Fairune 2 on Nintendo 3DS Achievements FAQ -------------------- General Data -------------------- Author: Dale Hoffman (Chickenbolt) Email: dalemichelleh@aol.com Originally Created: December 27, 2016 Version: 1.0 -------------------- Table of Content -------------------- General Data Table of Content Scope About the Game The Most Frequently Asked Question Less Frequently Asked Questions Credits Final Note From The Author Legal -------------------- Scope -------------------- This document is written with the assumption that you have already completed Fairune 2 on Nintendo 3DS by clearing the final boss. The main purpose here is to help you clear the achievements section. Spoiler alert: Before reading this FAQ, I recommend finishing the entire adventure and watching the ending first. The achievements section of the game is not extremely difficult to clear compared to other adventure games, so you may even be able to complete the achievements without the help of this guide. -------------------- About the Game -------------------- Fairune 2 is a short, yet deep adventure/role playing game with a very simple battle system. The Achievements section in the main menu gives the game more replay value. -------------------- The Most Frequently Asked Question -------------------- Many are asking how to complete the different achievements in Fairune 2. Some are easier to achieve than others. Here are some notes on how to complete each achievement. 1. Savior The game has some well-hidden things, and you may often get stuck walking all over the place not knowing what to do next. At the time of this writing, there is one walkthrough for this game on the gamefaqs.com website. I used it about 4 times. What happened was, I got tired of walking around and around in circles not knowing what to do next (usually just a hidden path I did not see). Check the walkthrough as necessary, complete the game, and watch the ending to get the trophy. 2. Item Master 70 of the items are found in normal progress of the adventure. The optional items are the hidden boost items. If you have looked all over the maps and have had no success, here are the locations of all 3 boost items. EXP Boost is on the Green Fields map. Of the 4 pillars behind the sword shrine, only 1 is still standing. The EXP Boost item is hidden behind the 1 pillar. (The sword shrine is located just east of the central temple entrance.) Shield Boost is on the Snowy Fields map. There are 4 pillars around the central temple entrance. The Shield Boost item his hidden behind the southeast pillar (bottom right). Rare Boost is on the Blue Temple Outside map. In the northeast corner of the map (top right) are 9 whirlpools in a square formation. The Rare Boost item is hidden behind the whirlpool to the right of the center whirlpool. (The clue to this is on the farthest east central platform.) After completing the item dictionary, you will get the trophy. 3. Monster Master Most of the monsters can be easily seen throughout the course of the adventure. There are 3 monsters guarding the hidden boost items. To uncover these hidden monsters, read the Item Master achievement notes above. 12 of the monsters appear on rare occasion when you enter the screen or area that they haunt. The rare monsters become less rare if you activate the Rare Boost level 1, and even less rare if you activate level 2. At level 2, appearance of these 12 monsters is usually better than 50%. After completing the game, you might enjoy activating the Rare Boost level 2 and start searching. If you enter an area 3 or 4 times, and no rare monster appears, likely there is not one to be found there. It is fun to search all over the maps to find these. If you are still having trouble finding some rare monsters, here’s a clue: Many haunt the healing mana bushes. If you are still missing one or more rare monsters, following are the locations: Wood Folk It is found in the Green Fields map, in the northwest corner near the mana bush, just south of the oil well. Ghost It is found Green Fields Underground map tomb. Entrance to the tomb is located immediately west of the central temple of the Green Fields map. This is the dark area you find yourself in if you fall in your adventure. Nasboo It is found in the Green Fields Underground map near the platform where you find the Earth Ring (green ring), one screen south of the 3 fairy statues with shapes on their heads, one screen north of the tomb. Snow Golem It is found in the Snowy Fields map, on the farthest east, central part of the map where there are 4 pillars. Blood Ball It is found in the Snow Fields Underground map, near the mana bush in the green southeast portion of the molten lava area. Nessie It is found on the Blue Temple Outside map, northeast corner around the area of the 9 whirlpools. Skull Lord It is found on the Blue Temple Underground map, east end, just north of center, near the mana bush. The trees and Treants form an arrow pointing to a hidden passage to the mana bush. Golden Dramos It is found on the Green Fields Underground map, northwest area, on the same screen as where you find the Heart of Dramos. Gold Knight It is found on the Blue Temple Inside map, northeast corner near the mana bush. Trees and Treants point to a hidden passage through the wall leading to the mana bush. Terrak Dark It is found on the Sunset Cage map, top floor near the exit to the Ashen World. Mystic Dramos It is found on the Sky Land map, far west central platform near the mana bush. Dark Matter It is found on the Ashen World map. If you go as far south as possible from the entrance to the Ashen World, you will see a ruined throne room on the other side of the wall. Dark Matter haunts the throne room. Make your way around and enter the throne room from the south to reach this rare monster. If you still have a ? on page 12 of the monster dictionary, let the final boss bring your HP to zero. Mana will appear and revive you. This will complete the last page of the monster dictionary. When you have completed the monster dictionary, you will receive the trophy. 