Introduction =============== One of favorite of characters, and one that I found myself using the most. Sasuke Uchiha is a pretty well balanced character to use, as well as one of the easiest to master. Now I'm not going to go into his history or anything, since it will create a huge wall of text that no one will bother to read. Just go to wikipedia.org for that kind of info. If you can't find him, here's where you can. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sasuke_Uchiha As for the game Sasuke, he's a guy that uses a sword upside-down style. His main characteristic about him is his chidori. And that's all I'm gonna say for here. This faq will be frequently updated, since I'm a perfectionist. ================== II. Basic Controls ================== Since Sasuke has two different types of koma natures, I won't be listing the specific types of natures. Instead, I will be listing them as Neutral and Dominant. Dominant being the nature that is weak against the attack. Sasuke has both power and knowledge type battle komas, so he would be dominant against laughter and knowledge type opponents, depending one which you decide to use. Command Attack #of hits Neutral Dominant ------------------------------------------------------------------------ B A simple punch 1 7 10 B+forward A kick followed by 2 7 10 a kick from the other leg B+up A heel kick to the air, 2 7 10 followed by another heel kick by the other leg. Aquiring and Evolving Sasuke ================================= Where to find: Task number 5 is what you're looking for. ---Planet "M"---- MISSION 4 1. Play as KomaMan to KO your opponents 2. To get Orochimaru in order to get Sasuke's second eight koma, you need to do this mission. Task SP is what you're looking for. ---Planet "M"---- MISSION 2 1. KO your opponent as fast as possible 2. Clear within 20 seconds SP Clear within 15 seconds Unlock: Orochimaru (Naruto) You only need to kill one komaman in less than 15 seconds. By now, you should be able to do so in 10. ====================== IV. Koma/Manga Moments ====================== 7 Koma - Sasuke is found for the first time after the timeskip. He is looking down on Sakura, Naruto, and Sai. 8 Koma (Vertical) - In the middle of his fight with Naruto, Sasuke says something about his brother, Itachi. 8 Koma (Horizontal) - Before Sasuke is first seen in the timeskip, in a talk with Sai. ============================= V. Sasuke's komas and moveset ============================= Because Sasuke doesn't have a 2-6 koma, we will be skipping those and move on to the only four komas he has. The reason this being, is because Sasuke has not shown enough battle techniques to make any more komas on him. Imbedded abilities: (Skills that all three Sasuke battle komas have) -Can Wall jump -Can see invisible opponents -Take less damage from special attacks -Ally boosted by: Naruto(Naruto), Orochimaru(Naruto), Ayame(Gintama) -Ally boosts: Frieza(DBZ) -Ultimate Action(Press select): Does a seal with fingers and uses the replacement jutsu that lasts for 3-4 seconds. Upon getting hit within that time, Sasuke will be replaced with a log, unharmed. He will reappear right after, with a half-a-second invincibility effect. --1 Koma(help)-- Equip Effect: Decreases damage taken by special attacks. --Evaluation: Pretty useful, although more of a waste of space. Sasuke doesn't ally boost anybody but Frieza, and I see no real reason for him to have this. There are a lot more useful help komas out there. You should really use this if there's nothing else to put on your character. --7 Koma(battle)-- J-Soul: 176 Nature: Knowledge Shape: [] [][][] [][][] -Special Attack A(normal X)- Chidori Neutral Damage: 40 Dominant Damage: 60 Hits: 3 Nature: Knowledge Dominant Against: Laughter Special Effect: Hold X to charge and causes shock effect. --Description: After a very short charging time, Sasuke rushes forward and zaps the opponent with a ball of lightning. Causes a shock status effect on contact. --Evaluation: Has a very quick base charge time, but not quick as to recommend using in the middle of a combo without the aid of a support. With just the base charging time, Sasuke can move and strike a half screen distance away. With a full charge, Sasuke will move a full screen distance away. If needed, you can rotate the directional pad while charging to lengthen the charging time, but will only have the distance of half a screen. Although charging doesn't have any power increase, it does lengthen the distance. A con about this move is that once you execute this move, you cannot stop until you dealt your distance. So I recommend being careful of this move when facing the edge. -Special Attack B(Up + X)- Koukana Kisote Damage: 44 Dominant Damage: 66 Hits: 5 Nature: Knowledge Dominant Against: Laughter Special Effects: Guard break and burn effect. --Description: First, Sasuke hits the opponent upward into the air, breaking his guard and making a lightning effect. After, Sasuke follows into the air and deals three more hits with his lightning charged weapon before finishing with his fire jutsu. Inflicts burn status effect as well. --Evaluation: Although the guard break sounds like a tempting idea, the full damage is not guarenteed. If there is a platform above