Search for (letter)-(area)-(puzzle number) for a specific puzzle you're stuck on. They're in alphabetical order. You can bring up search in IE with CTRL-F. 6. VERSIONS 7. CREDITS ================================ 1. INTRO AND RULES Puzznic's premise is pretty simple. You have a bunch of blocks on a grid. If they're not supported below, they fall downward. You can move them left or right to make them fall. If two or more are connected, then they vanish. Your object is to get every one to vanish. This is pretty static, and there's no time limit, but you can get bonus points which don't matter unless you give up the game you're working on. The only thing that's really in motion is a platform that can go up/down or left/right. You can put a block on there or even under it to limit its range. Block falling and getting behind the block will stay on it and then slide off; you have to drop it ahead. Many levels repeat a theme, and others are far too simple for how late they are in the game, but Puzznic affords some pretty interesting challenges you might not even remember the second time through. This FAQ has some spoilers so beware. Puzznic has 36 sets of eight puzzles each. After you solve one set, you have a choice of two more you can solve. There are eight levels and the branches make up a triangular part of a grid in the end, a bit like Puzzle Bobble. Each successive level has one more subset of puzzles, but it doesn't always get more difficult. The challenge is often wildly random. The game doesn't discount you when you can no longer win--that would be too big of a hint and might take too long anyway. But it does zap you when you only have one of a certain square left or no legal moves. There are some obvious goofy flaws with this game, but he basic idea is good, and some of the puzzles hidden inside are thought provoking. Still...the presentation...yeech. They should have had a best-time table instead of the useless high score list. That might encourage replay for optimizing solutions. 2. CONTROLS X = pick up a piece triangle = put it down [note: if a piece falls, you'll automatically release it. However, you can grab it in mid-air.] left/right= move piece left/right. One important thing about moving a piece left/right if it is on an up/down moving platform is that, if it's about to touch something of the same color, you can move it away, i.e. P XPX ^ The purple block above can reach the right side--just hold the controls down, and don't do it before the purple block is about halfway wedged between the two solid blocks. The game may dump the purple off to the side anyway. If there is a chain reaction(i.e. pieces connected and others fall) there's not enough time for you to do something else normal in between. However, if one piece is dropping, you can drop another one in the meantime. The exception is as follows: WG GW XXG G <- -> is available to get the triad here. When dropping a block above a moving platform(L/R) you should account that falling speed is constant and about 33% more than the back/forth speed. When in doubt, aim ahead. When dropping a block on a moving platform(L/R,) you can generally drop it in the opposite direction with ease. You can also drop the block in the direction of motion, but it's useful to tap the arrow key that way several times. Platforms give you some margin of error at times when they bang into a wall and stay there a bit. One important note for convenience--there's a grid of blocks as the boundary, and if you try to go outside them, the game won't let you. This is annoying when there is a bite out of a side, but it shouldn't kill your game. You'll also want to watch dumping one block on top of another too quickly. Sometimes you can get a match in midair that way. Choosing free play is annoying. Because if you switch between letters, it always goes to #1, i.e. F-4 left goes to E-1, right goes to G-1. Also you get only three tries before you go back to the main menu, and what's worse, the game carries over lives lost