I think my friend Gregory will like these: cold start of an Airbus 320 [1]
and a cold start of a Boeing 737 [2] (links via Flutterby [3]).

As I was viewing the Airbus 320 video, I was struck that landing the plane
[4] appeared to be vastly easier than [DELETED-starting-DELETED] booting it
up! And watching how complicated it was for the planes makes the episode
where Picard & Co. reboot the Enterprise [5] seem all the more deus ex
machina than it already was.
