======================================================================= BOMBERMAN JETTERS *PERFECT* Card Collection [Plus: Other Sub-quests guide] ======================================================================= by Dragoon Khan ======================================================================= System: Gameboy Advance Language: Japanese Producer: Hudson Soft PERSONAL GAMEPLAY DATA Estimated Finish Time: 22 hours Estimated Complete Game: 23 hours Game Rating: 8/10 - This game saved my sunday! Good Point: Fun factor. Blasting stuff is not as easy as it sounds, but still it's fun! The game will hook up with its puzzles. Bad Point: It is short. There should be bigger planets, or a ton of then. ======================================================================= UPDATE RECORD ======================================================================= 07/21/2003 - First release. Better than nothing... ======================================================================= INDEX ======================================================================= INTRODUCTION GAME CARD COLLECTION - Item Mixture - Obtaining Game Cards - Mixture Shops over the galaxy - Obtaining Item Type A - Base Items - Obtaining Item Type B - Mixture Items (and Mixture List) - Alternate Mixture List - The Last Card - Game Card 01 THE OTHER SUB-QUESTS - The Red Book - Kyarabom List Quest - Bomberman Upgrade Quest EXTRA STUFF - Cheat codes - The Bomberman Hall of Fame - And so it ends... ======================================================================= INTRODUCTION ======================================================================= Once again, Hudson Soft decided to do another (and very welcome) Bomberman RPG game. For those who played "Bomberman Quest" before (or "Bomberman Story", the japanese version), you will see a very familiar game. The engine is the very same, but with many minor changes. Even if the Kyarabon battle was took out, there is a nostalgic and pleasant addiction on this game... On this FAQ you will find the best way to complete one of many side-quests of this game - the game card collection. This is a collection of the box cover illustrations from many games that are part of this great game series, Bomberman, as well as a explaination of each game (in japanese, of course, but you can at least read the year each game was released). This will not be a hard task, but it will be tiresome. Use this guide, and you will not only do this quest with little less complications, but will also enjoy this game's side-quests and mini-games better. By the way, I´m a Brasilian and I'm very tired, so excuse any grammar mistakes... ======================================================================= THE GAME CARD COLLECTION QUEST ======================================================================= You just started the game, and found your way to the first town. You got the axe, found the lumberjack and he fixed the bridge to the other side. Good, because now you can see the rest of the town. And wandering around, you see a house with a strange sign. It have a picture of a "grey cylinder with red lids". You walk in. Inside there is this strange salesman with an even stranger machine behind him. He is a Mixture artisan, and can mix stuff for you. You want to try, but you only have an axe. He recomend you to gather more itens before trying to mix items. And then he gives you a present. A blue book. He tells that some mixtures summon memories that materialize as a information-filled card. A Game Card. And you can arrange this cards on this blue book he gave you. Now, you can start the hunt for the Game Card collection... _________________________________________ \ / \ ITEM MIXTURE - OBTAINING GAME CARDS / /_____________________________________\ In Bomberman Jetters you can obtain special bombs that aid your quest. As its antecessor, you can obtain those bombs by mixing items. But diferent than Bomberman Quest/Story, here you may fuse other items as well. To mixture, you must have at least one of two types of items: there are the *Item Type A*, or *Base Item*, that are items that will have another importance, like aid on the main quest, or simply activate a side-quest. And there are the *Item Type B*, or *Mixable Item*, that have no great impact on the game (except the ones that are used to make bombs). Now, you must find a Mixture Shop. Talk to the man, and he will say that each mixture cost 10 G. Pay and start! Basically, what you do here is mix Item A with Item B, and