Fire Emblem (a.k.a. Fire Emblem: Rekka no Ken) for the Gameboy Advance is the first in the series to be released in the US, with the earliest game introducing the strategy RPG genre. The intention of this guide is to provide a brief outline to each chapter, so that players can develop their own strategies using the information given. _______________________________________________________________________________ ------------- v 1.31 NOTICE ------------- Added more chapters. =============================================================================== ---------------------- - ENLISTING CHARACTERS - ---------------------- LYN'S TALE Chapter 1: Sain and Kent Chapter 3: Florina and Wil Chapter 4: Dorcas Chapter 5: Serra and Erk Chapter 6: Rath and Matthew Chapter 7: Nils and Lucius Chapter 9: Wallace _______________________________________________________________________________ ELIWOOD'S TALE Chapter 11: Marcus, Lowen, Rebecca Turn 2 - Bartre and Dorcas Chapter 12: Turn 4 - Hector and Oswin Chapter 13: Serra and Matthew Guy - Enlist with Matthew Chapter 14: Merlinus Erk - Enlist with Serra Priscilla - Go into the lower village Chapter 15: Lyn, Sain, Kent, Wil, Florina Chapter 16: Raven - Enlist with Priscilla Lucius - Enlist with Raven Chapter 16x: Canas - Inside the northeastern house within village Chapter 18: Dart - If not defeated in Ch.16x Fiora - Enlist with Florina Chapter 19: Legault - Enlist with Eliwood or Lyn Chapter 20: Ninian Chapter 21: Isadora Rath - Enlist with Lyn Heath - Enlist with Eliwood, Lyn, Hector or Ninian Chapter 22: Turn 2, Hawkeye - Enlist with Eliwood Chapter 23(W): Wallace - Enlist with Lyn, Sain, Kent or Florina Chapter 23(G): Geitz - Enlist with Dart Chapter 24: Pent and Louise Chapter 25(H): Turn 10, depends on number of enemies left. 10 or more: Harken - Enlist with Eliwood, Marcus, Lowen or Isadora Under 10 : Karel - Enlist with Lyn or Eliwood Chapter 25(M): Turn 9, depends on number of honored enemies defeated. Push your ground troops through this choke point, using Wil to attack any enemies in range. Try to keep Florina outside the range of the brigands, but still able to be attacked by the northern mercenary. ============================== ~ Ch.4: In Occupation's Shadow ~ ============================== Objective: Defend for 7 turns Enemies (Ganelon Bandits): 2 Archers : Lv.1 2 Mercenaries: Lv.1, Lv.2 8 Brigands : Lv.1 x3 Lv.2 x4 (one with an obtainable *Iron Axe* after defeat) Lv.3 1 Fighter (Dorcas, Lv.3) - Obtainable Character Reinforcements: Turn 3 : Southern forest (near boss) - Lv.3 Brigand Turns 3-7: Northeast corner - Lv.1 Mercenary Near southwestern corner - Lv.2 Brigand Boss: Carjiga Brigand Level 8 HP 27 Defense 7 Strength 6 Resistance 0 Skill 5 Movement 5 Speed 4 Build 15 Luck 2 Aid 14 Items carried: Steel Axe(E) Usable Weapons: Axes(C) Characters: Lyn, Sain, Kent, Florina, Wil Obtainable Character: Dorcas - Shown through the tutorial Special conversations: Dorcas & Natalie (NPC). Advice: Use Wil to defeat the western enemies in the following order: Archer, Brigand, Mercenary, as it will take 6 turns before the mercenary can break down the wall. Blockade the southern entrance with Sain and Kent, move Florina northeast to fight the mercenary reinforcements. Lyn and Dorcas can handle the boss and any enemies around him. ========================== ~ Ch.5: Beyond the Borders ~ ========================== Objective: Defeat enemy Enemies (Ganelon Bandits): 2 Archers : Lv.1 2 Mercenaries: Lv.2 2 Brigands : Lv.1 w/*Iron sword*, Lv.2 Boss: Bug Brigand Level 9 HP 29 Defense 8 Strength 8 Resistance 0 Skill 4 Movement 5 Speed 6 Build 15 Luck 1 Aid 14 Items carried: Steel Axe(E) Usable Weapons: Axes(D) Characters: Lyn, Sain, Kent, Florina, Wil Obtainable Characters: Serra & Erk - Shown through the tutorial Armory: Javelin 20 400G Hand Axe 20 300G Iron Bow 45 540G Advice: Sain and Kent should take on the brigands in the north while your ground troops pass between the mountains. Florina can either carry characters across the Lake or move eastwards to attack the mercenary. ====================== ~ Ch.6: Blood of Pride ~ ====================== Objective: Hit switches (3) Enemies (Lundgren's assassins): 2 Mercenaries: Lv.1 3 Soldier : Lv.1, one w/*Door key* 1 Archer : Lv.1 Boss: Bool Knight Level 5 HP 26 Defense 10 Strength 8 Resistance 0 Skill 4 Movement 4 Speed 2 Build 13 Luck 1 Aid 12 Items carried: Steel Lance(D) Usable Weapons: Spears(D) Characters: Lyn, Sain, Kent, Florina, Wil, Serra, Erk Joining Character: Rath Obtainable Characters: Matthew - Shown through the tutorial Special conversations: Serra & Matthew Lower house (red roofed): Door key Treasure Chests: Centre of map - Angelic Robe Northeastern corner - Armorslayer(D) Advice: Either Florina, Sain or Kent should visit the nearby village for a key. Have that character move eastwards, fighting the soldiers along the way and activating the switch behind the door. The rest of the group should move inside the castle, dealing with the rest of the enemies. ======================= ~ Ch.7: Siblings Abroad ~ ======================= Objective: Defeat Heintz Enemies (Black Fang): 3 Shamans : Lv.1 1 Archer : Lv.1 2 Mercenaries: Lv.1 1 Mage : Lv.1 3 Brigands : Lv.1 x2, Lv.2 w/*Iron Lance* Boss: Heintz Shaman Level 5 HP 22 Defense 3 Strength 3 Resistance 5 Skill 5 Movement 5 Speed 7 Build 9 Luck 3 Aid 8 Items carried: Flux(D) Usable Weapons: Dark Magic (D) Selectable Characters: 8/10 Joining Characters: Nils & Lucius Village: Pure Water Vendor: Vulnerary 3 300G Heal 30 600G Fire 40 560G Notes: Complete this chapter within 15 turns to gain access to the side quest. In the house to the right of the castle, you can talk to Hector! Special conversations: Both Matthew and Serra have special talks with Hector. Advice: To finish this chapter faster, use Florina to rescue characters such as Lucius, Erk, Sain or Kent. Have Nils play to Florina so she can fly over the peaks and drop them off on the same turn. Lucius alone should be able to deal with all the southern enemies, including the boss, single-handedly. ========================= ~ Ch.7x: The Black Shadow ~ ========================= Objective: Defeat enemy Enemies (Black Fang): 1 Thief : Lv.1 w/Lock Pick 1 Archer : Lv.2 w/Vulnerary 1 Cavalier : Lv.1 w/Vulnerary 1 Mage : Lv.1 w/Door key 2 Mercenaries: Lv.2 one w/Vulnerary 2 Brigands : Lv.2 3 Soldiers : Lv.1 x2 Lv.2 w/*Vulnerary* Reinforcements: Turn 3: Single staircase - Lv.1 Soldier Turn 4: 2 Staircases next to Beyard - Lv.1 Shaman & Lv.1 Mage Boss: Beyard Mercenary Level 7 HP 24 Defense 5 Strength 6 Resistance 1 Skill 8 Movement 5 Speed 7 Build 10 Luck 4 Aid 9 Items carried: Steel Sword(D) Usable Weapons: Swords(B) Selectable Characters: 10/12 Treasure Chest: Hammer(D) Advice: Split the army into three groups. Sain and Kent can blockade and advance along the two corridors with a long ranged attacker behind each of them. Meanwhile, send Matthew towards the treasure crest on the west, with the other characters distributed as prefered. ========================== ~ Ch.8: Vortex of Strategy ~ ========================== Objective: Defeat enemy Enemies (Caelin): 2 Archers : Lv.1, LV.2 1 Shaman : Lv.1 1 Mage : Lv.1 2 Mercenaries: Lv.1 one w/Lancereaver 2 Cavaliers : Lv.1 3 Soldiers : Lv.1 w/Axereaver, Lv.2 x2 2 Brigand : Lv.1 w/swordreaver, Lv.2 Reinforcements: Turns 3-5: Southwestern forts - 2 Soldiers, Lv.2 Boss: Yogi Knight Level 6 HP 25 Defense 