Indroduction 2. The Walkthrough 3. Item List 4. Weapon List 5. Monster List 6. Boss List 7. Version info -------------------------------- ********************* * 1. Introduction * ********************* If you've seen the show, then obviously you play Xena, the warrior princess. The game is similar to Zelda in which you go and talk to people and kill monsters. The graphics and music are awful and the gameplay is somewhat slow but hey, if you're a fan of Xena or RPG (but mostly because of Xena), it's fun to play. Seeing that there's only one walkthrough, I wanted to submit a walkthrough by an actual fan of the show :) -------------------------------- ********************* * 2. Walkthrough * ********************* ---------------------------- | Swamp and Bear's Territory | ---------------------------- You start of in a swamp and Salmoneus (Why Sal? And not some priest dude, I wouldn't know) come and tell you that you're in Psychosia, a dream world and you need to get out (That sounds like The Dreamworker episode). And he tells you get to get a sword. Once he leaves, head left to the "Bear's Territory" and then go near the water (but don't fall in or you'll die!) and you will find the sword. Take sometime to chop those grass and flowers. You will find diamonds which will allow you to save the game. Once you're done chopping flowers, head up to a wooden bridge. Salmoneus is there waiting for you. He tells you there's something precious where the fates live. -------------- | Great Forest | -------------- Continue up and you'll enter the Great Forest. Watch for the bunnies... you need to kill them (Remember In Sickness and In Hell? Those killer bunnies are here!). Head up, then left until you see this Fairy (who looks like a man for some reason) and she tells you the Fairy needs help because the passage is closed and they live west of the Maze. Find a tree that is a lighter green colour. Chop it and you'll get Magic Gloves. Head left to the Beehive Clearing. In the Great Forest and the Beehive Clearing, it is a good time to get some diamonds. ------------------ | Beehive Clearing | ------------------ There isn't much here but getting pots of honey. You need to give that to the bear in Bear's Territory. And it will allow you to pass into the Fates' Retreat. -------------- |Fates' Retreat| -------------- Walk all the way to the end and you'll talk to the Fates. The fates will tell you that inorder to get into the Maze you will need some Magic Gloves. Head left and break the round board as well as the fire place (with the sword) and you will get your Chakram! (However, the game spells it with "Shakram." ICK!!!) Return to the Great Forest and head north to the Maze. -------------- | Maze | -------------- Chop those mushroom and you'll find a big diamond (3 diamonds). Use the Magic Gloves to move the rocks. Go in the maze and chop the mushroom, you will find diamonds, boots. Before entering the Maze, move those rocks and you will find a heart. Enter the Maze. It's not that hard. You'll figure it out. Head left to go to Fairies' Den. -------------- | Fairies' Den | -------------- Talk to the Fairies and they'll tell you that their Queen, Lalala (what a lame name!) is captured by the Harpies and you need to save her in Forest of Stones. You can kill the fairies for diamond and hearts (It beats paying 3 diamonds for one heart). You will also get a Conch Shell in those mushrooms. Head back to the Maze and head up to the Forest of Stones. ---------------- |Forest of Stones| ---------------- Equip your sword and Chakram. You need to find rocks with a marking on it and slash it in this order: a circle + a triange + a 'X' + a triangle. The triangles are located in both lower left and right corner. While the circle is located in the top left corner. And the 'X' is located in middle top. Once you find them, you will find the trapped fairy, Lalala, in the top right corner. There is a hole in the bottom right corner just above the triangle. It's just a shortcut. She tells you that the harpies are teleporting her and you should go to the fairies (in Fairies' Den) to get more info. -------------- | Fairies' Den | -------------- In the Fairies' Den, one fairy will give you info for 5 diamonds. Another fairy will tell you there's a very good healer but with a price of 50 diamonds. And one will tell you how to find Lalala, a barbarian village behind the Heart of the Volcano. Head right pass the maze and into the Heart of the Volcano. -------------------- |Heart of the Volcano| -------------------- Equip your Chakram when entering... watch for the devils. Once you've killed the Red Harpies, put on the Salemander boots (you must press the boot button or else you'll get hurt). If you head all the way to the right, you will get 5 diamonds as well as a heart container. Once finished lead right until you see a sleeping turtle. It will ask if you want a ride across