He's planning to build a Dr. Eggman Empire by kidnapping the animals and turning them into robots. This time, he's also kidnapped Knuckles and Tails. "Dr. Eggman, you fiend! I'm coming after you to rescue my pals!" Off speeds Sonic on a new adventure to find his friends and stop the scientist's despicable plot. ******************************* 3: Characters ******************************* Sonic the Hedgehog: Sonic is the world's fastest supersonic hedgehog! He's basically carefree, but he can't stand evil. He can be short tempered, but it would go against his kind nature not to help someone in trouble. Cream the Rabbit: Cream is an adorable rabbit that takes her tiny Chao "Cheese" wherever she goes. She can act a little childish at times, but tries hard at everything she does, and never forgets her manners. She can fly by flapping her ears like wings. Knuckles the Echidna: Knuckles is Sonic's friend and rival. With his enormous strength and spiked fists he packs a powerful punch and can climb walls easily. He is brave of heart and strong willed, but sometimes can be a little gullible. Tails the Fox: Miles "Tails" Prower is a gentle fox with two tails, and dreams of being just like Sonic. He loves tinkering with machinery, and sometimes builds robots to help his hero. He can fly by spinning his tails like helicopter blades. Amy Rose: Amy is a cheerful and peppy hedgehog who has decided she is going to be Sonic's girlfriend. She may be cute, but her Piko Piko Hammer makes her a formidable foe. Dr. Eggman (aka Dr. Robotnik): Without a thought for anybody else, this evil genius is always hatching plots to take over the world. His plans are always foiled by Sonic, but he never learns his lesson. ******************************* 4: Controls ******************************* Common Actions: D-Pad Left or right: Move left or right. To enter one, collect all 7 SP Rings in an ACT and complete it. It doesn't matter what Act you get the SP Rings in, but it matters what ZONE you're in. In the Special Stages, you have 2 minutes to get 300 rings. The red and black circles are worth 5 rings. If you collectrings at a constant rate, the multiplier will begin. Keep collecting more rings to increase the multiplier. If you stop collecting rings, the multiplier goes back down and you have to build it back up again. I think the maximum is 9x. ******************************* 7: Walkthrough & SP Ring Locator ******************************* When you start the game for the first time, you can only pick Sonic. You can unlock the others later. The setup for this game is different. The developers make it seem like you are in a race. You begin behind a post, and the timer counts down from 3. After the words "START!" appear on the screen, then the level (and timer) start. You can't skip this part. Acts with an (SP) mark after them contain directions to get all the SP Rings. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ Leaf Forest: Act 1 (SP) $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ Start by going right. Jump off the ramp to make it to the next ledge, then jump across the pit. Jump over the spikes, then jump on top of the loop. Grind the rail to obtain SP RING 1. When you see another rail, don't grind it. Instead, jump below it. Use the blue spring and the UP+R trick to reach SP RING 2. Get off the spring, and take the middle path (has a monkey robot on it), go through a loop, a twisted bridge, then stop. Go back to the twisted bridge, and fall below it to get SP RING 3. Go back to the top, go right, jump over the pit, and go through a big loop to get SP RING 4. Go through a twisted bridge, hit a speed booster, go through 2 loops, hit a spring, hit the Checkpoint, and then run across the water to get SP RING 5. Grind a rail, hit a spring go through a loop, and land on a lever. Jump off it, and land on the ground below. Go right, through a loop, then jump onto the next ledge (while avoiding the spikes), hit the spring, then use the UP+R trick, then immediately hold Left to reach the ledge with the ramp. Use that ramp to get on top of the big loop. Go right, grind the rail, then jump and land on the launcher. Use that to reach the next ledge. Go through a loop, and use the ramp to get on top of another loop. Use the spring to get SP RING 6. Jump off the loop, and then go through it. Make sure you don't enter Boost Mode, or you'll miss the next ring. Jump off the ramp, and you should run quickly into SP RING 7, then on a rail. Keep going right for the exit. When you make it past the goal post, hold the Left button to slow yourself down. The closer you are to the post, the more points you get. Also, the faster you go through the post, the more points you get. If you have all the SP Rings in the Act, you can't stop. Orange= 800 Blue= 500 Red= 100 Past Red= O $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ Leaf Forest: Act 2 $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ Start off by heading right, and when you're given a choice to take the top or bottom path, take the bottom one because it is the one that will be covered here. So, continue going right, jump over the spikes, and continue towards the ramp. Take the ramp to a ledge with a monkey in a tree. Keep going right, pass through a loop, go through the twisted bridge, hit the spring, then grind the rail. Continue right, and you should gain enough