11 Strength 9 Resistance 1 Skill 7 Movement 4 Speed 3 Build 12 Luck 2 Aid 11 Items carried: Axereaver(C) Usable Weapons: Spears(C) Selectable Characters: 9/11 (Matthew cannot be used) Village: Lancereaver(C) Armory: Iron Sword 46 460G Iron Lance 45 360G Iron Axe 45 270G Iron Bow 45 540G Advice: Erk or Lucius can handle the two magic attackers east, move the rest of the army south. It is possible to be rid of the ballista on the first turn, if Florina's strength rating is at least 6: Place Nils in one of the eastern starting positions, fly Florina one square beyond Nils' movement range, Nils plays to Florina, Florina then attacks the Archer from a distance, using a Javelin. Bear in mind the three enemies surrounding the boss have Reaver-type weapons. ====================== ~ Ch.9: A Grim Reunion ~ ====================== Objective: Seize gate Enemies (Caelin): 2 Soldiers : Lv.3 1 Mercenary: Lv.3 1 Myrmidon : Lv.3 Reinforcements: Turns 1-2: Northeastern fort - Archer : Lv.1 Turns 1-3: Southern fort - Brigand : Lv.2 Central fort - Brigand : Lv.1 Eastern fort - Cavalier: Lv.1 Turns 1-4: Northwestern fort - Soldier : Lv.2 Turns 1-5: Southwestern fort - Brigand : Lv.1 Boss: Eagler Paladin Level 1 HP 30 Defense 10 Strength 10 Resistance 5 Skill 6 Movement 8 Speed 7 Build 12 Luck 2 Aid 13 Items carried: Javelin(E), Hand Axe(E) Usable Weapons: Swords(A), Spears(A), Axes(E) Selectable characters: 10/12 Joining Character: Wallace Village: Torch Special conversations: Lyn, Sain, Kent or Wallace fight Eagler Note: Fog appears on turn 3. Advice: Try to have at least one character ready to fight the nearby reinforcements as soon as they emerge from the various points on the map. For instance: Sain or Kent guarding against the northwestern Soldier reinforcements. Lucius or Erk waiting for the southwestern Brigands. Lyn dealing with the southern brigands. Everyone else can head east taking on the remaining enemies and send a Cavalier with Erk or Lucius to fight the boss, using Wallace only as last resort. =========================== ~ Ch.10: The Distant Plains ~ =========================== Objective: Seize gate Enemies (Caelin): 1 Soldier : Lv.3 1 Mage : Lv.1 3 Archers : Lv.3 1 Shaman : Lv.3 1 Brigand : Lv.2 2 Mercenaries: Lv.2 1 Knight : Lv.3 Reinforcements: Turns 5-9: Southernmost fort - Lv.1 Cavalier __________________________________________ BOSS: Lundgren General Level 5 HP 35 Defense 14 Strength 12 Resistance 7 Skill 8 Movement 5 Speed 5 Build 15 Luck 6 Aid 14 Items carried: Silver Spear(A), Javelin(E) Usable Weapons: Spears(A), Axes(A) ___________________________________________ Selectable characters: All Village: Energy Ring (Str +2) Vendor: Vulnerary 3 300G Heal 30 600G Fire 40 560G Thunder 35 700G Lightning 35 630G Armory: Steel Bow 30 720G Armorslayer 18 1260G Heavy spear 16 1200G Hammer 20 800G Special conversations: Lyn fights Lundgren Kent fights Lundgren Sain fights Lundgren Wallace fights Lundgren Note: Rain starts on turns 3-4, 9, 15, 20, 25-26, 31+. Advice: Use Florina to fly a few troops south across the river (e.g. Sain, Kent, Rath, Dorcas, Erk, Lucius) while the rest travel eastwards. It may be worth removing Wallace's weapons and using him as barrier to incoming enemies. If possible, it is best to defeat the boss in 1 turn: Use Kent with the Lancereaver (unless Sain has a Spd of 9+ and can wield it), with both Erk and Lucius attacking from a distance. Have Nils to play to one of the above characters to attack again, using Serra to heal if Kent was injured. If neither Sain nor Kent can damage Lundgren, use Dorcas with a Hammer or Wallace as a substitute. _______________________________________________________________________________ ELIWOOD'S TALE - NORMAL MODE ===================== ~ Ch.11: Taking Leave ~ ===================== Objective: Seize gate Enemies (Caelin bandits): 7 Brigands: 4 x Lv.1 2 x Lv.2 1 x Lv.3 2 Archers : 1 x Lv.1 1 x Lv.2 Boss: Groznyi Brigand Level 5 HP 25 Defense 4 Strength 7 Resistance 2 Skill 4 Movement 5 Speed 4 Build 12 Luck 1 Aid 11 Items carried: Iron Axe(E) Usable Weapons: Axes(D) Characters: Eliwood, Marcus, Lowen, Rebecca Joining Characters: Bartre & Dorcas - Turn 2 Village: Dragonshield (Def +2) Vendor: Vulnerary 3 300G Advice: It is a good idea to stop Eliwood from wasting his Rapier on the easier enemies. The following method also makes Lowen's attacks stronger: 1) Move Marcus next to Lowen and trade his Steel Sword for the Iron Sword (also trade the Steel Lance if you want to stop Marcus from wasting experience), then move him 2 spaces below the closest Brigand. 2) Attack the Brigand with the remaining characters, leaving the space directly below him for Eliwood only. Eliwood should move above Marcus and take his Iron Sword, whether or not he attacks. For the remainder of this level, move all the characters forward (Marcus should visit the village first), defeating the brigands as they approach. If planned out well, Lowen can move ahead and weaken enemies so that the trailing characters move up to finish them off, while Lowen moves further ahead to draw more enemies out. =========================== ~ Ch.12: Birds of a Feather ~ =========================== Objective: Defeat enemy Enemies (Caelin bandits): 3 Brigands : 1 x Lv.1 2 x Lv.3 2 Fighters : 1 x Lv.1 1 x Lv.2 3 Mercenaries: 2 x Lv.1 1 x Lv.2 4 soldiers : 2 x Lv.1 2 x Lv.2 2 archers (Lv.2) Boss: Zagan Fighter Level 9 HP 32 Defense 6 Strength 11 Resistance 5 Skill 4 Movement 5 Speed 6 Build 14 Luck 2 Aid 13 Items carried: Steel Axe(D) Usable Weapons: Axes(D) Selectable characters: All Joining characters: Hector & Oswin - Turn 4 Village: Secret book (Skill +2) Vendor: Vulnerary 3 300G Armory: Iron Sword 46 460G Iron Lance 45 360G Iron Axe 45 270G Iron Bow 45 540G Special conversations: Dorcas Eliwood & Hector Advice: Advance slowly using forts and forests whenever possible. Move your characters east, leaving the square below the mountains empty so that they will not have the terrain advantage. When Hector and Oswin appear, try to keep Hector out of range of the enemies' attacks so that he does not unnecessarily waste his Wolf Beil. It would be advisable to purchase an Iron Axe for Hector and also give him Bartre's Hand Axe, as he can make better use of it than the two fighters. Oswin should also take the Steel lance and give the Iron lance to Lowen. =========================== ~ Ch.13: In Search of Truth ~ =========================== Objective: Seize gate Enemies (Black Fang): 4 Archers: 2 x Lv.2 1 x Lv.3 1 x Lv.4, w/Vulnerary 4 Soldiers (Lv.2), one W/Vulnerary 1 Mercenary (Lv.1) 1 Brigand (Lv.1) 1 Myrmidon (Guy, Lv.3) - Obtainable character Reinforcements: Turn 2 & 3: Fort left of the bridge - Brigand (Lv.2, Hand Axe equipped) Turn 4 & 5: 2 Southernmost Forts - Archer(Lv.2) & Soldier(Lv.2) Turn 6 : Fort next to Castle - Soldier(Lv.6) Boss: Boies Knight Level 13 HP 27 Defense 13 Strength 12 Resistance 7 Skill 8 Movement 4 Speed 4 Build 13 Luck 1 Aid 12 Items carried: Steel Lance(D) Usable Weapons: Spears(D) Selectable characters: All Joining characters: Matthew & Serra Obtainable character: Guy - Enlist with Matthew Upper village: Torch (dropped by a Merchant) Lower village: Mine Armory: Iron Sword 46 460G Javelin 20 400G Hand Axe 20 300G Iron Bow 45 540G Vendor: Vulnerary 3 300G Heal 30 600G Special conversation: Lowen Hector fights Boies Note: Access the side quest by visiting the upper village. Advice: Have Lowen and