after you win and want to try another puzzle. Some freedom! Nice design, guys! 3. SCORES, LEVELS AND STUFF On level #X where X is the number of the current letter of the alphabet, the points you get for solving a level are 60*(X+3) + bonus(=60*(X+3) - time spent in seconds) You get three lives per try in story mode before you can continue with your score reset, but you can't get on the high score list unless you give up. You can't access the high score list unless you quit in the middle of story mode. Also 'free play' forces you to restart after losing three people--this is sometimes calculated cumulatively as you go through levels. Annoying and not so free. You also don't get the end of level skits if you win a level you've already solved on the memory card, which you have to reload EACH STUPID TIME return to free play mode. Fortunately with the game always asking you to load from the memory card, you can pick and choose if you want to see the (not as funny as you'd hope) dialogue in story mode. 4. GENERAL STRATEGIES 4-1. JUST WINNING Pairing any two squares together is usually not too bad. If you have only pairs left, it's pretty easy usually(unless one block is in a hard to reach place you need to account for,) so try to plan to wipe out blocks with an odd number left ASAP. And avoid silly stuff like this: P G GP Pushing the purple right here loses. Putting three squares together is the toughest thing to do in this game. There are two good ways to do this. The most common is just below: B -> B XXXXBX XXX A small puzzle here as an offshoot. Which B do you push in the gap? B B B XXX X XXX The left of the B's will work out as above. R v R R Drop a red between two others here. Often you'll have to shuffle blocks under a platform to get this. Often you'll have a gap separating a triad, i.e. G G X GRX XXX In this case, find something to drop so that the G can walk across. Platforms that move are also useful for creating triads. You don't have to create a walkway for a special one to go across. Another important way to get a triad is as follows: R G R XR Push the top red over. What sort of triad you get depends on how things are set up. If two blocks are kitty corner, drop something on them. If space is tight, use the last example. If two are on the bottom row, drop a third between them. Often you'll need another color of blocks to help set you up. You can often use an up/down platform to rearrange blocks on a platform i.e. XXXXXX PB XXBXPX ^XXXXXX Here pushing blue right doesn't work(leaves a gap for purple,) but push blue and purple onto the platform. Then as it hits the top push purple right. Then push blue right. Other strategies include pushing a block below an up/down platform or building a bridge of blocks to bring one over. There are enough levels that show the simple tactics that you should be able to figure out more from them. Platforms moving up/down provide an interesting tactic for shuffling the pieces on them. This is subject to space restrictions, but the basic trick is this: BP ^XX B onto the platform, P one square left, B onto P, P onto the platform, B right twice. You can also shift around blocks of the same color on the platform, but they can touch each other as they move, so be careful. Also be aware that moving blocks as they're about to touch on a platform is OK, i.e. B XBX ^ Push left on the rising block and you'll be safe. 4-2. TIMING Trying to save a few seconds here or there gives this game some replay value. The 'big one' is doing other tasks while an item is on a long platform up/down, or if you have to move a bunch of blocks close to each other, don't go for the match, lump the near ones into their right places early on. You can also catch a break with the platform--if you can get a block half-on or half-off the platform, the game will let you. (more detail later if I'm bothered) 5. THE FULL PYRAMID 5-1. LEGEND R = red square(sun) F = flame square(orange) W = white square(star) P = purple square(planet) G = green