speed to jump off the ramp (shaped like a ski jump), and land on top of a loop. Continue going right, and go through another twisted bridge (this one has a drop), and go through a big loop. Hit the spring, and you should land near a Checkpoint. Go past it, and go right. Go off another ski jump ramp, and land near a ? Box. Hit it, and go left. Hit the spring to get to the speed booster to grind the rail. Go through another loop, then a second one after it, and then run up a vertical wall. You now should be on top of the wall you just ran up. Go right, jumping over a pit, and then jump on a launcher to reach the top. Go right through another twisted bridge (this one also has a drop), hit a spring to go through another loop, and then go through a second one after it, and jump off the ramp. Keep moving right, and go through a big loop with no top. Take another ramp, and go right until you reach the exit. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ Leaf Forest Boss: Egg Hammer Tank II $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ This boss is very easy: Avoid the hammer and hit the tank 7 times to destroy it. You will see that in the fist, he is holding a rabbit (Cream). Once you beat the boss, you will see a movie-like sequence where Cream thanks Sonic, Sonic runs off, and Cream goes to look for her mom. You can now quit the game and choose Cream as a playable character, but you can't unlock anyone with her. %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% Hot Crater: Act 1 (SP) %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% Go right, use the handrail, but jump off so you land on top of a loop. Hit the speed booster, jump off the ramp and land on the top ledge. Go right until you see SP RING 1. Go back and jump off the ledge, and get on the lowest part of the level. Hit a spring and avoid the rail. Go through 2 loops, and land in a pit with a turtle and a handrail. Take the handrail, and jump off as you start to decline. Hold left to reach a secret room holding SP RING 2 (If you miss, use one of the 2 turtles below to reach the room). Go right, hit the spring, jump off the ramp, hit the speed booster, go through a loop, and hit a spring. After you land, go left to get SP RING 3. Go right, and grind a rail. Don't press A when you jump off, or you'll miss the hook that leads to the speed booster. Once you reach the speed booster, jump over it, and kill the enemy, then hit the speed booster. As you are running, hold right, or you won't make it to the ledge with SP RING 4. Jump down from the ledge and go through the loop. When you reach the handrail, don't get on it, jump off it and go down a hole. After a few seconds, you will reach the hook that gets you SP RING 5. Hold right so you land on the next ledge, and go right. Go through a tube, then a loop. After the loop, hold right so you reach the hook that sends you through a metal ring, which sends you to a ledge that has SP RING 6. Go right, through a loop, hit a speed booster, go through another loop, and then hit the Checkpoint. Go through the metal ring, hit a speed booster, go through a loop, then jump on the gray ramp, grind the rail, jump over some spikes, and grind a rail. Jump on the hook and land on the ledge. Jump over the spikes, grind a rail, and then jump off a ramp that takes you to SP RING 7. Grind the rail, but don't land on top of the loop; instead, let yourself fall to the bottom. Go through a loop, hit the speed booster, go through another loop, grind the rail, and then get to the exit. %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% Hot Crater: Act 2 %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% Go right, hit the ramp, and grind the rail. Use the hook (if you need to) to reach the ledge. Avoid the enemy and go right. Hit the speed booster, grind the rail, hit another speed booster, and land on a 3rd rail. Hit a spring, avoid the enemy, and go right. Hit the ramp, then go back for a speed booster so you can go through the loop. Use the spring, avoid the enemy, and grind the rail. Fall past a rail (don't get on it), fall to the bottom, and go right. Hit a spring, and go left through a loop. Hit the speed booster to grind up the rail. After that, hit a spring, and go to the highest ledge with a spring on it. Hit the spring and grind the rail. Go past the Checkpoint and continue going right. Fall below the next rail and go through the loop. Use the floating turtle to reach another rail. Go through a loop and land on a rail. Hit the speed booster, and go through four loops, jump off the ramp, and land on the rail. Fall down, and make your way to the booster. After the tunnel and loop, another booster awaits you, and then, springs and a ramp. Grind the rail, get an SP Ring, and grind another rail. The end is shortly after. %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% Hot Crater Boss: Egg Bomber Tank %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% This boss launches bombs at you. First, you have to destroy the cannon before attacking the main part. The cannon takes 8 hits before it is destroyed. The main tank now shoots out bombs randomly. The tank takes 4 hits before it explodes. You don't unlock anyone with this boss. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Music Plant: Act 1 (SP) !