Is this all? ===================== 1.Legal Stuff *sighs* ===================== This FAQ is copyright (c) 2003 Marco Ivan Islas Cervantes. You may not reprint it, sell it or give it away; nor can you post it on your site (even partially) without my written permission. You can e-mail me if you do wish to post it on your site. Also, you may not incorporate any of the combos listed here to your FAQ, unless you're willing to give credit. All characters are (c) Nintendo. ================= 2.Version History ================= Version 1.5 (June 30, 2004) Replaced Fox V.S. Mario combo. Replaced "Pros and Cons" with helpful notes regarding the character's combo strategy. Added Jiggly's best combo; the old one is now Jiggly V.S. Pika #2. Added Luigi V.S. Yoshi #2. Added Link V.S. Falcon/D.K./Yoshi/Link #2 and #3 (in fact, I had already updated the FAQ by adding these link combos but I forgot to write "version 1.2" to it). Minor corrections in Captain Falcon's section. Replaced "Up + A's" with "U + A"..... LOL..... Version 1.0 (October 21, 2003) Added another (more useful) Luigi V.S. Samus Killer combo. Added a D.K. V.S. All combo. Made a correction: There's not a Yoshi V.S. Kirby combo. It was a Yoshi V.S. Samus one. Version 0.9b (October 18, 2003) Added Yoshi V.S. Ness, Kirby, Mario & Luigi combo. Added another Yoshi V.S. C. Falcon, Link & D.K. anywhere killer combo. Version 0.9 (October 7, 2003) Corrected some mistakes regarding airborn moves. Made a major correction on Mario V.S. Kirby combo. Corrected some grammar errors (lol). Version 0.8 (September 14, 2003) Just finished arranging the whole info. *goes submit it* Version 0.4 (June 7, 2003) Began to create and incorporate C. Falcon's, Fox's, Ness' and Link's combos to the FAQ. =============== 3.Author's Note =============== This is just a combo FAQ. It does not include any strategy to fight certain characters, nor does it contain thorough character combo tactics. However, most of the combos that I created are meant to be tried out by average players at least. Keep that in mind. I'm looking forward to make the FAQ even larger. If you feel like contributing,I'd appreciate any good stuff you can send me. I'll give credit, of course. If you're having trouble pulling off a combo, you can always e-mail me, or, alternatively, go to GameFAQs SSB message board and ask me there. None of these combos are fake, or impossible to do. Neither did I made them up. All have been tested several times by and against above average players and they do work. You just have to practice a little bit. Enjoy! ================= 4.Through the FAQ ================= - NOTATIONS U Up Fwd Forward Back Back D Down A A button B B button R R button - This will be ocassionally used when you have to press two directions (e.g. Diagonal U&Fwd becomes U-Fwd) , The move after the comma must be done after the move that is before it has been executed. + Press direction and button at the same time Smash Smash move. Tap U/Fwd/Back/D + A button (air) Must be done while you're in the air. It also means it's an airborn move. [ ] Pay attention to these ones. They indicate important stuff, such as: [delayed Though I explain what this is about almost everytime you hit] encounter it, I guess you should know: It means you must hit the opponent either when the animation of the move is about to finish (e.g. Kirby's A *air*), which is done by pulling off the move as soon as you jump or timing it properly if the oppoennt is too far, or with the "edge" of it (e.g. Mario's U + A air kick, you should hit the opponent with his "toes"). You have to do this in order to weaken the hit thus avoid sending away the enemy too far. [Go- Mmhh, Kinda hard to explain. When you do a jump and then do an aerial U + A Through] move, you normally send the opponent upwards, and you end up being below him so you can mid air jump and hit him again. Well, when you see these [Go-Through], you should strike the opponent with the beginning of the move, when you're about to reach the opponent. If it is a jump from the ground, it usually works better if you use the stick. However, if a move after a jump requests that you "go through" the enemy after you've hit, you should do said move at the same time you press a C-button. Either way, you'll end up above the enemy, being able to execute a D move. [#%] This means you should deal the amount of damage that is shown here if you want the combo to work properly. -RATING SYSTEM This is a simple feature that will help you know how hard to pull off the combo you're reading is. From