The game is heavily movement-based, with long, lengthy levels packed full of enemies, many of them unslayable. Most of the gameplay comes from of course navigating tricky jumps around unbeatable enemies and obstacles that can wound Ren and Stimpy. Gameplay is divided up into four levels, each with a decreasing number of stages. For the first several stages of each level, all you need to worry about is managing your health and making sure not to fall down any gaps into chasms. On the last stage of each level, however, you must get to the end within an allotted time limit. If you run out of time, or die in the stage, you are sent all the way back to the beginning of the very first stage of that level. This can be especially a nuisiance in the first couple of levels, while the last two levels have a smaller number of stages prior to the last stage. While travelling around, Ren and Stimpy both can grab slices of Powdered Toast out of the air, which restore one bar of health per slice (up to a maximum of 4, though if you take 4 hits, your bar will be empty but you can still take one more attack before dying), and Cans of Powdered Toast. Also, rather unfortunately, there is no password or save function to Space Cadet Adventures. This is not particularly a problem, except that you cannot play the four levels separately: to get to level two, you have to beat level one first, and similarly for playing level three and level four. The Muddy Mudskipper Show ------------------------- If you grab three Cans of Powdered Toast, and stand in front of a TV, you can play The Muddy Mudskipper Show. This is basically a heads-or-tails coin -flip game. If you guess two out of three correct, you get temporary invulnerability for the next little bit in this stage. If you get all three guesses correct, you get a longer period of invulnerability. Press A to guess heads on a flip, and B for tails. The first time you encounter a TV, Cans will have been sparse in the levels prior. Every subsequent TV will follow-up after stretches of stages that will give away Cans of Powdered Toast liberally, however. Controls -------- A - Jump Select Heads (The Muddy Mudskipper Show) B - Attack (Ren does a handchop, Stimpy spits out hairballs as a projectile) Select Tails (The Muddy Mudskipper Show) Start - Pauses/Unpauses Game Skips story sequences Select - Advance through story sequences Left/Right - Move Ren and Stimpy, control trajectory while in the air Up - Move the platform up in Stage 2-2 Down - Crouch Move the platform down in Stage 2-2 ~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~- Walkthrough -~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~ [WALK] To get to a specific level area, search [Lx-y], where x is the number of the level you want to go to in numerical format, and y is the number of the substage. ~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~- Level One - Spaceship -~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~ [LEV1] Stage 1-1 --------- [L1-1] From the first control panel, leap over the chair, then jump over the two piles of sludge in a row that are on the floor. Past there, wait at the loudspeakers that are sending out sound waves, and weave your way under each of them in turn as soon as a sound wave has passed by. At the next control panel, hop over sludge, then a chair and then some more sludge in turn. Ignore the floating thing up top - that is Ren in the background outside the ship. Hop the next control panel. The buttons going up and down here will harm Stimpy when they are in the up position (you can walk through quickly when it is in the down position, though that is obviously risky with how fast they go up and down), so jump over the first one. When you get to the second one, tap the A button lightly and do a jump over to avoid getting hit by a horizontal sound wave. This next jump takes a stupid amount of time-precise, pixel-precise jumping to avoid taking damage. Wait until the fourth, smallest C-shape of the sound wave has gone by Stimpy's head, then do a soft jump over the vaguely toasted-shaped appliance in front of you. When continuing on, you should have a lot more leeway avoiding the sound waves coming out the right side of the loudspeaker, going over a button and a toaster-shaped object. On the ground, continue on, avoiding the waves from another two soundspeakers. Coming to yet another panel, you will once more have to hop over more things while avoiding the sound waves from a soundspeaker. Over the first toaster, you do not need to worry about sound waves, but you do over the second one. Carefully time your next jump. After, hopping over a couple more objects, you hit the end of the level. Stage 1-2 --------- [L1-2] You can shoot at the toy robot patrolling at the start here, so do so. Hop over the table once the mini-lamp starts rising up. Go back onto the right side of the table, and jump up into the air to land on the wall. Use the wall to jump back left and above for a piece of toast. From the table again, hop over the wall, and then jump again over the first bathtub which is leaking water. The water spray from the tubs will damage Stimpy. Fortunately, there is a spot on the left end of the tub where you will not be hit by the water spray, so just slightly jump onto the left end of the second tub, and then do a full leap over the rest of the tub to safety. Move onto the far right end of the tub, then use it to climb onto the next wall. Use your shot to shoot out the flying cylinders floating around in the air. Drop down and use the shot to eliminate the toy robot as well. Move back to the couch and hop onto the couch and then up to the right to grab a can out of the air (this