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Go right, hit a spring that sends you into another spring, then use Up + R to hit the purple note, and use that to get to the ledge with the colored blocks. Go right, but when you reach a diagonal spring, jump over it to get SP RING 1. Then, fall to the lowest part of the level, and go through a tube. If you can, use the notes go right, but if you fall, hit a speed booster, jump off a ramp, and land on some colored blocks. Use those to reach a spring, which sends you to a trampoline line. Wait until you bounce high enough to reach the ledge (not the one with the speed booster), go left, and use the next trampoline line to get SP RING 2. Once you bounce high enough to go past the black staff, go right, and stay as high as you can. Grind a rail, then when you land, jump over some spikes and grind the next rail. Use the enemy's shell to get SP RING 3. Go back to the bottom, jump over any springs and speed boosters you see, go right, then into a tube. Go right, into a spring pit, then into a second spring pit. Stay right so you end up in a hallway. Hit the spring to get SP RING 4. Take the bottom path, go through a tube, and take the bottom path again (don't use the trampoline line). Hit the Checkpoint, hit a spring, and go through another tube. When the tube throws you out, let yourself hit the springs. Then, go left and drop down the pit. Keep going left until a spring sends you right. Soon, you will find notes and 2 spring pits. Use the second spring pit to reach a secret passage that leads to SP RING 5. Get to the top (past the notes), and go right. Go through a tube, hit a speed booster, jump off a ramp, and use the spring farthest to the right to get to the top. You will soon se a spring, then a ledge with a diagonal spring and a vertical spring. Get over both of those, and use the next spring to get SP RING 6. Jump down, and hold right so you hit a blue spring that gets you to a ledge with some tubes. Jump into one, and land on the bottom path, where you will go right. Run up a wall, land on the ledge, and then jump to the next ledge (avoid the enemy), and then jump down. If you land in the clarinet, go left to get SP RING 7. Using the clarinet, get to the springs, use them to get to the rail, and get to the exit. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Music Plant: Act 2 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Start by going right, and after a while, go through a tube. Go through the piano keys, jump over spikes into a spring pit, and land on a ledge that shows the end of a rail. As you go right, the trail goes backwards and goes left into piano keys. Then after that, a spring sends you right. Jump on the colored blocks to reach a ledge, and keep going right. Hit a spring, which sends you up a wall, and up past the ledge. Once you land back on the ledge, go right, grind a rail, and use the colored blocks to reach a spring. Once you hit the spring, go left into the little passage. Hit the speed booster grind the rail, hit the spring, bounce on the trampoline line, and land on the ledge. Enter the pipe, and use the trampoline line to reach the spring to get to the ledge. Jump over the ramp and land go right. You will fall in a spring pit. Jump over the spikes and land on the lowest piece of ground. Run into the springs and land on the ledge. Use the holes to get over the spikes. Hit the spring and go through a tube. Land on the bottom most part, and continue going right. Hit another spring, jump over the black holes, and keep going left. Hit a spring, which sends you into a pit of springs, jump over the enemy, and land on the edge with the booster. If you don't make it, a spring below it will help. Hit the speed booster, and go into a tube. Once you land on a long platform, jump off and land on the area below. Enter a tube, and instead of going anywhere, just fall to the bottom, and continue going right. Run up a wall, to the Checkpoint. Go right, hit a spring, and jump off a ramp. Use the spring pit to reach the ledge. Fall to the bottom, and use the spring. Fall into another spring pit, reach the ledge, and go right. Jump over the next spring you see, and keep going until you reach more tubes. Use the colored blocks to get on a rail. Go right, and then use the spring. Use the piano keys to reach the top. Continue going right, jump on a ledge, and enter a tube. Drop to the bottom, and go right. Use the springs to reach the colored blocks to reach the next ledge. Use the speed booster, run up a wall, use the springs, and keep going right. The exit is close by. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Music Plant Boss: Egg Totem !