What's New -= -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Version 1.0 (2/17/11): The first version. ***************************************************************************** -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= -= 2. Introduction -= -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Crime Busters is a shooting game which utilizes the Zapper/Laser Gun accessory. Of course it is an unlicensed game, but it really is not that bad of a game in all honesty. The only drawback is that there are only three stages with a set number of enemies to defeat in each. As you progress, the enemies move more quickly and hold hostages which will count against you if you hit them. There is a life meter, so you can only take a certain number of hits before you lose the game entirely. This means you must be quick to aim and shoot before the enemy beats you. Nonetheless, I think it's a worthwhile game to check out, despite being on the short side. ***************************************************************************** -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= -= 3. Controls -= -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Light Gun/Zapper: Start game, select stage, shoot at targets ***************************************************************************** -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= -= 4. Overview -= -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= ======== Gameplay ======== General Gameplay ---------------- In Crime Busters, there are only three stages. At the start of the game, you can select the stage you wish to play before proceeding. In each stage, you play in the first-person perspective using the NES Zapper (or Laser Gun in the game's manual) to aim/shoot at enemy targets that pop up on the screen. At the bottom of your screen is a "LIFE" meter with five hearts initially. If you get hit by enemy fire three times, you lose one of these lives. Lose all of your lives and the game is over. Your lives refill at the start of each stage, however. In each stage, there is a set number of enemies you must kill in order to complete the stage. That number is below the "ENEMY" header at the bottom of the screen. There is also a "SCORE" tally since you get points for each enemy you kill. You appear to get 390 points for each enemy killed successfully. It may take several shots to kill the enemies, so aim carefully and shoot often! Stages ------ Stage 1 (Bank Siege) Enemies: 20 Description: You are situated across the street from a bank, where the enemies appear in the main doorway and at the various windows to shoot at you. The enemies inside the building will walk around, making it tough to get clear shots on them unless they are right in front of the window. There are enemies that appear standing outside of the main entrance as well. The enemies move slowly, so you should have no issue picking them off here. Stage 2 (Ninjas) Enemies: 25 Description: Here, you are inside of a warehouse infested by ninjas who have taken hostages! The ninjas are quick on their feet, running across the room or appearing from behind boxes while holding a hostage (do not shoot them or you will kill the hostage, which depletes your health). Sometimes, the ninjas will appear up close along the top of the screen, giving you a bigger target to kill easily. Fortunately it is easy to follow the ninja's movement as they move straight across the screen. Stage 3 (Inside the Bank) Enemies: 30 Description: The final stage can actually be quite tough, especially since it spans two full screens. Many of the enemies are holding hostages now, which limit your available targets, especially on the right half of the area where enemies hide behind counters and bushes. The enemies that do appear out in the open move VERY quickly, so you may have a hard time keeping up. The key here is to pay attention and act quickly in order to nab these enemies to complete the stage. ***************************************************************************** -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= -= 5.
