What's New -= -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Version 1.0 (10/27/10): The first version. ***************************************************************************** -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= -= 2. Introduction -= -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= In Your Face is a VERY simplistic basketball game for the Game Boy. It is meant to be street ball, in that you play only on half of the court with one hoop, and with only 1-2 players on each team. If playing against the computer which can be tough is not enough, you can play against a second human player. Either way, there is nothing memorable at all; the players are all the same and there are no statistics whatsoever. Nonetheless, if you want to try this game, feel free, but be warned it is EXTREMELY basic! ***************************************************************************** -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= -= 3. Controls -= -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Control Pad: Move player A: Block (defense), pass (offense) B: Jump (defense), shoot (offense; tap twice) ***************************************************************************** -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= -= 4. Overview -= -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= At the title screen, you can choose a game against the computer or against a second human player. The next screen lets you choose if this is a 1 on 1 or a 2 on 2 game. This basically means you play solo or you have a teammate. Following this point, you will choose from four players to use (there are no statistics, so it does not matter who you pick). If you selected a 2 on 2 game, you can pick from two teams of these arbitrary players. Next, you can tweak the game's settings, such as whether the winner or loser must leave upon defeat, and the amount of time/score the game is played until. Once you are done here, the game begins with a coin toss to determine who gets the ball first. The basketball game itself is street style, taking up only half of the court. The hoop, which you share with your opponent, is at the north end. Take a shot and if you make it in, you score a single point. Gameplay then starts back at the half-court line. There are a couple of quick things to note about the game. When shooting, you press B once to jump in the air, but you must press B a second time while facing the hoop to shoot the ball. If you don't do this, you will be given a foul for traveling and the opponent receives the ball. Also, if you are grabbing a rebound from a failed shot, you must run southward from the hoop (as designated by an arrow that appears), effectively "taking out" the ball for another shot attempt. This is meant to keep things fair to an extent, presumably. After the game ends, you can simply play again or not. Nothing is saved, and there are no statistics that affect gameplay whatsoever. ***************************************************************************** -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= -= 5.