the river (for the price of 5 diamonds). Say yes and you will be on its back. If you chop the board/sign, there is an extra heart container. Then head up to the Top of the Volcano -------------------- | Top of the Volcano | -------------------- Get to the top and go into the lava in the middle and you'll be in Great Death. -------------------- | Great Death | -------------------- Once you get in, get ready to jump or you'll be flattened by a roller ball. Get the spring and jump over it. Make your way to the buttom of the volcano and you meet the Wasp Boss (See Boss List). Once the wasp is dead you'll be in the Barbarian's Village. -------------------- |Barbarian's Village | -------------------- Time to restore all your health and save your game. Kill those barbarians. And go into those houses to get more information. Talk to the kid and the kid will tell you go talk to the Chief. He is just south of the kid you talked to. In the Chief's hut, he is not happy to see you after all you've done (same old story) and tells you they lack food. In the bottom of the village there is a witch. Talk to her and she'll request you bring back a smelly fish. But if you talk to the fisherman, he doesn't have any fish. Remember one of the fairies that said "a very good healer for 50 diamonds?" He is in this village. Once you've gathered enough information head to hut with the shortcut. The hut lies just east of the Merchant who apparently can't sell you anything. Ok, let's take a ride on some carts. It's easier to take the higher path because the lower path has more short tracks. (I didn't know there were carts back then...) -------------------- | Centaurs' Village | -------------------- You've finally made it to the Centaur's Village. Don't go up to the Centaurs, they can hurt you like the Barbarians Now walk North East and there will be a yellow coloured person. Talk to her. It's the Farmer's wife and she'll give you a lock of her hair. The yellow flowers here have diamonds. There's a shop but all the person there does is to heal you for 3 diamond. Head all the way west to Devil's Bridge. -------------------- | Devil's Bridge | -------------------- Once you're there, DO NOT head back because you cannot head back to Centaurs' Village. If you do, you'll end up in Bear's Territory and if you go south from there, you're at Rapid Runs. Go into your inventory and select spring for one of the button. Go down the ladder to observe the logs movement. Once you feel the rate of the log moving back and forth then go back up and jump off the bridge. Dont try the ladder because it's easier to just fall off the bridge and land on the logs. Make your way across the river and watch for falling nuts. Just get ready to attack a walking plant when you reach the end. And watch for falling nuts as you make your away cross. -------------------- | Syrup Island | -------------------- Talk to the first person there. Collect the syrup and watch for scorpians. If you hack and slash the bushes, you will find diamond and a heart container in the west end. Once you collected all the syrup (there are about 7 or 8 pots). Head for a black hole that's just northwest of the Indian you talked to when you arrived. It's a shortcut. Equip the spring too. It's a good idea to save before you continue. You are now underwater and you have only 120sec to get across this underwater cave. Don't touch the jellyfish and just swim. This place is not only just timed, you will also run out of oxygen. Luckily, there are places you can come up for air. If you ignore the jellyfish and get hurt... you should have about 15 sec left when you reach the end. Note: While underwater, you're will naturally rise up... ------------------------- | The inbetween Village | ------------------------- Put on the Boots and head north to the Top of the Volcano and it's the Great Death again. Equip the Chakram before moving on... Because you fight the wasp again... Once the wasp is defeated you're back in the Barbarian Village. You can find the healer and give him the lock of hair. By the way, you owe the healer 50 diamonds... and now it's back to the shortcut to the fisherman's wife. It's back to the shortcut again... Now go back to the Farmer's house. It's just northwest of the shop if you forgot. The Farmer's not home but he's at the barn. So, head southeast to a hut by the river. The farmer give you the leather apron. Go and return it to the blacksmith and he gives you some shears. Go to the top of the Centaurs Village and snip the chain off. Once you're done, head back to the hole and ride the cart backward to Barbarian Village. Once at the Barbarian Village talk to the fisherman. Equip the fish and go find the witch. She gives you the Elixir. Take that to the chief. Now you can go east of the village. -------------------- | Small Death | -------------------- They weren't very creative with their areas, are they? It's