is defined in the manual as a 'Can of Powdered Toast', presumably going along with the space theme of dry food in trays and cans). Now, continue on through some more floating lamp and bathtub obstacles (there is also a piece of toast between the two bathtubs to increase your health again). Take out a flying cylinder from the following wall, then drop down and head onto a table, sneaking past a lamp. Grab another Can of Powered Toast out of the air. Head down, start walking, and pick off a toy robot with a shot. Continue along to go to the next part of the level. Stage 1-3 --------- [L1-3] Start with eliminating the eye-shaped mini-saucer. When going left, do NOT let the ring lighting up on the pillar touch you. The lights flashing up on the pillar are rather annoying - you need to not contact the one of the three rings which is flashing, and they will alternate, going from bottom to top and then wrapping around to the bottom. Start a high jump as soon as the top ring starts to flash, or walk through once the bottom one has flashed and the light passes to the middle ring. There are two small flashing stars going up and down next. Wait for the both of them to be going down before hoping over, grabbing a Can of Powdered Toast. Landing on the other side, wait for a drop of liquid to splatter against the floor before continuing. Next, you will have to manage going past another one of those flashing pillars with the spike at the bottom. Following that, dodge another liquid drop, and then jump over some more floating stars. Once you make it past that gap, shoot the eye-shaped mini-saucer that comes along, and jump for some Powdered Toast out of the air. You will then have one last pillar with flashing rings to make it over to wrap up this stage. Stage 1-4 --------- [L1-4] If you have obtained at least three Cans of Powdered Toast thus far, you can move in front of the TV and partake in a guessing game of heads-or-tails of a coin flip (called 'The Muddy Mudskipper Show'). If you guess two out of three correct, you get temporary invulnerability for the next little bit in this stage. If you get all three guesses correct, you get a longer period of invulnerability. Press A to guess heads on a flip, and B for tails. Afterwards, head right, shooting down what vaguely resembles a wooden log. Coming in front of a giant control panel, take note of the background where there are rectangular panels with four smaller rectangle shapes inside them. These are where spool-shaped objects will be constantly dropped out of. Go to the end of the panel, then hop onto the platforms with the gears inside the glass. When on here, you will constantly need to watch out for spools dropping from above: if you are right in front of the spool cabinets, then needless to make sure, wait until one has dropped out before moving past it or making a jump as they take some time to reload. There are also screwdrivers floating around, though they do so strictly horizontally (but cannot be shot down). Move left, grabbing a Can of Powdered Toast on the way, and you will have to start climbing up the left side a bit, before finally hopping across platforms to the right. Climb up the right side, then make your way to the left, getting another Powdered Toast to restore your health when high up. If you fail to make one of the last jumps, you should be able to land on a platform with a 1-Up life in the shape of Ren's head. Once you make it up onto the very top of the control panel, head right, hopping over some toy cars. At the end, leap into the hatch, and press right while going into it - if you do not go far enough, you will fall straight down and have to climb up the control panel again. Stage 1-5 --------- [L1-5] Shoot at the mini-saucer while standing behind the protection of the pillar, then make your way across the pillar (again with precise timing). Next, make your way across a gap with a single star, then underneath a liquid drop, and following that another gap, this time with two stars. On landing, take out a mini-saucer, and jump over a pillar or walk through the bottom. Immediately snipe down another eye-shaped mini-saucer on landing, and grab a Powdered Toast out of the air before continuing past the next pillar. Now, jump over the gap, grabbing another Can of Powdered Toast before moving to the next stage. Stage 1-6 --------- [L1-6] For some more pixel-perfect jumping, head right, and hop onto the left- side of the ladder - left enough that the object hovering up and down cannot contact you, but still right enough so that Stimpy does not fall right down into the abyss. You can also jump right once it floats down and then immediately hop up to the platform left of you, but only just standing on the right edge of it to dodge an arrow with a fixed trajectory. Hop right a platform, then lead left and onto the fire extinguisher. Go left once more and then up. Hop right into the small square area with a grey wall background which has solid footing, then leap left onto the very small blocks. Continue left to get a Can of Powdered Toast. Move over to the right end, and you should see a vaguely crab-like robot, a massive sphere with two pincer claws. When the pincer claw is closed, it will not cacuse you damage, but it will when it opens up. Watch and learn its timing for a bit, then jump to get underneath and past the left claw when it is closed. Similarly move right onto a set of three fire extinguishers and then up onto another platform when the right claw closes. Hop onto the top of the pincer-sphere, and you will see that there is another crab-like robot just above you. Time it so that you shall hop up to the left when its claws are closed. Repeat this