Rebecca attack the southern Brigand then move most of your characters down. Also send a couple of characters west to the village. Try to clear away most the enemies in the south before moving into Guy's attack range, then either use someone to bait him out or have Matthew 6 squares away from Guy, so that he can move directly over and talk to him on the next turn. Use Oswin and Hector to confront the boss, one attacking from close range while the other uses a ranged weapon. Eliwood most likely will not be strong enough at this point, even with his Rapier. Either Marcus or Matthew should have the torch in their inventory before finishing this chapter. ============================== ~ Ch.13x: The Peddler Merlinus ~ ============================== *Limited vision map* Objective: Save Merlinus (7 Turns) Enemies (Bandits): 1 Archer (Lv.2), w/Vulnerary 1 Mercenary (Lv.3) 1 Myrmidon (Lv.1), w/Vulnerary 9 Brigands: 3 x Lv.2 6 x Lv.3, one w/Vulnerary Reinforcements: Turns 1 & 4: Northwest forts - 1 Nomad(Lv.2), 1 Myrmidon (Lv.3) Turn 2 : Southeast forts - 1 Brigand (Lv.3), 1 Nomad (Lv.2) Boss: Puzon Mercenary Level 10 HP 26 Defense 6 Strength 10 Resistance 6 Skill 8 Movement 5 Speed 9 Build 11 Luck 5 Aid 10 Items carried: Steel Sword(D), Vulnerary Usable Weapons: Swords(D) Selectable characters: All Village: 5000G Advice: First of all, remove the nearby archer and brigand. This can be achieved by using Rebecca and Bartre against the Brigand, then Eliwood and Hector (if he has a Hand axe, otherwise someone else) to defeat the Archer. Block the northern ends of both bridges using Marcus and Lowen, while Guy and Matthew can head southeast to deal with the enemies in that corner. On the following turns, Eliwood or Hector can defend against the two western enemies, as the majority of the group take on the enemies approaching from the north. Remember to send Marcus or another character to the northeastern village. Oswin is best suited to fighting the boss in direct combat. ====================== ~ Ch.14: False Friends ~ ====================== Objective: Defeat enemies Enemies (Laus): 13 Cavaliers: 3 x Lv.1, one w/Vulnerary 4 x Lv.2 6 x Lv.3 1 Myrmidon (Lv.3), w/Vulnerary 2 Archers (Lv.3), one w/Vulnerary 1 Knight (Lv.2) 3 Soldiers (Lv.3) Reinforcements: Turns 2 & 3: Southernmost fort - Pirate (Lv.3) Turns 3 & 4: Northwest peaks - Brigand (Lv.3) 6: Southwestern forts - 2 Pirates (Lv.3) Boss: Erik Cavalier Level 14 HP 28 Defense 8 Strength 8 Resistance 9 Skill 9 Movement 7 Speed 8 Constitution 10 Luck 6 Aid 15 Items carried: *Silver Lance*(A) Usable Weapons: Spears(A), Swords(C) Selectable characters: All Joining Character: Merlinus (if Ch.13x was completed) Obtainable Characters: Erk - Enlist with Serra Priscilla - Visit the lower village Upper Village: Iron Blade(D) Vendor: Vulnerary 3 300G Heal 30 600G Fire 40 560G Armory: Iron Sword 46 460G Iron Lance 45 360G Iron Axe 45 270G Iron Bow 45 540G Special conversations: Marcus Erk & Priscilla Hector fights Erik Eliwood fights Erik Note: Rain starts on turns 5-7. Advice: Recruit Erk early on or he will waste experience when he attacks enemies. Move Serra northwest to reach Erk, either out of the enemies attack range or guarded by the other characters. Advance swiftly as the rain will drastically slow down the movement of everybody on the field. It may be worth keeping one or two characters to guard Merlinus if he has been deployed. ============================= ~ Ch.15: Noble Lady of Caelin ~ ============================= Objective: Seize gate Enemies (Laus): 6 Mercenaries: 1 x Lv.2 1 x Lv.3 1 x Lv.4 3 x Lv.5, one w/*Horseslayer(D)*, one w/Vulnerary 2 Myrmidons: 1 x Lv.2 1 x Lv.5, W/Vulnerary 2 Mages: 1 x Lv.8 1 x Lv.9, w/*Thunder* 2 Archers: 1 x Lv.5 1 x Lv.6 5 Cavaliers: 3 x Lv.3 1 x Lv.4 1 x Lv.5, w/Vulnerary 1 x Lv.3 Thief Reinforcements: Turns 2 & 3: Northern peaks - Brigand (Lv.3) Turns 4 & 5: Forts nearby castle - 1 Mercenary (Lv.4), 1 Cavalier (Lv.4) Turn 5 : Southeastern corner - Brigand (Lv.4) Turns 9-12 : Northwestern corner - 2 Cavaliers (Lv.3, Lv.4) Boss: Bauker Knight Level 18 HP 31 Defense 11 Strength 13 Resistance 11 Skill 10 Movement 4 Speed 4 Build 14 Luck 4 Aid 13 Items carried: Javelin(E) Usable Weapons: Spears(D) Selectable Characters: 11 Joining Characters: Lyn, Sain, Kent, Florina, Will Western village : Red Gem (2500G) Southern village: Heavy spear(D) Vendor: Vulnerary 3 300G Door key 1 50G Heal 30 600G Fire 40 560G Armory(I): Slim Sword 30 480G Iron Sword 46 460G Steel Sword 30 600G Iron Axe 45 270G Steel Axe 30 360G Hand Axe 20 300G Armory(II): Slim Lance 30 450G Iron Lance 45 360G Steel Lance 30 480G Javelin 20 400G Iron Bow 45 540G Steel Bow 30 720G Special conversations: Erk Lyn & Eliwood Lyn & Hector Lyn & Matthew Lyn & Serra Lyn & Florina Lyn & Dorcas Lyn & Erk Advice: This is your only chance to buy Slim weapons for the bulk of the game, if you intend on using them. Edge Lyn's group north and Eliwood's east. Send one or two characters south to the village and keep a sword using character to protect Merlinus, if he has been deployed. Use Oswin, Hector, Sain and possibly Erk, Lyn and Eliwood (if any of the latter three are at a high enough level), to defeat the boss. ============================ ~ Ch.16: Whereabouts Unknown ~ ============================ Objective: Seize throne Enemies (Laus): 13 Archers: 1 x Lv.3 1 x Lv.4 1 x Lv.5 4 x Lv.6, one w/Door key, one w/Vulnerary 2 x Lv.7 4 x Lv.8, one w/*Chest key*, one w/*Door key* 8 Knights : 1 x Lv.3, w/Vulnerary 4 x Lv.4, one w/Door key 3 x Lv.5, one w/*Door key* 1 Shaman (Lv.2) 1 Fighter (Lv.4), W/*Hammer* 1 Mercenary (Raven, Lv.5) - Obtainable character Reinforcements: Turns 7-9 : Southwestern corner - 2 Cavaliers (Lv.5) Turns 8-11: Staircase - Lv.5 Shaman Boss: Bernard General Level 1 HP 29 Defense 13 Strength 14 Resistance 10 Skill 9 Movement 5 Speed 3 Build 15 Luck 2 Aid 14 Items carried: Steel Lance(D) Usable Weapons: Spears(C), Axes(E) Selectable characters: 11 Joining Character: Merlinus (if Ch.13x sidequest was not accepted) Obtainable Characters: Raven - Enlist with Priscilla Lucius - Enlist with Raven Southern Treasure room: Left Chest - Unlock Staff(D) Right Chest - Hero Crest Northern Treasure room: Left Chest - Knight Crest Right Chest - Silver Sword(A) Special conversations: Eliwood (Automatic) Lyn to Lucius (Before he joins) Lyn, Kent, Sain, Florina and Wil can speak to the Caelin soldiers. Afterwards they head towards the boss instead of escaping. Note: Keep at least one of the Caelin soldiers alive to access the sidequest. Depending on the number of soldiers that survive this chapter, different items are awarded afterwards: 3 = Red Gem (2500G) 2 = Light Rune 1 = Mine Advice: Given the number of Archers in this chapter, characters able to counterattack from a long range are extremely useful. Be prepared to take on the Knights further ahead as well. I would advise against talking to any of the Caelin soldiers if you want to keep them all alive, as they will fair very badly in combat. However, to see what the conversations are, either do a "test run" or Rescue them afterwards. Boss: Any strong weapon or magical attacks . Guarding Merlinus: Axe or Spear using characters with reasonable defense. =========================== ~ Ch.16x: The Port of Badon ~ =========================== *Arena Chapter* Objective: Reach Fargus Enemies (Davros): 1 Mage (Lv.15), w/Elfire & Vulnerary 1 Shaman (Lv.14) 1 Archer (Lv.8), w/Killer Bow 10 Pirates: 3 x Lv.4 1 x Lv.5 3 x Lv.12, two w/Silver Axes, one w/Killer Axe & Vulnerary 1 x Lv.10, w/Silver Axe, Vulnerary 1 x Lv.13, w/Hammer Dart, Lv.8 - Returns on a later chapter if not defeated Boss: Fargus Berserker Level 18 HP 58 Defense 18 Strength 24 Resistance 17 Skill 15 Movement 6 Speed 14 Build 15 Luck 15 Aid 14 Items carried: Killer Axe(C) Usable Weapons: Axes(A) ____________________________________________________ Secondary enemies (Black Fang): Arrive on turn 2. 