About This Guide ':*:' =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= ':*:' ============================================================================= Me Frog's Introduction: øøøøøøøøøøøøøøøøøøøøøøø Hello everyone! I am me frog. I chose to write this guide because I know there are a lot of people out there who are using Link, and who want to become a good fighter with him. This guide covers EVERYTHING you can do with Link, from Weapon Mode to Arcade Mode. It will even cover the weapons of Link and of course, all of Link's moves and how to use them. No other character will be covered here. In the weapon master section, you'll find detailed guides on how to beat each chapter. The arcade section will simply give you strategies for getting through the battles. The weapon section will tell you each weapon Link can get, and then give a nice description about what it can do. The move list section will cover Link's basic moves and advanced moves. All of the advanced moves will receive a little more info than the basic moves, because they can do more things. BurningFox's Introduction: øøøøøøøøøøøøøøøøøøøøøøøøøø As I was surfing the internet one day I heard the "you got mail" sound. Opening up the E-mail I get an E-mail from Me Frog asking the o mighty, sexy, BurningFox to complete his FAQ. Well, it wasn't exactly like that, but after Me Frog lost interest in this game somehow (I have no clue, this game rules!) I stepped up to finish off the FAQ/Walkthrough. I'm not too talkitive so that's all I have to say, my AIM is BurningPhoenix87 if you ever want to contact me. ============================================================================= .:*:. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= .:*:. Link will charge up energy and his weapon will glow blue for a BRIEF time. During this brief time, your weapon can cause more damage than usual. Keep in mind that if you are attacked during the charge, the charge is cancelled. BOOMERANG: C-Stick down+C-Stick down Pressing C-Down once will cause you to get out your boomerang. Pressing it again will cause you to throw your boomerang. The boomerang flies for only a short distance, but it can hit your enemy twice. It cause around 25 points of damage when it is coming at the enemy for the first time, and causes around 40 points of damage when it is going back to you. Keep in mind that the boomerang does not always hit the enemy a second time. FAIRY BOW: C-Stick left+C-Stick left If you press C-Down once, you'll whip out your fairy bow. Press C-Down a second time and you'll shoot an arrow, which hits for 40 points of damage. If you hold C-Left on your second time, you'll charge an arrow and it'll hit for 60 points of damage. Keep in mind that if you are hit during the charge, the charge is cancelled. BOMB: C-Stick right+C-Stick right If you press C-Right one time, you'll whip out a bomb. Pressing C-Right once more will cause you to throw the bomb. You can only throw your bomb for a short distance and it'll cause only 34 points of damage. If you wait a little before pressing C-Right a second time, the bomb will charge and it'll hit for 38 points of damage when you throw it. Remember that if you are holding them bomb when it explodes, you will be hurt. ============================================================================= .:*:. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= .:*:. Link's Weapon Master Mode ':*:' =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= ':*:' ============================================================================= This guide will... guide you through all of the chapters of the Weapon Master mode. This is how a level is laid out: NAME OBJECTIVE DIFFICULTY NUMBER OF EXP GAINED NUMBER OF GOLD GAINED Lets start then! ============================================================================ Chapter 1 ============================================================================ MISSION ONE: PROVING GROUNDS Clear all the exercises! DIFFICULTY: 1/5 NUMBER OF EXP GAINED: 400 NUMBER OF GOLD GAINED: 600 This is easy, all it is a mission that tells you how to do a bunch of moves. There shouldn't be much trouble with this, just follow the directions on how to do everything. The moves are: ¥ Horizontal Attack ¥ Vertical Attack ¥ Kick ¥ Guarding Yourself ¥ Running around ¥ Throw Ó Guard Impact ¥ Soul Charge If you have any problems with these moves consult the Moves portion of the guide. MISSION TWO: BULWARK RUINS Utilize all that you learned to defeat all the enemies! DIFFICULTY: 1/5 NUMBER OF EXP GAINED: 400 NUMBER OF GOLD GAINED: 900 This is pretty simple. Just use Y + -> over and over knocking out the three enemies. Y + -> is a very strong down slash that knocks them down. Just use it over and over until the mission is completed. MISSION THREE: WARRIOR'S TRIAL GROUNDS Overcome the enemy to clear the trial! DIFFICULTY: 1/5 NUMBER OF EXP GAINED: 400 NUMBER OF GOLD GAINED: 1500 Use Y + ->, Normal Y, to knock him out. Also, lururing him to the side and throwing him off is a good strategy. ============================================================================ Chapter 2 ============================================================================ MISSION ONE: THUBAN FERRY Land 20 hits on the enemy and survive the round! DIFFICULTY: 1/5 NUMBER OF EXP GAINED: 500 NUMBER OF GOLD GAINED: 400 Pretty Easy, he doesn't attack or block which is a nice plus. Just use normal Y until the time is up. You should rack up 30+ hits on him for the win. MISSION TWO: VILLAGE OF ARCHE Strong gusts constantly push you and prevent you from stopping at the edge of the stage. Defeat the enemy under this condition! DIFFICULTY: 1/5 NUMBER OF EXP GAINED: 500 NUMBER OF GOLD GAINED: 800 This is another pretty easy mission, get behind him then use your Y + -> move over and over until he is knocked out or blown off the side. MISSION THREE: MINKAR MINE Navigate through the enemy-infested dungeon and defeat the boss! DIFFICULTY: 2/5 NUMBER OF EXP GAINED: 400 NUMBER OF GOLD GAINED: 1600 Three rooms. The first two are easy battles, just use basic attacks to defeat your opponents. The third room has Yoshimitsu, I suggest just