Hopefully people will read it. Anyway, this FAQ covers the great Sega Genesis game "Valis: Phantasm Soldier". Rather than begin the walkthrough with item lists, boss stats, Yuko stats and the Valis history, I'll just skip right to the walkthrough. Makes it easier to find when you want to glance at it, should you be stuck. One thing I have to say though, is that all item names and boss names (Except the last two) are made up by me. I only owned a copy of the game, I never had the intructions. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 2. Controls Controls are easy for this game. D-buttons - Move Yuko in the appropriate direction. START - Brings up the list of magic that Yuko can use. A - Slide. Use to move across gaps that Yuko can't otherwise jump over. B - Attack. Makes Yuko swing her sword. Pressing up and B casts magic. C - Jump. Yuko jumps. Pressing up and C will make Yuko do a higher jump. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 3. Walkthrough STAGE 1 This is your basic left to right stage. As Yuko can't fire anything yet, you'll have to be careful when you attack your enemies. You'll have to get close to them, but not too close. When you defeat your first enemies, high jump up to the fences and basically keep a high ground. If you want, you can destroy the enemies you see below, and return to your route. Along the way, you'll come to a pink jewel with a gold casing on it. Swing Yuko's sword at this jewel, and it will reveal a powerup. Gather it, and Yuko will be able to shoot small balls from her sword. Helpful if you want to keep your distance. Continuing on, you'll find another jewel containing a blue and yellow jewel inside it. Grabbing this will fill up a few units on the bar below your health bar. In other words, these jewels are magic powerups. You won't need magic quite yet, but it will come in handy once things get rolling. Onward to the slope, and high jump onto the building you first see. Move across it and onto the next building. Jump onto yet another building, and high jump to the top to find another magic jewel. If you've lost any health, don't worry. Moving across the top of that building and onto the next will reveal another powerup jewel high at the top of the screen. High jump and strike it to reveal a big heart. This is a health powerup. If you've lost health, grab it and continue on. Drop down to the street to find a spear-wielding warrior and another pink jewel. Jumping behind the warrior is the trick here. Finish him off and grab the jewel. Run to the building immediately to the right of the brick wall and once again make the climb upwards. Run to the right, and across the pink/red building. High jump onto the next building and continue onwards to snag a powerup. Lo and behold, it's another sword powerup. Very good indeed. High jump onto the next building and make your way to the ground. Once there, run to the right to enter the subway. The basic trick here is to run to the right and fire at all your enemies. You're not being timed, so be careful and don't go forward too fast. If you crouch and press jump, you'll jump down to the lower level. This helps if you want to snag some of the powerups hidden there. Don't forget to get the 1-up near the end of the screen. It would be a shame to miss it. If things have gone right (i.e. You got all the powerups in the previous room), you should have a full magic meter, a full life meter, and three powerups for your sword. You'll know you have it if the three rectangles in the top right are pink, and your sword is shooting balls to the top and bottom as well as forward. Collect any powerups you might need (There's only one anyway) and continue to the right. BOSS: Earth Quaker If you want, you can take some pot shots at this boss while he's appearing. When he appears, he'll raise his arms into the air several times. When he does this, the ground will shake and Yuko will be damaged. To counter this, jump into the air. You'll still take hits, only not so many. You'll know to stop jumping when the boss starts hurling boulders at you. Stand at about the midscreen and fire away like crazy. You'll destroy the boulders and pelt him some good ones. When he stops firing, you stop firing. He'll curl up into a ball and roll to the other side of the screen. Simply jump over him and repeat the pattern to defeat him. If you get hit a lot and manage to beat him, don't worry. Your health is restored at the completion of each stage. Beating this boss will earn you a Phantasm Jewel. STAGE 2 Upon beginning stage 2, press START. Up will come a list. An arrow will be pointing at an entry at the top of the list. It will be the EARTHQUAKE magic. It comes pre-equipped, but