MONSTER HUNTER 3 ULTIMATE Armor Set FAQ TABLE OF CONTENTS Introduction Skill Information and list Decorations Defense and Elemental Res Low Rank Armor Sets High Rank Armor Sets G Rank Armor Sets Credits INTRODUCTION Hello all my fellow monster hunters, this is FireMario12, writer of the Mario and Sonic Olympic games FAQs. I have noticed that there were no armor FAQs about MH3U so I thought I would make one. This guide is concerned only with full sets. I prefer using full sets over mixed sets, and so do many others, so this will be my recommending and comments on each set to help players make their decisions on armor to wear easier. Also, I am strictly a blademaster and do not know enough about gunning, so it will only be about blademaster armor. If you have any comments, criticism, help, or suggestions email me at awkerwin@gmail.com. SKILLS Skills are very useful abilities given by your armor/charm that give you boosts in stats, shorten animations, or awaken new powers in your character along with some other changes. To activate them, you must have enough skill points to activate the skill. Skill points come from armor, decorations, and talismans. Most skills need a total of 10 skill points to activate but some require 15 or 20. Anything less than the threshold will give no boost/skill. Some skills even have higher, more powerful versions that require more skill points. For example let's use the Attack up skill. The lowest level version of this skill, Attack Up Small, needs 10 skill points. 9 or lower won't cut it. Now if you manage to get 15, you will activate Attack Up Medium, and if you reach 20 you will activate Attack Up Large. Decorations are forged from jewels and another material dependant on the type of decoration. Using decorations and talismans can add skills that aren't even on your armor to start with which are very good to have. However, decorations can only be put on armor that has the right number of slots for the decoration. Decorations can take one, two, or three slots, as can armor. Naturally, bigger decorations wont fit in a lower number of slots. For example, a decoration that occupies 3 slots will not fit in a piece of armor that has only 1 slot. Defense Defense is a stat that determines how much damage you take. The higher the number the less damage you take, and vice versa. Defense on armor can be boosted with an armor sphere (and higher levels of them).Elemental resistances work the same way. The higher the resistance, the less damage you take from that element. If you are hit by an elemental attack, there is a good chance you will be inflicted with a blight. A blight is a negative status effect. Fireblight is like poison, but it can be gotten rid of by rolling a couple times. Waterblight causes your stamina to recover much slower. Iceblight makes your stamina deplete a lot faster. Thunderblight makes you more likely to be stunned. Dragonblight lowers your affinity and takes away your weapon's element while active. All can be cured with a nutberry and each have 2 levels of severity, light and severe. Light is identified by one symbol of that element by your name, and severe has 2 symbols. If you have a +10 resistance to an element, that elimantes the possibility of getting a severe blight of that element. If you get a +20 resistance to an element, it eliminates that blight from being able to affect you all together. For example, if you have a +20 resistance to fire, you can not get fireblight (but you still are hurt by fire attacks). LOW RANK ARMOR SETS First, here's the format I will be using for all of the armor sets Name (and any unique properties if it applies) Total Original Defense (With skill if applies) and number of slots Total Elemental resistances (With skill if applies) Helmet: Skill points Chest: Skill points (With Torso Up if in the armor) Gloves: Skill points Waist: Skill points Boots: Skill points Active Skills Comments RARITY 1 ARMORS Just boring gathering sets Leather Defense: 5 Slots: 2 Fire= -5, Water= 0, Ice= 0, Thunder=0, Dragon=5 Helmet: Speed Gather +2, Gathering+1, Whim +2 Chest: Speed Gather +3, Gathering +2, Whim +1 Gloves: Speed Gather +2, Gathering+2, Whim +1 Waist: Speed Gather +1, Gathering +3, Whim +3 Boots: Speed Gather +2, Gathering +2, Whim +3 Active skills: Speed Gathering +1, Gathering +1, Spirit's Whim This armor set is very good for gathering quests or just going out to the woods to gather. It has horrible defense though, so don't use it on big monsters (bosses) Piscine (Only 3 pieces) Defense: 9 Slots: 1 Fire= -6, Water=9, Ice=6, Thunder=-9, Dragon=0 Helmet: Oxygen +10, Current Res +1 Waist: Current Res +8, Swimming +2 Boots: Current Res +1, Swimming +8 Active Skills: Current Res Small, Olympic Swimmer, Endless Oxygen This armor set is pretty useless besides maybe gathering underwater, but that doesnt happen often and even when it does, there is always bubbles near by to make endless oxygen obsolete. Don't get this one Chainmail Defense: 20 Slots: 4 Fire=10, Water= 5, Ice=5, Thunder=-10, Dragon=0 Helmet: Combo Rate +4, Health +1, Hunger +1 Chest: Combo Rate +2, Health +3, Hunger +1 Gloves: Combo Rate +1, Health +3, Hunger +2 Waist: Combo Rate +1, Health +1, Hunger +4 Boots: Combo Rate +2, Health +2, Hunger +2 Active Skills: Combination +20%, Health +20, Halve Hunger Another useless armor set. I guess it's good for in the beginning of the game so you have a better combination success rate, and when the restaurant is unavailable, but after it comes, this armor is obsolete Hunter Defense: 30 Slots: 4 Fire=0, Water= 5, Ice=0, Thunder=-15, Dragon=0 Helmet: Ranger +2, Psychic +2, Poison -2 Chest: Ranger +1, Psychic +1, Poison -2 Gloves: Ranger +3, Psychic +1, Poison -1 Waist: Ranger +1, Psychic +3, Poison -1 Boots: Ranger +3, Psychic +3, Poison -1 Active Skills: Outdoorsman, Detect Ranger is an interesting skill, but its really only useful for fishing quests and if you want to cook in a gathering quest. Otherwise doesn't do anything else useful Loc Lac (Only 3 pieces) Defense: 15 Slots: 1 Fire=6, Water=-9, Ice=0, Thunder=3, Dragon=0 Chest: Dungmaster +3, Transporter +2, Hunger +3 Waist: Dungmaster +4, Transporter +3, Hunger +4 Boots: Dungmaster +3, Transporter +5, Hunger +3 Active Skills: Dung Bomb Expert, Pro Transporter, Halve Hunger This is The armor for transporting (egg) quests. Pro Transporter is a very useful ability for transporting quests and half hunger reduces the need for meat. Try to pair this up with the felyne skill, Felyne Lander, to make transporting quests even easier. Alloy Defense: 30 Slots: 3 Fire=-5, Water=5, Ice=-5, Thunder=-10, Dragon=0 Helmet: Expert +3, Sharpener +2, Wind Res +2, Gathering -2 Chest: Expert +2 (+4), Sharpener +1 (+2), Wind Res +2 (+4), Gathering -2 (-4) Gloves: Expert +2, Sharpener + 4, Wind Res +1, Gathering -1 Waist: Expert +1, Sharpener +2, Wind Res +1, Gathering -1 Boots: Torso Up Active Skills: Critical Eye +1, Speed Sharpening, Windproof Low This is a nice beginning set. Expert is a very good skill, while speed sharpening is handy. Not too bad besides the pretty bad resistances (which aren't that influencial anyways). You do have to do a Lot of mining for this set though... Bone Defense: 35 Slots: 4 Fire=5, Water=0, Ice=-10, Thunder=-5, Dragon=0 Helmet: Perception +2, Maestro +1, KO +1, Sleep -2 Chest: Perception +1, Maestro +1, KO +2, Sleep -2 Gloves: Perception +4, Maestro +1, KO +3, Sleep -1 Waist: Perception +2, Maestro +1, KO + 2, Sleep -1 Boots: Perception +1, Maestro +4, KO +2, Sleep -1 Active Skills: Capture Guru, Horn Maestro, Knockout King This is a very good beginning hunting horn set, having a boost in KO damage and in song effect time. Capture Guru is good for those beginning capture quests as well, if you haven't learned the timing yet RARITY 2 ARMORS The weaker main monster sets Bnahabra Defense: 45 Slots: 0 Fire=-20, Water=-5, Ice=-5, Thunder=10, Dragon=10 Helmet: Status +2, Paralysis +2, Sheathing +1, Attack -2 Chest: Status +2, Paralysis +1, Sheathing +2, Attack -2 Gloves: Status +2, Paralysis +1, Sheathing +3, Attack -2 Waist: Status +1, Paralysis +4, Sheathing +2, Attack -1 Boots: Status +3, Paralysis +2, Sheathing +2, Attack -1 Active Skills: Status Attack +1, Negate Paralysis, Quick Sheath This is a nice set for early status weapons. Only problems are that it takes a lot of bnahabra materials (ugh) and has no slots. Otherwise very nice for dealing status Rhenoplos Defense: 45 Slots: 4 Fire=5, Water=-5, Ice=-5, Thunder=-5, Dragon=5 Helmet: Artillery +1, KO +1, Mud/Snow +1, Ice Res -2 Chest: Artillery +2, KO +1, Mud/Snow +2, Ice Res -2 Gloves: Artillery +2, KO +3, Mud/Snow +1, Ice Res -2 Waist: Artillery +2, KO +2, Mud/Snow +3, Ice Res -1 Boosts: Artillery +3, KO +3, Mud/Snow +3, Ice Res -1 Active Skills: Artillery Novice, Knockout King, Negate Mud/Snow This set isn't very good. Artillery is useless at this point of the game (except maybe for gunlances). Negate Mud/Snow is made obsolete by a cleanser. The only decent skill on this set is Knockout King (for hammers and hunting horns) but the other bad skills make this set not worth it. Jaggi Defense: 50 Slots: 3 Fire=-10, Water=0, Ice=0, Thunder=0, Dragon=5 Helmet: Gluttony +2, Attack +1, Stun +1, Lasting Power -2 Chest: Gluttony +2, Attack +2, Stun +2, Lasting Power -2 Gloves: Gluttony +1, Attack +4, Stun +1, Lasting Power -2 Waist: Gluttony +4, Attack +3, Stun +3, Lasting Power -1 Boots: Gluttony +1, Attack +3, Stun +3, Lasting Power -1 Active Skills: Gourmand, Attack Up Small, Halve Stun This set is most people's upgrade from the starting leather armor set. If you add two Attack decorations, you will get Attack Up Medium which is a very good skill for this point of the game. Halve stun and Gourmand are also very good skills for this part of the game. Very nice set. Arzuros Defense: 55 (70) Slots: 4 Fire=-10, Water=5, Ice=-5, Thunder=0, Dragon=5 Helmet: Rec Level +2, Anti Theft +1, Defense +1, Paralysis -2 Chest: Rec Level +1(+2), Anti Theft +3(+6), Defense +2(+4), Paralysis -2(-4) Gloves: Rec Level +3, Anti Theft +2, Defense +2, Paralysis -2 Waist: Rec Level +3, Anti Theft +1, Defemse +3, Paralysis -2 Boots: Torso Up Active Skills: Recovery Up, Anti Theft, Defense Up Small, Double Paralysis This set is very defense oriented. If you prefer defense over offense, this is probably your set. Recovery Up is a very nice skill for the beginning of the game while you are still learning attack patterns. Make sure to add a Para decoration to get rid of Double Paralysis Wroggi Defense: 60 Slots: 5 Fire=5, Water=-5, Ice=-10, Thunder=0, Dragon=5 Helmet: Team Player +2, Sharpness +2, Poison +2, Status +1, Stun -2 Chest: Team Player +2, Sharpness +1, Poison +2, Staus +1, Stun -2 Gloves: Team Player +1, Sharpness +3, Poison +2, Status +1, Stun -2 Waist: Team Player +3, Sharpness +3, Poison +1, Status +1, Stun -1 Boots: Team Player +2, Sharpness +1, Poison +4, Status +1, Stun -1 Active Skills: Shakalaka Rally, Razor Sharp, Negate Poison This is my favorite rarity 2 set. Razor Sharp is amazingly useful for your bad sharpness weapons. Shakalaka Rally makes your sidekicks more powerful and Negate Poison makes poison-dealing monsters much easier. And you look like a cowboy(girl)! If you like using status weapons, you can try to gem in Status Attack +1. I highly recommend this set for solo play. Qurupeco Defense: 70 Slots: 5 Fire=10, Water=-5, Ice=-15, Thunder=0, Dragon=0 Helmet: Maestro +2, Wind Res +2, Wide Range +1, Eating -2 Chest: Maestro +2, Wind Res +2, Wide Range +1, Eating -2 Gloves: Maestro +1, Wind Res +3, Wide Range +2, Eating -2 Waist: Maestro +2, Wind Res +1, Wide Range +3, Eating -1 Boots: Maestro +3, Wind Res +2, Wide Range +3, Eating -1 Active Skills: Horn Maestro, Windproof Low, Wide Range +1 This set is good for a support playstyle or for a hunting horn hunter. A nice upgrade from Bone armor if you are wearing it for Maestro. Better for online play but works as a solo set as well Ludroth Defense: 70 Slots: 4 Fire= -15, Water=10, Ice=-5, Thunder=-5, Dragon=5 Helmet: Oxygen+2, Water Attack +2, Stamina +2, Heat Res +2, Thunder Res -2 Chest: Oxygen +1, Water Attack +2, Stamina +2, Heat Res +2, Thunder Res -2 Gloves: Oxygen +1, Water Attack +3, Stamina +1, Heat Res +2, Thunder Res -2 Waist: Oxygen +2, Water Attack +1, Stamina +3, Heat Res +2, Thunder Res -1 Boots: Oxygen +2, Water Attack +2, Stamina +2, Heat Res +2, Thunder Res -1 Active Skills: Water Attack +1, Marathon Runner, Heat Cancel This armor set isn't very good. None of the skills are that great or useful. Marathon Runner is decent for charge attacks that drain stamina and for running. If you want that skill, I guess use this set, otherwise don't. Baggi Defense: 75 Slots: 3 Fire=-10, Water=0, Ice=5, Thunder=0, Dragon=0 Helmet: Team Leader +2, Rec Speed +2, Sleep +2, Ice Attack +1, Fire Attack -2 Chest: Team Leader +2, Rec Speed +2, Sleep +2, Fire Attack -2 Gloves: Team Leader +2, Rec Speed +1, Sleep +1, Ice Attack +2, Fire Attack -2 Waist: Team Leader +2, Rec Speed +2, Sleep +2, Ice Attack +1, Fire Attack -1 Boots: Team Leader +2, Rec Speed +3, Sleep +3, Ice Attack +1, Fire Attack -1 Active Skills: Shakalaka Cheer, Recovery Speed +1, Negate Sleep Another shabby set. Shakalaka Cheer is useless in most situations. Recovery speed is pretty good, but negate sleep is made obsolete by an energy drink (and the fact that very few monsters use sleep attacks). I don't recommend it. Lagombi Defense: 75 Slots: 5 Fire=-10, Water=0, Ice=5, Thunder=-5, Dragon=0 Helmet: Lasting Power +4, Evade Distance +2, Cold Res +2, Heat Res -2 Chest: Lasting Power +2, Evade Distance +2, Cold Res +2, Heat Res -2 Gloves: Lasting Power +1, Evade Distance +2, Cold Res +3, Heat Res -2 Waist: Lasting Power +2, Evade Distance +2, Cold Res +2, Heat Res -2 Boots: Lasting Power +1, Evade Distance +2, Cold Res +1,Heat Res -2 Active Skills: Item Effect Up, Evade Extender, Cold Cancel, Heat Surge A nice set if you use lots of boost items (demondrugs, armorskins etc.) having the boost to their effect time. Evade Extender is a very good ability to have for weapons that don't have a block, or for players who evade over blocking. If you wear this set, don't bother taking off Heat Surge, just use a cool drink. Barroth (armor pieces have different elemental resistances) Defense: 80 Slots: 4 Helmet Res: Fire=0, Water=0, Ice=-2, Thunder=1, Dragon=0 Chest and Gloves Res: Fire=-4, Water=4, Ice=-2, Thunder=1, Dragon=0 Waist and Boots Res: Fire=4, Water=-4, Ice=-2, Thunder=1, Dragon=0 Helmet: Guard +3, Attack +2, Defense +1, Hunger -2 Chest: Guard +2, Attack +2, Defense +2, Hunger -2 Gloves: Guard +1, Attack +3, Defense +2, Hunger -2 Waist: Guard +3, Attack +1, Defense +2, Hunger -2 Boots: Guard +1, Attack +2, Defense +3, Hunger -2 Active Skills: Guard +1, Attack Up Small, Defense Up Small, Raise