square(tree) B = blue square(circle) K = yellow square(key) C = yellow square(moon) <>= horizontally moving platform ^v= vertically moving platform X = border 5-2. MOVE ANNOTATION B(left) -> (push as far as it will go, or until it falls) B(left) -> 2 (push it twice) B(left) -> 2 sq (push the block 2 squares right) B(left) <- push the left blue to the left. B(left) <- -> <- describes a sequence of 3 pushes. B ----> = push it as far as it'll go B -> B -> = move two different B's right. BG -> 1 square = move B and G, which are adjacent, right one square As the walkthrough goes on I will be giving less detail on obvious moves such as linking two same colored blocks almost next to each other anyway or not linking a pair when you only have a triad left. I'll also note triads. 5-3. THE PYRAMID For full posterity the pyramid looks as follows: H1 / G1 / \ F1 H2 / \ / E1 G2 / \ / \ D1 F2 H3 / \ / \ / C1 E2 G3 / \ / \ / \ B1 D2 F3 H4 / \ / \ / \ / A1 C2 E3 G4 \ / \ / \ / \ B2 D3 F4 H5 \ / \ / \ / C3 E4 G5 \ / \ / \ D4 F5 H6 \ / \ / E5 G6 \ / \ F6 H7 \ / G7 \ H8 Without clearing any of story mode, A through C are always open for free mode. Otherwise you have to go into story mode. Here's a list of enemies. They change color as you choose a different puzzle set, and I remarked that: A: Pumpkin B: Kat suit hair 1-yellow white 2-black green C: Skull suit cheeks 1-grey red 2-purple purple 3-black orange D: mummy hat stripe 1-brown lt blue 2-red green 3-black lt blue 4-green yellow E: Witch hair outfit 1-yellow blue 2-green black 3-lt blue blue 4-lt blue purple 5-mauve green F: Medusa hair outfit 1- orange red 2- yellow pink 3- red orange 4- green pink 5- black pink 6- yellow dk pink(green snakes, vs. beige before) G: Franken 1- 2- 3- 4- 5- 6- 7- H: Kamira outfit/ hair 2nd outfit color 1-purple red 2-green lilac 3-red lt blue 4-yellow purple 5-green red 6-pink grey 7-black red 8-purple red 5-4. Aren't I cute? Everyone thinks so! Even if you flatter me, you can't pass! It's a match! B-2: Hey, you were rude to the Pumpkin. I'll never forgive you. I'll never let you pass! Say, the next problem is sooo difficult. It's a match! C-1: Zzz Zzz Oh, I fell sleep[not quite Metal Gear, there.] Lately I feel so tired. Is it age? Zzz Ah! I shouldn't sleep now. I have a match! Zzz C-2: You've aready[sic] reached this far Have I been dead for 10 years already? A dog was digging at my grave, so I can't sleep. But it's OK if you can solve this puzzle. C-3: Aahhh, aahhh, aahhh chooo! I've caught a cold whilst I was sleeping. I miss meat... beef, chicken, lamb... I have a fever! I should finish this match fast! D-1: Oh, you've arrived already! What happened to the other people? This Lord treats his servants, no, beasts, so badly. Let's have a quick match! D-2: Oh, you're already here! My question's so difficult. If you run I won't laugh. Oh, you're not going to run? Why not? OK then, try and solve this puzzle. D-3: Ah, you're here already? I thought I'd take a bath and have a soda. I like to be very clean. OK, shall we go then? D-4: Ah, you're here already? It's nice to meet you. My name is The Mummy. Shall we go then? E-1: Ah! I'm so happy I've found a new friend. Eh? What? You're not a friend? It's OK! Relax. Eeeh? Do I have to solve this? OK, I'll do it! E-2: What! I've arrived already! Scarey[sic]. I don't like being here. The spiteful guy has arrived. Sob, sob. I want you to go, but solve this first. E-3: Hello, I'm Witch! I'm a Witch apprentice. Is my specialty magic? I can't use any magic now, but I made a hard puzzle. E-4: Ermmm... Good night. I can't let you pass, so... lets[sic] have a match! E-5: I'm finally here. I'll never let you pass me. Fail and you'll be punished. I'm scared of that. I'll never be defeated. I need cookies to survive. F-1: Finally, I've arrived. You made me wait for ages. My puzzle is super difficult, so be prepared! F-2: It's good of you to finally come here. I'm an old friend of Kamira, so I've comeso far. I'm tired of waiting. Let's have a match! F-3: