillery like transport units and such. They will be coming at you with full force. In the fourth round of this fight your going to want to continue to try to take as many of the buildings as possible. By now you should have some money to get some more firepower such as Tank B's and Rocket Launchers. Take out any infantry units that come by the mountains and continue to the take over if you have units that are dawdling. Continue to make Tank B's because they are cheap but efficient. By about the sixth round go ahead and make some transport units and some Tank B's after you do as much damage as possible. Use the transports as weapons and not transports. Continue to do this. Incase you haven't realized it yet the goal as of right now is to secure the outskirts by all possible means. Once we have it secured and got some money to use, then and only then will we be able to changes the tides of war. Meanwhile your going to want other things such as a copter or two, along with a destroyer to get the ball rolling. Continue to make infantry units and other transporter units to get things going. Once you have some choppers take the infantry to nearby islands and liberate the islands. Right around turn 5 you should start saving up for destroyers so that you can make a defense for the not so main islands. By about your eighth turn you should have your island completely under your control. Also you might some units going to other places to liberate the towns. Send more infantry units to other places in copters. Use destroyers to deploy various ground assault vehicles. The enemy hasn't even began to use the choppers to gain new ground. So its probably an excellent time to spread your self, but don't spread your self to thin. I recommend to make some battle ships if you can afford them, send them over, and attack on sight, there is one neutral port on the east side of the island, liberate that, and dock a battle ship there. Defend it with either Fighter Planes or Tank A's. By about the eighth turn they will begin to send units over seas. If you don't have a defense against anything yet. well you might want to hurry. When the enemy heads north or south they will do it loosely, meaning they wont be heavily guarded. In fact you can pick them off with a few Tank A's. The enemy base is loosely guarded as well sending over a few Fighter planes as well as some infantry will do the work, but if you wait to long that window will close. Once you have your island secured go to the west (or south if your Orangestar) and secure that island. Send wave after wave to secure it, but don't loosen your defenses at the home front. Make sure you have a good defense not only near the base but also north (if your Bluemoon) and south (if your Orangestar). To make the final stand against the enemy begin by attacking the north (if your Orangestar) or the south (if your Bluemoon). Send wave after wave. You can also deploy a wave of troops from the east side (if your Bluemoon) that way you can try to throw things off that way too. While if your Orangestar, you don't have such a tactic. But you can still use some battle ships. Sending in a fleet of them and making sure they are within range to strike would be a good option. Keep up the assault and you will bring down the enemy, yet again. Both teams start out at 8k apiece. The strategy presented here is for both sides of the equation, so listen up. First round we are going to want to make some infantry units as well as a transporter. The following round its time to use a little money on aerial units like a copter for instance. because in this terrain (and any terrain) its easier to go with. Orange star are going to want to deploy infantry units to the west, and transport units w/infantry to the south. Bluemoon are going to want to send infantry along with transport units w/infantry to the north and copter units and such to the east. Continue to do this for a little while. When your not using a transport unit, send it back to base, and get new infantry. By about turn five make some hard core artillery, such as Tank B's. The following round you should start making anti-aerial units, while still expanding your units. Around the seventh round you can make an upgrade, from Anti-air Tank, to Land Rover. Also at about the ninth round then you can start making other upgrades. The more important stuff is about to begin. Using other tactics you've learned from various other levels we need to level the enemy. Making a good strong defense and also a good strong offense. Head out ward from your base slowly with as much firepower you can muster, and allow it to grow, what I mean is go slow, go three spaces each time. Allow new units to join your ranks at full speed to catch up with the advancing team. But alternate, say you brought in a Tank A last turn, bring in a anti-aerial unit the next turn, or even a Plane A. Don't forget the usual infantry unit for liberation purposes. Continue the assault and victory will be as good as yours. The land does not connect in any way to the enemies, so get on the band wagon and get some towns liberated so that you can begin to make a fleet of aerial units. Orangestar has a tad disadvantage in this one, Bluemoon can deploy one more unit than Orangestar. The tactic will apply to both forces so with that lets begin. With 6k we begin by making infantry units to liberate nearby towns or if you prefer make an infantry unit and a transport, your call. If you decided to go with making all infantry units go ahead and start sending your forces to do what it is they were made for. If you decided to make the two units, have the infantry unit board the transport. Mean while