again when moving around to the left claw of the third robot. Now, you cannot jump onto the third robot's head from the left side - instead, you will need to wait for its left pincer to close, then make a jump for the platform to the right. Hop up to the left to be on the underside of a fourth crab-robot, then jump up to the right when its claws close. Leap up from the fire extinguisher, and grab yourself a slice of Powdered Toast next. Jump onto the small grey blocks to your right, then onto the top of the grey door. Next, jump onto the top side of the window frame, and then move right and up onto the top of a smaller window frame right underneath a crab-robot. Get over to the left platform, then over to the right side onto some fire extinguishers once the pincers are closed. Loop left and right around to go up and around yet another pincer-enemy, and go up the left side afterwards for a slice of Powdered Toast. Next, head right and down onto solid ground. Shoot three robots on the floor as you go right, but stop once the ground stops and it turns into air. Instead of jumping right, instead, double back and start hopping up the blocks, windows and extinguishers again, where you will quickly find another crab monster. Once you get up to the third monster you will be transported outside. Stage 1-7 --------- [L1-7] In this stage, you only have 30 seconds to complete it, with a timer. If you run out of time, you get knocked all the way back to the beginning of Stage 1-1. I learned this the hard way, so if you have 4 units of health, you may want to be a bit careless with them to move through faster. Make a narrow jump to the other side of the radar, then wait for a meteorite to crash at your feet. Jump over the next space rock that comes. Continue along, shooting at a vaguely noodle-shaped like appendange coming along in the air. Continue hot-footing your way past space rocks and space noodles and radar until you get to Ren at the end. Leap at him to grab him and then get a short cutscene. ~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~- Level Two - Alien World -~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~ [LEV2] Stage 2-1 --------- [L2-1] Move forward and handchop the first monster you see floating up and down. However, you cannot do the same to the rock enemy, so hop over it instead. Go over a chasm next, followed by another rock monster. You cannot wound the eye monsters either. Wait for them to come down before jumping over two of them in turn, or otherwise quickly running underneath them when they rise up, then wait and jump over a spark of electricity when it comes at you. Take out the tentacle-like monster once you come upon it. Continue walking for a short period of time until you get to some six- eyed frog monsters. Ren can hand-chop these monsters, so do so if they get too close. At the end, hop over a long chasm. Proceeding along, clear a hop over two more eye monsters, so that you will come up to the base of a large hill. Jump onto the first step. There is a second smaller step between the two white steps, so hop up short of the second step so you can handchop the tentacle monster. Continue up the hill until the second-last step (if you take the last step the electric bolts that the tentacle monster shoots out from the top will hit you). Jump up quickly once a bolt comes out, grab a piece of Powdered Toast, then hit the tentacle monster with a quick handchop. Next, make a good running jump right off the cliff height to grab at least three of four Cans of Powdered Toast coming down, sufficient enough for a game of The Muddy Mudskipper Show at the next TV you come to. Stop shy of the tree you come to while walking along the ground, and wait for the liquid drops to splash on the ground from the first three branches. Once you make it to the tree centre, wait for the left drop to splatter on the ground before making a light jump over the drop but under the second liquid drop still hanging from the tree branch. Continue along the ground, dodging some rocks flying from the sky, until you clear another gap. Some bird monsters will come along. They do not appear to attack you, but they move up and down in a compressed sinusoidal fashion, so quickly walk underneath them when they are at the peak of their movements, or let them fly over you by crouching (yes, Ren CAN crouch). Move to the edge of the cliff as when the birds come back they will stop just short of the edge before reversing their path. Instead, in probably the worst part of this level, you will need to hop onto a log once it comes and allow it to carry you right, and repeat this several times over. During the process, a bird will be wandering back and forth. While on the logs that are merely moving up and down you amy want to try jumping over the bird when it comes along, but for the rest of it you will probably just want to take the hit if Ren's crouch is not sufficient enough to dodge. Take out the tentacle monster at the end from solid ground, then move past two eyes. Leap over a spark of electricity from another tentacle monster, and eliminate it before continuing. You will have to get past another eye monster, then one of those trees with liquid dripping from it (the right side this time is a lot more easy to get past, as the drips fall drom both branches at roughly the same time), and then another set of birds. Following that, you will have to contend with hopping over another rock monster, taking out a six-eyed frog, then dashing past three more eye monsters. This next bit is tricky in scaling a second cliff. Do NOT try to fight the rock monster. Instead, just hop onto the step in the cliff face just shy of the rock enemy, then