It is pretty much the same as the Mii Channel that was readily available upon release of the Nintendo Wii and presumably the soon-to-be released Nintendo WiiU coming out in 2012. There are some notable extra features for the Nintendo 3DS version but down the line. Mii Maker itself in not an actual videogame but the characters you create can be portrayed in other 3DS games such as Find Mii and Mii Plaza (themselves are built in software as well) and retail games like Pilotwings Resort. Nintendo Wii fans have a better idea of what I'm talking about. Some other cool features include Street Pass tagging where you can walk near someone and acquire their shared Mii avatars and they'll be added to your Mii Plaza. You can use them to get puzzle pieces or be your fighters in Find Mii. o---------------------o DISCLAIMER o---------------------O Mii Maker and its content is a copyright of Nintendo all copyrights belong to them. This FAQ is the copyright of Andrea "Azul Fria" Castillo aka IceQueenZer0 and cannot be posted on any website without my permission. o---------------------o OPTIONS o---------------------O View Mii Characters Create New Mii Send/Receive QR Code/Image Options o---------------------o VIEW MII CHARACTERS o---------------------o Use this option to view all the Mii characters that you have created. There are 10 Miis that can fit on 1 page and 10 pages total thus a total of 100 Miis can be created. Use the D-pad to make the Miis stand in line. Use L or R to scroll through the pages. Touch a Mii's face and decide whether or not to edit it. o---------------------o CREATE NEW MII o---------------------o First things first, choose if you want to create a Mii from scratch or if you want to create a Mii based on a photo of yourself or someone else. If you choose the latter, choose the gender, then the skin tone, the eye color, hair color, and hairstyle. Now take the photo. The photo can be taken by using the inner camera to snap the photo of the user or the other camera to snap a photo of someone in front of you. Be sure to snap the face in the boundaries of the square. Once the photo is taken, the game tries its best to match the facial structure features of the actual person's face. If you are not satisfied with the end result, feel free to edit the Mii. ----- From Scratch There are several edits you can make and apparently the Mii Maker cares about having only realistic looking Miis so forget the exotic hair and eye colors you would only see in videogames and anime or better yet, if you dyed your hair, you can't let the game reflect that unless the dyed color is realistic. You can choose to edit the face shape, skin tone, hairstyle, eyebrows, eyes, nose, lips, glasses/facial hair, and size/weight There are some extra options to take a photo, add make up/freckles/peach fuzz, or wrinkles. When the size and weight are determined, you can change the color of the clothes from: red (default), orange, yellow, lime, green, blue, cyan, pink, violet, brown, white, and black. You can also enable or disable copying and sharing then you can add the birthday, the creator, and favorite. Favorites will appear in the Mii Plaza. o---------------------o SEND/RECEIVE o---------------------o If there is another 3DS or Wii (Mii Channel active) in the area, you can give or receive other Miis. It will ask you to connect to the Mii Maker or the Mii Channel on the Wii and start searching for it. o---------------------o QR CODE/IMAGE o---------------------o Scan QR Code - line the code within the three squares using the outer camera and if there is a Mii character in the QR code, it will be added to your Miis. Save Mii as QR code/Image - you can save the mii characters as a QR code or an image.
