The only buttons you'll need on the DS are left and right to pan the screen a bit, as well as B and A to select and deselect commands. Many things on the screen can be interacted with. Touching the stylus to things that can be interacted with will cause a hand icon or a speech bubble to appear. Touch the icon and the speech bubble to interact with that object or person. If a little walking person appears, then you can head in that direction. On the top right corner of every screen (except the map), there is a circle with a little person, which allows you to leave the room (if you can only go to the map, it'll have a compass needle on it. Another thing you can touch is the System Menu, where you'll see five options: Flashback, Item, Character, Dataload, and Datasave. If something changes, then the System Menu icon will glow and the option(s) that changed will have a "!" icon beside them. Flashback: Holds all of your flashbacks, unconfirmed and confirmed. Use the L and R buttons to switch between unconfirmed and confirmed. To confirm a flashback, Ethan must know every part of the story - the title, the time, the place, and what was going on. Once confirmed, they disappear from the unconfirmed section and will reappear in the confirmed section. As things change, confirmed flashbacks can disappear, or you may have to reconfirm them... Item: Shows all of the items that are in your inventory currently. Some are just there to confirm timelines, others are there to be used during Digs, and some may just vanish without warning... Character: Shows the full names and a brief summary of every character that you've met. Sometimes their statuses can change... Dataload: Just as it says, if you do something you didn't want to, use this to load your saved game. Datasave: As it says, use this to save your game. Occasionally, you'll have to do Digging Sessions with the Hollow Pen. During these times, all time will stop. Use the stylus to draw a circle where you want to open a hole, which will lead to a moment in the flashback (the flashback is at the top screen). Tap on suspect objects and you'll be given the choice of Look, Examine, Talk, and Item. Which one you'll have to do depends on the Hole that you opened up and where you are in the storyline, but once you are done you'll have to close the hole. To close the hole, click the bright green circle on the top-right. You must close all holes, but be careful. Each time you close a hole, one use disappears from the Pen. If the bar drains completely, you'll die! Touching the closed circle will cancel the dig. As for the Hollow Pen itself, be even more careful. If the pen's gauge is not full between chapters, the bar will decrease permanently by however much it isn't full. To refill the bar during a chapter to prevent this from happening, search for Sox outside - he'll pop up in random places. Tapping on him will refill your bar by one use. Your Pen's gauge will not remain full; it'll decrease permanently at the end of each chapter - in optimal conditions, it will only decrease by one. ================================================================================ Walkthrough [TIME3] ================================================================================ -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- a. Prologue: A New Day [TIME4] -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Once you start the game, you'll see the main character, Ethan, in his room, having been scratched up by his cat, Sox, whom he had been trying to bathe. Hee. This first bit, the game holds your hand and teaches you how many things work, such as interacting with objects and people as well as how to leave the room. Here, examine everything: Sox, the bed, the TV, the brown shelves, the grey shelves, the desk, the window, and the floor. You'll learn about Vin, Ben, and Morris upon touching the shelves as well as a place called Chronos. Once you have examined everything, Pamela, Ethan's mother, will call him down for dinner. Leave the room. You'll see a cutscene of Sox outside with a prowler. However, Ethan and his parents, Pamela and Timothy, are oblivious to this. Talk to Timothy. He'll ask for the soy sauce. Pan the screen to the right to find the soy sauce and select it to automatically pass it. Talk to Pamela to ask for some salt. Both adults will flip out about the scratches until Ethan mentions that Sox gave them to him. Heh. They'll all talk a bit until Derek is brought up since Sox used to be his cat, and Timothy will (rather harshly) coment that Derek hasn't been around because he doesn't need their money. Dinner ends and Timothy leaves. Go back to your room. In a scene outside, Sox is quite angry about the mysterious prowler outside, who just walks off. Back in your bedroom, you'll see that Sox is back on your bed and that the window in Ethan's room is open again. Close the window. After Ethan talks to Sox, you're called back down for tea. Leave the room. As Ethan stands on the stairs, he'll note that Derek had come over and he and Timothy are arguing over money. Derek wants money, but Timothy says they don't have enough to lend him. After arguiing a bit, Derek leaves the house angrily. Talks of Ethan's birthday comes up, and they mention getting him a present, but then the talk switches to when they are going to tell him about something. Of course they ignore Ethan when he talks about his present, and when he finally interjects, they tell him they'll talk about it tomorrow. Timothy leaves. Ethan explodes at his mom, telling him that no one ever listens and that she never seasons her meals properly, and he storms off to his room. Once here, examine Sox to remove him from the bed. Now click on your bed to go to bed. Ethan will reflect on what happened and decide to apologize to his mom while wondering what his dad was talking about. Ethan then falls asleep. However, a young Ethan starts to have a nightmare. His parents are trapped in a burning inferno, when everything except Timothy freezes. Timothy wonders who did it as he sees a purple hole. Young Ethan calls to them, but Timothy picks up the frozen Pamela and goes through the hole. Older Ethan wakes up and realizes that it was just a nightmare. Or was it? Ethan looks at his hand and realizes that the scratch from Sox is gone. Not only that, but don't things seem... changed? (As if the big purple hole in the middle of your room wasn't a clue...) Examine everything from last time. The TV, both shelves, and the trash can are unchanged, but the desk, floor, and bed are now completely different. Sox then approaches Ethan and you take a pen hooked on his collar. Once you have the pen, touch the odd purple hole in space. Ethan taps it with the pen, and he has several Flashbacks: 1) A burning building. 2) Derek reading a newspaper at the dinner table. 3) A dumpster filled with trash and a small object on top of the trash. The hole is now gone. Someone calls to Ethan and Derek comes into his room. Ethan asks him about his parents, to which Derek is confused. After a bit, Derek mentions that it has been 12 years since they vanished. Wait a minute. Weren't you just having dinner with them yesterday? Regardless, whatever has happened, Ethan's parents are gone and he had been raised by his Uncle Derek for the last twelve years. Derek goes back downstairs and the game teaches you about Flashbacks. Examine the three flashbacks that are there. You can confirm the one with Uncle Derek, but nothing can be done with the other two. Once done, go downstairs. Ethan and Derek will talk some more, and Ethan will note how much nicer Derek seems. Derek will leave. Examine the study, and then leave the house. You've got school after all! After school (who wants to go to that?), Ethan will notice two boys talking about a cool clock they found before two girls, Ashley and Emily, run up to him and wish him a happy birthday and give him a present - an antique clock. The girls then leave as Vin, Ben, and Morris come up to you. After a bit, Ethan asks what they knew about his parents. Examining all three of them will have them confirm what Derek said - that they vanished twelve years ago. Afterwards, you'll be on the map screen. If you go the Station, you'll run into Ben and Ethan who'll mention you're acting weird. You can go to the Library but you can't enter, and you'll automatically leave if you go to the Park or Vin's House. If you go to Chronos, you'll find Emily there, but you can't enter the cafe itself. Go to Ethan's house, and he'll comment on how it seems changed. Head inside. Derek doesn't seem to be home. Go to your room, where Ethan will set the clock on his desk. He reflects on how his dad wanted to tell him something, but never did. Sox meows, and Ethan notices the piece of paper that is attached to his collar and takes it. It's a note. "The Hollow Pen has been handed down through many generations of the Kairos family. The Pen will glow when certain conditions have been fulfilled. Then you can open a Hole in time. You'll learn the rest at the school's garbage dump. Be there 7 hours before on May 5." What the? Oh well. Leave your room to find that Derek has come home. They talk for a bit, before Derek goes to bed. Leave the house and head head for the school. Head inside to the schoolyard, then pan right a little and go inside the dark passageway there to reach the dump. Nothing's there... or is there? Isn't this the place from a Flashback? Confirm the flashback of the school's garbage dump. The Hollow Pen will suddenly start glowing and you'll be doing your first Digging Session! Once you've got the basics down, open a circle around the small red thing on the garbage bags and select "Examine". Watch the cutscene of Ethan learning how to dig and finding a letter and the watch he wanted for his birthday. "Beyond the Hole is a Moment from the past. The Holes you open must be closed, or time won't start up again. The holder of the Pen must have the Time to use it. Once you've gotten the hang of the Pen, come and rescue us. P.S. This box is for you, in memory of the first Hole you ever opened. -Dad" So this is from your parents, eh? And it seemed like they knew what was going to happen...? Once he stops talking, close the Hole. New flashbacks will occur. 1) Ethan walking away from a pair of students 2) The trash dump, but without the red box and the letter You'll automatically head home. Ethan talks to Sox about how he'd tried to give him a bath yesterday, but that world had vanished, and now Ethan decides to save his parents. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- b. Chapter 1: The Day that Vanished [TIME5] -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- You'll be at school again. Jack Twombly, Ethan's homeroom teacher, will appear and throw a pop quiz at him. 1. [O Captain! my Captain!] 2. [Old Time is still a-flying] 3. [I-I don't know] The right answer is option 2, but it doesn't really affect the story if you get it wrong. Mr. Twombly leaves, and Ashley and Emily come running and ask him about the present they gave him. Vin comes up, and he and his sister argue about how Ashley had lost her pink cellphone with a animal keychain. Ethan suddenly gets a weird feeling and suddenly, even more flashbacks appear. 