the normal Y attack against him. He's fast, and that attack is fast so it can keep him at bay. ============================================================================ Chapter 3 ============================================================================ MISSION ONE: CARNIVAL You cannot hold your footing at the edge of the stage. Defeat the enemy with a ring out! DIFFICULTY: 2/5 NUMBER OF EXP GAINED: 700 NUMBER OF GOLD GAINED: 1000 The best way to do this is to lead Charade close to the edge, then throw him out of the ring. MISSION TWO: TALITHA GAMBLING DEN Receive heavy damage when knocked against the ground or wall. Defeat the enemy under this condition! DIFFICULTY: 2/5 NUMBER OF EXP GAINED: 700 NUMBER OF GOLD GAINED: 100 Hey look, this mission works well with my favorite move! Y + ->, use that move or X + up over and over until Leonardo has been defeated. MISSION THREE: DIPHADA TEMPLE Throws are more effective. Defeat the enemy! DIFFICULTY: 2/5 NUMBER OF EXP GAINED: 700 NUMBER OF GOLD GAINED: 500 Throws are more effective so use throws to defeat your enemy :). Shouldn't be any trouble there. MISSION FOUR: BENETNASCH HARBOR The enemies' weapons have poison, so you will go numb if you are damaged! Defeat all the enemies under this condition! DIFFICULTY: 2/5 NUMBER OF EXP GAINED: 800 NUMBER OF GOLD GAINED: 2500 This mission shouldn't be too tough. Everyone except for Ivy and Voldo can be defeated by going to the side and throwing them off. For ivy/Voldo use close range fast attacks such as Normal Y and my favorite Y + -> :). ============================================================================ Chapter 4 ============================================================================ MISSION ONE: AL GIEBA RUINS Force the bomb off onto the enemy with your attacks! You win if the enemy has the bomb when time runs out! DIFFICULTY: 2/5 NUMBER OF EXP GAINED: 800 NUMBER OF GOLD GAINED: 1200 This is basically hot potato, Soul Calibur style. A good strategy is let the enemy give you the bomb, then stay close to him until the very last second, where you should do one slash and force it back into his arms. MISSION TWO: WINDMILL Your health is low. Defeat all the enemies under this condition! DIFFICULTY: 3/5 NUMBER OF EXP GAINED: 800 NUMBER OF GOLD GAINED: 1200 Your health starts off at 50%. To end both battles quickly, lure your enemies toward the edge and throw them off. Otherwise, you might die fighting them. MISSION THREE: MEROPE MONASTERY The timer increases with each enemy you defeat. Defeat all the enemies before time runs out! DIFFICULTY: 3/5 NUMBER OF EXP GAINED: 800 NUMBER OF GOLD GAINED: 3000 You'll want to first do an upward vertical attack, then as many downward vertical attacks while the enemy is down. Horizontal attacks are also welcome here, as well as your many throws. Also, go for knocking your enemy out of the ring IF you get close to the edge. MISSION FOUR: DESERTED VILLAGE The enemies favor vertical attacks and are armed with weapons that excel in breaks. Defeat all the enemies under these conditions! DIFFICULTY: 3/5 NUMBER OF EXP GAINED: 900 NUMBER OF GOLD GAINED: 1200 Your enemies constantly use vertical attacks so keep your guard up. Respond with your own vertical attacks, especially the Illusion attack and Down+Y. Throws are not recommended, because it is hard to grab with the constant attacks your enemy is doing. MISSION FIVE: CHARON'S PASS Navigate through the booby-trapped dungeon and defeat the boss! DIFFICULTY: 3/5 NUMBER OF EXP GAINED: 1500 NUMBER OF GOLD GAINED: 3000 You'll have to go through a much larger dungeon this time, with booby-traps. The first level has ice that you can easily slip on. You can use this to make your enemy slip off the ring. Level two has quicksand that you'll sink in if you hold still. Level three has a ring of lava surrounding it that hurts you when you touch it. When you see rising, green dots around your enemy, they are gaining health back so defeat them quickly. When you hit a junction, turn right or you'll end up at a dead end. The sixth level holds the boss, Sophitia. She is fast and tough, so use your best throws and combos to defeat her. ============================================================================ Chapter 5 ============================================================================ MISSION ONE: NEREID GORGE Team up with the fort's soldiers and defeat all the enemies! DIFFICULTY: 3/5 NUMBER OF EXP GAINED: 900 NUMBER OF GOLD GAINED: 2100 You don't actually play as Link at first; he is third in line. However, you should simply do the same outline of a strategy. Just throw your enemies around and do vertical attacks. Other people's downward verticals aren't as good as Link's, but you'll have to live with it for now. The final enemy in line is usually very tough, and you'll probably be forced to use Link then. MISSION TWO: PARADISE OF ALTAIR You are your worst enemy... defeat yourself! DIFFICULTY: 4/5 NUMBER OF EXP GAINED: 900 NUMBER OF GOLD GAINED: 1300 Don't let the game's difficulty rating fool you... this battle is actually quite simple. Start off by doing a bunch of down+Y verticals, and then when Link's health is at about 25%, start throwing him. You should only lose about a quarter of your health here. ============================================================================ Chapter 6 ============================================================================ MISSION ONE: CASTLE OF THE DEAD Defeat the enemy within the time limit. DIFFICULTY: 3/5 NUMBER OF EXP GAINED: 1000 NUMBER OF GOLD GAINED: 800 You fight Berserker here and he can be quite difficult. You pretty much can't let him attack. Otherwise, he'll start doing long combos that are almost impossible to escape from. A safe way is trying to throw him out of the arena, but he might be too quick for you to grab him. Just stick to good combos and guard against his attacks and with some practice, you'll do fine. MISSION TWO: CITY OF NASHIRA The prize money doubles with each win! Gauge your strength and win the matches! DIFFICULTY: 3/5 NUMBER OF EXP GAINED: 1000 NUMBER OF GOLD GAINED: 300 (doubles each battle) The first battle is a