What's New -= -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Version 1.1 (9/27/02): A small addition was added regarding a dropped item, thanks to Kindefeld. Version 1.0 (6/19/02): Here is the final version of my FAQ! It includes all the information you'll need to get through the game, and then some. There are still some dropped items yet to be discovered from quite a few enemies, so if you have something I don't, please let me know! Version 0.9 (6/17/02): This is the update where the walkthrough is totally complete! I'm still missing little tidbits here and there, which I will get to adding before I mark this file as FINAL. Version 0.6 (6/14/02): This "official" update is much larger than the previous versions by a longshot. I have obviously put much work into this guide, and it will be completed soon! Version 0.2 (6/9/02): Got alot more added since the first version. I'm still working on it, so expect more updates in the coming days. Version 0.1 (6/5/02): The first version of this FAQ. This is a VERY basic version of my new FAQ, but it will be done in due time, as always. ***************************************************************************** -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= -= 2. Introduction -= -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= The second installment to the Castlevania franchise on Gameboy Advance has arrived. This title plays like Circle of the Moon, but has all new weapons, items, places to go, etc. The old DSS card system is gone, and a system of using magic spells/relics has been implemented (sorta like Symphony of the Night). This game is one of the better Castlevania games I've played, so if you'd like, import/download it now, or wait until September 2002 for the US release. ***************************************************************************** -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= -= 3. Story -= -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Fifty years have passed since Simon Belmont's quest against Dracula's curse. The current heir of the Belmont family, Juste, has stepped into the role by hunting Dracula's long lost relics. Maxim, a family friend who had renounced the Belmonts' code of honor on this very night two years ago, recently returned, battered from head to toe. Gasping and writhing in pain, he struggled to speak the unbelievable truth: Lydie, a childhood friend, has been abducted. Remembering his past connection with the Belmont family, Maxim managed to guide Juste to the scene of the crime. An ominous shape began to materialize out of the fog... Could it be the fabled castle of Dracula? Slipping in and out of the darkness under the shimmering moonlight, the castle silently beckons this new guest... ***************************************************************************** -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= -= 4. Walkthrough -= -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= ======== Castle A ======== Introduction ------------ This game opens with your main character, Juste, talking to another man known as Maxim. It appears that Maxim had been stabbed, and you must help him. When you have control of Juste for the first time, head eastward. Jump over the pile of junk along the way, and touch the far edge of the screen. The junk will rise, revealing a giant robot-like creature that chases you. Simply dash to the right through here, and you'll reach the bridge. Cross it, then it'll raise up, causing the creature to drop into a pit to its doom. Now, head through the door into the castle itself. Entrance -------- In this opening area of the castle, head east and you'll come to a statue blocking your path. Whip it and it'll break, causing steps to come down. Go up the steps and continue east into the next room. There, go east and defeat some Zombies. About halfway through the room, you'll notice a thin floorboard you can drop through; stand on it and press Down + A to fall into the next room. Here, simply head downward and pick up the first Life Max Up upgrade! Now, go back up to the previous room and head west. You'll find a hole in the ceiling with a ledge just below it. Jump onto the ledge and up into the next room. Land on the west ledge and grab the Leather Boots there (be sure to equip it on Juste's legs immediately). Go east and defeat the Skeletons, then into the room at the end. There, grab the Soul Orb relic. Now, make your way back west and south to the room where you found the Zombies. Go west into the first room of the castle. You'll see a hole in the ceiling you can jump through. Jump onto the ledge and into that room. Land on the east ledge and grab the Leather Armor, then continue northwest up the steps. Go west and defeat the Bats, then jump up the ledges and enter the following room. In this room, grab the Potion on the west ledge, then go east and north through here. Continue northward while defeating the Skeletons and Armor Knights along the way. You can grab another Potion on the way up as well. When you make it to the northmost area, jump up the ledges and into another room. There, take the west path into your first Save Room. Stand in the middle of the room and press Up to recover your health/save your game. After you do that, leave the Save Room and head east. Defeat the Skeletons you encounter, then jump onto the ledge in the air halfway through the room. Jump up through the ceiling into another room. Land on the east ledge and grab the first Heart Max Increase. Since there's noplace else of interest for you to visit at this time, drop back down to the previous room. Drop through the small ledge to the floor and go east to the door; go through it to reach the next room, which is the Corridor of Marble. Corridor of Marble ------------------ Here, head east and defeat the Skeletons, as well as the Skeleton Soldiers. Continue into the next room, where you will meet Death. After some dialogue, Death will disappear. Continue east into the next room. Go east and jump over the small pit and grab the Castle Map 1. This allows you to see a small amount of the full castle map (press Select to view). Anyway, make your way north through this room, defeating the Spearmen along the way. At the top, go through the west doorway into the next room. There, jump onto the upper ledge in front of you, then onto the next one with a crate on it. Push the crate east so it drops to the floor below. Push it west when you knock it down, then when you can't push it any further to the west, jump on it and onto the higher ledge. Go northwest and defeat the Armor Knight on the following ledge. From there, continue east, north, and west, defeating the Armor Knights along the way. At the end, go west into another room. There, grab another Heart Max Increase, as well as the Ice Book. Now, backtrack a couple rooms until you come to the large room with all the Armor Knights. You should arrive in the northwest corner of that room. From where you are, head east and take the northeast path into another room. There, head southward to the bottom of the room, then continue east to the next area. In this room, go east and defeat the small hopping enemy, and continue to the middle of the room. There, you have to option of going northward, so jump on the ledge and go north into the next room. There, go west into a Save Room. Save/recover, then leave the room. Head all the way east through this room while defeating the Medusa Heads along the way. Grab the Leather Glove on the floor and continue into the next room. Here, stay in the top area of the room and head east. You'll find a Red Stone in a small alcove in the northeast area of the room; be sure to equip that on Juste's whip immediately! Now, get to the bottom-most section of this room, then enter the southwest door into the following room. Here, the room will be dark, so continue onward and the Giant Bat boss will appear. Read the Bosses section for help winning if needed. After the fight, take the orb that falls to recover your HP, then head west to the next room. There, continue all the way west into the following room. In this room, jump up the ledges and head northward, then west into another room at the top. Drop down to the bottom of this large room, and then through a hole in the floor to a new room. Make your way all the way to the bottom of this chamber, grabbing the Potion along the way. At the bottom, take the west door into the Room of Illusion. Room of Illusion ---------------- In here, go west and defeat the Lizardmen for some good experience. At the end, take the HP Max Increase upgrade you find. Now, go back to the previous room, and this time enter the east door. In that room, follow the paths around as you make your way to the bottom of the room. Defeat the Medusa Heads along the way, and make sure you take the Bandana on a ledge you pass. Since you cannot find anything of interest further ahead for now (come back later with the Lizard Tail to slide under the wall for a Hearts Max Increase upgrade), head back to the previous room. Corridor of Marble ------------------ Back in the narrow vertical room, go up the steps and jump ledges to reach the room to the north. From there, head east 3 rooms to the large room after the one where you fought Giant Bat. Once there, continue eastward into another large room. Go forward and defeat the Skeleton Soldiers, then go up the steps. You'll see a ledge sticking out to the west; jump onto it and head west on it. Go west and north, then up more steps. You'll notice an Antidote and a Heart Max Increase item on 2 different ledges. You can reach the Antidote now, but you'll need to come back here later for the Heart Max. Anyway, continue up the steps and eastward to find a Heart Max Increase you can take now. After that, go all the way back south and west out of this room. Go west and you'll see a pit in the floor below; drop down into another room. There, go east and grab the Fairy Journal relic floating in the air. Now you can view the names of enemies when you fight them. Now, continue east through the door into the Approach of Deplore. Approach of Deplore ------------------- In this new area, head east and drop down into the following room. Here, drop down to a ledge below you, then take the path east into a new room. Defeat the Big Spirit and take the Monster Tome relic there. Leave the room and make your way westward until you reach the northwest corner of the room. Jump up the ledges and take the Mana Prism, used to recover MP. Drop down to the ground, and continue west through the door into the next room. Defeat the Bone Heads up ahead, then jump up the ledges to reach a Potion. There is nothing of interest up ahead for now, so simply head to the southeast area of the room. There, go through the east door into the next room. In this room, go forward and drop down into a small alcove. Take the Silk Cape and equip it. There is also a HP Max Increase upgrade in the northeast area of the room, but you need the Sylph Feather to reach there, so come back later for it. Anyway, go northward by jumping up ledges to reach the top. Then, drop down the other side of the wall, grab the Meat, and go east into the next room. Here, defeat the Lizardman and take the Heart Max Increase up ahead, then go back to the previous room. Make your way up and over the wall, then westward to the following room. Keep going west until you reach a pit; drop into it to reach a new room. Go east through this and the following empty rooms, being sure to take the Potion at the end. Then, drop down into a new room. There, go down the steps and defeat the Lizardman, then drop into the first pit to the room below. There, head all the way east as far as you can go. There's a HP Max Increase, which you can get after obtaining the Lizard Tail, so remember that. For now, just up the ledges into another room, then in that room, go east and grab the Opal off the ledge at the end. Now, head west through this room and defeat the Lizardman, then go upstairs into another room. There, go east and beat the tough Victory Armor enemy for some good experience. Then, drop through the thin floor at the end to reach a new room where you find the Circle of Energy for your whip. Equip it, then backtrack a couple rooms to the one with the Lizardmen. From where you arrive there, go down the steps and drop to the floor, then go east and drop through the floor to reach the following room. Drop through a few more ledges and continue all the way westward through this area until you reach the doorway. Continue into a new room through there. In this room, follow the path all the way to the top of the room by means of hopping up ledges and defeating Bone Heads. At the northwest area of the room, simply jump across to the doorway and enter another room. In this room, go west and defeat the Lizardman, Stone Armor, and White Dragon enemies you encounter. After you pass the