1) A white dog tied to a ladder next to a treehouse 2) Ashley looking for something in her locker 3) Emily and Ashley fighting outside somewhere 4) Morris, a pink-haired girl, and another boy at their desks in a classroom And everyone seems to have vanished. Ben runs up to him and tells him to help with searching for Ashley, who had vanished two days ago. But you were just talking with her and Emily a few seconds ago...? Once Ben leaves, go into the school by the lockers. Hm, that's the spot you saw in the Flashback. Confirm the Flashbacks of the garbage dump and Ethan walking away from two students. Talk to the male student. Ask him, in order: 1. [Do you know Ashley Threet?] 2. [When did you last see Ashley?] 3. [What was Ashley looking for?] He'll tell you that he last saw her the day before yesterday, at around 4:30, searching for something, but he doesn't know what. He leaves. Now you can update the Flashback of Ashley by her locker, but that's it. Head down the hallway and you'll see Mr. Twombly again. If you talk to him, he'll mention that he's headed to an emergency teacher's meeting concerning Ashley's disappearance and leave. Go inside the classroom, where you'll see the scene from one of the Flashbacks. Talk to Morris, but he doesn't want to leave yet; he's studying. Try to talk to the pink-haired girl and she'll leave without saying a word. Ethan notes that he doesn't recognize her. Now talk to Morris again, and he'll say that her name was Kori and she's part of their class. Morris will leave to search. Go to the Flashback about Morris, the girl, and the third student in the classroom and confirm it. Leave and go to the schoolyard, where Ethan will see two Freshman girls and go to question them. Talk to them and ask them the following: 1. [Do you know Ashley Threet?] 2. [Is Emily looking for Ashley too?] 3. [Where was Emily headed?] They're in the same class but don't talk to her. One of them says that Emily is looking for her, which surprises the other since she saw Emily this morning. A rumor was going around that Emily was with her before she vanished. Neither girl knows where she is though, and they leave. Ben comes up at this point with no leads, and Ethan decides to look around outside, and you'll be on the map screen. Head to the Station and you'll find Emily standing there. Talk to her. You'll realize that she doesn't know how Ethan knows her name, but assumes it was because he overheard them discussing his present. Ethan then realizes the conversation never happened. Emily will start to blame herself for Ashley's disappearance, and you'll get the opportunity to ask her a few questions: 1. [Did something happen to Ashley?] 2. [Where did you two argue?] 3. [When was this argument?] Apparently just before they were going to buy Ethan's present, Ashley didn't have the money and had probably lost it. Emily didn't believe her and they got into a fight and pushed her away. Ashley got upset and ran off, and now Emily can't find her. They had argued in front of Chronos by the wall with the bikes, the day before yesterday, and around 7 PM. Ethan tells Emily to leave before she catches a cold outside, and she does so. But... since the conversation where Emily and Ashley gave Ethan the present never happened, what about the present? Before leaving, go confirm the Flashback where Emily and Ashley are arguing. Now, head back home and to Ethan's room. Sure enough, the clock you received is gone. Ethan thinks about what else has changed, such as Kori appearing in their class. Go to the schoolyard and you'll meet up with Morris, who hasn't had any luck. Head back inside to the hallway and examine the piece of paper on the wall to the left. Hey, that's Kori's contact info! He'll call Kori, about the information on the bulletin board (she'd found a lost envelope, and Emily said Ashley had lost an envelope, after all...), and Kori will come to where Ethan is. She'll mention how a Freshman girl had bumped into her and dropped the envelope full of money. Ethan will ask for it, but Kori wonders whether he's really her friend, and refuses to give it until he has proof of it. So leave the school and go to Vin's House and talk to Vin, who'll show some photographs to you. One of those photographs happens to be a picture of Vin, Ashley, and Ethan, which Ethan will borrow. Now get back to the school and to Kori and show her the picture. She'll keep Ethan's number and give him the envelope, cryptically telling him it'd be good for Ashley to find it, and that what happened should have never happened had she not shown up, but before she clarifies, she leaves. Ethan decides that it would be better to give it to Ashley in the past. Now, here you have two options as to where to give Ashley the money: 1) At her locker where she was searching for something. 2) At Chronos' parking lot where she and Emily are fighting. Pick your destination, and go there and open a circle. 1) If you pick the locker, place the envelope in her locker. 2) If you pick Chronos, place the envelope in Ashley's hand. More flashbacks will occur. 1) Ashley and Emily talking outside Chronos. 2) Ashley and Emily giving Ethan a homemade birthday card (Chronos only) 3) Ashley and Emily baking cookies together (locker only) 4) Ashley and Emily giving Ethan a bag of cookies (locker only) You'll suddenly end up in your room with either the card or the cookies on your shelves. The window opens up and Sox jumps onto your bed. Vin is outside your window, and he invites you to Chronos, but Ashley then appears and drags him away, all while apologizing and saying she'll get you a better present the next year. Ethan will examine the present, and then talk about how amazing the pen is, as the chapter ends. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- c. Chapter 2: The Day that Changed [TIME6] -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ethan wonders where to start searching for his parents when his friends run up to him and talk him into going to Chronos. You're the only patrons outside of a man reading his newspaper, and you're greeted by the pretty waitress Olivia, who Ben has a crush on. Heh. Check your Flashbacks and confirm the following: Ashley and Emily giving Ethan a gift, and Ashley and Emily baking cookies (locker only). Talk to Vin, Ven, and Morris. You can talk to the guy with the newspaper, but he won't say anything. Make sure to pan to the left and notice the owner, Eva. Then Olivia will walk up and mention she nearly had a brush with death; a truck had almost dropped its load on her, but luckily, her brakes had worked and she had escaped. Suddenly the guy with the newspaper leaves, causing the group to wonder if they were too loud. Ethan was about to leave when he has several more Flashbacks. This time, a cutscene of Olivia riding her bike occurs, but she is unable to brake as the truck's load falls on top of her. One new Flashback this time. 1) Olivia lying dead in the middle of a road. A large object and her destroyed bike are near her. Talk to Vin, Ben, and Morris, and try to enter Chronos... but it seems to be closed. Apparently yesterday, an accident had occurred, and Olivia had been killed. Now go confirm that new Flashback. Talk to your friends again. After seeing their reactions, he decides to go to the Intersection. A new place will have opened up on the map (Intersection) so head over there. When you get there, though, Kori will appear. She'll tell you can't help Olivia at the scene since she was too far gone, and that he should poke around even further before it happened, before leaving. Oddly enough, this lets you update one of the Flashbacks. (If you choose to go to the Park, you'll see a little boy with a dog, but you won't talk to him. Remember him.) Head to the Library, where you'll see Emily and Ashley standing. Talk to them about where they were, and they'll mention that they were discussing his present last night, around 7:10 PM - after the stores had closed, so they couldn't buy his present. Now you can confirm that Flashback with Emily and Ashley. Head back to the Chronos parking lot. Open a circle near the bicycle and examine it. The brake wire's been cut, which obviously was the cause of the accident. Since Ethan can't fix brakes, he nabs Olivia's bike key instead. Flashback time! 1) Emily and Ashley are talking outside Chronos 2) Olivia and Sara are walking on a steep slope 3) The accident, but instead of Olivia, it's the little boy and the dog from the Park. (You can also steal Emily's glasses by opening a hole around them and taking them. This will alter Flashbacks so that Emily doesn't have them. Also an option is to open a Hole at the bottom-middle of the screen and grab the pliers there. Taking the pliers will alter Chapter 3 events just a bit.) Inside Chronos, Olivia, alive and well, talks about an accident at the Intersection. But the dog from the Flashback is dead, which causes Ben to get depressed and Ethan to be shocked. The dog was dead, and the little kid was injured, which causes Ben to talk about Shiloh. Who? Regardless, Ethan leaves Chronos. Head back to the Intersection. The little boy will be there with his arm in a cast, and a grave for the dog is there. Talk to the little boy, who'll introduce himself as Jacob, and that his dog Lucky died. The car had a refrigerator on it that fell on Lucky, and had come from the north-east. Jacob will then leave. Confirm the traffic accident. Head northeast to see the spot from the Flashback where Olivia and Sara were walking. Head back to the Intersection where you'll see Sox. Sox will give you a chron, which will partially refill your Pen. After that, head back to Chronos and go inside. Ethan's friends are gone, only Olivia is left, and you'll get to ask her some questions about what happened. 1. [Do you know about the accident at the intersection?] 2. [Do you remember seeing a truck in the alley?] 3. [Do you remember seeing a person in the alley?] She remembers the accident, but doesn't remember the truck too well. She does remember another person there - Sara. Now, head to the library, where you'll run into Emily and Ashley. If you took her glasses, you have the opportunity to return them now if you want to. Either way, go inside the library and talk to Sara. She'll remember there was an accident that involved a truck. Ask her a few questions: 1. [Do you know about the accident at the intersection?] 2. [Do you remember seeing a truck in the alley?] 