Ah, you've come here. Is Medusa getting beaten up? Eh, this snake? They're Holes, Eling and Mash. The tame one is... Ah! Let's forget about that thing. Let's fight! F-4: Thanks for coming! I made this puzzle so it's much more difficult! OK then, let's do it! F-5: Oooh, I've finally arrived here. It's really rural here! I'll eat alot[sic] and get fat. You must diet because you are late! F-6: Darn it! I wasn't selected as an idol. When I stared at them they turned to stone. They'll pay for their mistake! Let's have a match. G-1: Ah, I'm glad you came. [nothing else, game skipped] G-2: It's nice that you've come here. 300 years have passed since I worked for Kamira. Just a minute! I'm wondering if I was paid! Well, anyway, let's have a match! G-3: You're in trouble now! Well, I don't know what to say. OK, it's enough! Anyway, lets[might be transcribed wrong?] have a match. G-4: Sob, Sob, I'm not fond of this dark place. I really like the field full of flowers. I also like dolls. My favorite is caled Miko. But I can't help it. I'll fight a difficult match. G-5: Oh, it's nice you've come here. I'm Franken. I've been working for Kamira since [pause] I was a child. Kamira was pretty cute when she was a child. Well now, let's have a match with a puzzle I made. G-6: Hello! My name is Franken. I will be in trouble if I let you pass here. I'm very timid. You can't pass here if you can't solve my puzzle. G-7: Mmm... You've beaten everybody! Maybe Kamira will be mad if you come this far. I'm wondering if I'll get out of here. Hmm... Hmm... Please be nice to me... H-1: Ah! You've beaten all my men. I'll never forgive you! The next puzzle is so tough. H-2: Hahaha! Oh, it's nice you've come so far. You were good, even though you were my enemy. My next puzzle is really, super, super, difficult! Solve it, if you can! H-3: Ooo, I've finally arrived. But I'll never be defeated. I want to be a vampire! Eeh, Get it! This is my most difficult puzzle. H-4: I've come so far. What are the other guys doing? They deserve less money, even though I don't pay much! Oh, as I guessed, last is Kamira! H-5: MY name is Kamira. I'm glad you've come. Until now, it's been easy. Try my super special powerful puzzle! H-6: Oh, you've already made it this far? Yes, this is my castle, hold on I'll get ready. Ok, I'm ready! Well, here are my puzzles! Ok, I've done it. H-7: Hohohoho! You've reached this far? You can't pass! I've spent a lot of money on this. I can't stand it if you easily solve this. (p's cut off here on the bottom.) H-8: I'm glad you came! I'm Kamira! The master! Grrr Ohhh, I'm sooo hungry. I'll let Franken prepare my meal after I've won! WIN: [castle explodes] Skull: Mmm...the castle has been destroyed! Skull: I can't help it. Let's sleeep for 200 years. Kamira: Where's my coffin? Skull: Ah! Kamira, what's wrong? I'll never tell my father. K: I can't believe it. Skull: Zzz... [wow, 2 people talking. Sorta like the evolution of Greek Theater...what a way to go out!] 5-A-1. The puzzles here are very basic. You shouldn't take more than ten seconds for any one--barring a wait or brain fart. A-1-1. XXXXXXXX X X X X XPB BPX XXXXXXXX Doesn't start much easier. In fact there's no real way to lose. Push one blue right and push the other purple left for best time. A-1-2. XXXXXXX XB PX XP BX X X X This is never unsolveable but it doesn't force you into the right moves. P(left) > P(right)< match B(left) > B(right)< A-1-3. XXXXX XR RX XP BX XX XX X X XB PX XXXXX Another relative gimme. Push everything into the center. It's harder to figure how to goof it up actually. R ->, R <-, P ->, B <- BTW to goof it up, R ->, P-> <-, B<-, R<- ->. A-1-4. XXX X P X X B X X P X X B X XBXXXBX XPX XPX X X Again, you can mess up if you doze, but the way to win is pretty linear. EAch block above knocks out one in the side pits. B <- P <- B -> P -> A-1-5. XXXXXX XB X XP X XXBXPX XXXXXX Finally a bit of a trick. Moving B-> first leaves a gap P can't cross, so P -> B ->. A-1-6. XXXXXXXX X RXXB X X PXXR X X