White Dragon, pick up a HP Max Increase item. Next, head all the way back through this room and you'll see a section of the floor you can drop through. So, drop down into the room below. There, take the east door into a Save Room; take advantage of this save and recovery point, you'll need it by now. After you're done, exit there and continue west to meet Maxim again. After some quick dialogue, he runs away. Progress forward, being sure to hit the candleabra hanging on the wall to get Holy Water as your subweapon (it helps for the upcoming fight). Then, gp ahead and continue west through the door into the boss room. Go west to find the Giant Armor (you should remember this one from the beginning of the game). Read the Bosses section if you need help with winning here. After you win, take the orb to recover your HP/MP and continue into the following room, which is the Heretic's Grave. Heretic's Grave --------------- In this area, grab the Lizard Tail relic, which allows you to slide! Now would be a good time to consult the Max Increase Items section and see what you can pick up now that you have a new relic. Before we continue, head to the second Save Room in the Corridor of Marble (it's the middle one on the map since you should only have uncovered 3 such rooms so far). Corridor of Marble ------------------ From this Save Room, exit it and jump up the ledges going north into another room. There, go east and slide under the wall, then progress into a room you can now access. Grab the Fire Book, as well as the Thin Clothes. Now it's time to make your way to the Room of Illusion (it's a group of rooms southwest of your current position, but with emptiness surrounding it; if you have trouble reaching there, consult an earlier area of the walkthrough). Room of Illusion ---------------- In this area, take the east path into the next room, then make your way south and west through that room. In the following room, go west and defeat Zombies, then slide under the wall at the end and grab the Heart Max item. Continue into the next room, where you'll find it to be a Warp Room. Use it by pressing Up (be sure to pick up the Charm sitting there, too). You'll reappear in a new area of the castle. Castle's Treasury ----------------- Here, exit the Warp Room to the east. In this first main room, defeat the boomerang-throwing Skeleton Rib enemies along the way. Continue eastward into the new room at the end of the hall. Grab the Potion in the corner, then jump up the ledges to reach the very top of the room. From there, take the west path into the next room (we'll be back here shortly; just taking the west way for the meantime). In that room, drop into the first pit into another room. Go west and defeat the difficult Feather Demon enemy, then take the HP Max Increase item it was guarding (if you don't want to fight, try to slide past and grab it for minimal damage). Go back up to the previous room, then continue west and defeat the Skeleton Blaze enemies you encounter. Continue west and into the next room. There, go west and take the Wrist Band on the west ledge. Continue downward through this room, defeating the Spirits and Skeleton Frails. Also, grab the Uncurse item on the following ledge. At the end, drop through the thin floor and into another room. Take the west path first into a room with a Hearts Max Increase item. Then, go back and take the east path into a Save Room. After you're done there, leave the room and backtrack a couple rooms. Go back to the room where you took the west path and I said you'll be returning there shortly. Go to that room, and this time go east into a new room. There, jump over the pit and defeat the Zombies, Peeping Eyes, and Bomb Armors while heading eastward. When you come to ledges in the air below a hole in the ceiling, jump onto it and up into another room. In this room, make your way up to the very top, defeating the Skeletons and Ectoplasm along the way. At the top, take the Cross Armor, making sure to equip that since it's helpful for you now. Then, go back down to the previous room. Back there, continue east to the end, then drop into another room. In this room, go west and defeat the Skeleton Soldiers, Peeping Eyes, and Bomb Armors here. At the end, take the Chair, then head all the way back east. Drop into a pit you passed before into a new room. There, go all the way east, defeating the Skeleton Frail and Ectoplasm enemies along the way. When you come to an area of thin floor, drop through it into another room. Make your way south through this room. Pass the first door to the west and continue to the bottom. At the bottom, enter the west room, which is Juste's Room. It will start off as being empty, except for the Chair you just found moments earlier. You can come back here anytime to further furnish the room with more collectibles you obtain. Anyway, leave here and go back north to the first door you passed, and go west into that room. There, continue all the way west while defeating the Skeleton Ribs and Peeping Eyes. At the end, go through the door to enter the Cave of Skeletons. Cave of Skeletons ----------------- Here, simply go from ledge to ledge to reach the bottom of the room, all while defeating some Skeletons as you pass. Continue down into the next room. Drop through a few thin ledges, then take the path east. Defeat the Skeleton Spider you encounter. At the next path split, go north and west and defeat a few Skeleton Soldiers, then grab the Foot Guard. Go back east and drop through the ledges, then continue dropping through the ledges until you come to the bottom. Then, go west and down the steps and continue west to the end. Jump up the ledges at the end to get a Potion, then drop through the pit into a new room. Go west for now (come back here later to go east and into another room where you can find a Heart Max Increase item, provided you have the Sylph Feather). Since there's really nothing you can do down here currently (until you have at least the Sylph Feather and later the Crushing Stone), backtrack a couple rooms to the top of the second room in this area, below the vertical room with the Skeletons (where you went east instead of west). Get there, then go west into a new room. There, go west and defeat the Skeleton Spear enemy. Jump on the ledge to reach the higher platform, then defeat another Skeleton Spear and take the Side Table collectible. Now, go back down to the lower floor and continue west. You'll see a giant skull; drop through the ledge to the left of it and whip it to get it rolling down the hill. When it stops, go down the hill and use it as a stepping stone to reach the high ledge. Then, follow the path east, south, and west into the following room. In that room, go west and defeat the Skeleton Ape enemy. Go up the hill to reach the higher ledge, then go east and defeat another enemy. Whip the stick holding the giant skull up to make it fall, allowing you access. Continue west and north to the top of the room, but before you go through the door, jump to the top ledge and go east. Defeat the Skeleton Ape and take the Deer Mount collectible. Then, go west into the next room. In this next room, go west and you'll come to a giant swinging blade pendulum. When it's at its peak when it swings to the west, slide under it. Then, continue west and you'll meet with Maxim again. After some dialogue, Maxim will laugh and run off. Go into the next room. There, make your way around this room while defeating the Red Skeletons and Skeleton Ribs. At the end, head west into the next room. In that Save Room, save/recover, then continue west to the following room. There, make your way around here just like the previous room, defeating Skeleton Apes and Skeleton Frails. At the end, go through the door into the boss room. Walk past the shaking shield on the floor and the Skeleton Knight will rise. Read the Bosses section for help on defeating this boss. After this battle, recover via the orb that falls from the ceiling. Then, continue into the next room and claim the Sylph Feather relic! Now would be a good time to consult the Max Increase items list to see what you needed the Sylph Feather to reach, and claim those items now. When you're ready to continue, from the room where you got this relic, go back to the previous room, then continue east to the following room. Get to the northeast corner of the room, then double jump to the high ledge and continue into a new room. There, go east into yet another room. Defeat the Big Skeleton and move on to the next room; defeat the 4 Throw Masters and continue into the last room. There, drop down into one more room where you'll find a HP Max Increase item. Now, go back up to the previous room, and make your way all the west through 5 rooms, until you reach the end of the line. In that end room, drop down the ledges while defeating the Flying Skeleton enemies along the way. At the bottom, go west into the next room. Go west there and whip the wooden board to lower the giant rock structure so you can jump onto it. Make your way all the way north through this room while defeating the Throw Masters. When you reach the end, take the Leather Cap. Since there's noplace further you can visit here at this point, backtrack a few rooms and make your way to the Save Room (consult the map if you need help). Once there, it's time to backtrack a bit more; this time to Juste's Room. When you get there, redecorate with the new collectibles you've found, then exit the room. Castle's Treasury ----------------- Outside of Juste's Room, jump up the ledges to the top and go through the ceiling into another room. In this long hall, take the east path to reach a new room. There, double jump to the upper ledge next to the elevator. Enter the elevator and press Up to make it pull you upward. Go all the way to the top of the room in this manner, then go east and north into the next room. Jump up the ledges to reach the top of this room as well, then double jump to a high ledge with a Heart Max Increase item on it. Then, continue west and over the pit, and take the Padded Armor in the northwest corner of the room. Your work here is done for now, so go back east and south to exit here. Here, go west to the elevator and ride it to the bottom of this room. Then, continue south to the following room. Go west here until you reach the thin floor; drop through it into the following room. There, drop down a few ledges to the middle intersection. This time, go through the east door into the Moss-Grown Cave. Moss-Grown Cave --------------- In this new area, head east and defeat the Axe Armor and Bat enemies until you reach the end, then go into the next room. There, make your way northward through this room, defeating the same enemies as in the previous room. At the top, go east into the next room. Here, go east and take the first path north into another room. Go up the ledges to reach the top of the room, then take the Turquoise. Now, go back to the previous room below. Go all the way east through here this time. Defeat the Meal Flowers and Witches as you progress through here. At the end, go into the next room, which is a Save Room. Now is a great time to save/recover, you'll need it by now probably. When you're done, go east to the next room. Here, go east and up the hill, then back west and north through here. Get to the northeast area of the room, where you'll find the Wise Man's Sculpture, which is a collectible for Juste's room. Now, go back south and west towards the entrance of this room. You'll notice a path going east in the middle of the room; that room it leads to is irrelevant, unless you want the single Potion found there. Anyway, make your way all the way south, but instead of taking the path west the same way you came, go all the way east, then southwest down a new path. Go south and drop into a new room. There, head all the way west to the end, then drop down into another room. In that room, defeat the Small Slime, Slime, and Scarecrow enemies as you go east into the following room. In the next room, continue east and defeat some Bone Heads and Sirens as you make your way around this winding path. Grab the Utensils on the ledge to the east, then continue to the southwest corner where you continue into the next room. Here, go west and jump across the ledges to reach a crate in the middle of the area. Start by pushing it east until it falls, then push it west to make it go to the third level down. Push it to the east, then west and over a switch to open a door further ahead. Go west through the opened door and continue into the next room, where you'll find a HP Max Increase item! Now, go back to the previous room. There is a path in the southeast area leading to an empty room for now, so simply continue northeast into the following room. Continue through the next few rooms until you're back in the long room above the one with the Slimes. In that room when you get there, follow