3. [Do you remember what time that was?] A refrigerator fell off the truck, like Jacob said, at around 8:40 PM. Now you can confirm the Flashback with Sara and Olivia! Make sure to go Sox hunting and fill your Pen up. If you go to the Station, you'll see Ben, who is moping, and Vin. If you head to the Park right now, Mr. Twombly will throw a pop quiz at you. "What does 'Time is money' mean?" 1. [Get a good hourly salary] 2. [It can literally turn into cash] 3. [Time is something precious] Pick option 3 to get it right. Once you're done with everything, head for the intersection, where you'll find Morris. They'll chat a bit and he'll leave. Head for the intersection where you can Dig a Hole! Make a Hole around the rope on the fridge and examine it. Before you can do anything, you'll hear someone approaching! But isn't time frozen? It's Kori! She'll laugh a little and tell him that he's changing yet another past, and that she can see it. So she has Flashbacks too? But nope, she doesn't possess a Pen and can't see it. She does provide a vital clue - whenever the pictures appear, someone's changed the past, including Ethan. That means there is someone else out there with a Pen! She'll then leave and Ethan ties that knot. Close the Hole and more Flashbacks will appear. 1) Sara and Olivia walking in the alley near the truck 2) Jacob and Lucky crossing the street without being involved in an accident. Ethan will find himself back at Chronos again, and everyone's in a good mood, except for Ben. Well, it seems that he's just upset because Olivia's got Aaron, a boyfriend, already. She then complains about her bike not working, what with the key gone and brakes broken, so she wants Aaron to pick her up. As upset as Ben is, Ethan doesn't consider this worth changing. Afterwards, you'll find yourself back in your room. Ethan will reflect on Emily blaming herself for Ashley's disappearance before it was fixed, and Olivia's accident. Someone had wanted to change the past for that reason, likely the same person that got rid of Ethan's parents... and from what Kori said, someone else was definitely involved. He decides to talk to her tomorrow. Elsewhere, someone else will regret handing the Pen down to someone, Ethan's name, and that if he gets in the way, they'll just erase him. End chapter! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- d. Chapter 3: The Day of Memories [TIME7] -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Which sequence of events you follow determines whether you took the pliers in Chapter 2 or not. Follow the one according to what you did. -------------------------------------------- |IF YOU DIDN'T REMOVE THE PLIERS IN CHAPTER 2| -------------------------------------------- Ethan will be at the Library with Morris. Since there was no school, he couldn't talk to Kori like he had been planning. Morris will ask Ethan if he's hiding something, which he'll admit to and tell him about what has been happening to him at the moment - about remembering that his parents had existed but that his parents didn't exist in this reality. Morris comes up with the potential solution of parallel worlds, similar to a book in their hideout called "The Mystery of Parallel Worlds." Morris gets distracted when his parents call, leaves, and then comes back, as Ethan makes plans to visit an antique shop called Aeon later. He gets a call from Vin, telling him that Ben had murdered someone at Chronos. WTF? Ben? The one described as a wuss by Ethan's standards? At this point, you'll be put on the Map. Confirm the Flashback of Jacob and Lucky walking and the Flashback of Sara and Olivia walking. Once done, get over to Chronos. You'll find Ben struggling to break free from Vin, Jacob sitting by himself near a wall, and a patch of blood. Examine the blood - it's on the ground and on Ben's hands. Talk to Ben and he'll insist that "he" started it and that it wasn't his fault. Talk to Jacob, who is looking really upset. Vin and Morris will then sit Ben down. Question time! Talk to Morris: 1. [Did Ben kill somebody?] 2. [What weapon did this?] They can't find a weapon, but it had to be something pretty sharp, like a knife. Talk to Ben: 1. [What happened here?] 2. [Did you have a knife?] He'll deny doing anything and protest that he just wanted to go to Chronos. Now talk to Vin: 1. [Did you see what happened?] He'll say he didn't, but that Aaron, the guy that Ben fought, was severely injured and breathing as they took him away in an ambulance. Eep. Now go and talk to Jacob. Since Jacob never met Ethan, they'll reintroduce themselves and so will Vin, Ben (well, Vin introduces Ben), and Morris. Talk to him again to ask him some questions. 1. [What are you doing here?] 2. [Who started it?] 3. [Where's Lucky now?] He'll say that he was walking Lucky, his dog. Then Ben saw Lucky and apparently got really upset, though Ben will protest that Lucky went after him. But Lucky isn't here; he ran off since he got scared. Now talk to Vin again. 2. [Who's Aaron?] As he says, Olivia's boyfriend who was at Chronos. Now talk to Ben - again. 3. [Why Aaron?] Before Ben can answer, Jacob interrupts. According to Jacob, he came out of the cafe and that Ben hit lucky, he thought he was gonna hit Ben, but Aaron interfered with that and the two started arguing. Ben will deny this. Now, talk to Vin. 3. [What do you think about it?] Vin says it adds up according to Jacob, since Ben disliked Aaron already for being Olivia's boyfriend, which Ben will protest at. Finally, talk to Morris. 3. [Now what?] Morris will suggest going to look for Lucky. Jacob wants to go, but he needs to stay here in case someone else had questions for him. Ethan knows what he looks like, and the two go search. Morris then says they'll probably arrest Ben for what happened. The two go to the station, where they see Kori. Morris asks her about the dog, but she says she hasn't seen one and leaves. Next, they head for the shop Aeon. Morris wonders if this is where Ben changed, where their secret hideout was, where they kept their dog Shiloh, and apparently he'd died the day there was a typhoon, since Ben had forgotten to tend to him. But since Lucky isn't there, they have to go elsewhere. Now, where Lucky will be is random for each playthrough. Just go everywhere outdoors, pan left and right, and look until you find him. I've found him right by Ethan's house and the intersection, but those aren't the only two places. Examine Lucky and Morris will note how cute and scared he is, and comfort him. Get back to Chronos. Vin is now alone. Apparently Aaron's dead, and Ben went to turn himself in... oh dear. Morris runs off to search for him, and then Vin will leave as well. Before he can do anything, Lucky starts barking at something by the parking lot. When Ethan looks, he finds a pair of pliers... which is the murder weapon and supposedly used for cutting things - wait, cutting things? Like the brakes of someone's bike? Jacob comes out, having heard Lucky bark, and notices the pliers and says that they were lying over there. Ethan gives him Lucky and lets him go home. Now, this is probably the hardest part of the entire game, because it's so difficult to SEE those darn pliers. Open a hole near the middle of the ground in between where Emily and Ashley are standing and pan the screen as far right as you can. See that object poking out from behind the wall? Examine those to find the pliers. Ethan worries a bit at first about taking the pliers, but realizes that since there are no other potential weapnos, everything should be fine. Close the Hole. Flashback! 1) Aaron is holding Ben and has his fist about to punch him. Ethan will find himself outside of Chronos. His phone rings. It's Vin, saying that Ben is in trouble and in the hospital. And since Aaron was a cop when he did this, he got arrested. Morris and Ethan agree that they need to get to the hospital as he's unconscious. Ethan asks Morris what happened, and he tells him the following: Jacob and Lucky walked by, surprising Ben, who tried to fight Jacob. Aaron came out of the cafe and tried to stop Ben, and they argued. Aaron knocked Ben over, who hit his head. Now go to the Station, where you'll find Kori, who'll tell you she knows that things aren't going well. Morris is puzzled and they're about to leave, when Kori tells him that he should keep trying, no matter how many times it takes, though he might not have enough Time. Meanwhile, Morris is even more puzzled, and Ethan decides to tell him what he knows. 1. [Do you believe in paranormal phenomenons?] 2. [What if you could change the world?] 3. [Can you keep a secret?] Morris would like a world where Ben hadn't been injured, but that there are facts to consider as well, and wonders whether its possible. He agrees to keep a secret, so Ethan tells him that he can change world events and spills everything about it. Morris understands now that Ethan wants to erase this world so that nothing happened to Ben. Since Ethan wants to change everything, Morris compares him to a God. Okay... wow. After Ethan tells him he tried to remove the cause of injuries, Morris replies that it didn't change the fight from occurring in the first place. Ethan now has two ideas. -------------------------------------- |IF YOU REMOVED THE PLIERS IN CHAPTER 2| -------------------------------------- Ethan will be at the Library with Morris. He gets a call from Vin, telling him that Ben's been murdered by someone at Chronos. What?! At this point, you'll be put on the Map. Confirm the Flashback of Jacob and Lucky walking and the Flashback of Sara and Olivia walking. Once done, get over to Chronos. There will be no one there except for Jacob sitting by himself near the wall. Neither Vin or Ben are there. Talk to Jacob, who'll say Lucky's name. Ethan and Morris ask what happened, but Jacob refuses to talk until the two introduce themselves since in this world he never met you. Now you can ask him a few questions: 1. [What are you doing here?] 2. [What happened to the boy with the glasses?] 3. [Where's Lucky now?] He says he was taking a walk with Lucky, his dog. Ben came walking and got mad when he saw Lucky, since he hates dogs apparently. Someone else (Aaron) came out of the cafe and Ben and Aaron started arguing. During the argument, Ben hit his head and didn't move again. Then his friends came and called an ambulance and took him away. Since Lucky got scared, he ran off. Someone calls Ethan. It's Vin. Ben is still unconscious, though alive, at the Central Hospital. Apparently he hit his head on the ground on a rock that just happened to be there and had collapsed by the time Vin got there. Aaron is at the hospital too. Vin then hangs up. Now confirm the Flashback with Emily and Ashley. Go into the Chronos parking lot and you'll be given the option to start a Dig. Do so. Open the Hole at the bottom-middle next to Emily and Ashley's legs and pan a bit to find the rock. Examine the rock to move it and close the Hole. Flashback time! 1) Ben is knocking Aaron to the ground violently. You'll find yourself outside Chronos with Jacob still sitting by the wall, but this time, Vin is holding Ben down and there is a patch of blood to the left and Ben is blaming a dog. Talk to Vin and Ben, Jacob, and examine the patch of blood. Morris will note that Ben's hands are torn up, and it looks like Ben beat up Aaron instead here. Vin and Morris will then sit Ben down. Question time! Talk to Morris: 1. [Did Ben kill somebody?] 