One of Capcom and Marvel's first ever joint game for the arcade, I first played this game in 1993, at my local arcade on a resort island (Langkawi, at the now defunct arcade WyWy Wonderspace, Jetty Point, if you're curious - I still remember the place like it was yesterday.) It was also one of my first visits to a rather organised arcade, which used tokens instead of 50 sen coins. Anyway, this FAQ will guide you through the game, a list of all weapons, enemies and bosses - a complete walkthrough for each and every level. Note that this FAQ isn't spoiler-free. I assume that you want to win, and I'm telling you how - regardless of storyline (I won't give away everything at once; don't worry.) I don't mind if you use this FAQ on your page, as long as you ask my permission for it, and you give me credit, and if you have any tips/hints/glitches, comments, anything about this game or the FAQ, or even about me (yikes!) drop me an e-mail at: ztwc2@doramail.com Alternatively, come to my site at www.vogz.cjb.net And post your questions in the forums, where I shall reply to them. ----------------- GAME INTRODUCTION ----------------- As you may know, The Punisher is a Marvel character, on a Capcom machine. Perhaps one of Capcom and Marvel's first ever joint game for the arcade, the game was released in 1993 at arcades worldwide. It had great graphics, and even better gameplay, which got me hooked to it then first place, and most importantly, it was fun! Unlike the Final Fight Guy series, this bash- 'em-up game had an array of weapons and techniques that you could use, simply not available on other games of the genre. The game consisted of 2 main characters; Punisher, and Nick Fury. They behaved alike in every way, save for the animation graphics. Gameplay itself was tough; I remember shoving 10 coins to get to the final boss, and losing there - alas, I ran out of coins. Unfortunate, eh? It's nearly impossible to get past the whole game without spending an extra credit or two; enemies were abundant throughout the stage, and some were rather smart, in an AI sense. The game was a hit, and from that day onwards, Marvel and Capcom have become inseparable - one only has to look at the Marvel VS Capcom series to see why. They've made a great, absolutely brilliant transposition of the original comic series into a video game. One of the best bash-em-up games ever - if not the best, and my personal favourite for many years. If you see this game lying about in abandoned section of the arcade, just go to the counter, change your cash to a token or two, and give this one a try. You won't regret it. +=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+= THE STORY... HOW IT ALL BEGAN. +=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+= The story of The Punisher begins like so, according to the game... "New York, a jungle of steel and concrete. Where predators mercilessly prey on all. Anytime, anywhere." "Central Park, an oasis offering respite from the grey. Here, Frank Castle enjoys a picnic with his family." "On that day, the Castle family accidentally discovered a brutal mob killing. Fearing witnesses, the killers gunned down the hapless family." "On that day Frank Castle's family died." "On that day Frank Castle died." "On that day I was born. To avenge all and others like them." "I am... The Punisher." "If you're guilty, you're dead." So, there you have it, how the game all begins. Frank Castle is no longer; The Punisher lives. A no-nonsense justice figure, his motto makes him look more like the baddie instead of the good guys. If you're guilty, he kils you - no questions asked, that's how he works. Baddies beware. ---------------------- CHARACTERS IN THE GAME ---------------------- -= [The Punisher] NAME....... Frank Castle WHO........ Former U.S Marine Captain turned Punisher. WHY........ Wants to avenge his family, after being killed by Bruno and his pals. The main character. Frank Castle becomes the Punisher after his family gets killed, according to the story above. Wears a blue outfit, with a huge white skull in the front - his trademark t-shirt, just like in the comics! Cold-hearted and kills criminals without a second thought, and without mercy. .-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-. -= [Nick Fury] NAME....... Nick Fury WHO........ Agent for S.H.I.E.L.D. WHY........ Unknown The game never tells you why Nick makes an appearance here, but here's what I know. Nick is an agent for S.H.I.E.L.D, a special organisation dealing with criminals of the worst kind. Nick has taken the superhuman serum - the same one that Captain America took, hence his superhuman powers. Nick's the nice guy in the game; he doesn't kill unless he absolutely needs to do so. .-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-. -= [Bruno] NAME....... Bruno WHO........ The idiot who ordered the kiling of Castle's family, and one of Kingpin's henchmen. WHY........ They were witnesses to a mob killing, that he was involved in. Bruno, Bruno. At first, he was the main guy behind all this crap, but as the game progresses, you learn that he works for the Kingpin - the biggest baddie of 'em all! .-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-. -= [Kingpin] NAME....... Kingpin WHO........ The boss of all the baddies in the game WHY........ Just another evil person who isn't as ambitious as other evil crime lords - he only wants to take over the city instead of total world domination on everyone else's mind. It would be easire to run for mayor, and bribe your henchmen to vote for you, you fool! Much simpler than violence. Ah, the Kingpin. Boss of all baddies, and now we know the cause of all your problems - this guy. How to solve it? Why, more senseless violence by killing him, of course! (The game doesn't work much for morals - but is a great beat-em-up, I assure you.) +=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+ BASIC CONTROLS/COMMANDS +=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+ Okay, now that we know a thing or two about the game, let's view the controls. Here are what they do: A Button.............. Jump B Button.............. Punch, pick up stuff, use weapon, shoot The D-Stick........... Obviously, used to move. Up, Down, Front, Back. Simple, no? --------------- DASHING/ROLLING --------------- You can move faster by dashing - press the same direction twice, i.e. FRONT FRONT will make your character roll forward, BACK BACK will make your character roll backwards, UP UP and so on. To stop a roll, cease holding the direction button. Your character should stop instantly, free to move. You can combo a dash with a kick i.e. FRONT FRONT PUNCH, will result in your character rolling forward, and kicking after the roll. This will knockdown anyone in your way. ---------------- PICKING UP STUFF ---------------- There are a number of things along the game to pick up; from samurai swords to arcade machines, you can pick them up and throw/slice/smash the enemy with this. Pick up by walking over it, and pressing PUNCH. Your character should pick up the item below him, and and previous item he was holding will be dropped; the new item will be held instead. This does not apply to non-weapon items, such as food, hand grenades and money/gold/jewelry. To get rid of a certain weapon that can't be thrown, simply jump and press PUNCH. Your character should toss the weapon at the direction he's facing. -------------- LINKING COMBOS -------------- All punches can be linked, like in all other beat-em-up games. Punch an enemy 3 times and the punches will automatically link together, and end with a kick - in other words, the more you mash the B button while punching an enemy, the enemy gets punched repeatedly till the combo finishes, which usually results in the enemy getting stunned. If you just mash rapidly, your character will punch the enemy 4 times, the last hit being a powerful kick. If you press FRONT while bashing up an enemy, the coup de gras will be a powerful, forward-moving punch, knocking down anything in its way. You can also combo an attack into the Slash Kick, explained below. -------- THROWING -------- You can throw an enemy at his allies to make them fall like tenpins, or combine it with the Special Attack to whirl him around like the guys in WWE do - but first, you have to pick him up. To pick up an enemy, walk up to him. Your character should have him in his grasp, ready to throw! You have 3 choices here: 1) Throw him at his allies by pressing Punch 2) Combine it with the Special Attack by pressing both A+B - anything in range will get hit, but with every hit you make, you take slight damage 3) Execute the headcrusher, by jumping, and pressing DOWN + PUNCH. -------------- THE SLASH KICK -------------- If you're a fan of the Street Fighter series, you may know Guile's Flash Kick, where a cresent-shaped slash appears after an overhead kick. It's in this game, too - execute by pressing DOWN, UP and PUNCH. Once excecuted, your character will do a quick kick on the ground, emmiting a blue cresent slashing through anything in its way, and slicing through humans, with a bloody, juicy sound to match :) Use this to take care of numerous enemies, or to show off. ------------------ THE SPECIAL ATTACK ------------------ Your character has a special attack, executed by pressing both B and A buttons together. If done correctly, your character should flash pink-yellow, and execute a sweeping move that knocks down anyone in range. You are invincible during this move - but for every hit on the enemy, your life will be deducted by a bit (your punishment