the easiest to the hardest: * mediocre apologize and go home ** decent an acceptable, still average combo. *** hey, not bad! above average combo, usually quite useful. **** what did you smoke? fancy one, you need some skill to do it. *****are you god? devastating and damaging. Not for rookies. ******apocalypse *destroys opponent self-esteem* Heh, I must confess i just did this ^^ for fun, since some people may find some of my combos harder than how difficult I say they are and viceversa. - A VERY IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT SAMUS - Before you start reading, you ought to know you won't find any Samus combo. While she's been given the shortest recovery time in the game, she doesn't have the tools to create decent combos. I had an enjoyable serious discussion with a member of the gamefaqs message board about this topic. While I respect and sometimes get scared by Samus' abilities, he finally had to accept (despite being a samus fan) that she just can't do good combos. Her unique true combo starter (spike) doesn't juggle opponents that have not received some damage first, and her options to continue a decent combo are very limited. Anyway, this is my personal opinion and I'm not a hardcore Samus player, so, If anyone can prove me wrong by sending some decent combos, I'll be glad to add them to the FAQ. Until then, Samus combos section will remain empty. -REMINDER Just a few things that you should memorize: * You must begin the combo when the enemy hasn't been damaged at all, which means you must do the first move of it when the battle begins or when your opponent comes back from being knocked away. * You can continue a broken combo, as long as you don't damage the enemy using any other move. However, some combos can't be "continued" if you let your opponent brake them. * I play in Sector-Z mostly, 95% of the time. Nevertheless, I realized not everyone does the same. So, there might be some combos that could obviously be longer, but they're not so you can try them out if you choose a different stage. In fact, I've started considering creating a "Sector Z only" section. * You have to Z-CANCEL every aerial move. * Combos are explained step by step. * And finally, this is how a combo is displayed: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ --------------------------------------------------------------------------- You V.S. Opponent Damage done by the combo difficulty --------------------------------------------------------------------------- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ======== 5.Combos ======== Soooo....here they are, finally. It was a hard work, and I spent several weeks writing the FAQ. I hope you find it useful. Enjoy! ____________________________________________________________________________ CaptainFalconCaptainFalconCaptainFalconCaptainFalconCaptainFalcon ============================CAPTAIN FALCON========================= CaptainFalconCaptainFalconCaptainFalconCaptainFalconCaptainFalcon ____________________________________________________________________________ * U Smash and throw are Falcon's main combo starters. While you might be throwing to begin a combo most of the time (some combos that begin with an U Smash can also be started using a throw), certain combos must be commenced solely by U smashing the enemy, due to the certain distance that the enemy travels by striking with this move. * You should be as fast and accurate as you can when doing the combos against the lighter characters. Practice your timing too: remember that lighter characters have better recovery than heavier ones. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Captain Falcon V.S. Captain Falcon Damage: 111% ***** --------------------------------------------------------------------------- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 1. U Smash 2. U Smash 3. Quick Double Jump, U + A (air) [Go-Through] Yes, you have to do a double jump. It's somewhat easier to do the next step if you jump twice here. Ah!, you must be above C. Falcon after this hits. 4. Wait, Fwd + A (air) (one hit) You shouldn't hit immediately after the last strike, but wait a sec (not too much)and do the Fwd + A. By the way, you need to hit only with the first kick, and Z cancel as soon as you land. I also suggest that you move towards the opponent while doing this part. 5. U Smash. Land and hit immediately. 