Okay, so I've gone back [1] and fixed the entry—it's a “Storage Area Network”
and not “System Area Network.” Somebody (I think it was Mark [2]) told me
what it actually meant, but since there's now a link [3] to the entry (who
also thoughtfully corrected me) I might as well go back and fix it. I
originally did a Google [4] search (I don't remember my exact query) but what
I do remember coming up for “SAN” was “System Area Network.” It was never
defined durring the presentation. 

Sigh.