you, there is a chance that the opponent will faint on it before the attack finishes. Other than that, this attack connects well in the middle of a basic combo. --8 Koma(battle) 1-- J-Soul: 192 Nature: Knowledge Shape: [][] [][] [][] [][] --8 Koma(battle) 2-- J-Soul: 192 Nature: Power Shape: [][][][] [][][][] -Special Attack A(Normal X)- Chidori Damage: 48 Dominant Damage: 72 Hits: 3 Nature: Knowledge Dominant Against: Laughter Special Effects: Hold X to charge and causes shock effect. --Description: The same as the other chidori, except extra damage. --Evaluation: The same as the other chidori, except I like the extra damage. Although, there is one difference between this Chidori and the other Chidori. In 7 Chidori, Sasuke cannot change the launching direction, while 8 Sasuke can. All you need to do is hold the direction you want to change, and Sasuke will attack in that direction instead. It's a good strat to use if someone wants to try and sneak up from behind, while you're targeting another person. -Special Attack B(Normal X)- Chidori Nagashi Damage: 40 Dominant Damage: 60 Hits: 7 Nature: Knowledge Dominant Against: Laughter Special Effects: All around directional attack and causes shock effect. --Description: Pretty much a giant chidori that attacks in all directions around Sasuke about half a screen wide. --Evaluation: A very useful attack, especially on multi-player battles. Not only there, but in one on one battles as well. If, say, an opponent attempts to get back on stage, all you need to do is stand on the edge and use Chidori Nagashi, and the opponent won't be able to get back on, whether he is flying there, or hanging on the ledge. Extra notes about Sasuke's power 8 koma: As many people may know, Sasuke will take much extra damage when using his power eight koma from laughter characters. This can pose a threat. That is, if Sasuke's specials weren't knowledge based. In short, Sasuke has no real nature weekness. ============================= VI. Strategies and Techniques ============================= Basic Setup: Always, and I mean, ALWAYS equip a help koma that gives you SP for attacking/blocking with a battle character. With this equipped to Sasuke, every basic combo he does will recover one full SP guage, whether your opponent is blocking or not. You can also put in "Increase Special Gauge when attacking or blocking chain attacks" to increase it even faster. Basic Combo: A basic combo for nearly everybody in the game, but is worth mentioning. B, B+forward, Y, Y+forward is a good combo for Sasuke that does 8 hits and 42 damage total. But, if should the opponent block while doing the combo, a good idea is to use Sasuke's Koukana Kisote to break that guard and knock him senseless. Support Combo: Something that really needs to be mentioned in the instruction booklet, and was fixed from the original Jump! Superstars. In this game, you can actually use your supports that works with your character. For Sasuke, I have only found five that's worth mentioning. Three have the nearly same effect. The first three with the same results are Burning Chidori, Guard Breaker, and Sasuke/Naruto Rendan. One more is to get rid of lag from a decent attack. The last(and special one) is three koma Ayame. Burning Chidori: (3 Trunks, Shishio, Kenshin) My all-time favorite. First, you'd use the basic 8 hit combo mentioned above. On the last button combination, or somewhere around there, press the shortcut that you assigned to Trunks or Kenshin(I'd recommend R, since it's closer to the X). At the same time, press and hold the Chidori. As soon as the final hit strikes from your support character, use Chidori to finish things off. This combo negates to con of the charge time of Chidori which would normally be enough for your opponent to guard, and does around a good 121. For Kenshin, you will want to activate his koma while executing Sasuke's Y+forward, since Kenshin has a little lag time before his attack. I'd recommend using Trunks for this combo, but because many people don't like the sight of him, Kenshin would be recommended. You can also use Shishio in this combo, if you don't want to use Kenshin. Guard Breaker combo: (3 Anna or Sanosuke) Here's a favorite of mine, since I like the 8 koma Sasuke more than the 7. Because 8 koma Sasuke losses his guard break special, you would be turned off from that. To make up for it, you can combo in a guard breaker support. Anna is my personal favorite. Be sure to activate her as a shortcut WHILE performing Sasuke's Forward+Y. At the same time, hold down the X button. Make sure you time this right, or else you will miss. You must unleash Chidori at the same time Anna punches the guarding opponent. If used later or sooner, Chidori will miss. But, if you happen to miss, at least the opponent will have the slow down status effect. Sanosuke is there, incase you don't want to inflict slowdown status effect for some reason. Sasuke Naruto Rendan: (3 Naruto) This next combo uses the three koma Naruto. Although it is very difficult to pull off, it can do a chunk of damage, as well as give you that ally boost, and make a very flashy combo. Basically the same concept as the above combo, except you use Naruto Rendan and then Chidori/Chidori Nagashi at the last second