実況 パワフルプ野球Basic版2001 Live Powerful Pro Baseball Basic Edition 2001 Contents 1.Introduction 2.Manual Translation 1.Introduction Released on March 29th 2001, this is the 5th Powerful Pro Baseball game on the N64, a series which began on the Super Famicom in 1994. The game requires 123 pages to save. It sold around 110,000 copies, much less than the previous games. The game can connect with the Game Boy game Power Pro Kun Pocket 3 using the 64 GB Pak. You can move players from the Game Boy to the N64, but not the other way around. This time the game has no Success Mode, which perhaps explains the “Basic Edition” in the title. However players made in the 2000 game and the game boy game Power Kun Pocket can be transferred to this game. They also removed the Dramatic Pennant Mode which allowed you to train your players before starting the Pennant competition which made the Pennant a bit more exciting. Additionally the Scenario mode was also removed, this mode allowed you to try and win specific games with specific conditions. The removal of all of these modes effectively makes this the worst release in the series on the N64. It is clear that the developers were trying to strain out the last possible sales for a now aging engine on a now aging system. This was one of the last games released in Japan on the N64. The manual for this game includes the results of the 2000 pennant competition; you can use this to choose the best team for the main modes. Yes, Yakult is a Japanese drink, and yes they own a baseball team. As a Brit I know nothing about Baseball, so please forgive any errors in terms I may make. It's even possible that some cricket terminology might accidentally slip in instead, sorry gov'ner. The manual for this game is very similar to the manual for the first 2 games on the N64 in terms of content, but the layout is different. If you have read my other guides you can probably skim read this one without missing much. I would like to thank Ozidual. Without his hard work, this guide would not have been possible. He has been tirelessly scanning and uploading Japanese N64 game manuals at extremely high quality. He is also assisting in many N64 translation projects and fixed the trophy glitch in Space Station Silicon Valley. I am very grateful for your efforts towards preserving video game history.