2. [What weapon did this?] He doesn't know, but the weapon had to be a rock or something like that. Talk to Ben. 1. [What happened here?] 2. [Did you hit Aaron?] He'll say he didn't, but that Aaron, the guy that Ben fought, was severely injured and breathing as they took him away in an ambulance. According to Jacob, he came out of the cafe and that Ben hit lucky, he thought he was gonna hit Ben, but Aaron interfered with that and Ben grabbed the rock. Ben will deny this. Now, talk to Vin. 3. [What do you think about it?] Vin says it adds up according to Jacob, since Ben disliked Aaron already for being Olivia's boyfriend, which Ben will protest at. Now you can confirm the Flashback of Ben beating up Aaron. Apparently Aaron's dead, and Ben went to turn himself in... oh dear. Morris runs off to search for him, leaving Lucky with Vin. Ethan decides to go with Morris and Vin decides to take Lucky back to Jacob. [Can you keep a secret?] Morris would like a world where Ben is going to be just fine, but that there are facts to consider as well, and wonders whether its possible. He agrees to keep a secret, so Ethan tells him that he can change world events and spills everything about it. Morris understands now that Ethan wants to erase this world so that nothing happened to Ben. Since Ethan wants to change everything, Morris compares him to a God. Okay... wow. Ethan swears he just wants to help Ben, so Morris says they have to do some hunting, to hunt down other points that can be changed. Ethan tells him that he opened a Hole in the Chronos parking lot to try to keep them from being hurt, but it didn't help. Morris replies that it didn't change the fight from occurring in the first place. Ethan has two ideas. ------------------------------------------ |BOTH PLIERS REMOVED AND PLIERS NOT REMOVED| ------------------------------------------ 1. [Keep Aaron from leaving Chronos] 2. [Change Lucky's walking route] Say both of them twice to Morris, who'll shoot them both down. The two then decide to go to where Ethan has had Flashbacks and opened Holes. Now, you have a couple of places to go to. Head to the Chronos parking lot, the Intersection alleyway, Ashley's locker (if you gave her the envelope here), and the school dumpster. Out of ideas, they go to Aeon, where their secret hideout used to be. He'd had a Flashback, but he hasn't opened a hole yet. So the two head on inside and talk a bit... in front of the owner. Right. 1. [Where was Shiloh?] 2. [What day was the typhoon?] Shiloh had been tied to the tree which would have been further in the backroom, and wouldn't have died if the typhoon hadn't hit. Since neither of them know when it was, they do what good students do: go to the Library! Emily and Ashley will be here again, and if you haven't returned the glasses, you'll have another opportunity here. Head inside to look the information up by "event" since you don't know the date it occurred. She'll get you the article. Now you can confirm the Flashback of Shiloh tied to the tree! Head back to Aeon and into the shop. The owner will be reluctant to let you through again, but then agrees to once he realizes you two are from Kako High, which was where he graduated - and Kako High boys look out for one another. Around 20 years ago, and apparently Mr. Twombly was his teacher as well. Wow. Now you're at the spot of the hideout, but before you can open a hole, the shopkeeper comes in and mentions that two girls from Kako were buying a clock in here not that long ago as a birthday present for an upperclassmen - likely Ashley and Emily. (Keep this little fact in mind... unless you've realized it already.) The Pen finally starts to glow. Ethan's about the Dig when Morris pleads with him to help him afterwards - he's gotten a failing grade and wouldn't get able to get into the university that he wants to. Ethan manages to dodge the subject and Digs. Now, dig a Hole around where the rope tying Shiloh is. Use the Pliers that you have to cut the rope and free Shiloh, and close the Hole. Flashbacks! 1) The secret hideout, minus Shiloh. 2) Ben walking Shiloh with Morris and Vin. The Morris near Ethan fades away as the Shopkeeper asks if he's done. Ethan and the Shopkeeper chat a bit and exchange their names and phone numbers. Irving Onegin is the guy's name, eh? Confirm both of the new Flashbacks and head to Chronos and inside. Olivia, Vin, and Ben are all in there, phew. But where's Morris? The group decided to leave, and... is that Morris walking Shiloh? AND HE QUIT SCHOOL?! And opened up a Dog Walking business for himself... well, he's happy at least? Everyone else leaves, and Kori walks up. Oh boy. They talk a bit about how Ethan thinks things changed for the better and how so much changed. Ethan asks who she is, and she admits to knowing his father having a Pen, but doesn't know whether he's alive or not. Nuts. She points out the Pen was his inheritance and Ethan decides to talk to Derek about it... -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- e. Chapter 4: The Day Far Away [TIME8] -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The morning starts off with Derek and Ethan at breakfast and Ethan asks him a few questions. 1. [Did we have any heirlooms?] 2. [Do you know about the Hollow Pen?] Derek seems puzzled by the question of heirlooms, and can't appear to see the Hollow Pen either... or even heard of it. Ask him both questions again. Derek talks about how Timothy was a real pain, and then mentions that his parents had been chasing after an accident around the time Derek was born. In that accident his highschool classmate had lost his mother. The classmate? Irving Onegin. Ethan remembers Irving talking about two girls buying a clock for his birthday. But hadn't that reality been wiped out of existence? Get up to your room and examine the birthday card/cookies. Nope. No clock. Go back downstairs to give Derek Irving's businesscard. Derek gets up, says that Irving has a lot of explaining to do, runs into his study, and then leaves the house. If Irving could remember it, then he should be having Flashbacks too, right? So does he have a Pen? Oh, and it turns out in his rush, Derek forgot to lock the study door, and this is probably Ethan's only chance to check it out. Head inside there. Couple of things of note. A pink cellphone with an animal charm... doesn't that sound familiar? But you can't take it yet. Examining the rightmost bookshelf will locate Timothy's scrapbook with a bit missing. Now examine the drawers underneath the bookshelf to find a note on the Pen. "When the heir turns 17, the Pen gains a new Holder. This is likely because the Pen uses its holder's Time. The holder of the Pen expends some of his or her Time when using it. The same person cannot go on using the Pen indefinitely." Ethan finally deduces that "Time" means "Lifespan", realizing that Irving looks much, much older than Derek, even though they were classmates - possibly because using a Pen shortened his lifespan considerably. His Dad looks older than Derek too... Examine the locked grey cabinet, then take the key from Derek's desk and examine the cabinet again to open it. Ethan finds Derek's Kako High yearbook and takes a peek, since Derek and Irving were in the same class. But on the page with their photos, there's someone else there... Kori! Upon putting it back, Ethan knocks over an hourglass necklace that looks familiar. Leave the study now, and you'll have more Flashbacks! 1) A bus accident somewhere 2) Someone looking out a window at someone falling Right now, you need to go to the library. You'll see Emily there, alone. If you still haven't given her glasses back, you have another chance. Go inside, but Sara won't be there, it'll be someone else instead. Leave the Library. Now go to the Intersection, where you'll find Morrid, Shiloh, and Sara. After Morris convinces Sara that she should hire him to watch her dog sometimes, Sara finally is able to get to the Library and they both leave. Now get back to the Library and talk to Sara inside. Ask her to search by "date" and she'll get the article. According to the article, only three people were on the bus: the driver, Irving, and his mother Mary. Flashback time! But its the same two Flashbacks as last time... what happened? Go confirm the bus crash Flashback. With little else to do, head to Clockwork Hill, where the Pen will glow. Dig here. Open a Hole where the windows of the bus are and Talk. A cutscene will occur of the accident with Mary clinging to Irving as the bus is about to fall. She'll hear Ethan call out to her and look up. When the cutscene ends, Mary will tell Ethan that she's alright. Of course Ethan's first thought was that Mary looked beautiful, and she says that she has a Hollow Pen, explaining why she's able to move. He tells her to get away from the bus. She leaves the bus with Irving, so go close the Hole. But the the Flashbacks that occur are the exact same - Mary dying in a bus accident and someone falling from a roof. And Irving realizes this too. He gets angry, and Derek asks what's wrong. Irving asks Derek whether he told anyone about the bus accident, and Derek admits that he told Ethan, but didn't show him a letter. Derek mentions he's been thinking about the accident and asks about Timothy, but Irving says nothing, as well as nothing about Kori. Derek decides to leave and goes outside the shop. But Kori walks by just then and the two notice each other. Irving then darts outside and drags Kori into the shop and slams the door in Derek's face, saying that it's nothing. Meanwhile, Ethan is starting to feel really worn out, but decides to go check the newspaper again to see what happened. Go to the Library and again ask for the newspaper article from Sara. Nothing changed! (Interestingly enough, you can find Jacob by the school with Lucky. Again, he doesn't know you, but once you introduce yourself to him for the third time, he will mention that he's going to have Lucky washed and groomed before leaving.) Head back to Clockwork Hill, Dig, and open another Hole where Mary is and Talk to her. This time, he tells them to get away quickly instead of chitchatting with her. She does so, so close the Hole. But again, the same flashbacks occur! What's going on?! But Ethan doesn't have much time to ponder as he starts to feel really woozy, so he decides to go home. Meanwhile, Kori and Irving have the Flashbacks as well. Irving flips and yells at Kori whether he saw him looking at him and whether he asked anything. All Kori says was that she heard him wanting to ask Derek about the Pen. When Irving asks her whether she met with "Kairos", she denies it. As for you, head home. Go inside and you'll see Derek. They talk a bit about Derek seeing Irving, and his uncle said that Irving didn't know a thing, before leaving. Ethan decides to go see Irving, so leave the house and go to Aeon. Examine the door to see that its locked. Not much you can do, so go back home. Is that Mr. Twombly outside your house...? Talk to him (no, he won't launch a pop quiz) and he'll ask about Ethan's uncle, who had been a student of his, and whom had sent letters to him around his graduation... which he remembers well,