the path all the way east this time. At the end, go through the door into the boss's room. Go forward and you'll encounter the Golem boss. Read the Bosses section for help winning this fight. After you win, take the recovery orb and continue eastward into a new room. There, hit the switch on the wall and the room will start to fill with liquid, causing the platform you're standing on to float upward. Ride it to the top while avoiding the spikes underneath the leges on the way up. At the top, go west and into the next room. Defeat the various Slime enemies and continue into another room. There, take the Mirror collectible, as well as the Yellow Stone. Equip the Yellow Stone to your whip, then exit the room. Now it is time to backtrack a bunch of rooms again. Consult your map and get to the Save Room several rooms back. Once there, save/recover, then exit to the west. Head all the way west and drop into the first pit you reach to enter another room. Go west through here, defeating the Witches you meet. At the end, drop down into the next room. At this path split, go east and defeat an Axe Armor, then grab the Heart Max Increase item it was guarding. Next, head all the way to the west and defeat a few more Axe Armors. Drop through several thin platforms to the area below. Grab a Hi Potion at the very bottom, then head east into the next room. In that room, continue east and defeat a bunch of Scarecrows, then continue into the following room at the end. There in the next room, head north by jumping up the ledges and defeating the 2 Sirens along the way. At the top, go west into the next room. Defeat a Meal Flower and continue westward to yet another room. Here is another Warp Room; press Up and you'll be taken to a new area of the castle. Once there, go east out of this room, into the Corridor in the Air. Corridor in the Air ------------------- In this new area, go east and you'll meet Maxim once again. After a bit of talking, Maxim will run past you and leave. Continue into the next room. Go down the steps and be careful of defeating the Balloons floating overhead. If you destroy one, its spores will shoot out, poisoning you on contact, so be careful! At the path split, go south and drop through the thin ledge to the lowest area. Go west and avoid/defeat the Flying Skeletons and Balloons, then take the HP Max Increase item at the end. Now, go back east and north to where you were, then jump up the ledges. Take a Hi Potion on a ledge to the northwest, then continue northward to the top of the room. Defeat the Big Balloon and the regular Balloons that come out upon defeat. Continue northwest to a really high ledge (double jump to reach it) to get an Antidote. Then, head east and into the next room. Here, go east and down the stairs a short distance, then jump over to the ledge you see. Go east and slide under the wall and defeat the Archer Skeletons, then jump up the ledges above you and enter another room. Go west and defeat the Balloons there, then continue west into the Chapel of the Heretic. Chapel of the Heretic --------------------- Here, go west and north at the end into another room. Follow the path all the way through this room while defeating the Archer Skeletons along the way. At the northeast area where you should end up, go north into a new room. Go west through this empty hallway, then jump up the ledges at the end and enter the north room. There, jump onto the right ledge and take the Antidote, then head west and defeat the Throw Masters. Continue into the following room at the end, then in that room, start by going all the way to the east wall. Jump up the many ledges and continue directly northward while avoiding the Flying Skeletons. Double jump to a high ledge at the top to reach a Heart Max Increase item. Next, drop through the one thin platform separating this little room with the upgrade from the rest of the area. Then, jump to the west and go up the steps. Defeat the first set of Bone Heads, then jump up and right to another ledge. Take the Verdant Mantle there, and continue west and up the steps. At the top, continue west to the locked door. From there, jump up the ledges directly above you to the very top of the room, where you will find a Potion and a HP Max Increase item. Since there is nothing more of interest here to collect at the moment, it's time to backtrack through the last bunch of rooms. Backtrack all the way to the Corridor in the Air again, into the first room you saw the Archer Skeletons. Corridor in the Air ------------------- When you're back in that room, continue northeast through here. Don't take the path going directly east yet; instead go northeast and north into another room. Go east and defeat the Balloons and White Dragon at the end, then take the X-Potion. Go back west and jump up the ledges until you reach a path split. Jump up to the east ledge and go east, then north to the top. Grab the Silver Ornament collectible at the top, then drop back down and go back west to the split. This time, jump across and go north on that side. Defeat the Balloons and get to the top, where you'll find the Gold Ornament collectible. Now, head all the way south and into the previous room. Go all the way south and make your way to the southeast corner of the room. Go east into another room, which is a Save Room. Save and recover there, then go back to the previous room. Get to the northeast area of the room, then go east and through that door. In this next room, you'll fight the Devil, so read the Bosses section for help winning. After you win, take the recovery orb and go east into the next room. Double jump to the high ledge to get the Dark Glasses, then go back into the boss room. Before progressing to the Clockwork Tower, there is another place to go. Go back to the next room from here, then south to the Save Room. Save and recover again if needed, then leave that room and drop down to the south into another new room. There, go west and defeat the Ruler Sword, being careful of the flying objects that surround it. Continue west and drop through the thin floor into the dark room below. As soon as you enter this room, equip the Dark Glasses so you can see slightly better. Then, go east and drop down to a lower area, then go west. Collect the Face Guard, then go east and jump onto the higher ledge. Continue east through this room to the end while avoiding the spikes. At the end, drop down into the next dark room. There, drop down a few ledges and slide under the east wall. Take the Hint Card 2, then slide back under the wall and head west. Make your way across a bunch of spike pits, and you'll come to a path split of sorts where you can take the upper (spiky) path, or slide under the wall. Slide under it and take the Chaos Ring, then slide to the west and continue to the next room, which is the Waterway of Aquatic. Waterway of Aquatic ------------------- Here, go south by dropping from ledge to ledge. At the bottom, drop through the floor into the next room. There, head east and defeat the Fishman enemies that jump out from the water below. At the far end of the room, drop through the thin floor into another room. Here, head west and defeat the Merman enemies, picking up the Heart Max Increase upgrade at the end. Then, head all the way east to the end and go through the east door into the next room. Here, continue eastward and defeat the enemies you come across. You'll come to a part with 4 guillotine blades hanging from the ceiling. Dash underneath them all quickly, then whip the candleabra to get $250, and collect the Blue Stone on the ledge. Now, go back west into the previous room. There, jump up the ledges in front of you and enter the room above you. Head through the west doorway there into a Save Room, where you can save/recover. Be sure to do so, then leave this room and continue eastward to the boss door. Go through into the boss room where you will meet the Giant Merman. Read the Bosses section for help with beating this one. After the fight, take the orb and go to the next room. Grab the HP Max Increase and Heart Max Increase upgrades there, then continue into the following room, which is the Clockwork Tower. Clockwork Tower --------------- Here, start by jumping up a couple ledges until you reach the first path leading west into another room. Take that path into the next room, then go west and defeat the 2 Big Skeletons there. Continue into the next room, then go north and east into yet another new room. Defeat the group of Bone Heads and take the Heart Max Increase item there. Now, backtrack a few rooms to the first room of the tower. From there, continue northward all the way into the next room. In that room, step on the switch to the left to open the door to the right. Continue east and defeat the Specter enemies along the way. At the end, go up into the next room. There, head west across this room by jumping across swinging pendulums; that's the only way to safely cross the spike pits, so why not? At the end where there is a split, drop down into the next room. Drop some Holy Water into the Fleaman pit (provided you have it), then collect the Castle Map 3. Go back up to the previous room, then go west into that one. In this tall room, drop down to the very bottom of the room while defeating the Harpy enemies flying around. Grab the Burgeonet, then make your way back up through this room. Once you get to the very top of the room with some assistance from the gear further ahead, go east into the next room. Head north through here, defeating the Gold Heads along the way. At the top, take the Hint Card 4, then go back down to the previous room. Drop down a few ledges here until you reach the next east door. Go through that doorway to reach another room. Go east and defeat the Harpies until you reach some ledges a little further into the room. Jump up them to reach the above room, then take the HP Max Increase item there. Go back down to the previous room, then go all the way to the east end, defeating Harpies along the way. Defeat the Disk Armor and take the Scale Armor it was guarding. Now, head back west a bit until you reach a pit. Drop down it into the room below. Defeat the Fleaman and Disk Armor enemies around, then continue east into the following room. Defeat the Ruler Sword LV2 there, then continue to the next room. Make your way upward through this room, defeating the Gold Heads and Harpies along the way. When you reach the first doorway to the east, enter that room. Go east and drop through the floor, and continue to the very bottom of the area while defeating the Harpies and White Dragon here. At the bottom, take the Fancy Table collectible. Now, go back to the top of this room, then go east into another room. Make your way north, east, and south through here, then east into the following room. Go east and you'll find a Guardian Armor enemy that you cannot damage. Its legs seem to be weak, so constantly whip its legs to make it back up a bit. Repeat that until you reach the back wall where the enemy will fall into the gears and destruct, spitting out all its armor. Pick up the Guardian Armor, Helm, Boots, and Glove (equip all parts immediately). After collecting/equipping your new treasures, it's time to backtrack again. Go back to the first vertical room (the one following the room with the Ruler Sword LV2). From there, continue north through the room and go east at the next stop. That is a Save Room, so be sure to save/recover here. When you're done, exit and continue to the top of the room. Go through the east door into another boss room. You will fight the Max Slimer here, so read the Bosses section for help beating this boss. After defeating the boss, take the orb and go east into the next room. Head north up the ledges and defeat the Harpies flying around. When you reach the first doorway to the west, enter that room. Defeat the 2 Feather Demons here, then grab the Green Stone to the far left. Now, go back to the previous room and continue northward. Defeat another Harpy or two as you reach the top, then go west at the top into a new room. There you will encounter Death again. After some talk here, where you will learn of another identical castle you can warp to and from using special warps such as the one in this current room. After Death leaves, activate the warp by standing in front of it and pressing Up, and you will be sent to the same room in the identical castle. ======== Castle B ======== Clockwork Tower --------------- When you arrive in the other castle, exit to the east. Drop down a few ledges and you'll see a doorway leading into a west room. Enter that room and defeat the Armor Fleaman and Peeping Eye enemies. Take the HP Max Increase item at the end, then go back to the previous room. Continue downward to the bottom of the room, then enter the room to the west. Defeat the Skeleton Blazes and continue into the following room. Go up to the northwest ledge and take