if it makes you feel better to equip it, then go ahead. Pressing up and B will make Yuko cast this magic. It's an earthquake that can hurt even flying monsters. Anyhow, this stage is another left to right deal. The beginning has a bit of a trick. You'll run into a rock golem monster, and then a dog monster. After you defeat the dog monster, walk slowly to the right until you come to a small bump. Proceed with caution, as a monster will suddenly pop out of the ground at you if you're not careful. Swing quickly to defeat this monster. Before you go up the slopes, you'll come to a red knight that might be tough to defeat. It's a lot easier than anything if you know what to do. If you swing over and over, the soldier will kneel, making it invincible. If you stop swinging for a moment, the soldier will get up. Swing again, and you'll hit him. Proceed to the right up the slopes, being careful of monsters. Make sure to high jump often to check for powerups you might miss caused by the screen being too low as you ascend. On the next screen, you'll find yourself in an ice cave. This place is short and easy, except for the last part. Just run and collect the powerups you see. You'll eventually come to a lone powerup sitting at the top of the cave. You can get it if you want, so go ahead. Then, the second boss will appear. BOSS: Ice Harpy The big mean, green, flying woman isn't as nasty as you think. If you do the right moves, you can beat her with little or no harm. Stand below her as she flies to the left and let some shots go as she flies. She'll fire out two white orbs that shoot feathers in eight directions. She'll then dive at a 45 degree angle and end up at the other side of the screen. You'll be tempted to slide under her when she does that dive, but don't! Instead, slide the way she is diving and crouch. She'll take another dive and repeat her pattern. Repeat yours to defeat her and recieve the second Phantasm Jewel. STAGE 3 The second Phantasm Jewel gives you ICE FEATHER, which is really only effective if you're surrounded. You're in a contrasting fire and lava stage now. The first thing to note is that there are two powerups right where you start. Don't miss them. Continue to the right and beat the flying soul (Blue-white spiraling fireball) and any other adversary you come across. You'll reach a hole. Slide or jump across it and continue on. You'll come to an array of platforms with a pool of lava along the bottom. Make your way downwards, but avoid the lava if you can. If you land in it, jump out immediately to avoid any damage. Watch out for the sword mistresses, and the flying lizards. Run to the right and you'll see another flying soul, as well as small blue orbs shooting out of the wall to the right. You'll notice a face in the wall. Shoot at it to kill it, then drop down and head left. Grab all the powerups and defeat the enemies to get a great haul, if you need it. You'll find hearts and magic refills, should you need them. Head back to the right and up. Go back to the platforms. Standing to the immediate right of the lava pool, there should be a platform above you. Jump onto it. Jump straight up to defeat the sword mistress and flying soul if they're still there from your last visit. If you look to the right, you'll see an upper platform and a lower one. Find your way into the lower one first and head to the right. Hit the jewel to find a new, nifty looking powerup. What does it do? Well, if you grab it, the three pink squares in the top will change to blue ones, and the sword icon beside them will change. As well, the shot from your sword will change too. This shot is more powerful than the previous, though at this point it's not fully powered up, so it's hard to believe. I call this sword the Lazershot. In any case, head back left and find your way onto the upper platform by sliding. Head right and make your way up. Watch out for the wall face on the right. At this point, head to the left. Be careful though. Some wall faces have sunk so low as to take residence in the ceiling! For the sake of simplicity, slide across the holes. If you want to jump, that's fine, but the placement of some of the wall/ceiling faces makes that option hard to live with at this point. Once all the way left, go up. There will be a platform to the right with a sword mistress on it. Wait until she walks to the right and then slide across the gap to reach it. Run after the sword mistress and plug her full of sword shots, making sure to jump over hers. Run right and notice the first pit you reach. More blue-white balls will rain downwards. Yep, another ceiling face! Stand to the right of it and slide onto the platform. Jump over the sword mistresses shots