do a jump, first going up, then pressing right to go above the rock enemy. From there, it is fairly smooth climbing to the top. Just shy of the top, stop, and hop only a very little bit onto the edge of the top to avoid taking damage from contact with the alien slug. Hop over it instead, and run right and jump into the air to grab two slices of Powdered Toast and two Cans of Powdered Toast. Once you get them, brake immediately to fall straight down instead of continuing right (where an abyss awaits). On landing, take out a six-eyed frog foe, then hop over the chasm. Move past a rock monster, then climb up the short cliff. Leap to the left for a slice of Powdered Toast, then continue your journey onwards right. Move underneath and past another tree with both sides of branches dropping their set of liquid droplets close together, and hop over yet another break in the ground. You will come to a TV set. Press up in front of it you desire to play The Muddy Mudskipper Show, which _YOU SHOULD_, given the stage that is about to come up ahead. Once done, head right, chopping a slug or jumping over it (if you chop it, it will fly towards you, still causing damage if you do not have temporary invulnerability). Continue right and jump into the air for a Can of Powdered Toast. Now, stand over top of the hole in the ground, and jump up and back down onto the hole. This make take a bit of shuffling around to find a 'sweet spot', but you should eventually be able to enter the next part of the level. Stage 2-2 --------- [L2-2] Regardless of whether or not you have temporary invulnerability or not, drop off the platform you are not, and fall down the cavern shaft until you hit the ground (you may try for the Can of Powdered Toast off to the one side on your way down, however). If you did not get temporary invulnerability, you will have to be careful when going through with the slime monsters and shiny wisps, as they cannot be damaged, but if you did get temporary invulnerability, you can just rush through. Continue right and dropping down every time you get to a floor gap until you come to a floor with one of the slugs on them, and very narrow pillars across short gaps to your right. From now on, start moving carefully, as these next gaps will cost you some health if you fall down them. Dodge, duck and weave your way through the monsters until you get to the wall at the end. Hop on the platform here. Now, when you are on this platform, it acts as an elevator, but only so long as you hold the Up button. Once you remove your finger from the D-Pad, it stops moving. You can also press down to both crouch and move the elevator at the same time. Knowing this is important as when you go up, you will be bombarded by turret guns on the left wall that will shoot pellets at Ren. Dodging a single turret is not difficult, but it is avoiding the fire of the turret above you that can be difficult. One way to get around this is to go up only slightly above one turret, wait for it to fire, crouch to dodge the bullet fire, then move up and underneath the bullet fire of the next turret in line. You also seem to have an easier time of dodging shots if you stand on the left side of the elevator platform instead of the right. Once you rise high enough in the shaft, you will skip to the next stage. Stage 2-3 --------- [L2-3] Like Stage 1-7, this stage has a timer. Also like Stage 1-7, if the timer runs out, you are knocked all the way back to the start of Stage 2-1. To add insult to injury, if you fall into the deep chasm in what is seven or eight moving and hovering logs that you have to move across, you are still kicked back to Stage 2-1. So in other words, do not miss your jump! Start on the first one, and take a jump on the next one when it comes by the second time. Do not make any risky jumps here, as you are more likely to fall into the abyss than run out of time. Once you make it to the end, if you have at least two pieces of Powdered Toast on your health bar, just run through the four meteors flopping up and down (the first hit gives you temporary invincibility to get through at least one more meteor, and you still have an extra hit even after you have no Powdered Toast on your bar left). Hop onto the ladder at the time to move into the spaceship. ~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~- Level Three - S.S. Flush -~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~ [LEV3] Stage 3-1 --------- [L3-1] Fall off very slightly to the right of where you enter the stage from, and retrieve a slice of Powdered Toast and a Can of Powdered Toast on your way down. On the bottom floor, take out a robot moving around, then hop up onto the TV and press the Up button in front of it to activate a game of The Muddy Mudskipper Show. After playing a game, move right into a bathroom area. Walk past falling bathroom appliances and drops of liquid, taking out a patrolling robot. Hop over the gaps in the floor onto the blocks, as falling down will take away a chunk of health here. Move through some more falling objects and water droplets, and grab a Can of Powdered Toast out of the air. Right after you move on from the Can of Powdered Toast, anticipate an object rolling in from the right side, specifically a roll of toilet paper. From where the toilet paper rolls through, hop up the nearby platforms into an enclosed chamber with a rogue toilet enemy flying around, but also a slice of Powdered Toast and two Cans of Powdered Toast hanging in the air. Once you retrieve the items, fall down to the bottom and head right again, and jump over another series of small gaps, dodging more falling obstacles from above. Once you get to the end, you can hop up the