for being invincible.) This can be executed while standing, but can also be done while dashing, advancing forward as you sweep the area. The Dashing Special lasts longer, hits more and takes the same amount of life as the standing version. ------------ GRENADE TOSS ------------ If things get too rowdy, you can keep under check by tossing a grenade every now and then. Throw a grenade by jumping, and pressing both B and A (special attack on air.) Your character should double jump on air, and toss a grenade which results in a huge explosion, burning everyone below. You can also toss a grenade without jumping - press BACK and B+A. Your character will fling a grenade in the direction he is facing, and lie down flat in the opposite direction, to avoid being hit by shrapnel. ------------------ FIRING YOUR PISTOL ------------------ The Punisher may be a merciless vigalante hero, who kills without mercy - but he plays fair. He doesn't take out his pistol and fire unless the baddies do so, or if he's up against robotic enemies. Hence, you can only fire your pistol if you meet an enemy armed with a firearm or against any robot onscreen. Nothing else. To fire, press PUNCH. You may notice that there is a crosshair in front of you, indicating where your shot'll go. It locks on by itself; just face the enemy and fire away. Don't worry about ammo; you have an infinite number of those... EVIL TIP: If you want to use your gun more often, don't kill the baddies with the guns first - preserve them till other baddies arrive, at which point you can use your gun to mow everyone down. Be warned though; if you kill the gun baddies, you can't use your gun anymore. +=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+= ITEM LIST/STUFF TO PICK UP +=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+= Here are a list of items you'll see along the game. I'm listing them down by type, and what effect they have on you - a complete item list. The enemy list comes later. ----- FOOD ----- Well, every beat-em-up game has food - don't say you haven't seen this before! Food is used to replenish your life gauge, located at the top of the screen. Different kinds of food will replenish a specific amount of life. Here they are: Cheese............... 10% of health bar Pizza Slice.......... 20% of health bar Sausages............. 40% of health bar Full Pizza........... 50% of health bar Chicken.............. 70% of health bar Lobster.............. Health revitalised to maximum value Meat................. Health revitalised to maximum value ------- WEAPONS ------- There are also a lot of weapons along the way; from axes, to baseball bats to shurikens and a bunch of other strange stuff that you can toss at the enemy. The game doesn't hold back any violence; everything's there, limited only by your creativity - and given in shovels. Knife.................... Each item gives you different points; some much more than others. Here they are, what they do: Money (notes)............ 1000 points; there by default/under destroyables Money (bags)............. 3000 points; there by defauls/under destroyables Money (suitcase!)........ 20000 points; there by default/under destroyables Pistols.................. 800 points; left by the gun baddies when they die Gold Bar................. 16000 points; under destroyables Sapphire................. 6000 points; obtain by killing a Mizure/under destroyables +=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+ STAGE WALKTHROUGH/FAQ +=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+ Finally, the part you've been waiting for, the walkthrough! Here I explain every level in detail, the enemies about, sectors and the storyline dialogue, for Punisher, Nick, and both Punisher and Nick together, as each character has a different dialogue. Note that if you play the game with a partner, the enemies that appear will be more, to deal with the both of you. Ready? Here go! --------------------------------------- STAGE ONE: Back To The War/First Strike --------------------------------------- -= [SECTOR 1] "I am the Punisher!" rings a cry from above, where the Punisher drops down. In Sector 1, you find yourself in a casino of some kind, judging by the atmosphere, where Bruno's henchmen hang out. There will be 4 henchmen altogether in this sector, and some cash for you to pick up. Smash the destroyables to get more stuff. .-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-. [Punisher] Bruno : What's going on back there? The Punisher! Punisher : You can run, but you can't hide! .-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-. [Nick Fury] Bruno : Knock off the noise! Fury! Nick : Same old dirty tricks, Bruno? .-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-. [Punisher & Nick] Bruno : What the... How did you get in?! Punisher : Time to face justice. Nick : Let's have a little chat. .