pushover. Just do simple vertical and horizontal attacks. After that, you can choose to continue for 600 gold or end the mission right there. I suggest ending the mission; you'll get plenty of gold elsewhere. But if you want to continue, keep in mind that you do not heal at all after a battle. MISSION THREE: SEGINUS TEMPLE The enemy's weapon has the ability to guard break. Defeat the enemy under this condition! DIFFICULTY: 3/5 NUMBER OF EXP GAINED: 1000 NUMBER OF GOLD GAINED: 800 Seung Mina almost never guard breaks, so this is just like any other battle. Use your best combinations and add in a few throws to defeat her. Now, you'll have a choice. Take the left path first to get to mission four. MISSION FOUR: CRYTOMERIA RIDGE Guard impact the enemy's attacks. DIFFICULTY: 3/5 NUMBER OF EXP GAINED: 1200 NUMBER OF GOLD GAINED: 800 Since I can't guard break well, I just toss the enemy out of the ring with an arm twist. I suggest you do that also, since it is a quick and safe way to gain a victory. MISSION FIVE: SIAM RUINS The enemy's weapon absorbs life. Defeat the enemy under this condition! DIFFICULTY: 3/5 NUMBER OF EXP GAINED: 1200 NUMBER OF GOLD GAINED: 800 Link is good for this battle because of his Illusion attack. Just repeatedly jab at the enemy to take off a good chunk of his health. Don't hesitate and use throws only when it is absolutely necessary. MISSION SIX: UNDERGROUND JUNO Navigate through the enemy-infested dungeon and defeat the boss within the time limit! DIFFICULTY: 4/5 NUMBER OF EXP GAINED: 2300 NUMBER OF GOLD GAINED: 3800 There are eleven rooms in this dungeon, so taking the long route won't work at all. Fight you way through the rooms, using the rocket attack and down+Y move, until you reach a junction. Go down and fight your way through some more rooms until you reach yet another junction. Head down again and fight your way through one more room. After that, it's boss time! There are two bosses. I suggest, since you do not regain health, that you defeat the first one quickly by using an arm twist to toss him out of the arena. When you fight the second boss, Astaroth, you can use your bow and boomerang to attack. Don't get in close though. Even though you are fast, Astaroth's attacks can be quite damaging. ============================================================================ Chapter 7 ============================================================================ MISSION ONE: UNDERGROUND PRISON Receive heavy damage when knocked against the ground or wall. Defeat the enemy under this condition! DIFFICULTY: 3/5 NUMBER OF EXP GAINED: 1200 NUMBER OF GOLD GAINED: 1800 Like last time, Up+X is your best friend here. Do that and nothing else and you'll beat this level easily. MISSION TWO: RIGEL, SPIRITUAL CITY Neither you nor the enemy can guard against attacks. Defeat the enemy under this condition! DIFFICULTY: 3/5 NUMBER OF EXP GAINED: 1300 NUMBER OF GOLD GAINED: 1800 Since Leon can't guard, use down+Y. Do that multiple times at once and it'll cause very heavy damage. Once you land, retreat. When Leon attacks, dodge and use down+Y again. Repeat until Leon is K.Oed. MISSION THREE: FORBIDDEN GROUNDS Defeat the enemy! DIFFICULTY: 3/5 NUMBER OF EXP GAINED: 1300 NUMBER OF GOLD GAINED: 900 The rewards are small for a battle like this... Anyway, Inferno looks tough, but he really isn't... I got a perfect on him once! Keep your distance, and use the bow a lot. When Inferno gets down to about 50% health, charge your sword up and run in, doing as many different types of sword slashes as you can. Be careful of Inferno's whip, because it has long range and can deal quite a bit of damage. Avoid that, which is his only big threat, and you'll do fine. ============================================================================ Chapter 8 ============================================================================ MISSION ONE: SIRIUS, CITY IN THE SKY The time increases with each enemy you defeat. However, the enemies' weapons penetrate defenses. Defeat all the enemies before time runs out! DIFFICULTY: 4/5 NUMBER OF EXP GAINED: 1300 NUMBER OF GOLD GAINED: 5000 It is vital that you have the Biggoron's Sword here. Even though you lose a bit of health with each hit, it causes MASSIVE damage. Just slash away at the first three enemies. When you hit Ivy, it becomes tough. Don't let her use her whip, because she won't stop and you'll die. Do as many down+Y attacks as you can to beat her. Do the same with the fifth enemy to defeat them all. Go take the north path to reach mission two MISSION TWO: CRYSTAL MINE The ability to knock back the enemy has been increased, but your health decreases over time. Defeat the enemy under these conditions! DIFFICULTY: 3/5 NUMBER OF EXP GAINED: 1400 NUMBER OF GOLD GAINED: 2000 This is an easy battle. Do a rocket attack to send Berserker into the air, then continue doing rocket attacks to keep him in the air. If he falls on the ground, do a Down+Y attack to defeat him. Do not take the north path now. MISSION THREE: DUHBE ARENA Knock the enemy against the wall and utilize wall combos to defeat the enemy! DIFFICULTY: 3/5 NUMBER OF EXP GAINED: 1400 NUMBER OF GOLD GAINED: 2000 Use kicks to knock Voldo toward the wall. When he is close to it, use an Up+X attack to kick him into the wall. He'll take serious damage. Repeat until Voldo is defeated. MISSION FOUR: IO'S VASE Airborne time is increased due to blasts of wind from below. Defeat the enemy using air combos! DIFFICULTY: 3/5 NUMBER OF EXP GAINED: 1400 NUMBER OF GOLD GAINED: 2000 So. Freaking. Easy. One Up+Y attack and he's dead. You'll go straight to mission six now. MISSION SIX: GRAND SHRINE OF MERAK The enemy's health recovers over time. Defeat the enemy under this condition! DIFFICULTY: 4/5 NUMBER OF EXP GAINED: 1400 NUMBER OF GOLD GAINED: 1200 Finally you fight Veral... anyway, since his health heals over time and since he is powerful, I suggest you lure him toward the edge and use an arm twist to score an R.O. ============================================================================ Chapter 9 ============================================================================ NOTE: It is vital that you have