What kind of superstar could possibly go through so many bad gimmicks? Glen Jacobs, otherwise known as Kane. Jacobs finished college, and started work in many Indy promotions, eventually settling in Smoky Mountain Wrestling. There, he worked under the name 'Unibomb', and, with the help of partner Al Snow, they became Tag Champs, beating the Rock 'N' Roll Express to do so. When SMW folded, Jacobs went for broke and made it into the WWF. Jacobs entered the WWF as part of Jerry Lawler's stable, The Knights. He then became Dr. Issac Yankem, DDS, who had a 'sweet tooth for pain'. Oy. He later was made into the fake Diesel when Kevin Nash left WWF for the WCW. After a while, Jacobs disappeared. An angle started where Paul Bearer would hint at someone Undertaker knew coming back. During a Hell in a Cell match, Undertaker was dominating Shawn Micheals in a bout for the WWF Title when an explosion hit. Kane ran out, tore the locked door off the Cell, gave Undertaker his own Tombstone, allowing Micheals to retain the title. This started a fued between Undertaker and Kane, but Undertaker refused to fight Kane. Kane went on to interfere in many of Undertaker's matches, and several other wrestlers' matches as well. At the Royal Rumble, Undertaker was again fighting Michaels, this time in a Casket match. Undertaker was again dominating when many superstars came out and started beating on Undertaker. Kane came out, and destroyed everyone, including Undertaker, and threw him in the Casket. He then set the casket on fire. When the casket was opened, Undertaker was gone. Undertaker came back on RAW, and accepted the challenge, and they fought at Wrestlemania. Today, Kane is a nigh-unstoppable force in the WWF. He is known to take finishers and sit right back up. He only seems to be injured by weapons, and even then it takes quite a number of shots to down the Big Red Machine. Cheap shots at Kane when the ref isn't looking are quite common when someone has the luck to wrestle him. He has tremoundous strength, bodyslamming The Big Show over the top ropes at the Royal Rumble. Since Undertaker's heel turn, Kane is friends with no-one, though he may ally himself with people on a day-to-day basis. ======================================== ==SECTION 2: SKILL AND PARAMETER STATS== ======================================== SKILL ----- Real Name.............Kane (Glen Jacobs) FPD Name............................Mane Promotion............................WWF FPD Promotion........................WFW Size...............................Large Class..............................Heavy Height............................213 cm Weight............................148 kg Country..........................America Birthdate......................4.26.1967 Stance.............................Power Offensive Skill....................Power Return Skill.......................Power Critical Type...................Finisher Special Skill...............Quick Return Recovery..........................Medium Recovery (when bleeding)............Fast Respiratory.......................Medium Respiratory (when bleeding).......Medium Awareness.........................Medium Awareness (when bleeding).........Strong Neck Strength.......................High Arm Strength........................High Waist Strength......................High Foot Strength.......................High Movement Speed...............Medium Fast Ascend Speed......................Medium Ascend Skill..................Can Ascend PARAMETER - OFFENSE PARAMETER - DEFENSE ------------------- ------------------- Punch.............6 Punch.............8 Kick..............5 Kick..............8 Suplex............4 Suplex............4 Submission........2 Submission........2 Stretch...........5 Stretch...........6 Power.............9 Flying............7 Instant-P.........7 Crush.............7 Arm Power.........9 Vs Lariat.........8 Technical.........4 Technical.........4 Rough.............8 Rough.............7 Ground............4 Ground............4 TOTAL SKILL POINTS (on a scale from 0-300): 190 ======================= ==SECTION 3: MOVELIST== ======================= NOTE: This movelist is not a translation of the guide, as I don't have the guide, and I can't read Japanese anyway. You'll want to start off strong, and finish the same. You'll notice most of his grapples target the head. The Short Range Lariat, the Neck Hanging Tree, the Tombstone... once your opponent starts rolling around on the ground clutching his neck, it's time for the Chokeslam. STRIKES Kane isn't so much of a striker in Fire Pro. He has mostly punches, and just a 6 in the punch stat. He does have some good strikes though. I find the Giant Kick and Lariat very easy to connect with. The American Hook isn't bad for putting down a dazed opponent, though it's sometimes hard to connect with. The basic kicks and punches work too. But striking isn't what Kane is about, at least not in Fire Pro. GRAPPLES Here's where it's at. All these moves, especially the A and B grapples are pretty good, but they're just warm-ups for the Chokeslam. Since near every move targets the head, just go for broke and use all the moves at your disposal. Once you see fit, do the cut throat taunt, and hit the Chokeslam. Try to work in the your specialty moves, like the Big Boot. That's a good one, since whipping opponent makes them tired, and you boot them in the face. The throat thrust is a good anytime use move, for a crowd pop. The Tombstone is a damaging move, so that can be subbed for a finishing move. Of course, if you REALLY feel as though you're dominating, go up the post and hit Kane's Flying Lariat. That'll complete a great day as the Big Red Machine... =) ====================== ==SECTION 5: CLOSING== ====================== In closing, I would like to thank: * Bill Wood, for letting me use his guide format... mucho props! * www.411wrestling.com for the history. * www.gswf.org for Skill and Parameter stats. * CJayC and GameFAQs for hosting this guide.
