Buttons we didn't have for long. The idea here was that two ponies
were better than one (Uh-oh, I should have seen where things were
going here) and because Bambi wasn't working out as expected, the
eldest could ride Buttons and the youngest could go on Bambi which
would make going out for hacks much easier as the youngest wouldn't
have to moan about her legs aching when it wasn't her turn. And
also, more importantly, Buttons would have better potential as a
working hunter pony. 

For me, this meant building stable number two (I'd had enough at
number one).  It wasn't fun, the result wasn't great, but it is
still standing now.

Buttons was a 13h dark bay gelding, Welsh Section B. Buttons also
had a lot of character, but wasn't naughty (just cheeky) in the
slightest. He did however require an experienced rider, being a bit
green himself and - especially being a bit bigger - was too much
for the eldest's ability at this point. 

So Buttons went back (he was on loan) and shortly after Bambi went
back too. And then there were none. Only briefly, what a nice time
that was*.

* Apart from it coming into summer and suddenly having no animals
on the fields at all meant the grass grew completely out of control
and muggins' here had to cut it with a push lawn mower.
