Another year, another Pokemon game. It really is the Little Series That Could, and by little I of course mean a colossal steamrolling juggernaut that has captivated the imaginations of the young and young at heart all over the world since 1997. It really is an impressive thing. It's also insured that Satoshi Tajiri and his next of kin for the next 90 generations will live the life of Saudi Arabian oil tycoons, possibly in their penthouse on Mars or wherever insanely rich people like to get away from it all when life on Terra Firma becomes too chaotic. So yeah, Pokemon Platinum. It's the upgraded version of Diamond and Pearl released in Japan back in 2006, and, like all upgraded versions of Pokemon games it has its share of re-adjustments and changes. While not nearly as complete an overhaul as a straight-up sequel, it does make enough of an impact on basic gameplay that you know this isn't the same 'ol song and dance. Graphics are tweaked, sprites replaced, the hero gets a new outfit but still has all the personality of a pet rock. Of course, one of the bigger changes is always the movesets; those little additions to a Pokemon's power pool that make them just that much more interesting (read: usable). Not to mention showing that Game Freak has in fact not forgotten about some of them no matter how long they go without an evolution of any sort of virtual lovin'. The point of this guide is to show you, reader and future Pokemon Master, just what changes took place in the move from D/P to... well, P again I guess. If "01" is used, it means the Pokemon begins with this move right from the get-go, no matter when you obtain them.