-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-. -= [SECTOR 2] Your first gunfight! 2 gun baddies will appear from the right, so shoot 'em down. Once done, proceed right and take out everyone there - there are a lot of people, and watch out for Leon, the knife-throwing chap. -= [SECTOR 3]: BOSS The Punisher jumps onto the hood of a car, and chases Bruno down. The Punisher leaps into the back screen of a bus, where Bruno is. Time for a boss fight, so stay alert! PRE-BOSS DIALOGUE .-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-. [Punisher] Punisher : You're finished now, Bruno! Bruno : Scully, get him! .-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-. [Nick Fury] Nick : It's all over Bruno. Bruno : I leave him to your tender care! .-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-. [Punisher & Nick] Punisher : Now you'll get what you deserve! Nick : Give it up Bruno! Bruno : You're real funny for a couple of dead guys! .-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-. [BOSS]: Scully; 120000 points Scully's a pushover, and one of the easiest bosses in the game. Just keep hitting him, and a grenade or two wouldn't hurt much either. The thing to look out for are the henchmen, as there are a lot of them, so use the grenades! POST-BOSS DIALOGUE .-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-. [Punisher] Punisher : Tell me where your boss is! Scully : Please, don't kill me. He's at Castle Pantaberde, Florida. Punisher : Thanks and good-bye! (Punisher shoots Scully in the head, killing him) .-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-. [Nick Fury] Nick : Where's Bruno's hideout? Scully : Wait! I'll talk, I'll talk! He's at Castle Pantaberde, Florida. Nick : Thanks and pleasant dreams. (Nick kicks Scully, leaving him unconscious) .-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-. [Punisher & Nick] Punisher : Where can I find Bruno? Nick : He's just a stooge, let him go. Scully : Ok, I'll talk! Just don't kill me. He, he's at Castle Pantaberde, in Florida. Punisher : Say hello to Bruno when you see him! Nick : Hey! You son of a... (Punisher shoots Scully in the head) -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= ------------------------------------------------- STAGE 2: Raid On Pantaberde/Assault on Pantaberde ------------------------------------------------- CUTSCENE DIALOGUE . . . . . . . . . . [Punisher] Punisher : The only way to get into that castle is via the drain pipe of the swimming pool. Bruno won't escape me this time. .-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-. [Nick Fury] Nick: Let's hope that Bruno doesn't go for midnight swims. .-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-. [Punisher & Nick] Punisher : We can get inside the castle via the pool drain. Once inside, I can nail Bruno for good. Nick : I'm suppossed to be in Waikiki Beach in Hawaii about now, so why am I sewer dipping with you? .-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-. -= [SECTOR 1] The Punisher jumps out of the pool, sounding off the alarm system. Smash the beach chairs you see there; there are a lot of valuble items hidden in it. Kill everybody and move on. Oh, when you kill the ninja-ladies, a ring with a crystal will appear. Don't forget to collect it! -= [SECTOR 2] This sector starts off with a gunfight. Mow down everyone there, and smash open the cell doors. The first and last doors contain a prisoner, Barbara. Let her hug you saying "Thank you!" and that will heal your life bar by a bit. The middle one contains a rat. No, not a criminal rat, but rat rat, aka mice, small furry thing. Smash all the henchmen you see, but watch out for Red Lamp - he's carrying a flamethrower, and that hurts a lot. Kill him, grab the flamethrower away and use it against the baddies. That'll teach 'em. -= [SECTOR 3]: BOSS You eventually end up in Bruno's bedroom, where he and his henchmen are waiting. Boss fight here, be ready. PRE-BOSS DIALOGUE . . . . . . . . . . [Punisher] Bruno : I don't die so easily. Punisher : Time for justice! (Laser beam burns all men; Bruno included) Punisher : What the... Bruno! Guardroid : I have been programmed by the Kingpin to terminate you! .-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-. [Nick Fury] Bruno : You're a dead man Fury! Nick : Can't you think of something better than that? (Laser beam burns all men; Bruno included) Nick : What in Sam Hill, Bruno! Guardroid : By order of the Kingpin you are to be terminated. .-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-. [Punisher & Nick] Bruno : Don't insult my IQ! Punisher : Say hello to Scully. Nick : Wait, Castle! Don't kill him! (Laser beam burns all men; Bruno included) Punisher : Bruno!! Nick : Why?! Guardroid : I have been programmed by the Kingpin to terminate you! .