get something else. But there is a catch: The Item Type A used will remain with you, but the Item Type B used will be gone. So you will have to hunt down that item again, in order to use it. That´s why I told you it would be tiresome. And that´s all for the basics. Let´s move on. ___________________________________ \ / \ MIXTURE SHOPS OVER THE GALAXY / /_______________________________\ I will not give a deep explaination of where those shops are, because... honestly, they are ridiculously easy to find. But when you find yourself going around the world to hunt items, you surely will want to know the nearest shop to go. Take your time and learn the names of the planets. We will use those a lot. And prepare to use Pommy (your first Kyarabon) a lot too. ====================/ PLANET 1 - NOMBIRI / ------------------/ The first planet you adventure yourself. Looks like Earth, but a little more rustic. (SHOP) It´s hard to believe that you will miss it, since it´s here were you get the Blue Book. On the right screen of the first town, you will find it. Remember to activate the teleport pole on this area by facing it and pressing A. Now, everytime you want to visit it, choose Pommy, teleport to the first town, walk right and you will find it. =====================/ PLANET 2 - TOKOTOKO / -------------------/ A giant desert, made of stones and dunes of sand. (SHOP) This one is in the second town (inferior left corner of the map). In the lower part of the town. Activate the pole near it, so you can quickly visit it with Pommy. =====================/ PLANET 3 - SEKASEKA / -------------------/ Half of this planet is filled by modern tecnology; the other is a magma flaming hell. (SHOP 1) You will find it just by wandering the pacific side of the city. It's also very near of a pole. (SHOP 2) On the second screen (down to up) of the hazardous side of the city, there is a building similar to the first shop. The pole, however, is found walking down to the lower screen, but also near. (BEST TELEPORT) First one, no doubt. Pommy take you to the door of the place, and have no enemies around. ==========================/ PLANET 4 - KODAI NOMBIRI / ------------------------/ Yes, it´s called Nombiri too. Actually, is "Ancient Nombiri", which means that you are in the past. Basically, it´s the same place, with a whole new feeling of adventuring. And have a lot of chickens... (SHOP) On the second town, there is a golden temple (in the place where the scientist lab is on the normal Nombiri planet). Inside, go to the left side, and you will see a door with the sign. Just don´t forget the pole outside the temple. ===============/ PLANET BOMBER / -------------/ This is not an unhabited planet. The only thing you can do here is play an special mini-game. But we will come back here, be sure. ============================/ ENEMY SHIP "SENKAN AMUZYO" / --------------------------/ Well, here, in the middle of the asteroid belt, lies the enemy ship, where Mujoe and the HIGE HIGE Bandits are waiting for the final showdown (Last dungeon. No shop at all). ________________________________________ \ / \ OBTAINING ITEM TYPE A - BASE ITEMS / /____________________________________\ The first type of items, the base items, are the ones that will remain with you for the rest of the game. But before you can put then to use in a mixture formula, you must first fulfill their utilities. Here is where to find and how to use those items. ---------- BOMB MOLD < Gate Key ---------- (Nombiri) This one you HAVE to obtain, or you will not advance in the game at all. First, you must get the kyarabon Shell. Take the right exit of the first town. Cross the river and follow it down until you see another bridge. Ignore it and go down until you find an enemy turtle. Behind her is the entrance to the Shell cave. If you defeat its mini-game, he will join you (see "The Arcade Paradise" chapter for more info), and also get the Gate Key. Go back to the first town (via Pommy) and take the right exit of the town again. Cross the bridge and go up this time. Once you reach the closed gate, talk to the gate keeper and give him the Gate Key. Glad, he will give you the Bomb Mold. -------- HAND AXE -------- (Nombiri) You also need this item to advance in the game. Take it from the girl in upper left house, on the right side of the first town, and take the upper exit of this screen. Keep going until you find the lumberjack (it will not be that hard to find). Give the axe to him and he will cut the wood needed to fix the bridge. And