Golden Axe is a classic and I thank Grandpa Castillo for having the PCB to the
Arcade version which this FAQ is based off of. The Genesis version is actually
different from the Arcade so don't pay this FAQ any mind if you are looking for
strategies.

         STORY
o---------------------o

The King and his daughter have been kidnapped by Death Adder and now its up to
three heroes to rescue them. Each of the heroes had loved ones killed by Death
Adder and his forces so they are looking to avenge them as well.

       CHARACTERS
o---------------------o

Ax Battler the Barbarian - His mother was killed by Death Adder. He has the
power of Earth and his magic is earthquake based.

Tyris Flare the Amazon - Her father and mother were killed by Death Adder. She
has the power of Fire and her magic is flame based.

Gilius Thunderhead the Dwarf - His brother was killed by Death Adder. He has
the power of Thunder and his powers are lightning based.

        CONTROLS
o---------------------o

Joystick - move in any direction

Attack - Attack with your weapon. If you stun the enemy, you can pick him/her
up and throw her at other enemies. You can also use the Attack button to attack
with the dragons you ride on.

Magic - Use magic to kill your foes. Ax can use up to Lvl. 4 Magic, Tyris can
use up to Lvl. 6 Magic, and Gilius can use up to Lvl 3. Magic. Get more magic
by collecting blue bottles from little dwarves.

Jump - Jump so you can evade attacks or hop over pits and other hazards.

      WALKTHROUGH
o---------------------o

-Stage 1-

Atttack the barbarians. After you defeat four of them, go right and kick the
dwarf for two magic bottles. Kick the barbarian away from the civilian he is
attacking then knock the amazon off the bird and use that bird to attack your
foes. Hop onto the upper rock and go right to attack the dwarf for magic then
go back down and attack the other dwarf below then attack the enemies on the
right. One hit will kill them each. Knock the barbarian off the other bird and
take out the Titans by never staying level with them as you attack. That way,
you won't be hit by their sledgehammer or their shoulderblock attacks. When you
kill them both, the level ends. 

-Stage 2-

Defeat the dwarves for magic and meat if you've taken damage. The meat comes
from the green dwarves.

-Stage 3-

Go right and when you drop down to the lower area, you can trick the enemies
into falling into the abyss on the left by dodging their charge attacks or by
either knocking or throwing them there. As you proceed, take out the enemy on
the dragon and use the blue dragon's fire to attack the enemies. Just remember
not to stay level with the enemy so their charge attack does knock you off. Get
the magic from the dwarf. Take out more amazons and some skeletons.

-Stage 4-
Defeat the dwarves for magic and meat.

-Stage 5-
Deafet the barbarians and get on the red dragon. Use it to defeat the barbarian
on the blue dragon. If you got 2 players, you can ride both, defeat the enemy
riding the bird. Move forward after all enemies are dead and hop over the gap.
A charging attack can clear the gap too. Defeat the two titans then get magic
from the dwarves. Get rid of the barbarians before facing the white knight. You
can defeat him with ease if you still ride the dragons.

-Stage 6-
Defeat the dwarves for magic and meat.

-Stage 7-
Defeat the barbaries then hop up the steps and take out some skeletons that rise
from the ground. Defeat a number of shadow barbarians that warp in and more of
the skeletons. Don't let them surround you.

-Stage 8-
Defeat the dwarves for magic and meat.

-Stage 9-
Defeat the skeletons. They are tough to fight. Knock the amazon off of the blue
dragon and burn everybod. Defeat the red knights here easily by getting them on
opposite sides of you then burn them as they get up. Go right and face some more
enemies including a Titan, skeleton, and a barbarian. Death Adder rises up, be
wary of his mighty swing but watch out for his magic bolts too. This the last
level so use your magic if needed. Hopefully you will still have magic bottles
on the floor to help you out for more magic. After he is down, Death Adder's own
axe will finish him off.