so he sent him time proverbs back, which resulted in them sending letters back and forth to each other. Odd. After a bit, Mr. Twombly leaves. Head back inside and to your room, where Ethan realizes how cruddy he feels and decides to get some sleep. Next morning, he still feels cruddy, and wonders whether he was using the Pen too much. Leave the room and go to school. In the schoolyard, you'll find Kori. She mentions yesterday's pictures, and asks him whether he killed her. Of course Ethan didn't, he was trying to save her. Ashley and Emily then come up and see them together. Ethan runs off, which causes Emily to start crying. Mentally, Ethan apologizes and promises to listen later. After school, Ethan and Kori are in the hallway again. She suggests trying her way of things - pulling people through a hole from their time into ours. But those who get pulled through a Hole are left out of time - like Kori. He figures out that someone did it, but Kori says it wasn't Irving. Before she could say who, more Flashbacks occur. 1) Derek sitting at Chronos 2) A crime scene with a dead body in a bodybag 3) No one in the Kairos household with Ethan Ethan finds himself in his room, which... seems to have changed yet again. The bedspread is different, the back shelves are a different color, and the right shelf is missing. Go downstairs to realize that Uncle Derek is now gone too. Confirm the empty Kairos household Flashback and leave. Head for Chronos to talk to the owner. Kori is at the front, staring at the Chronos logo, and pleads with him to save Derek. He invites her to come inside, and she agrees. Inside, its just Eva and Aaron. Examine everything and talk to everyone, and Kori will mention that they probably don't hang out here in this time. Ethan asks Eva about Derek. She tells him she got the cafe cheap, since Derek was murdered and no one wanted it. He confirms his identity as Ethan Kairos, Derek's name. As Eva a few questions. 1. [Do you know a Derek Kairos?] 2. [Ask about Uncle Derek's death] Eva will talk about how Derek opened the place up some time back, but no one came. He had gotten involved with loansharks, but somehow payed the money back. He sold the cafe and became a writer. Two years later, Derek was killed, but she doesn't know whom. She never met him, but she does know it was around two years ago when he was killed. Kori then asks about the name, and we learn the etymology of the word, and that Derek had named it. Outside, Kori asks him again to help Derek and leaves. Now, to get more info, where else to go but the library? Head over there. --------------------------------------------------- |IF YOU TOOK EMILY'S GLASSES AND NEVER RETURNED THEM| --------------------------------------------------- Now, if you were a bad boy and never gave Emily her glasses back, Ashley will be alone here. Talk to her, and it turns out that since Emily lost her glasses, she fell on her way buying contacts, and landed in the hospital. Ashley then leaves, saying she's going to apologize to her. Since this is your fault, you'll go to the Chronos parking lot automatically. Dig, open a hole, and use the Glasses item on Emily. Close the Hole. The Flashbacks where Emily didn't have them now have them. You're done here and you have finally returned the Glasses, so head for the Library like you were eventually. ------------------------------------------------- |NEVER TOOK EMILY'S GLASSES / RETURNED THE GLASSES| ------------------------------------------------- Head inside the Library and ask Sara for an article on Derek's murder between 12 and 3 years ago, and she'll give you the Article. After reading it, you can now confirm the crime scene and Ethan will mention he is curious about the memo that was on him. Leave the Library and go to the Station and examine the station to get the choice to go to the murder scene. Go there and you'll be able to Dig there. Open a Hole where Uncle Derek's body is and examine the body to find a memo... which turns out to be the information that Ethan gave Irving that day at the shop! Close the Hole for a Flashback to occur. However, it's the same crime scene. Going back to the School at this point will reveal Mr. Twombly offering himself as a confidant to Ethan, but the other refuses. There is something about that man. Head back home. Ethan will reminisce about Derek and the cafe, deciding that if Derek had been able to make Chronos thrive, then he wouldn't have been murdered. He decides to ask about Chronos the next day. Next day, Ethan goes to Vin and Ben. Confirm the Flashback of Derek at the cafe, and ask them both how to make a cafe popular. Vin will suggest free refills, and Ben will suggest a pretty waitress, giving you the Idea Memo item. Leave and you'll see Mr. Twombly again. You can talk to him, but he has no ideas. Leave the school. You can go right and leave the Idea Memo in a Hole at Chronos, but doing so will cause no changes to occur in the timeline. No changes will occur until you talk to everyone required. Now, from here, you can optionally visit Vin's house and talk to Ashley, who will tell you all about how Vin's old injury had occurred when one of the rungs of the ladder in the secret hideout had broken. When done, continue with the main story. Go to the Library and inside, where you'll find Ben. Upon chatting, he'll talk about his crush on Sara and leave, causing Ethan to reinforce the idea of there being pretty girls. Go to the Park and inside, where you'll find Morris. He'll talk about how atmosphere is important and that it'd be nice if there was a place to study casually. Ethan'll thank him and he'll leave. Finally, go to Chronos itself and inside. The Pen will glow, but... DO NOT START A DIGGING SESSION. Instead, talk to Aaron, who'll say that Eva is the only reason that he comes here, and that female staff members are great. Now leave the cafe and go back inside, where the Pen will glow. This time, start a Digging Session. Open a Hole near the counter where Derek is sitting and at the counter, use the Item "Idea Memo". While leaving it, Ethan notices that someone had been trying to sabotage Chronos, likely Irving. Now close the Hole. Flashback time! 1) Uncle Derek is in the Kairos house 2) Uncle Derek is serving satisfied customers in Chronos You're still at Chronos! Olivia is too, who notices you and calls to her boss - Derek! He gives you some coffee and mentions how great the place is doing. Not only that, but Timothy apparently told him the cafe was doomed to fail, and from what Derek says, Timothy left him a note of ideas which worked (even if it was actually you that did it...) Automatically, Ethan will go home and to his room. Wait a tick. Has your room changed yet again? Before examining anything, verify the two new Flashbacks and then examine your room. Is that... a very fat Sox?! No, it's just a stuffed animal and a birthday card from Derek! At that point someone will call you, that someone being Irving. He warns you to come to the scene of the bus accident tomorrow at 6, or something really bad will happen. No guarantees that bad stuff won't happen anyways, but going will at least give us a chance to stop it, right? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- f. Chapter 5: The Day of Resolution [TIME9] -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (This chapter is pretty long compared to the others.) Ethan arrives on time at Clockwork Hill, where Irving is. He accuses Ethan of constantly killing his mother over and over again, which, of course, you deny. He accuses Ethan's father of sending for her and therefore causing her to get on the bus that caused the accident. He decides to "erase" you and grabs a knife and attacks you! Thankfully, Derek interferes. Seems that he had followed Ethan, thank goodness. He corners Irving, who then admits that he finally did away with your parents, that jerk. However, at that moment, Irving's Pen glows. He opens a hole as Kori runs onto the scene and jumps into it, despite her protests. 1) Shiloh tied to the secret hideout with fire burning the ladder. 2) Ethan walking alone after school... with /Irving/ in the background talking to students? You'll wake up in your room. Lots of things have changed. Kori calls Ethan and asks where he is and to come see her where Aeon was. Wait. Where Aeon /was/? None of the Flashbacks can be confirmed. Go downstairs to talk to Uncle Derek a bit. Apparently he doesn't manage Chronos anymore and is back to being a writer. Derek leaves. Head outside and go to the Vacant Lot. Well... this is where Aeon used to be. Now its gone as if it never existed. Talk to Kori, who looks exhausted. She confesses that Irving tricked her and asks you to save her. Wow. Inside the lot, Kori explains that when she was sixteen, your Dad pulled her through a Hole after she had been pushed off of a roof and ended up three days later. Timothy had promised to set things back the way they were after promising to find a way to keep her from dying, but it never happened. Since Timothy disappeared 12 years ago, Irving approached her and said he would make things right. Instead, he just used her to spy on Ethan. Now, what happened to Irving after he went to the past? He clearly didn't change what Timothy did. But before they talk more, Kori notices a burn on Ethan's hand that hadn't been there before... from the fire at the secret hideout. Ethan had escaped, but had burned himself. Kori realizes that it is wrong - the tree was hit by lightning and toppled over. Irving must have done something. So what about Ben, Vin, and Morris? Ethan decides to go to school to check things out, but Kori can't come since she is no longer a student, as Irving had pulled strings for her to get in. She decides to go see if anything else has been changed. She'll leave. Once done, Ethan will automatically go to the school. Vin, Ben, and Morris are nowhere in the class. Uh oh. Then the teacher walks in but it's Irving! "Irving" chuckles at Ethan, and introduces himself as the English teacher Jack Twombly. But that's not Mr. Twombly! Everyone laughs at Ethan... which meant that "Irving" (let's call him Jack now) is set in this position. That Flashback of "Irving" talking to students now makes sense... it's Jack! Ethan says he's not feeling well, so he runs out of the room. Jack just shrugs and says no one needs Ethan and for the class to take out their books. You'll end up in the Hallway. Head out to the Lockers, and Ethan will check them. Your friends don't have lockers. Crap. Now you can verify the Flashback of Ethan walking alone with Jack talking to students. Go to the schoolyard, where you'll find Emily and Ashley. If you talk to Emily, she'll leave. Talk to Ashley to ask her about Vin. She'll get angry, say that he passed away, and accuse you of asking horrible questions and leave. On the map, go to the Library. Head inside and ask Sara to look up the fire by "event". She'll give you the article. Now you can confirm the Flashback with a fire starting near the secret hideout. Leave the Library and go to the Vacant Lot and inside. The Pen will glow. Open a Hole near the fire. If you spoke to Ashley in Chapter 4 about Vin's injury, you can also examine the rope on the ladder and tighten it, before closing the Hole and opening another. Stamp out the fire and close the Hole More Flashbacks! 1) Emily and Ashley talking outside Chronos. 2) Shiloh tied to the secret hideout before the lightning strike. 