and vanquish her. Continue right carefully. There will be a rock formation jutting upwards. Watch it for a second to catch another ceiling face before it can catch you. Defeat the next sword mistress and keep going. In the next screen, avoid the powerup right above you to avoid getting a weapon downgrade. Kill the flying lizard with shots to move onwards. Again, don't worry about lost health. Slide across the gap to avoid the lava, and slide over the pit you see. Don't worry, you'll be visiting the area it goes to later. Also, either avoid or kill the flying lizards that stand in your way. Slide across all the pits until you meet a flying soul and lizard together. Here, you'll have to pull a bit of a trick. There are two floating platforms to your immediate right. Stand on the right edge of the lower one and slide. Done correctly, you'll land in a passageway, where you'll have to do away with two more souls. Easy if you grabbed that other Lazershot powerup on the way. In any case, go right and go down. Be careful of the wall face below the first platform to the middle that you come to. Drop down some more and kill the sword mistress. Grab the magic powerup and hop onto the mistresses platform. Slide to the left to visit an area with some item jewels. Go back to the right and drop below the sword mistresses platform to reach a new area. Watch out for the flying soul that will come at you from the floor. Go left first to go down a hall with a pretty good item stash. Watch out for the flying soul, and kill the wall face. It's here that you'll collect your third Lazershot powerup. Take a swing and see its full power. It fires in two directions. Excellent stuff. Go back to the right to where you first dropped down. Go back up? No. Go right this time. There's another wall face to deal with, so be careful when jumping up onto the first rock formation. After that, drop down the shaft. Head left again and slide across the lava pools. Defeat the enemies around that area and snag the magic and health refills. Go right. There's another sword mistress and another ceiling face to deal with. Grab the powerup if you need it, and go right. You'll end up in the next screen. Here, you'll find two powerups. If you need magic and health, then grab them. Running to the right leads you to the next boss. BOSS: Fire Sabra This is probably the easiest boss in the game. Take pot shots as she appears, then slide under her when she rises into the air. She'll do a 45 degree jump kick. When she lands, she'll face you and fire a small stream of fire at you. High jump over the fire and swing at her like crazy. Just repeat this pattern and the rest is cake. You'll be given another Phantasm Jewel. STAGE 4 This new Phantasm Jewel gives you the FIRE RING magic. I personally like it. It doesn't make Yuko invincible, but it does make it so that any enemies that touch the ring get damaged greatly. Grab the powerup (Avoiding the sword powerup if you want to) and head right. Watch out for the jumping centaurs. They do that every time they come up to a wall. Stand back a bit and shoot him while he's in the air. If you can jump over him when he's walking towards you, then do it. Otherwise, a few shots will show this menace who's boss. Continue right. Grab the powerups as you head down the hill, and watch out for the crow. Once you get the hang of where it is, you can destroy it before it can cause you any real trouble. Kill the maggot too if you can. It's not much of a threat, but it can get annoying. Dropping down as you continue on, you'll notice yet another crow. Properly prepared, it's once again dead before it can cause you any trouble. Continue right. Right about where the small heart powerup is, there's a dropoff. Stand back, because there's another jumping centaur heading your way. Defeat or avoid this menace to continue on. Go off the dropoff and head down the small slope. As you continue right, you'll need to defeat the maggot, two frogs (Easy if you keep your distance and kill them quickly), and what looks like a flying lobster. Defeat it and continue right to find yourself at the ruins of a bridge. At about this point, jumping or sliding is optional. I prefer high jumping however, because it allows for better distance control, and that is crucial here. At the end of the first bridge is a narrow platform, another flying lobster, and another crow. If you can time it, you can get the crow before it hits you. Otherwise, you'll have to make sure it hits you in the air, so it doesn't send you flying off the platform. You might want to take the flying lobster first. To your right is another bridge. Jump normally across the bridge chasms, except for the last one. You'll want