I've completed literally everything, except I'm not sure if I've covered every enemy, so I'm not saying that the FAQ is complete yet. Version 1.00 - October 14, 2002 - Current FAQ Size: 17KB As you can see, I've added some ASCII Art to the FAQ. I've also added more enemies and changed some names thanks to Brian Sulpher. And I changed a mistake with the copyright stuff. Version 1.05 - October 15, 2002 - Current FAQ Size: 18KB This is the final version of my FAQ. I just added one more enemy to the enemies section. Version 1.10 (Final) - Date: January 12, 2006 - FAQ Size: 11KB Minor formatting changes were made to make this guide similar to the other ones I have up on the site. Introduction ------------ Hello, and welcome to my In-Depth Enemies FAQ! This FAQ is designed to cover everything about the enemies in Donkey Kong Land. If you need to know anything about the enemies, it's here. The game, Donkey Kong Land, which originally came out for the first Game Boy, can be played on any Game Boy now. It also looks better on Game Boy Advance or even Color, as with the old black and white version it was hard to see DK or Diddy Kong. So, now that you know what I'm talking about, let's move on to the main point of the FAQ - enemies. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= *************************** * Section 2 - The Enemies * *************************** Well, this is what you came for! The enemies. They come in all sorts of different shapes and sizes, and they can look weird or cool or any of the above things. The enemies are classified into two different sections: one is the ground enemies, and the others are the underwater enemies. This is just so you know. Okay... on with the enemies! Ground Enemies -------------- Kritter ======= They are the main enemy in the game. Kritter just walk back and forth anywhere. Some also even jump, so you have to take precautions. They might lunge at you sometimes, or come out of nowhere, so be careful! To kill them, you can do one of the following: -Jump on them -Roll or cartwheel them -Throw a barrel at them Gnawty ====== These things walk quite fast, so be careful when near them. Also, because they're small, it may be hard to see them. To kill them, you can do one of the following: -Jump on them -Roll or cartwheel them -Throw a barrel at them Necky ===== These are the bigger version of Necky. They are simply birds that fly through the air. They are very thin, so when you're in stages that have ropes moving and you must avoid enemies, you'll see them often. To kill them, you can do one of the following: -Jump on them -Throw a barrel at them Mini-Necky ========== This is the smaller version of Necky. All they do is stay where they where they are, flapping their wings. With about 3 second intervals, they'll shoot coconuts at you! To kill them, you can do one of the following: -Jump on them -Throw a barrel at them Klap-Trap ========= These guys are tiny little things that slide along the ground. They are very hard to see in dark places, so look out, and try to stay away when you hear snapping sounds. To kill them, you can do one of the following: -Jump on them -Throw a barrel at them Zinger ====== A bee is what these things look like. They can be anywhere, and can move up or down or anywhere, for that matter. You'll usually find tons of them in stages were you grab moving ropes and avoid enemies. To kill them, you must do this: -Throw a barrel at them Slippa ====== In small, cramped places, these are impossible to see. Literally. They are snakes that slither along the ground. To kill them, you can do one of the following: -Jump on them -Roll or cartwheel them -Throw a barrel at them Klump ===== This is a large thing with a big, hard hat on his head. He walks very slowly, but is very strong. To kill them, Donkey Kong can do one of the following: -Jump on them -Roll on them -Throw a barrel at them To kill them, Diddy Kong can do one of the following: -Cartwheel on them -Throw a barrel at them Army ==== These things are very annoying. They'll roll back and forth across the ground left and right, hitting anything in its path. Eventually he'll come out of his shell and snicker for a second or two. You must have precise movement to jump on him right away, before he gets back in his shell and start rolling again. To kill them, Donkey Kong can do one of the following: -Jump on them -Roll on them -Throw a barrel at them To kill them, Diddy Kong can do one of the following: -Jump on them twice -Cartwheel on them -Throw a barrel at them Krusha ====== They are very powerful. In fact, they are the second strongest in the game only to Strong Krusha. To kill them, Donkey Kong can do one of the following: -Jump on them -Throw a barrel at them To kill them, Diddy Kong must do this: -Throw a barrel at them Strong Krusha ============= The other version of Kruncha is super-powerful. He is the most powerful in Donkey Kong Land. To kill them, you must do this: -Throw a barrel them Drum ==== These are just big drums that spit out different types of enemies. They aren't monster-like enemies. To kill them, you must do this: -Throw a TNT Barrel at them Mincer ====== This isn't really a monster-like enemy. It's just an old wheel with spikes all around it that spins. You cannot kill this enemy. Gerbil Wheel ============ These things are Gerbil in a wheel. When they walk, they spin the wheel. Let me warn you this wheel is very big. They'll chase after you when you pass them, so keep running! You can not kill this enemy. Underwater Enemies ------------------ Chomps Jr. ========== You'll only find them underwater. They are the smaller version of Chomps. You can not kill this enemy. Chomps ====== This is the bigger version of the Chomps. You'll only find them underwater. You can not kill this enemy. Croctopus ========= They are large enemies that look like a small ball in the middle with vines sticking out. You'll only find them underwater. You can not kill this enemy. Chaser ====== They are called chaser because... they chase you. When you first pass them, they'll wake up and go after you. They'll only stop at a set point, so you must keep swimming to get away. You'll only find them underwater. You can not kill this enemy. Crab ==== What these enemies do is they slap their legs together to go upward. When they stop, they'll float back down. You'll only find them underwater. You can not kill this enemy. Clambo ====== These are things that open and shut their mouths. Usually you'll find them in tight spaces, and you'd have to wait for them to open their mouths so you could go by. You'll only find them underwater. You can not kill this enemy. Squidge ======= All they do is go upwards. They look like a rocket that stops and goes. You'll only find them underwater. You can not kill this enemy. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= *********************************** * Section 3 - Copyright & Contact * *********************************** Credits ------- **http://www.network-science.de/ascii/input.html** The link itself says it all, my ASCII art for the first page came from here. It doesn't just come in one font, either - there are many other types as well, I just chose to use a rather simple one. **Jeff 'CJayC' Veasey** Without him, this FAQ wouldn't exist in the first place. He has the best video game reference site I've ever found in GameFAQs, and I hope he continues with it for years to come. I can't thank him enough. **You** Why you? Because as the reader, you provide me with a reason to write. What use would this guide be without people to read it? Thank you. Contact ------- Questions? Comments? Suggestions? Corrections? I'm generous enough to give you the privilege of contacting me, so please do not abuse this privilege.