3) Emily and Ashley giving Ethan an old-fashioned alarm clock. 4) Morris in the classroom at Kako High. 5) Ashley searching for something in her locker. Ethan'll find himself outside Kako High. As he's pondering, Jack sneaks up and grabs you by the shoulder. He congratulates you for undoing the fire at the lot. Ethan accuses him of starting it, but he says it wasn't, but it was Irving. Wait what? Aren't Jack and Irving the same person...? Kori comes out and asks whether he's Irving. Jack recognizes her, and she deduces that Irving has already vanished. Jack confirms it. Ethan is confused, so in Mr. Twombly fashion, Jack throws a quiz at you. "Imagine I have a million dollars here. What do you think would happen if I sent that million dollars five seconds into the past? Would it double? Or would it vanish completely?" 1. [You'd have two million dollars] 2. [You'd still have one million dollars] 3. [Who knows?] Option 2 is the right answer - since you put it into the past five seconds later, it's going to vanish when it reaches that moment. There will be two million dollars for the five seconds, but once it reaches the fifth second, the "past" million dollars vanishes. The same thing happened to him and Irving. Since Irving reached this point in time, he vanished. Jack is elated that the man who ordered him around is now gone, and couldn't stand having such a close resemblance, and became Mr. Twombly. He's going to prove just how free he is now. He then says he's not done avenging his mother's murder. Apparently Irving wasn't able to save her - she died in another accident not long afterwards. He talks of revenge, and leaves. Ethan and Kori decide to go see what else has changed. First, check out the bunch of Flashbacks. Confirm Ashley and Emily meeting at Chronos, them giving a alarm clock to Ethan, Morris in the classroom, and Shiloh at the hideout. Leave the school and go inside Chronos. Well, there's Vin and Morris! They're fine, at least. But something's up with Ben. Oops. Since Ethan never cut the rope during the typhoon, Shiloh still died and the incident between Ben and Aaron happened. Meanwhile, Jack is plotting. And have a Flashback! 1) No one is at the school classroom. Ethan suddenly finds himself outside the station with Ben and Vin. Crap, now Morris is dead?! Someone apparently killed him right in the classroom. Talk to Ben and Vin and ask each question twice. 1. [Who did it?] 2. [When did it happen?] 3. [Where was he?] No one knows who did it or has any idea. It happened over ten days ago, when Morris was sitting at his own desk. They think its someone from the school, and found him around May 2, meaning he was killed around May 1. Since then, none of them have gone back to Chronos, which meant that Ben never met Aaron - which certainly explains why he's fine. Meanwhile, Jack, who is at Chronos, is up to no good. More Flashbacks! 1) No one outside at the Chronos parking lot. You're suddenly at home. Ben calls, and asks whether they should go over to Vin's place. Apparently now something has happened to Ashley and Emily! Both are now dead, having been beaten black and blue. What a horrible way to go. Well, you can confirm the empty classroom Flashback. Leave the house and go to Vin's House. Talk to both Vin and Ben, then leave. Go to the Vacant Lot and you'll find a detective and two police officers. They had gotten a tip that the killer was nearby. He tells you to move along. Leave and go to the school lockers and talk to the male student there. 1. [Do you know Ashley Threet?] 2. [When was the last time you saw her?] 3. [What was she looking at?] She was in his class, and the last time he saw her was after school the day she was killed, around 4:30. She'd been here, looking at an envelope. Hmm... The student leaves. Now confirm the Flashback of Ashley at her locker, and the Pen will glow. Start a Digging Session and open a Hole around Ashley's locker and Examine is. Ethan writes "Stay away from Chronos. There's a prowler in the area. Make sure Emily knows, too." Now close the Hole. Flashback time! 1) Emily and Ashley outside Chronos 2) Emily and Ashley give Ethan an old-fashioned alarm clock. You end up in your room. He decides to go see what changed. But Jack is back outside Chronos, and does something. Flashback! 1) No one is outside Chronos. And you're back in you're room again. Leave the house and go to Vin's. Talk to him, and he'll ask you whether you killed them?! Of course you didn't, but the police apparently told him that you're a prime suspect because there was writing that "lured her to Chronos"... and that note you left her was in your own handwriting. He says he never wants to see your face again. Vin leaves, saying that if he sees you again he's calling the cops. If you go to the Station, the Park, Chronos, School, or your house, the police will spot you and you'll automatically flee back to the map. If you go to the Vacant Lot and talk to the Detective, he'll ask about the note on the envelope. You'll automatically flee. Head for the Library. Outside, you'll see Emily. Talk to her. She's afraid of you since she thinks you're the killer, so Ethan keeps his distance. She tells him that Ashley showed up at Chronos and that someone, supposedly you, stabbed her to death, and that the police have evidence. He asks Emily whether Ashley had her phone, and she says no, she'd dropped it somewhere. Emily then flees. Go to the School to find Kori. Ethan wants to keep them alive but believes he can't, so Kori gives him a pep talk. Jack wants Ethan to give up, and Ethan shouldn't let him get away with this. You'll automatically go to the lockers. You explain about the envelope, which Ashley never dropped since she never bumped into a student named Kori. Kori wants to call them and tell them to go elsewhere, but Ashley had lost her phone. He then remebers the cellphone in Derek's study, and the two decide to go get the phone. Leave the school and go to Ethan's house. She distracts the police so that you can run inside. You find Derek, who asks whether you did anything. You deny it, and Derek decides he's going to give you the benefit of the doubt. What an awesome uncle. Ethan asks for the cellphone, and Derek realizes that you were snooping in his study. Oops. He doesn't seem to upset, so he goes and gets the phone for you. Leave to find Kori. Head to the school now and to the lockers. Start a Digging Session here. Open a Hole around Ashley's locker and leave the cellphone there. At the same time, he writes a message on the envelope telling her that he would like some cookies as extra persuasion. Now close the Hole. 1) Ashley and Emily baking cookies 2) Ashley and Emily giving Ethan cookies. Ethan finds himself outside the station. Kori calls and asks how it went. She reminds him that they can't go to the place that Aeon used to be because of a serial killer. Confirm the two (new if you got the birthday card) Flashbacks. Now head for the Vacant Lot. Yay, the police are gone! Head inside the Lot and start a Dig. Open a Hole near the rope with Shiloh, and use the Pliers to cut them. Morris will become a high school dropout, but he'll be alive, at least. Close the Hole. 1) No one at the secret hideout. 2) Ben walking Shiloh with Morris and Vin near them. Ethan finds himself at Chronos with Vin and Ben. The phone rings. It's Kori. She asks if everything went back to normal. Jack's still up to no good, and that using the Pen so much will lead to nothing good for Jack though. She then hangs up. Ben and Vin tease Ethan about having a girlfriend before Ethan leaves - oh, it's Morris with Shiloh! Phew. Morris decides to go finish Shiloh's walk and then leaves. Of course then Jack walks up to him. Ethan tells him to stop and asks if all of these innocent people deserved to be miserable. Jacks says yes, and leaves. Confirm the two Flashbacks that occurred and head home and go inside to where Uncle Derek is. Ethan decides to ask him a few things. Ask each question twice. 1. [Do you know Irving?] 2. [Do you know Jack?] 3. [Do you know Kori?] When asked about Irving, Derek asks if you know him, but since his shop is gone, you say you don't know where he is. When asked about Jack, he confirms his identity as your homeroom teacher. When asked about Kori, you hit the jackpot, though. He seems shocked and asks how you found out, to which you confess about the yearbook. He praises your detective skills and then wonders about her. At night, Jack goes to the station with a letter going to the mailbox. Meanwhile Ethan asks Derek about the bus accident and to peek at the letter that was from the bus accident. Derek gives the letter. The letter is to Mary Onegin, asking her to get on that particular bus to meet Timothy. There was a dead-end; no one knows who sent that letter. Jack opens a Hole and puts the letter in the mailbox, and leaves. Flashback time again! 1) Derek is trapped in an explosion 2) No one is in the Kairos house You wake up in your room, but its changed. Confirm the flashback of living alone and then go to the living room. Crap, Uncle Derek's dead - again! Leave the house and go to the Library and inside. Kori's there. She did some research on the flashback with Derek. It was a gas explosion at a restaurant called Eterna Grill. Supposedly it happened, but no one should have died there, which means that Jack lured Derek to the restaurant. Confirm the Flashback of Derek at the explosion. Since Derek's still alive in that Flashback, you can rescue him! Leave the Library and go to the Eterna Grill. Jack doesn't seem to be around, so they're safe. Since you didn't see the Flashback of Jack sending the letter, you can't stop that. Talk to Kori, and she'll give you her idea: Ethan opens the Hole, she goes in and moves Derek away from the site, and then comes back. She should be fine since she's already out of the flow of time. Open a Hole where Derek is and Look into it. Kori goes in, and while Ethan waits for her, he realizes that they (Derek and her) must have liked each other back then. Meanwhile, Kori moves Derek away and slips a letter in his pcket, asking him not to die and to meet again someday. She then comes back through the Hole. Close it. Four Flashbacks. This time, one in particular should have grabbed the attention of everyone. 