Dragon Ball Z 2: Freeza, the Planet Destroyer FAQ by the Nesshelper Version 1.1 Table of Contents 1. My introduction 2. History of the FAQ 3. Walkthrough 4. Enemy stats 5. Other stuff 1. My introduction Hello, I'm Nesshelper, the author of Battle of the New Super Smash Brothers at http://www.best.com/~donh/BOTNSSB/. I'm doing an FAQ on Dragon Ball Z 2: Freeza, the Planet Destroyer, because, first off, it's the NES game that's been requested for an FAQ more than any other NES game. Secondly, I want to increase my popularity a little, which I use BOTNSSB for. 2. History of the FAQ Version 0.2 (March 18, 2000) - Should be Version 1.0. I just forgot to change the version number. I used the same format as my DBZ2: Gekitouden FAQ to write this. Anyway, Walkthrough covers basically the whole game. Version 1.1 (March 25, 2000) - 2 sections added, and they are this and Enemy Stats. Enemy stats isn't near done yet; I only added the stats of the 3 guys Gohan and his friends meet on their way to Namek (if they don't go to the "Fake Namek") and Freeza. I also added the BP of Kuwi and Freeza's 1st form. 3. Walkthrough Okay, Move one space per turn and try to get into as many battles as you can, as you'll see why when you reach Namek. During each battle, use Bulma to your advantage, because she can make one fighter recover 1/4 of his life and ki per turn. Try not to let somebody reach 0 HPs, because you can use all of your people each turn and their entire power would be useful right now. Chao-Zu can freeze opponents, Tien and Kuririn can blind their opponent(s), Yamcha can do more damage than Chao-Zu, and Gohan can do more damage than everybody but Tien. You can revive somebody, but you have to use your healer 2 or 4 times, twice for Dende (he's twice as effective as Bulma but still affects only one fighter per turn) and 4 times for Bulma, or wait a while and let him come back to life and then he automatically attacks during the round he "revives himself," allowing you to get 6 attacks in one round (7 with Vegeta or Yajirobe, 8 with both of them). Anyway, when you get to the Mirror Ship, if you know the story or you can't read Japanese and you are playing this game untranslated, take the right choice. The "fake Namek" is in the game. You have to move several spaces past the Mirror Ship (I think it's 6, but it could be 7, and then I'd be wrong), then move left to reach it. There, if you decide to land on it, you have to beat up some bad guys. Killing the strongest guy (I think it's the one on the very left) first might be a good idea. Once you kill these jerks, slowly move to Namek again. When you reach Namek, you will have to race a group of Freeza's henchmen that includes Kuwi, along with Vegeta. Beat up Kuwi and his 3 henchmen for a Dragon Ball (that's what my suggestion at the beginning of this walkthough is about, and I recommend beating up the henchmen first), then head for the Namek village. When you get there, you will go to Goku. Again, move one space per turn and try to get into as many battles as you can. You can still use Bulma, and she's still able to heal Goku for 1/4 of his life and Ki per turn. When you get to the training space, you have to train Goku. What you try to do is beat the dealer's cards with yours without going over 15. (I think; that's what VegitaBOD@aol.com said in his DBZ3: Attack of the Androids FAQ about the rules of a mini-game in that game similar to this mini- game.) You lose 20 HPs each time you lose (not permanently, so don't worry). When you beat 3 training sessions, you will go back to Gohan and his friends. Now you have to race Dodoria with 3 of Freeza's henchmen, and Vegeta. Trash Dodoria and his minions for another DB (I recommend beating up the henchmen first), then rush to the village, and you'll go back to Goku. It's the same thing again, but this time, each time you lose to the dealer, you lose 30 HPs. After the end of the training sessions, you go back to Gohan and his teammates. You're racing Vegeta and a group consisting of Zarbon and 3 of Freeza's other minions. This time, head for the village immediately, and Dende and Bulma switch places for healer, then you go back to Goku. Not far from where you start in this part is Planet Freeza. For some extra experience, land on the planet, then beat up the bad guys. Other than that, the routine for this part is the same as the previous parts, except losing to the dealer costs you 100 HPs. When you're done with the training, you go to Kuririn, who's traveling on his own. Enter a battle with Zarbon. Beat up the henchmen first, and use Dende to keep Kuririn healthy. If Kuririn is powerful enough, he can trash Zarbon's 2nd form without any severe problems. With Zarbon dead, you will get another DB. Head to Guru's, where Guru will give you another DB. Now you switch to Piccolo, who's training on King Kai's planet. You can't use either healer at all. You have to play the side games of DBZ: Attack of the Saiyans to complete Piccolo's training, which happens when Piccolo reaches Level 30. Now you go back to the fivesome, who's together again. Your healer is now Bulma. Now would be a perfect time to train your fighters. Try to get them to Level 39, because when you arrive at Guru's, Guru will make each of them gain a level up, and the maximum level is 40. Soon afterwards, the Ginyu Force arrives and steals all of your DB's. Goku and Vegeta both arrive to help. I've played through this game twice, and Vegeta was at 900,000 here both times, which is his maximum Battle Power in this game. Anyway, chase these 5 morons. Guldo can freeze somebody in his tracks, while Captain Ginyu can swap bodies with your fighters. When the Ginyu Force is "in the next dimension," you soon battle Freeza as Nail. Give Nail your best defense card. When the round is over, make Dende fly as far toward Goku and his friends as you can make him. If Nail isn't down yet, you go back to the battle. At the end of the round, make Dende fly as far toward Goku and his friends as you can make him again. If Nail is down, after Dende moves, Freeza tries to beat Dende to the Z squad. Keep flying fast so that Freeza would say "No! You can't.....I won't let you!" and then Dende or you would say "Try and stop me!" When you get near the Z Squad, stuff such as Piccolo getting resurrected happens, then you enter a battle for survival against Freeza. After each round, you go to Piccolo. When you move Piccolo once, you go back to the battle with Freeza. Move Piccolo to Nail (you have no other choice if you want to get Piccolo to Freeza) and Nail will give Piccolo his power, making Piccolo gain 4 levels. At the end of the round just after Piccolo enters the battle, you run away. You can use the spaceship to train. If you're ready, go ahead and touch Freeza. If everybody's levels are maxed, the 1st form shouldn't cause many problems at all. (Chao- Zu's maximum of 740,000 beats 1st Form Freeza's 530,000.) The 2nd form can cause problems, since it's more powerful than what a scouter can register, which is 999,999 (Goku's maximum). However, you can still drop this form of Freeza. Freeza Form 3, who knows he can't win any Stylishness or Beauty contests, is even worse, but you can survive his onslaught with the help of Dende. Freeza form 4 is the Heckraiser, since he kills Dende and is more powerful than his 3rd form. Goku's Super Spirit Bomb (which costs 500 Ki) is extremely useful as well as Super Skill and Sun Flare. If you can win this tough fight, then you will get the ending. 4.
