Breath of Fire 2 Shamanization Guide Version 1.1.1 Last Updated: 8/16/2006 ======================================================================= -= Table of Contents =- ======================================================================= I. Introduction II. The Shaman III. Affects of Shamanization IV. Credits and Thanks V. Closing ======================================================================= -= Introduction =- ======================================================================= Welcome to my 3rd ever FAQ! I'm straying away a bit from what I normally write to go to an RPG game. I was recently fooling around on the GBA version of BoF2 and realized something about shamanization that I wish to share with all. At first, I just measured the effectiveness by the message given to you after you shamanize, but that's not the best indicator. You see, what I noticed after a while is that even with the same resulting appearance, two different shamazations will alter the stats differently. You can switch it around and look the same, but have less power. After I started paying more attention to changes, I decided to write this guide so everyone can know the exact effects from every possible combination and that way they can make the best possible choices. Note that this guide is tuned to the GBA version of the game, and it may be possible that exact values are different from the SNES version. However, I doubt they'd be so far off that the effectiveness is changed. ======================================================================= -= The Shaman =- ======================================================================= Sana, the Fire shaman: obtained through story Seso, the Water shaman: rescue her from Nimfu's Tower after defeating Nimfu Spoo, the Wind shaman: obtained through story Solo, the Earth shaman: donate to Namanda 20 times before the fall of St. Evrai church, and then she'll be in the backyard of Rand's house in Farmtown. Seny, the Holy shaman: after beating St. Evrai church, head back to Bando and in the underground passage to the room with the arrow tiles that former expanded the hallway. She's in the first room there with the hallway at it's shortest length. Shin, the Devil shaman: after the dragon gets bombed at Gate, go to the left entrance of formerly guarded the cave and you'll see her. ======================================================================= -= Affects of Shamanization =- ======================================================================= Okay, here's the section you've been waiting for. This will explain in detail how each shaman and combinations of shaman change the stats of your characters. Before I begin, here are a few things to note: -Ryu and Bleu cannot be shamanized by anything. -For type, just look below that character's full list, and I will match up the letters with a description of the change in appearance. -stat abbreviations should be simple, but just in case, OFF is offense or attack, DEF is defense, VIG is vigor or agility, WIS is wisdom, and LUK is luck. Obviously, HP is hit points or whatever Capcom decided to call it and AP is ability points. -values shown are the percentage of increase. if your base stat is 100 and the increase is 40%, you'll gain 40 so the new value will be 140 -Katt and Sten lose their map actions when shamanized -if you're looking for an HP or luck increase, you're not gonna get it Bow Shaman 1 Shaman 2 Type HP AP OFF DEF VIG WIS LUK Sana none NC 0 0 17 0 0 0 0 Sana Seso Fail - - - - - - - Sana Spoo Fail - - - - - - - Sana Solo Fail - - - - - - - Sana Seny Fail - - - - - - - Sana Shin Fail - - - - - - - Seso none NC 0 0 0 0 0 25 0 Seso Spoo Fail - - - - - - - Seso Solo Fail - - - - - - - Seso Seny Fail - - - - - - - Seso Shin Fail - - - - - - - Spoo none NC 0 0 0 0 27 0 0 Spoo Solo Fail - - - - - - - Spoo Seny Fail - - - - - - - Spoo Shin Fail - - - - - - - Solo none NC 0 0 0 10 0 0 0 Solo Seny Fail - - - - - - - Solo Shin Fail - - - - - - - Seny none NC 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 Seny Shin MC 0 40 35 29 32 39 0 Shin none Fail - - - - - - - NC= No change in physical appearance MC= Major change; If you had a OFF rating of 100 and used a shamazation giving you 25%, you would get 125. But let's say you went and leveled a bit and your rating now reads 135. If you undo the fusion then the value will drop to 110, but go back up to 138 when you re-do it. ======================================================================= -= Credits and Thanks =- ======================================================================= -Thanks to Capcom for making this great game, even if they did a poor job translating it :p -Thanks to GameFAQs.com for hosting this guide -Thanks to the anonymous source who submitted corrected Wisdom value increases for Nina's major change, and Spar's Onion and Seahorse forms -Thanks to Max Lee for pointing out a typo in Bow's section ======================================================================= -= Closing =- ======================================================================= I hope that you found this guide useful, and if you find any errors or anything else to contribute, please don't hesitate to email me about it. You will receive credit for anything that gets added. Also email me if something in this guide confuses you. I could probably give general advice on the game as well, but I'm sure someone who wrote a walkthrough for the game would be better suited for that.