the axe remains with you. --------------- EMPTY BOTTLE < Golden Potion --------------- (Tokotoko) When you visit the second town, in one of the houses will be a sick old man and a girl. Talk to both and go back to the first town. Now the medic on the item shop is selling the Golden Potion for 100 G (money that the girl have kindly left with you for this purpose). Take it to the old man and he will get well in the same instant. Your reward is the empty bottle, as dumb as it may sound. The upper right gate is now opened. ----------------------------------- GEAR < Ring < Reply Letter < Love Letter ----------------------------------- (Tokotoko) In the desert, to the right side of the second town, are wells that lead you to a crystal cave under the sand. I really don´t remember too much of this cave, so my instruction will be a little vague. This desert have four screen. In the upper right screen, take the well and find a cave with a man alone (blast weak walls in needed). He will give you a letter. Now go back to the surface and use the well in the lower right screen of the desert. Now, you must find a cave with a girl. She will give you a reply letter. Take it back to the man that gave you the first letter and he will then give you a ring. Now, take this ring to one guy in the upper left house on the second town and he will give you the Gear. ------------- STAINED PAPER < Card Key ------------- (Sekaseka) Go to the most upper left building on the first and pacific city. On the last floor, there is a man who will give to you a Card Key. Exit the city and follow your way to the second city. You will reach a locked gate, that will unlock with the item you just got. Keep playing normally, until the time you have to go throught the sewer. Once you exit the sewer, go left until you see a cracked wall. Blast it and you will find a man inside. He give you the stained paper. ----------- SILVER COIN < Money Bag < Old Scroll ----------- (Ancient Nombiri - Nombiri) On Ancient Nombiri, talk to the old man in the lower right house, of the first (upper) screen of the second town. He will give the Old Scroll for you. Now, go to the normal Nombiri, and visit the very same house (same place, diferent times; remember?). The farmer will open a stairway behind his house. Just make you way in and get the Money Bag. Take it back to the farmer and he will give you a Silver Coin as a reward. ------- GLASSES < Signs ------- (Ancient Nombiri) After you have gotten the Wind Bomb, take the upper exit on the first town. Pass the abyss using the wind bomb on the windmill bridge. Go north all the way until you see a hut. Inside there is an old man that ask you to finish his job and put signs on the places that are missing one. In resume: all those places where you saw a square of mud with a hole on it is a place to put a sign. You must put all 10 in their places, all over the planets. Feels like hunting Gold Skultulas, don´t you think? 1- Right of the mountain teleport pole. 2- 3- 4- In the upper left screen, on the desert at right of the second town, and enter the north cave. In the middle of a dead-end room in the cave. 5- 6- 7 - Just outside the hut you got the signs. 8 - Near the woodcave where you get the tornado. 9 - 10 - Once you use all the ten signes, go back to the old man and he will give you his glasses. You can now go to the place where you fixed a sign inside a cave, in Tokotoko, and read the sign, to unleash a new place: the Sign Kingdom. No, seriouly... There is even a king and queen signs on here... ------------ BRONZE MEDAL SILVER MEDAL GOLDEN MEDAL ------------ (Planet Bomber) I told you we would come back here, didn´t I? Well, here is the deal: the grampa bomber here ask you for 20 G, in order of you start playing this mini-game. Before you pay, read this paragraph below: In this game, there is five rooms, where you have to kill all the enemies and reach the stairs that appear on the middle top wall. But you have a counted time for doing it. Not that it is impossible to do it at time, but the objective here is to obtain as many points as you can - and for that, you will need every single second. You start with 2 bombs, 2 levels of power, and no upgrade. You can find upgrades along the way; they have fixed places. So, if you found an upgrade in one certain block, rest asure that it WILL BE THERE in the next time you try this game again. You score points for every second left, every enemy destroyed, and all the blocks you blasted. But when you are hit by something, you