Hunger This set has very generic skills that can be easily gotten from food boosts making it not very useful besides the guard boost if you like to guard. The good thing about this set is the positive thunder resistance which is good for Lagiacrus who is coming up soon in the quests. Volvidon Defense: 80 Slots: 4 Fire=5, Water=-15, Ice=-5, Thunder=0, Dragon=5 Helmet: Tremor Res +3, Attack +2, Evasion +1, Cold Res -2 Chest: Tremor Res +1 (+2), Attack +2 (+4), Evasion +3(+6), Cold Res -2(-4) Gloves: Tremor Res +1, Attack +3, Evasion +2, Cold Res -2 Waist: Tremor Res +4, Attack +1, Evasion +1, Cold Res -2 Boots: Torso Up Active Skills: Tremor Resistance, Attack Up Small, Evasion +1, Cold Surge This is a very good set. It is one of the first sets to have evasion which is a very useful abilites for all weapons and has an attack boost. Pretty easy to make as well. Don't bother getting rid of cold surge, just use a hot drink and you will be fine Gobul Defense: 85 Slots: 4 Fire=-10, Water=10, Ice=0, Thunder=-15, Dragon=5 Helmet: Eating +2, Swimming +1, Expert +1, Rec Speed -2 Chest: Eating +1, Swimming +3, Expert +3, Rec Speed -2 Gloves: Eating +1, Swimming +1, Expert +4, Rec Speed -2 Waist: Eating +4, Swimming +2, Expert +2, Rec Speed -2 Boots: Eating +2, Swimming +3, Expert +2, Rec Speed -2 Active Skills: Speed Eating +1, Olympic Swimmer, Critical Eye +1, Recovery Speed -1 This set is pretty good, even better for water fights. Try to bump up speed eating +1 to speed eating +2 with decorations, that skill is a lot better than +1. Or you could try bumping up the expert skill to get more critical hits. Your choice. Make sure to gem off Recovery Speed -1 though, that is a horrible negative skill. Rathian Defense: 90 Slots: 4 Fire=10, Water=0, Ice=0, Thunder=-10, Dragon=-15 Helmet: Rec Level +3, Health +3, Fire Attack +2, Rec Speed -2 Chest: Rec Level +2, Health +2, Fire Attack +2, Rec Speed -2 Gloves: Rec Level +2, Health +1, Fire Attack +3, Rec Speed -2 Waist: Rec Level +2, Health +2, Fire Attack +2, Rec Speed -2 Boots: Rec Level +1, Health +2, Fire Attack +1, Rec Speed -2 Active Skills: Recovery Up, Health +20, Fire Attack +1, Recovery Speed -1 The 'noob' set from the previous game, this armor set still is pretty bad, even worse than the previous one. Health +20 is worthless if you get health boosts from the restaurant. Recovery Up is decent but Fire Attack really is only good for the small weapons (SnS and DS) that need elemental damage. Only wear in solo, other people will kick you if you wear it in their online room Gigginox Defense: 90 Slots: 3 Fire=-20, Water=0, Ice=5, Thunder=5, Dragon=-5 Helmet: Sharpener +2, Hearing +2, Status +1, Protection -2 Chest: Sharpener +1, Hearing +2, Status +2, Protection -2 Gloves: Sharpener +3, Hearing +3, Status +2, Protection -2 Waist: Sharpener +2, Hearing +2, Status +2, Protection -2 Boots: Sharpener +2, Hearing +3, Status +2, Protection -2 Active Skills: Speed Sharpening, Earplugs, Status Attack +1, Demonic Blessing A good set for status dealers. If you are currently wearing Bnahabra, you should consider changing to this. Earplugs is Very useful for getting some extra hits in and making sure you dont get hit by the next attack. Definitely take off Demonic Blessing, that skill is horrible Ingot Defense: 95 Slots: 4 Fire=-10, Water=-10, Ice=0, Thunder=10, Dragon=0 Helmet: Sheathing +3, Guard Up +2, Thunder Attack +1, Whim -2 Chest: Sheathing +1, Guard Up +1, Thunder Attack +3, Whim -2 Gloves: Sheathing +3, Guard Up +1, Thunder Attack +2, Whim -2 Waist: Sheathing +2, Guard Up +3, Thunder Attack +2, Whim -2 Boots: Sheathing +1, Guard Up +3, Thunder Attack +2, Whim -2 Active Skills: Quick Sheath, Guard Up, Thunder Attack +1, Spectre's Whim This is nice for lancers who are getting hit by unblockable attacks. Besides that use, this armor isn't very useful Nibelsnarf Defense: 105 Slots: 5 Fire=10, Water=0, Ice=-20, Thunder=-10, Dragon=5 Helmet: Mud/Snow +3, Eating +2, Sheathing +1, Hunger -2 Chest: Mud/Snow +2, Eating +2, Sheathing +1, Hunger -2 Gloves: Mud/Snow +1, Eating +2, Sheathing +3, Hunger -2 Waist: Mud/Snow +2, Eating +1, Sheathing +2, Hunger -2 Boots: Mud/Snow +2, Eating +3, Sheathing +3, Hunger -2 Active Skills: Negate Mud/Snow, Speed Eating +1, Quick Sheath, Raise Hunger This set is all right, not the best but not too bad. It does have Speed Eating which is good, but has Negate Mud/Snow which is a dumb skill to have because of cleansers. Use if you like Quick Sheath. Don't forget to gem off Raise Hunger RARITY 3 ARMORS The tough main monster sets Barioth Defense: 100 Slots: 5 Fire=-20, Water=0, Ice=10, Thunder=-5, Dragon=0 Helmet: Ice Attack +3, Evasion +2, Constitution +1, Stamina Recovery -2 Chest: Ice Attack +1, Evasion +1, Constitution +2, Stamina Recovery -2 Gloves: Ice Attack +3, Evasion +3, Constitution +2, Stamina Recovery -2 Waist: Ice Attack +2, Evasion +2, Constitution +2, Stamina Recovery -2 Boots: Ice Attack +1, Evasion +2, Constitution +1, Stamina Recovery -2 Active Skills: Ice Attack +1, Evasion +1, Stamina Recovery Down A decent evasion set, though I prefer Volvidon. You might as well gem in Constitution +1 because of all the skill points. Use an ice weapon with it for maximum usefulness. Stamina Recovery Down is horrible, so gem it out Lagiacrus Defense: 110 Slots: 5 Fire=-20, Water=5, Ice=-5, Thunder=10, Dragon=-5 Helmet: Current Res +2, Tenderizer +1, Fast Charge +1, Status -3 Chest: Current Res +3, Tenderizer +1, Fast Charge +2, Status -2 Gloves: Current Res +1, Tenderizer +3, Fast Charge +3, Status -1 Waist: Current Res +2, Tenderizer +3, Fast Charge +1, Status -2 Boots: Current Res +2, Tenderizer +2, Fast Charge +3, Status -2 Active Skills: Current Resistance Low, Weakness Exploit, Focus, Status Attack Down A good set if you want faster charges with your charge attacks because of Focus. Weakness Exploit is nice but not the best skill out there. Current Res is just there. Basically just use it for Focus if you are going to use it. Rathalos Defense: 110 Slots: 3 Fire=10, Water=0, Ice=0, Thunder=-10, Dragon=-15 Helmet: Attack +3, Sharpener +2, Fire Attack +1, Rec Level -2 Chest: Attack +2, Sharpener +2, Fire Attack +2, Rec Level -2 Gloves: Attack +5, Sharpener +1, Fire Attack +2, Rec Level -2 Waist: Attack +2, Sharpener +3, Fire Attack +1, Rec Level -2 Boots: Attack +3, Sharpener +2, Fire Attack +1, Rec Level -2 Active Skills: Attack Up Medium, Speed Sharpening, Recovery Down This armor is horrible except for its one saving grace; Attack Up Medium. That's it, all the good skills it has. Except you can get the same skill on Jaggi with other actually good skills. If you really want to use this, make sure to gem out recovery down Duramboros Defense: 120 Slots: 5 Fire=-20, Water=10, Ice=-15, Thunder=5, Dragon=5 Helmet: Attack +3, Survivor +2, Rec Speed +1, Expert -2 Chest: Attack +1, Survivor +3, Rec Speed +2, Expert -2 Gloves: Attack +3, Survivor +1, Rec Speed +2, Expert -2 Waist: Attack +2, Survivor +3, Rec Speed +2, Expert -2 Boots: Attack +1, Survivor +1, Rec Speed +3, Expert -2 Active Skills: Attack Up Small, Fortify, Recovery Speed +1, Critical Eye -1 Only use this if you are a veteran and want to exploit the power of fortify and only in solo. If you aren't going to use Fortify, there are better sets out there. But this set does have an attack boost and recovery speed up which is nice, so use if you want. Gem out Critical Eye -1 Diablos Defense: 120 Slots: 4 Fire=10, Water=0, Ice=-20, Thunder=0, Dragon=0 Helmet: Expert +2, Tremor Res +1, Fast Charge +1, Sharpener -2 Chest: Expert +2, Tremor Res +2, Fast Charge +2, Sharpener -2 Gloves: Expert +3, Tremor Res +2, Fast Charge +3, Sharpener -2 Waist: Expert +1, Tremor Res +3, Fast Charge +1, Sharpener -2 Boots: Expert +2, Tremor Res +2, Fast Charge +3, Sharpener -2 Active Skills: Critical Eye +1, Tremor Resistance, Focus, Slow Sharpening This is a very good set if you want to use focus, better than Lagiacrus by far. Expert and Tremor Res are pretty good skills to go along with focus. The only real problem with it is that Diablos is a pretty tough monster (in my opinion) Urugaan Defense: 120 (140) Slots: 5 Fire=10, Water=-20, Ice=-5, Thunder=5, Dragon=-10 Helmet: Defense +3, Bomb Boost +2, Stamina Drain +1, Swimming -2 Chest: Defense +2(+4), Bomb Boost +2(+4), Stamina Drain +2(+4), Swimming -2(-4) Gloves: Defense +4, Bomb Boost +2, Stamina Drain +3, Swimming -2 Waist: Defense +4, Bomb Boost +2, Stamina Drain +2, Swimming -2 Boots: Torso Up Active Skills: Defense Up Medium, Bombardier, Stamina Thief, Doggy Paddler This is another defense oriented set. If you prefer defense over offense or if you currently are wearing Arzuros armor, you should maybe wear this set. If you want to use this set, you should use bombs or use the sleepbomb tactic to get the most out of this set Agnaktor Defense: 120 Slots: 5 Fire=10, Water=-20, Ice=-5, Thunder=0, Dragon=0 Helmet: Flame Aura +2, Sharpness +2, Fire Attack +2, Guard +2, Potential -1 Chest: Flame Aura +3, Sharpness +2, Fire Attack +1, Guard +2, Potential -1 Gloves: Flame Aura +1, Sharpness +3, Fire Attack +2, Guard +1, Potential -1 Waist: Flame Aura +2, Sharpness +2, Fire Attack +2, Guard +3, Potential -1 Boots: Flame Aura +2, Sharpness +1, Fire Attack +2, Guard +2, Potential -1 Active Skills: Flame Aura, Sharpness, Fire Attack +1, Guard +1 This is a very good set for lances and gunlances, having guard And sharpness which is a great combo for lances. And with no negative skills, you can gem in any skill that you want that will fit. Very nice Helios/Selene Defense: 130 Slots: 6 Fire=0, Water=15, Ice=5, Thunder=-10, Dragon=-25 Helmet: Hearing +4, Water Attack +1, Destroyer +1, Protection -2 Chest: Hearing +1, Water Attack +3, Destroyer +2, Protection -2 Gloves: Hearing +1, Water Attack +2, Destroyer +3, Protection -2 Waist: Heating +3, Water Attack +1, Destroyer +2, Protection -2 Boots: Hearing +1, Water Attack +3, Destroyer +2, Protection -2 Active Skills: Earplugs, Water Attack +1, Partbreaker, Demonic Blessing This is a very good set. Earplugs is always useful for some extra hits, and Partbreaker is great for farming so you can break parts easier. Only problem is that after you beat Ceadeus you will be in high rank so you should be working on high rank armor for better defense. Bummer HIGH RANK ARMOR SETS RARITY 4 ARMORS The gathering sets and the weak monster sets Leather S Defense: 80 Slots: 4 Fire=-10, Water=0, Ice=0, Thunder=0, Dragon=10 Helmet: Speed Gathering +3, Gathering +3, Whim +2 Chest: Speed Gathering +1, Gathering +2, Whim +1 Gloves: Speed Gathering +2, Gathering +2, Whim +2 Waist: Speed Gathering +1, Gathering +2, Whim +3 Boots: Speed Gathering +3, Gathering +1, Whim +2 Active Skills: Speed Gathering, Gathering +1, Spirit's Whim This armor set is the same as its lower rank counterpart besides the major defense upgrade. But this armor should only be used for gathering where you don't need defense. Only get this one if you got rid of the lower rank version and want a nice gathering set Yukomo Defense: 90 Slots: 4 Fire=-5, Water=0, Ice=0, Thunder=10, Dragon=0 Helmet: Wide Range +3, Sharpener +3, Sense +2, Protection +2 Chest: Wide Range +1, Sharpener +1, Sense +1, Protection +2 Gloves: Wide Range +1, Sharpener +2, Sense +3, Protection +1 Waist: Wide Range +2, Sharpener +2, Sense +2, Protection +3 Boots: Wide Range +3, Sharpener +2, Sense +2, Protection +2 Active Skills: Wide Range +1, Speed Sharpening, Sneak, Divine Blessing This set has an interesting combo of skills. You have wide range +1 to help your fellow hunters, but also have sneak to make the monster attack them more. Weird. IF you like to support, consider getting this. Beware though that it doesn't really have any great skills on it. Chainmail S Defense: 110 Slots: 6 Fire=10, Water=10, Ice=5, Thunder=-15, Dragon=0 Helmet: Combo Plus +3, Combo Rate +3, Health +2 Chest: Combo Plus +1, Combo Rate +3, Health +2 Gloves: Combo Plus +3, Combo Rate +2, Health +4 Waist: Combo Plus +2, Combo Rate +4, Health +3 Boots: Combo Plus +1, Combo Rate +3, Health +4 Active Skills: Combination Pro, Combination +45%, Health +50 This set is useless. At this point, if you want better success rates. just use the combo books. Its not worth it to get an armor set devoted to combining when you have those books. And the health boost, you can get that at the restaurant Loc Lac S (3 pieces) Defense: 54 Slots: 3 Fire=6, Water=-9, Ice=0, Thunder=3, Dragon=0 Chest: Psychic +4, Transporter +3, Dungmaster +2 Waist: Psychic +5, Transporter +2, Dungmaster +5 Boots: Psychic +4, Transporter +5, Dungmaster +3 Active Skills: Detect, Pro Transporter, Dung Bomb Expert This set is a better version of the lower rank Loc Lac set. If you gem in Autotracker with one Psychic jewel, you will be able to see where the Urugaan is in your Powderstone quest, or the Rathian in your carnivore egg quest which is much more useful than a hunger skill. Hunter S Defense: 120 Slots: 6 Fire=0, Water=10, Ice=0, Thunder=-20, Dragon=0 Helmet: Ranger +2, Psychic +2, Speed Setup +1, Poison -2 Chest: Ranger +2, Psychic +2, Speed Setup +1, Poison -2 Gloves: Ranger +1, Psychic +3, Speed Setup +3, Poison -2 Waist: Ranger +1, Psychic +2, Speed Setup +3, Poison -2 Boots: Ranger +4, Psychic +1, Speed Setup +2, Poison -2 Active Skills: Outdoorsman, Detect, Trap Master, Double Poison A not very good set. If you need some help with fishing and cooking, this set might be good for you, besides that it doesn't excel in anything else Bone S Defense: 130 Slots: 5 Fire=10, Water=0, Ice=-15, Thunder=-5, Dragon=0 Helmet: Lasting Power +3, Maestro +3, Perception +1, KO +1, Sleep -2 Chest: Lasting Power +1, Maestro +1, Perception +4, KO +1, Sleep -2 Gloves: Lasting Power +2, Maestro +3, Perception +1, KO +2, Sleep -2 Waist: Lasting Power +2, Maestro +2, Perception +2, KO +3, Sleep -2 Boots: Lasting Power +2, Maestro +1, Perception +2, KO +3, Sleep -2 Active Skill: Item Effect Up, Horn Maestro, Capture Guru, Knockout King, Double Sleep This is a slightly better version of the lower rank version. If you use lots of boosting items (demondrugs/armorskins etc) and use a hunting horn, this is perfect for you. If neither of those applies to you, consider getting a different set. Alloy S Defense: 140 Slots: 4 Fire=-5, Water=10, Ice=-10, Thunder=-15, Dragon=0 Helmet: Expert +3, Sharpener +2, Wind Res +1, Gathering -3 Chest: Expert +3(+6), Sharpener +1(+2), Wind Res +3(+6), Gathering -2(-4) Gloves: Expert +2, Sharpener +3, Wind Res +1, Gathering -2 Waist: Expert +2, Sharpener +3, Wind Res +2, Gathering -1 Boots: Torso Up Active Skills: Critical Eye +1, Speed Sharpening, Windproof Low, Gathering -1 Pretty much exactly the same as the lower rank counterpart.
Decent, but there are better, easier to make sets out there.
Gathering -1 is terrible, so gem it off