the Biggoron's sword for the rest of WMM. Even if it depletes your health, it is a very powerful weapon with long range. It should be available in the shop. MISSION ONE: CORRIDOR OF THE SKY Only the enemy's weapon is visible. Defeat the enemy under this condition! DIFFICULTY: 3/5 NUMBER OF EXP GAINED: 1500 NUMBER OF GOLD GAINED: 2200 Easy battle. Use a bunch of rockets and down+Y attacks to quickly deplete Astaroth's health. Then do a couple of quick horizontals to defeat him. MISSION TWO: ANCIENT AMPHITHEATER Unseen forces push the combatants together. Defeat the opponent's under this condition! A bonus is available during the matches! DIFFICULTY: 3/5 NUMBER OF EXP GAINED: 1700 NUMBER OF GOLD GAINED: Bonus! This is a great way to get gold. You can easily get at least 25000! These are 15 second battles, and you don't regain health, making it difficult. A quick ring out per battle is the best way to go. Otherwise, you might be at too low health when you get into the later battles. MISSION THREE: RECLUSIVE PALACE Only one part of the enemy can be seen! Defeat the enemy under this condition! DIFFICULTY: 3/5 NUMBER OF EXP GAINED: 1700 NUMBER OF GOLD GAINED: 2200 Only Charade's legs can be seen. Stick to vertical attacks only or low kicks. Don't do anything else because it'll always miss. ============================================================================ Chapter 10 ============================================================================ MISSION ONE: MIDNIGHT COLISEUM Your health is low. Defeat all the enemies under this condition! DIFFICULTY: 4/5 NUMBER OF EXP GAINED: 1800 NUMBER OF GOLD GAINED: 6000 This is a hard, difficult battle. You start at about 75% health and recover barely any when you win a battle. You should stick to ring outs, because they are a fast and easy way to defeat the enemy. MISSION TWO: COURT OF THE DEAD Navigate through the enemy infested dungeon and defeat the boss! DIFFICULTY: 4/5 NUMBER OF EXP GAINED: 4200 NUMBER OF GOLD GAINED: 3700 Fight your way through all of the rooms until you reach the boss. Don't go south on the first junction, and take a left at the second and third dungeon. You should have to fight through nine rooms before you reach Leon. He is the same as usual. Just use vertical and horizontal attacks do a couple of throws to defeat him. MISSION THREE: TARTAROS Unleash all of your power and vanquish the enemy! DIFFICULTY: 4/5 NUMBER OF EXP GAINED: 2500 NUMBER OF GOLD GAINED: 1200 Inferno is actually pretty easy. You'll want to stay back though, and use moves like your bow to attack him. When he loses about 25% of his health he'll evolve, although there is no visible difference. Now, you should rush in and do your rocket attack, followed by two to three down+Y combos. That should quickly cut his health down. When he loses about 75% of his health he'll evolve once more. Stick to the same strategy and he'll eventually fall. CONGRAGULATIONS! WEAPON MASTER MODE COMPLETE! The second part of this guide will cover extra weapon-master mode ============================================================================ Chapter 1 ============================================================================ MISSION ONE: PROVING GROUNDS Combatants are launched high i nto the air when knocked against the wall or ground. Both combatants' health recovers. Defeat the enemy under these conditions! DIFFICULTY: 2/5 NUMBER OF EXP GAINED: 800 NUMBER OF GOLD GAINED: 1200 Simple. Just use Right+Y do to a downward slash and knock the enemy to the ground. Do this a couple of times to defeat them. You have to be quick though, since their health recovers. MISSION TWO: BULWARK RUINS Defeat all the enemies! DIFFICULTY: 3/5 NUMBER OF EXP GAINED: 800 NUMBER OF GOLD GAINED: 1200 The best solution is to backflip toward the edge (Left+left+X) and then let the enemy come to you. Then use your arm twist for a quick ring out. Now just do this two more times. MISSION THREE: WARRIOR'S TRIAL GROUNDS The enemies have strange weapons... defeat all the enemies under this condition! DIFFICULTY: 2/5 NUMBER OF EXP GAINED: 800 NUMBER OF GOLD GAINED: 3000 This has to be a joke. I mean, the weapons are weak and the characters aren't into combos that much. Just rapidly do horizontal and vertical attacks (a few down+Ys won't hurt) to defeat them. You'll fight Link last and he has the Bug Catching Net :) Hey, it was useful in A Link to the Past! ============================================================================ Chapter 2 ============================================================================ MISSION ONE: THUBAN FERRY Land 20 hits on the quick enemy and survive the round! DIFFICULTY: 4/5 NUMBER OF EXP GAINED: 1000 NUMBER OF GOLD GAINED: 800 Hard. Really Taki moves really fast and attacks often. Just do the rapid illusion attacks and with a bit of luck, you'll win. MISSION TWO: VILLAGE OF ARCHE Strong gusts constantly push you and prevent you from stopping at the edge of the stage. Furthermore, both combatants' speed is increased. Defeat the enemy under these conditions! DIFFICULTY: 3/5 NUMBER OF EXP GAINED: 500 NUMBER OF GOLD GAINED: 800 Just do the same as in the first one; simply lure your enemy toward the edge, and let the wind do the rest. Watch out for his quick speed, or you'll be the one falling victim to the wind. MISSION THREE: MINKAR MINE Navigate through the enemy-infested dungeon and defeat the boss! DIFFICULTY: 3/5 NUMBER OF EXP GAINED: 800 NUMBER OF GOLD GAINED: 2200 Same dungeon as the first time around, except the enemies are a bit tougher. Just use constant ring outs and dodge by backflips, and you'll do fine. ============================================================================ Chapter 3 ============================================================================ MISSION ONE: CARNIVAL You cannot hold your footing at the edge of the stage, and the gravity is weaker. Defeat the enemy with a ring out! DIFFICULTY: 2/5 NUMBER OF EXP GAINED: 1300 NUMBER OF GOLD GAINED: 2000 Easy. Just retreat toward the edge of the stage (not the complete edge, unless you want to die) and arm twist to defeat Berserker. MISSION TWO: TALITHA GAMBLING DEN Combatants