-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-. BOSS: Guardroid; points 200000 Okay, this boss is a bit tougher than Scully. Stay away from his Lasers at all costs, those hurt a lot, and watch out for his jumps; they'll stun you, and you'll drop any weapon you're holding. Evade its Lasers by using your Special Attack - you're invulnerable, remember? Grenades work best here; use them a lot. Oh, at the far side of the sector you can see Bruno's bed. Destroy it to get some goodies to help you on your way. POST-BOSS DIALOGUE . . . . . . . . . . [Punisher] Punisher : Kingpin! I knew he was behind all this! .-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-. [Nick Fury] Nick : Kingpin! You're going down this time Fisk! .-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-. [Punisher & Nick] Punisher : Kingpin! Nick : The top boss in the mob! -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= -------------------------------------------- STAGE 3: Waterfront Warfare/Tricks And Traps -------------------------------------------- CUTSCENE DIALOGUE . . . . . . . . . . [Punisher] Punisher : There's a major drug deal going down at the harbor tonight. It's a chance for me to blow them out of the water. .-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-. [Nick Fury] Nick: The information I got on the harbor drugs deal checks out. I can go in there and knock their butts before they can peddle their poison. .-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-. [Punisher & Nick] Punisher : There's a major drug deal going down at the harbor tonight. We can flush that scum right back into the ocean. Nick : You're a real charm boy, aren't you Castle. Let's try not to rack up too big a body count, okay? .-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-. -= [SECTOR 1] Okay now, you can smash the car in front of you to prevent any other baddies from coming out. Engage them in a gunfight, and kill them all. You'll meet a tougher kind of henchman here, called Gus, and like Scully, he can block your attacks. After another gunfight, pick the M-16 Gaulee leaves behind when he dies - this is cool. When you come to the area with Pretty Boys, or the skeleton-like robots, beware when you destroy them - they'll leave a Pretty Head behind, which will explode in a few seconds. You can pick it up an bomb the enemies with this, no sweat. Also, Pretty Boys will sometimes leave some food behind, that you can take - usually cheese. Once the sector is complete, your character will execute a special attack upon the sacks of cocaine above you, and jump up into the window. -= [SECTOR 2] Nothing much here, really. Just watch out at the first corridor heading to the left, where there will be a kung-fu guy waiting to give you a flying kick. Smash the tyres in the last corridor; there'll be some sausages, which replenish your life. -= [SECTOR 3]: BOSS Here, a boss fight ensues, so do keep some grenades left over... PRE-BOSS DIALOGUE . . . . . . . . . . [Punisher] Bonebreaker : Die in your own blood, baby! .-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-. [Nick Fury] Bonebreaker : I'll grind you into tread jam! .-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-. [Punisher & Nick] Bonebreaker : I'll roll all over you, baby! .-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-. BOSS: Bonebreaker; points 360000 Watch out for this guy. Part man, part tank, he runs around the stage trying to "grind you into tread jam", fires his flamethrower at you or releases half a dozen missiles on the ground. Evade the missiles using the Special Attack, but watch out for the henchmen. You can use your gun a lot here, as most of them are gun baddies. Also, there will be some Pretty Boys once you get his life down to a bit, so watch out. Grenades, use the grenades! You can try to take him out from range via your pistol, but watch out for his flamethrower and forward dash. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= ------------------------------ BONUS STAGE... SHOOT 'EM DOWN! ------------------------------ Remember Street Fighter? In the middle of the game, you'll come to a bonus stage, where you had to destroy cars, break barrels and so on and so forth. Capcom brings the same concept to this game, where you have to shoot 20 barrels falling down from above. Shoot all down in succession and you earn 200000 points; plus 2000 for each barrel shot down, making a maximum of 240000 points. If both Nick and Punisher are available, there will be 30 barrels tumbling down, and the person who shoots down the most barrels gets the perfect credit, provided all are shot down. If you shoot 15 each, the credits will be split equal. TIP: I reccommend aiming in the middle of the screen - so that you can have a go at all of them at once, both top and bottom row. Very easy perfect! -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= ---------------------------------------------- STAGE 4: Death On Rails/Next Stop, Destruction ---------------------------------------------- CUTSCENE DIALOGUE . . . . . . . . . . [Punisher] Punisher : They've got a huge poppy field and a mobile factory, all in one underground cave in Arizona. Let's throw a little wrench in the Kingpin's plans! .