When you press A, the cursor will stop, and whatever number you land on is the maximum number of hits you can take from cars that drive around the map constantly. •At the start of the game, you have two optional mini-games on the map that you can play to increase the number of paw tokens you have (in other words, how many times you can take damage). These are detailed at the end. Tiles is in the upper half of the map, and Memory Test in the lower section. •From the upper right corner of the map, go west and south about three blocks each to find a building that has a floating indicator pointing at it. Enter for a conversation between Tama and friends. •Afterwards, wander around on the map and attempt to catch the black cat, which will go around at random, often doubling back. Press A in front of him to be able to engage in another long conversation. •Following that, go to the upper left corner of the map and enter the building here. After more talk, you will engage in a mini-game. Maze in the Dark ================ You will be put into a maze mostly cast in darkness, with only a little bit of light cast around Tama to be able to navigate. You must go through the entire maze and find a bell that is located at one of the dead ends of the labyrinth. Where the bell is appears to be randomised, so you will have to methodically explore every nook and cranny. There will be a single mouse wandering around the cave that will cause damage should Tama walk into it. At the same time, a bar at the bottom of the screen will also count down the amount of time you have before you must restart going through the maze again (and presumably the bell's location also resets). From where you start in the upper left corner, go all the way down until you hit a wall, then right until you see the second down path. Take this route, then head right at the end. Once you have an option between going up or down, go up and follow it to a bell, at which point another cutscene shall occur. •Proceed to the lower right corner of the map and enter the household here. After another conversation, you will be made to partake in another mini- game. Rescue the Friends ================== In this game, you have to start with rescuing Pochi (or Doozle as he is known in the dub of Tama & Friends) from a collapsed floor. This is achieved by pushing moveable block tiles around that, when sent moving, will continue until they hit a wall, the floor or another tile. At the same time, two will-o-wisps will be floating around the screen that cause damage if Tama comes in contact with them. Start off by moving up from the entrance and press A while facing downwards on the right of the two blocks within range to send it to the bottom side of the room. Go down and past the moved block and push the second block up to knock the block Pochi is on to the top end of the room. Head up and come in contact with Pochi to rescue him. Send the rightmost top block down, then go back down and send the third block up. Head over to the upper left corner and send the tile here right to push it and the floating tile to the right. Navigate around to enter the next room. In the second room, the two will-o-wisps will be replaced by a bat that can float around (however, you can destroy it by pushing a block around). Of the bottom three blocks, push the right one to the right. Go up and of the remaining 8 blocks in the upper-left corner, push the lower centre, middle right and then the entre all right so that you are left with an upside-down L shape to navigate around the room to the upper right side. Push the left of the four blocks here down to complete the path and head out into the third room. Stand on the upper of the two blocks to the right and send the lower one down. Head over and grab Kuro (Wocket). Go up and push the right of the centre two blocks down, then head over to the lower left and push the block here right. Move back around and head down the two blocks into the fourth room. Grab the black cat Beh (Chopin) right away, then head right and push a block up. Go over to the left side and push another block right, then continue back to the right side from the bottom part of the room to take the two blocks you pushed through into the fifth room. Here, loop around to the centre top and push the lone free block left, then push the right of the two centre blocks right. Go back to the entrance to grab the spotted cat, then push the other block here right, send the remaining block in its way further right and giving you access to the exit. For room six, push the lower left block to the right to rescue the cat in here. Push the same block you moved earlier up next, then head up to the upper left corner and push it down, right and up. Now head up and push the third block left. Of the two blocks in the top, push them both up now to get into the next section. Coming into the seventh room, navigate all the way around the room and grab your canine friend. Move back around to the entrance, but in doing so, kick the right block of the last horizontal row of blocks right. Push the last vertical block down to plug up the hole in the bottom row. Push the next right block in a