recieve heavy damage when knocked against the ground or wall. Furthermore, you appearance has changed. Defeat all the enemies under these conditions! DIFFICULTY: 4/5 NUMBER OF GOLD GAINED: 1300 NUMBER OF EXP GAIEND: 2000 You'll fight as lizardman, who is quite different from Link. You cannot view your command list, but I still suggest that you stick to the same _button combinations_ as Link to defeat the three opponents. MISSION THREE: DIPHDA TEMPLE The enemy will continually guard. Cause a Guard Break and attack while the enemy's defenses are down! DIFFICULTY: 3/5 NUMBER OF EXP GAINED: 1300 NUMBER OF GOLD GAINED: 1000 Bleh! I don't believe in guard breaks! Just do an arm twist to chuck Charade out of the ring. Careful though, because your time is very tight. MISSION FOUR: BENETNASCH HARBOR Defeat all the enemies! DIFFICULTY: 4/5 NUMBER OF EXP GAINED: 1500 NUMBER OF GOLD GAINED: 5000 GOD! It seems whenever you try to grab one of the enemies, they grab you. Then they proceed to do a very _long_ series of attacks that you just have to live with. Keep your guard up and drop it only to throw when you are near the edge. Do that four times to win. ============================================================================ Chapter 4 ============================================================================ MISSION ONE: AL GIEBA RUINS Force the bomb off onto the enemy with your attacks! You win if the enemy has the bomb when the timer runs out. DIFFICULTY: 2/5 NUMBER OF EXP GAINED: 1500 NUMBER OF GOLD GAINED: 2400 Easy. Just give the enemy the bomb then proceed to do a long combo that lasts throughout the rest of the time and you'll win. Stupid bomb. MISSION TWO: WINDMILL Your health is low. Defeat all the enemies under this condition! DIFFICULTY: 3/5 NUMBER OF EXP GAINED: 1500 NUMBER OF GOLD GAINED: 2400 TWO Assasins? GOD FORBID! Try to lure your enemies near the edge then do any type of throw that'll cause a ring out. This is harder than it sounds though because the enemies are quick. MISSION THREE: MEROPE MONASTERY The timer increases with each enemy you defeat. Figure out the best way to defeat all the enemies before time runs out! DIFFICULTY: 4/5 NUMBER OF EXP GAINED: 1500 NUMBER OF GOLD GAINED: 6000 AUGHHHH! Hard level. You have only twenty seconds to start out with, and you gain 15 seconds for each battle you win. You DO NOT want to try to do regular slashes and combos; that'll just waste time and since the enemies aren't easily damaged, you'll have about two seconds left on the clock before you beat the first battle, then you'll probably lose the second. Backflip to the edge, then proceed with ring outs. Some of the later enemies might be hard, but keep trying AND DON'T DROP YOUR GUARD! If you do, you'll be pounced on and it'll be near impossible to escape the constant attacks. Also beware of the edge, since an arm twist always throws the enemy behind you, and you can easily be knocked off. Keep trying though; you'll eventually beat this level. MISSION FOUR: DESERTED VILLAGE The enemies favor Horizontal Attacks and are armed with weapons that are strong against Breaks. Defeat the enemies under these conditions! DIFFICULTY: 3/5 NUMBER OF EXP GAINED: 1800 NUMBER OF GOLD GAINED: 2400 Simple. You can either do a couple of ring outs, or you can constantly do Down+Y and Up+Y. Both these methods guarantee you an easy victory. MISSION FIVE: CHARON'S PASS Navigate through the booby-trapped dungeon and defeat the boss! DIFFICULTY: 3/5 NUMBER OF EXP GAINED: 1500 NUMBER OF GOLD GAINED: 6000 Here, it is the same traps as last time, except the enemies are tougher. I will repost the rooms here. You'll have to go through a much larger dungeon this time, with booby-traps. ============================================================================ Chapter 5 ============================================================================ MISSION ONE: Neried Gorgel Control a special team to defeat the enemies DIFFICULTY: 3/5 NUMBER OF EXP GAINED: 1500 NUMBER OF GOLD GAINED: 3400 The first character you'll use is Asassain. He is by far the best character, try to KO at lease two of the opponents with him. His Y attacks, and grabs are pretty good, so use them. With Beserker and LizardMan just try to take down the last opponent if needed using Y attacks. MISSION TWO: Paradise of Altar The enemies have excellent speed and health. The ability to knock back the enemy has been increased. Defeat all the enemies within the time limit! DIFFICULTY: 4/5 NUMBER OF EXP GAINED: 1500 NUMBER OF GOLD GAINED: 2000 Ummm... this mission is SCARY. The opponents have MASSIVE health and very high speed. Try to guard block their attack then throw them over the side. If you can't guard block this mission will be a little harder. ============================================================================ Chapter 6 ============================================================================ MISSION ONE: Castle of the Dead The enemy has excellent speed and health. Furthermore, your health decreases over time. Defeat the enemy within the Time Limit! DIFFICULTY: 3/5 NUMBER OF EXP GAINED: 1600 NUMBER OF GOLD GAINED: 1300 This mission isn't that tough. Since the enemy has very high health, lure them over to the side and throw them off for the easy victory :). MISSION TWO: City of Nashira The prize money doubles with each win. Gauge your strength and with the matches! DIFFICULTY: 3/5 NUMBER OF EXP GAINED: 1600 NUMBER OF GOLD GAINED: 800-12800 Just use your best attacks to win. Using Y attacks is a nice strategy. A couple of Y + -> or Y + down and the opponent is down. Also, throws work very well here, because the whole arena is surrounded by water. I suggest goin' for it all because it's not too difficult. MISSION THREE: Seginus Temple The enemies weeapon has the ability to GuardBreak. Defeat the enemy under these conditions. DIFFICULTY: 3/5 NUMBER OF EXP GAINED: 1600 NUMBER OF GOLD GAINED: 1300 Yippie! She has the ability to Guard Break. Seriously, this is another push over match. You can defeat her easily with your sword, but ocassionally she'll GuardBreak. Just use your bow if you want to be careful. MISSION FOUR: Crytomeria