before the opponent hits the ground. It's the teamwork you never thought you'd see. Infinite Combo: (3 Ayame) Okay, so not really infinite, but can last forever(until the opponent goes down, that is). First, you equip Ichigo(Bleach) and Ishida(Bleach) to Sasuke(it can be others with the same effect, but I like these two). Also put in three koma Ayame Sarutobi(Gintoki), with a shortcut. In battle, just use the basic combo, but in the middle(between Y and Y+forward) activate Ayame. This will cause some damage, as well as freeze the opponent. This sets you up for another combo without the enemy able to block. Rinse and repeat. Also, since your help koma are equiped, every basic combo replenishes one special bar to be used by Ayame. As long as your opponent doesn't use a support in the middle of your combo, then they're pretty much done for. Plus, it gives an extra ally boost for Sasuke. Stab Lag: (2 Aya) If you feel the need to get down from the air, but also feel like giving the opponent something to get hit by, you will probably be tempted to use Sasuke's Y attack. Sure he flies down fast and deals a decent 14 damage, but even if you hit or miss, there will be a lag time that will allow your opponent to strike. So, in order to get rid of that disadvantage, Aya is the way to go. Your opponent will be tempted to attack you in your vulnerable state, so it's most likely that they won't guard, and that will be their mistake. Edge guard: (8 Sasuke) Sasuke's Chidori Nagashi is a very good edge guard. It covers all directions, so the opponent won't be able to get back on the stage, no matter how hard he tries. And even if he does manage to get ahold of the ledge after that, the shock effect will cause him to well... be shocked and let go, sending him to kingdom come. And even if he DOES manage to get back on the stage, he would have to endure 40 points of damage. Sudden Death: If you set up the help komas right, a single basic combo should full up one full SP bar. If so, do one full combo on the opponent. He will most likely be guarding, but that's to be expected in sudden death. Now that your SP gauge is fulled, quickly dash to the other side of the floating platform of death before your opponent has time to retaliate. Now that you're there, activate Chidori and hold it. Keep rotating the D-pad to make it last as long as you want. With the size of the stage, normal Chidori would be able to hit your opponent, even if you're on opposite sides of the platform. If your opponent is guarding, keep charging the Chidori. The second the target lets go of his guard, unleash Chidori ASAP. It will send him flying into oblivion. Sudden Death method 2: If you don't like the above method, because it may take too long for him to let his guard down, there's option number two. First, do one basic combo to full up your SP guage by one and some more, but STOP when you use Y. After that, immedietly guard yourself. Your opponent will be expecting a full combo, but he won't expect you guarding before doing it all. Your opponent is most likely going to attack you. When he's done, go onto the offensive. In the middle of your combo, you have to use Anna to break your opponent's guard, and at the same time, charge Chidori. You know what comes next. I have yet to face an opponent that came back after this, so it's pretty trustworthy if you can pull it off right. Strengths: Sasuke is very omnipotent(whatever that means). He's good in the air, on ground, in combos, and any other area you may think of. Weeknesses: Although Sasuke's attacks are fast, if they happen to miss, they leave a huge opening. Especially his specials. If the opponent blocks or jumps over Chidori, you'd wind up having your back exposed. If Kouokana Kisote misses that first hit, Sasuke is wide open for just about any attack. Using Chidori Nagashi, although is good for the first time, using two in a row is not a good idea, since the first one knocks them outside the Chidori Nagashi range for the second. Also, none of Sasuke's basic ground attacks causes the opponent to fall to the ground. Once you finish whatever button you're executing, if you don't back yourself with a support or another battle character, you will leave yourself wide open. Also, if you're off the edge and happened to accidentally press the Y button, you're sending yourself to your doom. ======================= VII. Sasuke Only Combos ======================= Support combos are good and all, but what happens when you find the moment that they are useless? Friends aren't always there for you when you need them. Besides, Sasuke perfers to work alone. B, B+forward, Y, Y+forward. 8 hits for 42 damage. Dominant: 63 You know how this combo works by now. There is no more need to explain. B, Y+up, B. 4 hits for 28 damage. Dominant: 42 What Sasuke lacks is a move that sends the opponent laying on the floor. With this combo, the opponent will not only fly into the air, but will also find their face on the ground. Up+B, B. 3 hits for 14 damage. Dominant: 21 What happens if you find yourself out of SP and can't use Chidori Nagashi to edge guard? You use this. When an opponent recovers from langing on a ledge, they roll to get back on. That's their vulnerable time. With Sasuke's up+b, he leans down backwards to their level and hits them upward. From there, he will spike the opponent into oblivion. You must time this just right, or you will miss your next hit from the air, and find yourself vulnerable. Risky, but effective. Select, X. 3 hits for 48 damage. Dominant: 72 As you should know by now, Sasuke has some lag when charging Chidori, leaving him pretty vulnerable. With the replacement jutsu, he's safe for 3-4 of the charge time. Not the best, but I thought it may be worth mentioning. Down+Y, Up+X(8 koma). 