the Large Clock collectible sitting there, then head southward through this room. You'll come to a doorway leading into an east room; enter that room for it is a Save Room. Save and recover, then exit. From there, continue south to another room to the east. Enter that room, and in there, continue across the hall into the following room. In that next room, go ahead and whip the giant gear a few times to open a hole in the ceiling for you to jump through. Head north and east, then south and east into another room. Go east and defeat the Disk Armor and the Screw Dragon, then take the Heart Max Increase item sitting there on the ledge. After that, go back a few rooms and into the Save Room. Save/recover again, then exit the room and head all the way to the bottom of the room. There, go west into the next room, which appears to be a boss room. Defeat the Peeping Eye in here, then turn around and the giant Peeping Big boss will appear. Read the Bosses section for help beating this boss. After you win, take the orb and head west into the next room. There, pick up the HP Max Increase item shortly after entering the room. Defeat the Arabahakis flying around if you want, otherwise jump up the ledges and enter the room above. There, go east and defeat the Spirits and Specters, then take the X-Potion at the far right area. Head back west and you'll come to a couple ledges leading to another room to the north. Go up to that room and take the Squall Mantle, then go back down to the previous room. Continue west into another room. In this next room, head north to the top ledge of the room, then go into the room to the east. Head up the ledges to the top here, and take the Kaiser Knuckle there. Now, go back down to the previous room, then continue west to the top of the next vertical room. Here, drop down a bunch of ledges and you'll come to an intersection with a door to the left and an open path to the right. Go through the west door into another room, which is the Corridor in the Air. Corridor in the Air ------------------- Here, jump up the ledges and collect the Mana Prism at the top, then go through the boss door to the west. In this room you will meet the Legion, so read the Bosses section for help winning here. When you win, take the orb to recover and head west into the following room. Defeat the Arabahaki that comes your way, then jump up to the ledges above you and enter the room to the north. Head directly north and up the ledges to a path split. Take the path to the east, defeating the Axe Armor II and Flying Skeleton enemies you meet along the way. Go east and north to the top of that section to find a Heart Max Increase item. Go back down and west, then take the west path northward. Defeat the enemies and take the King Size Bed collectible at the top. Now, go back south to the previous room. Here again, head all the way south and east to the southeast corner of the room. Go east into a Save Room there; save and recover, then exit the room. Make your way to the top of the room towards the middle area (where you can slide under the wall). Go north from there and into another room. There, go west and defeat the Spligun and continue into the next room, which is the Chapel of the Heretic. Chapel of the Heretic --------------------- Here, simply go west and north into the next room. Follow the path around and up through this enemy-less room. Grab the Hi Potion towards the end, then go north into the following room. There, go west and defeat the Skeleton Spears, then go north at the end into another room. Go west in this next room, defeating the Axe Armor II enemies, then go north into the chapel itself. There, go east to start, then up a bunch of ledges. Defeat the Specters and continue northward. Double jump to the highest ledges, and take the Hero's Sculpure collectible, then go back down a few ledges. Jump to the west and go up the steps, defeating another Specter that you come across. When you're about halfway up the stairs, double jump to a ledge with the Heart Max Increase item on it. After that, continue west to the top of the steps. Double jump to the ledge to the northeast, and follow that path going east. Take the Hint Card 6 at the end of the path. There is a HP Max Increase bottle on a high ledge, but you can't reach it now, so you'll have to come back later with the Griffin's Wing to reach there. For now, go back west to the locked door at the top of the steps. Jump up the ledges directly above you, then at the top, take the Hi Mana Prism. Now, get all the way to the bottom of this large room again. It is time to do a bit of backtracking again. Make your way back through the last bunch of rooms you came through, until you're back in the room with the Arahabakis, in the Corridor in the Air. Corridor in the Air ------------------- From where you arrive here, drop through the ledges and head west. Continue west into the next room. Go all the way west through here and take the northwest path this time into the following room. In this room, drop through the thin floors and get to the very bottom area of the room. Pick up the Vibrating Chair collectible, as well as the Old Radio to the west of the chair. Now, go back east and up a couple ledges. In the middle of the room, go west on a ledge and take the Blizzard Robe. Then, make your way to the west side of the room. There are 2 paths you can take into a room to the west. Take the bottom path west into the next room. In that room, defeat the Ruler Sword LV3, then continue to the following room. There, take another Heart Max Increase item. Now, backtrack 2 rooms to the large room. Since you can't go far in the northwest room right now, it's time to go elsewhere. Go back to the large room to the east, and head to the southeast corner. Enter the room to the east there. Save and recover in that room, then exit and drop down the pit into another room. There, head all the way west, defeating the Axe Armor II enemies along the way. At the end, jump up to the ledge and take the Large Meat, then drop down into the room below. In this room, head east and watch out for the Skeleton Mirror enemies that jump out of certain mirrors as you walk past. Defeat them if you want, then at the end, drop down into yet another room. Go west through there, beating more Skeleton Mirrors, then go through the door at the end into the Waterway of Aquatic. Waterway of Aquatic ------------------- Here, defeat the Skeleton Liquid enemies as you make your way southward. At the bottom of the room, drop through the thin floor into the next room. There, go east and defeat the Melty Zombies you come across. Drop through the thin floor at the end to reach the following room below you. In that room, go west and defeat more Melty Zombies, then take the X-Potion at the end. Now, head all the way eastward to the end. For now, go east into the next room. There, head all the way east, defeating the Melty Zombies and Arabahakis along the way. At the end, grab the HP Max Increase item. Now, head back to the previous room. This time, drop through the floor into the room below. In this room, simply go west and into the following room. There, jump onto the ledge in front of you and take the Uncurse. Then, head south by dropping down the ledges, defeating the Skeleton Liquids on the way. At the bottom, go west into the next room. There, go west and defeat the White Dragon hanging on the wall. Then, double jump into a totally secret passage in the upper section of the wall. Go west into a hidden room, where you'll find the HP Max Increase bottle. Now, backtrack a few rooms back to the room where you can head east, north, or south. This time, go into the north room. In that new room, go west into a Save Room. After you're done saving/recovering, exit the Save Room. Head east through that next room and continue into the following room as well. There, defeat the Fishmen and Mermen you find, then progress to the next room. In this room, defeat the Small Slimes and Skeleton Liquids, then continue into the next room, which is the Clockwork Tower. Clockwork Tower --------------- Here again, head north through the area, defeating the Skeleton Ribs along the way. When you come to a ledge with a doorway leading into a west room, enter that new room. In this room, go west and defeat the Disk Armor II here, then go north at the end into another room. There, take the Invincible Pot on the left ledge, then go east into the following room. Here you'll see a giant screw, so whip it continuously until the plug on it snaps into the base. When that happens, go back a few rooms to the vertical room with the Skeleton Ribs. Back in that room, continue north into the next room at the top. Go east there and defeat the Armor Fleaman and Disk Armor II enemies you find. At the end, go north into the next room. Take the Hi Potion, then head west by jumping across swinging pendulums over the spike pits. Be sure to take the Hyper Mana Prism halfway through the room as well. At the end, drop down into the room below. You can now access the treasure here, so go down and slide under the wall to claim the Crash Stone upgrade for your whip! Now you can destroy certain walls blocking your path in some rooms (must be equipped on your whip to use). Now, go back up to the previous room, then go west into the next room. In here, go north by jumping up a few ledges until you reach the ledge with a door to the west. Go through that door to enter the Corridor in the Air. Corridor in the Air ------------------- In this first room, go north and west into the following room. In the next room, drop down to the southeast area, then go east into a Save Room. Save/recover, then exit the room and head to the northwest area of this large room, defeating the Axe Armor II and Arabahaki enemies along the way. In the northwest area, continue west into the next room. Make your way directly to the west from here, right into another room to the west. Here, use the Crash Stone to break down the wall in front of you, then take the HP Max Increase item there. Continue west into the boss chamber. There you will meet Maxim for another round, and he will reveal his true self as the boss Shadow. Read the Bosses section of this guide for help winning this fight. Upon winning the battle, take the recovery orb and exit the same way you came in. Jump onto the ledge and head east into the next room. Continue across this next room as well and enter the following room. Drop down the ledges in this small room, then go east into the Clockwork Tower. Clockwork Tower --------------- Here, go straight across the room into the following one. Go east through the next 2 rooms (the one with the Arabahakis, then the boss room). In the room after the boss one, head north up some ledges. When you come to the first path leading eastward, take that path into the next room. There, drop through the thin floor and continue downward to another path leading east. Enter that room; there, go east and you'll see a Bronze Guard walking towards you. Do NOT defeat it; instead go back to the west side of this room where you will find a switch. Lure the guard towards it, then step on the switch, triggering a giant mallet to knock the guard into the far wall, allowing you access. Continue east and drop into the next room. In the next room, head southward by dropping down ledges. You can enter a side room to the east, which will be empty for now. Continue south to the bottom of the room. Enter the Save Room to the west, then go south into a new room. There, step on the switch and a giant ball will start to roll down the path. The west door will then open. The idea is to outrun the ball to its destination, so dash through this area, trying your best to avoid the Fleamen, to get to the end first. If you get to the end of the line, you can slide under the east wall and collect the Healing Mail, as well as the Heart Choker. Now, slide under the west wall at the top, then drop through several ledges as if you're backtracking on the path you just came. Go all the way south, then west while defeating the Fleamen. At the southwest corner of the room, slide under the wall and enter that room. There, take the Lucky Ring and the Raccoon Ornament collectible. Exit this room and slide under the wall again. Make your way all the way east, then north to where you collected the other 2 treasures a few moments ago. Step on the switch to open the other door, then go west and north to the room above again. Stop in the Save Room to the west again, then continue all the way north to the very top of the room. At the top, go into the above room. Head west through this next room and continue into the following one. In this next room, head all the way to the top of this room, then go west into another room. Continue the climb upward in this room as well, defeating the Peeping Eyes along the way this time. At the top, go east into the next room. Go east through