BXXP X X XXXX X X X XXXXXXXX Another level where it's possible to make mistakes, but just take things one at a time. B(left) <-, B(right) ->, B(left) ->. R(left) <-, R(right) ->, R(left) ->. P(left) <-, P(right) ->, P(left) ->. A-1-7. XX XX RX X BPX X XXX XRXX XPX XBX X Here you can trap the blocks you need to reach if you aren't careful. How to bring them down in order(red, purple, blue?) B <- R <- <- P <- B <- A-1-8. XXXX XR X XB X XP XXXX XX X X XRX XXPBXXX XXXX This is a real challenge and in fact I needed to figure out how to put a piece down before I could solve this. You need to make a bridge to vanish the R's and then come back and knock off the rest. B -> P -> -> [should have BP PB now.] R -> -> B <- P <- B(left) -> Congratulations, you've beaten Pumpkin's levels! B-1-1. XXXXXXXXXX XRBP RX XXXX XX XXPXBX XXXXX The holes looks nasty, and it's tricky to navigate stuff if you try to leave everything til it's just set -so-. But here's a way to plow ahead: P-> -> R<- <-(into the hole) B-> ->(it can go over the hole) R-> -> B-1-2. XXXXXXXXX XBP RGX XXXX XXXX X X X X XBXPXRXGX XXXXXXXXX Again there's some question as to what order to drop the blocks and where. P-> B-> B<- <- P<- Mirror things for the other side. R<- G<- G-> -> R-> B-1-3. XXXXXX X B X X X X X X X X X X XB BX XXX XX XXX The first encounter with lumping three together. It's pretty straightforward, but there are plenty of ways just to get 2. B(top)-> B(left)-> is the quickest way. B-1-4. XXXX XB XX XP BX XB XXX XX PX X XX X X X X X X XX XXX XXX You will have to lump the three B's together but it seems like you can only get two with straightforward methods--pour any two B's down the shaft in order and they leave a stray. Dumping purples in between doesn't cause a reaction...immediately. B(bottom left) -> P -> B(top left) -> <- B(top) <- and now only the P prevents the threesome P(top) <- causes a winning chain reaction. B-1-5. XXXXXXXX XBG X XXX P X X X X X X BX X R XXX X GP RX XXXXXXXX Here you'll need quite a bridge for the blue to make it to the far right compartment. Otherwise it will fall uselessly and you'll be stuck. R -> 1 square P <- G(top) -> B -> ->(match) R -> -> wins with a combo B-1-6. XXXXXXXXXX XP PX XB BX XX< >XX X X X XXXX X XXXXXXXX An easy intro to the nuisances and nuances of the back and forth platform. Here it's clear what to do, but the timing is a problem. Be sure to hold a piece in advance, as although you'll have time just after the platform docks on one edge, you'll want to push onto it immediately--or a bit before. If you fail, you still have a chance--you can pick up the other block of that color and drop it from above once it's on the platform. B-1-7. XXXXX X B X XX X X X B X XX XXX X X X XX X BX X XX X^X XXX This one requires a good deal of timing for the quickest solution. Label the B's 1-3 from top to bottom. Then take B3 onto the platform up and push it left. Let B1 fall to the left. Voila. If that is too close a call, move B2 right, then move B3 left on the platform, move B2 back left and then drop B1 down the shaft. The platform will move it back up and make the horizontal threesome. B-1-8. XXXX XP XX XXXXX BX XBP XX XXX> X X X X X X XXXXX Again there's a bit of timing, but you can afford to fail with one block of each color. P(left) -> onto belt as it docks left. Drop P on top of it. If you fail, drop the other P right. Repeat for B. You've beaten one of Kat's puzzle groups, good for you. B-2-1. XXXX XB X XX XX X X XP BX XB PX XXXXX How to get the threesome of B's? Fortunately there are only so many moves possible. There are two ways: 1. P-> B-> 2. B(bottom)-> B(top)-> P-> B-2-2. XXXXXXXXX X X XBPB PBX XXXXX XXX XXX The hole allows possibilities but putting the purple in leads to a dead end. B-> P<-(match) B(right) <- 1 sq B -> to clear. B-2-3. XXXXXX XB PX XX XX XBPBX XXXXX Another straightforward 3-buncher. P <- <- B -> B-2-4. XXXXX X X X XPX X XXX X X XX XBX XP XXX XB X XX^X XXX You just need to bring each block up to the relevant shelf on