4. Map Master Throughout the adventure, try to walk everywhere and fill in all areas of the map as you go. After completing the game, go back and walk over any areas you have missed. When you have covered all maps, you will receive the trophy. 5. Skill Master See the “Item Master” achievement noted above, pick up the hidden boost items, and use gold coins to activate them. Level 1 of each boost will cost 70 gold, and level 2 of each boost will cost 120 gold. When you have learned both levels of each skill, you will receive the trophy. 6. Field Princess Do not take the sword from the sword shrine at the beginning of the adventure. The hero will continue to wear a dress and monsters will not attack her. Play will be slightly different since you will have to wait for monsters to move out of your path. Wear the dress until you meet the Green Fairy and you will receive the trophy (though you will not be able to rescue her without a sword). 7. Tomb Maniac There are 3 tomb[stone]s to find, one in each of the 3 forms your character assumes. Girl’s Tombstone The first form you assume is the girl wearing a dress. Do not take the sword at the beginning of the adventure. Instead go south on the hidden path through the trees and sink in the sand. After falling to the underground, go north and fall into quicksand. The light gray tombstone with a flower will appear in the tomb. Warrior Tombstone The next form you assume is the hero warrior. There are many different traps and creatures to cause the warrior to fall. Fall in any way you choose. The dark gray tombstone will appear in the tomb. Dramos Tombstone Use the Heart of Dramos item to become a dragon, and fall into quicksand or a whirlpool. The pink tombstone will appear in the tomb. When you have uncovered all the tombstones, you will receive the trophy. 8. Fairy Maniac There are some hidden words to find if you tease the fairies. Do not upgrade your ID card at the left kiosk. Keep walking up to the fairy. She will protest 3 times, but the fourth time she will relent, say something funny, and upgrade the ID card herself. If you do this to each of the 3 fairies, you have read 3 of the 6 hidden messages. Use the Heart of Dramos item to become a dragon, and approach a fairy. She will say something in fear. If you do this to each of the 3 fairies, you have 3 more of the 6 hidden messages. See all hidden dialog from the fairies and you will receive the trophy. 9. Shooting Master Keep practicing the final boss until you can destroy it without your HP reaching zero. Do not use Mana to defeat the last boss, and you will receive the trophy. 10. Speed Master A speedrun can be achieved in many different ways. First, here are some strategies and advice specific to a Fairune 2 speedrun: -Disregard the map, enemy, and monster completion percentages. These will only waste time. -Press X or Y to pause when necessary. If you press A to pause, the timer will continue to run. -Keep pressing A to scroll dialogue quickly. The timer keeps running through dialogue. -Get the EXP Boost and Shield Boost items as soon as possible, and upgrade them as soon as you have enough gold. This will cut down on hunting and healing time for the necessary leveling up. (The Rare Boost will not help you in a speedrun.) -If you fall in battle, or into a trap, you have a very short time to hit the home key and return to the 3DS home menu. If you don’t do this fast enough, the adventure will auto-save and return you to the tomb. This can add time to your quest. Contrarily, it may help you if used correctly. If you want a shortcut back to the Green Fields map, fall into a trap to save time. -Don’t forget to pick up your warrior statue before you leave an area. Backtracking for it takes time. One way to go about a speedrun is to have 2 files in progress. Complete a part of the adventure on one file, and when you are well-practiced, go into your speedrun file, and do it much faster. Another way to do this (my personal favorite) is to run through a part of the adventure, press X, return to the title menu, then keep repeating the same part of the adventure until satisfied with the time it took. When satisfied, press X and save. Also you can try to go through the adventure once, and write down every single place to visit, item to collect, and action needed to perform. Then start a new file, and keep pressing X to pause the game while you read the next thing to do. Clear the game within 2 and a half hours, and you will receive the trophy. -------------------- Less Frequently Asked Questions -------------------- Q: I am not skilled enough to complete all the achievements, or I am just not interested making the effort. Does anything special happen if I get all 10 trophies? A: Yes. After earning all 10 trophies, when you go into play mode, a certificate will appear on the upper screen while you are choosing an adventure log. The certificate is a sepia tone picture of a sword and buckler with a brick wall in the background. It reads as follows: Fairune 2 (game emblem with the i being the tower) Certificate This certificate proves you have contributed much to this world. Q: What is your best clear time? A: This is the question everyone asks, because we want to challenge each other to clear the game in shorter and shorter times. I am not extremely tenacious on this game. My best time is only 2:16:41. This can be found in the achievements section if you select the rightmost shelf on the lower row. Q: I heard there is a Music Mode. Is that just a rumor? A: You unlock Music Mode by completing the game once. In music mode you can select any of the 22 music tracks in the game, and choose between 4 background colors (pink, orange, green, or blue). Also there is a profile view of the protagonist wearing a jogging sweatshirt and headphones. -------------------- Credits -------------------- Thanks to those who recognize a good game when they see it, and are (like me) fanatic enough to read a document like this. -------------------- Final Note Form The Author -------------------- Email dalemichelleh@aol.com and tell me your thoughts and opinions. --Chickenbolt -------------------- Legal -------------------- I had no part in the programming, distribution, or creation of Fairune 2 in any way.