6. Jump, U + A. (air) 7. Mid Air Jump + Falcon Punch. (air) Yes, as written above. This part is very tricky and actually needs some practice before you can pull it off well. You must start doing the Falcon Punch at the same time you Mid Air jump. I highly seggest you jump slightly backwards also, since that'll increase your chances of hitting the enemy before he hits you. If done properly, there's no way your opponent can avoid being hit,no matter how good he/she is. Perhaps you might get hit sometimes too, though; but still be able to knock C. Falcon away. P.S. THIS IS A KILLER COMBO (>.<) P.S. You are free to use this combo against Link as well, it works the same way. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Captain Falcon V.S. Link Damage: 97% **** --------------------------------------------------------------------------- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 1. U Smash 2. U Smash 3. Jump slightly backwards, Fwd + A (air) In order to make this combo work correctly, I recommend you jump a little bit backwards, it's easier to connect the 2 hits of the move if you do so. 4. Run towards, U Smash 5. Jump, U + A (air) 6. Mid Air Jump, D + B (air) It looks cooler if you finish it with a Falcon Kick, but you can do anything you feel like to do to finish it. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Captain Falcon V.S. Yoshi Damage: 101% **** --------------------------------------------------------------------------- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 1. U Smash 2. U-Fwd Fwd + A You have to do a 50° Fwd + A kick. 3. [ Run or stand still ] U Smash What you must do here is depends on which part of the leg Falcon hits. Thus, you'll sometimes have to run to reach yoshi, or just stand still. It's not difficult at all to realize what you'll need to do, and it'd be very odd if you have trouble pulling this off. 4. Jump Backwards, Fwd + A (air) Don't forget it, 2 hits. Move towards yoshi while falling down. 5. Jump forward, U + A (air) If you have been doing the combo correctly, you should've landed before Yoshi, and should be able to do this step properly. 6. Mid-air jump, U + B. Fox Damage: 53%(A), 76%(B) ** (A) *** (B) --------------------------------------------------------------------------- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 1. D + A (air) 2. U Smash 3. Small Jump, Back + A After this: [A] - Dash + A If the punch you just did knocked Fox away too far, there's no way you can do anything besides this. [B] - Run, U Smash On the other hand, if you happen to be close enough to Fox by the moment you land, you can lengthen the combo. - Jump, U + B. (air) Some people are going to say you can do a U + A air kick before this; but I'm pretty sure you couldn't follow up with the Falcon Dive if you do that. P.S. This combo is most likely going to be replaced by one of Falcon's throw combos. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Captain Falcon V.S. Mario Damage: 83% **** --------------------------------------------------------------------------- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 1. U Smash 2. [ Go-Through ] Jump, U + A (air) By go-through, what I mean is that you must pull off the move as you start the jump, so you end up being above Mario after you've hit. It's better if you use a double jump to execute this. 3. Back + A (air) / A (air) You have these two options, choose the one that you find easier to do after the last move, it really doesn't matter. 4. Fast Fall. Run Towards, Jump + U + A (air) Fall faster by tapping down the stick. 5. Mid Air Jump, U + B. (air) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Captain Falcon V.S. Ness Damage: 82% [A], 69% [B] ** [A] ***** [B] --------------------------------------------------------------------------- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 1. U Smash [A] 2. U-Fwd Fwd + A 3. Dash, U Smash 4. Jump, U + A (air) 5. Mid Air Jump, U + B (air) [B] 2. [Go-Through] Jump, U + A (air) Hit the opponent when you're about to reach him, to be above him after you strike. 3. Fwd + A (air) (one hit) Wait until you begin to fall down, then hit (only the first kick) 4. U-Fwd Fwd + A This is quite hard. You have to hit Ness IMMEDIATELY after you Z cancel the last move, and as high as you can (without messing up and doing an U + A kick instead of a Fwd + A). 5. D + B If everything was done right, the Falcon Kick is going to reach and hit Ness before he can do a safe fall. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Captain Falcon V.S. Luigi Damage: 69% ** --------------------------------------------------------------------------- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 1. D + A (air) 2. U Smash 3. Jump, U + A (air) 4. Tap Down, Mid Air jump Fwd + A (air) 5. [Optional] [Very Risky] U + B (air) If you keep holding Fwd after the kicks, you COULD continue the combo by doing a Falcon Dive while still in the air, and just after the last hit. However, you'll seldom find the opportunity to do it without being hit before if you're facing an experienced player. Luigi is lighter than I thought and has short recovery time, so this is all I can offer so far. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Captain Falcon V.S. Pikachu Damage: 70% ** --------------------------------------------------------------------------- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 1. U Smash 2. Small Jump Backwards, Fwd + A (air) 3. Run, Jump + U + A (air) 4. D + B (air) Jump again if you're not above Pikachu. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Samus Captain Falcon V.S. Kirby Damage: ? ? Jigglypuff --------------------------------------------------------------------------- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I'm truly sorry, but I couldn't come up with any advanced combos to execute against these three characters. It's not that you can't use combos when fighting them, but the lightness (Jiggly and Kirby) and the shortest recovery time in the game (Samus) are obstacles I couldn't deal with. Although you can always use the old well known basic combos that Falcon has, if you are having a battle which involves any of these three fellas. June 28 2004: I'm about to replace this blank space with Falcon's throw com- bos, even though they may be more basic than the rest of the combos found in this FAQ, I no longer want this section to remain empty. ___________________________________________________________________________ | FoxFoxFoxFoxFoxFoxFoxFoxFoxFoxFoxFoxFoxFoxFoxFoxFoxFoxFoxFoxFoxFoxFox | ================================FOX================================ | FoxFoxFoxFoxFoxFoxFoxFoxFoxFoxFoxFoxFoxFoxFoxFoxFoxFoxFoxFoxFoxFoxFox | ___________________________________________________________________________ *Fox has several combo set-ups. However, the most common are aerial D + A and U + A. Thus, you have tu practice your small jumping tactics in order to make it easier to pull off Fox combos. Get used to jumping with C Down and to anticipate the aerial move you want to do before you actually pull it off. * I suggest you hold the stick U/D/Fwd/Back (depending on which attack you want to do)before you jump. Doing so allows you to do an aerial attack just after you leave the ground more easily. * Usually, multi-hit attacks do poor hit stun. If you seem to have trouble pulling off a ground attack after an aerial D + A, you should time your attack better and do the drill kick just a lil' bit before the opponent is about to recover from the last attack. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fox V.S. A The 9th step juggles Link a little bit, allowing you to connect this without letting him escape. 11. U Smash, or Fwd Smash (sometimes) Here you finish the combo, you must do it VERY quickly after the last hit. I usually use U Smash, but you're free to do anything you want to end the combo. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fox V.S. Falcon Damage: 100% + **** --------------------------------------------------------------------------- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 1. Small Jump, U + A (air) (2hits) / Small jump, D + A (ALL hits) 2. U + A 3. U + A Immediately after #2 4. Wait, D + A Yes, it is possible to hit Falcon when he's about to hit the ground and before he can roll away, 'cause the second U + A doesn't actually knock him. 5. Small Jump Towards, D + A (air) * 5. U + A 6. Small Jump Towards, D + A (air) * 7. D + A 8. Jump Towards, D + A (air) 9. R + Back. / Neutral A, followed by an U + A Smash. *If you can consistently do Fox's infinite combo (Small jump, aerial U + A's 1st hit X N) you can start doing it at this point. It's actually your best option if you're on a small stage. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fox V.S. Samus Damage: 80% **** --------------------------------------------------------------------------- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 1. D + A 2. D + A Here's the tough, tricky part. You must have good timing to hit with the tail before she can recover or do a safe fall. I highly recommend you don't do it right after the first D + A, but wait a sec and then pull it off. It's not really that difficult, but some people find it kind of hard to execute. 