go ahead and make some more infantry units along with as many transports you can make. Do this as much as you can till about the sixth round, by then you should have enough cash flow to start up a fleet of air crafts. Now don't forget to make a bit of a defense for your land that you have covered. Whether its heavy duty ground assault or anti-aerial units. Throw in a few bits of a defense and direct them where you see fit. You should have a good defense, if you play more defensively than offensively than you don't need me to preach to you to make a good defense, because as the saying goes, a good defense is a good offense. Continue to build your forces aerial or ground. Move in toward the enemy, continuously pressing forward. If units get weak combine them, do what ever is necessary to continue moving forward. Eventually the enemy will be at an ends meat and all you have to do is give it the last few blows to win. First off we start out with 6000 gold. We can make this quick or slow, its up to you. First off make a copter and a two infantry units. Move then chopper out of the way and make another. Continue this procedure all the while making the loose infantry units liberate more buildings. That way you can send in more aerial units. By about the fourth or the fifth round send the aerial units on over to the other side of the mountain and try to take over the base. It may take few tries but keep at it you will get it. If you must send wave after wave of aerial units to eliminate the foe. If you want the long way apply tactics from the various other levels by making a well thought of defense as well as well armed artillery units. Then when all is said and done swing around the mountains and defeat the enemy. With 14000 in cash funds for Orangestar and ??? for Bluemoon. The only difference is that Orangestar starts with an extra naval base, and Bluemoon starts with an extra building and an extra deploy building. Other than that tactics will be the same. First round, the thing your going to want to do is deploy some infantry units. Then send the infantry units to liberate the buildings on your island. The following round do the same thing make some more units. Come the third round if you have the funds then make a destroyer. The following round you should get two transporters and put troops on them. Continue to build a defense on the main land. If your Orangestar, go ahead and make a destroyer or two and load it up with the transport vehicles. While if your Bluemoon go ahead and make one. Keep the defense coming. Once you have the two islands secured then the money should be rolling in. Go ahead and build a fleet of aerial units Plane A's, Fighter Planes, and Copters loaded with Infantry. Keep the Copters behind till you have done some damage to land the troops, continue to push the enemy away and liberate the buildings. Keep the assault up and this one will be another tally on the wall. Bluemoon and Orangestar are almost exactly alike in structure in the level except the Bluemoon naval base is on the south end and not the north. We have dealt with this sort of scenario before except this time we have aerial and naval combat as well. Tactics will before both teams. Round one through five will consist of expanding our territory and making a better defense. Do that by any means, but it will more than likely consist of using infantry to liberate the neutral buildings. Don't be afraid of using naval units and placing some Tank A's on them. If you attack the enemy from two or even three sides then it will weaken the foe considerably. They wont be able to focus their attacks and will strike any thing that moves. But if you go with that tactic be sure to load up your destroyers and have plenty of Battle ships. Don't let the enemy push you or, well you WILL loose. Don't loose your head and stay calm, continue the assault and don't give in, you will do just fine. Both teams have the same everything in this particular level so tactics will be the same for both. Rounds 1-5 will consist of making infantry units and deploying them by any means, to of course liberate neutral buildings (transporters or choppers). Make a defense against aerial units. Though each base can be reached by ground troops, both bases can easily be reached by aerial units. When the money starts coming in more, go ahead and start making an air fleet. Send in some ground assault vehicles and destory any anti-aerial units. That way you can send the aerial fleet with out any problems. Like in a previous level bring in various aerial units from copters with infantry to Fighter Planes. Keep the choppers behind and send everything else forward. Go slow and add new units to keep the assault up. Bluemoon has more buildings that Orangestar, but Orangestar has an extra air port than Bluemoon. Orange star starts out with eight grand while Bluemoon starts out with fifteen grand. Yet this is another push and shove level. Pushing the enemy back as far as you can will make it easy. Round 1-5 is the making of an infantry. During the infantry producing process make some transports as well. This will help, send over a plane or two to slow down the enemy. When you feel you have achieved much, then go ahead and start making the assault team. By now you should know a thing or two bout combat and might even have a preference on how you do things. This level is no exception to the slow making of an armada tactic that I've talked about in previous levels. Make a few ground assault vehicles and have other units quickly catch up, don't forget to leave behind some sort of back up defense but slowly march your way in and obliterate your foe for the final time.