platforms for a slice of Powdered Toast. Otherwise, start dropping down the shaft, possibly getting yourself a Can of Powdered Toast on the way, until you hit the bottom. Take out the robot, then continue right again. Proceed right through another bathroom area, avoiding two drops of water and a roll of toilet paper coming along. Continue moving right through more small hops, avoiding several leaking pipes dripping water down below, along with the occasional falling object from above. Once you get to the point where you have another robot that you can shoot down, you can hop up the platforms to another enclosed chamber with a wandering toilet enemy and a slice and Can of Powdered Toast. Fall back down out of there, and use the platforms to go up and to the right - beware, as an enemy will come out of hiding from behind a cloth towel and shoot a plunger at you here, followed up by another rolling robot. After eliminating the robot, move right and drop straight down to below. Hop over some more blocks while avoiding yet another torrent of leaking water droplets from above. Once you eliminate still another robot, hop up the platforms to get into a chamber with another toilet and two Cans of Powdered Toast. Fall back out of the chamber and then head right. Destroy the robot at the bottom, then start climbing up left and right, using the platforms to scale the shaft, while avoiding getting touched and damaged by the one platform moving up and down with a plunger attached to it. When you get to the top of the shaft, grab a slice of Powdered Toast near the ceiling before heading right. Going through this corridor, you will have to avoid rolling toilet paper while trying to get past the first two water droplets. Before going past the next set of water droplets, fire off a shot to take care of the robot patrolling along once you get past the droplets. The enclosed chamber up here, along with the regular floating toilet, has a slice and Can of Powdered Toast. After you are done with grabbing the items there, head right, where you will probably end up getting hit by a thrown plunger from a towel enemy again. Move along past the foe, and get past some more falling blocks. Drop down to the ground and take out another last robot to the stage. Start scaling up, and avoiding the path of the plunger platform. Where the plunger platform's path stops, another plunger platform from above almost perfectly overlaps with it, so be aware of that one as well. Once you finish hitting the top height of the platform, then you will move into the next area of the S.S. Flush. Stage 3-2 --------- [L3-2] Yet again, this level is on a timer, and yet again, if you die or the timer runs out, you are booted back to the start of Stage 3-1. Hop over the odd piston-like things in the ground, and shoot at the crab enemy floating around in the air (it is vulnerable to damage). Continue along jumping over the pistons and shooting the crab enemies. This is a fairly straightforward level, so repeat this until you get to Ren at the end and can free him from the tree. ~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~- Level Four - Asteroid City Trailer Park -~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~ [LEV4] Stage 3-1 --------- [L3-1] Start the stage off by moving along and staying to the ground floor. You will eventually get to a long abyss - hop up and use the windows in the background of the building to make your way over to a platform with a TV stand on it. Press Up in front of it to activate the Muddy Mudskipper Show. Following a playthrough of the heads-or-tails game, head right. If you did not get temporary invulnerability, prepare to dodge enemies moving left and right and gunmen popping out from behind 8-shaped obstacles in the background. Once you get to the next railer, hop up onto the trailer, and then move up to the lampost above the trailer (the electric force field does not cause damage, only shorts moving back and forth on these force fields do). Move right over the bolts and floating shorts across some more lampposts, and start moving past the buildings, using the windows as footholds. Come down once you get past the second building, grabbing a Can of Powdered Toast on the way if you can spot it. Cross the ground floor, making occasional hops, until you get to another trailer. Jump up and take out the resident of the trailer standing on top of it, then hop onto the lamppost to the right. From here on out, continue moving east, slugging your way through a number of lampposts, building windows and doors, and so on until finally you hit the end of the stage after an arduous journey. Stage 4-2 --------- [L4-2] In this level, also with a timer, you need to move up multiple platforms. Some of these platforms are fake platforms and will fall down, and damage Ren if they land on top of his head. Start at the center mark, then go up to the left side for a bit, before moving over to the right end. After a bit of climbing up the right side, you will want to move over to the left end (while it is possible to stay on the right side, this requires a couple of extremely pixel-precise jumps to do so), then move to the right side again after a short while. Once you finally hit the rooftop, quickly run over to the left end to where Stimpy is to end the stage and end the game. ~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~- Donations/Amazon -~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~ [DONT] I don't really care too much about donations, but if you are feeling generous, feel free to send one via PayPal to gammabetaalphafaqs AT gmail DOT com Alternatively, if you ever order any items from Amazon.com, go to the link below.