3. I suggest that you use the stick to make the jump, that seems to ease this maneuver. 4. Tap down, D + A. This is a move that allows you to execute a spike or any other aerial move just after you've DOUBLE jumped, then land and repeat the move over and over again, since you DON'T HAVE TO Z CANCEL IT. Regarding tiers, this is exactly what makes Ness Top Tier, indeed. It takes a lot of practice to master it, but once you've done it, your opponent is in serious danger. Basically, YOU CAN'T BLOCK THIS MOVE. Do so, and expect your shield to be broken. This move is so fast it makes the enemy go into a long block stun time before they can recover or do a shield grab/up smash. In fact, your enemy could let go off the Z button and you'd still brake his shield. Due to that, and the fact that it's and aerial move that behaves as a ground one, I decided to make this Ness' combo starter. It's important to know that combos that just involve a SBJ attack in the beginning of them, can also be started using a normal spike; but combos where you do need to SBJ in the middle of them simply can't be done if you haven't learned how to do this technique. So, it's done this way: *WWW WWW WWW WWW WWW WWW WWW WWW WWW WWW WWW WWW WWW WWW WWW WWW WWW WWW WWW WWWWWW WWWWWW hile holding any direction, press C-RIGHT. As soon as you press it, make your thumb go from that button to A button quickly, so you press C-DOWN in your way... This must be done quick enough to SLIGHTLY leave the ground and do the kick in the air, but not so quickly you don't jump and do nothing when you press A button. If done correctly, you'll see Ness do a VERY, VERY little small jump, then do a mid-air jump and an A button air attack at the same time, and then land immediatly. Again, If done right, it must have been semi-auto Z-canceled, allowing you to repeat the move as soon as you land. That's it, really. Only that. It sounds easy, but takes some practice before you can actually use it well and consistently. After you can pull it off, try out my Ness combos. However, the timing is tough and you must be pretty accurate to pull off the Hand Slap and make it combo. You can't simply keep holding D and pressing the B button. The key is to press B at the moment D.K.'s hand touches his head after it has struck the enemy. I'll say it again: the timing is very tricky. It can even take you several tries before you can do it right. Damn, it's even difficult to make it combo in training mode. I also noticed you MUST hit the opponent with any air move before you D + A. The D + A hand blow alone can't stun the opponent long enough to get the D + B combo. Though it has not instant start up, U Smash has fairly good priority and is your best option to begin a combo against a lighter character. *Fwd Smash Has VERY good priority, hit stun AND reach. It's a great combo starter when you fight heavier characters. It's best used after a small jump and due to the excellent hit stun it provides when it hits, you can dash - U Smash with relative ease after it connects. Thus, you CAN hit with the tip of the sword and still be able to Dash - U Smash. Nevertheless, be aware that you have to hit with the first stage of the animation: if Link hits the enemy while in the second part of the animation, the move will not do enough damage nor will it do enough hit stun to continue a combo. In fact, you can hit the opponent when he's in the air (as long as he's not too high), then dash throw and U Smash when he's still in hit stun. It's also better to de the Fwd + A (air) while falling down. *Neutral A is an excellent move to use after an U + Smash that cannot be followed by a ground-based move. The timing could be tricky, though: Most of the time you'll want to do it early, but not too early (for instance Kirby's neutral A where you must do the move really early, as soon as you have left the ground). ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Link V.S. Though my combos are meant to be started when the opponent has 0% damage, it's not like you're ALWAYS looking for a combo at the beginning of the fight. broken combos and combos that you do when the opponent has already been damaged can be len ghtened with ease until they become killer combos by the use of weakened U + A's (air). *D + A is an underrated move that has interesting uses, such as poke strings and hit then dash throw. However, this move has also 2 properties that don't become obvious and useful if you don't know it has them. 1: D + A juggles. Not too much, but in certain situations this can come in handy. 