the right. The iorder is irrelevant. Just don't dump them down the shaft. Hold the controller right when you're near where you need to exit. B-2-5. XXXXXX X X XX RB XX X PG X X GP X XBXXXXRX XXX XXX Here the first step is the most important one--the blue and red seem to be on the wrong side. Once those are done, you just match everything else up until you clear the way for the final long but obvious move. R <- B <- <- P <- G <- P -> R -> B-2-6. XXXXX X X X XBX X XXXXX X BX X PRX X RPX X^ XXX XXXXX The big problem here is pretty obvious, and the solution isn't too bad. You can make it to the left with the blue block, but it can't jump high enough to reach the platform. Use the other blocks and kill them. P <- R <- Now you can push B onto the platform. B <-, at the top -> R <- P <- B-2-7. XXXXXXX X X X XBXPX X XXXXX X PX X BX X^XX XXXX Order and control of the platform are what you need here. The purple should go left/right first, then the blue. B-2-8. XXXXXXX X BXP X X XXX X XX XX X > X XX XXX XX X X X X XPX XBX XXX XXX Here you need to get the timing down. When the platform's about to hit the edge, drop the square onto it. Then you can drop the square behind the platform as it is about to hit the other edge. The order you do this in is irrelevant. It's a pretty good ending puzzle to a beginning level. C-1-1. XXXXX XB X XR XXXXXX XP X XXX XBRX X , G -> to kill those Drop bottom B -> then <-, under the platform. B R P ^ BR PB R -> B -> P -> C-1-5. XXXX XX XX XP RP RX XX XX XX XG GX XX XX XP RX XX XX XXXX The central part is a nasty place where you ca drop blocks, but it's also necessary to clump the three P's and R's together. G -> -> R(bottom) <- R(right) <- then 1 square <- R(top) <- -> to match the 3 R's P(bottom) -> P(top) -> 1 square <- P(top) -> -> C-1-6. XXXXXXXXX X B W X X R G X X G P X X R R W X X P P B X XXXXXXXXX This is a very tough level if you don't notice how to dispose of the triad(red/purple.) You need to bring the top purple over a bridge to the left. R(left)-> R(top) <- to clear the R's W G B P G W P P B W(top) <- B(left)-> P(top) <- to get the purples. Now the cleanup: G BW GWB G <- B <- W <- B <- C-1-7. XXXXXXXXX XPG X XB X XPB X XRB X XXX X X X X X XX X X X XGR X XXXXXX The obvious sticker here is the lump of three blues. It seems dropping them in order winds up in trouble, and you can't put them off G-> to the bottom B(bottom)-> <- into he nook G-> B(2nd top) -> -> B(top) -> -> -> That's the tough part. Now... R -> P -> -> while you wait G -> C-1-8. XXX XXPXX XPB X XXP X XX X X X XX XX X B^PX XXBXX XXX Looks a bit contorted but the solution is easy. Push P right when it's under the platform. Then after the small chain reaction push B right when it's under the platform. That's it for this level. C-2-1. XXXXXXXXX XBP BX XXX PX X > BX XX X XX XX X X X X X XXXXXXX Here you have to be careful--if you wait around moving something on the platform, it will fall off into the hole on the left, because the platform goes under the far left wall. B(lowest) -> <- B(up left) onto conveyor. Drop it 2 right of the first B. P(right) <- P(left) onto conveyor. Just when the platform goes into the wall. Drop the P on the one in the pit. Your aim can be bad. B onto the platform. Drop it in the far right, then drop it left between the two below. C-2-2. XXXXXXXXXX X X X X X X X X XG G G X XX X X X X X XR P BX XPR RB BPX XXX XX^XXX XXXXXXXXXX This one requires a whole bunch of triads, and you need some semblance of order to do them in. Fortunately you can move all of one color at once to get things done. Push the middle R right, then the top one to clear that triad. Left green right, middle green left, right green onto platform and then left 3x Push middle B under the platform. Then push the right B over it. Push the middle P left, left P right, and move the right P over the platform to make the final triad. C-2-3. XXXXXXXXX X X X X XB P BX XXRX RXPX XX XXXX XX XX XP PX XX XX X X X X X^X XXX Here you actually have to avoid making a triad. Dropping the