8 hits for 54 damage. Dominant: 81 Sasuke lags after using his guard breaker attack. With Chidori Nagashi, not only is the lag gone, but also gives a a shock effect for those who guard too much. Down+B, Up+X(8 koma). 7 hits for 40 damage. Dominant: 60. When you trin down an opponent's health to low, they tend to switch characters to avoid quick death. Using the force change attack, then using the near-no-lag attack of Chidori Nagashi, his other character is pretty much done for. Up+B, X. 3 hits for 48 damage. Dominant: 64 Use Sasuke's heel kick to send the opponent into the air when he's not guarding and then quickly cancel into Chidori. Sending them into the air, and them falling is just the exact amount of lag that Chidori has... or had. Sasuke has many other combos, but I found these to be the most effective. The combos were used with knowledge Sasuke against a laughter training komaman. =================== VIII. Deck Building =================== Here's the section on what recommended komas should be used with Sasuke. Help komas: ----------- Ichigo and Ishida(Bleach): These help komas will assist you a LOT when it comes the SP burning Sasuke. It can be others with the same effects, but I like these two the best, since they're the easiest to remember. Orochimaru(Naruto): Ally boost, plus health regen isn't bad. What have you got to lose? Rohan Kishibe(Jojo's Bizarre Adventure): His help koma makes you immune to support and attack seals. If you find yourself support sealed, you're in big trouble. Sakura (Naruto): Sakura cuts the status effect time inflicted on you by half. With this on Sasuke, he's pretty much ready for whatever your opponent throws at you. Support Komas: -------------- Naruto 3 koma(Naruto): Okay, here's where I went "wtf". Sure his help koma gives an ally boost, but the effect is just crazy. Why give Sasuke (useless)wall jump when he already has it? It made no sense. So if I were you, and wanted the ally boost, just put in three koma Naruto for Support Combo 2. Ayame Sarutobi 3 koma(Gintama): Yum, ally boost. Use the three koma for the infinite combo, if you're sure that the opponent has no way of countering it. If he/she does, I recommend just using her help koma for the guard boost. You can also use her for decent combo breaking. Trunks(DBZ)/Kenshin(Rurouni Kenshin)/Shishio(Rurouni Kenshin) 3 koma: Use these three koma guys for my all-time personal favorite combo. I'm going out on a limb here, telling Sasuke users to use this personal favorite, but hey, I'm generous. Although, I'd appreciate it if you don't use this against me. Anna 3 koma(Shaman King): Very good three koma for the guard break combo. Sanosuke 3 koma(Rurouni Kenshin): If for whatever reason you don't want your opponent to gain a speed-down status effect, you can always use Sano. He's basically the same as Anna, but doesn't inflict status effects, plus does ten extra damage. Seiya 3 koma(Saint Seyia): Although I hate three koma Seiya with all my being, I have to admit that he's a good koma to use in almost all decks. Luffy 3 koma(One Piece): If your opponents are afraid of your all-mighty Sasuke, and runs away every chance they get by means of air, three koma Luffy Gumu Gumu no Storm is the way to go. Aya 2 koma (Ichigo 100%): A decent combo stopper, support sealer, fast, can be used at a distance, innocent, and comedic. Who wouldn't want to put her in their deck? Sakura 3 koma (Naruto): Every deck should have at least one healer. Nami 2 koma (One Piece): Sasuke and his combos burn SP like crazy. If you're not satisfied with help komas, Nami can always steal a couple for you. Battle Komas: Because of Sasuke's large and complicated size, helpful battle komas are hard to find. ------------- Ichigo 7 Koma (Bleach): Sasuke was made for one on one battles, rather than multiple character battles. In this case, you will need someone that knows how to deal with 2+ enemies. 7 Ichigo is fast, powerful, can attack in all directions, and his X special can deliver a whopping damage, plus a random appearance of the half-mask form. Sakura 6 koma (Naruto)(Vertical): Two of Sasuke's komas are knowledge type, leaving him vulnerable to power type attacks. In this case, you'll want a laughter character to do the job. 6 Sakura is a good candidate, plus, as a backup character, she is able to heal the tired Sasuke with her Up+X special. Plus, Sakura has nice range for her guard breaker. Frieza 6 koma (DBZ): He gains an ally boost from Sasuke... and that's it. Train 5 koma (Black Cat): Sasuke has mainly attacks that excel in close range combat. You may like a long range attacker at times. I recommend his power koma, since Sasuke can already take out the laughter characters. ======================= IX.