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! For this boss, Eggman drives a car with an arm to hold Tails (arm will disappear once you free him) and 3 spiked disks. If you touch the outside of the disks, you get hurt. So, you have to jump on the disks to jump on top of Eggman to hurt him. The disks have small cannons that shoot at you, but they pop up once on a while and take a few hits to destroy. Eggman takes 8 hit to beat. After that, you rescue Tails. @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ Ice Paradise: Act 1 (SP) @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ Go right, jump off a ramp, grind a rail, run up the wall, grind another rail, and jump off the ramp to make to the next ledge. Hit the spring to get over the loop, and then go left through the loop and land on the lever. If you time it right, you can jump backwards and get SP RING 1. Fall to the bottom, go right, jump over a pit, and get SP RING 2. Jump down, slide down the ice, jump off a ramp, hit a speed booster, and then hit a diagonal spring that sends you into another speed booster. Hit another spring that sends you into a rail, hit the spring, and take the bottom path (DON'T GRIND THE RAIL). Grind another rail, and then run up to reach the lever. Jump to the right, which has a ledge with SP RING 3. Go right, jump on the platform, and use the spring to grind the rail. After the rail, you'll be on a lever. Jump to the ledge on the right, and then grind a rail, and HOLD RIGHT so you will make it to the next rail. Jump over some spikes, and land on the spring that leads to SP RING 4. After you fall, don't hit the vertical spring; jump off the ledge to the left, and you will land on a rail, but jump off to the left. Go right SLOWLY. Soon, you will see a ball with 3 openings. If you enter fast, you will go up. If you enter slowly, you will fall. So, enter the ball slowly so you fall on some ice. After the ice, jump on the platform, then onto the ledge which has SP RING 5. Grind the rail, hit the Checkpoint, jump off a ramp, and land on the ledge (a lever is there if you don't make it). Hit the speed booster, go through 2 loops, and then hit a spring with an enemy. Drop down to land on a slide. Use the lever to reach the next ledge. SP RING 6 is hovering over the next slide. While you are on the slide, jump into the metal rings, and then hit a spring that sends you to a slide in the air. Once you land, ignore the rail and go right. Go through a loop, then through a tube, and use a speed booster that sends you to a spring, and the spring sends you into a rail. Use the spring and rod to reach the next ledge. You will hit a lever. Jump onto the ledge, and use the spring to go through the loop, and then slide. Use the next spring to reach a rail, and then hit a spring to reach another rail, with SP RING 7 hovering above it (use Up + R to get it). Grind the rail, slide down the ice, and get to the exit. @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ Ice Paradise: Act 2 @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ Go right, jump off the ramp, run up the wall, and get the shield. Go right, hit a spring that sends you into a lever, and jump in the slide. Jump off, and take the top path if you want an invincibility box. Go through the loop, then through another, then into a speed booster. Hit the spring, grind the rail, run up the wall into another spring, and use it to reach the top ledge. Get the box, hit the spring, and grind the rail. You will go through a series of springs before you land on ice. Jump off the lever onto the ground, and go right. Take the loop, run up the wall, and jump off the ramp onto a spring. Go on top of the loop, and then go left to get off of it, and then go left to go through it. Slide down the ice, and land near the bottom. Keep going right, up the wall, and into a little passage. When you exit the passage, you will land on a spring. After you land, go right, and use the springs to reach the top, where you will go right, and slide down the ice. Then, run down the hill, go through a tunnel, hit a spring, and jump off the ramp onto the ledge. Jump off another ramp, and hit the speed booster. Slide down the ice, hit another speed booster, and run to the exit. @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ Ice Paradise Boss: Aero Egg @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ Eggman has a little floating car that has a platform attached to it, and it drops bombs. You need to jump on the platform to hit Eggman. Then the platform goes down for a short period of time. Sometimes, the platform goes down by itself. Eggman goes down after 8 hits. &&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&& Sky Canyon: Act 1 (SP) &&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&& Start by jumping off the ramp and using Up + R to reach the next ledge, then jump to the next ledge, jump over some spikes, and go right. Hit the speed booster and run across the pipes. Soon, you will see a metal ring in the air. Use Up + R when you are off the pipe to reach the metal ring. After the second ring, use Up + R to reach the bouncy platform, which has SP RING 1 on it. Jump off the tower, and go right. Go through a loop, jump off a ramp, and land on the ledge. This next part is tricky because at the end of the ledge you are on, there are spikes, and on the next ledge are rising and falling spikes, and if you miss or get hit, you will fall. So, back up a little, do a spin dash, and jump over the first set of spikes and land on the next ledge (if the spikes are up, hold right so you don't fall). Avoid the next set of spikes facing you, and jump to the next ledge. A fan will send you down into a larger fan. Continue going right, hit the spring, hit the Checkpoint, and go right. Grind the rail, hit the speed booster, and hold right so you hit a spring that sends you left. Grind the rail, go through a loop, and soon, you will hit a fan that sends you left, but the small fan sends you right. What you want to do is, once you are being re-directed by the small fan, go right, jump over the medium sized fan, and land on the ledge