This one covers the Nintendo DS game Math Play. Math Play is your typical mathematics-based edutainment game, focused on teaching youngsters the very basics of math. ... These can include division by zero (7 ÷ 0), problems resulting in negatives (3 - 9), and any problem resulting in a non-whole number answer (7 ÷ 5). ---------------- Equal Drill Mode ---------------- In this game, you will be given a number of cards. Your goal is to rearrange them so that they show an equally balanced equation when one card is flipped. You will tap a card to flip it and reveal the equals sign; drag the cards to rearrange them; and tap "DONE" to complete the level. Here are some examples. ~ Given : 1 3 2 4 + ~ Solution: Flip "2"; rearrange to show "1 + 3 = 4" ~ Given : 2 6 4 - 2 ~ Solution: Flip a "2"; rearrange to show "6 - 4 = 2" ~ Given : × 2 5 6 3 ~ Solution: Flip "5"; rearrange to show "2 × 3 = 6" ~ Given : 1 2 1 2 ÷ ~ Solution: There are two solutions to this one, actually. #1 - Flip a "1"; rearrange to show "2 ÷ 2 = 1" #2 - Flip a "1"; rearrange to show "2 ÷ 1 = 2" ------------------ Equal Shuffle Mode ------------------ This sort of is like "math dominoes". In it, you will place cards on a board to make true math statements (such as "2 + 3 = 5") in a straight line. It is only at an equals sign that turning can occur. (The example below probably is more helpful.) Note that you cannot use three sequential multiplication problems if they involve zero, by the way (i.e. 3 × 5 × 0); the same goes for division. To do this, first tap beside the tile with which you want to equal an equation. For example, I want to set "2 + 3" somewhere, so I'll tap beside "5" in a way that doesn't conflict with numbers nearby (you cannot have two cards next to each other in a way that forms a 2×2 square). Next, drag an equal sign from your hand (tap a card to make one) and put it in the top, empty row. Then drag cards next to it as appropriate - if the card is to the right of the square you tapped, the equal sign must at the left, for example. Then tap "DONE". If you cannot make anything, first "DRAW" and, if you still cannot do anything, you can pass. Also note that, if an equals sign has two open sides, you can only fill it in by putting a number equal to itself (1 = 1, 2 = 2, etc.). The first to get rid of all their cards wins. Example: 5 + 3 1 8 2 + 3 = 5 + 0 = 5 × 1 = 5 ÷ 1 3 6 8 4 = 2 + 2 = 4 + 0 3 9 × - 2 1 ---------------- Equal Match Mode ---------------- In this game, you are given an equal sign and a card. You need to do something to match it: you can play an equal equation, a card of a differing color but same value, or a card of a differing value but same color. If this card is a mathematical symbol, then you can only use the latter two of these options. To achieve this, drag from your large hand panel to the smaller equation panel. If you think it is right, opt to say you're "DONE". If you have nothing that seems to work, use "DRAW", then, if still nothing, you can "PASS". The game ends when the winner gets rid of all their cards. Please note that you cannot use three sequential multiplication problems if they involve zero, by the way (i.e. 3 × 5 × 0); the same goes for division. There are also wild cards which can function as any color and any desired mathematical symbol or number. Note that these multicolor "free cards", though, cannot be used with any other card or to end the game. Example: = 9 -> = 9 + 0 -> = 0 -> = 0 × 9 -> = 9 ÷ 1 -> = 4 ÷ 4 [start] [0 on top] [color change] [9 on top] [1 on top] [4 top] --------------- Equal Nine Mode --------------- In this mode, you will see two numbers in a blackjack fashion - one shown, one hidden (to the others, but you can "see" it). This shown card is a base card for your calculations. You also want to configure an equation on the Touch Screen to make this base card, when used in it, equal as close to nine as possible. The closer you are, the more points you'll earn. Whoever reaches the preset number of points will win. Note that you have to use every number card in your hand. If you want to "HIT", you can get one more number card, but you must also use it. You will get one of each symbol during each hand. Examples: ~ Given : 5 ~ Given : 6 ~ Possible: 5 + 2 ~ Possible: 6 - 1 ~ Given : 9 ~ Given : 8 ~ Possible: 9 × 1 ~ Possible: 8 ÷ 1 ~ Given : 5, 4 (hit) ~ Given : 6, 7 (hit) ~ Possible: 5 + 4 - 0 ~ Possible: 7 - 4 + 6 ~ Given : 4, 2 (hit) ~ Given : 3, 6 (hit) ~ Possible: 4 × 2 + 1 ~ Possible: 6 ÷ 3 + 7 O=============================================================================O | This is the end of KeyBlade999's | | FAQ for the Nintendo DS game | | Math Play. | O=============================================================================O ________________ | ____________ | | | | | | | | | | |____________| |________________________________________ | |____________| |_________________________ | | | | | | |\ /\ /| | | | | | | | \ / \ / | | | |____________| | | | (_) (_) | | |________________| |_| |_| ___ ___ ___ /'__`\ /'__`\ /'__`\ /\ \_\ \ /\ \_\ \ /\ \_\ \ \ \___, \ \ \___, \ \ \___, \ \/__,/\ \ \/__,/\ \ \/__,/\ \ \ \_\ \ \_\ \ \_\ \/_/ \/_/ \/_/ KeyBlade999