Bnahabra S
Defense: 160 Slots: 2
Fire=-25, Water=-5, Ice=-5, Thunder=10, Dragon=15
Helmet: Paralysis +3, Status +2, Sheathing +1, Attack -2
Chest: Paralysis +2, Status +3, Sheathing +2, Attack -2
Gloves: Paralysis +2, Status +3, Sheathing +3, Attack -2
Waist: Paralysis +2, Status +2, Sheathing +2, Attack -2
Boots: Paralysis +1, Status +3, Sheathing +2, Attack -2
Active Skills: Negate Paralysis, Status Attack +1, Quick Sheath,
Attack Down Small
The first high rank status set. If you are a status dealer and
have the patience to hunt bnahabra, then go ahead and get yourself
this nice set. Definitely get rid of Attack Down

Rhenoplos S
Defense: 160 Slots: 5
Fire=10, Water=-5, Ice=-5, Thunder=-5, Dragon=5
Helmet: Artillery +2, KO +2, Fast Charge +1, Mud/Snow +1, Stun -3
Chest: Artillery +1, KO +1, Fast Charge +2, Mud/Snow +2, Stun -3
Gloves: Artillery +3, KO +2, Fast Charge +2, Mud/Snow +3, Stun -1
Waist: Artillery +3, KO +2, Fast Charge +2, Mud/Snow +2, Stun -2
Boots: Artillery +1, KO +3, Fast Charge +3, Mud/Snow +2, Stun -1
Active Skills: Artillery Novice, Knockout King, Focus, Negate Mud/
Snow, Double Stun
This set finally got good. Focus definitely helps make this a
better set. And Artillery Novice is finally useful for the
upcoming Jhen Mohran fight. Not too bad this time around

Slagtooth (2 pieces)
Defense: 70 Slots: 1
Fire=-4, Water=6(21), Ice=-2, Thunder=0, Dragon=2
Helmet: Water Attack +6, Water Res+3
Chest: Water Attack +4, Water Res +7
Active Skills: Water Attack +1, Water Resistance +15
This set is completely useless. Having only 2 garbage skills just
isn't even worth it. I guess you could combine it with something
else, but that won't be discussed in this FAQ

Jaggi S
Defense: 180 Slots: 5
Fire=-20, Water=0, Ice=0, Thunder=0, Dragon 10
Helmet: Stun +4, Gluttony +2, Attack +2, Lasting Power -2
Chest: Stun +4, Gluttony +2, Attack +3, Lasting Power -2
Gloves: Stun +3, Gluttony +2, Attack +4, Lasting Power -2
Waist: Stun +2, Gluttony +4, Attack +3, Lasting Power -2
Boots: Stun +2, Gluttony +2, Attack +3, Lasting Power -2
Active Skills: Negate Stun, Gourmand, Attack Up Medium, Item Use
 Down
This is a very nice bumped up version of the lower rank set.
It already has Attack Up Medium, so you can try to gem in something
else or gem in Attack Up Large. If you use any stat boosting
items, gem off the negative skill, if not don't worry about it

Arzuros S
Defense: 185 Slots: 4
Fire=-15, Water=10, Ice=-10, Thunder=0, Dragon=10
Helmet: Anti Theft +4, Defense +3, Rec Level +2, Stamina
Drain +2, Paralysis -2
Chest: Anti Theft +1(+2), Defense +4(+8), Rec Level +2(4),
 Stamina Drain +2(+4), Paralysis -2(-4)
Gloves: Anti Theft +2, Defense +2, Rec Level +2, Stamina
Drain +2, Paralysis -2
Waist: Anti Theft +2, Defense +2, Rec Level +2, Stamina
Drain +2, Paralysis -2
Boots: Torso Up
Active Skills: Anti Theft, Defense Up Medium, Recovery Up,
Stamina Thief, Double Paralysis
Nothing really special about this one. Lower rank version with
 better skills. At least this one comes with an offensive skill,
Stamina Thief but it isn't that effective

Wroggi S
Defense: 190 Slots: 6
Fire=10, Water=-10, Ice=-15, Thunder=0, Dragon=10
Helmet: Poison +4, Team Player +2, Eating +2, Sharpness +2,
Defense -2
Chest: Poison +1, Team Player +2, Eating +2, Sharpness +2, Defense
-2
Gloves: Poison +2, Team Player +1, Eating +1, Sharpness +2,
Defense -2
Waist: Poison +1, Team Player +3, Eating +3, Sharpness +2, Defense
-2
Boots: Poison +2, Team Player +2, Eating +2, Sharpness +2, Defense
-2
Active Skills: Negate Poison, Shakalaka Rally, Speed Eating +1,
Razor Sharp, Defense Down Small
I am shocked that they made my favorite low rank set even better
by having the potential of having Speed Eating +2. This is an
amazing set for the beginning of high rank and the Great Wroggi is
pretty easy to beat so why not get it

Baggi S
Defense: 200 Slots: 6
Fire=-20, Water=0, Ice=10, Thunder=0, Dragon=5
Helmet: Rec Speed +2, Team Leader +1, Sleep +1, Fire Attack -2
Chest: Rec Speed +2, Team Leader +2, Sleep +1, Ice Attack +4, Fire
Attack -2
Gloves: Rec Speed +1, Team Leader +3, Sleep +2, Ice Attack +3,
Fire Attack -2
Waist: Rec Speed +2, Team Leader +1, Sleep +3, Ice Attack +1, Fire
 Attack -2
Boots: Rec Speed +3, Team Leader +3, Sleep +3, Ice Attack +2, Fire
Attack -2
Active Skills: Recovery Speed +1, Shakalaka Cheer, Negate Sleep,
 Ice Attack +1, Fire Attack Down
This set has a lot of OK skills. Nothing really spectacular about
this one. Recovery Speed +1 is the best of the bunch, the others
are kinda meh. Use Ice weapons with this one, and not Fire weapons

Lagombi S
Defense: 200 Slots: 6
Fire=-15, Water=0, Ice=10, Thunder=-5, Dragon=0
Helmet: Lasting Power +3, Expert +3, Evade Distance +2, Cold Res
+2, Heat Res -2
Chest: Lasting Power +2, Expert +1, Evade Distance +3, Cold Res
+1, Heat Res -2
Gloves: Lasting Power +1, Expert +2, Evade Distance +2, Cold Res
+3, Heat Res -2
Waist: Lasting Power +2, Expert +2, Evade Distance +1, Cold Res
+2, Heat Res -2
Boots: Lasting Power +2, Expert +2, Evade Distance +2, Cold Res
+2, Heat Res -2
Active Skills: Item Effect Up, Critical Eye +1, Evade Extender,
Cold Cancel, Heat Surge Expert is a very nice addition to this
set, changing it from OK to good. If you like evade distance up,
use this set. Use stat boosting items for maximum usefullness with
this set

Volvidon S
Defense: 220 Slots: 5
Fire=10, Water=-20, Ice=-5, Thunder=0, Dragon=5
Helmet: Evasion +2, Tremor Res +2, Attack +2, Cold Res -2
Chest: Evasion +2(+4), Tremor Res +1(+2), Attack +4(+8), Cold Res
-2(-4)
Gloves: Evasion +2, Tremor Res +2, Attack +3, Cold Res -2
Waist: Evasion +2, Tremor Res +4, Attack +2, Cold Res -2
Boots: Torso Up
Active Skills: Evasion +1, Tremor Resistance, Attack Up Medium,
Cold Surge
A slightly better version of the former set. Very nice skills and
pretty much the same as the lower rank form. If you liked that
one, maybe wear this one (but personally i find it boring to wear
the same armor set again when changing from low to high or high to
G, for the sake of looks)

RARITY 5 ARMORS
The high rank main monster sets

Qurupeco S
Defense: 205 Slots: 6
Fire=15, Water=-5, Ice=-20(-40), Thunder=0, Dragon=5
Helmet: Wide Range +4, Psychic +2, Maestro +2, Ice Res -2
Chest: Wide Range +4, Psychic +2, Maestro +1, Ice Res -2
Gloves: Wide Range +4, Psychic +1, Maestro +3, Ice Res -2
Waist: Wide Range +5, Psychic +2, Maestro +1, Ice Res -2
Boots: Wide Range +3, Psychic +3, Maestro +3, Ice Res -2
Active Skills: Wide Range +2, Detect, Horn Maestro, Ice Res -20
A very good support set. Wide Range +2 is leagues better than +1
is. This set is perfect for a support hunting horn hunter. Either
 don't fight ice enemies or gem the negative out

Ludroth S
Defense: 210 Slots: 6
Fire=-20, Water=15, Ice=-5, Thunder=-5, Dragon=0
Helmet: Oxygen +2, Water Attack +2, Stamina +2, Hearing +2,
Thunder Attack -2
Chest: Oxygen +2, Water Attack +2, Stamina +2, Hearing +1, Thunder
 Attack -2
Gloves: Oxygen +2, Water Attack +3, Stamina +1, Hearing +1,
Thunder Attack -2
Waist: Oxygen +2, Water Attack +1, Stamina +3, Hearing +1,
Thunder Attack -2
Boots: Oxygen +2, Water Attack +2, Stamina +2, Hearing +3,
Thunder Attack -2
Active Skills: Endless Oxygen, Water Attack +1, Marathon Runner,
Thunder Attack Down
This is a much better version from the lower counterpart because
of the ever-useful Earplugs (well very close anyways). Marathon
Runner is very nice too. If you want both of those skills, use
this set

Aelucanth/Rhopessa
Defense: 230 Slots: 3
Fire=-20, Water=0, Ice=-5, Thunder=15, Dragon=5
Helmet: Hearing +3, Antiseptic +2, Dragon Attack +1, Protection -3
Chest: Hearing +2, Antiseptic +2, Dragon Attack +2, Protection -1
Gloves: Hearing +3, Antiseptic +1, Dragon Attack +4, Protection -2
Waist: Hearing +4, Antiseptic +3, Dragon Attack +2, Protection -2
Boots: Hearing +3, Antiseptic +2, Dragon Attack +1, Protection -2
Active Skills: HG Earplugs, Antiseptic, Dragon Attack +1, Demonic
Blessing
This set is really only useful for the HG Earplugs. There are very
 few dragon weapons out there right now, and only two monsters use
attacks that antiseptic negates. If you just want earplugs,
consider getting the Ludroth S set which nearly has it.