below. Another small fan sends you to SP RING 2 and a spring. Use the spring to reach the highest rail, and go right. Hit a spring, and go to the ledge on the left, where you will hit a spring that sends you through a loop. You will hit 2 more springs, and then a third spring will send you through another loop. Soon, a gust of wind will send you up. Ignore the bouncy platforms for now, and go right. Go through 2 loops, and you will grab onto a fan (has a handle on it and rises), which leads to a tower with SP RING 3. Jump to the left (off the tower), then jump past the fan, and go left through a loop, and a fan will send you up. Go left and you will see another fan. Jump lightly into this fan, and it should send you up to SP RING 4. You will land on a large fan; head left while avoiding the spikes. The springs will send you through the whirlwind; this time, take the bouncy platforms. Jump off the ramp, and use the spring to enter a hidden passage on in the wall. Take the whirlwind, and land on a ledge with SP RING 5. Go right, through a loop, and a fan will send you right, toward a trampoline spring. When you bounce high enough, go left. Soon, you will find a bridge of bouncy platforms. Keep going left, and avoid the ledge with the rising and falling spikes (note: when the spikes are up, start going left. When you reach the ledge, the spikes will be gone), and keep going left. This next part is hard: There are moving blocks, and if you don't get to the second block quickly, you will be squished. So, go when the first block is down, and then quickly jump to the second block. Jump to the third block when it starts to go down. Jump to the tower to get SP RING 6. Jump off the tower and go right. A fan will send you up; keep going right. Go through a loop, jump off a ramp, and a fan will eventually send you right. Hit the spring, go through the loop, and go through the spring series. A fan and 2 springs will keep you going through a loop; when the fan sends you right, stop, jump over the fan, and go left. A small fan will send you right, and the medium fan will send you up into a whirlwind. Use the bouncy platforms and go right. Soon, a fan will send you up to a ledge with a speed booster. Instead, jump over the speed booster, and jump on the upside down tube. Go slowly to reach SP RING 7. Go back to the speed booster, hit it, and get to the exit. &&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&& Sky Canyon: Act 2 &&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&& Go right, run up the tube, and hit the spring. Next, ignore the rings and hit the speed booster because if you don't, you will die. Trust me. So, run under the pipe, hit the springs, and jump off the ski jump ramp. Take the bottom path. Jump over the pit, and jump off the ramp. Continue through a loop, then jump off another ramp with a spring, grind rail, and a SP Ring. Hit the spring, grind up the rail, and use the next spring to continue. Keep running until you hit a spring and make it on the ledge. SLOW DOWN! If you move to fast, you will die. First, go right until you see a moving block. Quickly jump on top of the block before it squishes you, and go right. Hit the speed booster, go through a fan (hold the Right D-Pad button), hit a spring, go through another fan, and head left. A small fan will stop you. So, go right into the fan, and it will send you up to bouncy platforms. Get the Magnet shield, and jump on more bouncy platforms. Go right, into a fan, and then go left. Keep going left or right, depending where the fans blow you. Eventually, jump over the pit, hit the Checkpoint, hit the spring, and take the top rail. You will find another spring. This time, take the bottom rail. Keep going right, up the wall, through a loop, and then a fan will re-direct you to go left. Hit a spring, go up the quarter loop, and take the bottom path. Hit the spring, get the 5 rings, avoid the enemy, hit another spring, take the fan, and run into the small fan. The fan tells you to go left, where the other fan is. The bigger fan will now send you up. While you're in the air, go left. Hit the speed booster, and grind the rail (don't take the top path). Hit the spring, and you will end up in a room filled with bouncy platforms. If you fall, you will die, so be careful. It's pretty simple; once you reach the top, head right. Go right; hit the spring, which sends you through a series that leads to the exit. &&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&& Sky Canyon Boss: Egg Saucer &&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&& Knuckles controls the machine instead of Eggman (when you play as Sonic for the first time). Second, it has 3 different parts. Third, the hand can deliver 1 hit kills, even if you have rings. To kill him, simply jump on the glass part of the machine (where Knuckles/Eggman is). The hand can't be destroyed, but the laser can. Once you destroy the laser, the arm goes nuts, but he is easier to kill. The laser takes 4 hits to go down. Knuckles can take 8 hits to be destroyed. You can now play as Knuckles (as well as see him cry!). ############################### Techno Base: Act 1 ############################### We start this zone by going right, cross over the bridge (if it isn't there, wait for it or just jump down), hit the spring, and jump on the rightmost block. It will take you up. Jump over the