2: U + A comboes after it. Again, this is not as exploitable as many other moves, but is VERY useful since a D + A, U + A combo sets up a killer combo. Thus, you must have very quick fingers and above average skill, to execute this: immediatly after you've recovered from hitting, tap Fwd; then tap up without releasing the stick or press any C button, and finally do the up + A at the moment you leave the ground. You must also be as close as possible, or the 5th step of the combo will not hit. And if it does hit, then the 6th blow will not be possible, anyway. 4. D + A Quickly. Don't forget to move towards jiggly after hitting. 3. U + A 4. Jump slightly backwards, Fwd + A (air) (all hits) 5. Mid Air Jump Towards, A (air) / U + B (air) --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Kirby V.S. Mario !!! Damage: 75-79% ****** --------------------------------------------------------------------------- The main requirements to pull this off succesfully, are: very good timing, good use of small jumps and experience doing delayed hits. ^ . ^ 1. D + A (air) [ !21!/24 ] Each hit does 3% damage. I really recommend that you learn how to deal exactly 21% damage. Doing 24% utterly changes the timing and makes WAY more difficult the combo. if you happen to do less or more damage than 21%, You're better off pulling off a killer combo. This is fancier, though. 2. WALK AWAY FROM MARIO, U + A This step is pretty important. First of all you must walk away from Mario slightly, get as far as you can while he's still stunned by the drill kick. then, do the U + A. NOTE: Mario has to be behind kirby when you hit him. 3. Small Jump backwards, A (air) [delayed hit] I suggest you start approaching to Mario after you press A. So do a normal small jump, press A at the moment you jump and move toward. Keep moving towards Mario after you strike. 4. U + A Just after you Z-cancel. 5. Double Jump, Back + A (air) / wait 1/2 second, Jump with C button or Stick, and press Back + A when you're about to reach Mario. [delayed hit] You can do a small jump, then a mid air jump and then pull off the back + A, kick at the same time you do this second jump, or jump using the stick, or REALLY time a C button jump. Besides, you might want to jump slightly backwards, since opponent should be in front of you after you hit. You know, consider that to do a delayed hit with this move, you should hit opponent with Kirby's "forehead" (lol) rather than weaken the move by hitting with his feet when the move animation is about to finish. 6. Mid air jump towards, A (air) OPTIONAL Once you get this combo mastered, there's a variation you could try out, but it requires super skills. I also believe you're more likely to pull this variation off if you dealt less damage in the beginning of the combo. 6. Mid Air Jump towards, Fwd + A (air) 7. Mid air jump + U-Fwd (hold) U + B By this moment, it becomes pretty difficult to hit Mario, since the move you just did could've been too strong, making Kirby unable to hit Mario one more time. You should start to move towards Mario when the drill kick is about to finish, then jump as soon as the move ends. Holding U-Fwd will also grant a small boost to the Final Cutter start up. In fact, you'll hit Mario with the edge of the blade, and actually you should carry on moving toward Mario if you want the move to keep hitting. *************** |Killer Combos| *************** Under construction. ____________________________________________________________________________ *MarioMarioMarioMarioMarioMarioMarioMarioMarioMarioMarioMarioMarioMario* ================================MARIO============================== *MarioMarioMarioMarioMarioMarioMarioMarioMarioMarioMarioMarioMarioMario* ____________________________________________________________________________ *Unlike Luigi's D + A (air), Mario's seem to do more hit stun and last a little bit longer. Due to this, you can start a combo with Mario using a D + A (air) after an small jump slightly before than you'd have to with Luigi. Not too early, though. *D + B is a complicated move. If you're pulling off a combo where you need to do an D + B, try NOT to hit with the beginning of the move, but with the 2nd or Third. The beginning of the animation has more knock back and could cause the enemy to be sent to Mario's side. Also, try to keep Mario floating slightly above the ground: This seems to decrease the chances your enemy has to escape out of it by rotating the stick. *U + A has more lag than Luigi's. *Likewise Luigi, Learn to weaken U + A (air).