Barroth S (Different Elemental Resistances)
Defense: 230 Slots: 6
Helmet Res: Fire=0, Water=0, Ice=-2, Thunder=1, Dragon=0
Chest/Gloves Res: Fire=-4, Water=4, Ice=-2, Thunder=1, Dragon=0
Waist/Boots Res: Fire=4, Water=-4, Ice=-2, Thunder=1, Dragon=0
Helmet: Attack +4, Guard +3, Defense +3, Hunger -2
Chest: Attack +1, Guard +2, Defense +1, Hunger -2
Gloves: Attack +4, Guard +1, Defense +1, Hunger -2
Waist: Attack +2, Guard +1, Defense +2, Hunger -2
Boots: Attack +4, Guard +3, Defense +3, Hunger -2
Active Skills: Attack Up Medium, Guard +1, Defense Up Small,
Raise Hunger
This set is pretty much the same as the lower one. This one is
pretty useless as well, having 2 skills that can easily gotten at
the restaurant. Only get if you are desperate for Guard +1(or 2
through gemming)

Gobul S
Defense: 235 Slots: 6
Fire=-10, Water=15, Ice=0, Thunder=-20, Dragon=5
Helmet: Eating +3, Expert +3, Swimming +2, Rec Speed -2
Chest: Eating +1, Expert +3, Swimming +2, Rec Speed -2
Gloves: Eating +2, Expert +5, Swimming +1, Rec Speed -2
Waist: Eating +3, Expert +3, Swimming +2, Rec Speed -2
Boots: Eating +1, Expert +1, Swimming +3, Rec Speed -2
Active Skills: Speed Eating +1, Critical Eye +2, Olympic Swimmer,
Recovery Speed -1
I don't know why these sets with the eating skill can't just give
us speed eating +2. Its annoying. Anyway if you want Speed eating
and don't like wroggi armor, this is a good choice, having
Critical Eye +2 really helps rack in the critical hits

Mossgharl
Defense: 240 Slots: 6
Fire=-20, Water=5, Ice=10, Thunder=0, Dragon=0
Helmet: Combo Rate +3, Fast Charge +2, Speed Setup +1, Rec Speed
+1, Guard -2
Chest: Combo Rate +2, Fast Charge +1, Speed Setup +2, Rec Speed
+2, Guard -2
Gloves: Combo Rate +1, Fast Charge +3, Speed Setup +3, Rec Speed
 +3, Guard -2
Waist: Combo Rate +3, Fast Charge +2, Speed Setup +3, Rec Speed
+1, Guard -2
Boots: Combo Rate +1, Fast Charge +2, Speed Setup +1, Rec Speed
+3, Guard -2
Active Skills: Combination +20%, Focus, Trapmaster, Recovery Speed
+1, Guard -1
This is a decent set. Focus and recovery speed +1 are very nice
skills, and trapmaster is great if you like to capture. Nice, but
pretty hard to make, so maybe not worth it

Ingot S
Defense: 240 Slots: 6
Fire=-10, Water=-15, Ice=0, Thunder=15, Dragon=5
Helmet: Thunder Attack +3, Guard Up +3, Sheathing +3, Whim -2
Chest: Thunder Attack +2, Guard Up +2, Sheathing +1, Whim -2
Gloves: Thunder Attack +1, Guard Up +1, Sheathing +4, Whim -2
Waist: Thunder Attack +3, Guard Up +1, Sheathing +1, Whim -2
Boots: Thunder Attack +3, Guard Up +3, Sheathing +1, Whim -2
Active Skills: Thunder Attack +1, Guard Up, Quick Sheath,
Spectre's Whim
This set is really only useful for heavy guarding weapons (lances
and gunlances) so that they can guard all attacks. Besides that
purpose, this armor set doesn't do much good

Rathian S
Defense: 245 Slots: 7
Fire=15, Water=0, Ice=0, Thunder=-10, Dragon=-20
Helmet: Rec Level +1, Fire Attack +1, Health +1, Water Attack -2
Chest: Rec Level +4, Fire Attack +2, Health +1, Water Attack -2
Gloves: Rec Level +2, Fire Attack +4, Health +3, Water Attack -2
Waist: Rec Level +3, Fire Attack +3, Health +5, Water Attack -2
Boots: Rec Level +2, Fire Attack +2, Health +5, Water Attack -2
Active Skills: Recovery Up, Fire Attack +1, Health +50, Water
Attack Down
This set is honestly completely terrible. It doesn't have any good
 skills besides Recovery Up, but one good skill isn't worth
getting an armor set for. Don't wear it

Gigginox S
Defense: 245 Slots: 5
Fire=-25, Water=0, Ice=10, Thunder=10, Dragon=-5
Helmet: Status +3, Sharpener +2, Hearing +1, Protection -2
Chest: Status +2, Sharpener +1, Hearing +2, Protection -2
Gloves: Status +5, Sharpener +2, Hearing +2, Protection -2
Waist: Status +3, Sharpener +2, Hearing +2, Protection -2
Boots: Status +2, Sharpener +3, Hearing +3, Protection -2
Active Skills: Status Attack +2, Speed Sharpening, Earplugs,
Demonic Blessing
This is a must-have for any status dealers. Along with that great
 skill, you have earplugs which is very useful . Very good if you
want to deal status

Plesioth (only 4 pieces; no waist)
Defense: 245 Slots: 4 (+ any slots on your chosen waist piece)
Fire=-16, Water=12, Ice=-8, Thunder=-20, Dragon=8
Helmet: Speed Setup +3, Heat Res +3, Tranquilizer +2, Stamina +2
Chest: Speed Setup +1, Heat Res +3, Tranquilizer +3, Stamina +2
Gloves: Speed Setup +4, Heat Res +2, Tranquilizer +3, Stamina +2
Boots: Speed Setup +2, Heat Res +2, Tranquilizer +2, Stamina +4
Active Skills: Trapmaster, Heat Cancel, Capture Expert, Marathon
Runner
This is a very very good set. If you prefer to capture over
killing the monster, wear this set. It has 3 pretty good skills
and heat cancel doesnt hurt. And no negatives! Very good besides
looking horrible

Barioth S
Defense: 250 Slots: 5
Fire=-25, Water=0, Ice=15, Thunder=-5, Dragon=0
Helmet: Constitution +3, Ice Attack +2, Evasion +1, Stamina
Recovery -2
Chest: Constitution +2, Ice Attack +1, Evasion +2, Stamina
Recovery -2
Gloves: Constitution +2, Ice Attack +4, Evasion +2, Stamina
Recovery -2
Waist: Constitution +5, Ice Attack +3, Evasion +2, Stamina
Recovery -2
Boots: Constitution +3, Ice Attack +2, Evasion +3, Stamina
Recovery -2
Active Skills: Constitution +2, Ice Attack +1, Evasion +1, Stamina
Recovery Down
This set is nice, not the best, but not too bad. Evasion +1, and
Constitution +2 make evading a lot easier which is pretty good.
Get rid of stamina recovery down for sure.

Nibelsnarf S
Defense: 255 Slots: 6
Fire=15, Water=0, Ice=-25, Thunder=-5, Dragon=5
Helmet: Eating +3, Sheathing +2, Mud/Snow +2, Thunder Attack -2
Chest: Eating +3, Sheathing +1, Mud/Snow +2, Thunder Attack -2
Gloves: Eating +3, Sheathing +3, Mud/Snow +1, Thunder Attack -2
Waist: Eating +4, Sheathing +3, Mud/Snow +2, Thunder Attack -2
Boots: Eating +2, Sheathing +1, Mud/Snow +3, Thunder Attack -2
Active Skills: Speed Eating +2, Quick Sheath, Negate Mud/Snow,
Thunder Attack Down
Finally! Speed Eating +2 without gemming.That alone might make
 this set worth it (but probably not). Quick Sheath is nice too
but if only there was a better skill than negate mud/snow on this
set... oh well.

Nargacuga
Defense: 255 Slots: 5
Fire=-10, Water=5, Ice=5, Thunder=-25, Dragon=5
Helmet: Sense +3, Evade Distance +3, Evasion +1, Stamina -2
Chest: Sense +2, Evade Distance +2, Evasion +3, Stamina -2
Gloves: Sense +1, Evade Distance +1, Evasion +2, Stamina -2
Waist: Sense +2, Evade Distance +2, Evasion +3, Stamina -2
Boots: Sense +2, Evade Distance +2, Evasion +3, Stamina -2
Active Skills: Sneak, Evade Extender, Evasion +1, Short Sprinter
If you evade a lot or need some help evading, this is the perfect
 set for you. There's never too many evasion skills. That's all
this set is good for though, so if you don't want evasion boosts,
get a different set

Lagiacrus S
Defense: 265 Slots: 6
Fire=-25, Water=5, Ice=-5, Thunder=15, Dragon=-5
Helmet: Sharpener +2, Tenderizer +2, Fast Charge +1, Status -2
Chest: Sharpener +3, Tenderizer +1, Fast Charge +3, Status -2
Gloves: Sharpener +1, Tenderizer +3, Fast Charge +3, Status -2
Waist: Sharpener +2, Tenderizer +2, Fast Charge +1, Status -2
Boots: Sharpener +2, Tenderizer +2, Fast Charge +2, Status -2
Active Skills: Speed Sharpening, Weakness Exploit, Focus, S
tatus Attack Down
This is the same as the lower rank one. Sorta good, sorta bad.
Same goes here, if you really need focus and have no other option,
use this set. Otherwise skip it

Rathalos S
Defense: 265 Slots:4
Fire=15. Water=0, Ice=0, Thunder=-10, Dragon=-20
Helmet: Sharpener +3, Attack +3, Fire Attack +1, Rec Level -2
Chest: Sharpener +1, Attack +1, Fire Attack +2, Rec Level -2
Gloves: Sharpener +2, Attack +5, Fire Attack +3, Rec Level -3
Waist: Sharpener +2, Attack +2, Fire Attack +1, Rec Level -2
Boots: Sharpener +2, Attack +5, Fire Attack +1, Rec Level -2
Active Skills: Speed Sharpening, Attack Up Medium, Recovery Down
This set is terrible. Attack Up medium is the only good skill (and
 they don't even give us Fire Attack +1) and one skill is not
worth getting an armor set for.

Zinogre
Defense: 265 Slots: 6
Fire=0, Water=-10, Ice=-20, Thunder=15, Dragon=5
Helmet: Sharpness +3, Gloves Off +1, Thunder Attack +1, Sense -2
Chest: Sharpness +3, Gloves Off +3, Thunder Attack +1, Sense -2
Gloves: Sharpness +2, Gloves Off +2, Thunder Attack +3, Sense -2
Waist: Sharpness +1, Gloves Off +4, Thunder Attack +2, Sense -2
Boots: Sharpness +1, Gloves Off +1, Thunder Attack +3, Sense -2
Active Skills: Razor Sharp, Latent Power +1, Thunder Attack +1,
Taunt
This set is pretty nice. Razor Sharp is always useful, and Latent
 power can be a very useful skill in some circumstances. If it was
 a bit more reliable it would be better. Otherwise it is a nice
 armor set and one worth considering

Brachydios
Defense: 265 Slots: 7
Fire=15, Water=-20, Ice=-10, Thunder=0, Dragon=0
Helmet: Spirit +2, Potential +2, Bomb Boost +2, Evasion -2
Chest: Spirit +3, Potential +1, Bomb Boost +2, Evasion -2
Gloves: Spirit +1, Potential +1, Bomb Boost +2, Evasion -2
Waist: Spirit +2, Potential +3, Bomb Boost +1, Evasion -2
Boots: Spirit +2, Potential +3, Bomb Boost +3, Evasion -2
Active Skills: Challenger +1, Adrenaline +1, Bombardier, Evasion
Down
This has the potential to be a pretty good set (see what I did
 there). The thing is that you need to upgrade both challenger
and adrenaline for your setup to be the best it can, but that
can be difficult. If you can pull it off, and actually use
adrenaline +2 you will have a great set. Gem out evasion down
because that's horrible

Duramboros S
Defense: 270 Slots: 8
Fire=-25, Water=15, Ice=-10, Thunder=5, Dragon=5
Helmet: Survivor +3, Rec Speed +2, Attack +1, Expert -2
Chest: Survivor +1, Rec Speed +4, Attack +2, Expert -2
Gloves: Survivor +3, Rec Speed +2, Attack +2, Expert -2
Waist: Survivor +2, Rec Speed +3, Attack +2, Expert -2
Boots: Survivor +1, Rec Speed +4, Attack +3, Expert -2
Active Skills: Fortify, Recovery Speed +2, Attack Up Small,
Critical Eye -1
Same requirements as before apply here. This set is really only
useful if you want to use fortify, but that skill requires you to
die to get the stat boosts so only use in solo and when you are
sure you won't die again

Diablos S
Defense: 280 Slots: 5
Fire=15, Water=0, Ice=-25, Thunder=0, Dragon=0
Helmet: Tremor Res +3, Expert +2, Fast Charge +2, Sharpener -2
Chest: Tremor Res +2, Expert +2, Fast Charge +2, Sharpener -2
Gloves: Tremor Res +1, Expert +4, Fast Charge +3, Sharpener -2
Waist: Tremor Res +2, Expert +4, Fast Charge +2, Sharpener -2
Boots: Tremor Res +2, Expert +3, Fast Charge +1, Sharpener -2
Active Skills: Tremor Resistance, Critical Eye +2, Focus, Slow
Sharpening
A very good set if you want to use Focus. Pretty good skills like
Critical Eye +2 are always welcome. Nice set

Agnaktor S
Defense: 280 Slots: 7
Fire=15, Water=-25, Ice=-5, Thunder=0, Dragon=0
Helmet: Sharpness +3, Fire Attack +3, Flame Aura +2, Constitution +2
Chest: Sharpness +1, Fire Attack +2, Flame Aura +3, Constitution
+1
Gloves: Sharpness +3, Fire Attack +3, Flame Aura +1, Constitution
+2
Waist: Sharpness +2, Fire Attack +2, Flame Aura +2, Constitution
+4
Boots: Sharpness +1, Fire Attack +2, Flame Aura +2, Constitution
+3
Active Skills: Razor Sharp, Fire Attack +1, Flame Aura,
Constitution +1
A slightly more weapon friendly version. Constitution +1 helps all
 weapon classes while guard +1 does not. Razor Sharp is nice as
always. If you like constitution +1 and Razor Sharp get the set.

Urugaan S
Defense: 285(310) Slots: 5
Fire=15, Water=-25, Ice=-5, Thunder=5, Dragon=-10
Helmet: Defense +4, Bomb Boost +2, Stamina Drain +2, Swimming -2
Chest: Defense +4(+8), Bomb Boost +2(+4), Stamina Drain +1(+2),
Swimming -2(-4)
Gloves: Defense +3, Bomb Boost +2, Stamina Drain +3, Swimming -2
Waist: Defense +5, Bomb Boost +2, Stamina Drain +3, Swimming -2
Boots: Torso Up
Active Skills: Defense Up Large, Bombardier, Stamina Thief, Doggy
Paddler
Very defense heavy set. However, skills should mainly be
offensive-based because if you don't get hit, you don't need
defensive skills. If you do get hit a lot, maybe you should wear
 this set

RARITY 6 ARMORS
High Rank subspecies armor sets

Qurupeco U
Defense: 205 Slots: 5
Fire=-5, Water=0, Ice=-20, Thunder=15, Dragon=0
Helmet: Defense Lock +3, Wind Res +2, Expert +2, Wide Range +2,
Ice Attack -2
Chest: Defense Lock +2, Wind Res +2, Expert +1, Wide Range +1, Ice
Attack -2
Gloves: Defense Lock +1, Wind Res +4, Expert +3, Ice Attack -2
Waist: Defense Lock +2, Wind Res +3, Expert +2, Wide Range +2, Ice
Attack -2
Boots: Defense Lock +2, Wind Res +4, Expert +2, Wide Range +1, Ice
 Attack -2
Active Skills: Iron Skin, Windproof High, Critical Eye +1, Ice
Attack Down
This set isn't too bad. Iron Skin is very useful for Deviljho but
by the time you fight him, you should have better armor so that
skill isn't that great. No wind flinches is nice and expert is
always good.