2 Cavaliers - Lv.10 1 Troubadour - Lv.5 Boss: Damian Paladin Level 5 HP 34 Defense 14 Strength 12 Resistance 13 Skill 7 Movement 8 Speed 5 Build 11 Luck 2 Aid 14 Items carried: Killing Edge(C) Usable Weapons: Swords(A), Spears(D), Axes(E) ___________________________________________________ Selectable characters: 9 Obtainable Characters: Canas - Visit northeastern house inside village Houses: Northwestern House - Lancereaver(C) House, west of village gate - Sleep Staff(B) Northwestern house inside village - Short Bow(D) Southwestern house inside village - Devil Axe(E) Northeastern house inside village - Canas Vendor: Heal 30 600G Mend 20 1000G Fire 40 560G Thunder 35 700G Lightning 35 630G Special conversations: Lucius Note: Any character can speak to Fargus and end this chapter. Advice: The information in the Inn is to go north, around the village to reach Fargus, however it is possible to charge towards the enemy and survive. Send any sword using character to fight the northern pirates. Use Florina to talk to Canas then fly west, staying out of range of any enemies and visit all the northern houses on consequent turns. For the main attacking force, you will need a couple of strong characters in the front (Hector, Oswin, a Cavalier) with ranged attackers behind them. Blockade both paths, making sure the enemies will not receive any terrain bonus and try to leave a space for Eliwood to move his full 5 spaces each turn. Try to eliminate as many enemies as possible on the second turn and make sure that nobody on the southern end is likely to get killed by the Paladin when he arrives. Bait him towards your army using Oswin, or any cavalier with good defense. Marcus is not necessary but if you do decide to choose him, he will not waste as much experience as usual, due to the enemies being at a higher level. ==================== ~ Ch.17: Pirate Ship ~ ==================== Objective: Survive for 11 turns Enemies (Black Fang): 8 Shamans: 1 x Lv.4, w/Pure water 2 x Lv.6, one using Nosferatu w/Pure water, one w/*Guiding Ring* 5 x Lv.7, two w/Vulneraries 8 Mercenaries: 2 x Lv.5, one w/*Longsword* one using Lancereaver w/*Pure water* 4 x Lv.6, one w/Vunerary 2 x Lv.8 1 Archer(Lv.4), w/*Red gem* Reinforcements: Turn 2: Northeast - Lv.4 Myrmidon, w/Armourslayer Eastern stairs - Lv.4 Mercenary Turn 4: Western stairs - 2 Shamans, Lv.5 & 6 Turn 7: South Ship appears - Two Lv.5 Mercs, Lv.5 Myrmidon, Lv.6 Shaman Turn 8: Southeast - Lv.5 Myrmidon South - Two Lv.5 Pegasus Knights Southern stairs - Two Mercs, Lv.4 & 5 Turn 9: Northeast - Lv.4 Myrmidon, w/Armourslayer Eastern stairs - Lv.4 Mercenary Boss: Zoldam Shaman Level 18 HP 28 Defense 7 Strength 12 Resistance 15 Skill 11 Movement 5 Speed 10 Build 7 Luck 8 Aid 6 Items carried: Luna(C), Speedwings Usable Weapons: Dark Magic(B) Selectable characters: 11 Armory: Iron Sword 46 460G Steel Sword 30 600G Steel Lance 30 480G Javelin 20 400G Steel Axe 30 360G Hand Axe 20 300G Iron Bow 45 540G Steel Bow 30 720G Vendor: Vulnerary 3 300G Door key 1 50G Heal 30 600G Mend 20 1000G Fire 40 560G Thunder 35 700G Lightning 35 630G Flux 45 900G Special conversations: Guy Advice: Block the enemies coming from the two eastern bridges, while you assault the shamans from the west. Advice: A mixture of Nomads and Cavaliers lay in wait to the south and a group of enemies will be invading from the central island. Use a high defense character to prepare for the invading force while some cavaliers can draw out the southern enemies. It is best to defeat the thief on the first turn to receive the Torch staff. Leave one character to guard against the northern pirate reinforcements if Merlinus is deployed. Boss: Strong spear users are recommended along with some long ranged support, however it may be better to wait for a counterattack if your bow and magic users cannot survive 2 hits from Uhai's bows. At a reasonable level, Lyn and Eliwood can also attack with their custom weapons. ============================= ~ Ch.18x: Imprisoner of Magic ~ ============================= Objective: Seize Gate Enemies (Black Fang): Lv.10 Shaman, using Nosferatu 5 Pegasus Knights, Lv.6 7 Knights, Lv.6 9 Mages: 1 x Lv.5 6 x Lv.6 2 x Lv.7 Reinforcements: Before turn 1 : Southwestern corner - Lv.6 Brigand Before enemies' turn 3: From fort near boss - Lv.1 Magic Seal, Two Lv.15 Snipers, Two Lv.15 Generals Turn 8: Northeastern forts - 2 Lv.6 Mages Magic Seal: Kishuna HP 50 Speed 24 Defense 13 Evasion 48% Boss: Aion Sage Level 4 HP 32 Defense 6 Strength 12 Resistance 16 Skill 9 Movement 6 Speed 12 Build 7 Luck 9 Aid 6 Items carried: Bolting(B), Thunder(D) Usable Weapons: Anima(B), Staves(E) Selectable characters: 12 Ruins: Goddess icon Special conversations: Fiora Different talk depending on character visiting the ruins Note: If you attack the Magic Seal, he will disappear at the end of that same turn. Advice: Stay out of range of the boss' Bolting attack until turn 4, when the Magic sealer has appeared. The enemies mainly consist of mages and knights, so high strength characters and both Pegasus Knights would be recommended. Only bring one or two magic users as the Magic seal will render them useless as you approach the boss. Guard Merlinus against the Pegasi who fly over and the two mages that appear from the northern forts on turn 8. Boss: Due to his high evasion, use characters with high accuracy to attack. ====================== ~ Ch.19: Dragon's Gate ~ ====================== Objective: Seize Throne Enemies (Black Fang): 6 Knights: Lv.6 w/Poison axe & Antitoxin 3 x Lv.7, one w/*Chest key*, one w/*Short spear(C)* 2 x Lv.8, one w/Door key Lv.2 Sniper w/*Door key* (if used, Silver Bow becomes obtainable instead) Lv.9 Archer w/*Door key* 2 Shamans, Lv.7 & Lv.8 w/Luna 6 Cavaliers, Lv.7, one w/*Armorslayer*, one w/*Door key* 4 Nomads, Lv.7 Lv.8 Troubadour Lv.7 Mage Lv.8 Soldier Lv.9 Myrmidon w/Armorslayer Reinforcements: Turn 1 : Northwestern corner - Legault, Lv.12, obtainable character Turn 4 : Southwestern room - Lv.7 Archer Small western room - Lv.7 Mage Southeastern room - Lv.7 Archer, Lv.7 Fighter Centre room - Lv.6 Mercenary Turn 5 : Southeastern room - Lv.7 Archer, Lv.7 Fighter Turn 6 : Eastern corridor - Lv.4 Thief w/Member card & Chest key Turn 8 : Southwestern corner - Two Lv.7 Pegasus Knights Turn 9 : Southwestern corner - Two Lv.7 Pegasus Knights Turn 19: Northwestern corner - Two Lv.7 Mages Turn 20: Northwest - Two Lv.7 Knights, one w/Poison lance Turn 21: Northwestern corner - Two Lv.7 Mages Turn 22: Northwest - Two Lv.7 Knights, one w/Poison lance Turn 23: Northwestern corner - Two Lv.7 Mages Turn 24: Northwest - Two Lv.7 Knights, one w/Poison lance Sub-Boss: Gameron Paladin Level 4 HP 31 Defense 10 Strength 9 Resistance 11 Skill 10 Movement 8 Speed 12 Build 11 Luck 5 Aid 14 Items carried: Halberd(D) Usable Weapons: Swords(B), Spears(B), Axes(C) Boss: Darin General Level 5 HP 34 Defense 15 Strength 14 Resistance 13 Skill 9 