here, defeating the 2 Skeleton Ribs along the way. Continue into the next room, then in that room, get to the very top of it by jumping up the ledges. At the top, enter the Warp Room to the west and go back to Castle A. ======== Castle A ======== Clockwork Tower --------------- When you arrive back here, exit the Warp Room and head south through the first regular room, defeating the Harpies you encounter. Consult the map and make your way to the nearest Save Room, which is a few rooms away. When you get there, save/recover, then exit the room. Drop down a few ledges while avoiding or defeating the Harpies, then enter the next room that you come to leading east. There, drop through the thin floor and continue to the bottom of this room, then go east into yet another room. Go east through here, then drop down the pit at the end into the next room. Make your way all the way south through here, defeating the Arabahakis along the way. Save at the Save Room to the west at the bottom. Then, drop through the thin floor into the room below. In this room, step on the switch to the left to release the ball and open the door. This whole puzzle is just like the one in Castle B, except this one is WAY harder! Start by sliding constantly to the west, hitting any Arabahakis in the way. Drop through the gold parts of the thin floor at the end, then go east across spike pits while avoiding the Arabahakis as best as you can. After the spikes, drop down some more ledges and go west. Drop through the gold colored floors at the end of the west path, then go east at the bottom. Slide through the Bone Heads to the end, then go up the ledges. Be quick and dash on each platform, quickly jumping where you can, and if you're lucky, you'll make it to the end before the ball. In that case, slide through the right wall and take the Invitation Cat collectible, and the Heart Max Increase upgrade. Jump up to the ledge above you to get the HP Max Increase one. Jump to the top ledge to get the Thunder Book (spellbook). Now, slide under the west wall and drop through all the thin floors below you, and backtrack through this puzzle room. Get to the area with the spike pits again, then get to the edge of the westernmost one. Slide to the left and you'll go through a hidden passageway. Drop through all the ledges to the bottom, then enter the next room. Take the Dracula's Fang relic, then leave the room. Get back up and out of the secret passage, then go around to the entrance of this large room, and go north out of it. Enter the west room and save your game again, since you'll need it. When you're done, it's time to backtrack quite a bit more. The destination is the other Save Room in the tower, so consult the map and get to that room. When there, save again if you like, then exit the room. There is one more Save Room you have to head by, and that one is to the west, in the Corridor in the Air. Refer to the map like you have been to get there, then read the next part of the walkthrough. Corridor in the Air ------------------- In the Save Room, equip/charge the Crash Stone, then jump and hit the east wall. It'll crumble, revealing a new room. Enter the room and take the 2 Invincible Pots you find there. Exit the room and the Save Room, then head west across this room. Defeat the Archer Skeletons and Balloons as you head up the stairs and into the next room. Continue west through here, staying more towards the upper half of the room. At the far side of the room, get to the northwest corner and go into the west room. Go west through that room and then into the following room. There you will find Maxim cowering in the corner. Talk to him and he'll give you Maxim's Bracelet. Now, leave the room and head back east 3 rooms (to the second large room with the Archer Skeletons and Balloons). In the room I just described, get to the middle area and jump up the ledges, then go north into that room. Go west through the next room, avoiding the Balloons, and enter the Chapel of the Heretic. Chapel of the Heretic --------------------- Here, simply make your way through the next several rooms, until you reach the large chapel room far north, several rooms later. When you get to that room, go east and north by jumping up a bunch of ledges. As soon as you're able to go west, do so. Follow the path west and up the steps to the top. Equip Maxim's Bracelet to open the west door, and continue into the Castle Tower. Castle Tower ------------ In this new area, head west and up the steps to the top. Then, continue west into the next room. You will be in another Warp Room, which can take you to Castle B. Pick up the Hint Card 3, then go through the boss door to the west. You will fight Pazusu in this room, so read the Bosses section for help here. After you win, take the orb to recover, then go west into the next room. There, step on the switch to open the pit in front of you. Before you go downward, jump up the ledges and get to the northmost area of the room. You will find the HP Max Increase and Heart Max Increase upgrades there. After that, drop all the way down and into the pit you just opened. Follow the path downstairs and into a Save Room. Save and recover in the room, then go into the room to the east. There, head east and defeat the Poison Lizards along the way. At the far right end of the room, drop into the pit to reach another room. Head southward through this area, defeating the Peeping Eyes and Arabahakis on the way. Stay towards the east wall as you progress downward. When you see a path leading east into a room, enter that new room. Here is the first shop of the game. Talk to the shopkeeper to find out information about it, then sell any gems you've picked up, and buy some equipment if you can afford it. When you're done here, exit the shop and continue southward into another new room. In this room, go all the way east, ignoring the pit you come across. Defeat the Poison Lizards and grab the Evil Picture. Then, go back to the pit and drop into the room below. There, go west and through the elevator, into the west room. Save/recover there, then go back to the previous room. Go back to the east side of the room and enter the boss's room. You'll fight the Minotaur Another here, so read the Bosses section for assistance if needed. After the fight, take the orb and go into the next room, where you will find the Attack Steel for your whip. Now, backtrack to the previous room, then into the Save Room. Save/recover, then exit the room. Before you continue onward with the progress of the game, you may want to go south through this room, then take the east path through several other rooms. The purpose is to pick up other items and a collectible if you're interested. If not, you must make your way to the Warp Room at the top of this tower (before the room where you fought Pazusu). Get there by using the map for reference, then when you get there, warp to Castle B. ======== Castle B ======== Castle Tower ------------ When you arrive in the alternate castle, head west into the next room. There, defeat the Big Skeleton and take the Mystic Robe on the ledge. Then, continue into the next room. Go west and drop through the ledges to the bottom, then go down the steps and into the east room. In the Save Room, you know what to do by now. Next, go into the next room and defeat the Skeleton Blaze/Spear enemies. Grab the Potion on the ledge at the end, then drop down into the room below. Make your way all the south through this room while fighting the various enemies around. At the bottom-left area, drop into the next room. Go east through this room as usual, defeating the enemies in your way. Take the Hi Potion at the far right area, then drop into the pit in the middle of the room to reach the next one below. In this room, drop through the ledges and head west through the elevator into the room to the west. Save there, then return to the room you were just in and enter the boss room directly to the east. You will fight the Minotaur again here, so read the Bosses section for help winning this one too. After the fight, continue into the next room. Take the HP Max Increase item, and the Wind Book spellbook here. Now, head back a couple rooms to the large room with the elevator. In order to continue southward like you're supposed to, you need to be in Castle A. So that means you must head all the way north to the Warp Room, warp to Castle A, then come back to this point. ======== Castle A ======== Castle Tower ------------ When you come back to this point after warping, stop in the Save Room to the west. Then, take the elevator to the very bottom of the large room, and go into the room below, which is the Castle's Treasury. Castle's Treasury ----------------- In this area, go east and drop into the following room. There, go west to a Save Room. When you're done in the Save Room, exit and head all the way east into the following room. In this room, make your way all the way through by jumping and dropping on the ledges. Drop into the room below at the end. Take the elevator down to the bottom of this room and continue southward into yet another room. Go west here until you come to a thin floor you can drop through. At that point, drop down into the next room. Go down through here until you reach the first door leading west. Enter that room, then continue west into the Cave of Skeletons. Cave of Skeletons ----------------- In this area, head south while defeating the Skeleton-type enemies along the way. Drop into the next room at the bottom. There, take the east path. At the first split, jump up the ledges and go west and defeat the Bone Heads, then take the Gramophone collectible. Go back east and drop down the ledges, then continue south and west to the end. Jump up a couple ledges and grab the Thunder Robe. Then, drop down into a pit to reach the next room. Take the east path and defeat the Spider Skeleton enemy, and continue into the next room. In that room, get to the top of the room and defeat the Big Spirit. Take the Bookcase collectible, then backtrack several rooms to the large room (the large room below the first vertical one in the area). There, go west this time into the next room. Here, go west and you'll see a crate on the ground, and another on a higher ledge. Start by pushing the bottom crate to the west a bit. Before it passes under the wall, jump on it to reach the upper ledge and push the other crate east onto the ground. Push the first crate west until it drops, then start to push the other one on top of the first one. When the second crate is being pushed atop the first one, push it west enough so the second one's still stacked on top, and you can jump onto it. Jump from the crates to a high ledge with a Heart Max Increase on it. Then, continue along the path into the next room to the west. In here, go west and double jump onto the first high ledge you can get to. Jump to another platform and you'll find 2 more crates. Push the bottom one west almost all the way (do NOT push it against the wall yet; push it just enough so if you were to push the other crate west and onto the first one, that you can get onto the first crate and push the second one to the west). Anyway, push the second crate onto the first, then push it to the west until you fall in between the crates. Jump out and push the first one against the wall, and continue pushing the second one until it drops down. Then, push it all the way west and use it to double jump to the higher ledge. Jump up the ledges and head east at the top to get a HP Max Increase item. Now, go west into the next room. In this room, go west and defeat the Glass Skeletons that jump out of the glass canisters to attack you. This room is full of them, and it's an EXCELLENT place to build up levels quickly. If you feel like wasting time, defeat all the enemies and go to another room, then return and repeat. Build up as many levels as you like, then continue westward into the next room. Make your way north, west, and south through here while defeating the Red Skeletons you come across. At the end, go west into a Save Room. Save/recover and continue into the next room. Here, head northward and defeat some Throw Masters, and you'll see a ledge high above. Double jump to it and enter the room above. Here, go east into the next room. Defeat the Mimic here and continue eastward through the next few rooms. You'll come to a room with a Mimic and a switch above. Run all the way right, then jump while holding Right so the Mimic jumps the wall in its section and hits the switch. Go through the open door into the next room. Take the Hint Card 5 and drop into the room below, where you will find the Rare Ring. Now, go back to the room with the Throw Masters. From there, go west and south, then west into a boss room. This is the room where you will fight the Legion Core, so read the Bosses section for help winning. After the fight, take the recovery orb and head into the