to high jump here. Make sure you land near the edge though; there's a frog waiting for you. Kill it and continue onwards. Head up the slope, grabbing the powerups and killing the maggots. Around the area you find the jumping centaur is a hiding crow. High jump to see it and kill it. You can take your time with the centaur. Jump over it if necessary. There is a three step formation after the first centaur. There are two more centaurs headed your way. Avoid jumping into their shots, and pelt them with yours to defeat them and continue. The next screen contains two magic powerups and the next boss. BOSS: Windbubble Wizard This is another boss that you can escape harm from if you know what to do. Firstly, take pot shots at him as he appears. Eventually, he'll float upwards encased in a protective bubble. He'll then do one of two things: 1) He'll float to the other side and land, or; 2) He'll float to the center of the screen. If he floats to the other side, that means that you didn't stand underneath him near the center of the screen as he floated above you. Good work! Pat yourself on the back, and shoot at him whenever you can. This includes his descent. When he lands, stop shooting and stand back. He'll fire two boomerang type shots at you, only they won't return. To dodge them, high jump over the first one and try to land between them. The other will sail over your head. Try to make it so he flies to the other side of the screen. If he does, he fires the same shots, but in a different arrangement. Just high jump over them to dodge them. If he floats to the center of the screen, things are about to get a little bit difficult. He'll cast a spell which will cause two tornadoes to fire inwards from the sides of the screen. To avoid them, high jump above them, moving in the opposite direction of their trajectory. He'll land on either the left or the right side of the screen. On the left, he fires the formation of the boomerang weapons that you must land between. On the right, he fires the formation that you must jump completely over. Defeat him to obtain the next Phantasm Jewel. STAGE 5 This new Phantasm Jewel grants you the TORNADO magic. When cast, Yuko projects two tornadoes in opposite directions. You find yourself at a temple. Head right and defeat any enemies. With the sword you have now, you might want to skip the first sword powerup you come to, but it's your choice. Continue right to encounter another vampire mouth, and a walking knight. This one has a bit of a trick too. When he walks, you can hit him all you want. When he stops and is inside two shields, he can't be hit, and it means he's charging up. When he fires his bolts, your shots will destroy his, and you'll get more chances to kill him. The next enemy is pretty simple. It looks like a collection of eyeballs on a golden plate. When Yuko passes under or near the enemy, it fires an electric beam at the ground. To get it, high jump and fire shots at it. Continuing to the right, the next powerup you find gets you into a dilemma. Inside is a new sword powerup. This is what I call the Arrowshot. In it's first stage, it fires two arrows that home in on targets. In it's second stage, it fires three arrows and it's final stage is just... well... useful in its own way. It's not too powerful, but it allows you to register a lot of hits within a few seconds. I recommend sticking to the sword you have now, as it's more powerful. It's your choice though. Running to the right leads you to the next screen. When you first appear, watch out! Phew... if you didn't move, then the brick that fell from the ceiling just now missed you, and you crouched to defeat the snake. Then the flying vampire mouth. Continuing right, watch out for more bricks to fall. Can't tell which ones will fall? Here's a simple way. The brick pattern is very consistent, except for one thing. The odd time you'll find that the brick outline is slightly thicker on the right of that particular brick. That brick is going to fall. Run right to the stairway, collecting the powerups, and go up the large staircase. Make sure to high jump, just to make sure of powerups, and to the left, you'll find yet another flying monster that looks like a shrimp. Kill it if you must, and continue right. You'll come to what looks like a sewer pipe spilling grey liquid into a small pool. If you touch the water, you'll get damaged, but guess what? You can stand on the sewer pipe. The powerup jewel reveals another Arrowshot. Grab it if you want, and continue on. Continue over the next two sewage pools and nab the sword powerup if you stuck with the Lazershot. Run to the right, and keep your eye on the ground. Eventually, you'll come to a patch of