Ending ======== 1. Intro ======== Last Ninja 3 is the last installment in the famous Last Ninja series for various home computers. Unlike the previous games, this one has an animated intro and ending sequence. ============== 2. How to Play ============== In each stage, you walk around the level finding and using items. At the end of each stage, you use a scroll to enter the boss door. You start off with 5 lives, and get 3 credits. However, they start you back at the beginning of the level, and they save the amount of lives you started the level with, too. So if you only have 1 life left, a continue will start you with 1 life, too. A new element is the bushido meter, represented by the dragon. Bushido is gained by using a punching, or using the same weapon as the enemy. Leaving a screen with an enemy undefeated and using a different weapon makes you lose bushido. At the top-right of the screen is a item finder. When an item is near you, it will show what item is there. It also changes when an enemy equips a weapon. =========== 3. Controls =========== The game is played with a keyboard and a joystick. Joystick (without fire held) All directions: move Fire: jump (while moving) Holding the stick in the opposite direction of where you are facing makes you walk backwards, not turn around. To turn around, you'll need to circle the stick until you face the desired direction. You cannot jump while walking backwards. Joystick (with fire held) Left/Up/Right: use weapon. Some have different functions depending on which direction you push. L/R throw for the shuriken. Down: always kicks Left/Right-Down: pick up items Left/Right-Up: block, makes enemy attacks do less damage Keyboard: F1: Toggle music on/off F3: Switch held item left F5: Switch held item right You cannot loop over your items in this game. F7: Pause Space: Switch held weapon Run/Stop: Kill ninja ============== 4. Walkthrough ============== LEVEL 1 - Earth Go southwest and take the shuriken from the statue. Go northeast and enter the house and get the gloves. Go northeast twice and get the sword from the statue. Take the left path up and get the nunchuck piece from the middle. Go right, northeast, right, then northeast. Get the other nunchuck piece from the bottom-right tree and then follow the path. Get the claws from the left hut and then go northeast. Go inside the left hut and get the potion to heal you. Go right twice, and then northeast twice. Go right and select the gloves. Climb up the wall to the right. Go right twice and get the lamp. Go left twice and climb back down. Select the lamp and use it on the barrels. Use the gloves and climb back up. Go right and use the bomb on the rock. Climb back down again and go left twice. Jump on the rock and get the scrolls. Go right and select the scroll and go in the house. Defeat the boss. LEVEL 2 - Wind Go northwest and follow the straight path until you reach the lily pad. Get the bellows from the third door. Pick up the lily pad to push it. Go northwest and jump across the river using the lily pad. Ignore the lily pad and get the potion from the second door. Go northeast. Go northwest and get the scroll near the green building to the right. Go northwest then northeast. Get the rope from the tree. Go northeast, southeast, then southwest. Follow the linear path until you see a green vine. Don't use it, it hurts! Go to the second pole and use the rope to climb down from there. Go right and use the scroll on the door and beat the boss. LEVEL 3 - Water Go northeast and get the scroll from the opening. Go northeast then northwest. Get the staff from the grass near you. Go northwest, southeast, southwest and get the shuriken from the machine on the bottom-right. Go northwest and jump on the bridge. Get the plug from the other side of the bridge. Jump back left and go southwest. Get the potion from the pot near the middle. Go southeast and northeast twice. Use the plug on the hole facing the whirlpool. Keep going northeast until you arrive at a door. Use the scrool and beat the boss. LEVEL 4 - Fire Go southeast and get the ladder piece from the box to the left. Use it whenever you need to climb some rungs. Go southeast and use the gray platform to continue. Climb the rungs and get the ingot at the end. Climb down from the left and go northeast. Get the gasmask from the tables at the top-right. Go all the way back to the lava pool and land on the gray platform. Wear the mask and go left. Get the powder from the blue pot. Go back and then northwest. Take the bottom path left and get the potion from the blue pot. Go southwest twice. Climb the rungs and go back to where you got the gasmask. Go southeast twice and get the key mold near the middle. Go southeast and get the scroll from the blue pot. Go southeast and use the bellows on the fireplace to make a (barely noticeable) fire. Use the key mold on the fire to turn it into a key. Go southeast twice and open the gate to the right using the parry move. Go down the stairs using the scroll and beat the boss. LEVEL 5 - Void Walk northeast twice and then northwest. Get the potion in the bottom-middle. Go southwest and get the scroll near the bigger blue star. Keep going until you arrive at the final boss! ********************************************** * If you don't have half bushido or more, go * * back and fight enemies properly to get it! * ********************************************** Select the scroll and he will start throwing shuriken at you. Hold the parry position to reflect his attacks. Note that there is no graphical representation of how much damage he has taken. You'll lose half of your power deflecting the shuriken. After this, you've beaten the game! ...or have you? Beat him now as you would a boss. Now you've won! Now watch the ending, press fire, and enter your name in the hiscore table! ========= 5.