another timed tunnel. Now you have 240sec to get across this Small Death. At the buttom of the ladder there's an extra heart. If you are low on health, what you can do is grab the heart and go back to Barbarian Village and kill some barbarians - some may have hearts. In Small Death, near the top of the cave there are 2 time and 1 heart. I would recommend you to get this because the heart will come in handy if you're low on health when you fight the boss. Once you get through this, you will finally reach the boss - Eye Boss. When you beat it, you will get a heart! And an opening opens up on the north side. -------------------- | Temple | -------------------- Once you're in the temple, it says "you need to relight the torch!" DO NOT touch the priest. Yes, they will hurt you. Go to the top and slash the big head statue. It tells to make sure the torch is working. Give each of the demon statue a few good hacks. Once that's done a stair opens up beside the big head statue. -------------------- | Darphus' Lair | -------------------- Put on the book and get ready to walk on the lava pit. Head all the way north and Darphus will be waiting. He even shots fireballs at you before you even fight (I don't remember Darphus having those kinds of power) so, just launch the chakram even before you see him. You will hear this "click" sounds if it's right. This is your chance to get to the left side or right side of him. Once you get to either side, his fireballs are easy to dodge. He takes about 15-20 hits. Once you beat him, head to the stairs on the east side. -------------------- | Barbarian Village | -------------------- Back to the Barbarian Village (again). You can now actually talk to the barbarians. They tell you to see the Fates. SO, back to the shortcut and off to the Centaurs Village. Head back West and to Devil's Bridge and if you remember before I told you not to go back because you will go back to Bear's Territory. Now you need to use that route to get to the fates. -------------------- | Bear's Territory | -------------------- Head west to the Fates Retreat and they will tell you to bring them the Lyre of Time. They said Joxer stole it. Head north to Great Forest and in the Northeast corner of the Great Forest and you'll see Joxer. Chase him and touch him and he'll disappear and you will get the lyre. If you talk to them again... they sound like they're annoyed with you. Take the lyre back to the fates. They will take the curse off the Centaurs' Village. Now you need to head back the Maze and to Forest of Stones. Slash the signs again and touch the symbols and the wall will open up for you. Head up to the tree and climb it. -------------------- | Giant Tree | -------------------- This is a upward scroll and don't fall off the tree! Don't forget to equip the spring! You should equip the chakram and the spring. There are vines for you to climb up. Once you get all the way up, you fight the Harpies Boss. Once you beat him, the fairies thanks you for saving her. She tells you to head to the swamp. -------------------- | Fairies' Den | -------------------- Now you head back to Fairies' Den and talk to the fairy in green. He opens a portal for you. It's another shortcut. Equip the spring and jump your way through! You only have 25 sec to get across this shortcut! And you'll find your way in the Great Forest where there's a Green Fairies. Go South to Bear's Territory and East to the Swamps. -------------------- | Swamps | -------------------- Talk to the Green Fairy. Equip the spring because you'll be doing more jumping. -------------------------------- ********************* * 3. Boss List * ********************* 1) Wasp Boss - in Great Death Strategy: This is not too hard to kill just keep hitting the end of it. Use sword and chakram. Your chakram is your best weapon since you can control where it goes. Attacks: It will shot out one wasp at a time and occaionally it will come down and try to sting you. 2) Eye Boss - in Small Death Strategy: Keep your distance and use your chakram if you're low on health. The sword is only useful if you have health you can spare. The chakram will keep the eye at a distance. Attacks: Chases after you and from time to time will shoot out red balls. 3) Harpy Boss - in Giant Tree Strategy: The pattern of the Harpy Boss is a sideway figure 8. So, it's easy to dodge the up and down movement of the harpy. Use your sword to slash away the spider-like thing that's hanging. Once you get ride of the spiders. You can now use your chakram against the Harpy's head. Don't do anything fancy with the chakram. Just let it fly straight and catch it and throw again because if you don't take this time to get as many hit again the head, the spider returns. Attacks: Hanging spiders, if you're underneath you will be hurt. Spiders will come back to protect the head. -------------------------------- ********************* * 7.