-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-. [Nick Fury] Nick: My info says the Kingpin's got a huge poppy field complete with mobile processing factory, underground in Arizona. Humble spice dealer, ha-pretty potent spice. .-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-. [Punisher & Nick] Punisher : They've got a huge poppy field and a mobile factory, all in one underground cave in Arizona. Nick : Well, let's pay them a little visit, help with the weeding and vermin elimination! .-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-. -= [SECTOR 1] There are a lot of crates here, make sure you break them and grab all the stuff. There will be some gun baddies before you step on the train, and some weapons inside the crates. -= [SECTOR 2] Okay, once you hop onto the train, it'll start to move. Don't worry about jumping to the left, you won't fall. Pay attention to the open doorway facing you. Some bad guys will come out, all in a row, one by one. Smack 'em and move on. You should see a cement bag, and a lot of baddies will appear, from Leons to Mizures. Done? Okay, make your way up. See those power coils up there? If you hit them, they start to blink, and eventually explode. Use this to your advantage, as enemies can also get hit by the explosion. Head straight, you'll encounter many Chrys, and come to a conveyour belt, with a Red Lamp holding a Samurai sword. Grab it, and slash everyone in the way. Oh, break the crane you see to get a flamethrower (hee-hee.) After that, you will climb down again (in this case, jump) and find 2 Gus enemies. Smash them, and your character(s) will toss a hand grenade to smash open the entire cabin, revealing the boss. No, it will not deplete your stock of grenades, if you're curious. -= [SECTOR 3]: BOSS In the interior of the train, is the boss - Bushwhacker. Good luck! . . . . . . . . . . [Punisher] Bushwhacker : Welcome Punisher, all aboard the Death Express! .-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-. [Nick Fury] Bushwhacker : You look chilled. Let's warm you to the bone! .-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-. [Punisher & Nick] Bushwhacker : Welcome gentlemen, it's showtime! .-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-. BOSS: Bushwhacker; points 480000 Wow, this guy is tough. He'll run about the stage firing missiles from his hand, which morphs into a missile launcher - firing 4 at once. The missiles do a huge amount of damage and also burn you down. Making things worse are the henchmen all around you. Take him out by ounches, or a grenade. Don't go gung-ho; you'll get smashed. Instead, hit him little by litle, run away, and when you think it's safe, go for another blow, or pick up his henchmen and throw them at him from range (I reccommend doing this ifyou're low on life). Apart from that annoying missile launcher, he can also block your attacks, punch you rapidly and execute a spinning attack using his arms (think Zangief.) Oh, note that there is a suit of armor behind you - smash it and grab the lance. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= ----------------------------------------------- STAGE 5: Kingpin's Wrath/The Wrath And The Fury ----------------------------------------------- CUTSCENE DIALOGUE . . . . . . . . . . [Punisher] Kingpin : The Punisher has caused me enough damage! Find where he's hiding and bring me his head! Punisher : Someone's here already! (A bunch of Micks and Jaggers bust open the wall) Mick : I've found the Punisher! Now I'll have your head! .-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-. [Nick Fury] Kingpin : Blast you Fury! You've just signed your death warrant! Nick : I smell a rat nearby! (A bunch of Micks and Jaggers bust open the wall) Mick : I've finally found you Fury! Now I'll have your head! .-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-. [Punisher & Nick] Kingpin : This time you've gone too far! I'll crush you under my heel like the insects you are! Punisher : We're surrounded! Nick : You noticed! By the way, where's my lighter? (A bunch of Micks and Jaggers bust open the wall) Mick : I've finally found you Punisher! Now I'll have your head! .