next room. Take Sypha's Crystal here, then go back a few rooms to the Save Room. After saving and all, go back west into the previous room. There, go north to the northeast area, then double jump onto the ledge and go north into the next room. Go west down the hall and into another room. Head south through this next room, defeating the Skeleton Apes along the way. At the bottom, go west into a third puzzle room. There are three crates in this room, two of those on one ledge and the third on another one to the east. Start by getting onto the ledge with 2 crates and push the leftmost one all the way left and off the ledge. Then, go down to where it fell and push it all the way right to the pit. Do not let it go into the pit; push it just halfway over the pit. Next, go back to the above ledge and push the second crate off the right edge of the platform, then drop down and push the second crate east so it hangs halfway off the right side of the first crate. After that, jump to the upper ledge to the east and push the final crate west so it falls on the other two below. Push it east and off the pile completely, then push it east a little. Jump on it and double jump to the high ledges, then make your way north and west. Defeat the White Dragon, then take the Floodgate Key! Now, get back down from here and exit this room, then continue east and south into the large room with the Throw Masters. There, go south and east into the Save Room. Save/recover, then go east into the next room. Make your way all the way east through the next several rooms, then northward out of the Cave of Skeletons. Castle's Treasury ----------------- In this room, you should find Disk Armor and Axe Armor II enemies wandering about. Go east into the following room, where you can go south into Juste's Room, or east into the Moss-Grown Cave. Go east into that new area. Moss-Grown Cave --------------- Here, go east and defeat the Sylphs along the way. Continue east into the next room and fight some more Sylphs, as well as Small Devils. Get to the top of the room and head east into the next room. There, go east and defeat a couple Picture enemies, and you'll see a couple ledges above you. Jump up them and into the north room. Go all the way to the top of this room and take the Meat, then hit the candleabra to get $400. Go back down to the room you were just in and continue eastward, defeating Meal Flowers and Pictures along the way. Continue all the way east into the Save Room at the end. When you're done there, go east into the following room. In this next room, go east and up the hill, then jump onto the ledge above. Continue northeast and up the next bunch of ledges you see, then go northeast and take the Fur Helmet. Go back to the ledges and head northwest to the top of the area. Go east to a Heart Max Increase item, then go west and knock down the wall by using the Crash Stone. Enter that room, which is a warp room; remember this for later if you want. Leave this room, then go south and down the first set of ledges. Go east into the next room. Here, get to the southwest area of the room while defeating the Bats and Pictures, then take the Invincible Pot you see. Now, go back to the previous room and make your way to the southeast area of the room. Then, go west and drop down into the room below. Here, take the path west and defeat the Victory Armor you see. Drop into the pit at the end to reach the next room. There, go east and into the following room. Go east and south through this room, defeating the Axe Armor II and Sylph enemies you come across. At the bottom of the room, go west into the next one. In this room, defeat the Ectoplasms and Sylphs flying around, then make your way all the way west, south, and east. You'll see a path leading east; ignore it since there's nothing in there. Continue south and west and defeat a couple of Bone Heads, then double jump to the high ledge and go west into another room. There, you'll automatically use the Floodgate Key in the monument in the room. That will drain a reservoir in another room in this cave. Now, make your way all the way to the Save Room again (see the map for details on getting there). After you save/recover in the Save Room, go west into the next room. There, defeat the Pictures and Meal Flowers until you come to a pit. Drop down into the next room. There, go all the way west in this now-drained room (if you came here earlier, it'd be filled with water which damages you as you walk through). Drop down into the next room all the way west. In that room, take the path all the way east first. Take the Arm Plate at the end. Then, go all the way to the west end. At the end, drop into the following room. In here, make your way all the way to the bottom of the room by dropping through thin ledges. At the bottom, take the Leggings and go east into the next room. In this room, go east and defeat the Blaze Masters you encounter, then continue into the following room. Fight some more Blaze Masters as you jump up the ledges in this next room. At the top, go through the boss door to the west. Here is where you will fight Death. Read the Bosses section for help winning. After the fight, take the recovery orb and go into the next room. There, take the Griffin's Wing relic, which allows you to make a rocket jump (press Down, then Up + A). Now, it's time to backtrack again; this time, all the way to the Save Room many rooms away. From the Save Room, head west to the next room. There, make your way all the way west until you reach some ledges going upward into another room. Jump up into that room, then go east from there into yet another room. Use the Griffin's Wing to get to the top of here, then drop down the other side and through the door into the Waterway of Aquatic. Waterway of Aquatic ------------------- Here, go east and north by double jumping up the ledges to the top. Then, go north into the next room. In this room, go west and defeat the giant Scale Armor. Continue to the west wall, then double jump into a hidden passage near the top of the wall. Walk into the hidden room and take Dracula's Fingernail (relic). Then, go east and into the next room. Here, get to the top of the room while defeating the Bats you meet along the way. At the very top, take the Hard Leather Glove sitting there. Now, backtrack through the past few rooms, back to the Moss-Grown Cave. Moss-Grown Cave --------------- Back in the tall room, rocket jump to the top and drop down the other side, then continue into the next room. Continue south and into the room below. There, defeat the Pictures and Meal Flowers as you head east into the Save Room. Save and recover, then go into the east room. There, go all the way east, then south and west into the next room. This visit, go east and defeat the Disk Armor enemy. Continue to the boss door and enter that room. You will see a simple Guard Armor march towards you, which you'd think is the boss. A giant hand crushes it, and you can move along to see a GIANT version of the Guard Armor, known as Talos. Read the Bosses section for help on fighting this boss. Upon winning, take the orb and go into the east room. There, drop down and take the HP Max Increase and Heart Max Increase upgrades. You'll notice an opening in the ceiling about the Heart upgrade; rocket jump to the ledge above. There, go west and jump up a couple ledges, then rocket jump some more, landing on the small ledges on the walls, until you get to the top. Take the second Heart Max Increase upgrade there, then get all the way to the ground again. Go all the way east and rocket jump up the second shaft, resting on ledges along the walls. At the top, go west and into the next room. Go west there and defeat the Hammer-Hammer armored enemy, as well as any Fleamen that fall from the ceiling. Continue west into the next room, and take the Skull Key you find. Now, make your way back to the Save Room you were at just several minutes ago. When you get there, save/recover, and get ready for some more backtracking to another area of the castle. From the Save Room, head west through the next few rooms, until you reach the vertical room where you can go south to Juste's Room, west to the Cave of Skeletons, or north to go further into the Castle's Treasury. For right now, go north into the next room. Castle's Treasury ----------------- Here, go west and defeat the enemies you come across, then go north at the end into the following room. Go east and north into the next room there, then in that room, go all the way west to the end. At the end, drop into the room below. In there, go down the steps and jump onto the first ledge above them to the east. Go east to the end and take the Plate Armor. Then, if you want, continue south and east into a shop; otherwise, go back to the north room. There, go west into the following room. In that room, go all the way south by dropping down ledges. Once at the bottom, go west into the next room. Defeat the Ruler Sword LV3 there, and continue to the following room. Take the Greed Necklace, then go back east and north to the top of the vertical room. Then, go west into another room. In this room, jump over the pit and go west, defeating the Spliguns you come across. At the end, continue into the next room. There, continue west and defeat a couple of Specters. Grab the Teapot and Tea Cup collectibles on the ledge, then continue southeast through this room. When you make it to the end of the path, drop through the thin floor into the room below. Here, go west into a room and take the HP Max Increase item, or into the east room, which is a Save Room. Grab the upgrade and save, then backtrack all the way back to the vertical room with the Archer Skeletons. Back in this room, go south and take the first door to the left into the next room. Continue west through here and into the following room, which leads into the Cave of Skeletons. Cave of Skeletons ----------------- In this area, make your way through the next bunch of rooms, all the way to the Save Room. Once there, save, then continue into the west room. Go up the ledges to the northeast area, then double jump to the high ledge and go up into that room. Go west and continue to the last puzzle room with the crates. Solve the puzzle like before to get to the northeast area of the room. Then, jump up into the next room, which is part of the Entrance area. Entrance -------- Here, go north and use the Crash Stone to destroy the wall blocking your path. Then, continue north jumping up the ledges and defeating the Skeletons and Bats along the way. Enter the first room to the west, and save there. Exit that room and continue northward to the next intersection. The east room is empty, and you cannot enter the west room yet, so head north by using the rocket jump to get over the tall pillar. At the other side, continue north to another wall. Break it with the Crash Stone again, then continue north to the next room. Since we're back in the first areas of the game again, there are new items you can collect if you're willing. From your current spot, head all the way east, then north several rooms (consult the map so you know where you're going) to get to the Approach of Deplore. Approach of Deplore ------------------- In this area, make your way into the large room with the northeast ledge you couldn't reach early in the game. Double jump to it and claim Dracula's Ring. Then, go back south and east into another room. Defeat the Victory Armor and take the HP Max Increase item there, then unlock the east door with the Skull Key. In that room, take the great Silver Armor. Now, head west a few rooms to a Save Room in this area. From there, go south and west and continue into the Corridor of Marble. Corridor of Marble ------------------ When you enter this area, make your way all the way to the Save Room (refer to your map as usual for help). When you get there, save/recover and go back to the room east of it. There, go east a little and jump on the ledges you see, then go into the north room. Go west there and continue into the next room. In here, use the rocket jump to get to the top of the area, then drop down the other side. Go all the way to the bottom of the area, then go west into another room. Take the Attack Platina for your whip, then exit this room. Go back north and into the northwest room. This is a Warp Room, so press Up to warp to Castle B. ======== Castle B ======== Corridor of Marble ------------------ In the alternate castle again, leave the Warp Room. Drop all the way down to the bottom of the room, then go west into that room. You'll find the Lure Key here; take it and exit here as well. Get to the top of this tall room, then drop down the other side and go east into the next room. Here, defeat the stronger Skeletons as you head east to the other end of the room. At the end, drop into the next room. Go west and into a Save Room; save and recover, then leave the room. Next, go