This game is the best I've played yet. Lost Magic uses the touch screen to draw runes while acting as the main field. The sprites are cute and appealing. The added Wi-Fi feature allows players from all over the world battle against each other. What more can you ask from a Warcraft-like game with Wi-fi Battlenet? A glimpse from the manual of the storyline: This is a story of the age ushered in by the passing of the Great Creator, divine architect of our world. The people were long protected by the Six Forms of Magic and the Seven Wands left to them by the Creator. The wielders of magic, Magicians, maintained law and order. The Seven Wands were entrusted to seven especially powerful Magicians, called Sages, and passed down from one generation to the next. Thus the power of the Creator was kept safe, and the many benefits of magic made the people's lives rich and easy. In this way, a thousand years of golden, blessed peace continued across the world. But a fateful event was to forever change the world. The Diva of Twilight, a Sage and keeper of the Wand of Balance, lost all hope in those she was charged to protect, the people. Disillusioned and angry, she called forth monsters - terrible creatures from another realm - into the world. The death knells of the golden age tolled across the land as the monsters ravaged towns and killed wantonly. Many of the other Sages, the defenders of the people, succumbed to the power of the Diva. Hope, now little more than a flickering candle, was about to burn out completely. Then, A Youth By The Name Of Isaac... Isaac, a 14-year-old boy separated from his parents amid the chaos enveloping the world, is found by a venerable Magician who lives deep in the old forest. Taking him as her student, the Magician begins the boy's training in magic. Not long afterward, Isaac's father appears before him in the forest. Without saying a word he hands Isaac a Wand and then is gone. "What did father want to say to me?" Isaac wonders. His desire to find his father is about to spark a great adventure! For this is the story of hope, however small, in a world ravaged by despair. There is an guide on the basics and the whole features of the game, which I will not elaborate on. This guide is dedicated to those avid dragon catchers! _________________________________ [LMD2] How To reach the Dragons | _________________________________| The dragons can only be fought and captured on the good path, which is access when the Diva asks for your wand. By giving it to her you open the good path. In order to access the dragons, you must defeat the 4 Sages (General of Gravel Sands, Lord of the Summer Haze, Mist Master and Trista). Once again, there are many helpful information on the board for these fights, and therefore I shall not elaborate. The location of the dragons are as follows: Water Dragons: It is north of the Silverspeak Gorge map where you fight the Mist Master and south of the Blazing Lake map where you fight the Lord of the Summer Haze. Wind Dragons: It is west of where you fight Trista and east of the Dunesand area, Fire Dragons: It is noth of the Blazing Lake map where you fight the Lord of the Summer Haze. Earth Dragons: It is on a small island south of the place where you fight the General of Gravel Stones. Light Dragon: It is found south of the first map from Runedolf of the White Chalk Temple and north of the first City of Ruins map from Runedolf. Shadow Dragon: It is found north of the map before you find the Trio runes (or fighting Leonard). It is important you retrive the Trio runes first before you set out to find these dragons. It is also said that you may find the lvl6 of any item (Dragon Scale,Demon Horn, Life Bracelet, Gale Shoes, Iron Shield, Wind Shield and Hunter Eye) in one of these maps, although I have gotten these from the Sage fights before. ________________________________ [LMD3] How to fight the dragons | ________________________________| Most people have man difficulties with the dragons, so here is some ways to defeat them. The defination of the format is as follows: (-Dragon Name-) (-Monster Requirements-) (-Essential Info-) (-Method-) (-Useful Tips-) [If any] There are many possible methods for defeating the dragons. I will list the most straightforward (althought not the easiest) method. Also remember that the Dogbox/Boxdog are hit by the ranged attacks, so I don't suggest bringing them in. --------------------- Hydro Dragon [LMD3.1] --------------------- Monsters Required: Normal set (Dogbox/Boxdog useful) --------------------------------- Essential Info: You'll be mass casting "explosion" rune here, so master drawing that rune. Also, do not bring any fire-shooting monsters (Runemander) as they can destroy the ice blocks that prevent the dragons from attacking you. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Method: It is simple really. Monster rush the Jetverns in the middle while casting Explosion to kill the dragons. The tip here is to cast Haste spells (Light2+ wind1/2) to move quickly around the group of dragons. For the upper two groups, you might need to cast Fire2+Fire3 to be able to hit the third dragon. If you want to save time, get a group of powerful monsters to take out the third dragon while you advance to the next group, saving time and precious mana. Do not hesitate in this level as if you do, you will be wasting time. Even though the method sounds easy, you move slowly in water, so teleport spells will be useful (Wind3X3). ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Useful Tips: 1) Try to have Fire at level 4 or 5, so that it costs less to use explosion. 2) For the top two, try to get to the gap below the ice. Its easier to hit all 3 with explosion. 3) Alternatively, you can use Ice2+Fire1/2/3, as it also causes lave. I don't suggest this for those dragons in water, but the last group of dragons are okay. 4) Capture one from the first group as its the easiest. ------------------- Gale Dragon [LMD3.2] ------------------- Monsters Required: Non-flying monsters (for Method "Clip-Wing") A Water Dragon (Suggested, not fully required) equip Demon Horn/Life Bracelet ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Essential Info: You will be casting a lot of Rapid Earth (Water1+Earth1) in this level. Also note that your dragon will be taking lots of hits and you might want to change its equipment. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Method Head on: (Im using "step-by-step" as its easier) 1)Purify Crystal and kill Wind dragon. 2)Send your MONSTER team north to tackle the dragon and Jetverns. Make sure they can manage. 3)Use Rapid Earth on the nearest Wind Dragon stuck on the small island. Capture this one as it would be the easiest. Try to stay out of its range. 4)Rush up to your group and heal immediately. 5)Repeat 2,3&4. just send your monsters down. 6)Use teleport to get to the chest and ram the remaining dragons north down. "Clip-Wings": This method requires the use of the spell "clip wings" (Light2+Fire2+Wind2) Simply use the spell frequently while following the "Head on" method. It just makes tackling the Jetverns easier. Quake: If you use Earth monsters, just send them up while casting Insane Rock. It would heal them and also damage the dragons. Use with clip wings for a faster kill. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Useful Tips: 1) If u have Earth Monsters, try using Insane Rock. --------------------- Flare Dragon [LMD3.3] --------------------- Monsters Required: Fire-type Monsters (Runemander, Ruby Golem) -equip the Golem with Iron Shield and the Runemander with Demon Horn- ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Essential Info: Don't be sad if you can't make it through the first time round. This is a hard map at the first playthrough. You will take a few tries to perfect the mothods listed. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Method Head on: This tactic needs perfecting. It was only by a stroke of luck did I manage this map, so dont worry if you cant. Start by getting the crystal. Cast Clip wings (yes, do it even though there are few Jetverns). It saves a lot of time in reaching the last Jetvern. Capture the Flare Dragon near you (its easier, this one). Follow the path along the lava north, then head west to the small island with the 3 dragons and a crystal. Use Fire2+Water1/2/3 to hit them all, or use Fire1 +Water3. Your aim is to kill these off quickly, so use healing+buffing spells (Light1+Fire3 for attack up, etc). After that, capture the crystal and repeat the above tactic for the nearby group of dragons. Head north, then kill the 4 dragons fast using the same tactic. You might want to use wind spells to group them together. When one is left, you should cast Clip Wings if the Jetvern aint dead. Once again, use buffing and healing spells. Flood [Water3+water2+water1](not tested): Its the same mainly as the above mentioned method, but it attacks everyone on screen.I have not tried this method although my friends tell me it works. I suggest you use your on discretion. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Useful tips: 1) Use Water2 whenever possible if you are not using fire creatures. However, I suggest you use fire creatures the most. 2) For healing, use buff heals like Light1+Fire3, or use Zones like Light3X3. --------------------- Earth Dragon [LMD3.4] --------------------- Monsters Required: NON-FLYING ONES (Important) !!If you need flying ones, bring those of Wind Element!! A dragon of any kind (Wind/Water/Fire) -Equip Demon Horn- ----------------------------------------------------------- Essential Info: The following method was found on the forums. If you made the idea, please PM me with a link to verify that you made the idea. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Method: This method is clever and ingenious. Cast Clip Wings (Light2+Fire2+Wind2) on the screen, getting rid of as many Jetverns as possible. The trick is to cast and heal your monsters while they are getting rid of the 3 earth dragons near you. You might want to capture one of these. __________ /<<<<<<<<< \ Legend: X->Place of interest |\/_ ___ /\| D->Last dragon to kill |\/| |/\| E->Empty space |X D /\| |E |_ __|/\| O->Obstacle | | T>>/\| T->Triple Dragon | /\OOO| S->Sart |C____/\<_S| C->Chest *Ignore the horid ASCII* Follow the arrows around once the dragons die. The three dragons mentioned are at "T". Go around the middle bit and head to "X" while casting "Clip Wings" non-stop. Capture the crystals at "X", then pick an entrance to enter and kill the last earth dragon. Use walls (preferbly light, they heal) to block your monsters if they're dragons so that they dont move about much. ---------------------- Shine Dragon [LMD3.5] ---------------------- Monsters Required: Range-using (Dragons, Runemanders, etc) ---------------------------------------- Essential Info: Master drawing Clip Wings (I know, ive mentioned this like almost every other paragraph) Teleporting ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Method: Dont be intimidated by the large amount of Jetverns. Get some powerful monsters which are able to range. If they can shoot fast, all the better. However, dont forgo your "blockers". Use Clip Wings PRONTO. The sooner you weaken the Jetverns the better. Apparently the Jetverns forever circle the area, so you need fast attackers. A suggestion is to use clouds (Wind1+element1/2/3) to damage the Jetverns when they fly past, use a homing spell (Fire1+element2) or a Lock-On spell (Fire1 +element3). However, be quick as it may take some time to take down the Shine Dragons. Use teleport to reach the crystals and the chest. Immediately after that, use Rapid Dark on the Shine Dragons while quickly healing your own. An Earth Dragon with Demon Horn lvl 6 is useful here as it has a very high defense. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Useful Tips: 1) Use range shooters with a couple of monsters which can block. If you have an Earth and Flare dragon, use it. Equip both with Demon Horns and send the Earth dragon in first. 2) Remember, if you want to hit the Shine Dragons also, use the Lock-On Dark spell. 3) Dark Lances are useful from the crystals. Alternatively, use Rapid Dark. 4) Heal your units whnever you have the chance. It is important that your Earth Dragon takes almost all the hits cause of its high defense. ---------------------- Shadow Dragon [LMD3.6] ---------------------- !! Disclaimer !! The quake one was gotten from the Board from dramonic. I've rewritten the idea into a understandable method. This method is more suggested. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Monsters: Dragons (The strongest ones you have) --------------------------------------- Essential Info: This is tough, so have a comfy chair and sit down while tackling this tough level. Also master drawing Life Steal. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Methods Head On: Tricky. I'll make another horrid ASCII map for you to look at. ________________________ | | Legend: C->Crystal |> C | S->Start | | D | | D->Dragon | |----- ---------| | | |> _>_/\________C| | |/\|/\___<____<___ | | |___<__ _______ |/\| | | > > /\ | | | | _______________|/\| | |S >____>____>___>___| | | XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX| !! Disclaimer!! Yes, I know its waaaaaay out of proportion, but we're not using the last path anyways, so ive decided to edit that out. Its very badly done, probably horrid, but you roughly get the idea right? It may seem confusing, but wouldn't once you've read this. Send your fastest dragon down the top lane. Get the other dragon to follow you. The idea is to follow the two paths while use Life Steal and Light Lance unaccessbile Dragons. Capture one if possible (just do it, you dont wanna do this again right?). Just make your way up wiping out all the dragons. But you must be fast. When you reach the top, use a homing spell on the Jetverns and finish off the dragon. Alternatively, you can ignore the dragons in the last path and reach the top using the middle and top lanes. Then while the dragons kill the remaining one, you teleport down and use the life steal+light lance combo. Quake: Bring in some Earth Dragons, then cast Insane Rock to kill all the dragons not near crystals. After that, use Clip Wings to tackle the Jetverns, then make your way around with Light2+Wind1/2,Teleport and the Gather (Wind1+wind2+wind3) spells to wipe out the remaining dragons. Flood: Same as quake (Insane Rock), swap Earth Dragons for Water ones. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Useful Tips: 1) If you've servivied without Trio Runes so far, your gonna need them now. 2) Insane Rock is more recommended. However, if you don't want to use that method, you can try the "flood" one. My method is rather unstable. ________________________________ (LMD5) Dragon Stats | ________________________________| =============================================================================== |Name | Level | HP | Attack | Defense | Speed | Mag Def | Special =============================================================================== | Hydro Dragon | 50 | 3000 | 262 | 190 | 16 | 60 |Evade | | Flare Dragon | 50 | 3000 | 330 | 190 | 16 | 60 |Attack | | Gale Dragon | 50 | 3000 | 262 | 190 | 21 | 60 |Speed | | Earth Dragon | 50 | 3000 | 262 | 250 | 15 | 60 |Defense| | Shine Dragon | 50 | 3000 | 262 | 190 | 16 | 73 |MagDef | | Shadow Dragon | 50 | 3000 | 262 | 190 | 16 | 60 |Acc | =============================================================================== Notes: Special refers to the uniqueness of the dragon. Alternatively, if you want to ruin the fun of killing/capturing the dragons, use Life Steal. 2) Try to use the Obey spells (Dark1+Element3) as they have the furthest range and seem to work better. 3) The dragons are especially useful in new game+ as the Sages become stronger and these dragons are capable of tackling them. I still remember I killed the Fire Sage with a fire dragon in 45 seconds flat. 4) Since the items boost by percentage, you might want to pick out those dragons with noticable changes. These are the Flare Dragon (High attack), Shine Dragon (High Mag.Def), Earth Dragon (High Defense) and the Wind Dragon (High Speed). Therefore, you should equip the dragons with Demon Horn, Iron Shield, Dragon Scale and Gale Shoes respectively. 5) The dragons start at lvl 40, so training them can be irritating. Capture the lvl 50 dragons which can be found in random encounters on the maps. If your on new game+, try to capture it on the first round. ___________________ [LMD7] Spell List | ___________________| Suggested Spells In Guide: Lance Set: Fire 1, Any Element 1 Element: The element of second rune It sends shot of element which ignores obstacles and goes through enemies. A: It is called kill-joy. Ain't it more rewarding to do it without using a cheap spell but yout own wits? Q: I still keep running out of time for the Shadow Dragons! A: Practice drawing Quake. Unfortunately there aint a foolproof method for this battle as its all about strategy. This IS a RTS. Q: Any tips for drawing Water2? A: Hmm... Someone on the board once said that you make the first curve go across the circle, then come down and make the first "u" bigger than the second. Q: Can I get the dragons on the Evil Mode? A: Unfortunately, no. Q: Must I capture the dragon, or will I get one at the end of the match? A: You must capture the dragon. For the easiest dragon to capture, look at my list. ___________________________ [LMD9] Credits | ___________________________| I would like to thank: Ubisoft and Taito for creating a wonderful game dramonic for the interesting way of deafeating the dark(shadow) dragons Likely Updates: New methods Spell usage glossary (more to follow) Contacts: hadesproject@gmail.com OR ask the board for me.