Movement 5 Speed 8 Build 15 Luck 2 Aid 14 Items carried: Silver Spear(A), Hand Axe(E) Usable Weapons: Spears(A), Axes(A) Selectable characters: 13 (All three Lords compulsory) Obtainable Character: Legault - Enlist with Eliwood or Lyn Treasure Chests: Southwestern chest - Brave Bow(B) Western upper chest - Luna(C) Western lower chest - Blue gem (5000G) Eastern upper chest - Barrier (Staff, C) Eastern lower chest - Guiding ring Secret Shops - Equip a character with Member card to access Right end of northwestern strip of grass: Iron Blade 35 980G Steel Blade 25 1250G Silver Blade 15 1800G Physic 15 3750G Unlock 10 1500G Southeastern corner: Killing Edge 20 1300G Killer Lance 20 1200G Killer Axe 20 1000G Killer Bow 20 1400G Elixir 3 3000G Chest key 5 1500G Lockpick 15 1200G Special conversation: Sain Hector fights Darin Lyn fights Darin Eliwood fights Darin Note: Do not defeat the boss (Darin) until after turn 6 for the thief to appear. The Member card from the thief needs to be stolen if you want to gain access to Secret shops. Advice: If all three lords are at least level 10, this chapter should already be quite straightforward. Make sure no characters are within attacking range of the Sniper to the left. On the enemy's 1st turn, he will then open the door with his key and after he is defeated, his Silver Bow can obtained instead. The sub-boss, to be honest, is quite pathetic. Any of the lords should be able to take him out with their custom weapons. Use Matthew to steal a door key from the knight approaching from the left. Give this key to any character who can single-handedly defeat the knight in the western treasure room and that character can then open all the chests on the western side of the map. To quickly enlist Legault, clear a path through the Cavaliers and Nomads for Eliwood or Lyn to reach the door in front of the boss by turn 5. Send Eliwood towards the two knights in the northeastern corner along with one of your thieves to steal an antitoxin. Meanwhile, a high movement character should run ahead southeast, breaking the wall nearby to where the thief appears from and have your other thief follow this character. Use Legault and Matthew to surround and steal everything except the Iron sword from the thief who appears on turn 6. Apart from the extremely expensive Physic, nothing in the western Secret shop would be worth the trouble of walking all the way back for. Guarding Merlinus: Use one or two characters to fight the archer and Pegasus reinforcements. Boss: For safety, have Eliwood and Lyn stand next to him and wait for a counterattack, instead of initiating a fight. Hector though, should be able to survive at least two hits and can attack him straight off. ==================== ~ Ch.20: New Resolve ~ ==================== *Limited vision map* *Arena Chapter* Objective: Defeat Oleg Enemies (Black Fang): 8 Monks - Lv.7, one w/obtainable *Shine* book(D) 2 Cavaliers - Lv.7, one w/*Torch* 3 Brigands - Lv.7, one w/Antitoxin & Poison Axe, one w/Hammer 2 Archers - Lv.7, one w/*Antitoxin* & Poison Bow 2 Wyvern Riders - Lv.6 w/Poison Lance Reinforcements: Turn 3: Northeast - Lv.9 Brigand Turn 4: East - Two Lv.6 Monks Turn 5: North & Southeast - Two Lv.5 Wyvern Riders Turn 6: Northeast - Lv.6 Nomad Southeast - Lv.6 Cavalier Turn 9: East - Two Lv.7 Knights Turn 11:Northeast - Lv.6 Cavalier Southeast - Lv.6 Nomad Boss: Oleg Warrior Level 5 HP 42 Defense 12 Strength 16 Resistance 7 Skill 9 Movement 6 Speed 7 Build 13 Luck 3 Aid 12 Items carried: Silver Axe(A), Steel Bow(D) Hero Crest (Obtain by stealing) Usable Weapons: Axes(A), Bows(D) Selectable characters: 10 Joining character: Ninian Upper western house: Restore staff(C) Lower western house: Light rune Northeastern house : Elysian Whip Southwestern house : Wyrmslayer(C) Nearby armory: Iron Sword 46 460G Iron Lance 45 360G Javelin 20 400G Iron Axe 45 270G Hand Axe 20 300G Iron Bow 45 540G Southern vendor: Heal 30 600G Mend 20 1000G Fire 40 560G Thunder 35 700G Lightning 35 630G Flux 45 900G Northern armory: Steel Sword 30 600G Steel Lance 30 480G Steel Axe 30 360G Steel Bow 30 720G Northern vendor: Vulnerary 3 300G Door key 1 50G Pure water 3 900G Antitoxin 3 450G Special conversations: Ninian (Automatic) Note: Only buy items as needed, for there will be another opportunity to re-supply after 2-3 chapters, depending on sidequests. Advice: Charge east, making sure to visit all the house before the brigands. Use thieves to keep an eye out for Wyvern Riders hiding in the fog, who will most likely target your weaker characters. Even if aiming for a high rank, you can still briefly use the arena for this chapter, while your other characters fight off the enemies. Boss: Sword, Axe and possibly magic using characters can take him on easily. ======================= ~ Ch.21: Kinship's Bond ~ ======================= Objective: Defend Nils for 11 turns Enemies (Laus mercenaries): 4 Fighters: 1 x Lv.7 using Poison Axe, w/Door key 3 x Lv.8, two w/Door keys, one w/Hammer Lv.8 Thief Lv.9 Archer Lv.8 Shaman w/Nosferatu Lv.7 Nomad Lv.7 Cavalier w/*Knight crest* Lv.7 Wyvern Rider 2 Mages, Lv.8 Heath (Lv.7) - Obtainable character Reinforcements: Turn 2: South & Southwest - Two Lv.8 Fighters Turn 3: West - Lv.7 Archer South - Two Lv.8 Monks, two Lv.7 Knights Southeast - Lv.7 Nomad Turn 4: Southwest - Lv.7 Pegasus Knight East - Lv.8 Archer Southeast - Lv.6 Wyvern Rider Turn 7: West - Lv.8 Mage, Lv.7 Archer, Lv.7 Pegasus Rider Southeast - Lv.8 Mage, Lv.6 Wyvern Rider, Lv.7 Nomad Turn 8: West - Lv.8 Mage Southwest - Lv.7 Pegasus Rider Southeast - Lv.8 Mage, Lv.6 Wyvern Rider Boss: Eubans Paladin Level 6 HP 38 Defense 12 Strength 14 Resistance 14 Skill 10 Movement 8 Speed 9 Build 11 Luck 5 Aid 14 Items carried: Spear(B) Usable Weapons: Swords(B), Spears(S), Axes(E) Selectable characters: 14 Joining character: Isadora Obtainable Characters: Heath - Enlist with Eliwood, Lyn, Hector or Ninian Rath - Enlist with Lyn NPCs: 6 Ostian Knights, 5 x Lv.7, 1 x Lv.8 NPC reinforcements at end of turn 1: Rath - Obtainable character Lv.10 Cavalier Lv.12 Merc Left treasure Chest : 10000G Right treasure Chest: Brave Axe(B) Secret shop - Diamond patterned tile in the northwestern room: Elixir 3 3000G Chest Key 5 1500G Lockpick 15 1200G Physic 15 3750G Torch 10 1000G Unlock 10 1500G Barrier 15 2250G Special conversations: Isadora (Automatic) Heath fights Eubans Advice: Simply move forwards fending off all the approaching enemies. Defeat the archer on the ballista, south of your party, early on to stop his constant pot-shots at your characters on every turn. Use the ballistae yourself to pick off the reinforcements as they arrive. To enlist Heath, either send Eliwood west and open the door, or wait until Heath flies to the south of your party. However the thief may escape with the treasure using the latter method. Boss: Quite straightforward. Use the ballistas to weaken him first if you want. ====================== ~ Ch.22: Living Legend ~ ====================== Objective: Defeat enemy and protect Pent Enemies (Nabata Bandits): All at Level 9 1 Shaman w/*Luna* 1 Brigand 4 Archers 7 Mages 1 Nomad 1 Cavalier 2 Knights 1 Monk Reinforcements: Turns 2 & 4: North and Southwestern corners - 2 Wyvern Riders Turns 4-5 : Northwestern fort - 1 Mage Turns 6-7 : North and Southwestern corners - 2 Shamans Bosses: Jasmine Warrior Level 9 HP 46 Defense 8 Strength 17 Resistance 11 Skill 14 Movement 6 Speed 14 Build 13 Luck 6 