will lose points. In the end, you will be awarded with a medal, depending of your score. Silver is easy to obtain; Bronze you get simply by reaching the end; but the real deal is getting the Golden Medal. It is a true bomberman challenge, that will demand great memorization, timing and manual skills to fulfill (to not say a lot of practice). And a little aid of my part as well: * * I PROMISE I WILL WORK ON SOME STRATEGY * * Getting a higher medal at your first try will also get you the lower ones. So if you get a Golden Medal at the first shot, you also get the other two. It´s very unlikely to get a Golden Medal without a few (frustated) tries. But the prize is needed to complete the album, as well as a true medal of pride. ___________________________________________ \ / \ OBTAINING ITEM TYPE B - MIXABLE ITEMS / /_______________________________________\ Now, it´s time to hunt down the second type of items, the mixable items. Since you will be hunting those for more time, I will help you by giving a complete list of possibilities for each mixable item, right near the method of how to get it. That way, you don´t have to keep scrolling up and down on this guide. --------- ICE SHARD --------- You can obtain it both in Nombiri and Ancient Nombiri. It doesn't matter at all, but it´s faster in normal Nombiri. BEST WAY: Teleport to the mountain point, go right and into the cave. Blast the iceberg and get it. Exit the cave, and teleport to the mixer in the first town. (Kyarabom recomended: Pommy) + Bomb Mold = Frost Bomb + Hand Axe = Card 06 + Empty Bottle = Green Potion + Gear = Card 21 + Stained Paper = Card 14 + Silver Coin = Card 04 + Glasses = Card 11 + Bronze Medal = Card 12 + Silver Medal = Card 18 + Golden Medal = Card 28 ---------- GREEN MOSS ---------- You can get in Tokotoko, inside the door opened when you cure the old man, in the second town. See "Empty Bottle" for more details. BEST WAY: Rush inside the cave, get the moss and just come back. Easy and simple (Kyarabon recomended: Pan) + Bomb Mold = Flare Bomb + Hand Axe = Card 09 + Empty Bottle = Red Potion + Gear = Card 04 + Stained Paper = Card 06 + Silver Coin = Card 22 + Glasses = Card 15 + Bronze Medal = Card 11 + Silver Medal = Card 12 + Golden Medal = Card 14 ----------- WATER STONE ----------- The only place you can get it, is in Sekaseka, in the Water Pond (the only blue circle on the map). But you have to beat a bomber to get it. And that will be boring. BEST WAY: Teleport to the entrance of the Water Pond. Go in and reach the central plataform. In here, the blue flame man will challenge you to a bomb duel. Normal and Hydro bombs don´t hurt him, and all other bombs requires four blasts to kill him, EXCEPT the Frost Bomb, that do it in two blasts. Kicking bombs and trapping him are your best chances to beat him. After that, get the Water Stone, get away from the cave and quickly teleport to the shop in the First Town. (Kyarabon recomended: Pommy and Popo/Dora) + Bomb Mold = Hydro Bomb + Hand Axe = Card 10 + Empty Bottle = Green Potion + Gear = Card 27 + Stained Paper = Card 15 + Silver Coin = Card 26 + Glasses = Card 19 + Bronze Medal = Card 07 + Silver Medal = Card 17 + Golden Medal = Card 25 ------------- SMALL TYPHOON ------------- On Ancient Nombiri, there is a special puzzle that grant you with the Small Typhoon. Antoher boring mixable item to get. BEST WAY: Rush to the south exit on the second town, and make your way jumping in the mushrooms, to reach the giant wooden cave. Inside, solve the puzzle by doing this: stay on the typhoon symbol on the floor and walk 2 steps left, and 2 steps down - pushing the block down. Now, walk 2 steps right and push another block. Now you just wait for the typhoon go into the symbol and get it. Out of the cave and Pommy-port to the temple in the second town. (Kyarabon recomended: Pan and Pommy) + Bomb Mold = Wind Bomb + Hand Axe = Card 17 + Empty Bottle = Small Potion + Gear = Card 06 + Stained Paper = Card 22 + Silver Coin = Card 14 + Glasses = Card 16 + Bronze Medal = Card 18 + Silver Medal = Card 23 + Golden Medal = Card 22 ---------- RED FLOWER ---------- You can get this flower by mixturing itens or inside the crystal cave, under the big desertof the Tokotoko. BEST WAY: Teleport to the dungeon entrance, and go left, back into the well. Go up the stairs, right, and down the stairs. Now follow the upper path until you see a bridge. Go throught it and enter the cave in the small island. Get the flower and the hell outta here! (Kyarabon recomended: Pommy) + Bomb Mold = Card 04 + Hand Axe = Card 03 + Empty Bottle = Green Potion + Gear = Card 18 + Stained Paper = Card 06 + Silver Coin = Card 19 + Glasses = Card 25 + Bronze Medal = Card 11 + Silver Medal = Green Potion + Golden Medal = Card 21 ----------- CHICKEN EGG ----------- You can get it by mixture or by killing chickens, only in Ancient Nombiri. Oddly, the chickens in normal Nombiri don´t left egg when they die... BEST WAY: Teleport to your bike and kill all the chickens. There are many in this area, and they easily let an egg around... (Kyarabon recomended: Pommy and Popo) + Bomb Mold = Card 06 + Hand Axe = Red Flower + Empty Bottle = Card 12 + Gear = Lizard Tail + Stained Paper = Card 17 + Silver Coin = Card 10 + Glasses = Card 15 + Bronze Medal = Card 13 + Silver Medal = Card 21 + Golden Medal = Card 25 ------- MARACAS ------- You can get it by mixture or by killing those walking cactus on Tokotoko. Man, you will get sick of those cactus... BEST WAY: Teleport to the first town, go down and near the lone hut. There is a walking cactus here. Kill it, and if he don´t let a Maraca for you, go in the cave, go out, and he will come back. Kill it until you get you item and teleport away. (Kyarabon recomended: Pommy) + Bomb Mold = Card 14 + Hand Axe = Card 09 + Empty Bottle = Card 11 + Gear = Card 26 + Stained Paper = Baloon + Silver Coin = Card 07 + Glasses = Lizard Tail + Bronze Medal = Card 21 + Silver Medal = Card 22 + Golden Medal = Card 26 ----------- LIZARD TAIL ----------- You can get it by mixture or by killing those flaming lizards in Sekaseka. You need Hydro Bombs and patience, because they are inteli- gent enemies. BEST WAY: Teleport to the dungeon and walk to building right of it. there is a lizard here. Kill it with Hydro Bombs. If he don´t left a tail, go in the building, come out, and kill it again. Try to trap him; if you are quick enough, he will not avoid your bomb. (Kyarabon recomended: Pommy and Popo/Dora) + Bomb Mold = Card 10 + Hand Axe = Card 18 + Empty Bottle = Card 15 + Gear = Card 10 + Stained Paper = Card 23 + Silver Coin = Card 02 + Glasses = Card 17 + Bronze Medal = Chicken Egg + Silver Medal = Card 09 + Golden Medal = Card 19 ------ BALOON ------ The only way I found to get it is by mixture. And it is mixing the Stained Paper with Maracas. That means... yes, you will hunt down those Cactus for Maracas again. Getting sick and tired now? BEST WAY: See "Maracas" + Bomb Mold = Card 18 + Hand Axe = Card 11 + Empty Bottle = Card 17 + Gear = Card 20 + Stained Paper = Card 19 + Silver Coin = Maracas + Glasses = Card 21 + Bronze Medal = Card 15 + Silver Medal = Card 23 + Golden Medal = Card 08 ----------- BLUE FLOWER ----------- You can get the Blue Flower only in Ancient Nombiri. BEST WAY: Exit the second screen of the first town by going south. Go down and cross the abyss by windmill bridge (use Wind Bombs), and enter the cave. Cross the cave and once out, go right. Blast the sprout with an Hydro Bomb and go up it. Pick the flower and teleport. (Kyarabon recomended: Pommy) + Bomb Mold = Card 22 + Hand Axe = Card 20 + Empty Bottle = Red Potion + Gear = Card 14 + Stained Paper = Card 07 + Silver Coin = Card 20 + Glasses = Card 19 + Bronze Medal = Card 10 + Silver Medal = Card 15 + Golden Medal = Red Flower ____________________________ \ / \ ALTERNATE MIXTURE LIST / /________________________\ BOMB MOLD + Ice Shard = Frost Bomb + Green Moss = Flare Bomb + Water Stone = Hydro Bomb + Small Typhoon = Wind Bomb + Red Flower = 04 + Chicken Egg = 06 + Maracas = 14 + Lizard Tail = 10 + Baloon = 18 + Blue Flower = 22 _______________________________________________________________________ HAND AXE + Ice Shard = 06 + Green Moss = 09 + Water Stone = 10 + Small Typhoon = 17 + Red Flower = 03 + Chicken Egg = Red Flower + Maracas = 09 + Lizard Tail = 18 + Baloon = 11 + Blue Flower = 20 _______________________________________________________________________ EMPTY BOTTLE + Ice Shard = Green Potion + Green Moss = Red Potion + Water Stone = Green Potion + Small Typhoon = Small Potion + Red Flower = Green Potion + Chicken Egg = 12 + Maracas = 11 + Lizard Tail = 15 + Baloon = 17 + Blue Flower = Red Potion _______________________________________________________________________ GEAR + Ice Shard = 21 + Green Moss = 04 + Water Stone = 27 + Small Typhoon = 06 + Red Flower = 18 + Chicken Egg = Lizard Tail + Maracas = 26 + Lizard Tail = 10 + Baloon = 20 + Blue Flower = 14 _______________________________________________________________________ STAINED