-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-. -= [SECTOR 1] You're in the sewers. Get a whiff of that pungent smell... Ugh. Anyway, there are a lot of people here, and doors. Don't bother busting 'em open, only rats will come out here. Items under sewage water (bleurgh!) are indicated by... Well, some foaming on top. Simply put, if you see a part of the water foaming, there's an item underneath. What it is, heaven knows... You'll just have to see for yourself. Halfway down the sewers, you'll jump down, where you'll encounter some Gus. Smash them and grab all the weapons from the crates. Just before you exit this sector, some Pretty Boys will appear. -= [SECTOR 2] Great, you're out of da stinkin' sewers! Head straight to da jungle now. Now, sometimes some oil drums will be rolling towards you. These will knockdown, and do some damage at the same time. You can evade them, or smash them by making use of your Slash Kicks - these contain many valueble goodies inside, don't let them go! Enemies will be coming from an alcove between the trees, like doors so keep an eye on them paths. Next, lots of ninja-ladies will appear, and you meet the boss. NOTE: You may notice that the song from the first stage plays here too. -= [SECTOR 3] You can see the city from here; Kingpin's hideout. Oh-oh. Here comes something... PRE-BOSS DIALOGUE . . . . . . . . . . [Punisher] Guardroid 2 : Target confirmed. Terminate immediately! .-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-. [Nick Fury] Guardroid 2 : Target confirmed. Neutralize immediately! .-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-. [Punisher & Nick] Guardroid 2 : Targets confirmed. Proceed and terminate! .-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-. BOSS: Guardroid 2; points 600000 Heh. You thought the original Guardroid was tough? Think again. Everything remains the same with the original Guardroid, except this time its armor has been upgraded by a considerable amount and it's clad in red. Its laser is also much faster than the original, and a faster ramming speed, but apart from that everything remains the same. Grab all you can from the henchmen - machine guns, bombs, knives; and throw grenades - and prepare to lose a life. I reccommend employing a hit-and-run technique... Hit when the surrounding is safe, go back to running away when the boss starts attacking. POST-BOSS DIALOGUE . . . . . . . . . . [Punisher] Punisher : Kingpin! Your luck's finally run out. .-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-. [Nick Fury] Nick : Come on Fisk, let's put an end to this so's I can grab a good cigar and a little R&R. .-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-. [Punisher & Nick] Punisher : Kingpin! You're finally gonna pay for all that you've done! Nick : Knock it off, Castle! I told you we don't kill those punks. Unless we have to. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= ------------------------------------------ LAST STAGE: Final Punishment/Final Verdict ------------------------------------------ CUTSCENE DIALOGUE . . . . . . . . . . [Punisher] (Punisher holds up enourmous bazooka towards hotel) Punisher : I know he's hiding somewhere in this hotel! It ends for you tonight Kingpin, I swear it! (Punisher fires bazooka into hotel, making a huge hole) .-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-. [Nick Fury] Nick : So, this is where Fisk and I will have our final battle. (Punisher holds up enourmous bazooka towards hotel) Nick : We better make it quick. I have a date with Kate tonight! (Punisher fires bazooka into hotel, making a huge hole) .-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-. [Punisher & Nick] Punisher : He must be in that hotel. It's time to nail that scumbag once and for all! (Punisher holds up enourmous bazooka towards hotel) Nick : A bazooka! Get real Castle! When this is done you and I are going to have a long talk! (Punisher fires bazooka into hotel, making a huge hole) .-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-. -= [SECTOR 1] You're in the Kingpin Building; the home of the Kingpin himself. Take out all the gun baddies on your way in, and bust through the aluminium walls. Once inside, there will be many, many people, and even some flamethrower-wielding Red Lamps. Grab the Lance from the suits of armor around you and make your way through. It's a long way (not to mention full of enemies), but you'll make it eventually - albeit a lot of trouble. -= [SECTOR 2] Okay, now you're on an elevator to the top floor. When I say on an elevator, I mean ON an elevator - you're standing next to the cables. Lots of gun baddies will drop down, and sticks of TNT. These will blow up after a few moments, so use them to your advantage by picking them up and tossing them at the enemy. The explosion will spread; hitting many enemies at once. Apart fom that, there's a new gun baddie here - looks