top purple will kill you. So let one of the purples in the center drop down onto the platform, then drop the right B down. Bring the purple over it and to the right. Move the Blue to the left to clear the blues. Then bring the red over the platform to the left. C-2-4. X X X XP X XRB X XP^BX XRBRX XXXXX Crowded house(and shaped like it.) XXXXX XP BX XX XX XB X XX X X BX XP PX XX XX X^X XXX P(top) -> And now you need a bit of timing. Take the left B and drop it on the platform as it goes up. Grab it again and push L before it hits the top. This may take a few tries but start early when in doubt so you can retry. Then just put the bottom B on the platform and it will rise to make the triad. C-2-6. It's possible to do everything--just drop everything but the greens, then drop the middle green right and left onto a platform, the left green down the center(trapping the platform to the right) and the right green to the right(or to the left, if you pushed the center green down.) You'll have G G < XG Timing's much easier, so just backheel the G in. However, you don't have to worry about timing if you work as follows: P <- P <- R <- R <- and match as necessary W <- <- C <- with the platform moving right so it gets trapped on the right. Now G(left) -> and then walk it on the platform when you need to. There's still a timing issue, but again drop the G's down the small chute where the other pieces were before dropping them in. This level has a lot of shifting and many blind alleys. I think I've found a good solution, though. You should try ti start with a less obvious triad. I went with the flames with good result. Left side: F <- <- B -> K -> B <- GB -> 2 squares F <---- for triad B <- C <- from the ledge B -> platform, G -> 1 square, B <---- B(left) -> B <- C(platform) <---- to match B -> platform <---- for triad G <- K -> onto platform C(lower) -> to right hole R -> C <- gives a good bridge, but the final C will cause constipation. K ->(match) C -> fall into the DR. Then at the bottom, F <- R <- R(left) -> R(right) <- gets the triad. Now fill up the well. B -> ->(_don't_ match the B's--wait 'til later to start a chain reaction. You need to figure out how to bring the crescent over to the right, where you simply pair items up. You'll need a flame triad, but how to pick it up? It's impossible on the right, so you need to pair the ones in the top center and work on the left. K <- P -> B ->(on top of P) On the left, K(lower) -> B <- K -> F -> for a match, then C -> into the hole and K <- across it. Then you can drop R, P, R, P, B down the chute and match everything up with them in order. Match the F's in the chamber and C -> -> and drop C down. Now you can pull the B back. K's match. G -> W -> K <- F -> and the C's go too. End of FAQ proper ================================ 6. VERSIONS 2.0.1 sent to GameFAQs 3/23/2004. Corrected F-4-3. 2.0.0 sent to GameFAQs 1/4/2004. First complete FAQ of 2004 and it's a doozy. Missing perhaps one dialogue and high-scoring tips. 1.1.0 sent to GameFAQs 12/28/2003. I've completed the 'lower right' path in story mode and up to the D's elsewhere, which puts me through half the puzzles now. 1.0.0: sent to GameFAQs 12/21/2003. I've completed everything up to C as well as the 'upper right' path in story mode. I'll pick off the rest when I can get around to it but wanted to show one solution. This was a down and dirty FAQ before the extraction-heavy Magic Candle III. 7. CREDITS The usual GameFAQs gang. They know who they are, and you should, too, because they get some SERIOUS writing done. Good people too--bloomer, daremo, falsehead, RetroFreak, Snow Dragon/Brui5ed Ego, ZoopSoul, and others I forgot. CJayC for creating GameFAQs.com so that I could post cute little time wasting guides like this. Sam's Club for always having silly bargain games like this. Thanks to Otto, my cat, who was fun to pet during the many needless breaks, too, and when he tries to step on the keyboard I can figure out when so I can hit ctrl-S, which is nice.