Aid 12 Items carried: Steel Axe(E), Hand Axe(E) Guiding ring Usable Weapons: Axes(C), Bows(E) *A Support with Paul* Paul Warrior Level 8 HP 47 Defense 11 Strength 19 Resistance 9 Skill 12 Movement 6 Speed 12 Build 13 Luck 2 Aid 12 Items carried: Killer Axe(C) Usable Weapons: Axes(C), Bows(E) *A Support with Jasmine* Selectable characters: 11 Obtainable Character: Hawkeye - Enlist with Eliwood NPCs: Pent, Lv.6 Buried treasures: Ocean seal - Edge of the map, directly south of Eliwood Eclipse - Above central bones Filla's Might - Below central bones Light Brand - Left of northwestern bones Hero crest - Right of northwestern bones Body Ring - Under the left end of the cliff below Pent Special conversations: Canas Pent and Eliwood Note: Only magic users on foot can walk across the sand unhindered. Access the sidequest by having Hawkeye join and killing the two bosses. Advice: To finish this chapter quickly, bring all magic book users, both thieves and at least two flying units to carry them. Send whichever thief with lower evasion to find the treasure directly south, then carry him west and have him walk north, picking up all the available treasures along the way. The other thief should move into Jasmine's attack range (with other characters close by) and steal the Guiding ring the turn after. Fly him to the far west and start searching for treasures from this end of the map. Bosses: Try to finish each of them off in one turn. Jasmine - After Legault has taken the Guiding ring, attack from all angles with every character possible and you should be able to finish him off. Paul - Either swarm in with magic users and any other long ranged attacks to kill him off in one go, or bait him with a high HP and Defense character in case he manages a critical hit (fly Hawkeye over if one is not available). ================= ~ Ch.22x: Genesis ~ ================= Objective: Defeat enemy Enemies (Magic seal and Morphs): All at Level 5 2 Druids, one w/*Door key* 2 Bishops, one w/*Door key* 4 Generals, two w/*Door key* 2 Sages, one using Bolting(3-10) 2 Snipers 1 Hero 1 Swordmaster w/Light brand Reinforcements: Different enemies appear with a different selection of obtainable items, depending on whether the central room has been opened or the Magic Seal is attacked. Advice: The "long and winding path" nature of this chapter can mean that more turns are possibly needed to complete, than the other chapters encountered so far. Have a thief in each group and use the magic sealing area to your advantage. Before opening the door to the central room, defeat the four enemies with long ranged attacks. ============================ ~ Ch.23: Four-Fanged Offense ~ ============================ *Arena Chapter* There are two versions of this chapter, depending on the lords' levels: _______________________________________________________________________________ TOTAL LEVEL OF LORDS IS BELOW 50: *Limited vision map* Objective: Defeat Lloyd Enemies (Black Fang): LV.7 Sniper, w/*Orion's Bolt* LV.?? Advice: Bring characters with either high evasion or Magic resistance, as the long ranged magics try to target and kill one character on each turn. Use one or two characters to deal with the nearby enemies and the Wyvern reinforcements nearby Merlinus. Some magicians and/or Pegasi can head east and clear up the group of mages (remember to give one these characters a door key) and send everyone else north against the Wyverns approaching. Most likely, the General and Sage would have been finished off early on, so Karel is more likely to arrive, unless either the Bishop or Druid has been left alone. BOSS: Be aware of the fact that Kenneth can occasionally a perform critical hit and he should not pose too much of a problem. Stay out of range from the Bishop's Berserk staff (5 spaces from the edge of his "island") and move a thief close enough to steal the Angelic robes when a path appears, then send another character in to take him out. Advice: (Hector's group) Charge forward using Hector and Oswin while Serra and Matthew are kept outside the enemies' attack range. Only use the Wolf Beil if Hector's Hand axe breaks. Draw the attention of the Pegasi away from Eliwood's group. (Eliwood's group) First thing to do is move Marcus to visit the village. Move Lowen (sword equiped) or Dorcas onto the fort with Bartre directly south of him. On the enemies' turn, only an archer should attack the character on the fort while the Brigand attacks Bartre. Have Rebecca and another character take out the mercenary. Advance east using forts and forests for cover when possible. It is best to have two characters with over 20HP surround the plains directly below the mountains (Lowen, Bartre, Dorcas, unarmed Marcus) with Rebecca behind them. Rotate off badly injured characters and heal on the fort if necessary. Eliwood's group should be able to handle the boss. BOSS: Only attack with Rebecca and have the other two counterattack, moving away to be healed by the nearby fort or Serra, if she's here. Have everyone attack and finish him off when his HP is low. Buy an Iron Axe for Hector and give Bartre's Hand axe to Hector. Marcus should give his Iron sword to Eliwood and Silver spear to anybody for safekeeping. =========================== ~ Ch.13: In Search of Truth ~ =========================== Objective: Seize gate Enemies (Black Fang): 4 Archers - Lv.2 x3 Lv.3 w/Vulnerary Lv.4 w/Steel bow 2 Pegasus Knights - Lv.2, Lv.5 1 Soldier - Lv.2 w/Vulnerary 1 Brigand - Lv.1 3 Cavaliers - Lv.2 1 Myrmidon (Guy, Lv.3) - Obtainable character Reinforcements: Turn 3 & 4: Fort left of the bridge - Brigand Lv.2 w/Hand Axe Turn 5 & 6: 2 Southernmost Forts - Archer Lv.2 & Soldier Lv.2 Turn 7 : Fort next to Castle - Pegasus Knight Lv.6 _______________________________ Boss: Boies Knight Level 13 HP 27 _____________________________ Attack 22 Critical 4 Hit 86 Avoid 29 Range 1 Atk Speed 4 _____________________________ Strength 12 Movement 4 Skill 8 Build 13 Speed 4 Aid 12 Luck 1 Defense 13 Resistance 7 _____________________________ Items carried : Steel Lance Usable Weapons: Spears(D) _______________________________ Selectable characters: All Joining characters: Matthew & Serra Obtainable character: Guy - Enlist with Matthew Upper village: Torch (dropped by a Merchant) Lower village: Mine Armory: Iron Sword 46 460G Javelin 20 400G Hand Axe 20 300G Iron Bow 45 540G Vendor: Vulnerary 3 300G Heal 30 600G Special conversation: Matthew Hector fights Boies Eliwood fights Boies Note: Access the side quest by visiting the upper village. Overview: Clear a path for Matthew to talk to Guy and send a couple of characters west to the village. Advice: Use an unarmed Marcus to block the nearby southern enemies and attack them next turn with your other characters. Have a couple of characters move towards the village to the west and also take on the Pegasi and Cavaliers. Move a character just barely into the Cavalier's attack range to draw him out, along with an archer. Next bait out the other archer and possibly a brigand reinforcement. Try to clear away these enemies before the archer and soldier reinforcements begin appearing from the southern forts. Place Matthew 6 squares away from Guy, so that he can move directly over and talk to him on the next turn. Finish up any remaining enemies. BOSS: Use Oswin and Hector to confront the boss, one attacking from close range while the other uses a ranged weapon. Have Dorcas or Bartre