east for 3 rooms and you'll come to a large room with Specters and Axe Armor II's around. There, go all the way north and west into the next room. Drop down to the lower area and head west and north, then east, defeating various lizard enemies along the way. At the end of the path, go west into the next room, where you'll find a HP Max Increase item. Take it, then go back out of this room. Now, backtrack to the room with the Specters again, then go all the way south and into the pit to reach the Room of Illusion. Room of Illusion ---------------- In here, drop down to the bottom of this first room. Then, enter the room to the west. Go west, defeating the Victory Armors you encounter, then take the Silk Curtain collectible at the end. Go back to the previous room, then enter the east room this time. Make your way through this room and defeat the 2 Ou enemies you see. Continue west into the next room at the bottom. Go west through this room, defeating the Spliguns you come across. At the end, go into the last room and grab the HP Max Increase item there. Now, go back a few rooms, then north to the room with the Axe Armor II and Specter enemies (in the Corridor of Marble). Corridor of Marble ------------------ Back in here, head to the northeast area of this room, then go east into the following room. Now, make your way east through the next couple of rooms, and get to the Save Room (look on the map for details on its location). Once there, save/recover, then exit the room and head north into the next room. Go east in that room, then slide under the wall and go into the following room. Take the Black Cloak there, then head back to the Save Room. From there, head east through the next few rooms, until you reach the large room with all the stairs (Armor Fleamen inhabit this room). There, get to the northeast area of the room where you will find a Viking Helm. Next, get back to the entrance of this room, and head all the way east into the following room. Defeat the Ou there, and take the Heart Max Increase item you see. Now, go back west a couple of rooms to the room with the Specters and Arabahakis flying around. Go west and drop into the pit in the floor to reach the next room. There, continue east and through the door to enter the Approach of Deplore. Approach of Deplore ------------------- Here, defeat the Big Spirit and go east, then south into the room below. In this room, start by dropping down a couple ledges and going east into a small room. In there, take the HP Max Increase you find. There, drop down the ledges and defeat the Owls and Simons in here. Then, go back to the previous room, and make your way to the northwest area while defeating the Owls and Simons you encounter. Go west into the next room. There, go west and north and jump up onto the ledge in the northwest corner of the room. Take the Silver Candlestick Holder collectible , then make your way south and west into another room. Here, drop down to a lower area and take the Potion, then jump back up to the starting ledge and rocket jump to the top of the room. Once at the top area, double jump to the highest ledge, where you'll find the Goddess Sculpture collectible. Now, drop down to the west side of the room. Go up the ledges there, defeating the Simons on your way up. At the top, go west and take the Crushing Boots you find. Now you can smash through certain ceilings when you use the rocket jump with these boots equipped. There are also a few items, upgrades, and even the Summon Book to be found with this new technique. From here, go back out of this entire room and into the previous room. There, go southeast and continue into the next room. In there, go east to a pit, then drop into it to reach the room below. There, continue east into the Approach of Deplore. Approach of Deplore ------------------- In this area, defeat all the Bats and drop into the pit at the end to reach the following room. There, go west and defeat the Bone Skewer enemies you come across, and drop into the first pit you reach to enter the next room. In this room, go all the way east and defeat a couple Big Spirits, then jump up a few ledges to the room above. Go west and defeat the Bone Skewers, and jump to the high ledge with the steps. Continue up into the next room. In that room, go east and fight some more Bone Skewers. Take the Large Meat at the end, then drop through the floor into the next room, and take the Heart Max Increase there. Now, go back a few rooms to the one with the Big Spirits. Instead of going up the steps halfway through, head all the way west into the following room at the end. There, defeat the Owls and Simons and grab the Meat in the far west. Then, jump up the ledges and make your way east, north, and west to the end of the room. Go west into the next room, and fight the same types of enemies in the past several rooms here as well. Go all the way to the far west to take a X-Potion if you want, then drop into the pit you come across to reach another room. There, go east and into a Save Room. Save/recover, then leave the room and go west. Go through the boss door and into the boss's room. You will fight the Cyclops boss here, so read the Bosses section for help with winning as usual. After the fight, take the recovery orb that drops down. Then, go into the Heretic's Grave in the west room. Heretic's Grave --------------- Here in this single room, grab the Heart Max Increase you find. Then, continue west into the Entrance area. Entrance -------- Here, go west and defeat the Spligun enemy you come across. Then, continue west and at the end, jump up to the ledge and go into the north room. Go east and defeat some Transparent Skeletons, then enter the following room to find a Heart Max Increase item. Now, go back west a room, then south to the room below there. From there, go west into the next room. Continue west through this room, defeating the Feather Demons you pass. Go into the next room to the west, which is the very first area outside the castle. Go all the way to the westmost area to get a Combat Suit. As you go through this long area, you'll notice an opening in the ceiling you can go through. Rocket jump into that hidden room. There, equip the Crushing Boots and rocket jump through the ceiling. Continue northward, taking the Hi Mana Prism and Used Vase collectible. Then, go east into the next room and take Dracula's Rib. Now, go back west to the previous room, then drop all the way down to the long first area of the castle. Go all the way east and into the castle itself again. Continue east and defeat a couple of Feather Demons, then go east into the next room. Go east a little more here, then drop into the room below. Go south here until you come to the rainbow door on the west side. Go through it to enter a Warp Room. Stand in front of it and press Down to cycle throughout the different Warp Rooms in the castle. If you're not in Castle A, press Up and warp there as well. Take a look at the map each time you warp; the object is to get to the northmost one in the Castle Tower. Castle Tower ------------ When you make it to this Warp Room, go east into the large room. Double jump when you enter this room and you'll notice some special blocks in the ceiling. Stand below them and equip the Crushing Boots, then rocket jump through them into the room above. There, make your way all the way northwest to the top of the steps. Break through the blocks you come to with another rocket jump + Crushing Boots. Then, go east to find a HP Max Increase item. After that, go west to see a giant hand statue. Whip it to destroy it, giving you access to the final areas of the game. Now, get back down and out of this room, then head southeast into the Chapel of the Heretic. Chapel of the Heretic --------------------- In here, go east and jump onto the high ledge sticking out. Go east and at the end, rocket jump to the highest ledge and take Dracula's Eye (HP Max Increase if in Castle B). Then, get back down and head west to the Castle Tower again. Castle Tower ------------ From here, go west up the steps, then into the Warp Room at the end. Here, warp to Castle B. ======== Castle B ======== Castle Tower ------------ Here, go east out of this room. Rocket jump through the ceiling with the special blocks like in the alternate castle. In that room, go west and up the steps, then break the blocks at the top. Go east to get a Heart Max Increase, then go west to get the Kaiser Mail, which is just about the greatest body armor in the game! Next, go back south and out of this room. There is now a little bit of travelling for you to do in order to get all of Dracula's parts (provided you've followed this walkthrough the whole way through, you should only be missing the Heart). Look at your spot on the map, then look diagonally southeast of your spot to the Save Room there (it's to the east of a large room). That is in the Corridor of the Air; get to that Save Room. Corridor in the Air ------------------- When/if you make it to the aforementioned Save Room, go by the east wall. Equip the Crash Stone and charge it up, then jump and whip that wall to break open a hole to go through. Enter that room and take Dracula's Heart. You now have all the parts of Dracula, thus allowing you to fight the true last boss in a little while. There is nothing left to find, so now it is time to enter the final areas of the game. Follow the map and make your way to the Save Room just about the unvisited last areas on your map (that's in the Castle Tower). Castle Tower ------------ In the Save Room, save/recover, then exit the room. Drop into the now-open pit in the next room to enter the next area. Last Battle ----------- Here, go south and ride the elevator to the bottom of the room. Then, take either path to the side and drop all the way down. Get to the middle area at the very bottom and you'll be raised into the final room. You will meet Maxim again here, standing by the body of Lydie. After some conversation, you will enter battle against Maxim. Read the Bosses section for help beating him here. Now, after you beat him, this could be the end of your game, or you could go on for one more boss. If you've collected all of Dracula's parts (like you should have if you followed this walkthrough), equip Juste's Bracelet and Maxim's Bracelet, then enter this battle in Castle B. After the fight with Maxim, Dracula will appear and you will have to fight him as well. Read the Bosses section for strategy on that, too. After that, the game will be totally over, congrats! ***************************************************************************** -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= -= 6. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= -= 7. Bosses -= -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Giant Bat Found: Corridor of Marble (A) HP: 400 Experience Points: 66 Strategy: This is the very first boss you will encounter in this game. As expected, this guy is hardly difficult at all! It flies slowly in place, shooting the occasional fireball and warping back and forth across the room. Use your whip and/or whatever subweapon you currently possess to attack. When its HP is low, this boss will use a spinning drill attack on you by coming from the ceiling and dropping on you, spinning and causing damage. Continue with a few more attacks and the fight will be over. Giant Armor Found: Approach of Deplore (A) HP: 900 Experience Points: 110 Strategy: This giant robot boss that you met in the beginning of the game is truly a piece of cake to defeat. All it does is pull back, then swings down its sword in front of it when you come near. You can easily back away and avoid that, so no worries in that part. If you have the Holy Water as your subweapon, just keep throwing that at this boss to cause lots of damage quickly. If you run out of hearts, continue the assault with your whip until you win. Skeleton Knight Found: Cave of Skeletons (B) HP: 1600 Experience Points: 339 Weakness: Thunder Strategy: Although it is only the third boss, the Skeleton Knight can prove to be tough for you here. In its first form, it jumps straight up and down, or it pulls back and then stabs forward at you. When he's about to stab at you, jump onto a higher ledge and over the knight to avoid it. Attack by whipping constantly or using Holy Water as your subweapon (provided you still have it from the Giant Armor battle). When this guy falls and gets up again, he will be without his sword. This knight will then jump around, and instead of stabbing at you, he'll start to dash, then disappear, reappearing right by you to dash into you. When he disappears, get onto a higher ledge quickly to avoid the hit. Attack like you did before and he'll soon collapse, only to rise for another round. For this final round, it'll shoot an energy beam straight ahead for several moments, which you can avoid by getting on one of the higher ledges. As