Lady Tut FAQ 1. Introduction 2. Controls and setup 3. Objects and enemy point values 4. General tips 5. Level by level walkthrough 6. Credits 7. Copyright --------------------------------------------- 1. Welcome! Your job is to navigate the 9 catacombs that lead to Lady Tut's Tomb. Unfortunately, there are several beasts below, and the path is locked by multiple doors. You are equipped with an energy gun. Unfortunately, the charge on it is dead and can only be powered through ancient jewels that can be found in the tomb. Still, how hard could it be.......? --------------------------------------------- 2. The controls are as follows : Press the fire button or space bar to go to the set-up menu. Here, you may choose whether you want to play with a Joystick(Press J) or a Keyboard(press K). You may also change the key setup as you see fit. Here are the default(and joystick) commands : Move the joystick in any direction : Move in that direction. I, J, K, and M keys : Moves your character up, left, right and down, respectively. Z key : Fires the energy gun left. X key : Fires the energy gun right. Extra warning : Do NOT move the joystick or press a key before a level starts! If you do, you risk being stuck "outside" the level, trapped for eternity(or until you reset)! --------------------------------------------- 3. The catacombs are a nasty place. Unfortunately, you cannot use your gun until at least the third level. Even worse, it only fires to the sides, leaving you unprotected from the top and bottom. However, you can protect yourself with "rotating doors". They look like walls with a distinct color change. You can push these to help avoid the creatures. Also, be on the look-out for rings. Each one gives you some shots(random each ring) and a point bonus. Once you have 90 or so shots, you may use your gun. I have noticed no difference between the monsters, except point values(which are given on the title screen, but are listed here anyway): Purple Scarab : 10 points. Snake : 20 points. Skull : 30 points. Dragon : 40 points. --------------------------------------------- 4. With only three lives, this task seems downright hard if not impossible. However, if you keep the following tips in mind, it should ease your journey : * You don't have to kill everything. In fact, the monsters will keep coming back no matter how many you kill. However, it is a good idea to eliminate anything that walks in your way. * Enemies will not touch your starting point or any place where a ring, key or door was. Use these places as "safe spots" from monsters....You'll live longer. * At first, rings are as important as keys. But once you get the gun, rings become optional. * Monsters always appear from the same areas and always have the same limit per level. Don't worry about a snake appearing out of nowhere, or the screen having 20 skulls running rampant. * Remember, there is no timer. You can stay in a safe spot for hours and never be penalized for it. So if it looks too dangerous, just wait a while for it to clear out. --------------------------------------------- 5. Level 1 (3 rings, 1 door, scarabs and snakes): This game starts out a little rough, but nothing unhandle-able. Start by heading for the key, then grabbing the cyan ring(500 points). If you get mobbed on your way out, use the key's area to protect yourself(with the doors, of course). Once it's secure, make your way to the green ring(650 points). If you want the blue ring(650 points), head up the "shaft" directly to the left of your starting point and walk across the top. Then head down the far left side to the door. Level 2 : (2 rings, 2 doors, scarabs and skulls): Grab the red ring(600 points) below your starting point before the monsters begin flowing out of there. Go left and tap the vertical door closest to the door, so the monsters will keep away from it. Now hurry and go after the key and purple ring(600 points) before the enemies smother the path near them. Now, you might have noticed there were two doors but only one key. So now what? Well, take your key to the door and open it. Surprise! There's now a key in the lower-left corner. Lure the enemies out of the "key bin" from one side, then enter the bin from the other side and get the key. Now get back to the door and get out of this stage! Level 3 : (2 rings, 2 doors, snakes and dragons) Head down immediately and get the green ring(300 points). This will FINALLY give you a gun! Now that you are armed, head for the key up top, then the doors. Pop the key in and watch as the second key appears to your left inside the "G". Grab the cyan ring(500 points) at your leisure. What did you say? "I can't move down after I open the first door."? Well, the character has a tendency to get stuck on the "door-frame". Just tap left and it will clear it. Level 4 : (2 rings, 2 doors, scarabs and dragons) Start by grabbing the key and running to the red ring(400 points). Now head for the purple ring(600 points), and then the door. Once again, the second key appears. It's about in the same X/Y coordinates as last time, but you'll have to go through a longer run-around to reach it. Worse yet, the monsters are probably piled at that center door. Push through when it's safe and don't stop moving! Level 5 : (2 rings, 2 doors, skulls and dragons) Now it's getting a little more serious. This blue nightmare will leave you wide open to attack while you are crossing the center grid. Also, the doors are set there....how nice. Start by grabbing the red ring(500 points) and heading down to the bottom. Once there, run for the yellow ring(650 points). Now grab the key and unlock door #1. Now key #2 appears....in the lower-left corner. Do your best to avoid the enemies as you head back through the swarm. Grab the key and open the door....you'll be treated to a quick scene of....someone(perhaps the queen herself?). Level 6 : (3 rings, 1 door, skulls and scarabs) Deja vu? Except for the walls colors and the insertion of skulls, this looks exactly like level 1! As such, treat it the same way except for one thing.....have fun with the gun you didn't have on level 1. Oh yes, the ring amounts are changed as well : Cyan ring(200 points), green ring(600 points), blue ring(600 points). Level 7 : (2 rings, 2 doors, snakes and dragons) Hope you enjoyed that last level because the fun ends here. This is where you start the levels with "vanishing monsters". All monsters will now vanish and reappear at will. While they are invisible, they can easily ambush you. Thankfully, they are otherwise normal monsters. The green ring(400 points) is tempting, but it is next to a monster den. If you want it, get it early on. Now head for the red ring(450 points) and the key. Be careful heading back. There will could be a horde waiting for you anywhere. Watch closely, then make your move. And where is the second key? Directly to your left....near a monster den. The joys are endless, aren't they? Level 8 : (2 rings, 2 doors, skulls and snakes) Okay. This can be the fastest level, but it is also a dangerous one. Head for the blue ring(550 points), the red ring(550 points), then the key. Keep following the path you are on to the doors, as it is the most horizontal path to the doors(though a slightly longer way around). So, where's the other key? Near the lower left again. I suggest going around the border to the key, then take the path you originally took to get to the first key to get back to the door. Level 9 : (0 rings, 4 doors, skulls and dragons) Okay, start crying. No extra shots, disappearing monsters, and a lot of doors to go through. Your only real safe spot is that space with the 4 cyan corners surrounding it.....in the middle of a large grid that is mostly vertical! Well, start by grabbing the key in the upper left and placing it in the first door. Be extra careful, as there are no rotating doors that will save you here. The second key is above the first set of doors. This passage is mostly vertical and has a monster den nearby, so be wary of ambushes. The third key appears where the first key was(the upper-right corner). By now there should be a horde out there, so just run around the border to the safe spot, then pop out and grab the key. The real trick is making it back to the door, but using the same path should give you an edge. Just wait for the moment and run, firing like a maniac! The last key is above the fourth door. There are no spawners on the path to this key. This last key is the easiest of the level, so savour the moment as you grab and pop into the last door. With that, you see another image of the mysterious woman....and then your prize. Congratulations! --------------------------------------------- 6. I thank PROGAME and Greggy(whomever he may be) for this interesting game.....definitely a little unique. Actually, that's it. No one else helped with this, game or otherwise.... --------------------------------------------- 7.