stand next to him and counterattack to weaken him if you want. Eliwood most likely will not be strong enough even with his Rapier at this point. Either Marcus or Matthew should have the torch in their inventory before finishing this chapter. ============================== ~ Ch.13x: The Peddler Merlinus ~ ============================== *Limited vision map* Objective: Save Merlinus (7 Turns) Enemies (Bandits): Northwest: Puzon 2 Brigands - Lv.3 North: 1 Archer - Lv.2 w/Vulnerary 1 Mercenary - Lv.3 1 Myrmidons - Lv.3 2 Brigands - Lv.3 West: 1 Myrmidons - Lv.1 w/Vulnerary 1 Mage - Lv.3 Southeast: 3 Brigands - Lv.2, one w/Vulnerary Reinforcements: Turns 1,2,5: Northwest forts - Nomad Lv.2, Myrmidon Lv.3 Turns 3,4 : Southeast forts - Brigand Lv.2, Nomad Lv.2 _______________________________ Boss: Puzon Mercenary Level 10 HP 26 _____________________________ Attack 18 Critical 4 Hit 93 Avoid 13 Range 1 Atk Speed 9 _____________________________ Strength 10 Movement 5 Skill 8 Build 11 Speed 9 Aid 10 Luck 5 Defense 6 Resistance 6 _____________________________ Items carried : Steel Sword Vulnerary Usable Weapons: Swords(D) _______________________________ Selectable characters: All Village: 5000G Special conversation: Merlinus (Automatic) Note: This chapter only ends after turn 7, even if all the enemies were defeated earlier. Overview: Defeat the enemies as they approach, making sure none are capable of attacking Merlinus. Advice: First of all, remove the nearby archer and myrmidon and block both northern bridges. Send one or two characters southeast towards the brigands in that corner and have Oswin guard against the Myrimidon and Mage approahing from the west. On the following turns, move your characters north to defeat the mercenary and brigands and prepare for the rest who approach from the northwest. Eliwood or Hector can take out the nomads easily with their personal weapons but do not move any character onto the broken snags unless you purposely want to draw the boss out. Remember to send Marcus or another character to the northeastern village. Oswin is best suited to fighting the boss in direct combat. First he should defeat the Myrmidon and mage after they break the western snag (help them with the Javelin if you want). Head across and then north towards the boss afterwards. ====================== ~ Ch.14: False Friends ~ ====================== Objective: Defeat enemies Enemies (Laus): 6 Cavaliers - Lv.1, Lv.4 Lv.3 x4 (one w/Vulnerary) 1 Myrmidon - Lv.5 w/Vulnerary 1 Archer - Lv.3 w/Vulnerary 1 Nomad - Lv.3 1 Knight - Lv.2 5 Soldiers - Lv.3 2 Mercenaries - Lv.1 Reinforcements: Turns 2 & 3: Southernmost fort - Pirate Lv.3 Northwest peaks - Brigand Lv.3 Turn 4 : Southwestern forts - 2 Pegasus Knights Lv.6 _______________________________ Boss: Erik Cavalier Level HP _____________________________ Attack 22 Critical 4 Hit 96 Avoid 22 Range 1 Atk Speed 8 _____________________________ Strength 8 Movement 7 Skill 9 Build 10 Speed 8 Aid 15 Luck 6 Defense 8 Resistance 9 ____________________________________ Items carried : *Silver lance* Usable Weapons: Spears(A), Swords(C) ______________________________________ Selectable characters: All Joining Character: Merlinus (if Ch.13x was completed) Obtainable Characters: Erk - Enlist with Serra Priscilla - Visit the lower village Upper Village: Iron Blade Vendor: Vulnerary 3 300G Heal 30 600G Fire 40 560G Armory: Iron Sword 46 460G Iron Lance 45 360G Iron Axe 45 270G Iron Bow 45 540G Special conversations: Serra Erk & Priscilla Hector fights Erik Eliwood fights Erik Note: Rain falls during turns 5-7. If Erk joins your group, Priscilla joins automatically at the end of the Chapter if you have not recruited her and the village is still intact. Overview: Split up the group to take on enemies from all sides. Advice: These are the four groups recommended: 1. Dorcas and Bartre can attack the 2 soldiers behind the group. Use them to guard Merlinus as 2 Pegasus reinforcements will appear from the southern forts, unless you defeat Erik by the end of turn 4. 2. Move Serra northwest to reach Erk. Also bring Marcus along to visit the village and guard against the approaching enemies. You can move your other characters around to attack later or Rebecca or Erk can stand behind our runaway barricade to shoot them down. In any case, Serra should move back towards the other characters who might need healing by now. 3. Eliwood, Guy and/or Matthew should fight off the Brigands from the south and then visit the southern village. 4. Hector, Oswin, Lowen and anyone else remaining can head directly towards Erik, clearing through all the enemies in the way. BOSS: Move Lowen, Oswin or Hector in his attack range to draw him out with then finish him off on the next turn. Do not use Eliwood. Even if he can survive one strike, another hit from one of the Cavaliers surrounding Erik and you will be forced to restart this chapter. ====================== ~ Ch.15: Talons Alight ~ ====================== Objective: Defend throne Enemies (Eubans' Mercs): 1 Mercenary - Lv.3 w/Door key 2 Mages - Lv.3 w/Vulnerary 1 Nomad - Lv.3 1 Archer - Lv.4 1 Knight - Lv.4 w/Steel lance 1 Thief - Lv.4 2 Soldiers - Lv.6, one w/Javelin Reinforcements: Turn 3 : Southern stairs - Myrmidon Lv.4, Merc Lv.4 Northwest corner - Fighter Lv.4 Turn 4 : Southern stairs - Myrmidon Lv.4, Merc Lv.4 Turns 5-7: Eastern entrance - 2 Cavaliers Lv.4 _______________________________ Boss: Sealen Nomad Level 15 HP 26 _____________________________ Longbow equiped: Attack 15 Critical 4 Hit 88 Avoid 18 Range 2-3 Atk Speed 4 Steel bow equiped: Attack 19 Critical 4 Hit 93 Avoid 20 Range 2 Atk Speed 5 _____________________________ Strength 10 Movement 7 Skill 9 Build 7 Speed 7 Aid 18 Luck 10 Defense 7 Resistance 6 _____________________________ Items carried : Longbow *Steel bow* Usable Weapons: Bows(D) _______________________________ Selectable characters: 9 Left Chest - Silver Axe Right Chest - Mend Special conversations: Oswin Note: This chapter only ends after turn 7, even if no enemies are left. Overview: Moving back all your characters allows you to easily defend for the required number of turns, but with proper planning, it is possible to attack and defeat all the enemies. Advice: Defeat the southern enemies, Matthew can head towards the chests and use a character to defend against the mercenary and mage. Make sure that a character is ready for the reinforcement Fighter appearing from the Northwest. Assault the boss when ready. BOSS: Move one character that can survive a hit into the edge of his attack range then surround him and attack. Hector or Eliwood's personal weapons make short work of him. ============================= ~ Ch.16: Noble Lady of Caelin ~ ============================= Objective: Seize gate Enemies (Laus): 5 Mercenaries - Lv.2, Lv.3 Lv.4 x2 Lv.5 w/Vulnerary 2 Myrmidons - Lv.2, Lv.5 w/Vulnerary 2 Mages - Lv.8, Lv.9 w/*Thunder* 2 Archers - Lv.5, Lv.6 2 Cavaliers - Lv.3 w/*Horseslayer(D)* Lv.5 w/Vulnerary 1 Thief - Lv.3 3 Pegasus Knights - Lv.3, Lv.6, Lv.7 Reinforcements: Turns 3 & 4: Southwest - Brigand Lv.3 Turns 5 & 6: Forts nearby castle - Mercenary Lv.4, Cavalier Lv.4 Turn 6 : Southeastern corner - Brigand Lv.4 Turns 10-13: Northwestern corner - 2 Cavaliers Lv.7 _______________________________ Boss: Bauker Knight Level 18 HP 31 _____________________________ Steel lance equiped: Attack 23 Critical 5 Hit 92 Avoid 32 Range 1 Atk Speed 4 Javelin