Ludroth U
Defense:210 Slots: 6
Fire=-20, Water=15, Ice=0, Thunder=-10(-30), Dragon=5
Helmet: Hunger +4, Stamina +2, Status +1, Thunder Res -2
Chest: Hunger +3, Stamina +1, Status +1, Thunder Res -2
Gloves: Hunger +3, Stamina +3, Status +3, Thunder Res -2
Waist: Hunger +1, Stamina +2, Status +3, Thunder Res -2
Boots: Hunger +4, Stamina +2, Status +4, Thunder Res -2
Active Skills: Negate Hunger, Marathon Runner, Status Attack +1,
Thunder Res -20
This is a very stamina heavy set. Having a never-depleting stamina
bar is very nice, and marathon runner to reduce stamina use is
good as well. Pretty close to Status Attack +2, so if you like
status and stamina boosts, use this set

Barroth U
Defense: 240 Slots:7
Fire=-20, Water=5, Ice=15, Thunder=-10, Dragon=0
Helmet: Potential +3, Ice Attack +3, Defense +2, Fire Attack -2
Chest: Potential +1, Ice Attack +1, Defense +3, Fire Attack -2
Gloves: Potential +2, Ice Attack +2, Defense +1, Fire Attack -2
Waist: Potential +4, Ice Attack +3, Defense +4, Fire Attack -2
Boots: Potential +3, Ice Attack +1, Defense +3, Fire Attack -2
Active Skills: Adrenaline +1, Ice Attack +1, Defense Up Small,
Fire Attack Down
This set is nothing special. None of the skills are really all
that great. If you do wear it at least gem in Adrenaline +2, and
actually use it, otherwise this set is a waste

Rathian Heart
Defense: 245 Slots: 5
Fire=15 Water=0, Ice=0, Thunder=-10, Dragon=-20
Helmet: Potential +3, Fire Attack +2, Wind Res +2, Sense -1
Chest: Potential +2, Fire Attack +3, Wind Res +3, Sense -1
Gloves: Potential +1, Fire Attack +5, Wind Res +2, Sense -1
Waist: Potential +2, Fire Attack +2, Wind Res +4, Sense -1
Boots: Potential +2, Fire Attack +1, Wind Res +4, Sense -1
Active Skills: Adrenaline +1, Fire Attack +1, Windproof High
A slightly better set than the one above. This one has a better
third skill (windproof) and no negative, but Adrenaline +2 is
harder to get. If you really want Adrenaline +2, get this set

Gigginox U
Defense: 245 Slots: 6
Fire=0, Water=-25, Ice=5, Thunder=15, Dragon=-5
Helmet: Fast Charge +3, Thunder Attack +2, Stamina Drain +2, Ice
Attack -2
Chest: Fast Charge +1, Thunder Attack +1, Stamina Drain +1, Ice
Attack -2
Gloves: Fast Charge +1, Thunder Attack +3, Stamina Drain +2, Ice
Attack -2
Waist: Fast Charge +3, Thunder Attack +2, Stamina Drain +2, Ice
Attack -2
Boots: Fast Charge +2, Thunder Attack +2, Stamina Drain +3, Ice
Attack -2
Active Skills: Focus, Thunder Attack +1, Stamina Thief, Ice Attack
Down
Not too bad of a set. Focus is almost always useful and Stamina
Thief is nice. Pretty good but Baleful Gigginox is horribly
annoying to fight with his paralysis

Barioth U
Defense: 270 Slots: 6
Fire=15, Water=0, Ice=-25, Thunder=-5, Dragon=0
Helmet: Heat Res +3, Evade Distance +2, Attack +1, Evasion -2
Chest: Heat Res+2, Evade Distance +3, Attack +3, Evasion -2
Gloves: Heat Res +1, Evade Distance +3, Attack +4, Evasion -2
Waist: Heat Res +3, Evade Distance +1, Attack +3, Evasion -2
Boots: Heat Res +1, Evade Distance +1, Attack +4, Evasion -2
Active Skills: Heat Cancel, Evade Extender, Attack Up Medium,
 Evasion Down
This is a very good set. If you only want Evade Extender over
evasion +1, this set is vastly superior to Nargacuga. An attack
boost is always nice, and heat cancel is handy for the volcano
fights coming up (and Alatreon)

Lagiacrus U
Defense: 300 Slots: 7
Fire=-20, Water=10, Ice=0, Thunder=15, Dragon=-20
Helmet: Blight Res +2, Destroyer +2, Attack +2, Stamina -2
Chest: Blight Res +2, Destroyer +1, Attack +2, Stamina -2
Gloves: Blight Res +1, Destroyer +2, Attack +4, Stamina -2
Waist: Blight Res +3, Destroyer +3, Attack +3, Stamina -2
Boots: Blight Res +2, Destroyer +1, Attack +2, Stamina -2
Active Skills: Blightproof, Partbreaker, Attack Up Small, Short
 Sprinter
This is an amazing set. Blightproof is a Very useful skill,
eliminating the threat of thunderblight, the annoyance of
waterblight and the terribleness of dragonblight. That great skill
paired with another great one (destroyer) and a nice one (Attack
Up) makes this a wonderful set.

Rath Soul
Defense: 275 Slots: 7
Fire=15, Water=0, Ice=-10, Thunder=0, Dragon=-20
Helmet: Sharpness +2, Hearing +1, Expert +2, Health -2
Chest: Sharpness +1, Hearing +2, Expert +2, Health -2
Gloves: Sharpness +2, Hearing +1, Expert +5, Health -2
Waist: Sharpness +3, Hearing +3, Expert +3, Health -2
Boots: Sharpness +2, Hearing +3, Expert +3, Health -2
Active Skills: Razor Sharp, Earplugs, Critical Eye +2, Health -10
This is a very good attack-oriented set. All of the skills on it
are very useful, and there are no bad ones (except obviously the
negative one). Very nice, but lots of people wear this one

Dober
Defense: 275 Slots: 6
Fire=-10, Water=0, Ice=0, Thunder=0, Dragon=15
Helmet: Stamina Recovery +4, Dragon Attack +3, Tremor Res +2,
Hunger -2
Chest: Stamina Recovery +1, Dragon Attack +1, Tremor Res +3,
Hunger -2
Gloves: Dragon Attack +3, Tremor Res +1, Hunger -2
Waist: Stamina Recovery +1, Dragon Attack +2, Tremor Res +3,
Hunger -2
Boots: Stamina Recovery +1, Dragon Attack +1, Tremor Res +1,
Hunger -2
Active Skills: Stamina Recovery Up, Dragon Attack +1, Tremor
Resistance, Raise Hunger
This is an all right set. None of the skills are all that
spectacular. The one great thing about this set is that is has
positive dragon res, and a lot of it which is pretty rare and
useful against Deviljho.

Diablos U
Defense: 285 Slots: 8
Fire=15, Water=0, Ice=-25, Thunder=0, Dragon=0
Helmet: Hearing +2, Stamina Drain +2, KO +2, Dragon Attack -2
Chest: Hearing +2, Stamina Drain +1, KO +1, Dragon Attack -2
Gloves: Hearing +2, Stamina Drain +2, KO +3, Dragon Attack -2
Waist: Hearing +1, Stamina Drain +1, KO +2, Dragon Attack -2
Boots: Hearing +3, Stamina Drain +4, KO +2, Dragon Attack -2
Active Skills: Earplugs, Stamina Thief, Knockout King, Dragon
Attack Down
This is a very good set for any hammer/hunting horn hunter
(probably better for better for hammer though). Knockout King and
Stamina Thief really help those weapons out, and earplugs gives
some extra hits. Very nice

Agnaktor U
Defense: 290 Slots: 6
Fire=-25, Water=10, Ice=15, Thunder=-5, Dragon=-5
Helmet: Guard +3, Sharpener +2, Guard Up +2, Constitution -2
Chest: Guard +3, Sharpener +1, Guard Up +2, Constitution -2
Gloves: Guard +2, Sharpener +3, Guard Up +1, Constitution -3
Waist: Guard +3, Sharpener +1, Guard Up +2, Constitution -3
Boots: Guard +4, Sharpener +3, Guard Up +3, Constitution -3
Active Skills: Guard +2, Speed Sharpening, Guard Up, Constitution
-1
This is a very good lancing set. 2 very defense/guard heavy skills
 are wonderful and very useful for lances. The problem is
Constitution -1 is pretty hard to gem off if you want other skills

Urugaan U
Defense: 295 Slots: 6
Fire=15, Water=-25, Ice=-5, Thunder=5, Dragon=-10
Helmet: Artillery +3, Guard +2, Stamina Recovery +1, Swimming -2
Chest: Artillery +1, Guard +3, Stamina Recovery +1, Swimming -2
Gloves: Artillery +2, Guard +2, Stamina Recovery +1, Swimming -2
Waist: Artillery +3, Guard +2, Stamina Recovery +4, Swimming -2
Boots: Artillery +1, Guard +1, Stamina Recovery +3, Swimming -2
Active Skills: Artillery Novice, Guard +1, Stamina Recovery Up,
Doggy Paddler
This is a great gunlance set. Having a boost to all shell/wyvern
fire damage and a guard boost is perfect for gunlances. Other than
 gunlances, maybe a lance would benefit most, but other than those
2, not that great

Damascus
Defense: 285 Slots: 6
Fire=-10, Water=10, Ice=10, Thunder=-15,Dragon=-5
Helmet: Sharpener +2, Thunder Attack +2, Protection +2, Eating -2
Chest: Sharpener +1, Thunder Attack +2, Protection +1, Eating -2
Gloves: Sharpener +2, Thunder Attack +4, Protection +2, Eating -2
Waist: Sharpener +2, Thunder Attack +3, Protection +3, Eating -2
Boots: Sharpener +3, Thunder Attack +3, Protection +2, Eating -2
Active Skills: Speed Sharpening, Thunder Attack +1, Divine
Blessing, Slow Eater
This set is garbage. There are really no great skills on here and
 it has a horrible negative. This one isn't worth it at all

RARITY 7 ARMORS
Rare/Powerful High rank monster sets

Yamato/Mutsu
Defense: 300 (320)Slots: 6
Fire=15, Water=5, Ice=-20, Thunder=0, Dragon=-20
Helmet: Defense +4, Expert +2, Fast Charge +2, Potential -2
Chest: Defense +2, Expert +4, Fast Charge +1, Potential -2
Gloves: Defense +2, Expert +2, Fast Charge +2, Potential -2
Waist: Defense +4, Expert +2, Fast Charge +2, Potential -2
Boots: Defense +3, Expert +5, Fast Charge +3, Potential -2
Active Skills: Defense Up Medium, Critical Eye +2, Focus,
Worrywart
This is a defense heavy set with some nice attack boosts too.
Focus and Expert are always useful. However, Jhen Mohran is pretty
hard to beat, and takes while to fight so the grind for the armor
will take a long time.

Vangis
Defense: 310 Slots: 3
Fire=0, Water=0, Ice=5, Thunder=-20, Dragon=-20
Helmet: Eating +4, Attack +3, Sharpness +2, Hunger -2
Chest: Eating +4(+8), Attack +4(+8), Sharpness +1(+2), Hunger
-2(-4)
Gloves: Eating +2, Attack +3, Sharpness +3, Hunger -2
Waist: Torso Up
Boots: Eating +1, Attack +1, Sharpness +3, Hunger -2
Active Skills: Speed Eating +2, Attack Up Medium, Razor Sharp,
 Raise Hunger
A very good all around set. All the skills on the set are very
 useful in nearly all fights. Deviljho is pretty hard to beat
though, and there are few slots to customize with Escadora
(different elemental resistances) (can anyone help with the ?'s)
Defense:
Helmet Res: Fire=0, Water=-2, Ice=0, Thunder=0, Dragon=-2
Chest/Gloves Res: Fire=-3, Water=-2, Ice=3, Thunder=3, Dragon=-2
Waist/Boots Res: ?
Helmet: Gloves Off +2, Evade Distance +2, Blight Res +1, Elemental
 +1, Stun -2
Chest: Gloves Off +2, Evade Distance +1, Blight Res +2, Elemental
 +3, Stun -2
Gloves: Gloves Off +3, Evade Distance +1, Blight Res +1, Elemental
 +3, Stun -2
Waist: ?
Boots: ?
Active Skills (guessing): Latent Power +1, Evade Extender,
 Blightproof, Elemental Up, Double Stun
This set is a wonderful set. All of the skills are extremely
useful (and the Elemental one is unique to this set). The problem
is that Alatreon is extremely hard to beat once, let alone the
many times you would have to farm him.