PAPER + Ice Shard = 14 + Green Moss = 06 + Water Stone = 15 + Small Typhoon = 22 + Red Flower = 06 + Chicken Egg = 17 + Maracas = Baloon + Lizard Tail = 23 + Baloon = 19 + Blue Flower = 07 _______________________________________________________________________ SILVER COIN + Ice Shard = 04 + Green Moss = 22 + Water Stone = 26 + Small Typhoon = 14 + Red Flower = 19 + Chicken Egg = 10 + Maracas = 07 + Lizard Tail = 02 + Baloon = Maracas + Blue Flower = 20 _______________________________________________________________________ GLASSES + Ice Shard = 11 + Green Moss = 15 + Water Stone = 19 + Small Typhoon = 16 + Red Flower = 25 + Chicken Egg = 15 + Maracas = Lizard Tail + Lizard Tail = 17 + Baloon = 21 + Blue Flower = 19 _______________________________________________________________________ BRONZE MEDAL + Ice Shard = 12 + Green Moss = 11 + Water Stone = 07 + Small Typhoon = 18 + Red Flower = 11 + Chicken Egg = 13 + Maracas = 21 + Lizard Tail = Chicken Egg + Baloon = 15 + Blue Flower = 10 _______________________________________________________________________ SILVER MEDAL + Ice Shard = 18 + Green Moss = 12 + Water Stone = 17 + Small Typhoon = 23 + Red Flower = Green Potion + Chicken Egg = 21 + Maracas = 22 + Lizard Tail = 09 + Baloon = 23 + Blue Flower = 05 _______________________________________________________________________ GOLDEN MEDAL + Ice Shard = 28 + Green Moss = 14 + Water Stone = 25 + Small Typhoon = 22 + Red Flower = 21 + Chicken Egg = 25 + Maracas = 26 + Lizard Tail = 19 + Baloon = 08 + Blue Flower = Red Flower __________________________________ \ / \ THE LAST CARD - GAME CARD 01 / /______________________________\ Now, you must be asking yourself: "Okay, I went to the trouble of getting all the possible mixtures, but I still didn´t got the Card 01. How can that be?". The answer could not be more simple... FINISH THE GAME. Once you kick the last boss' ass, the game will call the save screen. Save and enjoy the ending. Once you load the game again, your Game Card collection will be awarded with the legendary cover of the first Bomberman Game. And if you did followed this guide, you may also have the complete collection. Be full of pride, you did a good work! ======================================================================= THE OTHER SUB-QUESTS ======================================================================= Well, as a bonus, I will give a quick list of thing you will also want to do, in order to complete everything in this game. ________________________________________ \ / \ THE RED BOOK - KYARABON LIST QUEST / /____________________________________\ You may not have the Kyarabon Battle anymore, but you still have the company of those useful beasts. And they evolve now, into better and more fearsome forms. The mentioned Red Book is obtained in the isolated hut on the first town of the Nombiri planet. But to reach there, you must take the most right exit, cross the river and follow it down screen, until you find another bridge. Cross it and go to the left exit, then up. Inside, there are scientists that will give the Red Book to you (answer the first option). Once you get it, you will register every single stage of evolution of your Kyarabons. Making they evolve is not dificult at all: you just need to feed then. Once you blast brushes, blocks, barrels and similars, you may find fruits. If you get it, they will feed the currently selected Kyarabon. If you go to the Kyarabon menu, you will see a bar under its picture; once it fills, a new stage is reached. The best way of leveling up a Kyarabon if finding one of those caves full of blastable blocks (and without enemies wouldn´t be bad), and blast everything away. Just beware with the skull sign; if you get it, you will become slower and unable to use bombs for a certain time (unless you have a Red Potion to use and remove this status). Just remember: the last evolution is the fourth star. So, if a Kyarabon reached that stage, take it out and choose other one to level up. ----- POMMY ----- The pink Pikachu-like animal. As evolves, his ears grows until become a par of wings. *Get*: You start with him *Power*: TELEPORT - He take you to your space bike or a Teleport pole that you have activated (they have a blue tip, and once you activate, they will become red). *Level Up*: It doesn´t seen to have any effect on the teleport. But Pommy´s last form have a coller teleport animaton. ----- SHELL ----- An cone-shaped shell. Evolves to a three-tipped cone shell monster on the end. *Get*: (Nombiri) Take