equiped: Attack 19 Critical 5 Hit 87 Avoid 32 Range 1-2 Atk Speed 4 _____________________________ Strength 13 Movement 4 Skill 10 Build 14 Speed 4 Aid 13 Luck 4 Defense 11 Resistance 11 _____________________________ Items carried : Steel lance Javelin Usable Weapons: Spears(D) _______________________________ Selectable Characters: 11 Joining Characters: Lyn, Sain, Kent, Florina, Will Western village : Red Gem (2500G) Southern village: Heavy spear(D) Vendor: Vulnerary 3 300G Door key 1 50G Heal 30 600G Fire 40 560G Armory(I): Slim Sword 30 480G Iron Sword 46 460G Steel Sword 30 600G Iron Axe 45 270G Steel Axe 30 360G Hand Axe 20 300G Armory(II): Slim Lance 30 450G Iron Lance 45 360G Steel Lance 30 480G Javelin 20 400G Iron Bow 45 540G Steel Bow 30 720G Special conversations: Florina Florina & Hector Lyn & Eliwood Lyn & Hector Lyn & Matthew Lyn & Serra Lyn & Florina Lyn & Dorcas Lyn & Erk Overview: This is your only chance to buy Slim weapons for most of the game, if you intend on using them (mainly for Pegasus knights). Advice: Get ready for the three Pegasus knights who head towards the group. There is also a ballista near the castle, so make sure Florina stays outside its range. Aside from a few minor changes, complete this map as you would in Eliwood's tale. Lyn's group can do all the purchasing and take care of everything in the south, while Hector's group heads east. Send someone to the western village (i.e. unarmed Marcus and a character to fight the Mercs and Brigands) and one or two characters to protect Merlinus, if you are going to wait for the Cavalier reinforcements. A few characters can also head across the northern mountains instead of having everyone queuing up to go through the woods. BOSS: Use the lords' weapons and high attacking characters to defeat the him. ============================ ~ Ch.17: Whereabouts Unknown ~ ============================ Objective: Seize throne Enemies (Laus): 1 Mercenary - Lv.6 1 Myrmidon - Lv.6 7 Knights - Lv.3 w/Vulnerary Lv.4 x3 Lv.5 x3; one w/*Door key* 1 Shaman - Lv.2 6 Archers - Lv.3 w/Door key Lv.4 Lv.6 w/Door key Lv.7 Lv.8 x2; one w/*Chest key* one w/*Door key* 3 Nomads - Lv.6 w/Vulnerary Lv.8 x2 2 Cavaliers - Lv.5, Lv.7 1 Fighter - Lv.4 w/*Hammer* 1 Mage - Lv.4 1 Mercenary (Raven, Lv.5) - Obtainable character Reinforcements: Turn 6 : Staircase - Thief Lv.8 Turns 8-10: Southwestern corner - Cavalier Lv.5, Nomad Lv.5 Turns 9-12: Staircase - Shaman Lv.5 _______________________________ Boss: Bernard General Level 1 HP 29 _____________________________ Steel axe equiped: Attack 25 Critical 4 Hit 84 Avoid 28 Range 1 Atk Speed 3 Javelin equiped: Attack 20 Critical 4 Hit 84 Avoid 28 Range 1-2 Atk Speed 3 _____________________________ Strength 14 Movement 5 Skill 9 Build 15 Speed 3 Aid 14 Luck 2 Defense 13 Resistance 10 __________________________________ Items carried : Steel Axe Javelin Usable Weapons: Spears(C), Axes(E) ____________________________________ Selectable characters: 11 Joining Character: Merlinus (if Ch.13x sidequest was not accepted) Obtainable Characters: Raven - Enlist with Priscilla Lucius - Enlist with Raven Southern Treasure room: Left Chest - Unlock Staff Right Chest - Hero Crest Northern Treasure room: Left Chest - Knight Crest Right Chest - Silver Sword Special conversations: Hector (Automatic) Lyn to Lucius (Before he joins) If Lyn, Kent, Sain, Florina and Wil can speak to the Caelin soldiers, they will definitely head towards the boss instead of escaping. Note: Keep at least one of the Caelin soldiers alive to access the sidequest. Different items are awarded depending on the number of soldiers that survive at the end of this chapter: 3 = Red Gem (2500G) 2 = Light Rune 1 = Mine Overview: Characters able to counterattack against the long range enemies would be useful, along with a couple of characters to take on the Knights as well. Advice: Arrange your characters so they are able to defeat the three enemies guarding the castle entrance on the first turn. Leave two Axe or Spear using characters with at least reasonable defense to guard Merlinus. Matthew can steal a Door key on the turn after, so one or two other characters can sort out the enemies to the west and open the chests; while Matthew follows your main group through the castle. Boss: Use a high strength character or one of the lords. =========================== ~ Ch.17x: The Port of Badon ~ =========================== *Arena Chapter* Objective: Reach Fargus Enemies (Davros): 1 Mage - Lv.15 w/Vulnerary 1 Shaman - Lv.17 1 Archer - Lv.8 w/Killer Bow 10 Pirates - Lv.4 x3 Lv.5 Lv.17 x5; one w/Hammer one w/Devil Axe & Vulnerary one w/Killer Axe & Vulnerary one w/Swordslayer one w/Halberd Dart, Lv.8 - Returns on a later chapter if not defeated _______________________________ "Boss": Fargus Berserker Level 18 HP 58 _____________________________ Attack 39 Critical 22 Hit 107 Avoid 43 Range 1 Atk Speed 14 _____________________________ Strength 24 Movement 6 Skill 15 Build 15 Speed 14 Aid 14 Luck 15 Defense 18 Resistance 17 _____________________________ Items carried : Killer Axe Usable Weapons: Axes(A) _______________________________ ________________________________________________ Secondary enemies (Black Fang): Arrive on turn 2. 1 Cavalier - Lv.5 1 Nomad - Lv.5 1 Troubadour - Lv.5 _______________________________ Boss: Damian Paladin Level 5 HP 34 _____________________________ Steel lance equiped: Attack 22 Critical 3 Hit 85 Avoid 8 Range 1 Atk Speed 3 Steel sword equiped: Attack 20 Critical 3 Hit 90 Avoid 12 Range 1 Atk Speed 5 _____________________________ Strength 12 Movement 8 Skill 7 Build 11 Speed 5 Aid 14 Luck 2 Defense 14 Resistance 13 _____________________________________________ Items carried : Steel lance Steel Sword Usable Weapons: Swords(A), Spears(D), Axes(E) _______________________________________________ Selectable characters: 9 Obtainable Characters: Canas - Visit northeastern house inside village Houses: Northeastern house inside village - Canas Southwestern house inside village - Devil Axe Northwestern house inside village - Short Bow House, west of village gate - Sleep Staff(B) Northwestern House - Lancereaver(C) Vendor: Heal 30 600G Mend 20 1000G Fire 40 560G Thunder 35 700G Lightning 35 630G Special conversations: Raven Note: Any character can speak to Fargus and end this chapter. Overview: The information in the Inn is to go north around the village to reach Fargus, however it is possible to confront and defeat all the enemies without casualties or using Paladins. Advice: Send any sword using character to fight the northern pirates. Use Florina to talk to Canas then fly west, staying out of range of any enemies and visit the far northwest house. For the main attacking force, you will need a characters with good strength and defense in the front (Hector, Oswin, a Cavalier) with mainly ranged attackers behind them. Blockade both upper and lower paths, making sure the enemies will not receive any terrain bonus. Damian does not have a Killing edge this time around, so just make sure whoever baits him can survive a hit. Try to eliminate as many enemies as possible on the third turn and use the southern wall for long ranged attacks as well. =============================================================================== All correspondence should be sent to: the_eternal_hog-wah@lycos.co.uk Special thanks to: Uncle Bruce - the greatest praise and respects to someone who knows everything.