1) No one at the gas explosion 2) Derek at the Kairos house 3) Derek finding himself in the street where Kori left him 4) Timothy looking at a dead Pamela in the gas explosion Ethan is shocked and tells Kori that those were his parents. Since they already know the time and place, they should be able to rescue them, right? Confirm the four Flashbacks and you can start a Dig. Once you're ready, start it. But before Ethan can start it, Jack appears behind Ethan with a knife... and stabs him in the leg! Ethan tells Kori to run, but she doesn't. Jack kicks her as she shields Ethan, and tells her that if she doesn't cooperate, she's gonna be in a world of pain. Before he could kick her again, someone interferes. It's Derek! He's holding Jack back, and came here because he had had plans to meet someone here twelve years ago. Kori checks up on Ethan again, and Derek agrees to hold him down. Ethan asks Kori to help him open the Hole, and the two hold hands. Start a Dig and open a Hole near the entrance and select Talk. Derek holds Jack back. Cutscene time! It's the cutscene from the beginning, and Timothy hears Ethan calling to him from the Hole, telling him to go over there. He takes Pamela into the Hole and the two find themselves in the present! Timothy asks where he is, then sees Ethan's injuries before realizing that it's Ethan. Kori by then finally stopped the bleeding, so Ethan can stand. Timothy recognizes Kori, and confirms that Pamela is fine. Now close the Hole. 1) No one is at the Eterna Grill explosion. Pamela wakes up and Tim tells her that they were rescued. She's relieved, but notices that Ethan is injured and asks whether he's okay. Ethan however seems distressed - he can no longer see the Pen. And neither can Timothy. Uh oh. Jack laughs, and says they can no longer see the Pen because Timothy was pulled through a Hole and therefore doesn't qualify - and by default, Ethan doesn't qualify, just like Irving. Jack breaks free from Derek and runs towards Ethan to stab him, but Kori goes between them and Jack accidentally stabs her instead. Cutscene! She swears not to let Jack get his own way. She says she'll be fine because Ethan will save her, and disappears from existence, dropping the necklace. Derek picks the necklace up and explains that he told Kori he wanted to create a cafe, and she suggested naming it Chronos, and that the necklace was the same logo as Chronos because he gave it to her as thanks. As this happens, Jack flees the scene and then Derek chases him. Ethan talks to his parents, and Timothy picks him up. Ethan notices that he can see the Pen. Timothy asks who cares about the Pen when he's hurt. Pamela had called an ambulance. Ethan wants to go after Jack, and though they protest, they eventually agree. At Clockwork Hill, Derek is still chasing Jack, who uses his Hollow Pen to freeze time. Ethan and his parents arrive just then. Jack starts to write a Hole but Ethan runs towards him and tackles him, making him drop the Pen and go over the cliff. Ethan manages to grab him before he falls. Timothy reaches over to grab his hand, but before he could, the glove Jack is wearing slips off in Ethan's hand, revealing scars, and Jack falls down the cliff. Well, that's the end of him, supposedly... -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- g. Chapter 6: The Final Day [TIMEA] -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ethan wakes up at a hospital with Pamela near him. Jack has gone missing, but it's likely he's gone. Good riddance. Timothy was talking to Derek. Pamela says that he should rest and that he seems to have really aged physically. After that she gives Ethan some tomato soup. He drinks it, and unlike the beginning of the game, it's really rich! She explains that Timothy likes it strong, but maybe she could tone the flavor down just a bit at Ethan's suggestion. Hmm... this seems suspicious. A few days later, Ethan and his parents sit in their study, discussing the Pen. Apparently Timothy had told Derek about the Pen, which is hard not to believe considering the situation, and all of them theorize that Timothy can't use the Pen because he can't use up Time on this side. Ethan promises to fix everything. First things first, confirm the gas explosion flashback. Talk to your parents. They'll reveal that Sox actually went through a Hole himself at one point, and Pamela worries a bit about your younger self, whom they left behind. Examine the Flashback of somebody falling outside a window. Is it when Timothy saved Kori? Talk to Timothy again. 1. [So Kori was in an accident?] 2. [Where did you pull Kori through?] 3. [Why did you pull Kori through?] Timothy mentions when the accident was and what happened, and that he'd pulled her through Kako High Classroom 3-B. But the "why" is the kicker: for Derek. In a world where he didn't and Kori fell to her death, Derek committed suicide after class. Derek had had a thing for Kori, and Ethan decides to help her. Now check the Flashback and confirm it. Leave the house and go to the School. Head inside to find Vin and talk to him. Head inside to the lockers, and to go to Class 3-B, head the way you would to go to the Hallway and select "Do it". The Pen will glow, so start a Dig. Open a Hole just underneath where you see Kori and Look at her. Ethan will wonder how to save her before realizing he has to pull her through, which he will do. Now close the Hole. Flashback! 1) The school lockers, but they look different and the area is empty. Kori wakes up, realizing that she fell, and Ethan tells her that he saved her. She doesn't recognize him - because this Kori never went through everything that the other Kori did. He introduces himself, making her realize he's a relative of Derek's. At the house, Derek gives Kori some coffee, who recognizes Derek and realizes she's in the future. Timothy asks her who pushed her off, but she has no idea since it happened too fast. Rats. But she does reveal that whoever it is would have a nasty scrape on their hand, since she scratched hard enough to reveal blood... a mark like Jack/Irving's? Kori says its plausible; after being assigned to clean up a room together, he became infatuated with her and wouldn't leave her alone, even after she admitted she liked somebody else. She never told Derek because she didn't want him to go after him. Apparently Kori resembles Irving's mother, and that was why according to Irving she should have liked him back. Derek asks how he knew she looked like his mom, since his mom was dead. This confuses Kori, who says that Irving's mother is alive and that she saw her. But wait a second, weren't Ethan and Irving never able save Irving's mother because she would always die regardless? You'll be given a question. "When did Mary Onegin die?" 1. [In the bus accident 35 years ago] 2. [After Kori saw her] 3. [She's still alive] Option 2 is correct. One more question. "Why did Kori see Mary?" 1. [Mary was still alive] 2. [Kori saw a ghost] 3. [It was a case of mistaken identity] The conversation for option 2 is funny, but the correct answer is option 1. Mary was still alive, which means outside interference occurred afterwards, in which someone got her involved in that bus accident in the past and tried to get Derek and Ethan's parents in the explosion. So someone must have known about the bus accident and sent her there. Last question. "So which past needs to be corrected?" 1. [In the bus accident 35 years ago] 2. [The arson at the secret hideout] 3. [Luring Mary to the accident at the past] Option 3 is right. Getting rid of the bus accident won't help - you already tried that several times. They have to focus on where someone got Mary into the accident and stop them. Ethan has no idea who, but he tells him about the letter she got, asking her to go see him, and she ended up in the accident during that. Derek still has the letter, so he goes to get it. Timothy tries to make it easier for Pamela, but she's taking it all in stride. Awesome mom. She also says that she gave him the book "The Mystery of Parallel Worlds" which Morris had suggested Ethan read a long time ago. Derek comes back with the letter and gives it to Ethan. Derek and Kori then go into the study. Look at the Flashback of the school lockers, and then head to the school to the lockers. Derek and Kori were both students, so maybe slipping a young Derek a note to Irving's mother would work. Of course you can't do that yet, so head back home and inside. Ethan asks Timothy about the date, which he tells him. Now go into the study and talk to Derek. He forgot his student number, but Kori will remember and tell you. Now confirm the Flashback! Off to school and the locker room! Ethan writes a note to Derek. Start a Dig. Draw a Hole near the leftmost lockers around the middle row and leave the Memo to Mary "Item" there. Now close the Hole and look at the Flashback. 1) Derek reading the memo. Well he read it... but did he give it to her? Let's ask Derek! Confirm the Flashback and head home. Go into the study and talk to Derek. Sadly, he doesn't remember much - he figures he read it, thought it was a prank, and threw it away. Not much you can do here. Leave and go to Chronos and inside, where your friends are. The group will chat a bit. Vin apparently received a loveletter from a girl that he had never met, so he threw it away. Ben considers it extremely cold, and Vin admits that he wouldn't have thrown it away from someone he knew. This gives Ethan an idea - maybe Derek would listen to a note from someone he likes. So go back home and talk to Kori, and she'll write the note to Mary. Derek agrees that it would work. Head back to the lockers at the School, Dig, and open a Hole at Derek's locker again and leave the Memo. Close the hole. Flashbacks! Two of them! 1) Derek reading the memo 2) A woman, likely Mary, reading the memo outside the station Go home and talk to Uncle Derek. Since it was in Kori's handwriting, he has a memory of taking the memo and giving it to Irving's mom on a specific day. Check the Flashback, and since there's a clock too, you can confirm it! Whoo~. Now leave the house and go to the Station. The Pen will glow. Start a Dig and open a Hole around where Mary is and Talk to her. She remembers you, oddly enough, from when you saved her on the bus. She talks about Timothy a little bit and deduces that he's his son. She deduces that the note was from you, and that he knows Kori and Irving. He tells her that Irving pushed Kori off the roof. Mary then says that if he doesn't push her off a roof, he stabs her, and if he doesn't stab her, he hits her with a rock - essentially that no matter what she does, he kills her. Ethan tells her that Kori is on this side for now. He promises to keep her safe, but Mary says she considers herself responsible - revealing that she was the one fiddling with the past so that she died in that bus accident by writing the letter telling young Mary to see Timothy. Holy crap. Mary closes the Hole, giving two familiar Flashbacks... 1) The bus accident 2) Kori falling off a roof Ethan is still at the station; he realizes that Mary keeps getting in that accident because whenever its undone, she comes to this realization and undoes what has happened, which overwrites what Ethan or Irving did. Confirm the Flashback of Kori falling off the roof. Go back home and talk to Timothy. He'll say that he told everything to Derek (again since it technically never happened now). Try to enter the study to have Ethan talk to Derek, who comes out. He knows that Ethan is trying to save Kori. They could pull her through yet again, but it's not permanent. Logical thinking time! "What led to Mary's suicide?" 1. [Skyrocketing debts] 2. [Irving's obsession with Kori] 3. [An Onegin-Kairos feud] Option 2 is the correct one - she did it because Irving kept killing Kori no matter what she did. "How can we prevent Mary's suicide?" 