RARITY 8 ARMORS
Finally the sets start getting good in G Rank. There are also
many unique skills in G rank and multi skills (edgemaster is
attack up large and sharpness +1)

Jaggi X
Defense: 360 Slots: 7
Fire=-25, Water=0, Ice=0, Thunder=0, Dragon=15
Helmet: Recovery Speed +3, Carnivore +2, Attack +2, Stun +2, Free
 Element +1
Chest: Recovery Speed +3, Carnivore +2, Attack +2, Stun +1, Free
 Element +1
Gloves: Recovery Speed +2, Carnivore +2, Attack +2, Stun +3, Free
 Element +3
Waist: Recovery Speed +1, Carnivore +1, Attack +2, Stun +4, Fate
 +2
Boots: Recovery Speed +1, Carnivore +3, Attack +2, Stun +3, Fate
 +3
Active Skills: Recovery Speed +1, Meat Lover ,Attack Up Small,
 Halve Stun
This set is nice. The carnivore skill is a really weird one,
 allowing the hunter to eat raw meat. Its got nice skills and has
the potential to get good luck if you have a decent charm. Decent

Baggi X
Defense: 360 Slots: 7
Fire=-25, Water=0, Ice=15, Thunder=0, Dragon=10
Helmet: Team Leader +2, Ice Attack +2, Evasion +2, Cold Res +2,
Recovery Speed+1
Chest: Team Leader +2, Ice Attack +2, Evasion +1, Cold Res +2,
 Recovery Speed +2
Gloves: Team Leader+2, Ice Attack+3, Handicraft+1, Cold Res+2,
 Recovery Speed+2
Waist: Team Leader +1, Ice Attack +2, Evasion +2, Cold Res +2,
 Recovery Speed +2
Boots: Team Leader +3, Ice Attack+1, Handicraft +2, Cold Res+2,
 Recovery Speed+3
Active Skills: Shakalaka Cheer, Ice Attack+1, Cold Cancel,
 Recovery Speed +1
This set doesn't have much going for it. No really good skills
 besides Recovery Speed +1. And he seems to have gotten a lot
harder in G rank. I don't think its worth it

Wroggi X
Defense: 360 Slots: 8
Fire=15, Water=-15, Ice=-25, Thunder=0, Dragon=15
Helmet: Team Player +3, Eating +2, Sharpness +2, Defense Lock +2,
Fencing +1
Chest: Team Player +1, Eating +2, Sharpness +1, Defense Lock +2,
 Handicraft +1
Gloves: Team Player +1, Eating +1, Sharpness +5, Defense Lock+2,
 Punish Draw +2
Waist: Team Player +3, Eating +3, Sharpness +1, Defense Lock +2,
 Fencing +3
Boots: Team Player +2, Eating +2, Sharpness +1, Defense Lock +2,
 Handicraft +2
Active Skills: Shakalaka Rally, Speed Eating +1, Razor Sharp, Iron
 Skin
As with all of the wroggi sets, this one is great (better for
 solo). All of the skills are great except Iron Skin, but Iron
Skin is very useful for Deviljho. Very nice set again

Arzuros X
Defense: 360 Slots: 8
Fire=-25, Water=15, Ice=-15, Thunder=0, Dragon=15
Helmet: Gluttony +3, Charmer +2, Honey +2, Speed Gather +2
Chest: Gluttony +1(+2), Whim +3(+6), Honey +2(+4), Speed Gather
 +1(+2)
Gloves: Gluttony +3, Charmer +2, Honey +3, Speed Gather +3
Waist: Gluttony +2, Charmer +2, Honey +1, Speed Gather +3
Boots: Torso Up
Active Skills: Gourmand, Honey Hunter, Speed Gathering
This is The gathering set of G rank. It already has 2 good
 gathering skills, but it has the potential to get 2 more (but
you're gonna have to be pretty lucky to get a charmer talisman).
If you want/need a gathering set, get this one

Lagombi X
Defense: 360 Slots: 5
Fire=-25, Water=0, Ice=15, Thunder=-5, Dragon=0
Helmet: Mud/Snow +3, Dive Distance +2, Stamina Recovery +2,
Sheathing +1, Handicraft +3
Chest: Mud/Snow +1, Dive Distance +2, Stamina Recovery +2,
Sheathing +1, Unscathed +1
Gloves: Mud/Snow +1, Dive Distance +1, Stamina Recovery +2,
Sheathing +4, Unscathed +2
Waist: Mud/Snow+2, Dive Distance +2, Stamina Recovery +2,
Sheathing +3, Guts+2
Boots: Mud/Snow+2, Dive Distance +3, Stamina Recovery +2,
Sheathing +1, Guts+2
Active Skills:Negate Mud/Snow, Dive Extender, Stamina Recovery Up,
Quick Sheath
This set has a lot of skills (and potential skills) but none of
them are all that impressive. Some of the potential skills are
nice but it is too much work ot gem them so this set isn't the
best out there

Volvidon X
Defense: 360 Slots: 6
Fire=15, Water=-25(-35), Ice=-5, Thunder=0, Dragon=10
Helmet: Biology +3, Evasion +1, Tremor Res +1, Water Res -2
Chest: Biology +1(+2), Evasion +2(+4), Tremor Res +2(+4), Free
Element +2(+4) Water Res -2(-4)
Gloves: Biology +4, Evasion +2, Tremor Res +3, Fencing +2, Water
Res -2
Waist: Biology +1, Evasion +3, Tremor Res +2, Fencing +3, Water
Res -2
Boots: Torso Up
Active Skills: Biomaster, Evasion +1, Tremor Resistance, Water Res
 -10
A slightly worse form of the previous Volvidon sets. I wish they
 switched Biomaster with one of the other skills but oh well.
Biomaster is interesting and nice for only a select few fights,
while Evasion is always a good skill. Not too bad if you get
soiled a lot by Steel Urugaan

Ingot X
Defense: 380 Slots: 7
Fire=-15, Water=-15, Ice=0, Thunder=15, Dragon=10
Helmet: Thunder Attack +4, Sheathing +3, Guard Up +2, Handicraft
+1, Whim -2
Chest: Thunder Attack +3, Sheathing +1, Guard Up +2, Critical Draw
 +1, Whim -2
Gloves: Thunder Attack +3, Sheathing +3, Guard Up +1, Handicraft
 +1, Whim -2
Waist: Thunder Attack +1, Sheathing +2, Guard Up +3, Critical Draw
 +1, Whim -2
Boots: Thunder Attack +4, Sheathing +1, Guard Up +2, Handicraft
 +1, Whim -2
Active Skills: Thunder Attack +2, Quick Sheath, Guard Up,
 Spectre's Whim
This is kinda a terrible set. Guard Up is decent for lances and
 gunlances I guess but other than that skill, this set has nothing
worthwhile. As with the previous versions, only get if you Need
Guard Up

Qurupeco X
Defense: 380 Slots: 6
Fire=20, Water=-5, Ice=-25(-35), Thunder=0, Dragon=0
Helmet: Wide Range +5, Perception +3, Maestro +3, Free Element +1,
Ice Res -2
Chest: Wide Range +3, Perception +2, Maestro +1, Free Element +1,
Ice Res -2
Gloves: Wide Range +5, Perception +1, Maestro +2, Free Element +2,
Ice Res -2
Waist: Wide Range +5, Perception +1, Maestro +2, Handicraft +2,
Ice Res -2
Boots: Wide Range +2, Perception +3, Handicraft +1, Ice Res -2
Active Skills: Wide Range +2, Capture Guru, Ice Res -10
Its just annoying that they don't give you Horn Maestro. But this
 set is very good for support hunting horns (again) if you gem it
in. Thats all this armor set is good for, support

Ludroth X
Defense: 390 Slots: 6
Fire=-25, Water=20, Ice=-5, Thunder=-5, Dragon=5
Helmet: Water Attack +4, Hearing +2, Eating +1, Stamina +1,
Thunder Attack -2
Chest: Water Attack +2, Hearing +1, Fate +2, Stamina +2,
Thunder Attack -1
Gloves: Water Attack +5, Hearing +2, Eating +1, Stamina +1,
Thunder Attack -2
Waist: Water Attack +2, Hearing +3, Fate +1, Stamina +3, Thunder
Attack -2
Boots: Water Attack +2, Hearing +1, Eating +1, Stamina +3, Thunder
Attack -2
Active Skills: Water Attack +2, Marathon Runner
This set is strange in that it stops one point short of the
negative skill and the hearing skill. Regardless, this set is nice
for earplugs and marathon runner so is a nice beginning G armor

Plesioth X (4 pieces-no waist)
Defense: 400 Slots: 5 (+ any slots on the chosen waist piece)
Fire=-20, Water=16, Ice=8, Thunder=-24, Dragon=8
Helmet: Speed Setup +4, Tranquilizer +3, Fencing +3, Punishing
Draw +1, Constitution -1
Chest: Speed Setup +1, Tranquilizer +3, Fencing +3, Hearing +1,
Constitution -1
Gloves: Speed Setup+4, Tranquilizer+5, Fencing +1, Free Element
 +1, Constitution-1
Boots: Speed Setup +1, Tranquilizer +4, Fencing +3, Handicraft +1,
 Constitution -1
Active Skills: Trapmaster, Capture Master, Mind's Eye
This is an amazing set if you like to capture. Mind's Eye is one
of the best skills in the game and capture master is great for
capturing monsters. You also can customize your set around your
waist piece for some other good skills if you are good enough.
Highly recommended

Rathian X
Defense: 400 Slots: 7
Fire=20, Water=0, Ice=0, Thunder=-10, Dragon=-25
Helmet: Health+5, Recovery Level+2, Fire Attack+2, Free Element+1,
Water Attack-2
Chest: Health +1, Recovery Level+2, Fire Attack+2, Free Element
+1, Water Attack-2
Gloves: Health+5, Recovery Level+1, Fire Attack+3, Free Element
+1, Water Attack-2
Waist: Health +2, Recovery Level +2, Fire Attack +3, Fate +1,
Water Attack -2
Boots: Health +2, Recovery Level +3, Fire Attack +4, Fate +1,
Water Attack -2
Active Skills: Health +50, Recovery Up, Fire Attack +1, Water
Attack Down
This set is still the same: useless. Even in G Rank, it doesn't
get any useful skills. Don't get this set

Barioth X
Defense: 405 Slots: 6
Fire=-30, Water=0, Ice=-20, Thunder=-10, Dragon=0
Helmet: Constitution+3, Ice Attack+2, Evasion+1, Handicraft +2,
Stamina Recovery-2
Chest: Constitution +1, Ice Attack +3, Evasion +2, Crit Draw +1,
Stamina Recovery -2
Gloves: Constitution+4, Ice Attack +2, Evasion +3, Crit Draw +1,
Stamina Recovery-2
Waist: Constitution +4, Ice Attack +3, Evasion +3, Crit Draw +2,
Stamina Recovery -2
Boots: Constitution +3, Ice Attack +2, Evasion +1, Handicraft+2,
Stamina Recovery -2
Active Skills: Constitution +2, Ice Attack +1, Evasion +1, Stamina
Recovery Down
This set isn't that great. All it really has is Evasion +1 (though
Constitution +2 can be useful), and there are better sets with
evasion (such as nargacuga X)

Barroth X (Different Elemental Resistances)
Defense: 410 Slots: 6
Helmet Res: Fire=0, Water=0, Ice=-3, Thunder=2, Dragon=0
Chest/Gloves Res: Fire=-4, Water=4, Ice=-3, Thunder=2, Dragon=0
Waist/Boots Res: Fire=4, Water=-4, Ice=-3, Thunder=2, Dragon=0
Helmet: Attack +3, Guard +2, Constitution +2, Free Element +1,
Hunger -2
Chest: Attack +1, Guard +1, Constitution +1, Stamina +2, Hunger -2
Gloves: Attack +3, Guard +1, Constitution +2, Free Element +2,
Hunger -2
Waist: Attack +3, Guard +3, Constitution +2, Fencing +1, Hunger -2
Boots: Attack +3, Guard +3, Constitution +3, Fencing +1, Hunger -2
Active Skills: Attack Up Small, Guard +1, Constitution +1, Raise
Hunger
This set is ok. Its pretty nice for lances/gunlances if you have
some good charms to bump both of the '+1' skills to '+2' skills.
If you aren't a lancer/gunlancer, try another set

Gobul X
Defense: 410 Slots: 7
Fire=-15, Water=20, Ice=0, Thunder=-25, Dragon=5
Helmet: Expert +5, Eating +3, Swimming +2, Evade Distance +2,
Recovery Speed -2
Chest: Expert +2, Eating +2, Swimming +2, Evade Distance +1,
Recovery Speed -2
Gloves: Expert +3, Eating +1, Swimming +4, Fencing +2, Recovery
Speed -2
Waist: Expert +3, Eating +2, Evade Distance +1, Recovery Speed -2
Boots: Expert +2, Eating +2, Swimming +2, Fencing +2, Recovery
Speed -2
Active Skills: Critical Eye +2, Speed Eating +1, Olympic Swimmer,
Recovery Speed -1
This set is practically the same as its predecessors. Expert and
potential speed eating +2 are both good, and the swimming skill
can be useful. Nice but not the best

Gigginox X
Defense: 415 Slots: 8
Fire=-30, Water=0, Ice=10, Thunder=10, Dragon=-5
Helmet: Free Element +3, Sharpener +2, Status +2, Unscathed +1,
Element -2
Chest: Free Element +2, Sharpener +2, Status +2, Evasion +1,
Element -2
Gloves: Free Element +2, Sharpener +3, Status +4, Unscathed +1,
Element -2
Waist: Free Element +2, Sharpener +3, Status +3, Evasion +1,
Element -2
Boots: Free Element +1, Status +4, Evasion +1, Element -2
Active Skills: Awaken, Speed Sharpening, Status Attack +2, Element
Down
Finally, the first set to give you awakening instead of taunting
you with it. This set is nice for status weapons or weapons who
awakened element is a status. Don't use with elemental weapons,
because you can't gem it off unless you have beaten Alatreon

Nibelsnarf X
Defense: 415 Slots: 6
Fire=15, Water=0, Ice=-30, Thunder=-10, Dragon=5
Helmet: Eating +5, Punish Draw +3, Expert +2, Sheathing +2,
Thunder Attack -2
Chest: Eating +3, Punish Draw +1, Expert +2, Sheathing +1, Thunder
Attack -2
Gloves: Eating+2, Punish Draw+2, Free Element+1, Sheathing +3,
Thunder Attack -2
Waist: Punish Draw +1, Free Element +2, Sheathing +3, Thunder
Attack -2
Boots: Eating +5, Punish Draw +3, Handicraft +3, Sheathing +1,
Thunder Attack -2
Active Skills: Speed Eating +2, Punishing Draw, Quick Sheath,
Thunder Attack Down
This is a nice set if you want to punish draw. If you know what
 attacks have an added stun damage, use it well with this set. If
you don't its best to either learn or don't get the set. It also
has speed eating +2, which is always good

Duramboros X
Defense: 420 Slots: 8
Fire=-30, Water=15, Ice=-10, Thunder=5, Dragon=5
Helmet: Survivor +3, Punish Draw +3, Handicraft +1, Stamina Drain
 +1, Expert -3
Chest: Survivor +1, Punish Draw +1, Destroyer +2, Stamina Drain
+1, Expert -2
Gloves: Survivor +3, Punish Draw +4, Fencing +2, Stamina Drain +3,
Expert -2
Waist: Survivor +1, Free Element +3, Stamina Drain +2, Expert -2
Boots: Survivor +2, Punish Draw +2, Handicraft +2, Stamina Drain
 +3, Expert -1
Active Skills: Fortify, Punishing Draw, Stamina Thief, Critical
 Eye -1
As with all of the past Duramboros sets, this set is only useful
 if you are skilled enough to use fortify well (and want to use
it). The other skills are nice as well but its best if you skip it
if you don't intend on using fortify.