left-right set right to complete the loop around from the entrance to the exit. For the eight room, push the nearby block to the entrance right, then push the right of the two nearby lower blocks right. Go over and rescue the dog, then push the same lower block you pushed earlier down to the bottom wall. Push the left block in the second last row in the upper right corner left, then push the block below the centre block south to complete a passageway. The ninth room is a lot simpler: head over to the left side and push two blocks right. Go over to the top right corner, push the right-most block down, then push the next block in sequence right to take the first block's place, letting you get out to the house's final room. Inside the tenth and last room, push the upper-left corner block down. Push the upper right block right. Push the center block down and right, then push the last block right and down. Head up to the upper-right corner to wrap up the mini-game. •Outside again, head straight left and talk to Buru/Bupkus to initiate a conversation. You will then have another, more short mini-game. Cross the Bridge ================ This is a rather short platforming mini-game. You must cross left over the various obstacles such as moving tires, stable platforms, and some logs that will subside and rise up, all while dodging debris tossed by Buru over the side of the bridge. If you get hit by garbage you take damage. The overall segment is, however, fairly short so unless you stay on a log too long or miss the timing with the moving tires it should quickly be done over with. •Afterwards, head into the woods, where you will after some more time play a game of Hide and Seek. Hide and Seek ============= For a game of Hide and Seek, this is rather painfully luck-based. In a plot of 12 garden bushes, Tama's 7 animal friends are hiding behind 7 of them. If you press A in front of a bush and pull it back to find one of your friends, that friend will stay there. If the next bush you pull back has one of Tama's friends as well, the first animal friend will disappear and be counted on the bar on top: otherwise, he or she will disappear again behind one of the other bushes. As a result, the first six cats and dogs need to have an animal friend discovered with the next bush to be considered caught (when you find the seventh animal, the game finishes up). If you make an incorrect choice, you take damage. Compounding the problem is that Buru/Bupkus is also in one of the bushes, and if you get him, then the entire game resets. However, his position is fixed throughout each iteration of the game, so if you go through 11 of 12 bushes looking for your animal friends and trying to get several in a row, always avoid the 12th bush as Buru will be behind the last one. Upon getting all seven of your friends, the ending will start. ~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~- Extra Mini-Games -~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~ [MINI] Tiles ===== Located in a house with an open door on the upper half of the map, in tiles, you start off with a 5x5 'Bingo Card', so to speak, and each tile will be randomised with one of Tama's 7 animal friends and Buru/Bipkus, for a total of 8 different unique tiles among the 5x5 rows and columns. At the start, a certain number of tiles will be greyed out. By using one of your remaining Paw Tokens, the machine will drop a ball down with an animal head on it. If you have a corresponding animal tile on the 5x5 card that is not already blacked out, you can select that animal tile to grey it out, or press the B button to reject the ball. If an animal ball is dropped that you cannot use, the machine will automatically send it back up. Once you get a row of 5, including diagonally, of greyed-out tiles, you will be given an extra 10 Paw Tokens, and all 5 tiles will be whitened out and can be greyed out again with an applicable animal ball. The tiles will NOT be re-randomised, however, unless you exit the game and reenter the house. Memory Test =========== Located in a house with an open door on the lower half of the map, you are given 9 warp pipes layed out in 3 rows of 3. One of Tama's animal friends will pop up in a pipe, and Tama must go and jump at the pipe as part of a memory test. In each subsequent level, the number of animals jumping up in a sequence increases by 1, so Level 2 has 2 animals, Level 3 has 3 animals, and so on. The sequence remains the same as the level before it, aside from adding on one more animal. At Level 5, you get 5 tokens if you pass, and presumably 10 if you get past Level 10. However, if you fail, you get 5 tokens taken away. ~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~- Donations/Amazon -~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~ [DONT] I don't really care too much about donations, but if you are feeling generous, feel free to send one via PayPal to gammabetaalphafaqs AT gmail DOT com Alternatively, if you ever order any items from Amazon.com, go to the link below. I write FAQs for plenty of obscure old games with no FAQs, and having a physical copy of the game (and even better, a manual) is superior to not.
