[I] Introduction ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hi. jimmythesnowman here. By now you've probably heard of all of the sad, mangled cursing and sad weepding done over the money wasted on this game. Sadly it's all true. While games have proven before that a simple concept can become great, sadly this game...is not one of them. Shooting chickens? Are you sane? OK, let's try it. *Ten minutes later* Holy crap I beat the game all ready! That is what happened to all of us...Still, I think every game, no matter how short, deserves a guide. So I wrote one for this one two. Happy hunting! Multiplayer - Connect to other people and do some competitive playing-if you can find anyone else... Options - Set up the Music Volume, SFX (Sound Effects) Volume, and choose to invert the Y axis (why do all games offer this? It's pretty much useless!) High Scores - See your High Scores Credits - Read the names of the people to blame. [3] Game Modes ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ARCADE In this mode you have to shoot a designated amount of chickens to advance the level. There is no time limit, so you can take your time. This is covered in more detail in the basic gameplay section. Also you can choose your difficulties, from easy to hard. CLASSIC This is a much more hectic mode. You have to shoot a designated amount of chickens down within the constraints of the time limit. This is covered in more detail in the basic gameplay section. Also you can choose your difficulties, from easy to hard. CATCH AN EGG A wierd tiny little minigame that takes place in the Chicken Coop. You have to move your basket into one of the 4 positions to catch eggs rolling down from their mothers' bossoms. You move the basket with the D-pad. If you don't catch an egg it will fall down to the ground and spawn a chick, who then runs away. If you let too many eggs down you lose. The more you catch the faster the eggs will roll and the less time you will have between them, until it gets really hectic with you having to seemlessy coordinate your movements between the roosts to catch them eggs. [4] Basic Gameplay ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Time for the meat of the guide, what little there is. The two game modes to play are Arcade and Classic. On Arcade, you basically shoot chickens until you reach a certain requsite and pass onto the next level. Classic is a bit more complex, but still stupifyingly simple-just shoot the chickens, shoot enough before time expires to pass onwards. You lose if the time expires or if you run out of health. Shoot down any eggs they throw at you, these are are deterimental to your health. Fire at interactive background object to gain extra points if you need them. You start out with the basic handgun. This is a short-range weapon with a clip size of 6. Fire through the first level and at some point you will see a chicken carrying a sign with a Shotgun on it. Shoot it down to gain the shotgun and start using this bigger, badder weapon. At the end there will appear a glowing chicken. Shoot it down; you need to kill it to wrap up the level and to avoid getting socked by the many eggs it throws. To restore health, shoot any food that appears in the levels. In the second level you will start to gain a degree of actual difficulty. Here there is a long screen and the trickster will shoot eggs at you that you can't even see from your position, so you have to guard against him. Here you will see a lot of shotgun-carrying chickens. Shoot them to refill your gun with more ammo. The next weapons come as you progress through the weapons. In no true set order they are the Sub Machine Gun, and the overkillish Chain Gun. Now where did this dirt farmer get that thing? They all operate the same way, but basically, the latter weapons are more leathel and longer-range then the handgun. However they all have ammo so you have to restock on them sign-carrying chickens. Also, the sub-machine gun has a very large clip size, while chain guns are OHKO (one hit KO regardless). When you shoot at a chicken but don't hit it it reverses course and goes in the other direction. Be advised. [5] The Levels ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- - The Village A short grassy map in which you can basically see all you need to see. Basic. - The Forest Keep an eye ot on the trickster that keeps shooting eggs at you from the right side of the screen, if you don't notice him he will be lethal. This map has a lot of forest obstructing your view. - Nevada Desert And I though village was plain. The only thing obtructiong your view of the desert here is the big cliff in the background. Sub Machine Guns appear here. And the chickens all fly with indian headgear. - The Docks Or something like that. What happened to Antactica? Anyway this is a large map and comes with a lot of lake-ish scenery. Introduces the Gliding and Diving chicken enemies. Did anyone but me notice that the instruction booklet never mentioned this map? - Antarctica Scratch that. Found it. Two things; all the chickens wear caps and the trickster from level 2 makes an appearance, this time on the left side of the map AND the right. Chain gun time!!! There is scenery but it doesn't really blockade your view. - Rocky Island Another water-themed map. Everyone dons sunglasses for this one. Again there is scenery but it doesn't really blockade your view of things. Return of the water chicken and appearence of the balloon chicken. - Sahara Stay in the center, by the sqhinx, to counter the trickser. Shoot at the chickens from afar. The tall pyramids and sphinxes provide a lot of cover for them so you have to drive them out. [6] Now What? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Gasp, you're back? What, got bored of the game? But it only lasted you 10 minutes! Well, the only thing left to do is to try some other mode, get some high scores, epically fail at Catch an Egg, and then chuck this game out the window for being so darn bad. [7] The Enemies ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fat Chicken A fat mother chicken. Beware of them, as they tend to throw eggs the most. That plumpness makes them easy to hit right where the babies are ;) Scrawny Chicken A scrawny guy chicken. He's so scrawny he's hard to hit. They tend to make faces the most. Airplane Chicken A chicken in a brightly colored airplane. Shoot his ride and he will smoke back down the ground, where he belongs. Trickster The most dangerous enemy in the game. If you don't spot him he will egg you out! Diving Chicken Only appears in two levels, the docks and rocky island. Hard to hit and seperate from everything else, doesn't throw so you might as well ignore him. Gliding Chicken Appears first in the docks and last for the rest of the short game. Moves fast and at a distance, but doesn't throw; in other words, ignorable. Balloon Chicken Only appears in the docks. Slow-moving but difficult to down as they always appear in the far background. [8] FAQ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Q: Gah! I suck at Catch An Egg! How do I get better? ...You're still playing this game? Q: I keep losing on the second level! Go to the right part of the map and you will see the cause-an easily missable egg-throwing trickster by the log. Q: Are there really only 6 levels? No, there are really only 7. For some reason the tiny booklet (or rather leaflet) that comes with the game leaves out the docks level. Q: Is this game even legal? Hmm. Shooting chickens? Insane. Chain guns? Hell, that's REAL illegal anywhere. And overkill :P Q: Who do I blame for this mess? Go to credits and write down their names. Then hunt them down one by one or whatever. Q: Which version of the game is the best. They are all the exact same. But the DS version is the best simply because it's portable! You'de think they'd try to upgrade for the avanced Wii graphics, but no. The same guide stretches even to the MOBILE department. Q: Why is this guide so short? Think of it as a representation of the time and fun to be found in this game. Q: ...I think I'm questioning my sanity. Me too buddy. But that's not a question is it? Q: When will this FAQ end? Good question. Now. [L] Legal Bit ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This guide is (C) 2009 jimmythesnowman.