the right exit of the first town. Cross the river and follow it down until you see another bridge. Ignore it and go down until you find an enemy turtle. Behind her is the entrance to the Shell cave. If you defeat its mini-game, he will join you (see "Mini Game Paradise" for more info). *Power*: SHIELD - Hold B button to hold a shield in front of you. It will protect you from many projectiles in the game. *Level Up*: The shield grows bigger. In the last stage, it covers Bomberman entirely, protecting him from all sides. ----- ELEFU ----- A brown small elefant, that become a mean-looking mammoth on his last evolution. *Get*: (Nombiri) Go throught the cave to the left of the second town teleport pole. Go up and blast the weak wall you see. Inside this new cave, go up. There is an mother Elefu and two explorers will ask to return its child. Go back, then right and follow the path until you find him. Take him back to his mother, to say goodbye, because he decided to remain with you. *Power*: STRENGHT - Allows Bomberman to push diferent colored blocks. The power is active even if Elefu isn´t the selected Kyarabon. *Level Up*: No effect at all. --- PAN --- A spotted yellow dog. Funny, if you consider that all his evolutions are cat-like. *Get*: (Tokotoko), On the first town, there is a Gym-looking place. Go in and talk to the guy. He will challenge you to a Pan Race. Beat him and get a Pan as reward. If you come back here, you can race again for money. *Power*: RUNNING - Pan runs faster than Bomberman, holding him on the back, as long as you hold the B button. *Level Up*: The animation changes, and Pan become faster. --- IRU --- Looks like a purple tadpole. But evolves into a cool-looking sea serpent on its last evolution. *Get*: (Tokotoko) Do the quest for getting the Empty Bottle, and open the upper right gate on the second town. Go there and get the Moss. Do a Flare Bomb mixture and go back to the gate. Using Flare Bomb show invisible things, like the Iru in the very middle of this room. Once revealed, he joins you. *Power*: INVISIBILITY - Makes Bomberman invisible to many enemies for a short time. *Level Up*: The invisibility time raises. ---- DORA ---- Looks like a pink dino with a rhino horn. But.. who would say; he becomes a nasty dragon at the end! *Get*: ...Next update. *Power*: FAST EXPLOSION - Your bombs explode faster than normal. Be very, VERY careful. The bomb power becomes two while Dora is selected. *Level Up*: Each form add a new Bomb Power, to a max of five. ----- PTERA ----- A pink pterodactyl, with a beak. Evolves to a nasty bird/reptile thing with horns and dragon wings. A dragon with a beak, I guess. *Get*: ...Next update. *Power*: SLOW EXPLOSION - Your bombs explode slower than normal. Be very, VERY pacient. The bomb power becomes two while Ptera is selected. *Level Up*: Each form add a new Bomb Power, to a max of five. ---- POPO ---- He looks like a brown mushroom. Get wing at some stage, but end up looking like a fish. Still, one of my favorites. *Get*: ...Next update. *Power*: REMOTE CONTROL - Your bombs explode when you press B button. If two or more bombs were set, they explode in order. The bomb power becomes two while Popo is selected. *Level Up*: Each form add a new Bomb Power, to a max of five. _____________________________ \ / \ BOMBERMAN UPGRADE QUEST / /_________________________\ Here, you can find the list of places to get all the main upgrades for Bomberman: Hearts, Power Ups and Bomb Ups, as well as his armor. * * NEXT UPDATE, MAYBE * * _________________________ \ / \ THE ARCADE PARADISE / /_____________________\ In the Sekaseka planet, on the dangerous side of the town, there is an almost hidden building. Teleport to the greatest building of the city (where you get Dora), and blow the blocks in front of the main entrance. Go right and throught the fire carefully. Up the screen and you will reach what I call the "Arcade Paradise". Here, you have the chance to play again all the mini-games you have faced before, and also can battle against bosses again. You can only get an arcade machine working if you have already faced the proper game/boss during the game. Beat a game with skill (like beating previous record) can impress the arcade owner, and he will pay 50 G for you. Now tell you mom that you can earn money by playing games... FIRST FLOOR (Map)1 2 3 4 5 (Map) =========== (Map) (Map) This is the area where you play the mini-games. I will explain how the games are played. Since you WILL face those games sooner or later, I will not waste time in writing how to activate those games. 