spikes, and keep going until you hit a spring. Use it to get to the top, jump over the spikes, get the invincibility box, jump on the sphere, and go right. Soon, you will hit a spring. It will take you to a ledge, but you need to use the Up + R trick to get up there. Once you are up there, hit the spring, jump over the spikes, get the 5 Ring box, and keep going right. You will go through a series of springs, and hit a speed booster. Go left, up a wall, and you will go up really high. When you come back down, go right. Hit another spring, which sends you to a rail. Keep going right, jump off a ramp, grab a Magnet shield, and drop into the passage. Go right, and you will hit a spring. Continue going right, and you will find an area with 2 boxes, spikes, and an enemy. Take the rightmost box, hit another spring, and keep going right. Go through another spring series (the last one doesn't get you high enough to reach the ledge; use the Up + R trick to get there), and jump over the spikes and springs. Use the last spring to reach a grind rail. Keep running until you hit a Checkpoint. Drop into another passage, and a box will take you left. Keep going left, and you will enter another spring series, which sends you into a speed booster. Once you are done running up the wall. Hit the spring, go up the half loop, kill the enemy, and keep going right. Go through a loop, take the rightmost box when you find 2 more together, and you will land on a platform. Quickly jump off it, and keep going right. Fall down another passage, which leads to a box, which sends you to another box. Hit the green sphere, hit the speed booster, run up the wall, and take the bottommost path. Hit a speed booster, run up a wall, and hit a spring to grind a rail. Run up another wall, and use the spring at the top to reach a high ledge. Continue going right, hit a spring (use Up + R to reach the ledge), grind a rail, run through another spring series, and make it to the exit. ############################### Techno Base: Act 2 (SP) ############################### Go right, grind the rail, hit the spring, and land on a platform with SP RING 1 on it. Jump quickly onto the ledge, go right, and use the small box to reach a ledge with a spring. Jump over the spring, go right, run down a wall, into a metal ring, and land on a rail. Go right, and use the 2 springs to run up a wall, then into wall bumpers, and use the spring to get to a ledge with 2 large boxes and SP RING 2. Take the left box, hit the speed booster, and hit a spring to reach a ledge. Go through the metal ring, and use Up + R to get inside the small passage, where you will hit a speed booster. Jump off a ramp, get SP RING 3, and use the 2 green spheres to get to the next ledge. Run down the wall, and use the small box to get to the speed booster at the top ledge. Run up the ramp, collect SP RING 4, and then run down a wall. Hit the speed booster, and go left. Hit a spring, which sends you to another spring that sends you to a rail. Hit the spring to reach a ledge with an invincibility box, and hit the spring at the end of that ledge. Keep going right, and you will be running upside down. Jump to the ledge below you to get SP RING 5. Now, fall to the bottom, next to a rail. Ignore the rail, and jump past it to the floor below. Hit the spring, avoid the spikes, and wait for the green bridge to disappear. Then, fall below it and go right. Run down a wall, hit a spring, jump off a ramp, and use the wall bumpers to reach SP RING 6. Get into the little passage, use the box, and run up a wall until a green sphere sends you into some wall bumpers. Use the spring to grind the rail. Let yourself jump off automatically to get SP RING 7. Jump over some spikes, and use the spring to get to a platform (if you are going to fast, use Up + R to slow yourself down so you don't run off the platform and die). Jump off the platform to reach the exit. ############################### Techno Base Boss: Egg-Go-Round ############################### Eggman comes in with a ship with 4 platforms attached: 2 Gray and 2 Yellow. The Yellow platforms have spikes on them. The Grey ones rotate. When they rotate, you can't jump on them. The 4 platforms have little blue balls in the middle of them. When they turn Red, they are active. When they turn blue, they are normal. Under the cockpit, there is a little red hole. That shoots out 3 spike balls. 8 hits will eliminate him. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Egg Utopia: Act 1 (SP) +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Start by going right, but before you enter the passage, jump in front of the wall to get SP RING 1. Grind the rail, jump over some spikes, hitting a spring. Use Up + R to get to the out-of-reach lever, jump to the left, and continue. Hit the speed booster, and run into some spikes so you fall to the floor. Grind the rail, and use Up + R to reach the next ledge. Hit 2 springs, and then hit some more spikes to get to the floor, and go right. Grind the rail, go through the loop, and jump off the ramp onto a rod. Jump when you are parallel to SP RING 2. Go right, and use the spring and rods to cross the pit, and continue right. Fall onto the platform, and jump off when you see the rail to grind it. Use the spring to grind the bottom rail. After the rail, drop to the left, and jump on the lever to reach a ledge with SP RING 