ground that is white in color. Walk to it and slide across it. You'll come back to it later. Continue right, defeat any and all enemies, and grab all powerups that you want up to the edge of that platform. Head back left to that white patch. Walk onto it. Now don't be shocked when you fall into it, and into a tunnel. I'll lead you to the place you got to when you were on the above platform. Grab all powerups, watch out for more falling bricks, and defeat your enemies quickly. Watch out for the flying eyeball mass, and grab the heart powerup if you need it. Head right offscreen. In the next screen, high jump to get the first two powerups, and head right. Drop any enemies in your path and snag the powerups. Head to the top of the staircase. Grab the powerups if you need them. Defeat the knight at the top and run until you're offscreen. BOSS: Hydra Like my original boss names? Anyway, this one is easy, but can cause some heavy damage before you're done with it. If you stuck with your guns and kept the Lazershot, you should take a bit less damage. As the Hydra fires small blue rings, the odd one will head right for you while the rest sail above and below you. The Lazershot will decimate these rings, leaving you unharmed. With the Lazershot though, you'll have to move in a bit closer to take shots at the head when they're drawn back. Hit the suckers as much and as fast as you can. They turn red often and cast their special spell. Something that helps is to cast TORNADO twice, and then follow them up with EARTHQUAKE. That will set you ahead for damage purposes. If you changed to the Arrowshot, you're in for an easier time in terms of hitting the Hydra, but you'll probably take a lot more damage. Just stand there and pelt the heads with arrows. You should get it. Throw in some TORNADOes if you feel the need. Beating this monstrosity nets you another Phantasm Jewel. If you want to cast more magic, there's a magic powerup hidden near the top left of the screen. STAGE 6 Your new Phantasm Jewel has awarded you the GIGA THUNDER attack. A costly but powerful spell that causes the same effect that the Hydra had on you. Okay, the Bee is easy enough to kill. Grab the powerup if you like, and kill the second Bee. As you run forward, watch the ground. You'll see a black part on it. Stop in front of it and kill the rolling golem across it. Slide across the hole and continue to the right. Jump up and hit the powerup jewel, and you will reveal another sword powerup. This is what I call the Holy Sword powerup. Trust me, you want this one. Grab it. It fires as quickly as you can swing, and it's shots are extremely powerful. Next to that, the shots have incredible range. Now you see why you should grab it. Slide over the next hole and jump to avoid the bull. Jump over it again to get behind it and slay it with your new weapon. Continue onwards. At the next hole, kill the flying lightning jellyfish. Slide across the hole and kill the crossbow woman. Kill the Bee after that and snag the powerups, since you should be low on magic points. Run to the right until you have killed another Bee and killed a rolling golem. You'll come to a step-like formation. Grab the heart if you need it, and grab the Holy Sword powerup. You're not done yet, so keep going right. Kill the flying lightning casters, and watch out for the bull in between them. At the next hole, avoid the sword powerup, and kill the enemies. Running to the right will get you up a small slope where you'll kill another crossbow woman. Kill the bull shortly after that, and the other crossbow woman. Now, run all the way back to the beginning of the stage, avoiding the holes as you go. When you reach the beginning of the stage, head back to the right and fall down the first hole you come to. Kill the rolling golem and snag the magic powerup. Continue to the right grabbing magic, killing enemies, and avoiding all sword powerups except the Holy Sword, and sliding over the blue pools. Head up the slope and into the next screen. Kill the crossbow woman and the flying lightning caster. Grab the powerups and arm the GIGA THUNDER magic. Run to the right to get to the next boss. BOSS: Dark Valis Warrior Firstly, as the warrior descends, run all the way to the left side of the screen. Stand there firing away. As she gets close to you, try to jump over her shots, and stay under her as she jumps upwards. When you hit her enough, she'll stand still and powerup to use her spell. At this point, stand as close as you can and slug away as much as possible. If you're lucky, she'll go down before she can cast her spell. If not, you'll be killed and have to start all over again. Defeating her earns you the final Phantasm Jewel. STAGE 