like Gaulee but is tougher. You'll need to beat the crap outta him in order to kill him. -= [SECTOR 3] This is the first (and only) stage with 4 sectors. You're now at the top of the Kingpin Building, the elevator control room. There are a lot of pipes here; smash them for goodies. Also, there are all kinds of enemies here, ranging from ninja ladies to Pretty Boys. Keep your grenades for what's about to come, don't use 'em all! Once done, your character will roll a hand grenade onto the floor, breaking it - and coming into the Kingpin's chambers from above. Clever, no? -= [SECTOR 4]: BOSS At last we meet, Kingpin. How are things? My, you're a fat person! Okay, this is it - the final boss. Good luck - don't forget to have a spare token or two; don't let what happened to me many years ago happen again to you. PRE-BOSS DIALOGUE . . . . . . . . . . Kingpin : Your ridiculous little vendetta ends now, Punisher! Punisher : It's all over Kingpin; you're through! .-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-. [Nick Fury] Kingpin : Mr. Fury - you have annoyed me long enough! Nick : Slow down, smile once in a while. You'll live longer. .-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-. [Punisher & Nick] Kingpin : Do you realise how outclassed you are? Neither of you will leave here alive! Punisher : You're all alone now, no one can help you! Nick : Castle, you and I are going to have it out someday, and you won't like the results! .-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-. FINAL BOSS: The Kingpin' points 1200000 (1.2 million !!!) Pheew! This is the toughest of 'em all. He's huge, weighs a ton and the cause of all your troubles. Grab all the items about; they'll come in very useful when trying to kill him. He has more henchmen than usual - use them to your advantage by tossing them at the Kingpin, doing some damage and stunning him. He has 3 main attacks; punching, blowing cigaratte smoke(among other things) and raising his staff, and that a laser beam comes out, burning everything in sight. The last does a lot of damage; be sure to see it coming. Apart from that, note that you can pick up the Kingpin himself and throwthe Kingpin at the baddies! Good luck, and an extra credit beside you wouldn't hurt much :) POST-BOSS DIALOGUE . . . . . . . . . . [Nick Fury] Nick : Goodnight fat boy! .-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-. [Punisher & Nick] Nick : Oh no! The whole building is gonna blow! Punisher : Damn! We've got to get out of here! Punisher : Goodnight fat boy! .-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= ----------------------- WICKED! YOU'VE DONE IT! ----------------------- Well, well. Looks like you've finished the game - my all-time favourite beat-em-up! Fun, huh? Wanna have another go? Thought so. Before that, check your balance in your purse, and make sure you have enough cash... You should have spent a lot of it trying to get to this point :) Sit back, and enjoy the credits roll, with Nick and Frank shooting at the letters that make up the credits. If you could shoot that fast, you'd take out any boss in 5 seconds flat! ------------------------ AND SO THE STORY GOES... ------------------------ .-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-. As the Kingpin faced his final defeat at the Punisher's hands, the King Building, with its support structure badly damaged, collapsed... its dying echo reverberating through the city like the anguished roar of an exorcised demon. With his defeat and the King Building's collapse, the Kingpin's empire of sin began to disintergrate. Without his powerful guiding hand it soon tore itself apart. But for the Punisher, while the battle has been won, the war goes on. For him there is no rest from the war until there is no evil left on Earth to fight. An impossible task? Perhaps. Is it his fate to fight a neverending war? A war that he can never really win? It doesn't matter. For he is a man who has accepted his fate. A man unable to escape his true destiny. That night, the Punisher vanished into the dark. Melting back into the shadows to stalk his prey. And the predators of New York shudder. Knowing that now they are being hunted. The next morning, the police searched through the rubble of the King Building. They found over 330 ex-criminals. But they could not find any body that could be identified as The Kingpin. Vengeance burns eternal. THE END .-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-. +=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+= TO BE CONTINUED... +=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+= Well, this is an almost completed walkthrough for the game, will be adding everything in future updates - all items listed, complete enemy list, full valuble items and a bunch of other stuff.