1- *Untouchable Game* The objective here is to not be hit. There will be octopus, arrows and bats all around, and you have to survive as much as you can. You is automatically equiped with Shell, so you can summon a shield to defend shots. But you dodging skill will be tested. Originally, you have 30 second to survive in the first time you play it, but on the arcade, the time goes up and up, until you get hit. 2- *Pan Racing* It annoys me. Your yellow Pan race against computer's red Pan. To make your Pan runs faster, you have to press the button when the bar reaches the last red zone, NOT the end of the bar. Doing it properly will make your Pan dash suddenly. On the quest, you have to beat this game in order to obtain the Kyarabom Pan. 3- *Slot Machine Battle* A weird game. What you have to do here is try to score three good symbols or a good combination. Doing so, you cause damage to that HIGE HIGE robot. But if you score three bad symbols, or a bad combo, it´s the robot that will hurt you. Bomberman, Pommy and the wing are good symbols. The HIGE robot or the Mujoe are Bad Symbols - avoid it in your combinations, or there is a chance that it corrupts your combo to their favor. Win the one that remains concious at the end. On the quest, you have to face only one HIGE. On the arcade, you keep facing many of they, until you get yourself killed or beat then all. 4- *Maze Escape* Here, you have to rush the maze to reach the top. But there are bullets falling from the ceiling, and there are dead ends on the way. Shortest time, best score. I will give you the directions, to navigate your way throught: Any, Right, Left, Right. But you still need to avoid the shots. Good luck. 5- *Star Navigation* My favorite. All you have to do is avoid the obstacles, to survive, and collect as many wing as you can. Simple, but the coolest one to play, in my opinion. Only skill can help you now, my friend... SECOND FLOOR (Map) 4 5 (Map) ============ (Map) 1 2 3 (Map) This is where you can battle bosses again. I could give you any tips about bosses, but if you have Popo with you, do you sincerely think that you need help? Okay, I give you some help... 1- Armadilo HIGE By the time you reach this place, you already have beaten him. TIP: He´s easy, dammit! 2- Spider HIGE By the time you reach this place, you already have beaten him. TIP: Use Flare Bombs, to visualize the invisible blocks. 3- Bettle HIGE Defeat it in Sekaseka main dungeon. TIP: Use Hydro Bombs, to extingush the flames he summon. 4- Golem HIGE Defeat it in Ancient Nombiri main dungeon. TIP: He´s easier than Armadilo HIGE... 5- Demon HIGE / Flame Demon HIGE Defeat the Last dungeon, and save the game at the end. TIP: Use Flare Bombs on Demon HIGE when he dissapears; and Hydro Bomb on the Flame Demon HIGE, to cause doubled damage. Otherwise, he will pulverise you! ======================================================================= EXTRA STUFF ======================================================================= CHEAT CODES -=-=-=-=-=- For you cheaters, that are unable to do a simple hack with a very easy program, there is a few cheats to entertain you: Infinite Money (999) 02036270:03E7 Infinite Healty (10) 0203626E:0A Invincibility* 03002376:00ff *This code allows you to do a funny thing that I do since little, while playing Bomberman games. I call it "The Flame Cross Attack"!! You simply put a bomb near you, and keep pressing the bomb button. Once the bomb explode, it will explode the bomb you just released and will keep doing it again as long as you smash the bomb button. Since you are invincible, you will not stop of doing it. The result: your Bomberman become the center of a constant cross of fire that burns everything it touches (even upgrades). In Bomberman Jetters, this "trick" works better when you don´t have the Bomb Throw upgrade. Not very helpful (unless against bosses), but still very funny to do. THE BOMBERMAN HALL OF FAME -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Copyrights aside, let´s face the truth: this Game Card Collection is a great idea, or it WOULD BE, if it had REALLY listed all Bomberman games. But you can´t see the Playstation games in there, can you? So, in a sign of respect of a unique (and hardly cloned with sucess) genre of game, I will put here - IN THE FUTURE - a complete list of all games that compose this classic game series. ...Stop to think of it, a list of all Bomberman Anime series would be nice too.