Ridge The enemy excels in Guard Impacks. Reverse the Guard Impact back at the enemy! DIFFICULTY: 3/5 NUMBER OF EXP GAINED: 1900 NUMBER OF GOLD GAINED: 1300 Most people like myself don't really care about Guard Impacting, it's pretty hard to do sometimes so I suggest like always Throwing Her off the stage. Link has the best throw in the game, always use it to your advantage :). MISSION FIVE: Siam Ruins Crouch of jump to avoid the effects of frequent earthquakes. Furthermore, the enemies health recovers over time. Defeat the enemy under these conditions! DIFFICULTY: 3/5 NUMBER OF EXP GAINED: 1900 NUMBER OF GOLD GAINED: 1300 This mission isn't very hard, or easy to that effect, but it is very fun to play. The frequent earthquakes offset attack strings and allow you to do Soul Charges so Soul Chargers are your best friend here ^_^. MISSION SIX: Underground Juno Navigate through the booby-trapped dungeon and defeat the boss! DIFFICULTY: 4/5 NUMBER OF EXP GAINED: 3700 NUMBER OF GOLD GAINED: 6100 *Yawn* Dungeons are REALLY boring. The quickest route to the boss is: right, right, down, right, down, down, and VOILA! You're at the boss! This boss battle consists of two fights, neither are very hard because of one factor: the booby-traps. Simply use Link's A + up move over and over and soon both the battles will be over and you are done with this boring dungeon :). ============================================================================ Chapter 7 ============================================================================ MISSION ONE: Underground Prison Knock the enemy against the wall and utilize wall combos to defeat the enemy! DIFFICULTY: 3/5 NUMBER OF EXP GAINED: 1900 NUMBER OF GOLD GAINED: 2900 This is an easy mission for the most part. Simply kick your opponent into the wall using X + up a few times and you're home free. The only way you'll run into trouble is if you get knocked into the wall. MISSION TWO: Rigel, Spiritual City Neither you nor your enemy can guard against attacks. Defeat the enemy under this condition! DIFFICULTY: 3/5 NUMBER OF EXP GAINED: 2000 NUMBER OF GOLD GAINED: 2900 Wow, this is easy. The enemy _cannot_ block and most plays don't block so it's like: Let's give you a free win! Just beat the crap out of Beserker, it's fun and easy, lol ^_^. You do seem to have a lot of life though, so throwing them off the side can finish the match in like 2 seconds. MISSION THREE: Forbiddon Grounds Defeat the enemy! DIFFICULTY: 3/5 NUMBER OF EXP GAINED: 2000 NUMBER OF GOLD GAINED: 1500 This mission is actually VERY hard. Winning is basically all in the luck. Your Bow is a very effective weapon, IF you can hit them with it. I suggest using Y + up or Y + <- repetitivly until Inferno has been conquered. ============================================================================ Chapter 8 ============================================================================ MISSION ONE: Sirius, City in the Sky The time increases with each enemy you defeat. However the enemies health increases over time. Defeat all the enemies before time runs out! DIFFICULTY: 4/5 NUMBER OF EXP GAINED: 2000 NUMBER OF GOLD GAINED: 8000 This is a pretty hard mission, the disadvantages are VERY annoying. Basically, you have to use Y attacks and kill them super fast with them or you'll be screwed. MISSION TWO: Crystal Mine Combantants are launched high into the air when knocked to the ground. Furthermore, the ability to knock back the enemy has been increased. Defeat the enemy under these conditions! DIFFICULTY: 3/5 NUMBER OF EXP GAINED: 2300 NUMBER OF GOLD GAINED: 3200 This is pretty easy. It's a PERFECT set-up for X + up. Basically just keep on hitting Charade with link's X + up kick and he'll soon be defeated :). MISSION THREE: Dubbhe Arena Knock the enemy against the wall and utilize wall combos to defeat the enemy! DIFFICULTY: 3/5 NUMBER OF EXP GAINED: 2300 NUMBER OF GOLD GAINED: 3200 This mission isn't hard or easy, really. Basically you just want to hit them up so they have a good chance of hitting the wall. The best attack for this is Y + up ^_^. MISSION FOUR: Io's Vase Airborne time is increased due to blasts of wind from below. Defeat the enemy using air combos! DIFFICULTY: 3/5 NUMBER OF EXP GAINED: 2300 NUMBER OF GOLD GAINED: 3200 *yawn* these missions are practically all alike in this Chapter. Use X + up to launch them up in the air and deliver a good slash while they're in mid-air. Two of those combo's will defeat the enemy! MISSION FIVE: Grand Shrine of Merak The enemies recover their health over time. Defeat all the enemies under this condition. DIFFICULTY: 4/5 NUMBER OF EXP GAINED: 2300 NUMBER OF GOLD GAINED: 3200 Use your best combo's to defeat the enemy. If you want easy winsm just throw them off the side. MISSION ONE: Corridor of the Sky Only the enemies' weapons are visible. Defeat all the enemies under this condition! DIFFICULTY: 3/5 NUMBER OF EXP GAINED: 2300 NUMBER OF GOLD GAINED: 3600 Pretty easy mission. Basically just use normal Y for attacking, because it is quick, and deals a lot of damage. MISSION TWO: Ancient Amphitheater There is a bomb on your body. Falling down means certain death. Defeat all the enemies under this condition! A bonus is availible during the matches! DIFFICULTY: 3/5 NUMBER OF EXP GAINED: 2400 NUMBER OF GOLD GAINED: The Bonus Amount This is actually pretty easy. Just keep on using Normal Y for all the opponents and you'll win AND rack up 30,000+ gold. MISSION THREE: Reclusive Palace Only one part of the enemy can be seen, and the enemy has excellent speed. Defeat the enemy under these conditions! DIFFICULTY: 3/5 NUMBER OF EXP GAINED: 2400 NUMBER OF GOLD GAINED: 8800 This battle is basically, comical. You are fighting Charade's legs, and it is HILARIOUS. If you can stop laughing for about 20 seconds and land some good Vertical Attacks then you have an easy win. MISSION FOUR: Northern Algol Defeat all the enemies! DIFFICULTY: 3/5 NUMBER OF EXP GAINED: 2400 NUMBER OF GOLD GAINED: 3600 Easy, just throw both of them off the side and the victory is yours :). ============================================================================ Chapter 10 ============================================================================ MISSION ONE: Midnight Coliseum Your health is low, and does not recover. Defeat all the enemies under this condition! DIFFICULTY: 4/5 NUMBER OF EXP GAINED: 2400 NUMBER OF GOLD GAINED: 9600 This is actually quite easy. Simply just use throws over and over. MISSION TWO: Court of the Dead Navigate through the enemy-infested dungeon and defeat the boss! DIFFICULTY: 4/5 NUMBER OF EXP GAINED: 6800 NUMBER OF GOLD GAINED: 6000 Fight your way through all of the rooms until you reach the boss. You should Make sure to go down where you can go down or right. You'll have to fight through at lease nine rooms before you reach the boss. She has a VERY high attack, defeat her with a quick throw off the side. MISSION THREE: Tartarous Unleash all of your powers and vanquish the enemy! DIFFICULTY: 4/5 NUMBER OF EXP GAINED: Who care's? YOU BEAT WMM!!!!! NUMBER OF GOLD GAINED:Who care's? YOU BEAT WMM!!!!! Last mission! Kill him with all your abilities or something, I dunno, what did you want me to say? Switch your character? *dies* (Kill him with grabs) ============================================================================= .:*:. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= .:*:. Link's Arcade Mode ':*:' =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= ':*:' ============================================================================= This guide will give you some tips on how to defeat the enemies of Link's arcade mode. Since it is random, I cannot tell you exactly what enemies you meet and when, but I'll tell you how to defeat each character separately. IVY Her whip is the only dangerous thing about her. You don't need to worry about anything else. Just don't let her get out of control with it because you will have a hard time recovering from it. Her throws can do quite a bit of damage also, so unless you have a powerful weapon, use long distance weapons, like the fairy bow and the boomerang. TAKI Taki doesn't attack that much, but her little sword does a good amount of damage. She isn't that big of a threat, so run in and chop her up with your sword and block whenever you see her about to make a move. Also, since she doesn't attack much, she is a good character to score a ring out on. YNGSUNG Yungsung likes to do combos, so don't hesitate between attacking him. He doesn't have any super-long range moves, so don't worry about getting up close to him. Although the bow is still quite an effective weapon on him. Also, try to charge up you sword before you fight him, since he doesn't like to jump in and attack you. CERVANTES Cervantes is quite a powerful character, and his two swords to a bunch of damage. Although the weapons he uses aren't long range, you should still use the bow and boomerang and the occasional bomb to fight him since those swords hurt A LOT. Unless you feel very confident, never rush in and throw him or do a long chain of attacks. If you are close to him, keep your guard up. XIANGHUA Xianghua doesn't do much, but she is a fast character that does some good damage when she attacks. She pretty much follows you wherever you go, even to the edge, so lead her there and throw her off. If she tries to attack you, counter with a horizontal slash or maybe even a good throw. ASTAROTH Astaroth is a very powerful character, and his axe does a super amount of damage, so stay far away and attack with your bow. Once he attacks you, he gets into a sort of rhythm, by which I mean overhead attack, sweep, stab, etc. It is hard to back out of, so never get in close. MITSURUGI Mitsurugi isn't one of those 'attack with about a bazillion moves at a time' person, so you can move in close and hit without worrying. He is a character where it is easy to grab and throw; you won't get any resistance usually. TALIM Talim is fast and powerful. Still, she hesitates a lot and follows you around, so lead her to the edge of the stage and use an arm twist to throw her off. NECRID Necrid is a pretty good guy. His battle ax has a VERY long range and he can do lots of different things with it. ThatÕs basically all heÕll use when he battles you. His physical attacks (kicks and punches) are okay, but they arenÕt anything major. One thing that you can use toward you advantage is the fact that once you get Necrid on the ground, itÕs hard for him to get back up if you keep slashing at him. Throwing is somewhat effective, due to the fact that he just stands around sometime, but you should really just focus on using your sword to do combos to defeat him. CASSANDRA CassandraÕs sword is of very short range, but it can be powerful. Still, you should get in close to her and use your sword to attack her. She is pretty quick, so you can try to throw her but you wonÕt get many chances. KILIK KilikÕs spear has some nice range to it, and he almost never hesitates between moves. Due to that, it can be quite difficult to get in close to strike. Therefore, I suggest you use long range attacks. If you get him to fall down at any point, instantly jump in and start attacking him. ItÕs a rare opportunity that you shouldnÕt miss. DonÕt try to throw him; he is very fast and youÕll unlikely grab him. MAXI Maxi is very coordinated. He has two weapons, and they are at medium range. However, he seems to never get tired. If you try to run in and attack him, donÕt hesitate once; he never pauses between his moves and always does some kind of move the moment he gets up after he falls, or the moment the battle starts. However, he has a weakness; whenever you strike him, heÕll be dazed for a split second. This is your chance to get in and attack him. YOSHIMITSU Yoshimitsu is one of those really weird guys. His sword is of medium range, but heÕll always do some type of attack or another. He can be annoying with his long combos but if you strike him, heÕll hesitate. If youÕre near the edge, grab him and throw him. Otherwise, just do rapid combos with your sword. If he proves to be too powerful for you (and for some people he is), just use your bow and boomerang, although thatÕs a much slower process. CHARADE Okay, I hate this guy. He uses a strange variety of moves, he looks