before, continue your attacks and you will win. Golem Found: Moss-Grown Cave (B) HP: 1408 Experience Points: 273 Tolerance: Thunder Strategy: This giant stone creature isn't really that tough, provided you are agile enough to avoid its attacks. The Golem will either punch you, which you can tell if it does that by it pulling back its arm first. The Golem's other attack is to stomp the ground, causing rocks to fall from the ceiling. Dash around to avoid those, and whip the head to attack. When you've caused enough damage to the head, it'll fall off, revealing a round bubble of sorts. In this form, the Golem only moves a couple steps, stops, then shoots many bubbles out from where its head was. Avoid those and attack when it's safe, and the battle will be over soon after. Devil Found: Corridor in the Air (A) HP: 2176 Experience Points: 627 Strategy: This boss is a rather difficult one, so be well healed before entering this battle. This creature flies around the room, then stops mid-flight or lands on the floor to launch an attack. If the Devil is in the air, it'll shoot a diagonal beam downward in the direction it's facing, so get behind the boss to avoid that. When the Devil lands and charges up, duck down to avoid the fireball blast that results. That attack is often followed up by a fiery uppercut, so be ready to move quickly after ducking and whipping while the fireballs are going. Whenever the Devil stops, constantly try to whip it or use your subweapon to cause further damage. When it lands to charge the fireball shot, duck down and continuously whip it to cause good damage as well. Be careful when coming in contact with this one since you may become cursed, which can be dangerous since it stops you from dashing temporarily. Use an Uncurse and continue the above strategy, while keeping yourself healthy, in order to win. Giant Merman Found: Waterway of Aquatic (A) HP: 3520 Experience Points: 1298 Tolerance: Fire Weakness: Ice Strategy: This giant fishman really is no big challenge for you to take over. It has few attacks, all of which you can avoid with ease, so there are no problems. After taking a couple steps forward or backward, it'll either curl up and charge across the room, summon Fishmen to attack, or send a moderately sized wave towards you. The curled up charge and the wave are both things you can jump over, and you won't have too much of a hard time with the enemies it summons. If you have Holy Water here, now is a GREAT time to use it, since this creature stands still quite often, giving you a chance to really damage it with the stuff. You have plenty of opportunities to whip this creature like all hell, so take advantage and you will win easily. Max Slimer Found: Clockwork Tower (A) HP: 3680 Experience Points: 1479 Strategy: This giant blob creature truly shouldn't be considered as a boss one bit! It does nothing to harm you, besides moving in your direction rather slowly. When you whip it, tiny pieces fly off, and they can hurt if they touch you, so use a subweapon or your regular whip to clear those out quickly. The basic idea is to whip this boss into nothingness, and there's not much more to it. Peeping Big Found: Clockwork Tower (B) HP: 2000 Experience Points: 1981 Strategy: This giant version of the Peeping Eye enemy is just that, but with a couple more moves. This giant eye floats around, sometimes whipping its tail at you when you get close, so be careful of that. Every now and then it'll curl up and bounce around the room, but you can dash under it when it bounces, so no worries there either. Whenever you get a chance, jump up and whip the eye of the beast. Avoid its attacks and attack often, and this battle will be over soon enough. Legion (Saint) Found: Corridor in the Air (B) HP: 1920 Experience Points: 2230 Strategy: When you first meet this boss, it is protected by a giant shield-type thing divided into 4 parts. Cause enough damage to any part and it'll fall off, revealing part of the small boss itself. If you have the Cross as your subweapon, you'll REALLY be in business for finishing this one off FAST! Anyway, attack all 4 quadrants of the Legion's shield to reveal the boss in the flesh. It is a floating eyeball with 3 tails surrounding it. Each of its tails can shoot an energy beam in any direction to attack, so be careful when fighting with this enemy. Again, if you have the Cross, life will be easier with beating this one, but if you don't, your whip will do justice. Shadow Found: Corridor in the Air (B) HP: 1600 Experience Points: 2362 Strategy: This shadow creature is initially invulnerable to all attacks in its floating regular form. After a few moments, it'll morph into a wolf and proceed to run back and forth through the room, and jump once before transforming again. The next form will be of a giant sword that spins around fast. Be careful not to touch it or you will be cursed, making you unable to get away from its attacks quick enough. The third form will be a giant moth that sprays poison spores underneath it, so avoid those if you don't want to be poisoned! After that, the cycle will start with the wolf again. Attack this boss when it's in any of the aforementioned forms, while avoiding each ones' attacks, and you'll be able to pull through. Pazusu Found: Castle Tower (A) HP: 4500 Experience Points: 2640 Strategy: This boss is really a tough one, quite honestly. Its attacks aren't the killers; it's this guy's massive size and the amount of damage you take from getting hit ONCE! This boss's actions are predictable though, so that makes it easier. Also if you have the Cross subweapon, you'll get through this one that much quicker. Anyway, this boss hops in your direction twice, then hovers in the air for a moment before dropping to the ground again. That's when it'll shoot fireballs at you in several directions; you can duck to avoid those if you're lucky. Sometimes, Pazuzu will send a swarm of Small Devils to chase you down, so destroy them quickly with your whip. Fight back by whipping whenever you can, and throwing Crosses (Cross-throwing will be your primary attack this fight because of its long range). Keep your health high (you'll need it) and constantly attack while avoiding the boss's hits, and you'll win after a while. Minotaur Another Found: Castle Tower (A) HP: 4200 Experience Points: 3228 Strategy: The first fight against this giant boss is rather simple for this point in the game. When you whip at it, it'll jump back every several hits or so. After a few rounds of you whipping this one and it jumping back, it'll swing/throw its ball and chain weapon at you. When Minotaur starts spinning it, simply dash backward to avoid it. Constantly whip this boss and use multi-hitting subweapons if you can (Cross, Holy Water), and you'll win this easily. Minotaur Found: Castle Tower (B) HP: 1920 Experience Points: 339 Strategy: The battle against this Minotaur is WAY easy for such an area of the game. Its only means of attacking are swinging down its axe to attack, or to charge at you. This battle will end quickly if you use your whip + a good subweapon (I found the Fist to be highly effective here). Fighting this simple boss is too easy, so there are to be no worries as to not winning! Legion Core Found: Cave of Skeletons (A) HP: 4620 Experience Points: 3388 Strategy: This fight against the Legion's core is a bit tougher than when you first fought the Legion, but it's a doable task to win. It is surrounded by a shell like before, which you must attack in order to open up the core in the middle. Be careful when whipping this boss because if it touches you, you will be cursed and take damage. Small creatures will sometimes drop from underneath the boss and crawl towards you, so duck down and whip them out quickly, then continue whipping the shield/core. Attack the shield enough and the core will open wide; now is when it is most vulnerable to attacks. If you have the Cross subweapon, just keep throwing it at the core to cause damage. Continuously attack it or else the core will close up, making you start again. Avoid coming in contact with the boss's body and attack the core to win. Death Found: Moss-Grown Cave (A) HP: 3920 (Regular) 2800 (Worm) Experience Points: 4227 (Regular) 4406 (Worm) Strategy: This fight against Death will be a somewhat long fight, but it really isn't that tough if you are prepared to fight. In its first form, Death has several attacks to hit you with. It can make several small sickles appear and fly at you, which you can destroy with your whip. It'll throw its giant sickle forward and return it like a boomerang, so avoid that one. Death will also stop after a while and make several groups of dust particles appear in a line. Do not stand where any of those dust particles came up or else you'll get hit by the beam that follows. Death also teleports around in the room, and usually follows up teleporting by swinging its sickle at you, so be careful. Attack whenever you can by using your whip. After you caused enough damage, Death will turn into a giant skeleton worm-like creature flying around the room. The target is its head, and you can stand on its body (not the tail) to make attacking easier. Avoid the sickles swinging around in front of its head and attack like before to win. Talos Found: Moss-Grown Cave (A) HP: 4200 Experience Points: 4227 Tolerance: Ice Strategy: This giant armored boss is nothing really for you to worry about, in terms of difficulty. Its only weak spot is the red part of its front leg, so batter that with your whip as often as you can. Anyway, this boss marches towards you, one step at a time, but if you attack it enough, it'll move backwards a few steps. For attacking, it'll either extend its front arm in 2 directions to hit you, extend its arm forward to grab you, or transform its arm into a giant knife and slice it down at you. Keep attacking its leg to avoid beind cornered against the west wall, and this boss will be over in no time, seriously. Cyclops Found: Approach of Deplore (B) HP: 4680 Experience Points: 4406 Strategy: This giant cyclops is a pretty simple boss for you to defeat, provided you are careful not to get hit by its attacks too often. It either swings a giant hammer down to try and crush you, or it'll dash forward. You can tell when it's about to dash since it fidgets around in place a couple times. When that happens, double jump so the Cyclops dashes underneath you instead. Now that you know its attacks, simply avoid them and constantly be on the offensive, and this boss will be gone without much effort. Maxim Found: Last Battle (A/B) HP: 4800 Experience Points: 0 Strategy: Your "friend" is now the supposed final boss of this game! Even though he looks small and weak, do not underestimate his power! Maxim has several attacks he can attack with, such as lunging at you with his sword, or jumping up and darting down towards you to cause damage. He'll sometimes throw a giant shuriken that goes a short distance and returns to him. He'll also stay still and shoot out many clones of himself in all directions. You can whip some of those out of your way if you're lucky, otherwise use a good spell if you like (Cross + Wind) to protect yourself if possible. Keep your distance and attack close-up on occasion only because his sword swipe is his strongest attack. If you get low on HP, quickly use a Hi Potion or an X-Potion to stay in the game. After a while, Maxim will split into 2 identical versions, but only one takes damage. Avoid both guys' attacks and concentrate on the real one. If you keep attacking and can survive all the attacks, you'll win this battle. Dracula Phantom Found: Last Battle (B) HP: 2250 (First Form) 6666 (Second Form) Experience Points: 0 Strategy: This is the absolute final battle of this entire game, against the legendary Dracula! For the first part of the battle, it seems to be VERY easy for you, since all Dracula does is teleport throughout the room, stopping to shoot fireballs or boulders at you before vanishing and going elsewhere. His only weak point in this form is his head, so jump and attack it whenever you get a chance. I found that the Ice Book + Dagger subweapon combo works well here. Keep up the attack and Dracula will morph into his second and final form. In this giant form, the eyeball is the weakness, which you can hit quite easily. However, you better watch out for his claw that takes LOTS of damage from you, as well as the laser he shoots from his eye every now and then. Duck down to avoid the beam or else you'll be hit for massive amounts of HP per shot. Get in and whip the eye as often as possible, even using the Ice Book + Dagger spell combo is great here for attacking quickly. Stay alive with lots of X-Potions and you'll be set to win this battle and the game! ***************************************************************************** -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= -= 8.