1. [Keep Irving away from Kori] 2. [Pull Irving through to this side] 3. [Pull Mary through to this side] Option 1 is the right one! You need to find a good way to keep Irving from killing Kori without pulling her through the Hole. "And if Mary doesn't kill herself?" 1. [Irving and Kori will become friends] 2. [Irving will leave the Kairos family alone] 3. [Irving will grow up spoiled] Option 2 this time. Irving would have no reason to "avenge her murder" and he'd stop going after Ethan's parents. "So if Irving leaves the Kairos family alone..." 1. [Mom and Dad won't be in that explosion] Bingo! Since they'll never be in the explosion, Ethan's parents here must be living in the past. You have to find a way to get Irving to completely give up on Kori. He explains his logic to his parents and Derek, and Derek says that he will do it - he'll go into the Hole and protect Kori, which will put everything back where it belongs. After awhile, Ethan agrees. Leave the House and go to the School and to Classroom 3-B. Start a Dig. Open the Hole where Kori is and use the Item "Derek" on her. Timothy and Ethan will put Derek in a position where he's holding Kori as she's falling in mid-air and Ethan and his parents will comment on how lovely it is. Before they can close the Hole, Jack runs up behind them, battered. He refuses to let them do that, and runs to stab Ethan again, but this time Timothy gets in between them and gets stabbed in the chest, but if Ethan closes the Hole, the pain will go away. Jack tries to stop Ethan, but both Timothy and Pamela hold him down. Close the Hole. Jack will be wiped out of existence. Cutscene. Kori is pushed by Irving and scratches him. She starts to fall, but a time hole appears with Derek there, who catches her. She regains her senses long enough to see it was Irving, as both Kori and adult Derek land on the ground. Kori is fine and gets up as young Derek appears. Adult Derek tells his younger self to take care of Kori forever. He smiles at Kori and falls unconscious. Flashbacks! 1) Irving and Mary leaving town 2) Ethan's normal room from before anything happened 3) Derek and a familiar woman working at Chronos 4) Olivia avoiding the accident on her bike 5) Vin, Ben, and Morris at Chronos 6) Ethan at home with his parents, showing them a watch in a catalogue Ethan finds himself sitting at his table with his parents. He tells his parents that they look old. Timothy asks if he's back from "far, far away", and Ethan says yes. Yay! He starts crying and Timothy welcomes him home while Pamela seems to think its something else, though she looks rather emotional... They're finally back~! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- h. Epilogue: A New Day Dawns [TIMEB] -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Two days later, you'll get a letter: "Dear Ethan. I've decided to write you a letter. It'll be the first and the last one you'll get from me. If what you say is true, I won't be around when you get this. I've been watching over her from afar for a long time now. I think she'll be all right. Irving and his mom left town and never came back. Now Kori's living happily ever after with the other me and their (our?) daughter. Let me thank you again, Ethan. Sending me into the past, helping her get her future back- it's all thanks to you. I'm so grateful. No one knows what you've done, but this is one guy who can never forget. And I'll always remember that you liked her, too. ...That's all, I guess. Give my best to your parents. Take care- Derek." Game's not over just yet! First, go and take a look at all of the Flashbacks that you have and confirm every single one of them. When done, let's go poking around everywhere and talking to people: Library - Sara Vacant Lot - Eva Vin's House - Ashley and Emily Park - Jacob and Lucky Chronos - Aaron, Olivia, Vin, Ben, and Morris School - Mr. Twombly When you're done, head to the school dump and start a Dig to place the watch and the letter. Open a Hole on top of the trash bags where you found it and place it there. Now close the Hole. Ethan will automatically go inside his room. He'll attach a note to Sox's collar and decide to send the Hollow Pen back to himself by opening a Hole where he was sleeping. For a slightly altered ending, don't Dig. Go outside to find Sox. Now leave your house and head to the Library (where Emily will tell you about a cat there), the Vacant Lot (where Eva interacts with him), Vin's House (where Ashley will tell you about Sox being there), and the Park (where Aaron is calling to Sox). Go in Chronos and your friends will arrive from taking Shiloh over to Morris. They'll also say they saw the cat from Chronos near Morris's house. Geez! They talk about Sox being everywhere, and have conflicting accounts. When done, go back to your room. Ethan will tell Sox not to wander around so much - but the window's closed! Sox couldn't have escaped! When ready, Dig. Open a Hole by Ethan's head, which turns out to be the Hole you saw at the beginning of the game. Ethan attaches the Pen to Sox's collar and sends Sox through the Hole to young Ethan, who goes through. If you chose to see all of the scenes with Sox, a voice (likely Sox) will thank you as Sox goes through. Sox will interact with past-Ethan, who will close the Hole using the Pen. Again, if you chose to see Sox around town, the voice will wish you luck as you wish the younger Ethan luck. Credits! Afterwards, Ethan will find himself at school with Ashley calling to him. Ashley, Emily, and a familiar looking girl run up to Ethan. In a cutscene, Ethan starts - the last girl looks like Kori (though its likely Kori and Derek's daughter, not Kori herself). -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- i. Alternative Walkthrough (New Game+ only) [TIMEC] -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This path can only be accessed if you have beaten the main walkthrough and saved your game. The game will start off as normal: Ethan has been scratched by Sox, whom he had been trying to give a bath. Just like last time, examine everything in the room and try to leave. Once you have done everything, Pamela will call you down for dinner. Tap the button to leave the room. Unlike last time though, Sox will open a window and run off, and you are given two choices of what to do. 1. [But it's dinner time!] 2. [I should see what he's up to.] Selecting the first one will simply start the main walkthrough over again, so go and select the second option to follow Sox. After the introductory cutscene plays and the chapter title is introduced, you and Sox will see someone prowling about the house... someone very familiar if you've played the main walkthrough. A question and two options will be presented. "Do I know this man?" 1. [Not at all] 2. [Sure I do] Select option 2. Irving will ask how Ethan knows him, and Ethan admits he has memories of him and says that he knows what he is up to. Irving will ask what he is talking about and Ethan will mention the Hollow Pen and say again that he knows what Irving will do, which Irving will ask Ethan. "What will Irving do next?" 1. ["Erase" Mom and Dad] 2. [Go out for dinner] 3. [Play with Sox] Select option 1. Ethan will accuse him of that. Irving will laugh and then ask what Ethan's going to do about it, since he doesn't have the Pen. "What are my options?" 1. [Talk Irving out of it] 2. [Take Sox and go home] Select option 1 again. Ethan will ask Irving to just wait one day and that he knows why Irving's mother died and how to save her. After a bit, Irving will agree to let Ethan off for one day, and then walks off, wondering whether he is an idiot. Ethan grabs Sox and goes home to find Derek and Timothy arguing about money like they did before, but he tells them that he has something to tell them. They talked until morning about everything, and hatched up a plan. Next morning, you'll automatically find yourself in Class 3-B, where Derek is planning to jump out into the Hole to save Kori, just like he did last time. Timothy talks about how he is going to open a hole, and that his father could see the Pen when they inherited it, so both Timothy and Ethan should be able to use the Pen. The game will ask whether you want to start a Digging session. Select "Yes". Open the hold around where Kori is falling. Tap Kori, select "Item", and select "Derek", and tap Kori again. Ethan and Timothy put Derek through the hole to where Kori is. Timothy passes the Pen to Ethan and freezes in time. Once you have control, close the hole. Flashbacks occur indicating that everything has ended just as it did in the main walkthrough, with Irving and Mary leaving town, Ethan's room back to normal, Olivia avoiding her accident, etc, and the credits roll. After the credits, watch the modified ending. Ethan will wake up to find Sox standing on his chest, comment on how heavy he is, and then be called by his mother to go to school. Not much of an ending, but it is for lazy people, right? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- j. Optional Parts [TIMED] -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ |Changing Ben and Aaron's Fight| ------------------------------ When starting a Dig to take Olivia's bike key to prevent her from being in the accident, you have the opportunity to take the pair of pliers lying on the ground at the bottom of the screen behind the brick wall. Taking these alter what happens in the fight between Ben and Not taking the pliers: 1) Ben kills Aaron with pliers 2) Aaron beats Ben up Taking the pliers: 1) Ben hits his head on a rock 2) Ben kills Aaron with a rock ------------------------ |Stealing Emily's Glasses| ------------------------ When starting a dig to take Olivia's bike key to prevent her from being in the accident, you have the opportunity to take Emily's glasses from her face as well. From then on, everytime you see her, you'll be given the option to give the glasses back in person. If you don't, during the Chapter 4 events while in the timeline where Derek is dead, Ashley will tell you that Emily hurt herself on her way to get contacts, causing you to automatically go back to Chronos. Start a Dig there and give the glasses back and it will be as if she never lost them and you can continue the chapter. ----------------------- |Preventing Vin's Injury| ----------------------- In Chapter 4, while gathering ideas to make the cafe popular, go to Vin's House and talk to Ashley, who'll tell you about Vin's injury when he was younger preventing him from playing basketball. When you start the Dig to free Shiloh, you can also tie the rope on the ladder to make it more sturdy, altering the timeline so that Vin is able to play basketball. ---------------------- |Seeing Sox around Town| ---------------------- Before opening the Hole in Ethan's room, cancel the Dig and go around town, searching for Sox. After finding him practically everywhere, go back Home and start the Dig. This changes the ending only very slightly so that someone called "???" (most likely Sox) will thank Ethan as Sox enters the Hole. ================================================================================ Characters [TIMEE] ================================================================================ ------------ |Ethan Kairos| ------------ That's me.