3. Jump off the ledge and go right. Soon, you will be on the ceiling. Keep going right until the gravity returns to normal. Use the spring and Up + R to get up higher to grab the rod, and jump off to the right. Hit the speed booster, jump of the ramp, and hit 2 springs, then go left. Go through the spring series, and then continue going right. Hit the speed booster, and then hit the spring to grind the rail. A machine will send you right. Go through a loop, hit 2 springs, and grab on to the overhead handrail. Once you crash into the spikes, go left for SP RING 4. Go right and jump off. Ignore the platform and turret, and let a speed booster send you to a rail. Once you land near a spring, don't use it; jump off to the left instead. Go left a little to hit a speed booster, and then go through the spring series. Grind the rail, hit 2 springs, go through a loop, and hit the Checkpoint. Drop into the passage onto the platform, and let the platform take you across the pit. Go right, get the invincibility (gravity will soon change), and continue right. When gravity turns normal, hit the 2 springs, run up a wall, and hit some spikes (that's what you needed the invincibility for), and land on a ledge with SP RING 5. Drop to the right, hit the speed booster, go through the loop, hit the spring (gravity will change; watch out for the spikes), and go right. After hitting a spring on the ceiling, gravity will be normal. Hit the diagonal spring, then hit a vertical spring (use Up + R to reach the next ledge), and go right. Enter the cannon, and fire when it is in the middle (the way it was before you entered it; press A to fire). Go right, gravity will change, and go through a loop. Gravity will be normal now. Go towards a spring, but don't hit it; instead, jump over it and land on a rail. Avoid the enemy while getting SP RING 6. Go right, and jump on the 2 platforms to get to a spring, which sends you to another spring, which sends you to a speed booster. Hit the speed booster, and go right (avoid the enemy on the ceiling), and hit the springs to get to where you want. Go right, run up a wall (hitting a speed booster along the way), and land near the end of a rail. Backtrack to the beginning of the rail, and hit the speed booster to grind the rail. You'll get SP RING 7 while grinding. Jump into the passage with a platform, and it will take you the ledge with the exit. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Egg Utopia: Act 2 +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Go right, ride the handrail (gravity will change a short time after). Soon, you will be propelled to a rail. After the rail, you will be propelled down, and you might hit an enemy. Anyway, go right, grind a rail, and take the bottom path. After gravity changes, grind a rail. A after the gravity changes back, take the bottom path, and continue. Soon, a spring will send you to a thruster. Take the thruster, jump over the spikes (use the box if you miss the ledge), hit the speed booster, Go through 2 springs, jump off the ramp, and use the rods to go right. Grind a rail, hit the spring, and keep going (the gravity will change soon). Keep going right, and a spring will send you to a rail. A thruster will send you into a spring series, and if you don't hold left or right when you are sprigged in that direction, you won't make it the next spring. After the series, you will be on a rail. Once you are off the rail, and are on the first rod, don't jump off the rod; let yourself slide down, hit the speed booster, and grind the rail. Hit a spring, and once you are going down, you will land on a rail. Jump off the rod once you land on it, and land on a thruster. You will land on another thruster, but jump off it, and go right to the Checkpoint. Use a thruster, hit a speed booster, run up a wall, go through a spring series, and jump into the orange ring. Once you land on the ledge, go right, jump over some spikes, and land on the platform. Land on the speed booster, run up the wall, and run into the spikes, then go right to ride the platform. Use the second spring to go up the loop, jump off the ramp, and use the next spring to go through the next loop, and go right. Use the springs that lead to a thruster. After the thruster, go through the loop, and use the ramp to reach a rail. After the rail, jump over the spikes, and grind the rail (gravity will change for you). Keep holding right so you will get to the spring under the rail. Use the spring, and go right to reach the ledge, jump up the step, and continue right. Run up the wall, hit the spring (which sends you into a thruster), and run to the exit. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Egg Utopia Boss: Egg Frog +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ First, let me tell you that you can change gravity by pressing Up and Down. You will need to do this. Eggman comes in with a frog-like machine, and he can move from ceiling to floor, and vice versa. If you are on the opposite floor that Eggman is on, he will shoot bombs at you. Sometimes, he will extend his legs out all the way, and do a random attack. It takes 9 hits to beat him. !@#$%^&*!@#$%^&*!@#$%^&*!@#$%^ Final Zone: XX !@#$%^&*!@#$%^&*!@#$%^&*!