Pikmin 2 (North America Version) Nintendo Gamecube Item/Treasure List By Xabidar (xabidar@yahoo.com) Version 0.8 - September 16, 2004 ------------------------------------------------------------ ++++ Table of Contents +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ ------------------------------------------------------------ I - Introduction II - Cave Locations III - Series Explanation IV - The List of Items V - F.A.Q.s VI - Version History VII - Contact Information VIII - Acknowledgements IX - Copyright Stuff ============================================================ **** I - Introduction ************************************** ============================================================ Hello, whoever is reading this! Nintendo has continued it's legacy of great games with Pikmin 2 for the Gamecube. The first game is one of the most fun and original titles I have ever played, and this sequel improves the series in every way. I compiled this list of Items/Treasure from the game because I could not find a list of their names in English. This FAQ obviously contains a few spoilers, but I tried to leave as many as I possibly could out. If you want to find out the names of the Treasures for yourself, then DON'T READ THIS GUIDE! I hope this helps someone out there! ============================================================ *** II - Cave Locations ************************************ ============================================================ In Pikmin 2, there are four major areas (representing Winter, Spring, Summer, and Autumn) that you can collect Treasure. There are also three or four caves in each area that also contain Treasure to acquire (The majority of the Treasures are in Caves). Below is a list of all the areas and caves in the game, and how many pieces are in each one. I have also included what kind of obstacles you will encounter in the caves (i.e., Fire[F], Water[W], Electricity[E], and/or Poison[P]). Area 1 - Valley of Repose (Winter) - Above Grounds (7) - Emergence Cave (3) -/-/-/- - Frontier Cavern (15) F/W/E/P - Subterranean Complex (16) F/-/E/P Area 2 - Awakening Wood (Spring) - Above Grounds (7) - Hole of Beasts (6) F/-/-/- - Bulbax Kingdom (10) F/-/E/- - White Flower Garden (7) F/-/-/P - Snagret Hole (15) -/W/E/P Area 3 - Perplexing Pool (Summer) - Above Grounds (7) - Citadel of Spiders (11) F/-/E/- - Shower Room (14) F/W/E/P - Glutton's Kitchen (14) -/-/E/- - Submerged Castle (13) F/W/E/P Area 4 - Wistful Wild (Autumn) - Above Grounds (5) - Cavern of Chaos (17) F/W/E/P - Dream Den (21) F/W/E/P - Hole of Heroes (13) F/W/E/P ============================================================ ** III - Series Explanation ******************************** ============================================================ Every Treasure in the game belongs to a "series". A series is a small group of Treasures that have some sort of connection to each other (i.e., the "Mystical Energy" series are the different Duracell batteries). Unfortunately, there is no way to determine a series' name until you complete it. There is also no way to tell what a Treasure's number is, until you collect 10,000 Pokos. After 10,000 Pokos you can view the numbers of the Treasures you have collected, and every Treasure you have not yet collected will have a placeholder number for it in the Treasure menu. When you collect an entire series, you unlock The Ship's "Sale's Pitch" for the items in that series. You can view a Treasure's Sale's Pitch by placing he cursor over the item in the menu and pushing Y. Below is a list of every series: 1 - 7 : Succulent 8 - 16 : Nature's Candy 17 - 22 : Xenoflora 23 - 27 : ? 28 - 42 : Sweet Tooth 43 - 51 : Paleontology 52 - 57 : Ancient Secrets 58 - 63 : Cook's Arsenal 64 - 71 : Tortured Artist 72 - 79 : Modern Amenities 80 - 86 : ? 87 - 94 : ? 95 - 103 : ? 104 - 109 : Husband's Tears 110 - 120 : Space Love 121 - 126 : Crystallized Emotion 127 - 146 : Dream 147 - 156 : Blast from the Past 157 - 160 : Mystical Energy 161 - 166 : Massive Receptacle 167 - 168 : ? 169 - 176 : Ancient Ad 177 - 183 : Odd Logo 184 - 196 : ? 197 - 201 : Titan Dweevil ============================================================ *** IV - The List of Items ********************************* ============================================================ For every Treasure I have listed their Number on the in-game list, the Name it has in the game, how many "Pokos" it is worth, how much it Weighs, and Where it is found. I also included a Real-World name that I made up for every Item/Treasure (if you think you have a better, or more appropriate name, please let me know at xabidar@yahoo.com!). AG stands for "Above Grounds". An L, followed by a number, is what Sublevel of a cave the Treasure is found on. In other words, L1 means it is on Sublevel One, and L2 means it is on Sublevel 2, etc.. # |Game Name |Poko|Wgt.|Location |Real-World Name ---+-------------------------+----+----+------------------------+--------------- 1|Cupid's Grenade | 20| 3|- |Cherry 2|Sunseed Berry | 170| 5|Awakening Wood, AG |Strawberry 3|Combustion Berry | 190| 12|- |Big Strawberry 4|Seed of Greed | 70| 10|Wistful Wild, AG |Chestnut 5|Disguised Delicacy | 40| 15|Dream Den, L1 |Kiwi Half 6|Insect Condo | 40| 15|Dream Den, L5 |Red Apple 7|Citrus Lump | 180| 15|Emergence Cave, L1 |Orange 8|Spiny Alien Treat | 50| 4|- |Artichoke 9|Anxious Sprout | 50| 15|- |Flower Bud? 10|Child of the Earth | 40| 15|Cavern of Chaos |Potato 11|Love Nugget | 40| 20|- |Tomato 12|Infernal Vegetable | 40| 15|Cavern of Chaos |JalapeƱo 13|Anti-Hiccup Fungus | 30| 5|Wistful Wild, AG |Mushroom 14|Toxic Toadstool | 30| 5|White Flower Garden, L4 |Toadstool 15|Growshroom | 50| 5|Cavern of Chaos |Mushroom 16|Onion Replica | 30| 20|- |Onion 17|Science Project | 20| 1|- |4-Leaf Clover 18|Pilgrim Bulb | 55| 10|- |Plant Bulb 19|Arboreal Frippery | 10| 1|- |Canadian Leaf? 20|Conifer Spire | 15| 7|Wistful Wild, AG |Pinecone 21|Armored Nut | 60| 4|Wistful Wild, AG |Small Acorn 22|Corpulent Nut | 80| 8|Hole of Heroes, L1 |Large Acorn 23|Meat of Champions | 35| 10|- |Slice of Ham 24|Hideous Victual | 100| 10|- |Fried Egg 25|Meat Satchel | 40| 5|- |Hotdog! On the Treasure menu, why are some of the Treasure icons blue, and some of them green? A. It is to separate the Treasures by series. For example, Treasures 1 through 7 is the Succulent Series and are green on the menu, and Treasures 8 through 16 is the Nature's Candy Series and are blue on the menu. Q. Help! I can't find (insert item here)! A. After collecting 10,000 pokos, the game will show you how many Treasures you have collected in each area, and how many are still left on the Area Selection map. If you are still having trouble, or are looking for a specific item, I will be updating all the Treasure locations within the week. Q. I just collected a Treasure in a different place then where your guide says it is! A. Then email me at xabidar@yahoo.com and let me know. Q. Can I (insert whatever) to your guide? A. You can print out the guide, or copy it to your own computer for personal use. If you would like to put it on your own web site, then please ask me via email. Please do not post this guide on some other site, or for commercial purposes. ============================================================ *** VI - Version History *********************************** ============================================================ 0.8 (Sep 18, 2004) - Guide was rejected, resubmitting. 0.8 (Sep 16, 2004) - Added a few item Locations. 0.8 (Sep 15, 2004) - Made a few spelling corrections, and added a few names.