Nargacuga X
Defense: 425 Slots: 7
Fire=-10, Water=10, Ice=5, Thunder=-30, Dragon=5
Helmet: Sense +4, Evade Distance +2, Evasion +2, Handicraft +1,
Stamina -2
Chest: Sense +1, Evade Distance +1, Evasion +3, Handicraft +2,
Stamina -2
Gloves: Sense +1, Evade Distance +2, Evasion +4, Tenderizer +1,
Stamina -2
Waist: Sense +2, Evade Distance +2, Evasion +1, Stamina -2
Boots: Sense +2, Evade Distance +3, Evasion +5, Tenderizer +2,
Stamina -2
Active Skills: Sneak, Evade Extender, Evasion +2, Short Sprinter
Nearly identical to its predecessor, this set is the almighty
evasion set now that it has evasion +2. If you like/need evasion
boosts, get this set. But, as with the older one, all it's good
 for is evasion

Helios X
Defense: 425 Slots: 7
Fire=0, Water=20, Ice=5, Thunder=-10, Dragon=-35
Helmet: Hearing +4, Free Element +2, Destroyer +2, Fencing +1,
Protectoin -2
Chest: Hearing +3, Free Element +1, Destroyer +1, Fencing +2,
Protection -2
Gloves: Hearing +1, Free Element +3, Destroyer +3, Handicraft +1,
Protection -2
Waist: Hearing +3, Free Element +2, Destroyer +2, Handicraft +1,
Protection -2
Boots: Hearing +4, Free Element +2, Destoyer +2, Handicraft +2,
Protection -2
Active Skills: HG Earplugs, Awaken, Partbreaker, Demonic Blessing
This set is pretty nice. HG earplugs is always good, and so is
partbreaker. Awaken is situationally good, but if you want to use
that skill, this is a great set

Rathalos X
Defense: 440 Slots: 5
Fire=20, Water=0, Ice=0, Thunder=-10, Dragon=-30
Helmet: Attack +4, Sharpener +3, Fire Attack +3, Critical Draw +1,
Recovery Level -3
Chest: Attack +2, Sharpener +1, Fire Attack +1, Critical Draw +1,
Recovery Level -2
Gloves: Attack +5, Sharpener +2, Fire Attack +3, Tenderizer +1,
Recovery Level -3
Waist: Attack +4, Sharpener +4, Fire Attack +2, Tenderizer +1,
Recovery Level -2
Boots: Attack +3, Fire Attack +1, Tenderizer +1, Recovery Level -3
Active Skills: Attack Up Medium, Speed Sharpening, Fire Attack +1,
Recovery Down
As with all the previous Rathalos sets, this one is completely
useless. The only good skill on here is Attack Up Medium, which is
easy to obtain on many other better sets. Skip this one.

Diablos X
Defense: 445 Slots: 6
Fire=20, Water=0, Ice=-30, Thunder=0, Dragon=0
Helmet: Critical Draw +3, Sheathing +2, Handicraft +2, Tremor Res
+1, Sharpener -2
Chest: Critical Draw +2, Sheathing +1, Handicraft +2, Tremor Res
+2, Sharpener -2
Gloves: Critical Draw +3, Sheathing +3, Eating +3, Tremor Res +3,
Sharpener -2
Waist:Critical Draw +2, Sheathing +3, Punish Draw +3, Tremor Res
+3, Sharpener -2
Boots: Sheathing +1, Fencing +3, Tremor Res +1, Sharpener -2
Active Skills: Critical Draw, Quick Sheath, Tremor Resistance,
Slow Sharpening
This set is very useful if you plan to use critical draw to the
fullest. This is best performed with great swords. Quick sheath is
useful for when you have done a draw attack and need to run away.
Pretty good if you want that skill

Agnaktor X
Defense: 450 Slots: 8
Fire=20, Water=-30, Ice=-5, Thunder=0, Dragon=0
Helmet: Sharpness+4, Fire Attack+4, Constitution+3, Flame Aura+1,
Free Element+1
Chest: Sharpness +2, Fire Attack +2, Constitution +2, Flame Aura
+3, Handicraft +2
Gloves: Sharpness +2, Fire Attack +2, Flame Aura +1, Fencing +3
Waist: Fire Attack +1, Constitution +3, Flame Aura +2, Free
Element +2
Boots: Sharpness +2, Fire Attack +3, Constitution +2, Flame Aura
+2, Handicraft +1
Active Skills: Razor Sharp, Fire Attack +1, Constitution +1, Flame
Aura
This set isn't too bad. Not the best one out there though, that's
for sure. Razor sharp is awesome, but the other skills are kinda
meh. I guess constitution is useful sometimes but the others are
mostly useless

Brachydios X
Defense: 450 Slots: 8
Fire=20, Water=-30, Ice=-10, Thunder=0, Dragon=0
Helmet: Spirit +2, Potential +2, Bomb Boost +2, Critical Draw +1,
Evasion -2
Chest: Spirit +3, Potential +1, Bomb Boost +2, Critical Draw +1,
Evasion -2
Gloves: Spirit +3, Potential +3, Bomb Boost +3, Critical Draw +1,
Evasion -2
Waist: Spirit +4, Potential +2, Bomb Boost +1, Evade Distance +1,
Evasion -2
Boots: Spirit +3, Potential +2, Bomb Boost +2, Evade Distance +1,
 Evasion -2
Active Skills: Challenger +2, Adrenaline +1, Bombardier, Evasion
Down
This set is really good for Challenger +2. That skill is awesome
(and you look really cool when it is activated). You should
probably use and upgrade the potential skill if you want to use
this set to its max potential (that was a joke). Oh, and use slime
weapons, and gem out evasion

Lagiacrus X
Defense: 450 Slots: 7
Fire=-30, Water=5, Ice=-5, Thunder=20, Dragon=-5
Helmet: Free Element +3, Critical Draw +2, Tenderizer +1,
Fast Charge +1, Status -2
Chest: Free Element +1, Handicraft +2, Tenderizer +2, Fast Charge
+2, Status -2
Gloves: Free Element +3, Handicraft +1, Tenderizer +3, Fast Charge
 +3, Status -2
Waist: Stamina Drain +1, Tenderizer +2, Fast Charge +1, Status -2
Boots: Free Element +3, Stamina Drain +2, Tenderizer +2, Fast
Charge +3, Status -2
Active Skills: Awaken, Weakness Exploit, Focus, Status Attack Down
This set is nice because it has Awaken (which is a very nice skill
for heavy weapons without an element) and Focus. Weakness Exploit
is all right but not the best out there. If you want those two
skills, get this (or try gemming it in the Helios X set for better
 skills)

Urugaan X
Defense: 455 (480) Slots: 5
Fire=20, Water=-30, Ice=-5, Thunder=5, Dragon=-10
Helmet: Punish Draw +3, Defense +3, Swimming -2
Chest: Punish Draw +1(+2), Defense +5(+10), Fast Charge +2(+4),
Bomb Boost +1(+2), Swimming -2(-4)
Gloves: Punish Draw +2, Defense +3, Fast Charge +4, Bomb Boost +1,
 Swimming -2
Waist: Punish Draw +3, Defense +4, Fast Charge +2, Bomb Boost +1,
 Swimming -2
Boots: Torso Up
Active Skills: Punishing Draw, Defense Up Large, Focus, Doggy
 Paddler
Another punishing draw set. If you prefer focus over speed eating
 +2(from Nibel X) and want punishing draw, then get this set.
Again, if you don't want punishing draw, then don't get this set

Zinogre X
Defense: 460 Slots: 8
Fire=0, Water=-15, Ice=-30, Thunder=20, Dragon=5
Helmet: Sharpness +3, Gloves Off +2, Thunder Attack +2, Guts +1,
Sense -2
Chest: Gloves Off +1, Thunder Attack +1, Unscathed +2, Sense -1
Gloves: Sharpness +3, Gloves Off +5, Thunder Attack +3, Fencing
 +1, Sense -2
Waist: Sharpness +2, Gloves Off +3, Thunder Attack +1, Sense -2
Boots: Sharpness +2, Gloves Off +4, Thunder Attack +3, Handicraft
+2, Sense -2
Active Skills: Razor Sharp, Latent Power +2, Thunder Attack +1,
 Taunt
This is nearly the same as the predecessor except obviously Latent
 Power +2 is better than +1.
Again, if only Latent Power was a bit more reliable, this would be
 an amazing set. Oh well. Its a pretty nice set though

RARITY 9 ARMORS
These are mainly the G rank subspecies' armor sets

Mossgharl X
Defense: 360 Slots: 8
Fire=-25, Water=5, Ice=20, Thunder=0, Dragon=0
Helmet: Combo Rate +5, Free Element +2, Combo Plus +2, Recovery
Speed +2, Fast Charge +1
Chest: Combo Rate +2, Destroyer +1, Combo Plus +2, Recovery Speed
+2, Fast Charge +1
Gloves: Combo Rate +1, Destroyer +2, Combo Plus +2, Recovery Speed
 +3, Fast Charge +3
Waist: Combo Rate +1, Destroyer +1, Combo Plus +2, Recovery Speed
 +3, Fast Charge +2
Boots: Combo Rate +1, Free Element +2, Combo Plus +2, Recovery
 Speed +1, Fast Charge +3
Active Skills: Combination +20%, Combination Pro, Recovery Speed
 +1, Focus
This set isn't very good. There are too many combination skills
 (when those can be made obsolete with a combo book) and it is
very hard and time consuming to make. Don't bother with this one

Qurupeco Z
Defense: 380 Slots: 6
Fire=-5, Water=0, Ice=-25, Thunder=20, Dragon=0
Helmet: Wind Res +5, Defense Lock +3, Wide Range +2, Expert +2,
Sleep -2
Chest: Wind Res +2, Defense Lock +3, Wide Range +2, Expert +1,
 Sleep -2
Gloves: Wind Res +2, Defense Lock +1, Wide Range +3, Expert +4,
 Sleep -2
Waist: Wind Res +3, Defense Lock +2, Wide Range +1, Expert +2,
 Sleep -2
Boots: Wind Res +3, Defense Lock +1, Wide Range +3, Expert +1,
 Sleep -2
Active Skills: Windproof High, Iron Skin, Wide Range+1, Critical
 Eye+1, Double Sleep
If you gem in wide range +2, this is a much better support set
 than qurupeco X, and it works better for all weapons instead of
just hunting horns. If you want to support early in G rank, get
this one

Ludroth Z
Defense: 390 Slots: 7
Fire=-25, Water=20, Ice=0, Thunder=-10, Dragon=5
Helmet: Hunger +4, Poison +3, Status +2, Stamina +2
Chest: Hunger +3, Poison +3, Status +1, Stamina +1
Gloves: Hunger +3, Poison +1, Status +4, Stamina +3
Waist: Hunger +3, Poison +2, Status +2, Stamina +2
Boots: Hunger +2, Poison +1, Status +4, Stamina +2
Active Skills: Negate Hunger, Negate Poison, Status Attack +1,
Marathon Runner
Since the wroggi G rank set ditched the negate poison skill, if
 you Really need negate poison, this is a good set. Those stamina
boost skills are nice as well, and status attack is great for
status weapons. If you want/need any of thos skills, get it

Plesioth Z (only 4 pieces-no waist)
Defense: 410 Slots: 7 (+ any slots on a waist piece you choose)
Fire=-20, Water=16, Ice=8, Thunder=-24, Dragon=8
Helmet: Sea Legs +3, Stamina +3, Tenderizer +1, Constitution -2
Chest: Sea Legs +2, Stamina +3, Tenderizer +2, Constitution -2
Gloves: Sea Legs +2, Stamina +1, Tenderizer +3, Constitution -2
Boots: Sea Legs +3, Stamina +3, Tenderizer +4, Constitution -2
Active Skills: Ocean's Blessing, Marathon Runner, Weakness Exploit
Not quite as good as Plesioth X, but this set is nice. The skills
it comes with are pretty good, and it is very customizable with
the waist piece you choose to add in. Good, but Green Plesioth is
tough

Rath Heart Z
Defense: 400 Slots: 6
Fire=20, Water=0, Ice=0, Thunder=-10, Dragon=-30
Helmet: Potential +2, Fire Attack +2, Wind Res +2, Lasting Power
+1, Sense -1
Chest: Potential +2, Fire Attack +1, Wind Res +3, Lasting Power
+2, Sense -1
Gloves: Potential +2, Fire Attack +3, Wind Res +2, Lasting Power
+2, Sense -1
Waist: Potential +3, Fire Attack +3, Wind Res +4, Lasting Power
+3, Sense -1
Boots: Potential +1, Fire Attack +4, Wind Res +4, Lasting Power
+2, Sense -1
Active Skills: Adrenaline +1, Fire Attack +1, Windproof High, Item
Effect Up
This set isn't very impressive. The only worthwhile skill on this
is the potential adrenaline +2, but that is on other better sets,
so if you want that get another set.

Barioth Z
Defense: 430 Slots: 9
Fire=20, Water=0, Ice=-30, Thunder=-10, Dragon=0
Helmet: Heat Res +3, Attack +3, Evade Distance+2, Stamina Recovery
 +2, Evasion-2
Chest: Heat Res +2, Attack +2, Evade Distance +1, Stamina Recovery
 +1, Evasion -1
Gloves: Heat Res +2, Attack +5, Evade Distance +3, Evasion -2
Waist: Heat Res +2, Attack +3, Evade Distance +2, Stamina Recovery
 +1, Evasion -2
Boots: Heat Res +1, Attack +2, Evade Distance +2, Evasion -3
Active Skills: Heat Cancel, Attack Up Medium, Evade Extender,
 Evasion Down
Essentially the same as the predecessor. Very good all around set,
 and can get some other great skills with all the slots. Evasion
Down is bad though so gem it out too

Barroth Z
Defense: 410 Slots: 4
Fire=-20, Water=10, Ice=15, Thunder=-10, Dragon=0
Helmet: Ice Attack +3, Defense +3, Potential +1, Hearing +1, Fire
 Attack -2
Chest: Ice Attack +2, Defense +2, Potential +2, Hearing +1, Fire
 Attack -2
Gloves: Ice Attack +5, Defense +1, Potential +1, Hearing +1, Fire
 Attack -2
Waist: Ice Attack +3, Defense +2, Potential +3, Hearing +3, Fire
 Attack -2
Boots: Ice Attack +2, Defense +2, Potential +3, Hearing +4, Fire
 Attack -2
Active Skills: Ice Attack+2, Defense Up Small, Adrenaline+1,
 Earplugs, Fire Attack Down
This is a much better set than the high rank one because of the
inclusion of Earplugs. Only problem is that there are only a few
slots making customization difficult. Try to gem in Adrenaline +2

Gigginox Z
Defense: 415 Slots: 8
Fire=0, Water=-30, Ice=10, Thunder=20, Dragon=-5
Helmet: Thunder Attack +2, Fast Charge +2, Stamina Drain +1, Ice
Attack -2
Chest: Thunder Attack +3, Fast Charge +1, Stamina Drain +1, Ice
Attack -2
Gloves: Thunder Attack +4, Fast Charge +2, Stamina Drain +3, Ice
Attack -2
Waist: Thunder Attack +3, Fast Charge +3, Stamina Drain +2, Ice
Attack -2
Boots: Thunder Attack +4, Fast Charge +2, Stamina Drain +3, Ice
Attack -2
Active Skills: Thunder Attack +2, Focus, Stamina Thief, Ice Attack
 Down
This set is all right. Its not that great. Focus is great as
always, but other sets have it and better skills (Narga Z, Zinogre
Z), so i suggest you choose one of those instead of this one

Duramboros Z
Defense: 430 Slots: 9
Fire=15, Water=-20, Ice=-20, Thunder=5, Dragon=5
Helmet: Guts +2, Free Element +2, Attack +1, Evasion -2
Chest: Guts +3, Free Element +2, Attack +1, Evasion -2
Gloves: Guts +1, Free Element +2, Attack +4, Evasion -2
Waist: Guts +2, Free Element +1, Attack +1, Evasion -2
Boots: Guts +2, Free Element +3, Attack +3, Evasion -2
Active Skills: Guts, Awaken, Attack Up Small, Evasion Down
This is an interesting set. Guts is a really nifty skill if it
works (I have never tried it). Awaken is another good skill and
so is Attack Up Small. Pretty good set and is highly customizable
because of 9 slots