@#$%^ This final zone is a collection of all the bosses from this game, plus 1 final after. You can attack 3 main parts: The 2 hands, and the head. If you take out the hands, this boss is much easier. The head shoots a laser out of its eyes. Hitting the hands 6 times each destroys them. As you have noticed, the platforms raise up and down. If you ride them too long, the spikes will kill you. If you are Tails or Cream, you have the advantage, because Cream has Cheese to attack, the robot, and Tails can use his tails to attack the head. If you use the first platform, the boss is easy. Hit the head 8 times to beat it. Congratulations! Enjoy the ending! ExtraExtraExtraExtraExtraExtra True Area 53 ExtraExtraExtraExtraExtraExtra In order to gain access to this level, first you must get all the Chaos Emeralds as Sonic, and beat XX. Next, you must have Cream, Tails, and Knuckles beat XX. They don't need the Emeralds, only Sonic. Once you go to the Stage Select screen as Sonic, you'll see a bunch of red dots lead to a blue hole. Pick the blue hole (True Area 53), and you will see a sequence, leading up to Sonic turning into Super Sonic and flying up into space. Controls: A Button: Charge B Button: Charge D-Pad: Move When Eggman shoots the missiles out of the tail of the ship, charge them back at the cockpit, or the area around it. If you hit the tail, it won't do anything. Be careful of the freeze ray, as once he freezes you, he will suck you in and take 10 of your rings. He will also shoot projectiles at you (spike balls and fire balls), but you can only fire the missiles back at him. It takes 8 hit before he fires the missiles, then spins out of control, making him hard to hit. It only takes 4 more hits after that. Enjoy the final ending! ******************************* 8: Extras ******************************* Here's what you can unlock: Character 1: Tiny Chao Garden Character 2: Sound Test Character 3: Boss Mode in Time Attack Character 4: Amy Rose as playable character Keep in mind that you must beat the Final Zone (XX) as the character with all the Emeralds to unlock the features. Also, It doesn't matter which character you use to unlock these things. Character 1 doesn't have to be Sonic. It can be anyone. ******************************* 8A: Tiny Chao Garden ******************************* Controls: A Button: Pet Chao/move items/enter selection B Button: N/A D-Pad: Move cursor Start: Pause Select: N/A L Button: Bring up store R Button: N/A The Chao Garden has been upgraded since Sonic Advance 1: 1: The Chao can swim in the Lake 2: The Chao can fly around. 3: A new mini-game has replaced the Rock, Paper, Scissors mini-game 4: The Stamina Glitch has been fixed. The Stamina Glitch is when you raise your Chao's Stamina up to level 11, transfer it to Sonic Adventure 2: Battle, and try to raise the Stamina there. I think the Stamina stats get messed up; I have never had this problem, but I hear that it is fixed. 5: The Chao has Z's over its head while sleeping In the garden, there are many things you can buy for your Chao. You can buy: 1: Food to feed the Chao (to buy food, press the L Button and choose an item) The Chao food is different than the food in the Gardens in Sonic Adventure 2: Battle; they raise stats. So if you want to raise a Chao's stats quickly for getting Emblems in Sonic Adventure 2: Battle, then he Garden can help. Every food is different. Also, you can see a Chao's mood or how hungry it is. Do not feed it B. Do not let it sleep C. Do not pick the weeds D. Do not pet it After you do these things, leave your Chao alone (unless it talks, then press A to get rid of the speech bubble). Eventually, the music will change, there will be a speech bubble telling you that he is leaving, and he will start to walk off the screen. If Cheese hits the ground, you lose a try. If Cheese hits the ground 3 times, the game is over. There are 4 rounds total. A round is over once you collect all the rings. The most rings you can get are 117. As you get further, the rings get higher. In the 3rd and 4th rounds, balloons appear. They bounce Cheese around. To make Cheese go higher, press A as soon as it hits the spring. Once you go so high that you can't see Cream, a light picture of her appears where you are on the bottom of the screen. This is to make catching Cheese easier. If Cheese lands on Cream's head, it will bounce off and you have a chance to get it back on the trampoline. ******************************* 8A: Tiny Chao Garden 2: Card Matching mini-game Purple GBA Icon ******************************* Controls: A Button: Select card/trip Chao D-Pad: Move cursor In this game, you have to match the cards. The P's represent Pink Tiles, which are worth 3 Rings. The R's represent Red Tiles, which are worth 5 rings. There are 14 cards placed randomly on the board. After you see where the cards are, the Chao walks in. The Chao's job is to move the cards around. While the Chao is walking, press A to trip him. Do it at the right moment, and he will reveal a card. You have 3 tries to match all the cards. If you mismatch a card, you lose a try. When you match a card, you get a certain amount of rings. The number of rings you get depends on the color tile the 2 cards are on. If you have a card on the Blue Tile, and another card that matches it on the red part, and you match them, you will get 6 rings (1 ring for blue + 5 rings for red). ******************************* 8B: Sound Test ******************************* Sound test lets you listen to music heard throughout the game.