7 Your new Phantasm Jewel contains DEATH FLASH, which is definitely the most powerful and costly spell in the game. It emits a high intensity flash which destroys all those in range. If you died against the last boss, you'll find another Holy Sword powerup. Kill the Reaper and Lamia monsters that appear, and continue onwards. The next powerup is one you don't want; the Arrowshot. Near that is a whip maiden. Kill her and proceed. Kill the enemies and snag the magic powerup should you need it. In the next screen, high jump and move forward slowly so you can see the ceiling. You'll soon see two powerup jewels and an odd shape among them. That is a spider. Walk close to the spider and it'll drop and rise quickly. Kill it and grab the powerups. Don't bother looking behind the pillars. Kill the whip maiden and the giant knight that I call the gigas knight. Unlike the other knights, the gigas knight can take a few hits, and fires three shots that bounce around the screen. If you learned from the first spider, keep jumping to navigate the room for powerups and spiders. You'll come upon a new sword powerup. This is what I call the Apocalypse Sword. This is the most powerful sword in the game, and very useful to say the least. While it's range is slightly less than that of the Holy Sword, its projectiles explode, which at this point I believe just make it look cool. The major usefulness of this sword is that it can bury your enemies in shots that are actually powerful. Similar to the Arrowshot, but much more powerful. Anyway, continue on with your new blade. When you get to the slope, you'll see a pillar with what looks like a layer of bricks. Kill the Lamia and jump onto the bricks. Snag the powerups and slide from the end of the bricks to go up the slope. Take a few cautious steps and you'll reveal a spider waiting for you. Kill the two whip maidens that appear and continue upwards. You'll find another Reaper and a spider close to that. High jump throughout this section in order to make sure you don't get hit by any spiders. At the top of the slope is another gigas knight. At the end of the platform is another layer of bricks on a pillar. There's a spider over the chasm, so watch out for it. When you're across, grab the powerup and continue to the right. When you reach the edge of the platform, double back ALL the way to the FIRST brick platform you came to. Now, go down the slope. Kill the enemies, avoid the pools, and snag all the powerups you need. When you reach the slope, run to the right and watch out for enemies. Kill them and go onto the next screen. This part is mostly a slope, so just continue upwards on it, watching out for powerups and enemies. Remember to high jump to see the powerups. Don't take ANY sword powerups, lest they be the Apocalypse Sword. In the next screen, kill the Lamia ASAP. Here, you'll find your final Apocalypse Sword powerup. Snag it, kill the spiders, and go right. Up the slope, and onto the floating platforms. As you make your way up, watch out for the whip maidens and reapers, and snag the powerups you want. At the top right, there is a platform with a gigas knight on it. Kill the knight and high jump to reach it. Head into the next screen. In the next screen, swing like crazy to kill the whip maiden, the reaper, and watch out for the spider that's going to come at you from the middle of the archway. Grab the magic if you need it, and head all the way to the right. It's here that you'll find the final boss. BOSS: Rogles Your best friend Rogles has two forms, both of which are easy if you know what you're doing. In Rogles' first form, he floats from side to side at the top of the screen while a dragon flies about the room bouncing from the sides of the screen. This is a lot simpler than it is. Since Rogles himself doesn't attack, dodge the dragon by running underneath it, and strike at Rogles when you get the chance. Another thing about the dragon is that it shoots small fireballs as it dives. It's easy to dodge them, so it's no problem. When Rogles transforms, it's your cue to be a bit more conservative in your fighting style. He'll do one of two things. He'll be floating through the air shooting blue-white rings in three directions, or he'll be standing on either side of the screen shooting huge energy waves. When he's in the air, stand beneath him, but off to the side. In the right place, which isn't hard to find, the rings will all sail past you. The only real trick here is predicting where Rogles will go next. Try to keep your place as he fires the rings, and just wait until he lands. When he lands, you'll be tempted to slide under his energy waves, but it's more harmful than good. Instead, find a place close to Rogles and crouch underneath the energy waves. Don't fire as they pass over you, or you'll get hurt. Fire between his shots, and as he begins to charge them up. Killing Rogles doesn't earn you a Phantasm Jewel, but the ending is a good start. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 4. Items Recap Magic Jewels - Blue and gold jewels that recharge your magic. The larger the jewel, the more magic it restores. Heart - Items that restore your health. Big hearts recharge more than small ones. Phantasm Jewel - 6 jewels that grant Yuko new magic. Obtained when bosses are defeated. Swordshot - The first projectile weapon Yuko can fire with. Not too powerful, but useful when you're starting out. Its first level fires one ball, the second level first two, and the third level fires two shots forward, one upwards, and one downwards. Lazershot - Probably the third strongest weapon in the game. Its first level fires one laser forward, the second level fires two lasers, and level three fires two shots forward, and one backwards. Arrowshot - Not strong, but able to fire in large volleys. Homes in on targets and is useful for range. Its first level fires two arrows, and each level adds more arrows to it. Holy Sword - Incredible range and power. Its first two levels fire a shot forward (Level 2 is larger). Level three fires a shot forward and upwards. An incredibly useful weapon for the Dark Valis Warrior, as well as other enemies who tend to dive at you from above. It's also incredible for dogfights because you can shoot like crazy at your targets. Apocalypse Sword - Just when you think the Holy Sword had everyone beat, along comes the Apocalypse Sword. It fires a twirling projectile that explodes after it travels a certain distance. It is extremely powerful, and can be fired in quick volleys, much like the Arrowshot and Holy Sword. A dream in swords. Each level causes the projectile to make a much bigger explosion. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 5. Bosses Recap Earth Quaker - Hit him as he appears. - High jump as he raises his hands and does his Earthquake attack. - Land when he shoots his rocks. Shoot back at him. - Jump over him as he rolls across the screen and repeat. Ice Harpy - Hit her as she appears in the top right. - Stay beneath her as she sails across the screen to the left. Jump and hit her as you can. - She'll fire two orbs that then explode into feathers. They fly in eight directions. Stand to the left of the one that shoots straight down. - The Harpy will dive to the right. The moment you can, slide the same way the Harpy dives. You will be narrowly missed if you crouch after the slide. - When the Harpy dives to the left, stay crouched to avoid another hit. - Hit her as much as you can and repeat. Fire Sabra - Hit her as she appears, and stand close to her. She'll rise upwards and kick at a 45 degree angle. If you're close enough, she'll sail over you. - Jump over her fire beam and shoot her like crazy. Move in close, as she'll jump kick again. Repeat this pattern. Windbubble Wizard - Shoot him as he appears. - When he raises into the air, run under him to keep him from stopping in the middle of the screen. - If he stops, two tornadoes from outside the screen are coming. High jump to avoid them. - When he lands on the ground, he'll fire two boomerang weapons. When on the left, the boomerangs can be dodged if you land between them. When on the right, they can be dodged just by clearing them with a high jump. Hydra - Arm your TORNADO magic. - Try to stay out of the range of the heads, but close enough to hit them. - Kill them as fast as you can, or you'll get hit too many times by their GIGA THUNDER attack. - To help you out, hit them with TORNADO, then get the magic powerup in the top left section of the screen. Cast TORNADO again, if it will hit. Otherwise, pelt it with QUAKE. Dark Valis Warrior - As she drops down to her place, slide all the way to the left. - Stand your ground at the edge of the screen firing away at her. - Stay on the ground as much as you can, standing underneath her as she jumps over you. - When she powers up for her DEATH FLASH, hit her like crazy. Rogles Form 1: - Try to stand underneath the dragon as it flys towards you. Don't stand in its path so you can dodge the fireballs. Jump to hit Rogles. The dragon is invincible. Form 2: - When Rogles is in the air, try to stand to the edge of his foot when he stops moving. Doing this will allow you to dodge the rings he shoots. When he lands, crouch to duck his energy waves. Shoot between his shots to hit him without being slammed by his energy. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 6. Conclusion So ends this FAQ.
