INTRODUCTION G0100 =============================================================================== Welcome to The Penguin & Seal for the NES, a puzzle game by Sachen released in 1989. It is often called "Artic Adventure" as it says so on some carts. In Australia it was released as 'Arctic Adventure: The Penguin & Seal' and also included in the Mindblower Pak compilation. BASICS G0200 =============================================================================== Choose between 1-Player, 2-Player or Construction at the main menu, by cycling through them with SELECT. Use A and B to jump 5 stages which you can see at the top right corner. 1-Player: ````````` The aim is to bring home all gems to your igloo. At the same time you need to avoid the seals and watch the time limit. Press A to slide tiles. Blue tiles will disappear when they hit another blue tile, a green tile or a wall. You can, however, shift them on water without losing them. Green tiles do not disappear and can only be moved when there is no other green tile or gem is beyond them. They will make blue tiles disappear. You cannot move gems over other tiles but they do kill seals. Set the gems down near the igloo and push them in. After all gems are in your igloo you win the stage. Use the B button to carry a gem. Walking into it while carrying lets you position. Press B again to set down the gem, at best near the igloo where you can push it in afterwards. The time bar (<-Force) is another thing to remember. Watch it closely as you cannot take forever to finish a stage. The more time you have left at the end of a stage the more bonus points you get. The time resets when you die, but of course you have one life less. You lose a life if you get touched by a seal. You can defeat them by sliding a tile into them, but they will shortly respawn at a starting point. The seals can also move tiles, so be careful. However, they cannot move green tiles or gems so use them as blocks if necessary. 2-Player: ````````` Similar gameplay than the single player experience, only you take turns when one player has died and compete for a high score. Construction: ````````````` You can make your own levels. Use the D-Pad to move around. Press A to set down the current tile. Press B to erase the current tile. SELECT cycles through the blue, green and diamond shapes. START ends the construction. When you are done, this will be the new Stage-01 until you reset the game.