Nargacuga Z
Defense: 435 Slots: 9
Fire=-10, Water=10, Ice=5, Thunder=-30, Dragon=5
Helmet: Evasion +4, Stamina Recovery +2, Fast Charge +1,
Constitution -2
Chest: Evasion +3, Stamina Recovery +1, Fast Charge +3,
Constitution -2
Gloves: Evasion +3, Stamina Recovery +1, Fast Charge +3,
Constitution -2
Waist: Evasion +2, Stamina Recovery +4, Fast Charge +1,
Constitution -2
Boots: Evasion +3, Stamina Recovery +2, Fast Charge +2,
Constitution -2
Active Skills: Evasion +2, Stamina Recovery Up, Focus,
Constitution -1
This is a nice set for focus. It has the ever useful evasion skill
 and stamina recovery up. All good skills and very customizable.
Very nice but maybe this was just me, but I found Green Nargacuga
very difficult the first couple times

Helios Z
Defense: 430 Slots: 8
Fire=0, Water=20, Ice=5, Thunder=-10, Dragon=-35
Helmet: Hearing +3, Handicraft +2, Water Attack +1, Sharpness -2
Chest: Hearing +4, Handicraft +1, Water Attack +2, Sharpness -1
Gloves: Hearing +3, Handicraft +3, Water Attack +3, Sharpness -2
Waist: Hearing +2, Handicraft +1, Water Attack +2, Sharpness -3
Boots: Hearing +3, Handicraft +3, Water Attack +2, Sharpness -2
Active Skills: HG Earplugs, Sharpness +1, Water Attack +1, Blunt
Edge
This is an awesome set very similar to MH Tri's Ceadeus Armor. HG
Earplugs and Sharpness +1 are some of the best skills in the game.
Blunt edge is horrible and annoying, because you can't gem it off
without getting rid of Sharpness +1. If you have a Sharpness
charm, now is the time to use it. Very useful set

Rath Soul Z
Defense: 450 Slots: 8
Fire=20, Water=0, Ice=-10, Thunder=0, Dragon=-30
Helmet: Hearing +2, Expert +2, Fencing +1, Health -2
Chest: Hearing +1, Expert +3, Fencing +1, Health -2
Gloves: Hearing +1, Expert +6, Fencing +3, Health -2
Waist: Hearing +4, Expert +5, Fencing +3, Health -2
Boots: Hearing +2, Expert +4, Fencing +2, Health -2
Active Skills: Earplugs, Critical Eye +3, Mind's Eye, Health -10
This a very offensive-orriented set. All the positive skills on it
 are amazing and always useful. This a very useful offense based
set in later G rank

Diablos Z
Defense: 445 Slots: 9
Fire=2-, Water=0, Ice=-30, Thunder=0, Dragon=0
Helmet: KO +4, Stamina Drain +2, Tenderizer +2, Dragon Attack -2
Chest: KO +1, Stamina Drain +1, Tenderizer +2, Dragon Attack -2
Gloves: KO +1, Stamina Drain +4, Tenderizer +3, Dragon Attack -2
Waist: KO +2, Stamina Drain +2, Tenderizer +2, Dragon Attack -2
Boots: KO +2, Stamina Drain +1, Tenderizer +1, Dragon Attack -2
Active Skills: Knockout King, Stamina Thief, Weakness Exploit,
Dragon Attack Down
This is a very good hammer (and to a lesser extent hunting horn)
set having 2 skills that affect the damage done to the head of the
monster. Weakness Exploit helps if the monster is weak in the head
as well

Agnaktor Z
Defense: 450 Slots: 7
Fire=-30, Water=15, Ice=20, Thunder=-10, Dragon=-10
Helmet: Guard +3, Guard Up +2, Fencing +2, Constitution -3
Chest: Guard +3, Guard Up +2, Fencing +1, Constitution -1
Gloves: Guard +2, Guard Up +1, Fencing +3, Constitution -3
Waist: Guard +3, Guard Up +2, Fencing +1, Constitution -3
Boots: Guard +4, Guard Up +3, Fencing +3, Constitution -3
Active Skills: Guard +2, Guard Up, Mind's Eye, Constitution -1
This is an amazing set for lances/gunlances. Coming with 2 great
guarding skills, and the wonderful mind's eye, this is a must-have
for lances

Lagiacrus Z
Defense: 460 Slots: 8
Fire=-25, Water=10, Ice=0, Thunder=20, Dragon=-25
Helmet: Attack +3, Blight Res +2, Destroyer +2, Stamina -2
Chest: Attack +1, Blight Res +1, Destroyer +1, Stamina -2
Gloves: Attack +5, Blight Res +2, Destroyer +2, Stamina -2
Waist: Attack +2, Blight Res +2, Destroyer +2, Stamina -2
Boots: Attack +4, Blight Res +3, Destroyer +3, Stamina -2
Active Skills: Attack Up Medium, Blightproof, Partbreaker, Short
Stamina
Nearly identical to the high rank version, this set is still
amazing with lots of great skills. This set is really good

Urugaan Z
Defense: 455 Slots: 6
Fire=20, Water=-30, Ice=-5, Thunder=5, Dragon=-10
Helmet: Artillery +4, Guard +4, Fencing +2, Biology +2, Swimming
-2
Chest: Artillery +1, Guard +2, Fencing +2, Biology +3, Swimming -1
Gloves: Artillery +2, Guard +1, Fencing +4, Biology +1, Swimming
-2
Waist: Artillery +5, Guard +2, Fencing +2, Biology +2, Swimming -3
Boots: Artillery +3, Guard +1, Biology +2, Swimming -2
Active Skills: Artillery Master, Guard +1, Mind's Eye, Biomaster,
Doggy Paddler
This is a nice alternative for a lancer/gunlancer. However, it is
 more suited for gunlances with the shell/wyvern fire boost in
damage. Pretty good for either class though really

Zinogre Z
Defense: 470 Slots: 6
Fire=0, Water=-10, Ice=0, Thunder=-30, Dragon=20
Helmet: Evasion+2,Fast Charge+2, Unscathed+1, Dragon Attack
+1,Recovery Level-2
Chest: Evasion+1, Fast Charge+3, Unscathed+1, Dragon Attack+2,
Recovery Level-2
Gloves: Evasion+1, Fast Charge+1,Unscathed+3,Dragon Attack+2,
Recovery Level-2
Waist: Evasion+3, Fast Charge+3, Unscathed+2, Dragon Attack+3,
Recovery Level-2
Boots: Evasion+3, Fast Charge+1, Unscathed+3, Dragon Attack+3,
Recovery Level-2
Active Skills: Evasion+1,Focus, Peak Performance, Dragon Attack
+1,Recovery Down
This is a pretty good set. If you are really good, you can use
peak performance to your advantage, but this set is still good
even if you can't pull off peak performance. Evasion and Focus are
always useful

Dober X
Defense: 460 Slots: 8
Fire=-15, Water=0, Ice=0, Thunder=0, Dragon=20
Helmet: Critical Draw +2, Dragon Attack +2, Tremor Res +2, Hunger
-2
Chest: Unscathed +2, Dragon Attack +2, Tremor Res +3, Evasion +2,
 Hunger-2
Gloves: Critical Draw +1, Dragon Attack +5,Tremor Res +2,Evasion
+3,Hunger-2
Waist: Unscathed +1, Dragon Attack +5, Tremor Res +1, Evasion +3,
 Hunger-2
Boots: Dragon Attack +1, Tremor Res +2, Evasion +2, Hunger -2
Active Skills: Dragon Attack +2, Tremor Resistance, Evasion +1,
Raise Hunger
An alternative to the Zinogre Z set if you want a bigger boost in
 dragon damage, and better elemental resistances. I prefer zinogre
Z but this is probably an easier option to make

Vangis X
Defense: 480 Slots: 10
Fire=0, Water=0, Ice=5, Thunder=-20, Dragon=-20
Helmet: Eating +5, Handicraft +2, Fury +1, Sharpness -1
Chest: Eating +4, Handicraft +1, Fury +1, Sharpness -2
Gloves: Eating +2, Handicraft +3, Fury +2, Sharpness -3
Waist: Eating +1, Handicraft +1, Fury +4, Sharpness -2
Boots: Eating +3, Handicraft +3, Fury +2, Sharpness -2
Active Skills: Speed Eating +2, Sharpness +1, Wrath Awoken, Blunt
Edge
This is an amazing set if you plan on using wrath awoken. That
 skill is essentially a more powerful Adrenaline +2, and the Guts
skill tied into one. Speed Eating +2 and Sharpness +1 are some of
the best skills in the game as well. Amazing but frustrating to
make. This set also has 10! slots making it extremely
customizable, but it has the annoying blunt edge...

RARITY 10 ARMORS
These are mainly the super rare G rank monster sets

Damascus X
Defense: 475 Slots: 6(?)
Fire=-15, Water=10, Ice=15, Thunder=-20, Dragon=-5
Helmet: Thunder Attack+3, Sharpener+2, Handicraft+2,Punish Draw+1,
Sharpness-2
Chest: (?)
Gloves: Thunder Attack+3, Sharpener+2, Handicraft+3,Punish Draw
+1, Sharpness-2
Waist: Thunder Attack +2, Sharpener +2, Handicraft +2, Fencing +1,
Sharpness -2
Boots: Thunder Attack +4, Sharpener +3, Handicraft +1, Fencing +1,
Sharpness -2
Active Skills (guessing): Thunder Attack +2, Speed Sharpening,
Sharpness +1, Blunt Edge
This set has the amazing sharpness +1 but thats it. All it has
thats worth anything. There are better sets that have sharpness +1
 like the one above so I suggest you get a different one

Lambent (Lucent Nargacuga)
Defense: 500 Slots: 5
Fire=5, Water=0, Ice=-35, Thunder=10, Dragon=-5
Helmet: Carving +4, Spirit +3, Status Res +2, Handicraft +2, Fate
-3
Chest: Carving +2, Spirit +1, Status Res +4, Handicraft +2, Fate
-2
Gloves: Carving +4, Spirit +1, Status Res +1, Handicraft +1, Fate
-3
Waist: Carving +2, Spirit +2, Handicraft +2, Fate -2
Boots: Carving +3, Spirit +3, Status Res +3, Handicraft +3, Fate
-2
Active Skills: Carving Master, Challenger +1, Wellness, Sharpness
+1, Bad Luck
This is my favorite set in the game, and definitely one of the
best in the game. It has the always great Sharpness +1, immunity
to all status ailments, extra carving rewards and an attack boost
when a monster is enraged. Its amazing! It is horribly annoying to
make with the cloudy moonshards and doesn't have many slots to
compensate

Silver (Silver Rathalos)
Defense: 500 Slots: 8
Fire=10, Water=-35, Ice=0, Thunder=-20, Dragon=20
Helmet: Sharpness +3, Fire Attack +3, Tenderizer +2, Recovery
Level -3
Chest: Sharpness +2, Tenderizer +1, Recovery Level -2
Gloves: Sharpness +1, Fire Attack +4, Tenderizer +2, Recovery
Level -3
Waist: Sharpness +1, Fire Attack +4, Tenderizer +2, Recovery Level
 -3
Boots: Sharpness +3, Fire Attack +4, Tenderizer +3, Recovery Level
 -3
Active Skills: Razor Sharp, Fire Attack +2, Weakness Exploit,
 Recovery Down
This set is pretty good, having one great, one good and one ok
 skill. Its not that bad, but the negative is really annoying and
difficult to gem out. Out of all the wonderful rarity 10 sets,
this is near the bottom

Golden (Gold Rathian)
Defense: 500 Slots: 10
Fire=10, Water=-20, Ice=0, Thunder=-35(-55), Dragon=20
Helmet: Fate +2, Destroyer +1, Protection +1, Thunder Res -2
Chest: Fate +2, Destroyer +1, Protection +2, Thunder Res -2
Gloves: Fate +4, Destroyer +4, Protection +2, Thunder Res -2
Waist: Fate +3, Destroyer +2, Protection +1, Thunder Res -2
Boots: Fate +4, Destoyer +2, Protection +4, Thunder Res -2
Active Skills: Great Luck, Partbreaker, Divine Blessing, Thunder
Res -20
This is a good farming set, if you are still farming at this stage
 of the game. Great Luck and Partbreaker make getting monster
parts easier. This set also nullifies dragon blight which is very
good too. Pretty good, but I prefer Lambent for a farming set

Yumato Prime (Hallowed Jhen Mohran)
Defense: 520 Slots: 7
Fire=-35, Water=15, Ice=15, Thunder=-10, Dragon=-10
Helmet: Health +4, Handicraft +2, Sharpness +3, Stamina -2
Chest: Health +2, Handicraft +2, Sharpness +1, Stamina -2
Gloves: Health +4, Handicraft +2, Sharpness +3, Stamina -2
Waist: Health +2, Handicraft +2, Sharpness +1, Stamina -2
Boots: Health +3, Handicraft +2, Sharpness +2, Stamina -2
Active Skills: Health +50, Sharpness +1, Razor Sharp, Short Sprinter
This is a pretty good set because it has the best 2 blademaster
skills (sharpness +1 and razor sharp) in the game. Those skills
are Very useful. This set is really good, but you have to fight
nearly every monster before fighting him, so it may take a while
 to unlock him

Nether (Abyssal Lagiacrus)
Defense: 630 Slots: 6
Fire=-25, Water=15, Ice=0, Thunder=20, Dragon=-35
Helmet: Current Res +5, Stamina Recovery +2, Edgemaster +1, Expert
-1
Chest: Current Res +2, Stamina Recovery +2, Edgemaster +2, Expert
 -3
Gloves: Stamina Recovery +1, Edgemaster +3, Expert -4
Waist: Current Res +4, Stamina Recovery +3, Edgemaster +3, Expert
-2
Boots: Current Res +4, Stamina Recovery +2, Edgemaster +1, Expert
-2
Active Skills: Current Res High, Stamina Recovery Up, Honed Blade,
Critical Eye -1
This set is pretty solid. Edgemaster has sharpness +1 and attack
up large all in one making it very useful. Stamina Recovery Up is
nice too. And the set looks freaking awesome! Pretty good but Lots
of farming...

Miralis
Defense: 530 Slots: 8
Fire=20, Water=0, Ice=-15, Thunder=5, Dragon=-35
Helmet: Attack +4, Unshakeable +2, Gloves Off +2, Stamina -2
Chest: Attack +3, Unshakeable +1, Gloves Off +2, Stamina -1
Gloves: Attack +6, Unshakeable +2, Gloves Off +1, Stamina -1
Waist: Attack +3, Unshakeable +2, Gloves Off +3, Stamina -3
Boots: Attack +4, Unshakeable +3, Gloves Off +2, Stamina -3
Active Skills: Attack Up Large, Rock Steady, Latent Power +1,
Short Sprinter
This is another great set. It has two good attack boosts and a
very good resistance skill. All around pretty good and
customizable, but there's a lot of farming involved