weird and he does too many fancy things. Oh yeah, heÕs ULTRA fast and there are very brief times when he hesitates. ThatÕs the only good thing. You should do a quick jab at him, and then start doing all of these different combos. When you do a jab, it knocks his ÒheadÓ back a tiny bit, causing him to stop whatever heÕs doing. Another good thing I like is that if you manage to throw him, thatÕll make him hesitate for about a second, so you can jump in and do all of this painful crap to shut him up. SOPHITIA Eh, Sophitia has one VERY nice costume in her invitory :) Anyway, he short sword is of... well, short range but it has some pretty powerful moves. She is slow to attack though, which is one nice thing about her. That means you can leap in and strike her quickly. The only bad thing is that when she has you up against a wall, sheÕll attack like mad. VOLDO Voldo is a very... er... strange dude. Whenever heÕs standing still he moves really weird. And he has weird costumes. And is the most flexible dude youÕll ever see in your life. Much like Wolverine, he has claws that he can slash you with. Augh. He is pretty fast too. I suggest hitting him from afar, then jumping in and start slashing. Retreat and repeat. SEUNG MINA Seung Mina has a very long spear, but her attacks are slow. Due to the fact that she has slow attacks, you can jump in and slash her easily. I also suggest leading her to the edge, and tossing her off. NIGHTMARE Nightmare holds the Soul Edge, a very powerful weapon. He also has good defense on him. He can be hard to defeat, but if you're quick and get in a couple of good throws you can weaken him easily. Go for a ring out also, if you're near the edge. Never hesitate between attacks because he can take advantage of that and easily K.O. you. RAPHAEL Raphael is your destined battle, and you'll always fight him in arcade mode. He can be challenging at some points, but he isn't one of those characters that likes to have you running away at all times. You'll notice he likes to use his sword in different combinations. He throws rarely, but watch out when he does. Just do a bunch of down+Y attacks on him and he'll fall easily. INFERNO Inferno is actually pretty easy. ============================================================================= .:*:. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= .:*:. Link's Weapons ':*:' =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= ':*:' ============================================================================= Here I will describe the weapons of Link and what they do. MASTER SWORD Link's most familiar and well-balanced weapon The Master Sword is a decent blade, with both nice offense and defense. It has some good range also. You start with this weapon, and it is a good one to train with. RAZOR SWORD Good offense offset by a short reach and penetrable guard. The razor sword has better offense than the Master, but it isn't that good of a long range weapon. It also doesn't have that good of a guard. Stay away from this one. ARMOS SERIES Offense increases with SC but lacks defense. There isn't really anything else to say about it. Nice offense, bad defense. I'd pick this up, but only use it when all else fails. MEGATON HAMMER Good offense, strong single attacks, but a short reach. The offense _is_ really good here and all of its attacks are nice. Due to the fact that it has a short reach, you may want to leave it alone, since fighting those tough enemies will be hard, since it is difficult for you to get in close. CANE OF BYRNA Recovers health and increases defense with SC I like this weapon. It does recover health, but not that much, but it has good defense. When you buy this, equip it A.S.A.P. MIRROR SHIELD Reflects attack, but may cause Link to lose his balance. The fact that it reflects attack is good, but it can put you in a bad situation if you lose your balance. Don't use this if you are going to fight a character that does some really good combos. MAGIC SWORD Good at prenetrating defenses, but weak against impact. This is an okay weapon. The fact that it penetrates defense is nice, but then again, they fact that it is weak against impact can make battles with it long. Avoid this sword. BIGGORON'S SWORD Long reach and has good offense but requires energy to wield. This is a really good weapon. The offense is excellent and it does have a long reach. The fact that it needs your energy is a bit annoying, but it is worth it. SOUL EDGE Fearsome demonic weapon said to excel in offense and defense This is one of my favorite weapon's even though it drains life. It's power is so great that it doesn't really matter. Use it when you're fighting like Inferno or single battles, but not in several battles in a row. GREAT FAIRY'S SWORD The ultimate sword! Wield it to discover its true power! This is probably my favorite sword. It's far reach, pretty high strength and special ability make it a very valuable weapon. Using it with Vertical Slashes can do some serious damage. (NOTE: The special ability is life recovery) BUG CATCHING NET Dunn dun dunnnn the Bug Catcher Net. This weapon is Link's Joke Weapon. It is very weak and his no real advantage anywhere. It's only good use is to maybe lower your opponent's guard if they are human because of the comedy of using a bugnet for a weapon :). ============================================================================= .:*:. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= .:*:. Reader's Tips ':*:' =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= ':*:' ============================================================================= Here I list tips submitted from people who e-mail me. If you have some tips for using Link, then e-mail me and I'll post them here! SolAlwyn: In WMM always use Links A+G throw to defeat your opponents, if you have the option. This is a simple way of dealing with almost any situation. If you are encased in walls use his -> -> A. This slams them back. -> -> B is used when there are bombs on the floor. ============================================================================= .:*:. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= .:*:.
